Okay but hold on! I have a theory about why Clockwork kept Dan around! Hear me out!

So Reign Storm happens before The Ultimate Enemy- right? And Pariah is not FULLY defeated, just locked away again. He’s still a threat- a very POWERFUL threat that Danny BARELY “defeated” even with the suit boosting his powers- and EVEN THEN Vlad was the one that helped fully close the coffin.

Right? Stay with me-

Clockwork kept Dan around because he knew Dan would be needed later. (I know he was supposed to return for the series finale and whatever but that’s down the drain.) I think Clockwork kept Dan, knowing agit would happen and banked on things going the way it did so Dan would be set on the path of redemption- why?

Dan is meant to be the next Ghost King.

He’s extremely powerful- he has a good chance at fighting Pariah and winning. And if it’s when he’s redeemed he’ll be a powerful and fair king.

You guys ever think about how Clockwork could've prevented Dan's existence as a whole but he just.

Didn't do that for some reason.

Like don't get me wrong I'm so glad we have Dan and am even more glad about it after AGIT but like.

He could have.

Yet he didn't.

I get that he wanted to SHOW Danny the consequences of his actions but he's the embodiment of time for crying outloud-

The way Clockwork operates is such a mystery to me tbh

And the fact that there isn't much canon content available of him doesn't help either DCJVKVKBFHVJ-

He knows everything and he gets to play with that fact

That is quite terrifying if I do say so myself-

Dan Phantom HCs I have that get progressively more Unhinged

He’s has a FrostFire core- endothermic fire (fire that absorbed heat rather than emit it)

He still adores the stars and space (I mean think about it- with most human life gone the stars are so much more visible)

Dan IS Danny- Phantom absorbed Plasmius, gaining his powers but also the emotions that comprise him (as ghosts are emotion based beings). He is twisted, fucked up, evil Danny

He IS Refined Savagery- poise and almost regal at times but also fucking feral

That man is touch STARVED- please for the love of god, someone give him a hug

He growls behind his words- especially when he’s angry (like Megatron from Michael Bays’ Transformers) It adds to how inhuman he is

That mf purrs and you know it

His ears are emotive and sensitive, give them a good rub and he melts

He sings when he thinks he’s alone and I’m talkin he sounds like David Draiman singing The Sound of Silence (you can’t tell me he wouldn’t have a beautiful singing voice with that baritone)

His forked tongue is long, thick and rough- more like a lizard than a snake

That mf is a sexual deviant- I don’t feel he’d go so far as to force himself on someone but I wouldn’t be surprised if he FUCKS

Dan is a cannibal- he eats other ghosts for sustenance. And I’m talking “ripping them apart” eating them (not vore- but I wouldn’t put it past him)

I think we as a fandom need to approach Dan with the same level of sluttiness as the Spiderverse fandom has been approaching Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099. And the fact that we haven’t yet is a sin.

I need to talk about the interaction I had with one of my coworkers today- so I’m making little clay dragons for the replen team and I asked one of them what her favorite color was. This is how the convo went:

Me: what’s your fav color? I’m making little dragons for the team.

Coworker: oh uh actually- it’s kinda cringy but I have a dragon character that’s black and green

Me:*aghast* Ma’am! *pulls up ALL of my dragon characters* you are NOT cringy for having a dragon character!

You are NOT cringy for having a dragon character!!!

You are NOT cringy for having characters!!!

Anyone who thinks what gives you joy is cringy is a sad, sad person indeed! If you are not harming anyone in your joys then shame on the ones who put you down!

Had to say good bye to my dear swimmy boy, Zekrom. He had a growth on his side that, despite my efforts, continued to grow until it was too much. But he brightened my life for the brief few years I had him with his inquisitive personality. I’ll see him again someday but for now he’s resting.

I love you so much my sweet swimmy boy!

This is really cool and I am down for this concept! I’d like to add another idea for the relationship between dragons and crystals:

Elder Dragon Hearts

When a dragon reaches 1000+ years of age they’re considered Elder Dragons and when an Elder Dragon is killed all of it’s power condenses into a crystal. The older the dragon, the bigger and more powerful the crystal. One can only get a crystal by killing an Elder, if an Elder were to die “naturally” (sickness, depression) it’s power would simply seep out of it over time and return to the natural energies. But by killing one a crystal is formed as a sort of fail-safe to avoid the sudden burst of raw natural power that would follow the sudden death of such a powerful creature.

These Hearts are super rare, extremely hard to obtain (one does not simply KILL an Elder Dragon) and very powerful. Not only do the crystals hold/store great power but they can also act as conduits straight into the “source” energies (for me that’s the Primordial Elements). Which element/energy the crystal is aligned to is reflected in its appearance and the fact that they glow rather brightly.

Most of the time the Heart is “returned to the source” out of respect for the dragon that was killed (if they were killed by another dragon) but it’s not uncommon for dragons to add them to their hoard as a trophy. Some humans have used Hearts as power sources for both great good and evil, every magic user desires their own Dragon Heart and a Slayer or Kingdom that boasts having even one is considered the mightiest of them all.

But while these crystals are very powerful they’re not indestructible and with some effort can be destroyed. The result being the equivalent of an elemental nuke going off and spanning miles. For example: destroy a wind aligned Heart you’ll unleash a hurricane with gale force winds and massive tornadoes. Or a fire Heart, suddenly you have a new volcano. Heaven forbid a water Heart is destroyed on an island- you won’t have an island after.

Dragons - Draconium Crystals

I just had an idea. This being an extention of draconic crystomancy, dragons can eat jewels if they're hungry enough. Like, their teeth are as hard as diamonds, but no-where near as brittle. So, it allows them to break gems.

However, just because they can eat gems, doesn't mean that it's a good idea to do so frequently. Dragons are considered obligate carnivores with very few exceptions.

However, when they do eat jewels, they act as a good source for minerals & it isn't unusual for there to be some left behind & not entirely digested because dragons aren't petravores by nature & thus, their bodies don't naturally digest everything in these gems.

However, their bodies do do something else. The minerals will sit in the stomach, for possibly years, &... cluster then form a new stone infused with the essence of the dragon it's inside of. Much like how oysters can form pearls.

Once it's grown to a good enough size, the dragon will then cough it up... much like a hairball.

On the plus side, these new stones are always spherical, ovular, or other rounded shapes, so that makes for an easier passage.

These Draconium Crystals are known for being both far stronger & far more valuable than typical earth-mined stones. They are also very beautiful.

They are also infused with a bit of the dragon's energy, thus making them ideal for use in crystomancy.

It should be noted that the stronger the dragon, the higher quality the stone. Not to mention that the older the dragon, the longer a stone takes to incubate, which gives results much like aging wine.

However, these stones are incredibly difficult to work with magically because, if you're not careful, the results could be deadly & explosive.

It takes an extremely skilled crystomancer with a deft hand & a keen mind to fully utilize these Draconium Crystals to their fullest.

Did I do this just to make dragons more cat-like?

Phantom Rivals- Danny’s anti-hero rival is Vlad’s son and Vlad is a proper BBEG

Reign of Fire- Phantom Planet but it’s not dumb and Vlad is actually a threat (and marries a dragon to be ghost king)

Dance with the Devil- TUE au where Dan falls for a feisty resistance fighter (Gwen) who refuses to put up with his shit and he loves it

Beauty and the Beast au- Vlad is the beauty and Tiamat is the beast

At least 10 other DracoVamp and PhantomFire one-shot prompts

And don’t forget-

I’m still working on Hunted- it’s only a 1/3 done

I still have the last part of A Lesson in Draconology to write

And they are all buzzing around in my head like angry bees!!!
