Here is my contribution for @kaelumizine! This was a collab with Amuk who you can find on ao3!
I honestly didn't expect to make something so HUGE for the zine. It's my first time being part of such a project so I'm happy to finally share this :D
Commission status is in my pinned post!

How about some headcannons for Kaeya and his Traveller!S/O? (Featuring a Paimon cameo ofc)
I just like the idea that traveller (and those close) can use waypoints to be in multiple nations within a day. Just finished Sumeru commissions? Let's go to Good Hunter for lunch!
And that's exactly how Kaeya can get his knightly duties done and accompany his S/O. I'd also imagine he makes up some excuse that he's acting a diplomat for Mondstat..
Regardless I personally have dragged Kaeya around Teyvat like a child drags around their favorite blanket. The man has been EVERYWHERE. From Enkanoimiya to the Jade Chamber he's starting to rival Diluc's own travels.
As a fellow Kaeya main, agreed. This man has never left my team and I have gone to every nation in Teyvat with him. Kaeya Mains/Simps unite. I didn’t come up with a lot, but here are some ideas I did have (:
Kaeya traveled with you to Liyue but he had to return once you had to go to Inazuma. He has responsibilities in Mondstadt, he can’t be gone forever when his army is already absentee.
He doesn’t understand how the hell you managed to get the monuments around the map to work as teleporters
All he does know, teleporting makes his stomach flip and he hates it (but he’ll never tell you that)
The good thing about it though is being able to hold you close to his chest for the teleportation to work.
He does love the opportunity to take you to nice places though, he’s gone to several of the nations on business trips and negotiations so when you bring him to say, Fontaine, expect nice crepe shops or fancy French restaurants treated by him.
Kaeya is also 1000000% a shopper, has an eye for fashion, and gift giving is his language so both of you can spend an afternoon in different nation’s shops trying on outfits (and Kaeya will buy them for you as gifts for a later date)
He also buys gifts for friends in Mondstadt if he’s spending the day for you (which you don’t mind, they’re your friends too after all)
Diluc at this point has several Sumerian Vases in all sorts of colors, patterns, and cultures
It also makes his life easier if you send him to nations for conferences or business meetings, saves a few days of travel, and can get there almost instantly. Plus, he'll spend all his free time with you
His favorite thing though is when you surprise him with some special date. A picnic in Inazuma, overlooking the sunset over the city, a private night in King Deshret’s tombs, or scuba diving in the reefs of Fontaine, whenever you plan something special, his heart fucking melts.

Suspicions, Scones, and Scandals.
diluc x GN!reader
#: synopsis- How the year long secret between you and Diluc is revealed, turns out the greatest bachelor of Mondstadt isn't a bachelor?!
#: cw- 3.4k words, they/you pronouns. Use of Mx, Traveler is left up to interpretation (Aether or Lumine), Kaeya, Venti, Paimon also mentioned, secret relationship, established relationship, Diluc loves like it's the only thing he knows how to do, fluff, Diluc is in mourning (you went to fontaine) no s/o = no life, Donna mentioned for a sentence and lowkey can't decide which one of you to be jealous of, no beta we die like Crepus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Diluc polished the glass he held in his hand. It was quiet, beautifully so. The loud chatter of drunkards during the usual weekdays were now replaced with the delicate silence of his environment.
Diluc could see his own reflection in the wine glass, it glinted with the casual lighting of Angel's Share.
Before he heard the door creaking open, he saw the peaks of blue. Who else could it be other than Kaeya.
He waltzed through the door, the corner of his mouth tilting upwards when he saw Diluc.
Diluc turned to face his brother, clenching his jaw in preparation for the relentless teasing he's recieved for the past few days.
Diluc made the fatal mistake of glancing over in your direction when you were talking to someone.
Kaeya picked up on this immediately. Like a sponge he soaked every single interaction between the two of you to compile into a theory of Diluc's clear infatuation over you.
As much as Diluc wished Kaeya would stop sending him playful glances each time your name was brought up, he couldn't deny some of his words held a hint of truth to them.
Although he wouldn't say ‘his eyes had their own heartbeat’ whenever he glanced at you. whatever that meant.
“Ah, Diluc! Pleasure to see you here.” Kaeya greeted. Flashing him a small grin as he sat down on the stools in front of the bar.
“I wish I could say the same to you.”
Kaeya only laughed in a placating manner.
“Brother, is that any way to treat your future best man?”
Diluc deadpanned at Kaeya's audacious words.
“What do you want?” He sighed as he threw the rag over his shoulder.
“Aside from good wine, a fine chat would do.”
Diluc swiveled around after he got Kaeya's order.
“I'm not your in house entertainment,” he spoke. “If you wanted entertainment you should've come during the weekend.”
Diluc huffed and placed the empty glass in front of Kaeya.
“Better yet, go elsewhere.”
Kaeya shrugged, “Of course Master Diluc, I'll keep that in mind for the future.”
Diluc continued to prepare Kaeya's drink. The sooner he left, the better. He didn't need to hear his incessant teasing.
If he glanced back, he might've seen Kaeya's gaze locked onto his gloves.
Kaeya carefully investigated the lumps of fabric. Was it just the light playing tricks on him, or did that seem like the outline of a ring?
Soon the tavern door opened again, and Diluc resists the urge to sigh.
Yes this is his job, but that doesn't mean he has to enjoy all parts of it.
Diluc sets Kaeya's drink in front of him, his gaze raised ever so slightly.
Then it locks on yours. You look like how he expects you to. You bring him a warmth him pyro vision could never mimic.
Then he remembered who else was in the room with him. He gave you a curt nod, trying to indicate something to you.
“Suddenly the atmosphere feels a lot colder.” Kaeya said.
You cleared your throat, a small black box in your hand. Wrapped in a gorgeous red velvet colored flat of fabric. You fiddled absent-mindedly with the ribbon.
“Sorry Kaeya, I was just a bit distracted.”
He smiled as he turned to the side, giving him a better view of both Diluc and you.
Diluc adjusted his tie, and brushed his hair back. Something he clearly didn't think much of. (Unlike the man that stared at him as he did so.)
He huffed amused. ”Don't worry about it Mx. [Name], at least with your company I won't have to worry about someone brooding anymore.”
Diluc shot Kaeya a glare from the corner of his eye.
‘Don't say anything you'll regret.’
Kaeya only smirked.
‘I rarely regret a thing I've said.’
You cleared your throat at the poorly disguised tension in the room. Snapping Diluc out of his in-between conversation with Kaeya.
“Good evening.” You greeted the both of them.
You walked over to one of the wooden stools. It was solid, carefully made so that even with the hours of use it acquired over its long carrier of chairness you couldn't find a single trace of weathering or possible splinters.
“So what brings you here? I didn't take you for a drinker.” Kaeya hums, taking a small sip of his wine.
You shake your head, “I'm not here to have a drink, dealing with a hangover tomorrow would be horrible.” You shivered.
“Do you not handle your alcohol well?”
“Kaeya.” Diluc scolds.
“What? I'm making conversation.”
“Don't make me kick you out.”
Kaeya sighed, curling his bottom lip into a pout in an exaggerated fashion.
“I haven't even finished my drink yet, surely you'd let me enjoy this first.”
You smiled at the interaction.
And just for a second Diluc's eyes met yours. You were looking at him so.. openly? He couldn't decipher that stare of yours. He could feel the slight amusement in your stare.
You were such a force of confusion in his life, but with you he didn't need much reason. His ears tilted red with each second longer your eyes met together.
You took pity on him, breaking eye contact first. “I'm not a lightweight, I just tend to go overboard.”
Kaeya chuckles at the clarification. “Aha I see.”
You placed the box onto the counter, the sound amplified by the silence that shrouded the room.
Diluc leaned over the counter of the bar, he used his elbow as a prop for his head. He blinked at the foreign object. A slight intrigue made him want to open it.
But… three's a crowd.
Clearly that sentiment slid out of his brain, bouncing around the room before it pointedly made its way to Kaeya.
He paused before sighing. “As much as I would love to indulge in these tendencies I do have some work to get back to.” Kaeya placed the mora he owed onto the table, before taking out a flash attached at his hip and pouring the rest of the wine down it.
“Ah, already?” You murmured.
“Unfortunately so.” He nods, “Very well then, see you both soon.”
You both bid him goodbye, and he sent a wink(you think??) in Diluc's direction.
As soon as you both hear the click of the door the atmosphere concentrates around the two people in the room. Both of you relax, a breath of shared comfort between the two of you.
You nudge the box closer to Diluc, his red hair falling against his face slightly as he tilts his head in your direction.
Archons you really need to know how he keeps it so well maintained..?
“This is?” He picks the box up in his hands, it feels miniscule in his palm.
“For you.” You said simply.
He blinked, “What's the occasion?”
You shook your head, “It reminded me of you.”
He hesitated. A gift from you wasn't a rarity, yet it still felt odd each time he recieved one just… because?
He opened the box, it was two things. A hairpin. It was a solid metal, the imagery of a flower with its petals dyed red. Golden accents adorned the sides. It shimmered in regality with the dimmed lighting of the tavern glinting against the metal.
The next piece was made in similar fashion. The silhouette mimicked the frame of the hairpin but in a much more minimalistic fashion. It was a gorgeous deep red, a notable tie clasp.
“These.. are beautiful, [Name].” He said.
You agreed, “So, you're calling yourself beautiful?”
“...”
Before he could sigh from exasperation he saw the teasing glint in your eyes. “If that's what you see me as, I can't help but not trust your judgement.” He leaned further into you, a small smirk playing against his lips.
You felt your face warm up, for a guy that was so content with shrouding himself in intrigue and mystery, his eyes betrayed that reputation.
They were so clear, if you looked directly into them you might've seen the mini Diluc’s running around scrambling to formulate his thought process.
The ombre of red and orange harmonized into a blazing ichor that threatened to swallow you whole.
He looked back at you, and you swore his eyes burned through your soul. His features were so tightly knit in comparison to his wide red eyes.
“You're not being fair right now.. stop looking at me like that.” You huffed.
“Don't you spend your time searching for the beauties of this world? Don't tell me you've given up on that goal already.”
This guy… he could be cunning when he wanted to.
You didn't allow yourself to falter, seeing this as a battle risking life or death. There was no way you weren't going to win this battle of flustering the other. (Diluc didn't even know what the hell you were thinking.)
You used your sword, otherwise known as your hand to stab his heart.(read: grab his tie.) You pulled it ever so slightly closer to you. Ignoring how
You huff, leaning over the counter to grab him by his tie. He jolted at the sudden action, his torso angled over the bar, his hands moved closer to his waist, holding onto the edge of the wooden panel to steady himself.
Your fingers make their way closer to his neck, never straying from the fabric of his tie. He swallowed thickly as he watched you concentrate on fixing it.
As much as he doubts there was nothing wrong with the way he tied it, he.. appreciates the way you look up at him, just for a split second.
“Of course I haven't.” You said.
Diluc saw your lips move before he could hear you. He snapped out of his daze, the proximity between the two of you reduced to the length of a ring finger.
 “I haven’t taken a picture of you.”
Diluc pulled away, noticing how you already clipped the pin onto his tie.
You bit the inside of your cheek to prevent the chuckles of amusement from slipping out. He had turned away from you, it was a desperate attempt to hide his reddened skin.
More than ever is he glad you two are the only ones in the tavern.
You see him rub his face, the traces of red starting to dissipate from his neck and ears. You can't help but smile. You can't tell you're smiling because of his reaction, or the fact he's allowing you to see him like this.
“[Name]..” He turns back to you, his lips pursed together.
“Diluc” You responded, taking in his full appearance.
The gentle slopes of his face, the harsh curves of his jaw and nose. They all worked together in a polyphony to create the the person you admire so dearly.
“Ah, that reminds me. Unfortunately I have a business trip to attend in a fortnight.” You broke the silence of the room.
He lowered his head to meet your gaze.
“Should I bring anything back for you? A gift.. a recipe.. I'm sure I could learn to cook something for you.” You offered. Diluc's face paled.
The thought of you cooking something for him used to be a pleasant fantasy. But seeing it in practice turned any thought of you stepping into the kitchen into a nightmare.
You might as well have had a pyro vision the way the stove went up in flames.
“I… appreciate the sentiment.” He grimaced. “If anything, I wish you to return to me safely.”
You smiled back at him, bemusement tracing the corners of your mouth.
“Of course. I'll make sure to have a good time as well!”
He hummed. “Don't slack off.”
“I won't I swear–!” You exclaim, jabbing your finger in his face.
You both continue to talk, in a way only the two of you know of each other. Barriers and walls broken to build a bridge between the two of you.
These words are a well kept secret between the two of you, at least for now.
You leave the tavern when more people begin to filter in as the sun sets.
Tumblr media
Time truly didn't stop for anyone. It wasn't long before Diluc had to bid you goodbyes. Time failed to capture the moments he spent with you leading up to that.
A month had already passed since you left, his favorite place to be during that time was at the dawn winery. Letters you wrote came to him every other day.
You were safe, and it sounded like you were enjoying the time you spent in fontaine. He no longer had to relive the first week of sleepless nights worrying about your well being.
He was in the dawn winery again, a newer letter in his hands. Diluc traced the wax seal, one he specially commissioned for you.
He began to peel it off, a twinge of eagerness coated his fingers in a newfound fervor.
Just before he could read your letter, he heard a familiar high pitched voice.
“Master Diluc would totally help us!”
Was that..?
“The traveler maybe, but you and I are on the same level!”
He looked up to see the traveler and their floating companion, along with venti matching their pace.
From the corner of the doorway he could just barely make out Adelinde's sheepish expression.
“Traveller, it's good to see you here.” Diluc greeted, resisting the urge to sigh at the interruption.
He subtly slipped the envelope on the dining table behind him.
“Hey! How come Paimon doesn't get a hello?” She huffed, her hands balled into fists at her sides.
“Hello Paimon. Venti.”
“Told you.” Venti shook his head, ignoring Paimon's pointed glare.
Traveler quickly spoke up before Paimon could get provoked, “We have something to give you.” They handed an envelope to Diluc.
He quirked a brow as he looked it over, undoubtedly from you.
Diluc hasn't been keeping tabs on The Traveler's journey, but something must have led them into Fontaine..
He let himself open it the wax lifted under the nail of his finger.
Eagerness. Anticipation. You're right by his side– he swears. You play with his senses to a degree he cannot fathom. As he stares at the photocard of a few scones, he imagines he's sat across from you.
He could practically hear your indecisive ramblings about what to get. ‘The beignets sound tasty– oh but what about the blueberry scones? I'm not feeling for blueberries though..”
“Can't believe the traveler's been demoted from honorary knight to delivery service!”
For a second you coat him in a warmth– so entirely reminiscent of you. Diluc grieves the nights devoid of you.
“It's a noble job Paimon, I'm pretty sure you've made Diluc's week!”
Even before he saw your name signed at the back, he knew it was from you. He covered his mouth. He could recognize you in fields towered higher than his gaze. It's yours. You. You. You. You.
“Eeh? Whaddya–?”
Diluc looks up (unfortunately,) to see the black, amber, and green eyes looking back at him.
.
.
.
“Diluc must really like Mx. [Name]’s letter.”
The traveler breaks the silence.
“Now I'm curious, what could they have written to awoke such a reaction out of him, any theories?” Venti playfully questioned.
“Maybe it's a love letter!” The pixie answered with too much giddiness.
“It's definitely blackmail.” The blond smirked. (Furrowed brows? Check! Gotta be something incriminating.)
“It's neither.” Diluc deadpanned. “Don't make such uninformed guesses.”
“Uninformed? But Mx. [Name] said they'd sent a buncha letters! But they haven't gotten a response.” Paimon insisted, the unspoken words of ‘Diluc would totally ignore someone's constant love letters if he had the choice.’ underlined her speech.
“The trip from Mondtsadt to Fontaine is a long one, I only started to receive their letters two weeks ago.” Diluc shook his head, (a poor attempt to quell the fairy's theorizing.)
“We could always pass on a message?” The traveler offered.
“I wouldn't mind!” Venti chirped.. for some reason?
Paimon grumbled, “you're not included in this Tone-Deaf Bard!”
“ Eh? I was planning on visiting Fontaine soon anyways.” Venti replied, pouting only to further provoke the floating child.
Diluc quickly cleared his throat, (just in time to prevent the childish duo from bickering with each other.)
“If the traveller is offering, I do have something I want to give to [Name].”
Venti squinted, but didn't say anything.
“Of course,” The traveler agreed.
Diluc quickly drafted a note, not taking long to compile his thoughts into words meant for you.
The group continued to talk amongst themselves, bidding Diluc their goodbyes after he handed them the note enclosed in an envelope.
He saw them off to the door, leaving them with one final parting message, to not open it.
He saw them walk off into the distance. Diluc sighed as they left– relief admittedly washed over him.
But it was short lived.
The recognizable high pitched wails of the ivory haired tag-a-long was enough to confirm he'd have a lot to talk to you about as soon as you returned.
Tumblr media
It must've been a millenia till you returned
The breeze of Mondstadt made each step you took feel lighter. You could smell the scent wafting from good hunter's the moment you passed the gate.
You barely noticed the few pointed looks in your direction. One coming from a hard to remember face. (who was wondering who she was supposed to be jealous of.)
You ignored it, only wanting to do one thing. You practically floated into the tavern where you asked a certain someone to meet you when you came back.
You walked into the tavern, the brazen hours of daylight left behind you.
“Nice to meet you again, Diluc.”
His eyes snapped to your person, widening at the sight despite your predicted arrival. He got out of the area behind the bar to take you into a warm embrace.
No matter your stature, getting hugged by Diluc feels like a blanket covering you, protecting you from the outside world. He takes over your senses, the warmth of being home.
“I suppose you miss me?” You muttered after he pulled away. He was close enough to hear even the slightest change in your breathing.
“More than I could ever admit.” He breathed out, more than glad to have you back.
“Did anything exciting happen while I was gone?”
He sucked in his teeth with a slight furrow of his brows. “I wish it was more mundane actually.”
“Huh. Tell me more?”
You both made your way to one of the multiples of empty tables. You both spoke in hushed whispers despite there not being a single person to overheat.
“I'm sorry, dear.” Diluc apologized, his head resting in his hand, his fingers covering a bit of his eye. Red bangs would have fallen on top of his calloused digits if not for the familiar hairclip pinning them back.
“Don't be sorry, it wasn't your fault at all.” You let your fingers rest on the side of his face, tilting his head to look into your eyes.
He had told you about the incident, how Paimon's curiosity led to the whole of Mondstadt knowing the most eligible bachelor wasn't a bachelor at all.
It didn't help that the first line was ‘To my dearly beloved,’ unmistakably written by him.
It wasn't long before the ‘secret’ spread along Mondstadt's greatest gossipers, Diluc was out of stock.
“I understand you didn't want this kind of publicity, but I'm okay with it.” You insisted.
He looked at you, his eyes weary with exhaust. Whether it was because he was worried over your reaction or the scandal seeping his energy, you didn't know.
“[Name], you don't need to pretend it's fine, we agreed this would be a secret.” Diluc grumbled.
You remember that vow, the publicity of dating one of Mondstadt's most notable figures would have been incredibly pressuring.
You didn't know if you were ready for that.
“It was something I expected if I'm being honest. I'm well prepared, love.” After all, if you were to progress your relationship to the next level, it would be an even bigger shock if Diluc was secretly married.
Maybe this was for the best..?
You put your hand onto the table, your palm facing up as he moved his hand to meet yours, keeping his grip on your palm secure.
“No matter what happens, we'll do it together, okay?” You vowed.
Diluc looked at you warmly. Even without a pyro vision, you don't think he'd ever be cold to you.
A beat of silence passed, and he rubbed the back of your palm with his thumb. His glove rubbed against the peak of your knuckles.
“You look tired,” He whispered listlessly.
You bantered, “I could say the same for you.”
You both stood up, Diluc kept his hand locked in yours. “Let's go home.”
And you couldn't want anything more.

𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠
desc. how genshin characters sleep next to you!
notes. i love these ppl sm sobs
Tumblr media
they're so quiet. the only thing you can hear is their soft breath, maintaining a constant rhythm. they generally prefer to bury their head in your shoulder, but they're content just laying next to you. they're so easy to sleep next to. they probably completely shut off while they're asleep?? you will not feel a single thing. no water necessary. no bathroom breaks. they save feeling sick until the morning. in addition, a kiss on the forehead is the last thing you see before you fall asleep and the first when you wake up in the morning. all in all, they're super sweet—maybe, in a way, pretty old-fashioned. i give a 100/10.
lynette, tighnari, shenhe, XIAO, aether, ALBEDO, jean, EI, baizhu, KOKOMI, diluc, layla, ayato, ganyu
SO touchy. literally can't go more than ten seconds not being next to you. probably have a quiet, whispered conversation with you before bed—about anything at all. it's mostly to distract from the fact that they're feeling you up, but they still listen to every word you say. they mumble replies with a teasing voice as their fingers dance up your back, resting at your shoulder. nuzzling their head in your neck while lightly kissing you there. (maybe biting if they're into that...) if you want to get up to get water, they probably make you stay where you are so you stay comfy. they'll do everything for you. you want a massage at 3 in the morning? go ahead, ask. they won't refuse.
KAZUHA, zhongli, cyno, yae miko, BEIDOU, xinyan, lumine, LISA, keqing, candace, THOMA, kaeya
LOUD. that's all you really need to know—but you can barely sleep. it's like they don't need it. they'll stay up for hours on their phones, talking about the videos they're watching, what they did—anything at all that they can think of. you'd believe they'll eventually get tired and toss in the towel, but they could pull 10 all-nighters in a row if it meant you'd listen the whole time. other than that, they're usually pretty cuddly. They'll grab onto your arms and scrunch into a ball position, their knees nearly at their chest. They'll probably talk to you like that until they realized you've dozed off. Once they do, they kiss you on the nose and cuddle against you, letting out an unbelievably loud sigh. almost comically so. (it might wake you up and you'd have to fall asleep all over again...)
CHILDE, yoimiya, ITTO, heizou, yanfei, VENTI, hu tao, gorou, kirara
sarcastic and mean. can you even get more mean than these guys?? they (lovingly) insult and tease you before dragging you into the bed, tightly holding you against them. they'll most likely hold the back of your head by tangling their fingers in your hair, keeping you steady against their chest. to hear their breathing. they might give you a kiss on the forehead if you get lucky. if you decide to tease them by refusing this kiss, they'll probably spread their limbs across the bed to make sure you've got no room, and that you'll have to climb on top of them to be able to lay down comfortably. that's better than a kiss, in their opinion. you're wide open for sarcasm, teasing, and letting them be the meanies they are.
yelan, kaveh, SCARA, kuki shinobu, FARUZAN, dehya, KUJOU SARA, alhaitham, mona, ningguang
Tumblr media
notes. i hate school so much actually 🤗🤗 anyways GUTS WORLD TOUR IM SO EXCITED
mwah mwah i heart you guys 💋

The boat ride took days to reach Mondstadt from Inazuma, you can’t complain since luckily your boat hasn’t gotten struck by lightning. You haven’t experienced any storms on the trip, but you’ve been on edge since you remembered watching videos of random players trying to reach Inazuma with various methods and all end up getting striked by lightning back in your world. Perhaps Teyvat itself has decided to bless you with luck on your voyage, hopefully that luck continues
With that blessing a little obstacle presents itself. The large mountains that litter Dragonspine. It’s not as bad as it is in Liyue but with the snowy terrain it adds an extra level of danger
You turned towards your companions. “So, how are we going to scale this? I don’t exactly have the upper body strength like you all have.”
“I guess one of us is going to have to carry their Grac-” Childe was cut off
“I’ll do it.” Lumine said
You see the two men wanting to argue with the blonde but you shut it down. “Okay.” Said loud and clear
You get on Lumine’s back and spot the others hang their heads in defeat and start to climb up the side of the mountain
“I hope I’m not weighing you down too much.”
“It’s nothing, I stopped the hand of Everlasting Lord of Arcane Wisdom.” Lumine reminded you of her fight with Scaramouche when he was still a Harbinger
The trek up the mountain wasn’t too eventful, besides you telling yourself to not look down
Eventually you and company make it up and begin to walk to the Frostbearing Tree. During the walk you were surprised to see that the weather wasn’t as harsh as you expected. The wind swirled around you almost as if it was caressing your face
Finally in front of the tree you took a deep breath you put your hands on the tree and felt nothing
Confused, you take your hand off the bark and place it on a different part of the tree. You closed your eyes and desperately tried to concentrate but it felt like some force is blocking you from connecting to the elemental energy.
“Am I doing something wrong?” You said as you pulled your hand away. “I can’t resonate with the tree.”
“Don’t be sad, it might be because you’re tired and haven’t had a proper meal.” Paimon tried to reassure you
“Maybe, hopefully tomorrow will be better.” You said and out of the corner of your eye you see a flash of teal fly overhead
“Your Grace.”A voice reverberated through your head
“D-did any of you hear that?” You asked but was met with confused looks
“Come here.”
“There it is again, you guys seriously don’t hear that?”
“Are you sure it isn’t just the wind?” Aether said
“I know it’s not the wind.” You told
“I have to see you.”
You glance over to your companions who are none the wiser of the disembodied voice you’re hearing. Fed up you slowly make your way towards where the voice is coming from, the twins and Childe hesitantly follow you. Rounding the corner your greeted by the sight of the dragon, Dvalin
“Eek!! What is he doing here?!” Paimon screamed as she flew behind you
The twins and Childe quickly drew their weapon ready to charge at the dragon
“Fear not, for I have no intention of harming their Grace.”
“Wait, guys.” You said as you pushed through your companions. “You know who I am?”
“Of course I do, I would be a disgrace to not recognize the mighty creator of this world. I do apologize for that fool Barbatos attacking you without any hesitation.”
“I don’t hold a grudge against him because my doppelganger uses the gnosis to control him, along with the other archons.” You explained and saw a look of anger and confusion fills the dragon’s eyes
“That insolent fraud! I should go to their floating palace and maul them!” The dragon roared causing your companions to cover their ears
“I get your frustration, but I beg you to not do anything rash. I’m currently in the middle of getting my old powers back and when I’m ready I will confront them and I will need all the help I can get.”
“If you are in need of powers I will lend you some of mine.”
“Are you sure? I just don’t want it to bite you later down the line.”
“Nonsense, it is the least I can do and you won’t get any power from it.” Dvalin gestured his head towards the direction of the Frostbearing tree. “That tree has been tainted long ago.”
You had an inkling that its corruption had something to do with the large pillar floating above it, but decided to leave that topic of discussion for a later date
“Okay, I’ll take some of your powers.”
You hesitatantly put your hand on Dvalin’s snout and you focused on concentrating your hand began to glow a bright teal color, you kept your hand on the dragon until the light stopped
You cup your hands together and started to imagine a small tornado. A little vortex formed in your palms and then quickly dissipated when you separated your hands
“I have a question, does Andrius know about my situation? Like does he know that I’m the creator?” You asked turning back to Dvalin
“Why would he not be knowledgeable about your predicament?”
“Just making sure, I don’t want to get my hopes up and for them to side with my doppelganger.”
“It’s such a sad situation for the divine creator to take such a precaution for fear of death in a world that is supposed to worthship them.”
“Don’t feel bad, some people know the situation, and I have another request, but I don’t want to seem like I’m asking for too much.”
“Nonsense, your request do not bother me in the slightest.”
“If you say so, then can you give me and my friends here a ride to Wolvendom?”
“Of course, your Grace.”
“Thank you so much!” You said and turned towards the others. “I don’t know how much of that you caught, but we’re going to Wolvendom to meet Andrius.”
The twins, Childe, and Paimon shared confused glances at each other but eventually hopped on Dvalin. With flaps of his wings the dragon was off the ground and took flight
Soaring through the skies of Mondstadt, the lights of Mondstadt city could be seen in the distance. You turn your head to see Dawn Winery and remember the servants and Diluc. Especially the kindness and respect they showed you, gossiping with Moco and Hillie, the motherly care from Adeline, and the kindness the master of the house, Diluc. You wish you could go and see what’s happening with them after you were labeled as an imposter, or at least thank them for their hospitality
Before you know it you find yourself in Wolvendom, Lumine offered you her hand to help you off of the dragon
“Thank you Dvalin.”
“It was nothing your Grace.” Dvalin flapped his wings and flew off
“Are you okay? You seem like there’s something on your mind.” Lumine asked
“I’m okay, just thinking about Dawn Winery.”
Before the conversation could go any further a whirlwind of snow suddenly appears and instantly becomes intense, more intense than the winds in Dragonspine. The snowy wind concentrates into one spot to reveal the Great Wolf King of the North, Andrius. The wolf looked majestic in front of you and towered over you and your friends. The air around him dropped several degrees to the point where ice formed around the arena, shivers wracked through your body despite the thick coat you have on
“Greetings, your Grace.”
“Uh, hello Andrius.” You nervously waved at the wolf
“There is no need to be fearful of me, your Grace.”
“Oh, sorry. It’s just very different seeing you face to face, than to how I would usually see you. But I digress, I need to ask you something.” Your expression turned stern and Andrius’ ears perked at the change in your once shy tone. “Can I borrow some of your powers. If you can’t then I’ll understand.”
“The divine creator reborn into a human body was something I did not expect to happen, otherwise if me parting with a portion of my powers means their Grace returns to their former glory then it is a sacrifice I am willing to make.”
Andrius puts his head down for you to put your hand on, once you do your hand glows in a manner it did when you took some of Dvalin’s powers. Your hand stopped glowing you take it away from the wolf
“Thank you, I promise you once this is all over I will give you your powers back.”
“Anything for you, your Grace. If it weren’t for you I wouldn’t be able to speak to you like this. I owe you my life.” Andrius said and the wind began to pick up and before you could get a word in a gust of icy wind blinds you. “It was good to see you again.”, when the wind drops he’s gone
“He disappeared.” Paimon said
“Maybe he couldn’t keep his physical form since he gave me some of his powers.” You reasoned
“Anyway, see if you got some cryo powers, Paimon’s curious!” The fairy said as she kicked her feet
You look around to your eyes landed on a Flaming Flower Stamen. Raising your hand, you focused into concentrating your new powers until the side of your face felt the cold emitting from your hand. You flicked your hand towards the flower, the blast of cryo quickly dissipate before it can reach the flower. Confused you tried it again but the same thing happened, disappearing as soon as the energy leaves your hand
“Maybe I’m doing something wrong?” You said dishearted
“Try summoning electro.” Lumine said as she studied you intensely
You summon a spark of electro that was much larger than what you originally intended it to be
“Okay now summon some anemo.”
You do what she told you. “What are you getting at?”
“When you use either anemo or cryo the elemental energy flow is slower than when you use the other elements.” Lumine explained
“So what your saying is the powers their Grace got from Dvalin and Andrius is weaker than the elements they go from resonating with the trees?” Aether concludes
“Well it has to suffice since I don’t know long it takes until I can step foot in Snezhnaya.” You said as you put your hands in your pockets. “We’ll decide what to do in the morning, it’s getting late we should retire for the night.” Aether said
“Yeah, he’s right. We should get out of here, ‘cause I don’t want to run into any wolves. The last thing I want is to get woken up by some wolves.” You agreed
After some walk and climbing (well you were on Lumine’s back) you all find a spot that was perfect, it was on the cliff right next to the arena and no knights were stationed there. Best part it gave a beautiful view of Mondstadt city
“Stay here, we’ll gather some firewood.” Lumine said as she and Aether begin to walk away
“I’ll stay here to protect their Grace!” Childe said as he sat next to you
The twins rolled their eyes and walked towards some trees with Paimon following behind them
Once the twins were quite a distance away from the camp site
“So, how are you liking Teyvat?” The ginger asked
“It’s nice, besides everyone trying to hunt me down.”
“Yeah…”
“But I have notice some weird things.”
“Hmm, like what?”
“Mainly the moon.” You said was you leaned back with your hands propped up behind you.
“It’s so weird that the moon is constantly full here.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“Back in my world it doesn’t produce light, the sun provides it. It even has stages called ‘phases’, a full moon happens every once a month or so.” You explained as you looked up at the moon. “But I find myself becoming mesmerized by it. The moon was beautiful back home but here, it fills me with a feeling of nostalgia.” You sighed blissfully as you rest your head in your hands. “It’s silly I-”
Suddenly your pulled towards Childe as a ball of fire is hurled at the seat you were once sitting in
You turn to see smoke coming from a giant claymore, wielded by a man with his long firy red hair tied in a low ponytail and some of his hair framing his face to show he’s wearing a domino mask
“Stay behind me.” Was all the ginger said before he charges at the masked redhead
Summoning his blades he makes swings towards his opponent which were expertly dodged by the Dark Knight Hero despite him hauling a giant sword
“Die Fatui scum!” He yelled as he swung his heavy claymore as flames bursts from the great sword
Childe uses his sword to block the attack, but the heat from the claymore quickly evaporated the hydro blade and thus sliced into the Harbinger, drawing blood
This is bad. With Childe’s bloodlust and the other’s hatred for Fatui, you know this will end in one or both of them dead. You got to think of something!
You could use cryo? No, it’s too weak to stop the flames
You could use either electro or pyro, but you can’t fight fire with fire and the electro might hurt Childe
So against your better judgement you take deep breath and yelled. “Diluc!” This caught the redhead’s attention
Shocked and mortified he swung his claymore at you, aiming for your face. You put your arms up to at least block a good portion of the attack. You hear the sleeves of your coat get cut. Blue beams shot past your head
“Your fight is with me!” Childe said as he shot hydro infused arrows at Diluc
Blood still gushing from his arm he draws another arrow and shoots. The redhead uses his great sword to shield himself from the arrows
“Take this!” Two voices yelled out in unison and a large sized tornado hits the masked hero
The redhead was pulled into the vortex and swirled around until the whirlwind stopped, disoriented Diluc tries to pick himself up but his arms fail him. He looked up at the direction the vortex came from and saw the iconic platinum blonde hair and white dress
“Traveler? Then does that mean…?” Diluc turned his attention towards you. “Me- Mentir?!” Diluc gasped, his eyes widen in shock as his eyes trailed down to see the golden liquid flowing from your arms. “Oh my Archons… Y-your Grace.”
You looked at your arms to see a decently sized cut on your right forearm, the left one was lucky cut not too deep. Upon seeing the blood staining your jacket Diluc instantly took a handkerchief and walked towards you but Aether and Childe step into front of you
“It’s alright you two, he means well.” You said as you pushed your way towards Diluc
“It’s not much, but when we get back to the manor, it’ll be treated properly.” He wrapped the cloth around your forearm. “I’m so sorry for harming you, your Grace.”
“You don’t have to call me that, we knew each other before things went sideways.”
“Of course, your- I mean Mentir.”
“Actually (y/n), is fine. Mentir is a fake name a gave you, sorrry…”
“Then what does ‘Mentir’ mean?”
“Funnily enough, Mentir means ‘to lie’ in another language from my world. I freaked out and gave you an obviously fake name, sorry again…” You explained fiddling with the fur on your borrowed coat
“We’ll talk about this more once we’re in the manor.” The redhead said as he gently took your hand and lead you to his home
Your face instantly heated up once you saw his features up close. Fluffy red hair framing his handsome face, sharp eyes with a chiseled nose and jawline
So focused on not drooling all over yourself you all made it to Dawn Winery
“It will be okay, most of the staff has retired for the night.” Diluc reassured as he slowly opened his front door. “Make yourself comfortable while I retrieve the medical supplies. Traveler can you help me with closing the curtains.”
You sit down at the table and watch Lumine and Aether close the drapes, soon Diluc comes back out with a small box that looked well used in his hands
You take off your jacket and the redhead kneeled down in front of you, Diluc makes quick work of your injury. Taking his gloves off he proceeds to remove the handkerchief that was a crude attempt to stop the bleeding. Once in his hands he tucked the rag into his pocket and turned his attention to you. Cleaning the wound with a gentleness that contrasts his scarred and callous hands, then wrapping your arm in gauze with a precision that came from years of practice, careful to not make it too tight on you
“There, that should be good.” Diluc stood up and took your jacket. “I’ll have this fixed and washed for you by the afternoon.”
“Thank you so much.” You smiled at the redhead
“Oh! It’s nothing, it’s the least I can do since attacking you without a second thought.” Diluc reasoned as a small blush crept up on his face
“It’s fine, I should have known, with your situation with the Fatui.”
“Anyway, what about sleeping arrangements?” Lumine said trying to steer the conversation away from the topic
“You can room with me, Your Grace! I can protect you better that way!” Childe smiled. And tonight’s is the perfect opportunity to showcase my stamina I told you about!”
The twin looked the ginger with disgusted looks that mirrored each other’s all the while Paimon looking clueless
“Ugh, can’t you show more respect instead of this degeneracy.” Diluc scolded
“If you didn’t run around playing ‘hero’ you would know a thing or two about bedding anybody, but you don’t.”
“Listen you Fatui scum-” Diluc stormed towards Childe but stopped when you stepped in between them
“Look! I will tell you what I told this one.” You hissed out while gesturing to Aether. “I am not in the mood to play referee between the two of y’all, you’re grown ass men, act like it!” Your eyes catch a glimpse of a wine bottle on the table. “Wait have you been drinking since I’ve been gone?” You walked towards it noticing it hasn’t been opened yet
Diluc turned his gaze towards where you’re standing. “I brought this down to the cellar, I do not know how this got up here.”
“Maybe you accidentally left it up here without realizing?”
“Maybe, but if that’s the case then why hasn’t any of the servants brought it down to the cellar.”
A sudden floorboard creaking catches all of your attention. Slowly creeping your heads towards the source of the noise and your all greeted with the sight of long navy blue hair, an azure eye with a four pointed star as its pupil. Holding an extra bottle of wine in his hand
“Hi…”
“Kaeya?!”
