4/11__> || 1. Got back from Stuttgart, Germany the other night so just wanted to make an appreciation post. Shout out to @hiphopallstylecamp for having me teach alongside the many other talented artists that were there. It was a very good experience for me still easing into the travels for the year. I was also able to pull so much inspiration from everyone, especially the students. I love connecting with you all when I am able to. Reuniting with friends and just having much needed conversations to help me out. Also just so many amazing memories for me when it came to growth during the week. Seriously just wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the beautiful people that gave their time to the camp. I noticed I didn’t post that many things while I was there, mostly because was just living and enjoying the moments, but so much for me to take home. Just so thankful for all of the strength and encouragement given during my times of pain and doubt. Was very much needed and for it to come from people I barely know from around the world..it means so much more. To just have people or feel energies from others on a personal level in such a short amount of time without speaking much..something I’ve always appreciated with dance, helping me create a language for myself. One that people could comprehend more than the actual words that might or might not come out of my mouth 🙊🤦🏻‍♂️ lol. Always grateful for dance and it’s these moments that really fill my heart. Missing it very much. || 2. A night out in Stuttgart central area..beautiful at all angles around me, not just what was in front of the lens. Looking forward to more moments in Germany. Till then I’ll dream of understanding and speaking German since I am part German citizen 😂...❤️ #kaiserslauternreppin #kaesespaetzle (at Stuttgart, Germany)

So my dad has this old German-American cookbook from the 80's, Das Mehl ist Anders (The Flour is Different) which has a lot of really good recipes adapted to stuff you can more easily find in American supermarkets. I was just looking online to see if i could find a copy of my own, and some people are selling them for like $100. I know it's out of print, but man.
There were a couple people selling older copies for around $25, so I might go for that, but still.
I just wanna make some Kaesespaetzle

Travelers Heaven- A Visit of the Land Of Innsbruck
One of the greatest things about visiting Innsbruck is to be in the centre of Tyrolean traditional cuisine. Some of the meals you will need throughout your trip include Speckknoedel, groestl (roasted potatoes, specks and oignon tops with fried eggs), and kaesespaetzle (egg noodles with a variety of mountain cheeses and fried onions). Don't miss the Markthalle, the famous indoor food market of Innsbruck. To sample some of the renowned Cake of Tyrol, go to Café Munding, operated by the same family since 1803. You will enjoy the Christmas market in the heart of the city when you come around Christmas, when you may taste hundreds of regional and mulled cuisine at a food stall.
The art scene in Innsbruck cannot be compared, of course, to Munich or Basel, both within a few hours, but the art and cultural scene is exceptional since it's a medium-sized city. The yearly ART fair (held in January) is Austria's second-largest art expo! Innsbruck offers something for everyone, from fine art to contemporary artworks! Many of you must think that how would you do all the travelling? Well the answer is here hire the best airport taxi innsbruck, and be stress free.
With a large student population, Innsbruck offers an excellent bar and nightlife scene – obviously unlike Vienna, but there are several places to please night owls: Bar 360, well named after the 360 degree views of Innsbruck and its surroundings, Moustache Bar, right in the Old Town and famous for its deadly Moustache cocktail, and Tante Emma Club, a new E-Mount, an E-Mountain.

Okay so I’ve literally exploded in the kitchen this week. After making the fig newtons with a friend, I’ve made:
Su: Salad using quinoa, tomatoes and avocado from the ‘River cottage much more veg!’ cookbook (by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall).
Mo: Dutch pancakes using an ‘official’ pancake batter from our local mill, using a mixture of flour, whole-wheat flour and buckwheat. About the pancakes: Maybe I should look up how to properly spread out pancake batter into the pan, because whenever I follow a recipe, mine just don’t seem to spread out as much, as the batter is sorta thick. Also my pancakes don’t turn out to be as floppy as I know them to be from other people’s. I don’t know if I just need to add more milk, work with actual butter, or if I have to work on my pancake-skills.
Chocolate almond bars from: https://frommybowl.com/no-bake-chocolate-almond-butter-bars/ I only made half the recipe, as where I live, 1 pot of almond butter only gives you about 1/2 cup of almond butter, and that shit’s expensive! BUT: This is very very tasty. I had to keep my SO from eating all of it in 2 days. It has a very nice balance of being not ‘that’ sweet, and also having a lot of interesting flavor packed into the almond butter mixture. The chocolate on top also adds to it in an amazing way. Very easy, very tasty. I definitely recommend this. But it’s also very expensive for me, alas.
Tue: Baked a garlic-rosemary bread using a recipe from: https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/homemade-artisan-bread/ About the bread: The taste was good, there were some bubbles, but for me this dough turned out very very wet. Now I know this should disappear a little with kneading, but the whole point of this recipe is that you don’t have to knead the dough as much to develop the gluten, the rising of the gas bubbles does that. It might also be because of the recipe calling for bread flour, whereas I used a mix of wheat and whole-wheat flour. That, or maybe something goes wrong with this being a US-centric (I think?) recipe, whereas I prefer to use weight to measure ingredients.
A salad using pearl couscous, radishes and green beans, from the ‘River cottage much more veg!’ cookbook (by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall).
Wed: Salad from zucchini and strawberry from the ‘River cottage much more veg!’ cookbook (by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall).
Actual kaese-spaetzle according to this recipe from: https://www.kuechengoetter.de/rezepte/einfache-kaesespaetzle-9947 These spaetzle turned out great. I don’t have an official spaetzle-making unit at home, I just used a slotted spoon to create the spaetzle. This did take me a lot of elbow grease to make though! If spaetzle weren’t so tasty and hard to come by here, I would not repeat this recipe in this way. I’m wondering about another recipe I found that used less flour for the same amount of water, because this batter was quite.. tough? Anyway it was quite hard to get it to run through my slotted spoon. I’d hope that other measurements could give me an easier time with the batter, while also being as tasty. Also we didn’t have emmentaler at my store, I used gruyere and added parsley. I heartily recommend adding parsley to this for extra freshness! (Also I used way less cheese than recommended).
Fri: Cold cucumber melon gazpacho from the ‘River cottage much more veg!’ cookbook (by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall).
For as far as I’ve noticed, all of the recipes in this cookbook turn out good. I’d only disagree on portion sizes, where I can easily half the serving size that 1 batch of the recipe gives me. I know we’re big eaters but that seems a bit ridiculous to me. Otherwise: great book!

hi! i have a super silly question, i've been living for a while in germany, and i've been looking for mac and cheese (like in a box) that is basically instant and i havent found any, is there any brand, or is it available to find american mac & cheese??
Why would you want to eat toxic orange Mac and Cheese when you can have shiny German Käsespätzle? 🤣But seriously, as someone who has lived abroad, too, I can understand food nostalgia. If you stay long enough, you will start craving things from your country you didn’t even like before. 😀Try the Spätzle, but if you must, Amazon.de has your American Mac and Cheese in boxes of 5:
https://www.amazon.de/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=mac+and+cheese

Share this with someone spaetzle; it’s sure to be extra cheesy 🧀 This is the kaesespaetzle, a #cheese covered #spaetzle topped with onions and #bacon from @zumstammtisch in #glendale #queensny #nyc and it’s one of my all time favorite winter treats in #queens, especially because of all the childhood memories of this place. Prepare to roll out though, it’s heavy but great for two! Who would you share it with? #queenseats #queenseatsmust #zumstammtisch (at Zum Stammtisch Restaurant)
