Cryptid of the Day: Kadimakara
Description: Stories of the Kadimakara came from Dreamtime, aboriginal Australian’s version of pre-history. It was described as a giant lizard with a horn on its head, and was said to live in the marsh land of Lake Eyre, South Australia. Some theorize that the creature is folk memory of the long extinct Diprotodon.

#Kadimakara According to Aboriginal myth there was a race of reptilian monsters that fell from the sky and lived on Earth. Eventually the sun grew powerful and it burnt them up leaving only their bones behind. We now know these creatures as dinosaurs.

Creatury 2021 days 6-11 catch-up: Fafnir, Gaasyendietha, Haakapainizi, Iak Im, jackalope, Kadimakara. (1/18-19/2021) This year, I’m sketching the first entry for each letter from the book “The Element Encyclopedia of Magical Creatures” by John and Caitlin Matthews.
The first entry for “J” was “Jackal”. Then the entry proceeded to include at least 3 jackal-related dieties. So I picked the second entry: “Jackalope”.
