everyone's always on wwx's case about his social graces but he had the right to clown jzx in the beginning after jzx kicked them out with nowhere to stay simply because he didn't want to "mingle with the common folk." my point being that when jzx kicks out the jiang contingent even though they're both going to the same cr lectures and he is betrothed to the jiang's eldest daughter, insults their clan and then later slanders his betrothed publically, that's hardly worth pointing fingers at—it's only when wwx matches that disrespect when etiquette becomes a problem. does wwx really lack manners and understanding of proper conduct or does he just lack the privilege to escape punishment for taking his peers to task for their own pointed disrespect and ill-mannered behavior? on a cql rewatch, i'm really struck by how active wwx is in the face of injustice even from the beginning, and he is often still scolded for it while others reap the rewards of his questioning. and if you love jyl but don't condone her #1 ride or die wwx in his defense of her honor you are a FAKE jyl stan i'm saying it now!!!
