My brother likes to point at any guy who looks tough and say "that's Batman". Once as a joke, I pointed to Bruce Wayne and said "that's Batman" and my brother immediately denied it, but I guess he must have heard us because Bruce Wayne looked dead into my eyes and winked

@justmeandsteve , let me try and understand what you're saying here, "for clarity":
What on Earth do you mean by "in the system," in this context? Visibility? If you do mean "visibility," you're literally blaming Out LGBT people for our own oppression -- it's also saying that you literally want asexuals to have systemic oppression, you know that, right?
I mean, if aces only lack systemic oppression because, in your words, you "aren't even in the system yet," and in context, you seem to be implying "in the system" as another way of saying "visibility," then you're saying that you actually want asexuals to be more visible cos then you'll get to be oppressed.
You've literally admitted that you actually WANT TO be oppressed.
Plus: that's not how oppression even works. If you're oppressed, it happens whether it's a visible oppression or not.
I have mental illness and chronic pain. These are what's called "invisible disabilities," because unless you know what to look for, you'd probably never guess to look at me that I'm disabled. These disabilities are still an axis of oppression, whether people can tell I'm disabled or not.
Visibility doesn't make people oppressed.

I’m ace and tired
You know what? Y'all are absolutely right. Aces aren’t oppressed simply because of the fact that we are ace.
But I do want y'all to take a step back and think why? Why haven’t we been rejected for being ace? When you KNOW that people have been beaten or killed for denying sex. When you KNOW that people are beaten and killed and ostracized for insinuating that they MIGHT be part of the LGBT community.
It’s probably because we’re invisible. You can’t opress a community that you don’t know exists. The ace community is JUST beginning to be known within the LGBT community. Even then whenever we come out as ace, we get this look of pure confusion. And then when we explain asexuality and what it means we either get more confusion, a complete dismissal, or a “Maybe you haven’t found the right person yet :)”

50 and 24, please.
50.Religious OR non-religious?
[I considered myself non religious for a number of horrible past experiences with priests... I don’t know... I was still mourning over my grandmother that passed away and a priest told me if i prayed, she would come back to life... Just... Several bad things happened to me in crutch... okay...?]
24.Had to lie to EVERYONE about how you felt?
[...Too many times to count...]

I work at McDonald's and the Batmobile just pulled up. Batman ordered a half dozen Happy meals (five with boy toys and one girl one?), A big Mac, and a McChicken sandwich. #onlyingotham
