Video shows train narrowly miss California school bus stopped under crossing arm

LODI, Calif. — A horrified driver recorded as a freight train passed inches from the front bumper of a school bus stopped under the arm of a railroad crossing in Lodi, California, on Monday morning.

From inside his car, Justin Clubb used his cellphone to capture the scary moments after the Lodi Unified School District bus wound up dangerously close to a fast-moving train near the intersection of South Sacramento Street and West Lodi Avenue.

“When the arm started coming down, they pulled forward a little bit and then I was like, ‘Oh no, they’re in trouble,’” Clubb told KTXL.

The train barely missed the bus, as well as the driver and student inside.

“They should definitely be more alert when it comes to railroad crossings because … they had stopped, looked both ways and then were going to proceed forward. Then they actually reversed and were lucky enough that the train missed them,” Clubb recalled.

The school district, which is currently investigating the incident, said no one inside the bus was injured. Lodi USD officials released a statement Monday, which reads in part:

“We understand and appreciate the concerns that have been voiced regarding this video. Safety remains our foremost priority in the District. We take all safety matters seriously and we want to assure you that this incident is being fully investigated by the District. We can confirm that one student was on the bus during the recording of the video and the student is unharmed.”

“It’s really disturbing and I’m just thankful that the child was OK,” Lodi resident Cindy Luna said.

Some parents said the close call should never have happened.

“It makes me feel unsafe for my kid to go to school,” Shawn Leuenberger said.

Clubb said he hopes his video serves as a lesson to other bus drivers so that these dangerous situations do not happen again.

“Let’s hope that it prevents everything and all these kids can go home safe,” he told KTXL.

Most of these are classed as yaoi, meaning thst you’ll see explicit sex scenes, bc that’s what I personally like (I always feel like something’s being left out, like we’re missing out on seeing a part of the relationship if we don’t get to see the smex, but if you really don’t want that then what you should be searching for is the category ”shounen ai” aka gay but no explicit sex scenes are shown. (All Chinese manhuas will fall into this category bc of government restrictions, btw, but I find that Chinese to English translations tend to suck a*s. Japanese to English and korean to English are of a MUCH higher standard).

Moving on to dramas/tv series:

- THE BEST Wester gay tv series, in my opinion, still belongs to Queer as Folk (the American version). This tv series came out almost 2 decades ago but I PROMISE you, it doesn’t feel dated at all, aside from the technology maybe. This series follows a group gay men in their thirties (Brian, Michael, Emmet and Ted), as well as their two Lesbian friends, Lindsay and Melanie, who are a couple. The show follows the guys’ love interests as well, and honestly, the main MAIN couple and characters of the show are probably Brian and his future partner Justin. They’re a very controversial couple, in that Brian is almost 30 and Justin is just 17, but honestly I personally just love them, and it is completely consentual, no predatory behaviour at all - in fact, Justin is the one who pursues Brian, relentlessly, season after season, until the lovable bastard finally gives in. Unfortunately, this series does end on a bit of s cliffhanger after 6 or 7 seasons, which absolutely fucking sucks, but the writer has spoken about what would’ve happened in the next/final season if it had been made, and that does give some closure. In my opinion it’s still SO WORTH a watch. The series is iconic, because of it’s unrelenting honesty and willingness to show EVERYTHING and anything - from sex sex and more sex, to drugs, to people with AIDS, to prostitution, to hate crimes, and just the way that love comes and clubbs you down, regardless of what you might’ve chosen if you could have. I’ll never stop praising this series. (PSA THO - DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT WATCH THE 2022 ”remake” version. Never thought I’d see the day when the gay/lgbtqia+ community’d CHEER when a queer show is cancelled, but now I have).

- Another really good gay series that’s come out lately tho is Young Royals on Netflix (proud Swede here lol, we did a good job, *patts our country on the back*)

Asian Dramas:

Backround (if you’re interested): I’d just like to preface this category by saying that generally, I preffer Korean Dramas over other Asian Dramas, simply bc the acting is more to the Western taste (in layman’s terms, it’s generally WAAAY less cringe). But when it comes to the BL (Boys Love) aka gay category in particular, that doesn’t really work out. It’s only in the very last few years, I’d day the last 5 or so years, that Korean Dramas have ventured into the world of BL - and the Korean BL Dramas that have finally started being made are SHORT, bc they’re still testing out the market. We can basically totally scratch Chinese Dramas, bc the government is so homephobic that they’ve even banned actors from acting togther again if they’ve participated in even gay-leaning dramas, and a lot of dramas/manhuas etc get cancelled or removed by the government if they’re deemed too gay. So that leaves Thai and Japanese dramas, and thankfully they’ve tried their very best to make up for the other countries lack of gay, lol. Just keep in mind that Japanese and Thai dramas can sometimes seem a bit more ”cringe” than we’re used to but that they’re the best we’ve had for a long time, and thank fuck that they exist.

Not that it’s a hardship, this fanfic series is better written than like 90% of the actually published books I’ve read. And I’ve read A LOT.)
