Digimon Liberator

They revealed the name of the last character from promotional materials for the Digimon Liberator web comic, Close and Sunarizamon.

Part I of Episode 7 came out (today) on 10/10, and part II will be released on Thu. 10/24. (so, regular schedule)

Furthermore, chapters Debug.5 and .6 are scheduled to release mid november.

EX-08 Chains of Liberation

The trailer shows some new card illustrations, which we've known about from product descriptions: Voltobautamon, Sakuyamon X and Justimon X.

Extra Booster Chains of Liberation will release in Japan on 29th of November. This Set will include characters, and cards, we've been introduced to already through the web novel: Tyrannomon, Dinomon, Ryutaro Williams, PolarBearmon, Skadimon, and Suzune Kazuki.

After EX-07 introduced the trait NSp (Nature Spirits), this set will give it more support, as well as introduce DS (Deep Savers) and NSo (Nightmare Soldiers). From product information we can assume this set will also feature Myotismon and Plesiomon. With Myotismon and Piedmon DNA Evolving into Voltobautamon, we might also get a Deep Savers DNA Evolution.

We will also get "Shoto Kazama's New Trump Card" - MedievalDukemon/Gallantmon! This card had already been featured in Digimon Liberator web comic Episode 6. It has both [Vortex Warriors] and [Witchelny] in its traits (as well as [Warrior]) so hopefully it will see more play than the one from EX4.

BT-20 Over the X ([ɛks])

Over the X is schedule to release in Japan on January 31th 2025! Based on the promotional image, we will receive an new Alphamon Ouryuken! This set will also feature Digimon Chronicle and Digimon Seekers again!

An Image (print?) of Yuuki and Impmon will be distributed at a BT-20 release tournament in Japan.

With BT-19 having the BT-14 WarGreymon serial number card campaign, BT-20 will have one for the BT-15 MetalGarurumon. Displays will contain a code with which you can enter a lottery, and there will be 150 winners. (I would assume only in Japan)

Other Products

We got a look at the first wave of official sleeves from 2025. They will release on January 31th 2025 in Japan.

Digimon Animation Series 25th Set PB-20 got announced! Release is scheduled to be March 2025, with preorders going from October 15th (Tue) to November 14th (Thu) 2024. Includes 1 Playmat, 20 Cards (10 different Cards, each 2 copies), 50+5 Card Sleeves (for one Digimon main deck and digi-egg deck), and a storage box.

that guy up there is Greymon, which is even kind of a similar sound to gomora. stingmon IS a kamen rider digimon, but there is another one that fills that description as well. this is justimon:

his robot arm can change into different weapons. his scarf's a bit long, but i'm pretty sure he does a rider kick reference in the anime, so i think he counts. his design definitely seems at least partially inspired by some earlier kamen riders

as for sentai, my best argument is Frontier, with the color coded team of kids that transform into digimon, or Xros Wars with Shoutmon X (various other digimon combine with him to form a big mech)

also, if i'm already making this reply, i'd like to point out the visual similarities between SkullGreymon and Seabozu:

skullgreymon even has a rocket in its back, like the rocket seabozu rides to return to space!

Justimon and his S/O

Being with a Justimon is like being with a real superhero! He's caring and incredibly affectionate and will defend his S/O no matter what. He will also defend those that he sees need the assistance, so he sometimes runs off without saying anything to go help someone but returns quite quick. So, it's only a small issue when out on a date with him.

Aside from his moments of heroism, he does so much to make every date romantic as possible. Taking his S/O places that have amazing views, or he knows they would enjoy greatly when they mentioned enjoying a specific activity. He does it all to make up for those moments he rushes off without a word.

Justimon also makes sure to bring his S/O all sorts of things when he rushes off to look for injustice for the day. Bringing them flowers, or candies he thought they would like. There's always some sort of gift waiting for his S/O no matter what. Always his way of saying sorry for not staying longer.

When he is around, he dotes upon them greatly. Always cuddling up to them and doing what they want to do together. Justimon is a Digimon of his word, and if there's a date night planned, he will always make it. No matter how much justice he needs to serve, he's always right on time to be with his S/O. He's so quick, it's no trouble for him!

Justimon balances his relationship well despite how much he runs off. There are few days he sticks by his S/O's side, such as if it just feels like a day that they can be lazy together and just sit beside one another or so. He can't say no to his S/O when they pull out the puppy eyes, too.

All around, so long as his S/O knows what they're getting into with him, then everything works out in the end. But he always lets them know that, should they call out for him, he'll always be there within moments.

The long-awaited personal take on a TWEWY-Digimon crossover is complete T3T/

Keep reading if you like headcanons and text! (TWEWY spoilers inbound):

The wolrd/AU follows alongside the TWEWY story with minor changes: - Players are partnered with a Digimon, not other players. Though, groups sticking and working together helps (as Shiki says in W1) - If the human or Digimon in a team is erased, they other will also cease to exist in several minutes. No Digimon nursery/rebirth or data downloading. - As a Player has personal growth, their Digimon will show equal in growth and digivolve into higher stages. - Digimon are In-training on Day 1 and outside of battles but automatically digivolve to at least Rookie when the battle initiates. In rare instances, some humans have Digimon higher than Rookie stage. - Where player’s prize for winning the Game is a second chance at life, Digimon have a chance at reincarnation into the human world, in a form of their choice. - Noise are mindless Digimon with tribal markings and appendages.

Neku and Monodramon: Evo line: Monodramon > Strikedramon > Cyberdramon > Justimon - Since Neku is our lovely protagonist, he gets the coveted dino/dragon Digimon. This was an amazingly hard choice to make (At first I wanted to go with Impmon, but ultimately I decided it suits Beat better). I did like the idea of Neku having rough, violent looking digis up until Mega, then showcasing a change of heart via the look of the final evo. - During the last day of W3, Justimon appears, a stark contrast in look and personality compared to prior forms. Justimon represents Neku’s final growth as a person, with a less aggressive shell but strong sense of justice for the friends he’s made, people he’s helped and a world he promised to get back to. - Notably, Neku’s Digimon is the only one that doesn’t have a set of wings in Mega. Let’s say It represents his stubbornness to not accept death, even when he was forced into the UG over and over. - It’s not surprising that Neku does NOT like this little, chubby purple creature that keeps following him around at the start of W1. It’s Shiki that helps convince Neku they have to work together (they still meet on D1W1. She and BlackGatomon saved Neku and Monodramon’s collective butts). Sloooowly, Neku and his digimon’s relationship betters and by the end they are 100% in sync.

Shiki and BlackGatomon (Mr.Mew) Evo line: Salamon > BlackGatomon > LadyDevimon/Angewomon > Mastemon - In contrast to Neku, Shiki’s Digimon was a painfully easy choice, lol. She always refers to her Digi as Mr. Mew as well, as they surprisingly resemble a stuffed animal she had when she was alive. In reality, her digimon IS her stuffed animal (thanks to data collection on the digimon’s part, it knows and understands Shiki). It’s one of the reasons that Mr.Mew is a champion level when they first meet. Mr.Mew only ever devolves to Salamon after Shiki’s first encounter with Higashizawa in W1. - Mr.Mew’s evo line is the only one that doesn’t follow ‘traditional’ evolution. The first time they go to Ultimate, the evolve to LadyDevimon; representative of Shiki’s still inner turmoil. When facing Higashizawa on D7, they slide evolve to Angewomon; representing her accepting herself (This is one of the reasons she is the winner of the Game in W1). In the final battle, the two evolutions combine to make Mastemon (I recommend looking at a pic of this digi because wow <3 ).

Joshua and Lopmon Evo line: Lopmon/Lopmon X > Cherubimon (Good) X - I knew knew knew Josh had to get Cherubimon as his Mega. Where most of the other’s Digimon Megas have somewhat seemingly human forms, Churubimon looks out of place as this massive pink bunny with winged ears, indicative that Joshua isn’t human like other players. Cherubimon X looks even more alien and ethereal (seriously, google it. The floating notes/digicode is perfect imo). - As part of Joshua’s deal with Kitaniji, he took a handicap and his powers were lessened, which made Cherubimon X a Lopmon. His Digimon appears as a regular Lopmon when meeting Neku for the first time, which helped mask his identity and assume his role as a regular player. However, Neku will soon notice that Lopmon never digivolves higher than Rookie (whereas his own Digimon was steadily evolving to Champion level). - When Joshua reveals his innate power in W2D5, his seemingly regular Lopmon transforms to Lopmon X. X-antibody Digimon are unheard of, and much stronger than their base-level counterparts (I tease at this in the image by giving Johua’s Lopmon a fluffy tail, which regular Lopmon don’t have. If anyone questions it, Joshua would explain how its a clip-on and looks much cuter than the stubby tail, lol). - Cherubimon X is only ever revealed right at the end of the final battle, when Neku and Joshua face each other. Joshua dares Neku into killing him, but Neku can’t bring himself to command Justimon to do it. Cherubimon X then attacks both Neku and his Partner.

Beat and Impmon Evo line: Impmon > Meramon > SkullMeramon > Beelzemon - Pairing Impmon and Beat just felt natural. They both share an innate need to be badass but are also unwittingly dense and easily embarrassed. They constantly bicker with each other but when it’s time to fight, they can’t wait to get in there and show what they’re made of. - On W1D3, Rhyme still sacrifices herself to save Beat (he knew Rhyme was his sister from the start so he and Impmon stuck around her and her partner). Although Beat didnt get erased, he still made the choice to become a Reaper. - When Rhyme gets erased, it sees a shift in Beat’s motivations and personality, which naturally affects Impmon. Impmon permanently evolves to SkullMeramon and is mindless fighting machine during W2, just operating off Beat’s whim. When Neku gives him Rhyme’s pendant, both Beat and his Digimon soften up. - As a reaper, Impmon could evolve and stay at Ultimate level without issue. When Beat rejoins Neku in W3, he loses that ability and his Digi has to start from square one; In-training level. Impmon (or Yaamon, in this case) wasn’t too happy. Eventually, Impmon gets back to comfortably sitting at Rookie during W3. - W3D7, at the dead god’s pad, (when facing Kitaniji and Shiki) with Beat’s resolve and growth, Impmon evolves right into Beelzemon (indicative of how Beat wants to become more capable and help people he cares about while looking awesome), saving Neku. Beelzemon also helps Neku, his Partner and the other Player’s Digimon to take on Kitaniji’s final form.

Rhyme and Kudamon Evo line: Kudamon > [ERROR] - Kudamon have cool, collected personalities and can conduct precise assessments, even during battle. For this reason I really liked it for Rhyme’s partner. It’s the most pleasing choice close to squirrel-shaped! I liked this version of Kudamon in particular as well (vs the 2006 anime version), since the markings on it were very Noise-like! - When Rhyme sacrifices herself for Beat in W1D3, Kudamon is at risk of being deleted. As a counter, Mr.H binds Rhyme’s soul to the Digimon, keeping it alive (although Rhyme couldn’t speak through Kudamon, the Digimon could feel her emotions and hear her thoughts). - During Beat’s Reaper stint, Kudamon was with him, but no matter what they said, Beat wouldn’t break away his focus. He loosens up eventually and can take Kudamon’s words to heart. - Kudamon accompanies Neku, Beat and their partners through W3, and does get captured by Konishi on D1. - Although Kudamon never evolves (or devolves) beyond Rookie, they do help immensely during the battle with Konishi on W3D7. They are at the final battle as well.

Of fucking COURSE Justimon is a 10/10. What even needs to be said at this point. Justimon is a Kamen Rider Digimon with a fuckin metal rocket fist. Come on dawg. This is easy shit. 

OF FUCKING COURSE Justimon X is a 20/10 dude come ON this is easy shit right here. Justimon X is basically the end of the series final powerup for Justimon that brings all the previous form powers together into one big asymmetrical package and it’s the dopest shit EVER. Johan has Gigaseadramon, its the closest I could find to rainbow dragon that was both serpentine in shape and colourful - yeah there are white long dragon digimon but I’m a huge fan of the seadramon evolution line so Johan gets it

The crossover no one (or some people) ever expected... Digimon x Earthbound/Mother. 

(Okay, so the logos don’t look good due to the fact the Digimon logo itself is italicized so it looks awkward together with the “Bound” part from the Earthbound logo. The MOTHER version is fine though. For some reason, Tumblr displays the first image with white pixels so I’ll have to link the original two from Imgur if you bother to see the full resolution.)

Here’s my take on if the Chosen Four had Digimon partners, the Digivices I could imagine they have is the Adventure Digivice (the main heroes of Beginnings, and Earthbound) and the D-3 for the characters of Mother 3.

Bold Text indicates the partner Digimon in their current form they normally stay in.

Ninten’s Partner Digimon:

Pururumon (Fresh/Baby I) > Chicchimon (In-Training/Baby II) > Penguinmon/Penmon (Rookie/Child) > Kokatorimon/Cockatrimon (Champion/Adult) > Garudamon (Ultimate/Perfect) > Chronomon Holy Mode (Mega/Ultimate)

Ninten’s partner is Penguinmon since it is mentioned in the MOTHER Encyclopedia that he likes penguins so it’s a obvious choice for him. Garudamon and Chronomon “represent” the Flying Men of Penguinmon’s digivolution line.

Ana's Partner Digimon:

Puttimon (Fresh/Baby I) > Kyupimon/Cupimon (In-Training/Baby II) > Salamon/Plotmon (Rookie/Child) > Gatomon/Tailmon (Champion/Adult) > Luminamon (Ultimate/Perfect) > Cherubimon Good/Virtue (Mega/Ultimate)

Holy Digimon are obvious choices for Ana and Paula, although, while they seem to have the same digimon in their Rookie and Champion forms, their Fresh, In-Training, Ultimate, and Mega forms are entirely different. I imagine Kyupimon just skips Salamon and goes straight into her Champion form; to differentiate the two Gatomons, Ana has one with a Holy Ring, while Paula’s is the ringless variant.

Lloyd’s Partner Digimon:

Like most characters who are nerds that people tend to give them machine-based partners, Lloyd is no exception, the idea of I chose for Kokuwamon’s Mega form Justimon is that Lloyd has interest in superheroes so I thought up of including it in the line as Kokuwamon’s Champion form Thundermon also resembles a superhero.

Teddy’s Partner Digimon:

Punimon (Fresh/Baby I) > Tsunomon/Tunomon (In-Training/Baby II) > Elecmon (Rookie/Child) > Leomon (Champion/Adult) > GrapLeomon/GrappuLeomon (Ultimate/Perfect) > BanchoLeomon (Mega/Ultimate)

Someone told me that BanchoLeomon would fit for Teddy since he’s a delinquent so I chose the Elecmon to Leomon line for him. Similar to Jeri Katou’s Leomon, his partner stays in his Champion form.

Ness’ Partner Digimon:

Shoutmon > OmniShoutmon/OmegaShoutmon

I chose Shoutmon for Ness, mostly that both carry weapons, and since PSI/PK Rockin is known in Japanese as Kiai (Fighting Spirit) which can be interpreted as a battle cry, so I thought Shoutmon would be perfect for him.

Paula’s Partner Digimon:

YukimiBotamon (Fresh/Baby I) > Nyaromon (In-Training/Baby II) > Salamon/Plotmon (Rookie/Child) > Gatomon/Tailmon (Champion/Adult) > Angewomon (Ultimate/Perfect) > Ophanimon/Ofanimon (Mega/Ultimate)

As what I stated above, for Ana and Paula, Holy Digimon is the obvious choice. I like to imagine when there’s no trouble, her partner stays in her Rookie form, but if there is any, she goes into her Champion form Gatomon. Her partner’s line is similar to that of Kari Kamiya, except that Ophanimon’s the Mega form rather than Magnadramon.

Jeff’s Partner Digimon:

MetalKoromon/Choromon (Fresh/Baby I) > Missimon (In-Training/Baby II) > Kamemon (Rookie/Child) > Tankmon (Champion/Adult) > Andromon (Ultimate/Perfect) > HiAndromon (Mega/Ultimate)

I originally intended for Jeff to have the Hagurumon to HiAndromon line, but I realized that’s a line commonly used, so I got creative with his partner to be a Kamemon and since its a Cyborg-type Digimon, it makes sense that it can turn into the three cyborg monsters in its digivolution line.

In a way, I made his partner and its line refer to his weapon of choice based on what they are and their techniques: Missimon, Kamemon’s Armored Arrow, and Andromon’s Gatling Attack/Missiles (Bottle Rockets), Tankmon (Bazooka), HiAndromon (Gun/Ray/Beams, okay I know that HiAndromon doesn’t a blaster or gun whatever but his Atomic Ray counts right?)

Poo’s Partner Digimon:

Mokumon (Fresh/Baby I) > Upamon (In-Training/Baby II) > Tapirmon/Bakumon (Rookie/Child) > Apemon/Hanumon (Champion/Adult) > Gokuwmon (Ultimate/Perfect) > Shakamon (Mega/Ultimate)

It may look odd why does Tapirmon turn into Apemon then to Gokuwmon, as someone recommended me Shakamon would fit for Poo, I made Tapirmon as Shakamon’s Rookie form, but I needed a Champion and an Ultimate digimon to fill in the missing forms, so then I remember Apemon can digivolve from Tapirmon as it is possible in the three Digimon Pendulum V-Pets and mentioned two times in the card games.

Lucas’ Partner Digimon:

Dodomon (Fresh/Baby I) > Dorimon (In-Training/Baby II) > Dorumon/DORUmon (Rookie/Child) > Dorugamon/DORUgamon (Champion/Adult) > DoruGreymon/DORUguremon (Ultimate/Perfect) > Dorugoramon/DORUgoramon (Mega/Ultimate)

Don’t think I choose Dorumon just because X-Evolution and Mother 3 were never released in the U.S, I wanted a digimon to fit the “twin dragons” theme so I chose Dorumon for Lucas and the Masked Man, Ryudamon since the two digimon both possess the Digicore Interface on their foreheads.

Kumatora’s Partner Digimon:

Yeah, her partner’s line is a reference to what her name means; her Bearmon’s line is based off of Daigo Nishijima’s Bearmon (with the exception of the Fresh and In-Training forms) with the Ultimate form LoaderLiomon being replaced with Mihiramon instead.

She was the first character that I worked on giving her a partner before anyone else.

Duster’s Partner Digimon:

Pururumon (Fresh/Baby I) > Poromon (In-Training/Baby II) > Hawkmon (Rookie/Child) > Harpymon (Armor)

Jyarimon (Fresh/Baby I) > Gigimon (In-Training/Baby II) > Guilmon (Rookie/Child) > Quetzalmon/Coatlmon (Armor) > Sandiramon (Ultimate/Perfect)

I couldn’t decide so I choose both for Duster, since Harpymon is a thief like Duster and since it armor digivolves from Hawkmon I had to pick it.

As someone told me that a snake digimon would fit to represent the Rope Snake, I use Guilmon as the base form, since there isn’t any official snake Rookie digimon out there and it makes sense Guilmon’s a lizard, after all lizards and snakes are reptiles.

His partners are required to use the DigiEgg of Light in order to achieve their forms, though, I always thought of the Egg of Light reminded me of the DigiEgg of Light.

Masked Man’s Partner Digimon:

Fufumon (Fresh/Baby I) > Kyokyomon (In-Training/Baby II) > Ryudamon (Rookie/Child) > DexDorugamon/Death-X-DORUgamon (Champion/Adult) > Gigadramon (Ultimate/Perfect) > Darkdramon (Mega/Ultimate)

We (or some of us) all know that Ryudamon might’ve suffered a similar fate as you can see in his digivolution line of what has become of him throughout the process.

They may not be partners, but I could imagine the Mr. Saturns getting along with the Motimons due to both creatures are great intellects despite of their appearance.

“Do you have any headcanons for Cyberdramon?” -Anon

Okay so I can’t really talk about Cyberdramon, without talking about all parts that make him up. Which means this post will include Hopmon, Strikedramon,  Monodramon, Mille!Monodramon, Kimeramon, Mugendramon, Milleniummon mini headcanons too. (You may reblog this post)

First off, Ryo will always call his partner by his current… iteration. EXCEPT, for when it’s Milleniummon overpowering the Monodramon personality and they’re alone.

On this blog at least, I make it clear that there’s a difference between the Original Monodramon, (ENIAC!Monodra) and the Monodramon in Tamers

As Milleniummon has no Baby I, Baby II, Child, OR Adult form of his own (being the jogress between Kimera and Mugendra), Mille’s jealous and angry personality is rarely seen in Cyberdramon’s lower forms.

The enemy that Cyberdramon was looking for in Tamers canon, was really more like ENIAC!Monodramon hunting for Milleniummon.

As Cyberdramon, his mind is not intact and is in fact minutely fractured. This is the explanation for the above bullet point.

Unless Ryo evolves WITH Cyberdramon to create Justimon, Cyberdra will always become ZeedMilleniummon when he evolves

Cyberdra’s often silence is due to influences from the previous jogress. aka Kimera.

When Cyberdra starts getting wordy, either the ENIAC!Monodra personality is getting antsy to defeat Mille, or Mille is bored

He’s constantly frustrated with Ryo’s apparent recklessness through inattention

His fragmented mind is mostly suspicious of any digimon of a mechanical type, chimeric even, or draconic. Basically anything vaguely Milleniummon like

He doesn’t often eat in front of other digimon or humans, just in front of Ryo, but when he does it’s just a cup of tea or whatever Ryo hand-feeds him. Meanwhile, as Monodramon, he’s much more open and doesn’t mind eating in front of people
