🐉Maevaris Tilani 🐉
She’s one of my favorite character in the Dragon Age comics.
I'm not very happy with how she is in Veilguard and she deserves more importance. She deserves the world!
I decided to draw her to do her justice. 💕

The conversation about who becomes Archon would make much more sense if it took place after the final battle. When that convo starts, as it stands, the Archon is dead. But that's not exactly a power vacuum that can be exploited. And when you're choosing between someone unceremoniously kicked out of the Magisterium and someone who is an active member it seems more like an academic exercise than and actual decision.
But after defeating Elger'Nan. That's a different story. The Magisterium has been absolutely trashed. Everyone not a venatori was killed by the venatori and every who was a venatori is killed by you and your allies.
That's a proper power vacuum. Even if a few Venatori survived, taking them down will be easier than ever because their crimes are plastered across the city as blight. There is a very real chance to swoop in and change the way things are run and discussions of how to handle that change make a lot more sense.
Before that final battle it's a pretty glaring question as to how Maevaris is going to gain political power. Even if you agree with her political ideals, how is she going manage to take power. Even with Dorian he barely has a chance to gain power but it's at least easier to see how with some creative blackmail and some stealthy assassinations he could line himself up to be in charge.
But after Elger'Nan's defeat, it's a lot easier to see how either of them could actually take power. It's possible to see how Maevaris's plan could work and it becomes a much more even of a discussion on how to handle justice and the rebuilding of the Magisterium.

Maevaris's belief that bringing the magesterium's crimes to light will bring any sort of justice (or even move the needle of political support) seems very quaint in today's political climate.

@angelsndragons, first thanks for pointing out that I hadn’t set up an ask box. I genuinely forgot to do that. Go team DisasterBisexual.
/facepalm
That’s set up now, for anyone curious.
But yes! @angelsndragons asked about Justice and the Moon from the tarot game for Disaster Rook :D
Justice: How does Rook feel about the circumstances that led to them leaving their faction? What does returning feel like?
He understood being asked to leave the Shadow Dragons, at least physically, after what went down in Nessus. He still very much believes he did the right thing, and he doesn’t even think the other Shadows disagree, but he drew a lot of attention and heat to them with what he did, and had no desire to put other Shadows in more danger. Besides, he liked Varric and Harding, and he had very little tying him to Minrathous other than his work, so it wasn’t a major hardship. Still stung a bit, though.
Coming back felt weirder than he thought it would. Rook always figured when he went back to Minrathous, it would pretty much just be returning to his normal (which was admittedly abnormal for most people, but he was fine with that). That very much wasn’t the case. He was still a Shadow Dragon, and he doesn’t detect any bad blood from the other Shadows, but now his mission is far outside of their normal purview and he feels that distance acutely. He’s one of them, but he also isn’t, really. Not in this. And right now this is his entire life.
The Moon: How does Rook's past impact their values? Does their past come with any biases or blind spots they have to account for?
Rook has a very difficult relationship with his past, at least before he joined the Shadow Dragons, to the point he rarely ever talks much about it. But it absolutely gives him knee jerk reactions and biases that he tries to keep a handle on.
Like many Soporati, he has no major love for the Altus class. Maevaris and Dorian and Ashur certainly make him more reflective on his quickness to judge Altus mages, and he has largely overcome most of that automatic distrust, but it’s a work in progress.
He hates the Antaam. Not the Qunari, he has much more nuanced perspective on the people in general, but the Antaam as an entity definitely inspire a knee jerk reaction from him, and when he fights Antaam it’s just a little more vicious and a hair closer to reckless.
See, he’s lived in Minrathous for years, but he’s originally from Ventus. And his (adoptive) parents died fighting when Ventus fell to the Antaam. Rook fought at Ventus too (as did Tarquin, interestingly, though they didn’t know each other then). The whole experience was somewhat traumatic, and the things he saw there make him leery of the Antaam as an organization writ large, even beyond suspicion of foreign militaries more generally.

Molly!Rook vs Minor Side Trips
The Hall of Valour
Taash: Didn't figure you for wanting to be here.
Molly!Rook: I could use the workout and the challenge. And you could make more of a name for yourself with the Lords here. Keeps 'em from betting against you winning against a god or three.
Taash: Huh. Cool.
Lucanis: But why am I here? This feels more like something Davrin would enjoy.
Rowan: Hello, Spirit of Determination.
Lucanis: ...waitwut.
Isabela: And new challengers, Rook, Taash, and Lucanis with a Spirit of Determination riding shotgun! This should be fun!
Lucanis: ...What is happening right now?!?
Molly!Rook: A lot of demons are just spirits twisted a bit out of true. I figure if people see what Spite is, and what he used to be, he could ... twist back the other way.
Taash: Did you do this on purpose?
Molly!Rook: You were the one who told me about the Rivaini seers and their relationships with spirits, and I remember Varric's stories about Vengeance, who used to be Justice. So ... kinda, yeah.
Taash: ...You are devious as shit.
Lucanis: Perhaps you could help me fight darkspawn now?
Molly!Rook; Taash: 'Kay. *Weakness detonation-combo on the big one*
Wandering around the Surreal Estate, specifically the Workshop
Bellara: Rook! Hi! You're here! Please help me talk to this thing!
Nadas Dirthalen: It is not my fault you ask weak pitiful questions.
Molly!Rook: Try being an asshole back to it.
Bellara: Iiiiiiiiiiiiii'm not really good at that.
Nadas Dirthalen: No one is as good at anything as my creator! His benificence and glory are--
Molly!Rook: Hey! Fanboy! Give us a name for this guy you're jerking off right now.
Nadas Dirthalen: The great Lord Anaris, whose wisdom and intellect are--
Molly!Rook: Enough. Tell us about Fen'harel.
Nadas Dirthalen: He is an insect, beneath notice compared to--
Molly!Rook: We get it; we get it. So ... this thing was made by one of the Forgotten Ones - one who makes Solas look like a shining hero of legend, from the sound. Hey, Fanboy! Tell us about the evanuris.
Nadas Dirthalen: They would be crushed but for their cowardice in hiding behind ... "superior numbers" and "powerful magics"--
Bellara: I can hear the quotes around those; how can I hear the quotes around those?
Nadas Dirthalen: I cannot say.
Molly!Rook: Welp, I've given you all the advice I can. Don't ask; demand. Nothing that ends with a question mark.
Bellara: Any other advice?
Molly!Rook: Have fun?
Bellara: Being rude isn't my idea of fun, Rook.
Molly!Rook: Okay, okay. Real advice? Don't go around treating everything the fanboy over here says as entirely true. He's a propaganda machine.
Bellara: ...I ... can't believe that Cyrian died over ... over...
Molly!Rook: A overly ambitious valet who everyone suspects sniffs his master's unwashed smalls when no one's looking?
Bellara: Not a mental image I needed; thanks, Rook.
Molly!Rook: There is method to my madness. If he starts getting too uppity to bear, imagining him with a pair of smalls over his face should probably get you through it.
Bellara: ...*helpless laughter*
Molly!Rook: My work here is done.
And over to the kitchens, where...
Taash: Why do you dress girly like that?
Neve: I ... like it?
Molly!Rook: Does she have to have a reason?
Taash: ......
Molly!Rook: But you would have to have a reason.
Taash: ...............I'd look stupid in a dress anyway.
Molly!Rook: Only because you don't think you can pull it off, and you think dresses are only for people with dainty physiques.
Taash: Don't you mean women with dainty physiques?
Molly!Rook: I said what I said.
Neve: This is a conversation you two need to have, I think.
Molly!Rook: *quietly* I know you'll be listening at the door--
Neve: Rook!
Molly!Rook: Ten gold says I'm right.
Neve: .........
Molly!Rook: I want you to anyway. If this goes down how I think it will, put Maevaris and Tarquin on standby. I'm going to stick to the "You can do what you want, forever" line of conversation and let everyone else handle the "journey of self-discovery" crap.
Neve: Is that how it went for you?
Molly!Rook: Nah, but I didn't have a domineering mother either. Now go snoop; it's fine.
A fairly deep conversation later
Molly!Rook: If you want some time to think, I was just gonna check on Lucanis-- Whooooooo is not here.
Taash: He walks around sometimes, y'know.
Molly!Rook: Does he normally leave a full and still-hot cup of coffee?
Taash: ...Shit.
Molly!Rook: Grab Harding and go to the eluvian room. He can't have got far. I'll be there in a minute.
Taash: Why? You run pretty fast.
Molly!Rook: This time I won't be able to. Go!
And, as predicted
Spite: I want OUT. He PROMISED!
Taash: NO! BAD DEMON! STAY!
Harding: Oh, Rook; you're here! Great! Spite's in control and is trying to leave and--
Molly!Rook: I got this. *wafts coffee aroma in that general direction*
Spite: Oh you BIT--
Lucanis: ...waitwut.
Taash: Demon's back.
Harding: He tried to walk you out of here. Where, we have no idea.
Molly!Rook: Worse yet; he tried to make you leave without your coffee.
Lucanis: Ugh. I will handle this. Thank you, though.
Molly!Rook: No problem. Just ... I'll skip the innuendo about tying yourself down at night just this once.
Lucanis: ...appreciated...

Rather than make a post for each of my DATV thoughts, I’ve just put them all here. Spoilers for all of act 1:
Not Varric fulfilling the Duncan role this game
Why only Elgar’nan and Ghilan’nain tho? Why aren’t they all out
Strife!!! He doesn’t like me :(
FREAK DARKSPAWN ARE BACK BAYBEEE
Would smash the nadas dirthalen
Well D’Meta’s crossing was gross.
Why is there a human mayor of a town in Arlathan and why does he care about Ghilannain?
A Morrigan intro that doesn’t have her saying “well, well”????????
VALTA!HARDING
Bbg I’m so confused by the crossroads I don’t like these mapsssss
TEIAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
Faceless horde of identical qunari occupying a city? How original.
Caterina’s kind of a gilf ngl
Underwater level uwu
Spite’s kinda…
No! Another gilf down :(
oh? Is the oracle the same thing that valta heard???
Yeah, yeah, dangerous relics or whatever. I’ve got kitties to pet and pottery to eviscerate
LuCANIS! All this talk of coffee kisses in front of your cousin??
Why is the Butcher called the Butcher if he’s the leader of the Antaam?
Why would the qamekmaster call them human traitors if all non-qunari are bas?
You can’t seriously make me believe the Crows are a moral group fighting for justice
Governor Ivenci only referred to with gender neutral pronouns. Another nb win
And Why would the Venatori be knowingly working with elven gods??
MAEVARIS MAEVARIS MAEVARIS
I don’t care how long I have to go running around killing darkspawn to get the chest in the creepy blight tree, I’m GETTING the chest
Worth it.
Idk, I’ve always imagined the Anderfels as snowy not… cactusy
Antoine is perhaps the most French man to exist ever. Not even Orlesian, French.
Hold on, I’ve gotta explode this cactus with my body
Gloom Howler’s kinda hot
Jesus FUCK this blighted dragon
Noticing a suspicious lack of anyone responding to Varric’s existence….
MYRNAAAAAA
TAAAAASH
When Harding talks about the inquisition all I can think about is the inconsistencies? Like, why would she remember Cole if he left or remained a spirit?
EEMMRICHHHHHH
I’ve only known this wisp for one second and if anything bad happens to it I will kill everyone and then myself
Em has canon father energy
LEMME AT THESE fucking CHESTS IN THE NECROTORIUM
MANFREDDSD
Ykw. Vorgoth can get it too
BELOVED Taash feeds the birdies
Karash has non binary swag
Wait wait. If Taash’s mom left the Qun bc she didn’t want her child to be in the Antaam, which would make them functionally a man then why is she ok with Taash being a warrior anyway? Seems odd to do this kinda plot with a group we’ve already established transness with
You can’t seriously think I’m gonna save the capital of the slave empire.
Davrin is dadcore
FORMLESS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!
A BELOVED wisp has gifted me a SPOON!
Astrolabe Restored
Well. Goodnight shadow dragons I guess.
candle hops are such cuties
My inquisitior would not behave like this.
So Aveline’s the Viscount and she’s allied with Sebastian, a guy who tried to annex Kirkwall in my worldstate
I kinda wanna play “Inquisitor saves Southern Thedas 2 Electric Boogaloo” if I’m being honest
I already collected all the wolfs regrets before meeting Inky. So. Yeah. That was a lot.
SO FLEMETH IS DEAD FRFR?????
How come the other gods are crazy looking and Mythal is just a normal elf
Oh this echo in the well thing is gonna be cool
Truly don’t know how much of these blight sound effects I can take tbh
ARE WE GOIN TO KAL SHAROK BAYBEE???
The Kal-Sharok armor kinda reminds me of the Sha-Brytol
The Valdasine Thaig is the primeval Thaig in 2 btw
VALTAAAAA
Ugh. I’ve always hated the ‘the old gods are related to the evanuris’ thing (tho I guess it’s not a theory). But we all thought Elgar’nan was Dumat tho right?
And if you can kill the Gods with the lyrium dagger, why didn’t he just do that? Like, we’ve already established that killing them with the dagger just fragments them.
I get that the fate of weisshaupt and all the wardens is important or whatever, but I’ve got chests to open beybee
Yeah bc it’s super easy to just off an Archdemon. what do you mean davrin’s killing it….
Well now killing an archdemon while it’s all tied down’s a bit unfair
Oh.
God that archdemon fight sucked.

Hello everyone, back with the third and final post about my Dragon Age: Dreadwolf story ideas and now we're talking about companions and advisors.
As always, SPOILERS for the games and expanded media and also understand that these are simply ideas and not expectations for the new game.
Warriors
Andefels Grey Warden: satisfies the traditional "Grey Warden" companion while also giving further insight into Anderfels' culture and beliefs
Kal Sharok Dwarven Warrior: representative of Kal-Sharok and allows more insight into Kal-Sharok
Mortalitasi-Revived Spirit Warrior: nice Nevarran representation and satisfies the "unconventional" companion (think Shale, Justice, and Cole) . Recruitment could work similar to the Grunt recruitment mission from Mass Effect 2, where you're originally trying to recruit a Mortalitasi mage but they can no longer join you and leave you with their "best work".
Rogues
Scout Lace Harding: somewhat satisfies the previous recurring character returning as a playable character (Oghren in Awakening, Anders in 2 and Varric in Inquisition)
Knight Squire Vaea: extended media representation
Antivan Crow: return of Antivan companion representation
Mages
Liberati Elven Mage: Tevinter Imperium representation
Tal-Vashoth Saarebas: Seheron/Qunari Representation
Rivani Seer-Apprentice: Rivaini representation and could be an unexpected key ally to give information on the true nature of Solas via her relationships with the spirits of the Fade
For now, all of these companions are considered romance options since why not (excluding the Nevarran corpse lol)
Advisors
Dorian Pavus + Maevaris Tilani: Tevinter leaders and could give more insight into the Lucerni political faction that they lead.
Varric Tethras: given his presence in trailers and expanded media, I think it would be for the best to have him as an advisor that can provide resources to our PC via the Merchant's Guild.
The Inquisitor: personal history and unfinished business with Solas and would love for the Inquisitor to have a sorta mentor relationship with the next hero.
Essentially, these companion choices directly line up with the possible origin ideas from the last post. I think it would just be really cool for our PC to have at least one companion they can directly relate to i.e. an Antivan Crow PC talking about previous contracts with the Antivan Crow companion, a female mage Rivani Lord of Fortune explaining to the Rivani Seer Apprentice why they didn't become a Seer Apprentice as well, etc.

Jarethposting because he needs to be shared with the world.
Two years ago I started Dragon Age; Origins,,, and my son Jareth was born.
He's an enigma, an elf mage destined to save the world... the hero nobody wanted or deserved, but the hero we got nonetheless. He lowkey just causes problems and kills people tbh, he makes everything worse but its okay cuz he still solo'ed the archdemon so it cancels out. Really his moral compass relies on whatever option is funniest (which is usually just murder)
Like, who cares if he let a child get possessed so he could learn a forbidden type of magic if he can now make blood puppets fr!!!
His main weapon is the Cold Stick (called wintersbreath in game ig Cold Stick better) which he whacks people with when hes out of mana, and his clothes he stole from Velanna so his man tits are out.
He also travels through the games so not only is he the Hero of Ferelden, he's the Champion of Kirkwall AND the Inquisitor (he will also solo Solas when dreadwolf comes out trust 🙏🙏)
He has a harem that includes zevran, fenris, merrill, morrigan, alistair, isabela, cassandra, dorian, bull, varric, bianca (crossbow and person), the arishok, tallis, jowin, arl eamon, isolds dress, slim couldry, anders, justice (and vengance), orsinos staff, meridith, corypheus, the architect, sten, cole, harding, josephine, the maker, bodhan, krem, and maevaris. (to be added onto post dreadwolf)
He's a bi king too of course
He always has an air of surprise to him, bro is always flabbergasted (images below). He hates the Circle because in all his years he always gets lost in those goddamn hallways </3
I love him he's my pookie here's the images of my guy

For the Rook questions! 4, 15 and 29? 👀
Hi Shadowcrow 👋
Thank you for your interest in Kyra, she has a special place in my heart 🥹
4. If my Rook was a companion, where would they be found?
Depending on whether she's been kicked out of the Wardens by that point - she'd be in Lavendel with Antione and Evka. I imagine she'd be around a campfire somewhere sharing ghost stories. Or she might be in the Anderfells somewhere clearing out the Blight - maybe the party would bump into her on their way to Kal-Sharok?
If she's not in the Wardens, she might still be somewhere clearing out the Blight - but I imagine she'd try to establish a homebase for herself to earn some money and do some good. She's heard of the Shadow Dragons before and Minrathous is a place that needs help - why not from a Grey Warden?
15. What NPCs do they like? Which ones do they dislike?
Kyra joined the Grey Wardens around the same time as Greta - they had a thing for each other and got together for a while before being sent on different missions in different parts of Thedas. They've seen each other since, but it's never quite been the same.
She's fascinated by Maevaris - one day this woman just swept out of nowhere with this powerful energy. She sees Maevaris as a maternal figure (in a similar way she does with Varric) although she'd never tell anyone that. Neve can probably work it out, though.
She's cautious of Rana. I think she can sense that she and Neve have a history and can't quite work out their dynamic. Neve makes it clear that Rook doesn't need to feel threatened by her and eventually they build a really strong friendship and occasionally gang up on Neve, which she loves hates.
Kyra hates Illario. She had suspicions about his from the very first words that came out of his mouth. She spends most of her time in Treviso wondering how people haven't caught onto him.
29. If I could choose a different faction for my Rook, which would they have joined and why?
So I'm on my 4th playthrough of the game currently - the first time I played I picked Kyra to be a Crow. (I love assassins creed), but it just didn't hit the way I thought it would? Although I love Teia and Viago.
I think, if Kyra had to be of a different faction, she'd be a Shadow Dragon. She wasn't raised in Minrathous, but she likes its grittiness and she's a sucker for vigilante justice. She's a Veil Ranger so she can be stealthy and strike from the shadows, and she's got a good heart so she always tries to help people.

Aahh I want to ask about all your WIPs XD How about I have many dragon age feels atm and This is pain???? 👀👀
You’re so nice, thank you so much for the ask!! 😭💗
I have many dragon age feels atm
This one was started right after I finished playing DA2 with my rogue Hawke who romanced Anders (I played the games in reverse) and I thought but what if they met Dorian and the Inquisitor!! What if the man who started the mage rebellion met the man who ended it?? And there’s also Dorian and his efforts to reform Tevinter and that’s so many conversations already and my brain kinda exploded :))) The Champion and the Inquisitor and the Revolutionary and the Reformer. Oh my heart.
Also Trevelyan gets the idea to ask for help from the Avvar to potentially separate Anders from Justice since they seem to be good at that sort of thing, but I don’t know where I’m going with that yet :))
This is pain - CW: mentions of major character death
So far I got three asks about this one, what is it with people in this fandom and pain honestly :)))
This WIP explores what would happen if Dorian got assassinated during his efforts to reform Tevinter, because my mind goes there sometimes. I’ve started a series I’ll be posting on AO3 with basically only moody thoughts about how the Inquisitor would deal with the grief of losing Dorian. Spoiler alert, not well at all. He becomes cold and harsh and much less measured in his judgements. I’ll give a snippet for this one (under the cut because of all the sad):
"I know you'd like to know how he's doing, and you'll be pleased to know he's at it again." Maevaris was talking to lifeless stone, she knew, yet she found it calming. The Inquisitor had his sending crystal, and she had this. Even if it would not answer, she found comfort in thinking her messages weren’t going unheard.
The tomb felt cold beneath her palm, so she conjured some flame to light up the torches and the brazier. The gesture brought Dorian's memory closer, in her mind.
"He's tirelessly working with me to change Tevinter. A bit too tirelessly at times. I worry, though not only for him."
She traced the stone carvings in the shape of a snake adorning the tomb, and felt them slither around under the magic in her fingers.
"He is only doing it because of you, you know? He has no love for our homeland, and I can't say I blame him," her smile tasted like ash. "He helps me save our country because that's what you wanted, and if not for that, I know he'd just as eagerly tear it all to pieces and burn it to the ground." A different sort of rebirth.
So yeah. Is this what you all want?? :))))

Tessa
Francesca
Calix
Autumn the mabari, very important
Nesealeus
Shirallas
Zathrian??
I could go on but that's taking forever lmao
*includes any character you can take control of, other than the player-designed protagonists. personally i’m not counting the darkspawn chronicles because that’s kinda complicated, but i *am* counting da journeys and legends and also dai multiplayer, a tale of orzammar, and any NAMED summons that you can take control of. and veilguard counts, even if you can’t fully control your companions
there are a few nuances to what counts as a single character (eg. is there 1 dog in dao or are there 4? i generally just count 1) but just give a ballpark answer
(yes there are more than 100. i got to 103)

Masterpost of characters I'd like to see in DA4
What it says on the tin. Half speculative, half wishlist. Was going to post this around EA Play Live, but Bioware loves crushing my hopes and dreams so I'm kicking this out of my drafts. Under the cut bc this is loooooong.
Potential Companions (And Maybe Romances)
Starting squad will probably be Fenris, Vaea, Francesca, and Autumn. (Based on this post.) I'm curious about the worldstate variations for Fenris--especially a romanced Hawke getting left in the Fade and how he gets involved in the first place if Hawke gave him back to Danarius. I'm curious if Vaea and Francesca are are romance options but they're really enjoyable in the comics so I'm excited to see more of them.
Lucanis Dellamorte!!! I will never shut up about him and his storyline. We've been lacking Crow companions so I'm hoping they do him justice in-game. However, I'm worried Bioware might write him too similar to Zevran if he's a potential romance. While Zevran's romance is one of the best, I don't want Lucanis to have too many similarities just because of a shared background.
Neve Gallus! The Tevinter PI who stole my heart. I love her to death and want her desperately in-game. Let me be gal pals who solve crimes, Bioware!
Audric ❤ Imagine all the fun banter about architecture as well as being undead. Would definitely have a different feel from Justice or Cole. (Also fingers crossed skeleton from the concepts actually is Audric.)
Not to be a massive lesbian but the hot Qunari lady from the concept art! I'm hoping she's not one of the characters who got cut in development and, if she made it, she's not straight.
Strife my beloved ❤ Not sure if he'll just be encounterable or a full companion, but he was super enjoyable in Tevinter Nights and I desperately want his sass for DA4.
Tessa and Marius! I'm constantly oscillating between companion or just NPCs, but I'd love to see the magekilling duo fully voiced and animated. (Also if they do come back, Charter is an obvious add-on.)
Advisor Roles
Dorian! Based on his appearance in Deception (a small cameo where he guides the crew), I'd love for him to come back in a much more limited way to let everyone else shine.
Varric ❤ This man needs a break and based on the voiceover from the trailer, as well as his appearance in Knight Errant, I'd guess he'd serve more as a spymaster to our group.
Maevaris is one I'm constantly caught between advisor or companion. But I love her dearly and if she somehow doesn't end up in-game the Bioware writers have an invitation to catch these hands.
Controversial but the Inquisitor. Like how the Warden wasn't the DA2 protag and Hawke was the DAI protag, I don't want (or even believe) they'll be the protagonist this time around and that take neglects a lot of what was said in Trespasser. I think they'd be best served advising the new hero on how to navigate the bullshit of saving the world--especially Inquisitors who really fought against being the Herald. However, I do want them in on the crisis (not the midpoint, but that's another post) confrontation of Solas. Also: give me consequences for the Well, damn it!
General NPCs
Awakening Wardens!!!!! Sigrun, Velanna, and Nathaniel are some of my all-time favorite characters and it's been too long since we last saw them. (Oghren counts too, ig...) I also want Bioware to at least acknowledge Awakening's fucked up and retconned lore. Since we only just reached the point of the Warden disappearing, we can assume these guys are kicking around somewhere. With the theorized Warden civil war apparently brewing, and potential Weisshaupt concept art, I want to see them kicking ass and trying to save the Wardens from themselves--riding griffons all the while. Speaking of...
Valya, Reimas, and Caronel! We haven't heard from them since Last Flight, and I desperately want them to get some kind of acknowledgement for rediscovering griffons. If we do end up at Weisshaupt they'd better still be alive and making sure those griffon hatchlings are in good hands.
Merrill ❤ With everything going on with Solas, if Merrill doesn't get involved I'm suing. (And if she doesn't make jokes about Fenris adopting Vaea then what's the point!!!)
Isabela got featured in some concept art, so I'm hoping she makes an appearance--if not returning as a companion or captain of the ship base that some have theorized.
Warden Carver/Bethany. Again, the heavy emphasis on Wardes would be an ideal way of bringing them back.
Stroud, if survived. I can't think of anyone who chose him over Hawke, but if they did I can't see him not coming back in that circumstance.
Generally speaking, the Inquisition romances will probably all come back. The end of Trespasser shows them with the Inquisitor in that meeting so we can assume they'll have their LI's back. I've mentioned before that I only believe three or four will have expanded roles, and the rest will simply cameo. Obvious caveat to this is that Greg Smellis needs to be replaced so I can laugh that Cullen came back without him. (Bonus points if Anders' VA replaces him like he did for DA2.) This obviously doesn't apply to a Qun-aligned Bull. RIP.
Divine Victoria (all iterations). Since most people chose Leliana or Cassandra, that Trespasser cutscene hints at this even if they weren't elected Divine. But given the Inquisition--if still around--works for her, then we can assume all iterations of Victoria will come back in some capacity.
THE HERO OF FUCKING FERELDEN. With Gaider gone, I'm hoping the policy of keeping our original protagonist out of content went with him. ESPECIALLY because of that Warden civil war. (Also my Hero would never pass up the opportunity to have a griffon. C'mon, Bioware.)
HoF's romance. Again, I want Bioware to acknowledge the weird lore of Awakening. Alistair--even a king--apparently disappears according to the epilogue, so I want some kind of plot point with this. (Again: the Warden stuff seems to be an ideal way of bringing some back.) But all the other romances will probably feature (Leliana and Morrigan are two big ones), so fingers crossed. I don't think Zevran will be a companion like some theorize, but if the Crows are involved we know Zevran can't be far behind.
Hawke (if survived). Controversial, but I think a Hawke left in the Fade is probably dead. But if they weren't I'm hoping they'll feature--especially if Fenris is a companion, Varric is helping out, and Merrill and Isabela get involved.
Fucking Shale! Please, for the love of god, let Shale come back! (Imagine her meeting a Cadash Inquisitor lol)
Morrigan. (And by extension, Kieran.) Yeah, there's gonna be consequences for what happened last game. Yikes.
By that logic, and weirdly enough, Flemeth. We've seen her come back from a supposed death before, so I wouldn't be surprised if she pops up at some point. And if it's true that the Evanuris are our real Big Bads... 👀
Feynriel! We haven't seen him since Act 2, and most people have likely sent him to Tevinter to continue to hone his skills. I'd love to see him again and find out just how far he's come since Hawke saved him. I'm also interested if he's not aligned with Fen'Harel and how that will influence the use of his abilities. He's one I'd actually like to have as a companion, to be honest. But I'm putting him under general NPCs because I don't want to count on that hope.
Teia and Viago! They made a cameo in Deception, and I loved the tension between them in Eight Little Talons. Given the Crows' involvement as well as any potential consequences regarding Lucanis, I can't see them not coming back. (This speculation also then extends to the remaining Talons.)
Probably Sten. The high involvement of Qunari in Trespasser and later books/comics means we're likely to face down our old companion at some point. If the HoF does return, this could result in a fulfillment of Sten's promise to not look for them on the field.

The cover of the video... in the center looks like maevaris tilani and to the left of her looks like dorian. Also on the right end it looks like someone like cole or maybe a spirit/ghost follower like the guy in down with the dead men
Hi Nonnie!
Here is the lineup concept art for reference, and here is the lineup concept art lightened up by another user (source post), which makes some details and aspects of the silhouettes easier to make out.
The figure fourth from the left reminds me a lot of Maevaris Tilani. Mage-like garb, light-colored hair with an off-center part, “tall” and “splendidly dressed” as she is described in Luck in the Gardens. I am looking 👀 respectfully, and turning to her like you do the first breeze of spring... The design of the figure’s chestpiece, with those distinctive shoulder shapes and the way the shape of the neck is cut, reminds me of Mae’s shoulder flourishes and the cut of her clothes in her comic and Heroes of Dragon Age appearances. This figure also bears a resemblance to the blond lady magister in the bottom right of this Tevinter scene. This magister is also rather Maevaris-esque, and again there’s the light-colored hair, shoulder pieces, and the cut of the neck. In this iteration, the light blue, blue and white tones remind me of Mae’s color scheme, and the costume design reminds me of Mae’s Trespasser epilogue appearance. (tbf both images remind me of both iterations of Mae) It seems that like Dorian, now that some time has passed, Mae may also have grown her hair out a bit longer? There is also the blond lady mage in this Tevinter environ, but I think this is flimsy/a stretch, as the resemblance is a lot less striking (barely there even) and this character looks more generic (as in a generic concept art standin), or perhaps a bit more like Calpernia. Anyway, I really want this figure to be Mae.
The figure to the left I don’t think is Dorian (and I don’t think the guy in the underwater scene is Dorian either). He has closely cropped hair (Dorian’s hair change is the opposite, it’s gotten longer if the epilogues are anything to go by) and the hint of a different facial hair style, and he looks more like a rogue or warrior. I think that’s a sword or something similar on his back, not a staff. There are speculations that this is Davrin.
The right-most figure almost certainly recurs as the entity here and here. I don’t think it’s Cole, which has been speculated. I think this entity is a Mortalitasi or a spirit possessing a dead body (probably a Mortalitasi’s body, so functionally it would be both), indeed not unlike Audric Felhausen/Curiosity. With the prominence and recurrence of this entity, and this series’ previous history having "a unique companion” like this (Shale, Justice in Awakening, Cole) I would say it’s likely that this is a companion.
