They are being very mature about how they feel. Idk if it's because they are idols, but they seem to have a sympathetic understanding as a collective. They see the OT6 as people supporting them together fighting for their own truth. They understand that regardless of the situation, these "fans" were with them for a long time (It physically pains me to say this personally, but i get it ig 🙄). But they also think the fans themselves have words that have cut like a knife and a lack of empathy/understanding themselves. This is a bit frustrating to them.

Further Clarification -

4 of Chalices, The Tower, The Fool

They really do not agree with their behavior. They are actively ignoring these fans and not receiving their feelings. They feel as though these feelings have proved to be damaging and extremely unnecessary. They also don't feel good about acting like it didn't happen, but they obviously cannot address it publicly due to backlash.

The consensus here is that their feelings are being stifled. I thought it felt really really strange that the cards came out in the order they did at first. And I think it's because they really have been trained interpersonally to not take negative things fans say and do too personally and to always empathize. They are able to empathize, but they are also not happy about it. So the most they can do is ignore OT6 and their feelings.

What does this mean for the relationship between OT6 Briize and Riize?

The Moon

This makes the relationship very unclear and uncertain for the future. I do not think Riize trusts them anymore due to this ordeal, and they just feel like it's getting too complicated and too much. But they are also confused and sad about how this all transpired and progressed. As time goes on, they will empathize less and less if things keep going this route. It will be harder to be outwardly understanding.

Idk yall I think they are in love with us 😝🥹❤️‍🔥

The words "you light a fire in me" popped out (crazy ik). They see us as ressilient and standing our ground. I think because they have clearly witnessed how serious we are about this issue and how persisyent we have been, how much we care and our determination to continue. They think we are pretty cool for this, and they love and respect this.

The Knight of Swords in particular shows they think we are hardworking and they are willing to take a risk to stand with us (the Lovers) and build a future together. There is just a lot of passionate respect and adoration/admiration in these 3 cards together.

Further Clarification (not really necessary, but i did it for OT6 goblins so I'll do it here too)

Strength + Knave of Swords

Crazy yall, they said "Briize will make Riize rize" 😭😭😭😭😭 they think we are so strong and so amazing. On an fundemental level they share OT7's sentiments and opinions on the matter at hand.

Similar to OT6 they see us as defenders of our own truth. But the difference here is that instead of the 4 of Chalices energy in relation to this empathy (ignoring, not accepting) we have the Knave of Swords, which means they think we are more ethical and pragmatic (smarter) and take a lot more into consideration.

Overall, they really really respect and love OT7 fans.

What does this mean for the relationship between Riize and OT7 fans?

4 of Swords

Just honestly an extremely satisfying and rejuvitating/healing relationship dynamic. In contrast with OT6, they really trust OT7 and have a mutual understanding, support, and rapport with each other. I actually was not sure abt this card at first bc it popped out before i even asked the question- but Universe confirmed by popping her out once again to let me know they were frfr.

Riize sees OT7 as their safe place, where they can relax and be themselves without worries or stress. They want OT7 to also not worry or stress. They want to be that comfort and escape for each other.

Final Notes:

So I think it is important to know that Riize are being as mature about the situation in regards to having so many OT6 stans as they can. But this doesn't mean they support them- more like they understand they are just afting on their feelings. They find this daunting and don't agree, so they avoid confronting the fact and withdrawing.

With OT7 they are extremely comfortable, and there's a stark contrast in comparison. Almost completely opposite- the only similarity is that they also understand OT7's feelings, but they feel like OT7 is simply right and their actions and plans are proper and just. So they just respect and love us a lot more (Hehehehe).

They are really nice boys, OT6 should be grateful they are so kind to just ignore their antics....bc they shouldn't be imo.

Omg no prob I love to ramble! I have heard the songs many times. Tbh the only one I actively avoid is Simeon’s 😭😭😭 the robot auto tune thingy is just too strong on his and takes me out of the immersion lol, which makes me sooooooo saaadddd bc I love Simeon and I wanted to like his song 😭 I heard (no source besides YouTube / Insta comments so I have no idea if it’s true) that supposedly his VA wasn’t as comfortable singing so they used that to try and help but ??? alas 😔

Stickvin: AH A CLASSIC! I think it’s good! They’re just bros and I think they’re a very nice pairing, I’ve started to draw less of it but I think it’s a lovely pairing nonetheless. It’s that ship in the fanbase tho, where it tends to get a lot of young fans who tend to be really insistent on stickvin content or being rlly weird, like fucking. fujos. unfortunately. but i shouldn’t let that taint the ship for me, its very lovely and acted as a comfort ship back when I first joined, its not in my brain as much but. iTS JUST GOOD!!

Oh man where tf do i BEGIN there are so many ngl, but mostly all of the moments where we see ramuda's humanity. There is still a sweetness left under the darkness, there is still a man who wants to cling onto everything he has - his emotion, his internal battles, his morality vs his desperate need to survive - oh fucking man so much.

This probs isnt unpopular by any means, but idk what else to put here so take this:

I dont really see it often discussed that yknow ramuda is an abuse victim. Like, its very clear that chuokhu uses and abuses him, and his life is constantly being hung over his head. No wonder the dude is doing anything he can in order to survive, he has no choice in that regard. Before i get told this in the notes yes i know this doesnt excuse the things hes done!!! But tbh i really think that like the trauma that ramuda is living with kinda needs to be addressed.

Favorite relationship

I am a huge multishipper and have found a way to ship ramuda w just about most people (that are adults and not in chuokhu lol) so this is pretty tough

Fling poly: HAVE YOU S E E N THEM do i really need to say more here all three of them have such good chemistry together, theyre all clearly on the same wavelength and have such a wonderful dynamic,,, they found out about the clones and shit and they STILL chose to protect ramuda and to fight for him and with him and to stay by his side aND BLACK JOURNEY TOO I-- IM GONNA START SOBBING,,,

Jakuramu: this one is not based on canon too much i am sorry this is mostly hc but i am a huge sucker for enemies to lovers ok also, i feel like out of TDD these two would be the ones to reconcile. After all, jakurai is a rather empathetic man and he probably would def understand the situation that ramuda was in. After all this dude was an ex assassin, if ramuda was to tell him everything, im sure that he would be able to relate to yknow the time he took others' lives, people with families and friends that he killed because he was ordered to and most likely had no other choice. Of course, jakurai is well within his right to not forgive ramuda for what happened to yotsutsuji, but i feel like he would and would help him get out of the situation hes in,,, and also im soft for the TDD era ok like how jakurai WANTED TO KNOW THE REAL RAMUDA AND LIKE,,, even when ramuda snapped at him he was GLAD HE WANTSD TO KNOW HIM FUCK MAN,,, i just really like these two ok

I have quite a lot of hcs! Here are a few and like some explanation as to why:

- hes trans - i personally believe this bc personally itd make sense. Ramuda has a very feminine appearance and build, those that are like typically common in asian countries. As well as that, he has his own autonomy unlike the other clones. It wouldnt surprise me if chuokhu orignally wanted to make a girl to keep the other divisions in check, but when he decided personally that he didnt want to be such a way, they said sure, more room for us to treat you as we want to. Hes got money, getting T wouldnt be that difficult for him either, so thats why his voice is. That way fiaudjsnfnd anyway i think it makes sense!! Idk--

- he has bpd - projection probably but the biggest inspiration for this headcanon is how he is emotionally. His swings are violent - he feels and expresses such a diverse range of emotions and its so easy for him to change his emotional disposition - whilst also mostly feeling totally empty. Relationship wise also, given how he was genuinely really close to jakurai and then completely splitting on him, h a t i n g him. Yeah that sounds like bpd to me chief i know i have it!!! Theres more ik there is but i cant pull up examples rn

- hes neurodivergent - again mostly projection honestly and like there isnt much of a canon basis in his behaviour, just little things, but i like to personally hc that aside from eating candy to stay alive duh, that he chooses lollipops bc they serve as a sort of stim?? Also ik that fashion is his job but hes also so so clearly passionate about it that its a special interest for him, and thats partially why he took it up as a job in the first place, so he could do something related to his special interest lol. I dont really have an unpopular opinion but saving like leaving this blank: as much as i absolutely adore jakurai and hifumi and their music (jakurai is my fave out of every hypmic character and i WILL drive this home), to me doppo just has the best music. Like, i love tigridia and BLACK OR WHITE so fucking much its absolutely unreal and all of doppos verses in every song are juust so fucking good. As much as i listen to you are, therefore i am on repeat every day of my life doppos music is just the best ✨

Again i am a huge multishipping bitch and i habe a few ships with doppo but in ahll honesty my fave is very clear - i absolutely adore his dynamic with matenrou as a whole and especially hifumi - his relationship with hifumi is clearly so special and it really shows how strong their friendship is, and in a ship sense i find it to be realy cute bc theres such a clear need for each other and that even if they clearly come at odds sometimes, at the end of the days theyre still clearly so close and i just,,, god doppo reallt deserves someone like hifumi in his life and im so glad that he has it!!!!

Honestly i dont really think i have too many for doppo but given his general demeanor and his attitude, i personally hc him as demi. Yeah i know that sexualities dont have like typical personalities and such but i feel like given his anxieties around new people and how he clearly only really sticks to those that hes very close with, it makes more sense for him to be demi than any other sexuality to be quite honest - and this is also just pushing my hifudo agenda aiqiauansnssn but yknow!!!!

Twitter seems to really like this event so maybe I'm just annoying about the scripting and shit. I mean I have very mixed opinions on OHE for that reason so 💀

Anyway some more personal thoughts. I did really enjoy the parts of the event focused on Tsukasa's way of thinking and relationships with other characters and I kinda wished there was more of that. There's the scene with Daigo in chapter 5 or 6 that's Really good ik I keep mentioning it but it was good. Mandatory reading for Tsukasa fans. The scenes where he's with WxS and talking about his goals and shortcomings etc was also really strong but there wasn't a whole lot of it.

Tsukasa events are usually focused on him and him only, with some support and development with WxS as a whole (similar to the average niigo event in that way), but I think it'd be nice if he got development with them more individually in his own events. This is about tsukanene can they get something like antoya in wtwg pleaseee. It kinda sits on my mind that they're the ones who both have the bigger goals of seeing the world and keyword Leaving but this is only mentioned briefly in Island Panic. Idk maybe we'll get something like that in an event closer to graduation. I wouldn't mind if they developed his relationships with Emu or Rui a bit more too, ik they've been developed pretty well but in both cases i feel like it's more from the other side. Idk Tsukasa maybe you should be more willing to be vulnerable smth smth 3.5k word ramble <- never gonna happen. Idk ignore this bc I'm probably forgetting smth really important.

Phoenix was his lowest point so it's probably never gonna fucking happen but idk it would be nice if we got an event where he was allowed to truly open up about the extent of his insecurities to wxs or at least one member. Phoenix but if his breakdown involved him talking to WxS. I get what people mean when they say his events feel kinda repetitive and I do agree this is true but I don't think they should change what they're doing because all of this stuff makes sense for Tsukasa and his goals. But like, emotional development with other characters spices things up a bit even if the formula is the same. Again massive cope never gonna happen still think it would be good for him.

Idk. The main thing that bothers me is that Tsukasa still struggles with characters sometimes and it feels like development is going very slowly when arguably Phoenix shoulda tied that up. Well Phoenix did but with main characters, Tsukasa is still struggling with smaller roles which is an issue lol. Someone needs to reality check him and make him realise that big roles come with time when you get into the professional acting circle. iirc with Nakayama he had issues with controlling his presence when he was meant to be an unimportant side character (still haven't read SotS in full pls correct me if I'm dumb) and this one he had trouble with doing the stunts required for the characters, and while he did learn them he was never given the opportunity to do them in-character. That's what annoys me at least with Nakayama he learnt something. I think they'll go back to that sorta thing after this but tbh idk bc ruinene5 is probably the end of the arc sooooooo

Nah, I think the previous Tsukasa event was really good, I think this time they just. Needed an event here and he was the only viable option. They're doing two events for every troupe and Nene is obviously gonna be the opera house and they're clearly planning something with Rui too so yeah. Tsukasa. Honestly I think this event could have been really good for him if the writing was better.

Like. They say in i think it was chapter 1 that he needs to learn to act physically in character. Like sure he can run around and do stunts and swordfight but can he do all of that as someone else? It's a pretty interesting thing to look at. Only they rely heavily on plot convenience to show his development. Like they bring up core strength (this is consistent with past stories) and flexibility (this is not consistent at all) as things he needs to work on, then drop these in favour of parkour and how fast he can run?? I understand that the parkour was smth he needed to do for a show, but couldn't do so he was disatisfied with his performance. That's totally in-character and makes even more sense when you read his card story and realise he already lost out on the lead role (shaking colopale WHY DID YOU LEAVE THAT IN THE CARD STORY). But the running is literally Not Relevant at all and only exists as a conflict for plot convenience with the plot device thief charatcer.

The issue is that the thief thing is too... Plot device-y. Yeah yeah wxs typical funny shenanigans but ultimately Tsukasa doesn't really learn much because while he learns the stunt in the end it just... Is completely disconnected from his acting. He improves the running and the parkour but does it as himself, and while the people mistake it for being part of the show and he has to improv, this is after he did all that. So he didn't learn how to do physical theatre in-character... And if the writers decided that it was in-character for the role, Tsukasa has gone back to acting characters similar to himself so again not really learning anything new. There's a really good scene with Daigo in chapter 5 or 6 where he talks about how he figuratively hit a wall and that was kinda the highlight of the event for me (aside from emunene crumbs in Nene's card story lol, and this one shoutout to how much Tsukasa trusts his friends in ch7).

Also they completely forget the thief as soon he's caught lol. Turns out he was a kleptomaniac ex-troupe member but they literally don't bring it up until partway through chapter in in a scene that quite literally begins with "So did you find out who the thief was?". Or something along those lines I'm paraphrasing. It wasn't good asfhsgsdjsjks

I think they do know what they're doing with Tsukasa and what I have read of Star of the Story makes it pretty clear. Tsukasa's current thing is improving in different aspects, like playing smaller roles like in SotS (which he still needs to work on iirc), but it felt like they didn't really know what to do with this event specifically, well they did they just executed it badly and used plot convenience so it could even happen. Oh well maybe this will play into a future Rui event somehow considering he was the one who said he thought Tsukasa needed to work on his core strength for stunts like. Ages ago. Not that Tsukasa worked on his core in this event but WHATEVER I NEED TO STOP COMPLAINING.

Tsukasa6 will probably be in the next wxs arc so they'll probably be back to more relevant stuff for then. Especially since that arc will probably be the "Rui and Tsukasa realise they are going to graduate high school soon and Tsukasa has mentioned multiple times in supplementary materials that he wants to go abroad at some point and they kinda need to work out what they're gonna do and how this will affect wxs" arc (or as I've been calling it: wxs disbandment arc 2 <peggle 2 gif attachment>). So that's fun. But yeah I think they know what they're doing they just needed to pad for time here so Daigo's troupe got two events.

Exactly! Crestoria is not the only game they don't really keep tabs with. A while ago i played a saint seiya game by them and it had many many issues. If you cannot have multiple games with quality than please don't. Is bad for us and the employees, those poor people must be going crazy :c

I feel kinda bad for aegis just being a punching bag for jokes and Yuna just being there to look pretty, they have a lot of potential for the story. Like you said Yuna had a great point and a good reflection moment but whatever eh? Aegis too, I felt his story like a punch on the gut because I tend to be like him and the queen, but again, whatever...

yeah i honestly...ugh. i have just a lot of issues w bamco in general but i also Do Not want them to pay attention to me jic they tell me to stop making memes or something stupid like that— like genuinely instead of making the game more functional or adding like...idk. any story or shit that makes Sense they just added things like the transcendence board which is just. for ppl who already maxed out their ascension boards?? after like 6 months??? Y'ALL... ik for a while too the phantom tower was Waaayyy too difficult but i think they nerfed it back to normal considering i can now clear thru level 40 at least :/ but overall the game is just. geared towards ppl who drop fucktons of cash on it. if you look at the ppl in the top 3 in arena rn? you KNOW they've spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars on this game. what the fuck.

also minor gripes are just...they don't add very many new units anyway, compared to like even asteria, and i get that there's effort for the whole models or w/e but...i mean if rays can do it... and i don't mean that in the rate that banners are released, bc those are...kind of annoyingly often as of late (looking @ all the crestoria cast alts) but the fact they're only for 1 or 2 charas who are Only ssrs, and it genuinely makes r and sr stones and sr charas just...obsolete and useless imo? like i genuinely have EVERY sr AND r full awakened/ascended which. is probs partly due to the drop rates being Absolute Garbage, but thank god they implemented a pity system, right? ...right? [tired sigh] i've saved enough for julius who has been in crestoria for 228 days, bamco, fucking release h—

i also want to add that i've contacted support MULTIPLE times abt issues w the game and they have legit just told me "hm sucks have u tried playing the game w all other apps closed" like yes, bamco, but that's not the problem??

aegis too, it's like. i don't mind teasing to an extent, but i really feel sometimes they go too far w it :( esp in like. events and the character episodes moreso than the main story (tho i could be remembering incorrectly) which makes me wonder if they just have different writers for each but even THEN like the main story still fails to act like yuna and aegis Exist half the time?? and JEEZ yeah i am constantly thinking abt aegis and queen rebecca, esp imo it's just a very... well first of all, that has to be Traumatizing As Hell but second of all i strongly headcanon he was unable to say it bc he didn't mean it and also i have a headcanon that the whole event has kept him from ever saying the words "i love you" ever again so that's that on THAT. (these are my headcanons pls don't send me hate over them they're not canon i promise—)

and honestly same!! i used to be sss rank and then i stopped caring abt arena for a bit and dropped a couple ranks...oops. i'm currently s-5 and had to FIGHT to keep myself there this season. it's not that i rlly care abt winning or being high ranking. or first, even, i just want the prizes from being at a certain rank/placing tbh. which is why.....................................oh im so tired of the ppl with lvl 120 fully awakened new ass units like i GET IT you have MONEY but i am not spending that much on a mobile game!!

i've been considering watching black clover since school's over for me and i finally have some time on my hands, and i was wondering what your opinion was? like what do u like most about it and whatnot. it seems pretty interesting!

I WOULD CONSIDER WATCHING OR READING IT 1000%

Ok first of my all time favorite thing about this series is the fact that the female characters actually get character development and are allowed to be strong. My biggest problem with shounen is the treatment of women and how they're never allowed to grow. Black clover is completely different in that regard bc all of the main characters get development and a lot of the strongest characters are women (for example mereoleona, dorothy, Charlotte, Charmy, Noelle, etc..) Its such a nice break from the typical shounen and it makes it so easy to get attached to characters!! It's also amazing to not have any crushes be the sole personality of the gals and have them yk exist out of the sphere of influence of the guys.

it's a found family kind of thing and I'm kinda in love with all the characters (yami is the somewhat reluctant father figure if I'm being honest) !! like I said above they all get a lot of development and its honestly made me super invested into all of it. Theres a lot of sweet and emotional scenes between characters and it's nice to see how they change and grow:") There are a LOT of characters too so theres many you can get attached to!

The protagonist, Asta, is very well written. A lot of people complain about him being loud but he is a very lovable character and slowly understanding why he tries to be loud whenever he feels defeated is kind of amazing??? Hes also very kind hearted and compassionate towards everyone (ik this sounds weird but hes like a rock Lee naruto and knuckles (hxh) lovechild (??)).

I also love that him and his rival, Yuno, have a super healthy relationship and actually support each other yk?? it's not a toxic rivalry and the genuinely care and love each other.

if you're a fan of worldbuilding?? black clover has a lot of it and are the moment we are in an arc were we are getting a lot of lore on different nations (and I kinda predict we are going to get some more insight on different races within the black clover universe ( dwarfs, elves, etc..)). Idk if you saw but I legit spent like 30 mins today just talking about what the different religions in black clover could be.

The plot is also super good and honestly addictive bc I could not put my phone down while I was reading it. I dont want to spoil anything but it's aaaaa really good.

-the anime is a bit less fast paced than the manga but it is still really good!! if you prefer things to be faster paced I 100% recommend you read the manga first (theres ton of websites you can read it for free!)

gay rights are stored in the rat!!! i’m glad marchy has been pretty open about his support of LGBT stuff, particularly within hockey. also i feel like some of the stuff he’s said in interviews or social media (esp re: lickgate) manages, even if not intentionally, to be quite diminutive towards implicit homophobia or ‘toxic masculinity’ within hockey. okay maybe that that was poorly expressed but basically he just doesn’t give a shit and appears very open and accepting and i think that’s super nice. this picture also makes for a good reaction image when someone says something dumb

that’s my pest™. honestly i think lickgate is one of the best scandals in recent hockey history. when looking for a good image of this is saw an article where some dipshit reporter was outraged about it and was like “how would you feel if someone just came up and liked you?” i mean what if someone just came up and started punching you or hip-checked you into the wall????? hockey is a nasty game a lot of the time, and instead of giving people concussions or broken bones (not that he hasn’t in the past ik…) marchy managed to make opposing teams just as angry, if not moreso, just by licking players. i think it’s fucking hilarious. and most of them took it well in hindsight anyway - i think it was komarov who said he kinda liked it lmaoooooo. peak bradley kevin antics if you  ask me

brad waving the towel in surrender is just about the funniest thing i’ve ever seen someone do in the penalty box… i can’t believe they gave him a 10 minute misconduct for it, something i think they’d wouldn’t have done if it had have been someone else. at least someone in this league has a goddamn sense of humour. the penalty minutes stat in the corner just makes this even better

brad, once again, showing us how we should deal with people talking shit about us - just get on board with it. i love how much he’s just embraced his massive nose and his height and his general reputation. idk if it’s really deliberate but i think it’s such a good message to send, and it makes for some pretty funny stuff too.

brad single-handedly keeps nhl refs in a job. in my bruins drinking game™ you have to take a shot every time the ref has to physically restrain marchy (2 if it’s because he was going to get revenge or fend for bergy) and you could get fucked off that alone during some games. it was nice to see him not actually get suspended this year, but i will always love that he’s such a physical player and quite the pest on the ice :))

not gonna lie i absolutely hated jungkook in bbgt but after that moment with jennie in the tenth chapter, i think i kind of understand now where he was coming from. doesn't mean what he did is automatically excused tho bcs what he really said to yn in the prev chapters were really horrible. if there is some kind of redemption arc for him, i hope it'd be a lot of character development, him dealing with his personal issues in a healthy way etc. and not just him but yn also because i see her as a very fragile individual. ik some people hate pushover female characters but some women (or people) can't be confident, strong, and opinionated and that's ok bcs we don't know that their experiences were.

also i would just really want to thank you so much for your writing. your characters are very flawed but im glad that you added some who are aware and are guiding them thru their journey of becoming better versions of themselves. kinda like in real life. the emotions are well-conveyed and your writing style is very exquisite!!

and yes! i purposefully included the three pov’s from three diff people on the matter, and some of them more aware of the context than the rest. the moment with jennie was vital since oc has always seen herself as the ‘other’ woman, not knowing the nature of jk’s and jennie’s relationship! 

absolutely; what he said is inexcusable, and I did write the conversations between oc, yena, joon and jennie to be quite vague if you will, so I could leave it up to readers to interpret what it meant! jk does have a lot of character development to do, and hopefully we’ll see more of that in the chapters to come :)

oc has her own set of problems to deal with, and I think things are starting to look brighter for her after the conversations she had and now that jm and tae knows of what happened. she’s no longer alone ❤️

and thank you so much for being a reader and this lovely message! i tried to write the characters with a very ‘human’ nature to them. more often than not, fanfic is usually self-indulgent so it’s nice to imagine the characters as the perfect person; which there isn't a problem with! just as long as we’re able to pick apart fiction from reality.

under a read more bc i can’t shut up about anything regarding lance ever and it got long lol

tbh i’m actually… pretty neutral about the name discourse as of right now? like if they give lance a cuban last name, i’d still be stoked, and i’d obviously change my url because it’d be obsolete and insensitive to lance’s actual canon name. 

but as of right now, where we only have lance’s first name that is canon? i don’t have a strong opinion other than that like automatically having a white sounding last name doesn’t automatically mean you’re white washing. my grandma, who was born and raised in mexico, full blooded mexican with no white people in her parentage, has a white sounding last name due to her own reasons, and she’s not anymore white than i am for having a white sounding first AND last name lol. i just feel like if you hc him from cuba and being directly from cuba and use mcclain, you need to consider a valid reason for why he’d have that last name. (for example, i use my grandma’s reason for changing her name for why i use mcclain rn. she married a man with a non latinx last name, and i hc the same for lance’s mom after she divorced lance’s biological dad, hence mcclain. it really is just me self projecting my family onto lance’s lol. my nina who’s cuban has a white last name because of marriage also, but she and her children are still cuban.) 

which considering all of this, opens up a lot of interesting ideas for lance and his family’s backstory, while remaining true to the fact that he is a boy from cuba, with cuban roots, and a cuban heritage that isn’t erased by someone’s name.

HOWEVER, i see where the other side is coming from because us latinxs tie very heavily with our names and are very proud of where we come from. our names are a part of our culture, just like our language is, and just like any other tradition we have. it’d be ignorant of me to say that names don’t matter, because while it doesn’t apply to me personally (my first name is ashley… the whitest name ever… lol. so i dont consider myself being white washed, bc im still half mexican regardless), i know that isn’t the case for other latinxs and it’s important to respect that.

i just think when hc-ing lance with a last name, it’s important to really think about the why’s and how come’s of it. i trust latinxs who use mcclain more than los gringxs based on mere principal alone, because i know their intentions aren’t malicious. it’s also important that if you want to hc lance with a cuban last name that it IS an actual cuban last name and not one from the many other beautiful countries of latinxamerica, because our cultures aren’t interchangeable, and neither are our names. (i.e. stop using ‘sanchez’ as a last name in fics now. it’s 2017. he’s confirmed cuban. sanchez is not a popular name for cubans, but for mexicans. please stop nothing makes me exit out of a fic faster than seeing this.) 

but again, i’m not cuban/from cuba, i’m from the states, and i’m not speaking for the whole voice of the latinx community when i type this. i’m just putting my own and my grandma’s experience with having white sounding names and how it affects us and how it doesn’t take away from our heritage or where we come from, because that is a lot of what i’ve seen/taken from this discourse that honestly does sting a bit, but i’m just one voice. 

tldr; i think right now, since nothing is canon, it’s all about being respectful to lance’s cuban heritage, not erasing that, and trying to be respectful to latinxs who want lance to have a cuban last name and latinxs who are alright with mcclain. if lance is confirmed with a cuban last name, then this discourse is automatically over, and we use that. but for now, it’s about being respectful and open minded to latinxs who have different experiences.

surprise guy minhee over here!! minhee has grown on me a lot which i also think has to do w his deeper timbre and he works well in the manly concept, not much else to say here

ik that people were pissed that he got in over jinhyuk n i understand that bc yeah jinhyuk but eunsang is basically my dark horse of x1 like he actually also works so well in the concept like his voice is really smooth and he has wonderful expression on stage so he works for me

hyeongjun never did it for me tbh even in the show and again he still doesn’t do it for me! there i said it! i do appreciate the deeper quality of his voice in the like two whole lines that he has in flash and he’s a good dancer but i keep forgetting that he’s in x1 just like junho so again i could drop and i don’t feel like the group would feel that different

but dohyon (i hate that spelling every time i want to type dohyun instead but kpop profiles says dohyon so who am i to argue??) is a lock for me because again even tho he’s so young he meshes so well and again maybe that’s his vocal tone! but also he’s such a strong rapper and integrates so perf into the group

tldr; if you took out junho and hyeongjun (maybe even dongpyo) i wouldn’t notice at all but i appreciate that minhee and eunsang were in the final lineup
