X7/Locust City Act's V Plot Details, Tasks, and Endings!

hi everyone! I created a new sideblog EXCLUSIVELY so that I can post this text (I figured my main account is shadowbanned or smth) ANYWAY

you can read the 1-5 Acts' Summaries done by @parasolemn! They've done an amazing job and I wanted to take part in deciphering too, hehe

note: English is not my first language therefore word-guessing can be pretty hard for me. There are some minor places I couldn't undestand so I would highly appreciate your help!

PLOT DETAILS ACT V

So what is Cunoesse’s story?

Cunoesse has brought Cuno to Hämärä Maa as a replacement for a kid she drowned three years ago.

Cuno and Jaakko – the drowned kid – don’t have much in common. Both are/were boys with red hair, and about the same build but that’s about it. Only a child’s mind would come up with a plan to replace the dead kid with an ‘identical’ one so she’d be accepted back in her tribe.

But Cuno can’t just be like Jaakko, he has to *become* Jaakko.

The Suru(?) have a coming-of-age rite that involves drinking a brew made of the bone marrow of a blind underwater cave fish. This experience has sometimes profound, sometimes devastating effect on one’s consciousness.

Perhaps this “Naming Ceremony” doesn’t happen until the Hämäräns are 10 years old, so that’s why Cunoesse never got her name, and this is the pretense under which she lures Cuno into the ceremony – a name for herself (but Cuno doesn’t know it’s also going to be a new name for him.)

Cunoesse believes that if she subjects Cuno to this ceremony and “spirit guides” him through this process Cuno might actually *become* Jaakko. Or at least accept he’s Jaakko now. She’s been laying foundation for this transformation throughout this whole journey.

Cunoesse’s people thought her dead, drowned with the boy. Hardly anyone could recognize her at first sight.

Maybe Cunoesse hid the body (under a rock in one of the caves) before she fled Hämärä Maa, so in her mind no-one can definitively claim the kid she brought back isn’t Jaakko.

Psychedelic Sequence

We want this to be a truly visually … and spectacular setpiece where you can bind the rules of everything <…> and apply dream logic.

The entire underwater showdown will be in FELD.

We can depart form/ play with the … perspective, switching into a side-view showing the vastness of the dark screen, with the C&C small figures sinking.

Experiment with overlays, filters as well as tainted and/or 3D mode/ed addictions (??) in the scene, showing people, motifs and icons elements from their journey. There can be lots of … with the visual elements reflecting decisions the players has made throughout the game.

Competitive Red Checks are the key now feature we want to test here, to create unique playthroughs and the impression of truly “fighting yourself” as the rolled value of Cuno or Cunoesse’s Red Checks affects the difficulty of the other’s counter attack.

For the first time, … and commune with each other.

Cunoesse comes out of the trip with +1 Psyche is she lives.

Blue notes:

Multiple life/death outcomes.

Swarm/Locust City side-plot reaches its conclusion.

New home for Locusts

Funeral cultural event

TASKS ACT V

The path through Act V is still largely TBD

In its bare minimum implementation Hämärä Maa could have the same density as the Deserter’s Island finale of Disco Elysium, where the game’s entire conclusion is communicated through a small number of characters – three very extensive and immersive dialogues (one of which is a stylized dream sequence) followed by a posse epilogue. Although railroaded, Disco’s finale had a “page-turning” quality to it that we should aim for as going too much into the mundane idle of the Hämärans would kill the pacing. However, since the entire journey has been about getting to the island, we should give the player at least a little more to see and do than the Deserter’s Island did.

An example of how the task chain at Hämärä Maa could look:

Face Cunoesse’s folks

Find a new home for the Locust City.

Learn how the brew works

Make the brew

Go to the caves

Survive the caves

Bring “Jaakko” to his parents.

Reactivity/Outcomes

Cuno drowns and Cunoesse is this time for real exited by her people

Cunoesse drowns and Cuno returns to Jamrock alone.

ENDINGS

Ending 1 – Jaakko Ending

Location: Hämärä Maa

Cunoesse is alive, Cuno is brainwashed

Notes:

Cunoesse’s manipulations worked. Cuno has fully internalized Jaakko.

The scene closes with Cuno diving dead-eyed among the Hämäran boys. He’s one of them now.

Loss of Identity. No more Cuno-sentences.

Ending 2 – Pale Ending

Cunoesse is dead, Cuno is alive

Location: Tréville, deserted

Notes:

With Cunoesse dead, Hämärä Maa holds nothing for Cuno anymore. He turns back, aimless.

He lands back in Tréville and finds it deserted. The prison has finally moved.

Cuno sits with him. With Cunoesse’s death, Cuno’s prison has left him too. The thing about freedom is that no one tells you where to go.

Cuno waits with the prisoner indefinitely. We fade to white and roll credits.

Ending 3 – Bad Ending

Cunoesse is dead, Cuno is dead

No notes, no location

Ending 4 – Circle Ending

Cunoesse is alive, Cuno is dead

Notes:

With Cuno dead and her plan failed Cunoesse must exile herself from Hämärä Maa again.

She goes into another Murder Hangover, back to sleep and hibernation.

I finally made a lazytown sideblog which meeeeeans! I can finally talk about the fic I’ve been writing on tumblr! If you’re often in the sportarobbie ao3 tag you may have seen this haha

Robbie Rotten and Sportacus agree to an arranged marriage on behalf of their respective (fae for Robbie, elf for Sportacus) courts. After the initial shock of realizing they agreed to marry their rival, Robbie and Sportacus start to figure out how exactly to live together. There are 15 chapters out right now (almost 30k word count) and I try to update weekly!

🤡 What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh?

Oh my god this is like, the worst question for me, I basically only write sad stuff or at least I don’t go very funny most of the time. The only thing that really came to mind was in “warmer years than you’ve grown used to since then”, between alt!jt and polkadot.

“Are you still in Halifax, or-?”

“Ah, no, I’m in the Core.”

“You’re fucking where?” Jessie shouts. What the hell had she missed? “Polkadot Patterson what the fuck are you doing in- sorry, do you mean the core of the fucking planet or am I missing something?”

“A little bit of both? But yes, I am in the literal core right now. Blaseball is like that.”

“Yeah I guess it is dude!”

It’s not particularly funny but it makes me smile.

I HAVE SO MANY IT’S SUCH A PROBLEM. like stuff that’s still in my folder:

flowers short circuits fic about lyra vitamin and lila icicle that i started on christmas 2021 and have touched once or twice since.

at least 3 parker/wyatt fics

a fic about lenny marijuana and alaynabella hollywood and instability

a fic about s2 sausage writing down the fleeting memories he has of the past

a rewrite of s1 of empires’ ending where the twins don’t leave sausage behind

and MORE! i have problems.

🦅 Do you outline fics or fly by the seat of your pants?

9/10 no. i’ve outlined 3 things ever, and everything else i’ve gone in with an idea of where i wanted to start, end, and maybe some specifics in between and said “alright now let’s find out how i get there”. i am the definition of letting the characters speak through me because that’s how things happen for me, i rarely go in with specifics. the only things i think i’ve EVER outlined are the york chapter of “you’ve got a pulse, you’ve got a problem” because i kept forgetting what season he ended up on the garages, the nagomi chapter of that that i’ve basically abandoned cause i kept forgetting what season she was on x team as well, and an empires fic that my friend and i planned to write together that hasn’t made it past the outline phase (sorry for airing out our dirty laundry vani but maybe that’ll make us actually finish it lol).

ooo this is a fun one. i just started a new empires one, we’ll see if i post it here when it’s done or if i finally cave and make a mcyt sideblog. but it’s basically a conversation between sausage and blood sausage/bratwurst, because i feel like nobody ever acknowledges that they were literally the same person for a while?? and this results in people giving blood sausage WAY less nuance, either totally woobifying him or totally woobifying sausage to make blood sausage look worse. and i think that’s a disservice to both of them and i’ve got so many thoughts about them and their relationship so hopefully this actually gets done before he is no longer a plot point.

I’ve never written one and I’d be down to explore one ... It’s just with Molly she is.. Very hard to poly ship with.

She has INSANE insecurity and inferiority complex so like. It’s hard. She’s SUPER easily jealous and like. It’d be unhealthy for her to be put in that situation BUT

There’s been some scenarios where she’s been like. Okay with the idea -- only like. Twice really and funnily enough both involve Angel so like SKDJ (obviously, not dating Angel, but them dating the same person. Shenanigans!)

Molly spends them curled up inside! Probably reading a book or watching some television if anything catches her fancy. I spend them also curled up inside on the computer as well, but I tend to like having my window open and listening to the rain! I love rainy weather sobs

I sat up to write this reply I want you to know.

I was first introduced to Molly as a character by @/stripesncigs when they were getting me into Hazbin and giving me a list of all the characters. When I first saw Molly it was love at first sight. Literally. I was so focused on her I just.. I don’t know, it was a deep connection. I remember I legit changed my icon to be of Molly like within the next minute. I remember scouring for art for her, and back then it was SO hard to find ANY Molly content, there was probably only like.. four pieces of popular fanart and one artist who doodled a lot of her.

I was like. Hyper fixated. And it sucked because Tord told me legit “there’s only two bits of canon info” and I just rolled with it.

I remember the two of us going back and forth with funny spider fam scenarios, I already brewed up my headcanons and perception of her.

I remember I saw like. One or two blogs for Molly at the time when I was in Tumblr RP and had one foot in the Hazbin RPC (I had an Alice Angel blog at the time w/ a Hazbin verse) and I just.. Didn’t like how she was portrayed, not my cup of tea. Same in some posts and art I’ve seen of her.

A lot of people painted her as like. Soft uwu baby and like. Cry baby and thing that needed Angel or Arackniss to protect her and I just... No? Lol.

She grew up in an Italian crime family, she’s named after the drug of Ecstasy. She isn’t like. uwu baby uwu.

So, I finally decided to delve into Hazbin RPC like. With an actual muse for Hazbin. The idea of rping Molly has been on my mind a LOT but since we had like. No canon info and she was a character not very well known it made me hesitant, as well as feeling like I would be intruding on my friends who rp’d Angel and Arackniss and had their set lore for where the hell Molly was.

Finally said fuck it and caved and I did ONE test reply as her and it was immediate. I made the sideblog and fell in love. It was originally low activity because I didnt think I’d be active here but low and behold I write here more than any other blog and wish I did make this it’s own blog, but, ah well.

Molly is a character I just immediately felt connected with. She resonates deeply with me! She’s very important to me and like.. Is my baby! I care so much about this spider. She grew and has changed so much over the like.. A little over a year, year and a half, since I’ve been introduced to her. Both on my blog AND like. In the community.

Causation doesn’t equal correlation but since my creation of the blog I’ve seen a LOT more recognition for Molly, she began being mentioned more in streams (and once even someone donated 5 dollars for Viv to Draw Alastor hugging Molly and I was dead.) and Tord has told me, who has been in Viv’s circle since the dawn of time, that Molly in the fandom/media has changed to fit more how I portrayed her than when she was first around as little baby fussy Molly.

So many people told me they had no idea who Molly was until me, told me they thought Molly was straight up on OC and also have made so many people fall in love with this spider with me.

And honestly I can not be more thankful.

So, simply put

tl:dr: her design was cute, I felt connected immediately and decided to rp her because I was tired of how people seemed to portray her as and I wanted to finally join the hazbin rpc, essentially.

Hi, I'm finally making an Arcana sideblog after literal years of lurking in the tags.

I caved in and wrote my first fanfic ever today and wanted to put it somewhere, but oh boy do I not want my friends irl to see it. None of them have read the Arcana anyway. So here I am.

My MC, Celeste, is literally just the ultimate Mary Sue, embarrassing self-insert, shifter oc I made and have used in literally everything since I was like 7 years old. There's not an original thing about her and you can pry her out of my cold, dead hands.

I genuinely love all the LIs except for Lucio. My general personal canon is Julian's route, but ultimately JulianxMCxAsra plus Muriel except I don't really see him ever fully meshing with Julian. I adore NadiaxPortia.

Umm that's it for now I guess, I'll probably post my fic in a few hours.
