how do you find public spaces to fuck (re:the rooftop + dyke)?
sincerely, horny lez
Good question, I will answer it in this response eventually, but first, you have to sit through me intellectually jerking myself off for a moment because I think it may provide some useful perspective.
Public sex has been part of my life for as long as I've been having physical sex at all. As an adolescent it was mostly out of necessity, but these days it's mostly out of convenience. The vast majority of the sex I've had in the last year or two has been public.
I think it's important to clarify that for me at least, public sex is not an act of exhibitionism. If there's any sort of philosophy behind it besides sheer utility, I'd say it's something like not allowing our society's mores and hangups around sex and privacy dictate the terms on how and where we (especially as gay people) engage with our sexuality.
I think there's this gut impulse many people have--including many gay people--around public sex, and I think it speaks to the reactionary view of human sexuality that is unfortunately the stock standard in these times. For many, the idea of people having sex in public gives them some sort of 'ick' that they can't seem to articulate.
Often discussions around public sex are framed like this: "if I walked in on people having sex, it would make me uncomfortable, I didn't consent to that, so people should not be having sex in public." It would be fairly reasonable to experience discomfort in this imagined scenario--in fact, I think most people probably would--and that discomfort isn't a problem. The problem is that the premise assumes a few crucial points, notably that 1. Walking in on public sex is a common occurrence and/or the desired outcome for those engaging in it 2. Discomfort is a form of harm 3. Exposure to (non-hegemonic) human sexuality is capable of causing some kind of nebulous psychic damage to the witness.
To the first point: in my decade or so of regular public sex, I can only think of one instance where I was actually walked in on. It was an alley off of a major road and probably only at around 1030p. I mention this because we absolutely would have chosen a different, more secluded location/time if we were doing anything other than fully clothed kink and maybe some kissing, because again, the goal for most is not exhibitionism; no one really wants to be walked in on, so we choose locations where it is less likely that we will be.
To the second point, I have little to say besides that it simply isn't. Discomfort is an everyday part of life and is something all people experience regularly without calls to stop every potential source of it. So what is it about this topic that makes people react this way?
This leads us to the third point: non-hegemonic modes of sexuality are treated as degenerative and caustic and therefore must be hidden (or eradicated) entirely from the public sphere. It is the classic double standard; think of things like the "Don't Say Gay" or "DADT" laws or more broadly the attempt to remove even the mention of the existence of gays from curriculum. Most of the people who fight for such measures likely don't take the same issue or action with a 48 foot billboard for the local strip club or with a heterosexual couple kissing on screen.
And while the spot that people place the line may differ greatly, this ire against public sex still draws from the same well of reaction against perceived degeneracy that the fascist draws from. If this is not self evidently a negative thing to you, I have little I can say to convince you.
Some may be thinking 'okay, even if it is not harmful or degenerate, why do public sex?' To me, it is just as strange that so many keep their sex lives confined to the home and I could posit the same question. Neither way of doing things is any more natural or unnatural than the other, one is just the societal default. If it would bring you joy, why not engage in public sex?
The world is large, and if you know where to look, there are countless spaces you can carve out and stake the pervert's claim to. Alleyways, parks, bathrooms, rooftops, and beaches are the first to come to mind for me. To answer your question directly, you find them by making them and taking them.
Time is a large factor here as well. A given spot in a park at 9p may not be suitable, but might be more so by 11p, and even more so by 1a. My experience is that the later it gets, more spots become viable with less heavy precautions.
Another factor is coverage. An open field is riskier than behind a tree. The middle of an alley is riskier than behind a dumpster. You want to limit the amount of vectors through which you could be exposing yourself. I value coverage from sight lines over seclusion.
Something else you want to think about is whether or not you are on private property. If you are, it's possible that there are security personnel sitting in a car somewhere nearby or a resident who notices you. At that point, the issue is not even the sex, it's the fact you're there at all.
Finally, you always have to be ready to dip. Be aware of your surroundings as best you can, listen for cars and people, don't get too caught up in the moment that you're blinded. You gotta be ready to pull your pants up and walk quickly away. I'd rather be safe than sorry. If something's not right, get outta there. If you can't, well, don't have your dick out at least.
Anyway, all that to say go out and have fun. Good luck and enjoy yourself. The world has room for you to fit yourself into.

Representing a Jewish Historical Figure in Fiction
@aaronthe8thdemon asks:
I'm writing a historical fiction around a real-life event (Chernobyl) and am basing the characters around real people rather than using actual names. During the catastrophe, a Jewish American doctor went to Moscow to provide aid to critically irradiated patients, and… concisely, I may be overthinking this, but I'm concerned about "how Jewish" to make the character. In his memoir he admits his Jewishness is kind of lax but I don't want it to look like I've skipped out on research and got lazy representing him because that's a problem in a lot of media. I'm currently converting to Judaism myself. But, AFAIK, he's still alive in real life and I don't want to be insulting by insinuating that he's "not Jewish enough" by making it too visible/going over the top. I haven't begun writing the pertinent parts of the narrative yet because this dilemma is anxiety-provoking, and I'd appreciate any advice/opinions the Jewish mods might have, even if it's just that I'm overthinking it. PS, thank you for running this blog, I know it's a lot of work and I've learned so much by following you.
If you do research and write a historical figure accurately and someone takes issue with your accurate portrayal because it doesn’t fit their needs for representation, that seems misguided of them. We don’t have the same control over reality and history that we do over fiction, where we get to make all of the choices.
I guess the key is to not make this person’s secular Jewishness/lax Jewishness “loaded”, like stop letting it take up space. You know how I’m half German? I’m also a good portion Polish, on the other side, but I never talk about it or think about it because that half of my family turned their backs on Poland entirely because of antisemitic abuse (if you want to get into why the German side didn’t considering they had even worse reasons, that’s a whole separate topic about German Jewish identity but anyway). But I don’t walk around like “oh I am DISCONNECTED from my POLISHKEIT i am SO LAX at being POLISH” it’s just not… relevant?
Him being secular or whatnot is reality (apparently; I don’t know the guy), but the slant of your writing, the way your writing interprets that secularness, is on you and your tone and your approach. So if you are looking at born-Jews who are whatever about Jewishness a certain way because you’re currently doing all that intense study just to join the tent, that might be a good thing to go back and filter out on an editing pass.
–S
It’s true that I’ve called for more representation of Jewish people who fall outside the false dichotomy of Orthodox/Secular, so I think I have a responsibility to clarify that neither of those are inherently bad representation OR bad ways of being Jewish. No single instance of a Jewish character being shown as either Orthodox or nonpracticing is the problem, and a narrative that frames either as being bad is engaging in antisemitism even if Jewish people are involved in the production. The problem isn’t that both of those extremes gets portrayed but that the majority that exists between them never does. That said, you’re portraying a real person, not inventing a fictional character.
If you choose to erase the complexity of his real-life Jewish decisions--and I hope that in the course of this project you’re doing much more research into the realities for Soviet Jewry than I could handily include in this blog post--then that’s not as much better representation of someone like me than it is an implication that there’s something wrong with being someone like him. It denies the dignity of a nonpracticing Jewish identity, and that feels to me like more harm than an accurate and respectful portrayal of a real-life historical figure who did not, in his lifetime, engage in Jewish ritual practice.
It’s true that you’re fictionalizing the characters, and if your other characters are notably different than their inspirations it does less harm than if he were the only one fundamentally altered, but even so it feels like saying that ritually observant Jews are more “real” than nonpracticing ones.
Instead, as you research for this project and your upcoming conversion, I encourage you to look for clues to a Jewish outlook in the words and life of the real-life person. This is a doctor, someone who traveled to try to save lives and give comfort, and I defy the idea that because he did not observe ritual practice those choices were without basis in Jewish values.

Would love to myself corrupted into a new body lol Some douchebag…maybe some sleazy drug dealer with long hair who always makes demeaning comments, maybe he’s a a rocker or comedian. Or maybe some famous broadway actor turned awful. All womazing assholes and sleazy douchebags. Maybe a preppy. Conservative. Religious or some shit. Awful to women and gays. Long gross hair or short stylish. Chin strap. Smells. Hmmm. Young and dumb…..yeah could you please turn me into an awful straight man?
I’m sorry to say this, but I’m not sure how much I can help you here. It’s not that I can’t transform you like you're asking, I’m just not sure if I should. I don’t doubt that you want to become a straight douchebag, or have any reservations about making you into one in general. I’ve discussed enough douchebag transformations to be comfortable with them, and have even performed a few myself. My problem is that you don’t seem to know what it is you really want. It's one thing to say you want to be a straight douchebag, but when you list a bunch of different types of douchebags and then don’t clarify which one you’d actually like to become, well… It’s hard to know what direction to take this. When someone isn’t specific I usually just go with whatever I think is hot, but to be honest everything you listed is pretty hot, so it's pretty hard to choose. Do I make you into a sleazy, surprisingly muscular and dominant drug dealer who flaunts his ill gotten fortune, or a cool, charming and wild rockstar who constantly sleeps with fans and groupies? Should I transform you into a crude comedian who constantly goes for cheap and bigoted punchlines, or a religious, old money rich boy who's obsessed with his own superiority and good looks? The list of choices goes on and on, and I could come up with even more you didn’t even mention. So, what is someone supposed to do when faced with this many amazing options? Well, one answer is to just pick all of them! So instead of turning you into one straight douchebag, I’ll be turning you into 5 distinct douchebags. It’s… pretty hard to turn someone into multiple people, but I’ll be honest, it’s a challenge I’ve been looking forward to trying.
The first problem we’re going to have to fix is the souls. I know talking about souls is a little spiritual and technical to be talking about here, but it's actually an important part of magic. Magic cannot create or destroy life, or more accurately, a soul. A soul cannot be destroyed by magic, and a new soul can’t be created by one either. A situation where a new soul is created naturally can happen, and I’m fairly certain it has even happened before on this blog, but creating a new soul, a new person entirely from scratch? That's one of the only things magic can’t really do. So to get around that, we’re going to have to get a little unorthodox and, well, split your soul.
Now I know that sounds bad. If you’ve read the final entry of a certain popular YA novel, then you’re probably wondering if what I’m proposing is going to turn you into a noseless snake man. Rest assured that souls, while incredibly precious, are not as fragile as people think. They’re sort of like livers. You need one, and having a damaged one absolutely sucks, but if with enough time and help, any damage done to one will heal. All we need to do is have my devil friend Nick take a little bit off your soul, put that bit into 4 new bodies, and accelerate the healing process with some magic. It won’t be pleasant, and it will technically involve you allowing a literal devil to toy with your soul since for anyone but a devil it would be literally impossible, but it can be done, and Nick has always enjoyed new experiments. The best part of this one is that all 5 of them will still be you, deep down. You’ll be able to experience what it’s like to be all of them, and even change which one you’re consciously experiencing.
Now that we’ve got all that technical stuff out of the way, we can get into the fun part: the 5 new yous! We’re going to go down the line with what you described, starting with the sleazy douchebag drug dealer. He’s got long, untamed hair, a dull look in his eyes, and some surprisingly big biceps for someone who spends so much time high. Guess the steroids he both takes deals make the little time he actually spends working out all the more effective. He’s the kind of guy who lives by the idea that nothing comes for free, and takes payment in gas, grass or ass. He hates anyone who doesn’t work as hard as he does, or at least as hard as he thinks he does, and isn’t above ranting about all the handouts other people get. He’s a sleazy douche, but one hot enough to girl as much pussy as he wants, if his personality doesn’t send girls running

Your second new self is a bit more fun. Not that being a drug dealer douchebag isn’t fun, but let's face it, everyone wants to be a rockstar. The fame, the fortune, the crowds screaming your name, being a rockstar is every young man's dream, and that's not to mention the afterparties, the tours, and the many, many groupies. Your second self has known what he wants to be since he was young, and has never let anyone tell him otherwise. He’s not used to hearing no, and his cocky attitude is proof of it. He’s always confident, whether he’s rocking out on the stage, fucking a big titted bimbo, or showing off to his legions of fans. He’s also pretty buff, even for a rockstar, so you’re going to have a lot of fun as him

Your third self is also famous, just in a different way. This ones the comedian, and this body is actually asian, not white like you other ones, though you’d never be able to tell from his jokes. With his entitled personality, barrage of racist and homophobic jokes he constantly spews on and off stage, and general narcissism, he’s every bit the entitled American douchebag your other two selves are. The only real difference is that he’s good enough with his timing to attract a fair amount of like minded, usually equally douchey fans who think that because an asian guy is saying it, it can’t be racist. He’s not as successful as your rockstar self, but he’s definitely on his way up, and has been bragging that he’s going to get a netflix deal soon (even though he won’t).

Your fourth and fifth selves actually know each other in their new lives, weirdly enough, since they’re both frat boys. It can be a little disorienting being around someone who's basically another you, but it can also be kind of fun, and you don’t even have to say ‘no homo’ after a handjob, because with him it's basically just masturbation. Of course while they’re both frat boys, they’re actually fairly different. Your fourth self is a more traditional, preppy frat boy. The guy who wear too tight polos, flirts with every sorority girl he can, yells at gay guys about going against the bible while also having as much premarital sex as possible. The one who's going to grow up, get a job at his dads company, and become an even douchier executive. Your fifth self though, is more of a modern day frat boy. He doesn’t wear polos, and in fact almost never wears anything with sleeves. He’s a lot less subtle than number 4, and possibly a bit dumber, but he doesn’t care. He’s a manly stud who gets to fuck hot girls, hang out with his bros, and is certain he can make a on only fans if Football doesn’t work out. Fags may be annoying, but if they wanna pay to watch a video of him calling them pathetic, he’s not going to say no.

So, I’m happy to say that you now have 5 versions of yourself running around, each one a straight, sleazy douchebag. I guess the only question now is which body you’re going to inhabit first.

"Can they fall in love?"
Characters : Ness Alexis, Hiori Yo, Aiki Himizu
Content : Can they fall in love? How long would it take? And what conditions must be met for it to happen?
Disclaimer : I don't claim ownership of the characters, as well as claiming their personalities portrayed here as canon, this is my own interpretation of their trait and personalities and how I portrayed them is up to you whether or not you see it as canon or different.
Note : Thank you for the asks, really enjoyed doing this. And also if ever there was something amiss, or if I ever did a mistake on a characters backstory, please feel free to clarify, so I can adjust accordingly. Excuse grammatical errors.
Hiori Yo

Can they fall in love : Yes, for sure. Hiori doesn't seem to be incapable of it. He is a polite person, as described by numerous characters. Some people might think be would be emotionally unavailable due to his past, and I can see where some of those people might come from. Hiori's past is all about soccer, from the day he was born, his parents had made it their mission to ensure hiori would excel, as opposed to their failures in the past as athletes, where they always never seem to get the number 1 spot.
However, we can see glimpses of how this have strained his relationship with his parents. I mean, his parents made him, just to impose their unfulfilled aspirations on Hiori, which can be mentally draining. Normally anyone would shut themselves out from others, a case of emotional distance as a way to shield themselves. But then again, he doesn't. After seeing how he was still able to make a connection with Isagi and Nanase, we can't just say for sure this means he emotionally closed off. I cant see him fully succumbing to his parents emotional manipulation. Hiori has proven himself to be strong enough to realize what he wants.
He might not seek out relationships, but if fate grants him one, it would depend on both him and the person whether or not hiori sees them as worth it, or someone that he really wants.
This might be his first step of him realizing his wants and having something he genuinely wanted, and not putting it in the hands of his parents, but rather his. And his alone.
How long would it take : Hiori doesn't shut off people, like rin or kaiser. Nor is he unable to feel emotions. I would give him 5 months. Even more if possible because it would take a while for him to see someone in a romantic aspect, and want to date them.
What conditions must be met :
1. That person has spent enough time with him, and doesnt need constant Involvement. I feel like a controlling partner is a no for him. His parents are already enough
2. His type is questionable. And I don't know how to incorporate it, so I won't involve it, but if he has to choose who he wants to be with, his partner doesn't have to be involved with soccer, if his partner is involved though, then okay. But I have a feeling he would prefer it if his partner wasn't involved in soccer. Since not being involve in something he deems as a restraint, would make him view that person as a comfort zone.
In short, he can fall in love. There might be times where his partner experiences some space in their relationship, a space in which Hiori deems as appropriate. He would care for his partner, but his partner can only do so much and wouldn't be able to fix his problem. Atleast for him.
Ness Alexis

Can they fall in love : Of course. Ness falls into the category of emotionally manipulated people. Ness secretly craves for acceptance, for the magic that he himself believes in. Its such a shame it was used against him in the end. The lack of acceptance in one's family can affect how you proceed with life with the very thing that caused it. And for Ness, that was his belief of "magic". His family being scientists makes the situation both ironic but also pitiful. His beliefs were crushed by his own family— people that should've supported him instead of making him feel disregarded, which left a hole in his sense of self, which laid him vulnerable enough for Kaiser to take advantage of him. Ness was easily manipulated as he was in a vulnerable position. A position where he is deprived from the very thing he believes in, and so he seeks this concept in order to fulfill his beliefs.
It isn't a surprise if someone, maybe a potential love interest uses this against him as a way to gain his favor. Ness is vulnerable. So if the potential interest takes advantage of this fact, it wouldn't be so hard for Ness to attach himself to that person, falling in love wouldn't be too long.
But if I was being honest, someone that accepts him, is honest and doesn't manipulate him would be an ideal partner for Ness. For a healthy relationship, that person must be someone not cruel enough to use his vulnerability against him, but rather pull him out of it— bringing him out of potential toxic interactions with others who are cruel enough to use it against him.
He mentions his ideal type as someone that can handle their solitude. It's the complete opposite of how he is— he couldn't handle it and thus his solitude made him vulnerable. For me, this isn't just his "ideal type" but rather a reflection of the type of person that he both aspires to be, and can trust.
How long would it take : A manipulative person, who knows how to take advantage of his vulnerability, would take them less than 3 days. He would fall in love in a week if he starts to depend on that person, as they manipulate him. If someone is honest and genuine, it would still take the same amount of time but if they are honest, it means they won't use his vulnerability against him so it would take a few days longer. Their kindness and genuine affection wouldn't make him take so long to fall in love. A week or more.
What conditions must be met :
1. They don't shut him down
2. With the right interactions and moments where Ness truly feels happy or accepted.
In short, yes he can. It wouldn't even take as long but Ness would indeed fall in love with someone if it comes down it. Especially if he depends on that person more and more for their validation and acceptance. If he does end up with someone, he would be the most loyal person I know, as well as the most caring.
But right now, with Kaiser currently taking place in that hole that Kaiser manipulated his way into, it might go differently (let me know if you want me to further go deeper in this).
Aiki Himizu
Can they fall in love : he would but it would take a long time of trust. And by trust, it means gaining HIS trust. He grew up in a household where both of his parents are wearing faces every day. Faces that are "fake" and he constantly had to put up with their constant lies.
He is described as someone that has a snake-like personality. I think it fits him, Aiki's skills in the field involves mostly feints, which is really befitting considering how his entire character has a relation with lies— how he makes it his goal to figure out everyone's true colors in the field. Their true self. He believes that everyone's personality are built up from lies that they make up, which pushes him to expose people's true feelings. For him it's not in a case of being satisfied for making people lose it, but rather something deep inside him, wishes to see something genuine.
If he were to fall in love, it wouldn't be with someone that lies constantly. No. I cant see him wanting to pull himself in a place where he has to constantly guess what the person's true feelings are. He would like someone genuine. Someone that isn't laced with pure fakeness, but rather honesty. That person doesn't have to be a complete Saint to the point they'd have to mot lie their whole life. But he'd just want that person to be genuine enough for him, in a way that won't make him feel the discomfort he felt since childhood. It might be hard though, I feel like making him see that someone is genuine and isn't lying would take so much time. But once he trusts someone, he would see them as his comfort zone. Though his personality may not be as tamed when he trusts someone, if that person breaks his trust, he wouldn't trust again.
How long would it take : Very long. Maybe 9 months max? It might lessen if he can feel that person's honesty and he wouldn't see himself second guessing anymore.
What conditions must be met?:
1. That person gains his trust
2. That person is patient
In short, yes he can. But it takes time. Trust takes time. But once he trusts, that person can never break it, otherwise he would totally have a much harder time trusting then and his second guessing persona would worsen.

for @corrodedcoffinfest prompt 'let's talk about that'
rated t | 990 words | no cw | tags: therapy, gareth pov, personal growth, self-discovery
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
Gareth hates therapy.
Okay, hate might be a strong word.
He dislikes it strongly and wishes he could just write in a journal or something.
“Let’s talk about that some more,” the therapist, Jessica, smiled encouragingly.
“Talk about what?” He genuinely has no clue what she wants to hear more about.
“Your need for validation from your bandmates.”
Oh. That.
He wouldn’t really call it a need. He just doesn’t ever do anything that they’d dislike him doing. Even if it would make him happy.
“I don’t know what you mean.”
“You mentioned that sometimes you have ideas for songs, but you know one of them won’t like it, so you don’t suggest it. Why don’t you give it a try even if they don’t like it?” She clarified.
“It’s not that easy.”
“Why not?”
“Because Jeff and Eddie basically run the band. They come up with most of the shit we do, I just add the drums,” he explained. “It’s worked that way this long, why disrupt the flow?”
“Do they tell you not to give your opinion?”
“Of course not. They always ask what I think.”
“And you choose to not give them honesty.”
“I…”
He didn’t realize that’s what was happening. And he hates that it took a therapist to figure it out.
“I’m not lying to them!” He rushed to say.
“Maybe not. But you’re not being completely truthful, either. Do you think they’d be upset if they knew that you were holding back to maintain the peace?”
Gareth hates therapy.
If Steve hadn’t insisted they all go twice a month, he wouldn’t even be here. If Sam hadn’t backed Steve up, a knowing smirk on his face when Gareth and Frankie argued they didn’t need therapy, he would be sitting on his couch or behind his drums.
“I guess there’s a chance they would be a little upset,” he finally admitted. “But not nearly as upset as if I disagreed with them and we argued.”
“How do you know a disagreement would lead to an argument?”
“Because all disagreements lead to arguments. Arguments lead to fights and silence and cold shoulders. Cold shoulders lead to people not wanting to be around each other anymore.”
Damn, Jessica was fucking good at her job. He didn’t even mean to say all that.
He didn’t even know he felt all that.
“Is this a pattern you’ve experienced before?” She set her notepad aside, all attention on him.
“I guess, yeah. My parents. My older brother and my dad. My grandparents and my mom. My first best friend.” He shrugged. “Just easier to go along with things. It’s not like I’m not happy.”
“Settling and being happy are two different things.”
“I am happy. Really.”
He is. He’s never been happier, actually. He gets to do the coolest job in the world with his best friends, he has a boyfriend he loves more than anything, and he gets to drink his favorite coffee every morning. Life is great.
“Do you think that happiness stems from the peace you’ve forced yourself to accept or from being content in your life?” Jessica leaned forward.
“Do you do this with everyone? Is this magic?” He asked, suddenly having the overwhelming urge to cry or run or both.
She laughed. “No, it’s not magic. It’s just understanding my people. You don’t give me much to work with, but sometimes something sticks out and I can run with it.”
“Seems like magic.” He sighs. There’s no way out of this conversation. “What am I supposed to do? Cause problems until no one wants me in the band anymore?”
“No. Do you want actual advice or do you wanna try to figure it out yourself?” She leaned back in her chair. “I’m pretty sure you won’t like my advice.”
“I don’t like most of what you say.”
“Fair enough.” She smiles. “I think you should try being honest next time there’s something you have a different opinion on. No one is going to hate you or want you out of the band. They value your opinion or they wouldn’t have you there to begin with.”
“Easier said than done.”
“Not necessarily. It’s only as hard as you make it.” She makes a note in the planner next to her. “I’m expecting you to give me at least one example of doing this by our next session.”
“Homework? I’m busy enough!” Gareth didn’t want this to get in the way of tour prep. They were starting rehearsals next week and had a few last minute adjustments to make on their album before the tour started.
“And it’s the perfect time to speak up,” she raised a brow, daring him to continue arguing. When he didn’t, she spoke again. “I’m not expecting you to do it all overnight. Just once.”
“Fine.”
****
The first rehearsal was a shit show. It always is, but everyone’s nerves were shot today after barely sleeping and a flight delay keeping two of the tech managers unavailable for an extra few hours.
Frankie snapped on him earlier, but he walked away. That wasn’t the time to follow Jessica’s advice.
Eddie stormed from the room a few minutes ago, said he needed a break to call Steve. He’d been arguing with his guitar tech over which of his five guitars to use for a song.
Gareth started to speak up to give his opinion, but Eddie was already too frustrated.
See, Jessica? This is why you should stay quiet.
But Eddie came back a few minutes later and asked Gareth what he thought.
“The one you use for Blue Night is probably what you should use for Invade. Sounds are similar enough for those songs,” he said without thinking.
“Yeah, you’re right,” Eddie agreed, knocking his shoulder against Gareth’s. “Thanks, man.”
“Dunno why he listens to you and not me,” the guitar tech grumbled.
Gareth smiled.
Okay, Jessica. Maybe you were right this time.

Ruby: Nothing inside of anyone should ever be described as "THE BEAST".
Blake: I'd love to have a beast within me Chat: O_O Blake: Just saying
Ruby: I mean, I can let some stuff, like, "THE WOLF IS COMING OUT!" Like, that one has some legs. I'm just sayin'. But if you say, "The Beast", it's like, dude, chill... relax.
Blake: I meant like beauty and the beast........ does that make it better chat
Ruby: "I'd love to have a beast within me" is what Blake is saying. "I mean like Beauty and The Beast, does that make it better, Chat?" Blake, that actually makes it WORSE.
Ruby: I knew Blake was a furry.
Blake: what the fuck I am not
Ruby: I'm not judging you, but uh... I'm gonna make it public knowledge.
Ruby: "What the fuck I am not". Blake, listen, at the very least, you're a closet furry. You're not coming out and saying it with your chest is the problem here. Like, I swear to the Brothers, you've got, like, 17 different furry-based conversation topics. Like, you've said, and I quote and I'm gonna put up on stream, too, "God, I really want a khajiit to absolutely fuck me"!
Blake: Khajiit fuckers rise up Blake: The freaks come out the instant Ruby starts talking Blake: Fish man fans? Anyone? Looking Blake: You love the fish man and you know it Blake: Watch the movie youll get it Blake: I blinked and missed a hot khajiit? Blake: Show me the beefcake
Ruby: I mean it! You actually said that! You have said it in my chat! So you can't keep doing this whole "I didn't fucking say that" BECAUSE YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS!
Ruby: "I want a beast inside of me~!" and then you choose to establish afterwards, rather than leaving it vague and up to interpretation, you say "No, I mean Beast from Beauty and the Beast inside of me NOW"! BECAUSE I'VE GOT NEWS FOR YOU, BLAKE! You can't then be, "But I'm not a furry~!"
Blake: BEAST FROM BEAUTY AND THE THE BEAST IS NOT A FURRY OKAY Blake: HES A BEAST Blake: THATS ALL
Ruby: Let's chill. Let's relax here. I'm not judging you. But it's exhausting when I acknowledge what it is and you say, ""NUH UH~! WRONG~! WRONG~! HE'S A BEAST~!"
Ruby: If I pull him up, I'm going to see nothing but hair. Alright? Nothing but hair, top to bottom. And then I'm gonna see tusks. Fucking under tusks! Because you're fucking kidding me if you're telling me that's not a furry. That is a furry!
Blake: Some men are hairy though
Ruby: IT AIN'T A MAN, THOUGH! ALRIGHT?! BECAUSE IF HE WAS A MAN, THEN HE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN HIDING IN A FUCKING CASTLE IN THE MOUNTAIN BECAUSE EVERYONE KNEW HE WAS A MONSTER!
Ruby: If he was a man, he'd just say, "Welp, guess I gotta shave today~!" The issue wasn't "Oh, I need to find a razor~!" He said, "A FUCKING WITCH TURNED ME INTO A BEAST!" A beast! "It also turned everyone in my mansion into frickin' tupperware!" WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!
Ruby: It's not called, "Beauty and the Hairy Man" now is it?! If you walk up to a bear and you shave them, they're not "a man now". Because I've got news for you, that's not how it works! That is a beast! Still a beast.
Blake: To clarify I don't want to fuck Chewbacca
Ruby: ...I am going to be super honest right now. Chewbacca is a wookie. And the Beast in Beauty and the Beast is LITERALLY a wookie. Like, it is a wookie! That is a wookie.
Ruby: If I pull up a picture of those two things, 9/10 people are gonna say, "That's a wookie". Meanwhile, one Blake is gonna say, "NUH-UH! NUH-UH!"

What irks me most about the drama surrounding Jikook, is that people keep pretending it’s not specific to them. The invasion of privacy? No, because it happens to all celebrities all the time, including other BTS members. All of them having stalkers and people who want to know their every move, people who post about them in efforts to gain popularity, and etc. However, it’s only ever when it concerns Jimin and Jungkook that the fandom starts lashing out and making it a “shipper problem.
People are once again “siding” with antis and TK shippers, saying only Jikookers are the worst of the fandom and don’t respect the guys, and amp up their tweets about not sharing private photos, buts it’s like… where are y’all when it’s TK shippers spreading supposed sightings of them hanging out? Spreading pictures of TJen. Where was the whole fandom meltdown when that monk went to the press about Namjoon’s concerns? Yes, people said, “Oh, that’s not good. That’s fucked up.” But y’all were not screaming about how the fandom has gone downhill and their lives were at stake.
Where were y’all when people posted about T and Hobi in Hawaii? Yes, it was after they left and the guys thanked them for waiting, but they still took pictures of them without their consent. They still invaded their privacy. Same as when fans pop up at their homes or place of work. Jin was given/almost given medication by a stalker. JK just had a stalker at his house. Yet no one was going this crazy over demanding their privacy be respected. So what is the difference here?
Again, I do think fans have less respect for Jimin and Jungkook, but I don’t think that is Jikook shipper centered. Especially because not every fan who sees them out and about are Jikook shippers, and it doesn’t make any sense to pretend that is the case. This fandom just genuinely has a problem with people showing any sort of interest in JM and JK as a duo, because the whole damn fandom knows they have a Different relationship.
Does everyone ship them? No, but it’s not rocket science to notice they treat each other differently. There’s even a tweet going around about how all the members act exactly the same, and people who hate Jikook under the guise of shipping being gross, have latched onto it to say that disagreeing equals forcing a sexual angle to Jikook’s bond. Meaning now, people can’t even defend their friendship and closeness without it being called over-sexualization.
So again, it’s not that people shouldn’t or can’t be justifiably upset at the constant invasion of privacy, but to act as if Jimin and JK aren’t genuinely close and have made decisions regarding each other that they have not made regarding the others, is bullshit. The two of them are very close and they clearly like it that way. There is no need to frame it as anything other than a loving bond, because that’s what it is. If you don’t like them, so be-it, but stop the fake concern. As well, stop the mass outrage and dramatizing the situation in attempt to downplay Jimin and Jungkook’s relationship. No one is forcing anyone to ship them, but at least take them as they are.
And to clarify even more, I do not think anyone should be revealing their hotel locations nor constantly updating the timeline of their whereabouts. I do not think people should be going out of their way to find out where they are or using their work connections to get in close proximity of them. If it happens naturally, cool, but other than that, leave them alone. However, if you do happen to see them and choose to take a photo, wait until they’re gone from the area or you see they’ve left your country. That is the polite thing to do.
At the same time, Army needs to stop bullshitting. Jikook pisses people off no matter what they do, and it’s because for some reason the fandom does not like them together. Shippers and non-shippers alike, so it’s always going to be a bigger issue. And unfortunately, the fandom will never acknowledge the hypocrisy of the situation. Because people can “stalk” the members all they want so long long as it’s not Jimin and JK, and the fandom will only brush it off with, “Y’all are doing too much.”
Everybody need to get on a similar page and realize that celebs are normal people. Take your photo or whatever, but have some sort of discernment. Let them enjoy themselves before choosing to ruin their moment all because you went online clout. There it. It’s not about shippers or whatever. Respect them all, and respect their relationships with each other.

Hi!! Good faith arguer. Text is hard to have emotions come through so I hope that this sounds respectful!! I won't go through every bit of your post, just the bits I felt like personally responding too. If not totally cool to delete this.
I think the reason why critics and such bring up season 1 things despite it being season 2 is because they didn't feel properly addressed by Stolas. We the viewers absolutely see that Stolas sees something wrong in the transaction and the power dynamic and wants to change that! But they don't feel fully conveyed to Blitzo, which feels frustrating, unfair, and hypocritical. If this makes sense?
Stolas in full moon had the right ideas of offering an out of the *relationship* that wasn't right and basically trying to put them on equal grounds that Blitz can choose to stay on (I really like Stolas's "But I want you to..."). But it lacks addressing these previous interactions and clarifying them to Blitzo (and the audience a little bit). You and others see it as poor flirting but others take it so differently (I'm positive you've heard of how others take it lol I won't even start) so if it was being placed down on the table alongside "this relationship is wrong" it would've helped a lot for Stolas critics to truly stick with him. That there's harder proof that he learned better from those instances of "poor flirting" and has made an clear effort to everyone to not be that way. Not very suddenly stopping the bad names and such after truth seekers and Ozzies, no sex for months, and text messages that were on screen for a few seconds (Should be longer. 🥺 Whole scenes maybe?)
"I was wrong and it made your understanding of me and of what I thought WE were very poor and I yadda yadda here I am telling you that" vs "Our relationship is wrong. I'm severing it but I'd like you to stay" to me and probably some other critics is very different. Hell, personally that's why I thought Blitzo was confused and then blew up at Stolas. Stolas had the right idea but didn't convey it as well as he could've to Blitzo.
As a result of this, in apology tour, when Stolas says "I don't look down on you! How many times do I- When have I ever-!—" it feels like Stolas DIDN'T learn exactly what the problems were. JUST that the transaction was wrong. And then we loop back to the start of what I was saying...feels hypocritical, annoying, frustrating, etc. A bunch of other stuff I think contributes to this, but this bit specifically I just wanted to yap at you about. That it isn't intentionally misconstructing what Stolas is saying and doing, just that other's have had such vastly different perspectives on the same thing that gets pushed even further from too little clarity.
This is mostly just me and what I get from others who have similar opinions to me. That Stolas is trying and the story is also trying to show he's trying, but both could do a little better at that. I hope all of this makes some sense!!
Has Stolas Truly Grown?
Firstly,
Thank you for being so kind. I was nervous ab keeping my ask box open, but I love engaging with people and hearing from your perspectives. I'll try to keep this short and concise by addressing each issue.
1.) Miscontextualization of Stolas's Words
While I can concede that a lot of scenes from Season 1 aren't addressed directly, personally, this is me speaking, you do not have to agree ofc, but I think both of these characters are adults. Stolas telling him directly that he thinks what they had was unheatlhy in his mind addressed all those things. Personally, I think it did address all those previous issues, especially considering he abruptly stopped so many behaviors that made Blitz uncomfortable.
The line I was mainly talking about in my recent post was that Stolas tells Blitz directly he is uncomfortable with continuing to have a transactional relationship and Blitz continues to pressure and pressure Stolas so he feels like he "earned it".
We can have our issues with Season 1 without miscontextualizing the line "I'm uncomfortable with the way you're speaking to me right now."
2.) The Full Moon Argument
I am incredibly biased in Stolas's favor in regards to the Full Moon argument, because I am so sorry but you have to be an utter MORON to misunderstand someone telling you that what you've had wasn't right. Literally saying that what they had was; "Its not right. It hasn't been. It never was..."
Stolas acknowledges ALL of his behaviors by addressing that his behavior and the transactional arrangement they had was not fair nor right. That from the conception of their agreement it was completely and utterly wrong in every form or fashion. That statement alone addresses every other time before that.
Stolas doesn't have to address every single instance to be truly sorry IMO. He addresses where he went wrong and gives Blitz an out so they are on equal ground.
The only reason Blitz went off on Stolas is because of his own insecurities with rejection. Even if it means acceptance in a less superficial way than sex.
Blitz's need to have Stolas in any way he can get him without it being emotional is a direct reflection of his OWN issues, not Stolas's.
Everything Blitz said during the argument was him projecting onto Stolas. Purely, that is how I feel and I do stand on Team Stolas during the Full Moon argument because Blitz really coulda just been a mature adult and asked to think about it.
3.) Stolas's Nicknames and Poor Flirting (I Hate Talking Ab This)
Stolas is a FUCKING idiot. That's all I really have to say and it's literally because of how isolated he is. His whole thing of being repressed and alone thankfully gives him some insight to how Blitz feels, but it doesn't change the fact this rich bitch prince is so god awful at reading people.
This isn't me making excuses, but he genuinely has a very odd idea of flirting and what it looks like. However, I will like to say that Stolas's flirting borderline mimics how Blitz talks about Stolas. Blitz calls Stolas all sorts of lil insults and such, but Stolas takes it like a champ. Sadly, this is because of Stella's abuse and how she openly humiliates Stolas for others amusement.

In Stolas's texts regarding the Ozzie episode, mean things being said to him is so- normalized that he thinks it is a way in which people bond. (Gods I'mma be sick)
The text reads:
"I'M SORRY NEVERMIND , IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL. I WAS JUST WORRIED ABOUT YOU. YOU SEEMED VERY UPSET AND YOU TOOK OFF SO FAST. BUT MAYBE I READ TOO MUCH INTO THAT. I'M GLAD IF THAT'S NOT THE CASE. I WASN'T UPSET EITHER I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE YOU WERENT'T AND OBVIOUSLY YOU CAN HANDEL ANY STUPID JOKE A CLOWN CAN MAKE. ASMODEUS CAN BE VERY INVASIVE IN HIS HUMOR. BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY FUNNY MYSELF. WHAT HE SAID ABOUT ME AT LEAST. I ENJOY BEING THE SUBJECT OF JEST. MAYBE YOU CAN SAY MEAN THINGS TO ME TOO NEXT TIME YOU COME OVER."
(Thank you to SilverBlade67789 on Reddit for making this easy to copy and paste.)
In these texts, Stolas seems to have a warped idea that if he lets people insult him they'll be less mad at him. This type of behavior was so normal in his home, that it is translating its way into his relationships. Mind you he has dealt with this treatment for 25 years.
Therefore, Stolas hears the way Blitz talks about him and thinks it is innocent enough to flirt back in the same manner. He is mimicking because he doesn't understand social cues or how to actually flirt. When you don't know something you either mimic or perpetuate the only thing you know and in this case Stolas is doing both. Therefore, the things he says and does do not come from his heart, but from a poor attempt to flirt by reading Blitz to the best of his socially inept ability.
4.) Did Stolas truly learn what they had was wrong?
The line you bring up is from Apology Tour and is as quoted: "I don't look down on you! How many times do I- When have I ever-!—"
I'm going to try my best to handle this with care just because a part of me is genuinely not clicking or understanding fully why Blitz Stans or Stolas Critics seem to cling to single lines without giving the full context.
Prior to that line Blitz was trying incredibly hard to get Stolas into bed to feel he earned the Asmodian Crystal and is then shocked when Stolas tells him to get out and that he is tired of this (the transactional relationship).
The transcript proceeds to read like this:
Blitzo: Oh, come on, Stolas. You can't tell me this isn't a fantasy of yours. [gets up on the table] You want me to show your rich, prince-y ass what a real fuckin' is. [pulls on Stolas's robe]
Stolas: Stop it! [walks away]
Blitzo: Ha! I'm right, aren't I? [gets off the table] You get off to getting plowed by people you look down on.
Blitz is accusing Stolas of looking down on him. He is saying that Stolas pretty much has a weird fetish for being dicked down by someone who is beneath him. Implying that the only reason Stolas associates with Blitz is because he is an imp and feeds his kink. Which alone is so truly disheartening after Stolas purely and honestly poured his heart out to Blitz in such a direct manner just an episode before.
Stolas proceeds to say; Stolas: I don't look down on you! How many times do I ha- When have I ever?! You speak just like that vile Striker friend of yours. The one who tried to kill me and you couldn't be bothered to come help me. Remember him?
Stolas in this moment is processing the accusation being levied at him. It is a pretty serious one at that. Boiling down all of their sexual experiences down to just- a fetish.
To Stolas those nights meant something. He says so in the Full Moon argument:
Stolas had already given Blitz the Asmodian Crystal, severed their transactional relationship, and expressed his affection to Blitz. He thought so highly of Blitz, genuinely thought the world of him and yet Blitz still wants to insist over and over again that it is purely a kink related thing?
Hell, I'd be upset too. Also the comparison Stolas made was incredibly important. Striker did not see Stolas as a person, just a figure head in a system he despises. Stolas is implying here that- the way Blitz is speaking about him is so dehumanizing that he sounds like the man who tried to kill him, twice.
Stolas truly speaks in fucking poetry, because that comparison was done on purpose.
It is why I say during Mastermind when Blitz only started humanizing Stolas once he lost everything that it rubbed me the wrong way in so many ways. It to starkly mirrors how Striker treats people.
On top of that, the fact Blitz boils down Stolas's feelings and confession down to just a kink truly says a lot.
Stolas when he says: "I don't look down on you! How many times do I- When have I ever-!—" It is to directly contradict whatever made up version of Stolas is living in Blitz's head. He is shutting down that accusation because it is purely untrue.
Stolas knows what they had wasn't fair, nor healthy, but he's not going to sit here and be accused of only wanting Blitz in a fetish or kinky context. Plus Stolas never finishes the "When have I ever-!" question. It could have led to being a completely different line of thought, but he chooses to stop it there to collect his thoughts and speak clearly because of how shocked he is that Blitz felt this way.
Therefore, this line by itself is not substantiative evidence to me that Stolas hasn't learned. With context, it truly just is a man defending himself and contradicting the fake version of Stolas that Blitz made up to feel better about breaking Stolas's heart. I mean it's hard to break up with the guy who loves you, but the rich prince who dicks you down cause you're poor? That's easier to live with breaking up than the sweet guy who loves you.
In my opinion the man has learned, but it is so subtle you will miss it. Specifically during Sinsmas, the transcript reads;
Karen Client: How long do they take?
Stolas: They take their time. It's a difficult business, I imagine.
Karen Client: *mocking Stolas* You "imagine", huh? Well, they should hurry up if they expect people to just stick around without anything to do. *Stolas' eye twitches* What a shoddy business operation!
[Nearing his limit, Stolas stands up from his seat.]
Stolas: Ooh! Here's an idea: You could shut the fuck up!
Stolas defends Blitz in this scene as someone is trying to devalue and diminish Blitz's work, his livelihood. Hell, Stolas acknowledges the work is difficult and that it's important they take their time. He understands how hard Blitz works and is actively trying his best to support him despite dealing with his own issues.
Also before anyone in the comments brings up Stolas being disgusted at the idea of working holidays or crying out he is poor. Tell me, do ya'll like working Christmas? I'mma say no, you don't. Why the fuck would he either? Secondly, he IS poor. The man is poorer than Blitz. Therefore it isn't a slight against the IMP crew, but Stolas acknowledging and registering he is broke broke.
Therefore, yes, I do believe Stolas has grown to understand a lot more what was wrong in the relationship, and respect Blitz more by making an effort to understand his work and position in society. Giving Blitz the respect he deserves and being genuine enough to sever their relationship when it truly didn't serve him.
Stolas's development is very subtle and it's all in the way he speaks, but it is there. He understands what he did wrong and tries incredibly hard through his words and actions to grow and not repeat his past mistakes.
I do hope I addressed all the major points you had a problem with. I do try to bring substantiative evidence to every conversation on Stolas. Even if we do not see eye to eye on this owl man, I do hope you can see my line of thinking!
Thank you for my first ask!
Amalthea out!

Ieiri Shoko. One of the most top Pathologist working in Tokyo. Apart of the ‘dream team’ of diagnostics. You had read almost everyone of her articles.
So when you got an offer from Shoko herself to come study under her and her team, you were so excited. This would be the best hands on experience you could get.
—
You walked up to the reception lady — nervous. “I’m here to internship under Dr Shoko.” The woman slowly looked up.
She made a disapproving hum before reaching over to her phone. She dialed a number and waited for the other side to pick up.
You fingers tapped against the counter, while slightly bitting you cheek.
“Dr Shoko? Yes there’s a lady up here claiming she’s interning under you.” “Okay I’ll send her up.”
She placed the phone back down and looked up at you. “Room 165 4th floor.” You nodded and made your way to the elevators, the whole trip up you were panicking.
What should you say? What if she made a mistake choosing you? Oh god what were you going to say?!
The doors opened and their the doctor herself was standing. “Welcome, I figured I’d meet you here so I could show you the way to my office.”
You nodded dumbly and followed after her quickly as she gestured for you to follow with her hand.
She opened the door — that had her name and practice written perfectly— and held it open for you.
Once you entered you noticed to other people. They must be Geto and Gojo. Two other best doctors of Tokyo that were apart of Dr Shoko team.
“Hey, I’m Geto.”
The one with long black hair spoke up, send you a slight wave with a kind smile. You smiled back and was quick to introduce yourself as well. “I’m Y/N. It’s nice to meet you Dr Geto.”
You looked over too the next guy, who was tossing a ball up in the and catching it, only to continue to repeat it.
“You must be Dr Gojo?” You asked just to clarify, you didn’t want to mistake him for someone else.
He caught the ball once again but didn’t toss it back up. He turned his chair to you and looked you up and down before clicking his tongue.
“Uh huh, that’s me scrubs.” You looked down to your white scrubs before telling him your name, feeling a bad vibe from him. “Oh my name is Y/N.”
“Yeah I heard.” Okay no need to be an asshole. You thought to yourself.
Doctor Shoko cleared her throat before interrupting the little challenging stare the two of you were sharing. “Okay, now that that’s out the way. Why don’t we start taking a look at this case.”
Shoko placed a file folder onto the table for Gojo to pick up.
He placed his ball in his coat and opened the file up, Geto leaning over his shoulder taking a look as well. “Night terrors, and double vision. Kid was hit in the head at a football game recently. Nothing special.”
“This case was given to use by Yaga. We have to at least find a solution to his problem.” Geto reminded the white haired doctor.
“Here’s a solution and here’s the problem: kid has a concussion and needs to sleep.” Gojo threw the folder onto the table.
You picked it up and started to look over his case. Multiple doctors, all saying the same thing as doctor Gojo.
“This kids seen a lot of doctors.” Your voice spoke up, stopping the bickering between Shoko and Gojo.
“So?” Gojo was looking at you as if you didn’t even know how to spell toast. “Different kinds of doctors saying the same thing. If there treatment isn’t working, then the diagnosis is wrong.”
Gojo pushed himself out the chair and walked around the table to you. He was tall, over 6’ foot tall.
He looked over your shoulder and looked at the file on more time. He let out a bored hum and snatched it from you — making his way to the door.
“Gojo where are you going?!” Shoko’s irritated voice stopped him as he slightly opened the door. “I’m gonna go examine this patient, and proved all this is, is some worried parents.”
He walked out the door making Shoko sigh out in annoyance. “I’m sorry about him. He’s always my way or no way.” You nodded at her and gave her an awkward smile.
“It’s okay, maybe it was something I did?”
Geto placed a hand on your shoulder, and smiled at you. “Your interning yes?”
You nodded up at the doctor beside you. “Then maybe go with Gojo and see what he does, hands on experience is the best kind.” You looked to Shoko weary.
“You should listen to Geto, besides me and him need to go over things in private.” You nodded you head in understanding and made your way to exit the room.
You noticed Dr Gojo by the elevator doors and hurried over him. When Gojo saw you making your way over to him he clicked on the button more.
He stepped into the doors and sighed in relief when the started closing. Though that relief was short lived as your hand stopped the doors from shutting all the way.
“Look I don’t do autographs lady.”
You rolled your eyes at his arrogance and stepped into the elevator beside him. “Geto and Shoko sent me with you.”
“Of course they did.” He whispered to the sky as if he was cursing god.
“I haven’t even met you more than ten minutes and you already hate me.” You turned and gave the taller man a pointed stare.
The doors opened back up and Gojo started to walked to the patient’s room. “I don’t hate you.” He opened the door. “I just don’t like you.” And walked through it, not holding it open.
You hurried into the room and just remained at the door, not wanting to get on his bad side any worse.
“So, mark. I hear you hit your head pretty bad.” Mark nodded his head and Gojo took a seat on the counter of the room. “What I’m interested in is your night terrors.”
“There awf-awful.” Mark spoke, but stutters as if he doesn’t even want to remember it. “He hasn’t slept in days.” His mother adds on.
“Really? Says here that your last doctors recommended it and prescribed you sleeping pills. Are you not taking them?” You could already see where Gojo was leading with this.
“I- I can’t, the nightmares won’t go away.”
Gojo turned his head to you and gave you a look saying ‘I told you so.’ “Night terrors happens from two things. An injury from the head, or high stress such as sexual assault.”
Your eyes widens at Gojo’s words, they were pointed at the parents even if he was talking to Mark. “Are you accusing us?” That dad was quick to jump and question. Rightfully so.
“No, I’m telling you want it comes from in most cases, you son has had an injury to the head. So don’t worry, child care won’t come knocking.”
The audacity of this man. “Take the sleeping pills, your kids fine.” Gojo grabbed the folder and handed it to you as he walked out.
You follow him through the doors, “did you seriously have to be like that to them?” Gojo stopped and turned to you.
“In the folder it says that they’ve listened to the doctors. That they’ve taken the treatment.” He pointed to the file before continuing on. “Your argument was if the treatment isn’t working then something’s wrong with the diagnosis.
That kid admitted to not taking the sleeping pills, so he’s not taking the treatment, that’s the problem, not the diagnosis.”
You were too stunned to even speak, not like you even could, because the second you went to say something Gojo sushed you.
You looked to where he’s looking — through the window in the door — and on the other side you just seen it last second a jerk in the leg.
Gojo was quick to walk back in and ask the boy questions.
“Are you tired?” Mark was quick to not yes, but Gojo further explained. “Are you tired this second, this instant?”
“No, I’m not tired right now.” The parents were quick to ask questions but gojo only continued to question the teenager. “Did you feel that twitch in your leg?” A no came from mark.
Gojo started to flash a light in his eyes and you turned to the worried parents and started to answer there question.
“Sometimes if the brain thinks we’re falling asleep they will send a signal, to try and wake up that part of the body. The brain is thinking the body is dying.”
The couple only grew more worried and ask more questions.
Gojo took a few steps away from the boy and stood beside you. “Good job, now they think there kids gonna die.” You looked to the couple who were hugging there kid. You looked back to Gojo and noticed how blue his eyes actually were.
The doctor handed you the light he was using, “admit him over night and get the nurse to do another family history check.”
—
“He was so cocky about it too! ‘Now they think he’s gonna die’ well obviously that wasn’t my intention!”
You groaned to your roommate. Maki laughed at your frustration.
“I swear imma drop out cause of him.” You placed your face into the pillow on the couch and screamed.
While Maki did find enjoyment in this, she was also always your voice of reason. “Well, you only have to deal with him for a year. Then once you finish collage, it’ll be easy to get hired somewhere.”
You peaked your head up and sighed, ”yeah but he’s so annoying.”
“Maki got up and went to throw away her bag of chips, calling out from the kitchen, “well he is a big shot Doctor!”
When she walked back to the living room she demanded you tell her more about the case you were working on.
“We’re going over possibilities of what could be the problem tomorrow. So we’ll know more then.”
At the end of the day Maki was right, one year of dealing with some cocky prick for your career to take off.

First chapter done! I’ll have the second out soon! If you’d like to be added to the taglist just comment, have a great day and I hope you enjoyed!

How would the uchihas react to their s/o being bisexual? Also, all your work is amazing! Make sure to give yourself any time to take a break ❤️
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL WORDS NONNY, I LOVE YOU
I take the freedom to clarify that I don't share thoughts with any of my retrograde Uchiha, but I characterize them as such because of the era in which they supposedly lived. Izuna is the one who breaks the rule among my three old men.
Especially Indra, I always portray him as a misogynist man due to the era in which he was theoretically born, this doesn't mean I think like him, I just typify him in an awful way (yes, im mean with my boy🤠💫)
and yeah, one of them needed to be flawed, today it was shisui's turn😭🛐
new HC revealed: Itachi is demisexual
Indra
- NOPE. Not only is he a 1930's man with zero social awareness and inclusion, but couldn't even think of being open-minded when it comes to his (Y/N). It is not because she likes women, but because he needs her to just be in love with him, with what Indra has to offer. He won't accept it.
Madara
- The only problem he has is if she wants to leave him for someone else. It doesn't matter if woman, man, dog or cat, Madara just wants to make sure that (Y/N) only loves him. There are people for every taste and he doesn't see anything wrong with bisexuality, especially considering he has Izuna as his brother. As long as she is not unfaithful to him, everything is fine.
Izuna
- Bisexual himself, he thinks it's amazing. What greater fun than to be able to share tastes with (Y/N) on an even more intimate level, without having problems regarding gender or retrograde concerns? He takes the opportunity to incorporate into his mix the possibility of including more people in bed, raising the tone of their love life.
Obito
- Doesn't mind in the least, if (Y/N) likes all genders, good for her. Similar to Madara, as long as she chooses him and is loyal to his side, there is nothing that can stop them. He would never fetishize her for her tastes nor does he find arousal in her liking all genres, it's nothing to highlight.
Shisui
- We're not going to lie, there's something about turning him on at the thought of (Y/N) with a woman. Yes, the Uchiha who gets to fall into the worst heterosexual male stereotype, as much as he has his wonderful things, Shisui can also be a jerk. The topic will be up for discussion, as he can't have that kind of thinking.
Itachi
- What difference does it make if she is bisexual or not? Itachi, demisexual and a die-hard lover, accepts (Y/N) as she is and with whatever tastes she has, without any problems or restrictions. He is not subject to that irrational fear of being dumped or cheated on with a woman, he genuinely doesn't care as long as she is happy.

A lengthy ass-post about poly-shipping no one asked for
So I'm gonna go ahead and choose passive aggressive violence, in the form of an informative, lengthy as fuck post I think some folks need to read.
I won't be adding the post here, as I don't wish to direct potential harassment to the original poster (no matter how heinous I found a majority of the list), but if you're on twitter/"X", I'm sure you've seen a lengthy notepad list of RP "hot takes".
While I agreed with some of the points made, I feel it necessary to clarify some things, particularly about the points regarding polyamorous shipping.
If you don't want to read the blurb between here and the actual point list, just scroll down until you see green font.
Most know that I myself play a polyamorous character; I ship my character with other characters belonging to different players. I've been poly-ship for YEARS, so I feel I have some experience and can say some things about it.
Some points made in the "hot takes" list alluded to people using polyamorous shipping/multi-shipping as an excuse to just ERP and mess around with multiple people without consequence.
Sadly, yes, this does happen. It's unfortunate that selfish people only looking for specific things use it as an excuse for their behavior, but the only thing people can do is be aware of what to look out for when it comes to polyamorous shipping.
So rather than allow a negative light be painted on a valid means of shipping and roleplaying your characters in relationships, I think a quick lesson is needed.
Disclaimer: these are just my personal opinion on how I feel polyships should be handled, and some red flags I have seen during my time being a polyamorous OC player. By no means is this a rulebook, more like a guide so new and veteran roleplayers alike can be aware.
What a responsible poly-shipper will do:
Introduce you to their other partners - Communication is key in any relationship, this is not just for monogomous ships, but even moreso for polyamorous. A poly OC player will be open to introducing you to their other partners; while no one expects you to be best friends, it's good to be aware of just who else you'll possibly be regularly seeing around.
Share time and effort among your partners equally - A polycule relationship should be even across the board; one partner should not be treated better than the other. Treating one or more partners better than the other(s) is just a recipe for people getting hurt, both IC and OOC.
Be open and up front at the very beginning of IC interactions - A poly OC player will be up front and honest about the nature of their character if they have an interest in possibly shipping with you, or in case the possibility of it happening is there.
Encourage communication and prioritize problem-solving - This isn't just for poly ships, but ships in general. A good writing partner will encourage and WANT you to tell them about how you feel with the ship, especially if it's a problem with an easy solution.
Always make it known if they wish to bring another partner into the polycule & pose an introduction OOC - This is the most important part of being in a poly ship, making sure EVERYONE knows if there is someone new who will be joining the ship, and making introductions before a ship is made.
What a responsible poly ship player wouldn't/shouldn't do:
Hide the status of their ships - If your partner is hiding who they are shipping with from you, in my experience, this just means a person is going behind their partner's back (and is possibly cheating on them).
Brush off any possible issues you may be having with one of the partners in the ship - A responsible partner would aim to mediate the situation, and listen to all sides.
Discourage their poly partners from seeking other partners - Not every poly OC is monogomous with their poly partner, sometimes one poly OC will be shipped with another poly OC. Your partner would not expect you to drop your other ships to be with them while they continue their own, they should respect your decision to ship with your other partners.
Keep attempts to ship with other characters a secret - A responsible poly partner will make it known when they are attempting to or want to ship their OC with another as soon as intentions and wants are known. Not after a ship is already established.
Discourage those in the polycule ship from associating with each other - A partner in a healthy polycule would never discourage their partners from associating with each other; intentional separation more than likely is a means of hiding something, such as blatant favoritism, or even to keep ships a secret (in my experience).
Anyways I'll get off my soap box. I apologize for the lengthy post, but some things I've been seeing regarding this hot takes list were so blatantly heinous, I just felt like something should be said.
Have a good evening y'all; hug your pets, tell your friends you love them, and don't let jaded people online project their problems onto you.
Stay golden

I have been reading through the official English translation of Saezuru and, between my previous observations and what @dragomfry added today, thoughts about a general anxiety of disclosure came up regarding translation as well. Meaning – and I hope I can actually explain it well – that the official English translation sounds often more assertive to me than what I would have expected. It’s better to make an example to explain my point, and since few months ago Yoneda uploaded to her twitter account the original version of Though They Drift, They Do Not Sink, Nor Do They Sing (漂えど沈まず,されど鳴きもせず) the panels I am going to use are from that story. The English translation is the one published by Juné.

If you take the English version only, Yashiro comes off here quite assertive in defining his sexuality: I’m definitely gay. That sense of assertiveness is also communicated by those other words I highlighted in yellow. It becomes a little lost that he sees a correlation between homosexuality as in preference for “being penetrated by a man” and masochistic tendencies on one hand and having sex with a woman as the active partner and sadistic inclinations on the other hand. Which is the whole point of this in my opinion. Yet, there are no obvious mistakes and the translation flows naturally, it sounds like I am nitpicking.
So what he is saying: I'm a homosexual, so when it comes to sex, it feels so much better to be penetrated by a man than to have sex with a woman. And I'm a masochist, but at the same time, I'm also sadistic. In middle school, when I was having sex with a girl, my sadistic side came out. After she cried a lot, sex between men and women became a hassle. In the first place, it is difficult to obtain pleasure from active sex with a woman, so it is becoming more and more like a homosexual lifestyle”.
I don’t envy the English translators here: not all these sentences sound “right” for a native English speaker to say, I bet. But the fact is, Yashiro’s thought process when “localized” here is also slightly changed in tone. The problem with that “I am definitely gay” - as you would register without the additional reflection of it being an observation from a physical and almost mechanical perspective in the context of Yashiro’s other words and what they imply, rather than say (she cried a lot) - comes to the surface later in the story. Because when we switch from Yashiro’s inner voice to what he says to Kageyama, when he chooses to define his sexual orientation, is: “I’m bi”. Which comes up in other points in Saezuru as well, with the addition of Yashiro not wanting to “correct” people for assuming that he is homosexual or gay instead. “It’s too much of a hassle”.

If you have taken too strongly what he said in the inner dialogue previously as a general statement, you might have the impression that Yashiro is deceitful or indecisive here. There is the presence of an additional inner voice, that can clarify further Yashiro’s thought process here as well: It was just a little mischievous. I’ve never really fallen in love with either men or women.
And this is why this is different: Yashiro isn’t talking here about a purely physical preference, or about masochism or sadism. Or about how making a girl cry made being the active partner too much “trouble”. He is talking about falling in love with someone, and, since he is able to have sex with women, he is considering that the possibility of also falling in love isn’t limited to one’s strongest sexual desires when you are in fact bisexual. When he realizes that he has fallen in love with Kageyama, Yashiro suffers from this knowledge and the confirmation that also falling in love with men – in addition to having a preference for them as sexual partners – is a source of pain rather than hope.
The process of translating is so much about making decisions. It would be bad to leave things too vague and it isn’t always possible to maintain the subtleties of the original. Reading the official English translation, I appreciated that things are rendered very naturally and I felt I understood immediately direct dialogue, but sometimes I was struck by a sentence, where I felt like it couldn’t be like that or because I remembered differently from previous readings. And checking things out, sometimes the decisions taken are very strong, not very faithful or even mistaken in this anxiety for clarity or disambiguation. Unfortunately, Yashiro being the character with more attention drawn from inner dialogue and with more nuances, between what he is thinking, what he is feeling (shown mostly through visuals) and what he is saying can be jarring or confusing to understand to that deep level you need when you’re translating. And what about insight into queer themes or general habits in a different publishing environment? Those are factors that can become especially relevant to translation choices in Saezuru. I’ll leave this here, but different choices come in play in extreme meaningful moments later, where it becomes even more relevant to pay attention, rather than taking the story for granted. And there were choices that were hard to understand logically for me. In conclusion, Yashiro from the official English translation? Not quite the same girl I know and love.
I am the opposite of confident when it comes to Japanese written language, because I know how this can come across. Amateur hour, a language I never learned to speak and I would not be able to communicate with. The only thing I have got is that I have spent too much time with a character and I poked around the fandom and I have read at least three versions of Saezuru. The only instance I trust myself: when subtle things are communicated visually. And I like to check dictionaries and learn about how languages work and about cultural differences. I am so grateful for translators too. This is meant to be enriching and as much constructive as possible. And maybe a suggestion for people more capable than me to share their thoughts if they want to!

Apologies if I'm prying, and obviously you don't have to answer at all, or publicly, if you don't want to: I've only been diagnosed with ADHD a couple of months and I'm still looking for admin jobs/working a few part time bits. Do you disclose? Or do you think it's a bad idea to disclose/wouldn't work for your situation?
I'm always happy to talk about my experiences!
So, my situation is a little different because I'm self-employed. Part of the reason I'm self-employed is because I have ADHD. I like being able to set my own schedule. I like not having to work in the morning (when I'm pretty much useless). I like being able to (for the most part) choose my work based on whether it's interesting/novel/challenging enough to keep me interested--and I like that my work is always changing. Even if I get bogged down on one project (i.e., I'm so bored I want to pull my eyeballs out), I know it'll end and I'll get to move on to something else.
In my primary source of employment (I'm a freelance editor and writing coach), I'm quite open about my ADHD specifically because I want neurodivergent writers to know I understand and empathize with many of their struggles. I can (and do!) tailor my approach when working with folks who have, for example, issues with rejection sensitivity, emotional dysregulation, or trauma around criticism. We're all in this together.
That said, I am also very aware that my employment situation is made possible by the fact that my husband has a good, salaried job that includes the health insurance that pays for the various and sundry (ridiculously expensive) medications I'm on. And I live in a country where my health care is not tied to employment.
I do have a very, very part time gig for an employer (I'm still considered a contractor, though), and I did disclose to them--but only after we ran into a situation where I was made incredibly uncomfortable by the extremely neurotypical way they decided to handle a difficult situation. Without going into details, they called me in for a meeting that I would much, MUCH rather have preferred as an email. I explained that everything about the way they handled things led to extreme issues with rejection sensitivity and emotional dysregulation that would have been entirely mitigated by a) clearer communication and b) giving me time to process the information in a private space. While they didn't get it at first, I was able to eventually make them understand where I was coming from, and they changed the behavior to accommodate me. But--and this is a big but--I already had a good relationship with the management, so they were willing to listen without judgement.
Even though there are meant to be anti-discrimination protections (including providing accommodations for neurodiverse folks), I'm not entirely sure I believe they ... work? There's still a lot of stigma. And sometimes people hear "ADHD" and assume "flake"--which absolutely is not the case.
I would say that if you do disclose, be sure to clarify what kinds of accommodations you might require and to heavily lean on the strengths you bring to the role instead of what an employer might perceive as weaknesses. (For example: I work extremely well under pressure. I will be less effective if given work with vague or non-existent deadlines. I am an excellent problem solver who often discovers or invents solutions not just for existing issues but for those that haven't yet become critical. My enthusiasm for work I find interesting, novel, and rewarding is boundless. I am creative, dedicated, and motivated ... but only after about eleven in the morning.)

hai me again! I hope you don't mind me adding on, I'd understand if you choose not to respond, just wanted to give my thoughts-
I first want to say that I relate to the emotional overwhelm of such situations. I'm very sensitive, especially when it feels as if I've been hurtful :( I just recently I got an ask that condescendingly said I was being insensitive about some fandom things (they misunderstood my point so I clarified and it was okay) but I felt that same feeling of rejection. it's like guilt and embarrassment and makes you feel like everyone is mad at you, lol... it always takes me a few days of recovery to feel comfortable posting again
secondly, I want to say that I agree with all your points. I don't know anything about mouthwashing, but it sounds like other people are making their shallow interpretation of it your problem. opening a discussion, as you did, is not an invitation to be harassed or accused of terrible things. you didn't deserve that!
saying that evil/abusive characters can have good qualities, do good things, or be nice, is not at all excusing (or God, forbid, endorsing) their evil/abusive actions. it's actually a grounded and realistic opinion to have. the idea that all abusers are just evil monsters isn't true. in my experience, one of the most dangerous things about abusers is that they can be nice, normal, even good people. anyone is capable of abuse, even good people. even normal people. if you talk to any abuse victim about their abusers, they will say things like, "yes, they were terrible, but they were good sometimes, too, and that's what made it so hard to hate/leave them"
I have watched bojack horseman. bojack is an excellent example of a realistic abuser (if you don't mind me calling him that). because he is written to have good moments, and to have deep and complex feelings, and to be sympathetic, sometimes, too! the things he does to others I would still call abusive, but because he is so complex and multifaceted, people sympathize with him more. he's a very interesting character and, imo, the comparison between him and jimmy is justifiable (from what I know)
(sorry a lot of this is nonsense. tldr, I think you're right, and other people just have poor literacy skills)
salukes!
-🦊
Hello!!! As usual, you don't need to worry at all! I love reading your thoughts, you can always express your thoughts so well!
First things is that YES, this is exactly how it feels! :( I'm also very sensitive with negative opinions towards me. I'm aware this is something about myself that I need to change... But oh man, I wish I knew how to actually do it. I just can't, and not even therapy helped me a bit. I feel so guilty I convince myself everybody - including my friends and mutuals - will start hating me too... Part of me knows it's not true. Part of me knows that people should and will have criticism about my actions. But nothing of it makes this type of situation easier.
Thank you for thinking so, what I was hoping was that I would be able to listen to other people's opinion about both characters, which is a very interesting topic to me. I like to see how bad people are represented on games/shows/movies, even more when Bojack and Jimmy have such different character arcs and are both the protagonists.
And I do think that admitting that abusers can be good people sometimes is a truth most people don't want to admit. But, at the same time, it's something very important to talk about because the same happened to me! (Vent coming, sorry) When I decided to stop talking to my ex, I felt so guilty. Because she treated me in a terrible way but, at the same time, she had so many good moments. She was cool, funny and made me feel very comfortable. There are some conversations between us that I still remember clearly because she inspired me and changed my way to see everything.
But she was still terrible and she still hurt me in many ways, no matter what.
I also wish things were different, but they aren't.
And Bojack is such a good character to show this. I do believe he was abusive many times and being able to relate to him is what makes the show so painful to watch. The problem is that he's so much more complex than Jimmy that people forget how he traumatized many other characters. I think more people should read his crimes on the Villains Wiki to remember Bojack is not a good guy. But well

Hi! I have a question, I hope I can explain myself: how would you describe Gojo on a moral level? I see the majority of the fandom (jjk in general, not just the shipping ones) considers him a good person, but I'd argue he's more on the grey side...and not a light grey. See, I can't really wrap my head around the way he blatantly ignores the fact the Suguru was completely fucked up, to the point that in chap 236 he wishes Suguru was with him before fighting Sukuna and imagining him (adult Suguro, the fucked up one) together with the same students he tried to kill in jjk0. How on earth? If I'm not mistaken Gojo never really says "yeah, Suguru was my friend but he used to be completely different, this is not the Suguru I used to be friends with". He never says Suguru was wrong. He just misses him, even though he was surrounded by people who liked him. At least Shoko clearly doesn't feel any affection towards Suguru. And let's not talk about the way he doesn't really seem concerned about the future of his students in chap 236. What do you think? Just to clarify: I do like Gojo. But I don't share the sentiment of the rest of the fandom: he's not a good person. I guess Nanami was right
This is a (somewhat) fair assessment.
Character alignment wise, I think Gojo enters into Jujutsu High as a Chaotic Neutral and transcends into more of a Chaotic Good or maybe Neutral Good? It's hard to say because, if in universe, Gojo is the perceived solution to every problem then why are there still so many problems? Including Geto's 10 year stint running amok?
Morally, Gojo absolutely exists in shades of grey. He uses his power to do the lawful thing but... at the same time, could, on a whim, use his power to do what he or Geto feels to be the right thing. The biggest example being the fact that they were willing to protect Riko Amanai's right to choose whether she wished to merge or not even if the latter would have catastrophic ramifications. Based on the needs of society, Riko needed to merge with Tengen, but Gojo recognized erasure of one girl for the security of others wasn't necessarily right. As an adult, again, he does what needs doing but pushes back on elders that would rather see the likes of Yuta Okkotsu or Yuji Itadori dead.
We have to understand that jujutsu society, with all its rules and hierarchy, isn't a morally upright system to begin with. Gojo, as a Big Three Family heir, is deeply entrenched in that. But he has enough sense to, in his own way, try to correct what he perceives to be travesties.
Suguru Geto is a casualty of this imperfect system and Gojo's initial inability to recognize Geto's struggle was the fatal flaw that put the final nail in his coffin. Discovering the twins was the hand that swung the hammer and he was subsequently radicalized. Gojo wasn't the only person who still kept space for Geto. Nanami and Shoko could also understand that the slaughter of that village was wrong but not find it in their hearts to condemn Geto or hear ill words spoken against him. None of them condemn him because, even if his method was wrong, they understand why he desperately wanted to change the way things are.
Gojo's affection for Geto, in my mind, does not necessarily make him a completely bad person, though. For one, while he doesn't outright condemn what happens in the village, he is clearly dismayed by the murder of Geto's parents. We see that he does in fact understand the wrongness of Geto's transgressions. Bear in mind that, until broken by the system they all served, Geto was a gentle and just person with a noble idea of what was right. So earnestly that Gojo allowed space for Geto to influence his own morality. So this radical change in behavior is a shock to Gojo's system and, even though he was used to deferring to Geto's judgement (like not killing the Time Vessel Association), he very clearly and autonomously recognized Geto's sins. Gojo had an unconditional acceptance or love for Geto which is why, despite everything, he would still find satisfaction in closing the loop, as it were, with Suguru right beside him.
⚠️ Spoiler warning for JJK chapter 236.
The man is dead, what more do you want from him? He knew he was going to die and fought hoping that those who remained could pick up the slack of the weakened opponent. 236 was merely an echo of the same faith he had after he was sealed - that he trusted in the people he left behind. I think Gojo has also come to terms with the fact that all he can do is throw everything he's got at the situation. His failure is unfathomable to most but he's been shown the limits to his power before so perhaps that's why he's overly cavalier. In most situations, he's the first line of defense so if that doesn't cut it... what more can he do?
Bear in mind, what we see of Gojo's afterlife in 236 is more than likely what he hopes for in his heart of hearts. But I'm not really subscribed to the idea that he's Gojover. I could be wrong, especially since Gege Akutami keeps comparing other people to Gojo in his absence to fill in the gaps and explain how they could possibly hope to beat Sukuna. But I think what we saw was an extended version of what Nanami experienced before passing.
You can go left or right - Yuki to Geto about his radical ideals
You can go North to start anew or South to your old self - Mei to Nanami and actualized in his dying moments with an apparition of Haibara
These are choices and the second is as explained to Gojo as if he has the same choice. From his hope that it isn't all in his imagination and the setting therein, it would seem he's leaning toward accepting his fate but I just don't think that's the case. If anything, this prolonged ideation is possible because that brain of his is intact. Gojo even told Toji that he should have cut off his head if he wanted to kill him so, who's to say whether that applies now.
Regarding Nanami being right, I assume you mean the Nanami in chapter 236. In which case:
Hypothesis: The reason we see Gojo surrounded by younger versions of those he lost is because they are attached to the version of himself that died. Gojo will come back as a more enlightened person.
Keep in mind, in a way, Adult Nanami understands Gojo. Every version of Nanami is annoyed by Gojo but there's still a respect that goes both ways, even when their ideals differ. I think Nanami's assessment that "You live for jujutsu. You don't wield it to protect something. You use it solely for the sake of satisfying yourself." is apropos for high school Gojo. But that was before he lost Geto, developed a resolve to take in Megumi and Tsumiki (albeit selfishly), protect Yuta from the elders with his life, and protect Yuji. Empirically, there's a facet of Gojo that uses his power for good and it feels like the versions of Haibara, Nanami, Geto and Yaga that he encounters would be unaware of that. I think that's what makes the fact that Gojo visualizes Adult Geto celebrating him stick out even more. Why the mind games, Gege??
In summation, Gojo continues to exist swathed in shades of grey. He could be better but he could definitely be worse. He is a reflection of a corrupt system that masquerades under the impression of working in service of the greater good but ignores the problematic elements of the likes of Mei Mei, and Naoya Zenin.

I haven't seen chibnall but I have a hard time imagining being worse than moffat. I'm sure it's possible but that man... he was bad. also out of curiosity what's the problem with eccleston? or did you just use his name as a reference for which era was rtd. feel free to ignore this if you like, I hope you have a good day!
hellooo!
look, you won't hear me arguing moffat wasn't bad but believe me Chibnall was worse. He wrote an entire sequence where the Doctor tricks the Master (then played by British-Indian actor Sacha Dhawan) into being caught by the Nazis, knowing what the Nazis would do to him. Like, the Doctor, presenting as a white woman, handed over the Master, her best friend presenting as a Brown man to the most notorious white supremacist regimes in history. And that moment was framed as a successful ploy!! As a "win" for the Doctor.
I'm sorry but, to me, Moffats fucking decrepit cringe Gen X Misogyny did nowhere near as much damage as thoughtlessly portraying the Doctor as someone who will literally use Nazism against a poc and framing it as clever girlboss behaviour. Like, it's not fun that these are the people we have to choose from but one of these things is not like the other.
As for the Eccleston stuff, I was referring to Christopher Eccleston's conflict with the BBC and by extension implied conflict with RTD. The full details of the conflict have never been fully made public but Eccleston has always maintained he quit the show due to the culture created by the show runners and producers. He's said he'd never work with RTD again. Eccleston implied that one of the reasons the relationship between himself and RTD broke down was Eccleston's desire for the Doctor to be a role model whose intellect wasn't inherently tied to being upper class English and had to really fight to use his natural accent. It's worth noting that the we wouldn't have a Doctor without an RP (received pronunciation) accent again until Capaldi. David even mentioned Russell's "enthusiasm" for DT to speak in RP not his natural accent in his interview with Jodie in 2020.
I want to believe that RTD has grown since the mid 00s, and perhaps this time around things will be different. But I think a lot of people point to Moffat as the worst because his bigotry is the most visible and easiest to critique. It's more popular and acceptable to critique sexism against white women than it is to critique racism and classism. But in reality all of these showrunners are white British men who have pulled white British bullshit and I won't stand for Chibnall and Davies shortcomings being scapegoated via Moffat.
Also, this is not a defense necessarily but a lot of people who hate moffat era who did NOT watch Capaldi's seasons and did not watch season 10 with Bill Potts. So their critique often lacks the perspective of Moffat's best season that proves he's capable of writing something genuinely compelling that's not gross and sexiest. Like it genuinely infuriates me when people talk about "moffat who" but they're only really talking about Matt Smiths seasons. Again none of that is a defence but it's just to say that most people who say Moffat is the worst are people who a) are really talking about Sherlock, which, fair enough that was shit b) people who just think 10th Doctor best Doctor and don't actually care about anything after that era in any meaningful way. Or c) people who have a pretty incomplete view of the series was and where it currently is.
omg this is long sorry I hope I don't sound rude I'm not trying to be I just have so many thoughts about this. I hope this answers your question, please let me know if I need to clarify anything <3
