I loved this and therfore have many thoughts
Early September was brutal in southern California. Each day seemed hotter than the one before it, and even the smallest bit of yard work was enough to leave Bradley sweaty and miserable. He stood in the middle of his front yard, eyes closed, thinking about how beautiful autumn was in Virginia when he was a kid. He leaned against the handle of the rake, picturing a pumpkin patch, a corn maze and all the things he would never find in San Diego.
🥺🥺🥺
What he didn't mention was the fact that he often still felt like a bit of an outsider in town, even though he attended all the neighborhood potlucks and still had some blond in his hair from hanging out on the local beaches all summer.
Poor Bradley 🥺
"And you like the neighborhood?" you asked, fully facing him now with a smirk on your face. He shrugged the best he could without moving too much. "I might like it better now."
Oh he is such a flirt 🤭
Then there was the day you bumped into him coming out of the salon next to his barber, and he complimented your colorful nails at the same time you told him his haircut looked nice. He blushed, and you smiled before turning toward your car, glancing back at him a little expectantly.
So cute😍
"Why's that?" you asked, placing your hand on your hip while you held up a head of cabbage. "You're a picky eater?" He shook his head and took a step closer to you. "The exact opposite. I love food. I will eat literally anything that is edible." "I guess it makes sense that you love food," you told him with a smile. "You're a big boy." Your gaze drifted down along his shoulders and chest before you started to look a little embarrassed. "I... yeah... I think I'll just grab whatever looks good and take it from there. See you on Friday night?" "Yeah," he grunted as you walked toward an eggplant display. He would see you on Friday night. And he would be prepared ahead of time to ask you out.
He definitely is rehearsing, asking her out in front of the mirror as soon as he is home 🤭
Once again, your laughter had him ready to drop what he was holding and reach for you. He had to ask you out tonight. It had been weeks already since you moved in, and you were definitely giving him a green light. He could think of a dozen different restaurants he wanted to take you to, and maybe you'd like the artsy little movie theater.
It's so cute that he has all these ideas already 🥹
He ran his hand over his face and groaned, parking in front of the restaurant and yanking his keys from the ignition. If he'd just asked you out that day, maybe he'd be picking up twice as much food and sharing it with you tonight.
Oh he is regretting all his life choices right then and there
The air was silent except for the muffled sound of food being prepared in the kitchen behind him. Your eyes looked so sad as you shook your head and pressed your lips together. "No. No, I'm sorry, Bradley."
Oh noooo💔🥺
For the first time since he moved to California, the air outside was too cold. There was an uncomfortable knot in his stomach as he glanced over at your car. He shivered miserably as he saw the shadow of someone waiting in your passenger seat. Then he drove home and ate alone in his kitchen before going to bed.
He is heartbroken before anything even happened 💔 🥲
Today was Halloween, and he spent over an hour carving some of the pumpkins to look like soccer balls before dressing in his usual costume. Handing candy out to the neighborhood kids and trying to guess what they were dressed as sounded like fun. He was determined to have a good night, even if he did have to angle the folding chair on his porch so he was facing slightly away from your house. He would enjoy himself no matter what.
🥺🥺🥺
"Where's Raphael?" he asked as they collected their candy. Leonardo laughed and said, "Nobody wants to be Raphael. He's the lamest one." "I would have to agree," Bradley replied, about to help himself to a piece of candy as they started to run to the next house.
I feel like Rooster is good with kids because he has the same interests as kids it seems 😅
"Hi," you replied immediately, looking from his mustache to the whistle around his neck and back up to his visor. "Are you seriously dressed as Ted Lasso?" "I always dress as Ted Lasso," he told you, and he was rewarded with a smile that made him want to follow you around the neighborhood like a lost puppy.
Oh he 100% would
The kid nodded but said, "You need to call it a football." Bradley found himself agreeing. "You're completely right. It's only proper."
Come on Bradley, get into your role☝🏻
Your eyes were alert, scrutinizing his expression as you said, "His name is Max. He's almost ten." "He looks like you." You went silent for a few seconds, fiddling with the soccer ball in your hands. When you finally spoke, you were looking at Bradley's feet. "I knew you didn't know about him. I mean, you did ask me out after all." You laughed even though nothing was funny and finally looked up at his face. Then Max started to walk back the way you and he came, and you followed him. Bradley called your name. When you turned back, he said, "To be clear, I would have still asked you out if I'd known." And then you looked so sad again.
🥺🥲😭
"It's a spicy buffalo dip," you replied, smile growing. "I literally made it with chicken from a can. I'm pretty sure you could trick them into thinking it came from your kitchen. You can even take your tortilla chips, too."
She truly made it thinking about him 🥹
His fingers tightened on the handles when you took a small step closer to him. This was agony, being so close to you when he really wanted to touch you, but knew he couldn't. He whispered your name at the same time you looked up at him and started talking. "Max isn't my son. He's my nephew. But I'm his legal guardian now." Bradley's lips parted, but you shook your head and quickly added. "The night of the last potluck, I got a phone call that my brother and his wife were in a car accident. They both died before they reached the hospital. I had to pick Max up from soccer practice that night, and he's been with me ever since." Tears were welling up in your eyes as Bradley tried to shuffle your crock pot to one hand. He knew how badly this kind of thing hurt from his own childhood. "Shit. I'm really sorry the two of you are going through this. But Max is lucky he has you." When you nodded and shrugged, you looked resigned to the way things were. "I'm also pretty sure Max prefers it when you call it football. Not soccer."
😭😭😭
Almost a year later, Bradley was standing in his front yard, smiling at the SOLD sticker placed on a realty sign in front of your house. It made sense to have you and Max move into the white cottage with him, because the porch was bigger. It was the perfect size for an elaborate Halloween display.
It was over almost as quickly as it started, and Bradley was ready to drop to his knees and beg you for more. But you were rambling now, and he was trying his best to focus. "I wanted you to ask me out so badly. But then everything changed, and I had to tell you no. Max has a lot he still needs to process, and I don't really have time to date someone who just wants to mess around with me." For the first time in many weeks, Bradley felt lighter than air. He reached out with his free hand and let his knuckles trail gently along your cheek and down to your softly parted lips. "I'm forty years old. I'm kind of over the messing around stage," he promised. And then you were kissing him again.
Ahhhh this is perfect 😭🥰🥳🥹😍
I love it!! I feel like this is a role Bradley would thrive in, because of him loosing his parents young too, he would try the hardest and kinda knows what it can feel like or a person in a situation like that needs 🥹🫶🏻

The sound of something bigger than a car coming down his quiet side street had him cracking his eyes open against the Saturday afternoon sun. A U-Haul lumbered to a stop in front of the house across the street and one door down. The engine settled to silence, and he craned his neck to get a better look. The property had been sitting there with a red and white SOLD sticker over the realty sign for what seemed like months, and now it would appear as though he finally had a new neighbor.
Bradley dropped the rake and had to lunge to grab the handle before it clattered against his stone pathway. The woman who climbed out of the truck, hopping down onto the street in some beat up sneakers, was beautiful. The sun seemed to illuminate her from the inside, and now Bradley was setting the rake down softly as she walked around the truck and slid the back open. It was filled with furniture and boxes, and he watched as an avalanche nearly flowed out as she tried to move one item.
"Shit," he grunted, running across the street as he wiped his dirty hands on the hem of his undershirt. "It looks like you could use a hand," he called out, hoping he wouldn't scare you when he came up behind you just in time to catch a dining chair that was teetering above your head. Then the neatly stacked boxes started to give out as well, and his left hand went to steady them.
You were ducking slightly, preparing for the worst when Bradley realized your back was pressed against his chest. If he moved, there would be a lot of broken furniture to contend with. But then you glanced at him over your shoulder as you stood to your full height, eyes wide and lips parted in surprise.
If you looked beautiful from across the street, then you looked stunning up close, trapped between his body and the truck. "Welcome to the neighborhood," he mumbled like an idiot, but he was rewarded by the smile that curled along your lips.
"Hey, you're pretty good at being neighborly," you replied, gesturing to his right hand holding the chair and his left securing the stack of boxes. His heartbeat quickened at the sound of your voice and how close you were as you told him your name and asked which house was his.
"I'm Bradley. The white cottage across the street." He nodded toward his mess of a front yard with his chin. "I moved in about six months ago."
What he didn't mention was the fact that he often still felt like a bit of an outsider in town, even though he attended all the neighborhood potlucks and still had some blond in his hair from hanging out on the local beaches all summer. At the moment, all he could do was fight the urge to tell you how pretty your eyes were.
"And you like the neighborhood?" you asked, fully facing him now with a smirk on your face.
He shrugged the best he could without moving too much. "I might like it better now."
Your eyes widened a bit before you ducked your head, looking up at him with a surprised smile like you couldn't quite believe what he'd just said. And that's when Bradley heard another vehicle pull up behind him. "That would be my friends. Here to help me unpack."
He wanted to joke that it looked like you needed all the help you could get with your furniture avalanche, but he heard several voices calling your name and rushing over to help. He was invited to stay, but when he was finally able to safely back away without anything falling, he realized four other people were there to help you out.
Your eyes were still focused on his as he started to back away. "I'll see you around?" you asked before chewing on your lip.
"I would count on it," he confirmed, turning back toward his house so you could get settled into yours.
But he did hear one of your friends ask, "Who is he?"
"Bradley," you replied, just barely loud enough for him to hear. "From the white cottage."
--------------------------------
After that first encounter, he saw you everywhere. You were pulling into the parking spot next to his Bronco when he came out of the grocery store. When he asked how you liked your new house, it sparked a conversation about hardwood versus porcelain tile flooring, and Bradley's ice cream was completely melted by the time he got home.
Then there was the day you bumped into him coming out of the salon next to his barber, and he complimented your colorful nails at the same time you told him his haircut looked nice. He blushed, and you smiled before turning toward your car, glancing back at him a little expectantly.
Then he ran into you at the farmer's market where you were buying vegetables for the upcoming neighborhood potluck. You asked him what he thought you should make.
"Well, I'm the wrong person to ask," he replied, feeling a little lightheaded as his brain begged him to ask you out on a date.
"Why's that?" you asked, placing your hand on your hip while you held up a head of cabbage. "You're a picky eater?"
He shook his head and took a step closer to you. "The exact opposite. I love food. I will eat literally anything that is edible."
Your bright laughter cascaded across his skin as your head tipped back. The expanse of your neck looked smooth and perfect, and Bradley wanted to have your permission to put his lips there. And that was a startling thought since nobody had really caught his attention like this since he was first stationed in San Diego. Nobody made him feel like he was at home in his house before you started waving to him whenever you saw him outside.
"I guess it makes sense that you love food," you told him with a smile. "You're a big boy." Your gaze drifted down along his shoulders and chest before you started to look a little embarrassed. "I... yeah... I think I'll just grab whatever looks good and take it from there. See you on Friday night?"
"Yeah," he grunted as you walked toward an eggplant display. He would see you on Friday night. And he would be prepared ahead of time to ask you out.
----------------------------
"No," you gasped. Bradley recognized your voice and turned around to face you in Mrs. Diaz's kitchen. "That's what you brought to the potluck?" You sounded appalled, but you were clearly smiling as you looked at what he was holding.
"I told you I liked to eat food, not that I knew how to cook anything."
"Bradley," you groaned, shaking your head at the bag of chips and jar of salsa in his hands. "This is bad. Next time, I'll prepare two dishes so you can pretend you made one."
His heart skipped a beat at the idea of handing you things in his kitchen and watching you make something as nice as the lasagna you were holding. "It's useless," he replied with a frown. "After six months of bringing restaurant style tortilla chips and medium salsa, nobody would believe I cooked anything."
But he watched you get swept up in conversation after conversation, and then the opportunity slipped away when you ducked away from everyone to answer a call. You had a concerned look on your face with your phone pressed to your cheek, and then you were rushing out of Mrs. Diaz's house and along her front path before you disappeared from view.
Suddenly it was well into October, and he'd barely seen you at all. There were a few mornings that felt cool enough to coax him to buy some pumpkins for his front porch. He thought about taking one over to your house as an excuse to finally ask you out, but he figured you must be pretty busy right now. Maybe work got a little crazy. He tried not to imagine that someone else had asked you out and that was the reason why you were so scarce.
"Damn," he grunted when he drove his Bronco past your house on his way to get some takeout for dinner on a Saturday night. He just couldn't stop thinking about you. Why didn't he ask you out that first day when he saved you from your dining chair? He ran his hand over his face and groaned, parking in front of the restaurant and yanking his keys from the ignition. If he'd just asked you out that day, maybe he'd be picking up twice as much food and sharing it with you tonight.
A minute later, when he turned to leave the restaurant with his bag, he could not believe his luck. You were walking inside. "Hey."
You glanced up, and for the briefest second, you smiled at him like you always used to. "Bradley." But then your smile started to fade away slowly, and he would do anything to bring it back.
His heart was pounding, and his brain was screaming at him, so he squared his shoulders and did the only thing he could do. "Hey, if you're free tomorrow night, I was thinking maybe you and I could get dinner? Or hit up the movie theater on Pomona? The seats are uncomfortable, but they show some indie stuff which could be fun. Or maybe another night might work?"
The air was silent except for the muffled sound of food being prepared in the kitchen behind him. Your eyes looked so sad as you shook your head and pressed your lips together. "No. No, I'm sorry, Bradley."
Well, fuck.
He backed away from you until he bumped into the wall, and then he focused on getting to the door. "Right," he replied after he had a few more feet between your body and his. "Well, I'll see you around the neighborhood."
For the first time since he moved to California, the air outside was too cold. There was an uncomfortable knot in his stomach as he glanced over at your car. He shivered miserably as he saw the shadow of someone waiting in your passenger seat. Then he drove home and ate alone in his kitchen before going to bed.
---------------------------------
Bradley tried his best not to think about you. One day last week, when he saw your front door swing open, he waited to step down from his porch so you wouldn't have to wave awkwardly to him. And yesterday, for lack of anything better to do, he bought more pumpkins, and he waited in his driveway to unload them until you carried all of your groceries inside your house.
Bradley lit the candles inside his pumpkins and dropped down into the chair with a bowl of candy as the afternoon sky turned dusky. It didn't take long until a toddler dressed as a witch made an appearance with her dad, and Bradley had a good laugh when she reached for three pieces of candy.
"Trick or treat!" shouted three kids dressed as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
"Where's Raphael?" he asked as they collected their candy.
Leonardo laughed and said, "Nobody wants to be Raphael. He's the lamest one."
"I would have to agree," Bradley replied, about to help himself to a piece of candy as they started to run to the next house.
But then he saw you. And you weren't alone. You were dressed as a soccer player, complete with knee socks and a soccer ball, and you were accompanied by an approximately ten year old kid who looked a lot like you. He was also dressed as a soccer player, and he smiled at Bradley as he said, "Trick or treat."
Bradley stood up, still holding onto the bowl of candy so the child could make his selection while he got a better look at you. "Hey."
"Hi," you replied immediately, looking from his mustache to the whistle around his neck and back up to his visor. "Are you seriously dressed as Ted Lasso?"
"I always dress as Ted Lasso," he told you, and he was rewarded with a smile that made him want to follow you around the neighborhood like a lost puppy.
"Of course you do," you said, letting your gaze drift toward the child who was currently looking closely at the soccer ball pumpkins while holding onto a Snickers bar. "Somehow you match with us."
The boy looked up at Bradley and asked, "Did you carve these yourself? They look pretty good."
"Yeah," he replied, wishing he actually had taken the time to drop a pumpkin or two off on your porch. "I have perfected the soccer ball technique, kiddo."
The kid nodded but said, "You need to call it a football."
Bradley found himself agreeing. "You're completely right. It's only proper."
When the kid turned back to explore the rest of the pumpkin display a little more, Bradley took a step closer to you. "I didn't know you had a son," he said softly.
Your eyes were alert, scrutinizing his expression as you said, "His name is Max. He's almost ten."
"He looks like you."
You went silent for a few seconds, fiddling with the soccer ball in your hands.
When you turned back, he said, "To be clear, I would have still asked you out if I'd known."
And then you looked so sad again.
------------------------------
To Bradley's amazement, the weather finally cooled to the perfect temperature in November, but he found he didn't want to be outside as much. It was a shame, because if he stood in the middle of his yard and closed his eyes, he could almost imagine he was in Virginia.
One Friday after work, he cleaned the slightly rotten pumpkins from his porch and dragged his trash bin to the curb. Your front door was open, and he paused to see if you or Max happened to walk past it before heading back inside his empty house.
There was another potluck tonight, but he just didn't even feel like going. He had the usual chips and salsa on his kitchen counter, but he had no desire to socialize with the neighbors. He was about to change into gym shorts and surrender to a cold beer and a basketball game on TV when there was a knock on his door.
When he glanced through the front window, he saw that it was you, and his heart seemed to drag him toward the door. He was turning the knob before he thought better of it, and he was met with your wide eyes and a crock pot in your hands.
"Hi. Bradley."
"Hey." He swallowed hard before he said your name, and your lips turned up into a soft smile. "Is that for the potluck?"
"Yeah," you said, reaching out to hand the crock pot to him. "Well, I actually made it for you to take. Max and I will be bringing lasagna again."
Whatever Bradley was holding smelled so good, his stomach started to growl. "I can't take this. Nobody will believe I made it," he murmured, nudging at the lid with his thumb.
"It's a spicy buffalo dip," you replied, smile growing. "I literally made it with chicken from a can. I'm pretty sure you could trick them into thinking it came from your kitchen. You can even take your tortilla chips, too."
I had to pick Max up from soccer practice that night, and he's been with me ever since."
Tears were welling up in your eyes as Bradley tried to shuffle your crock pot to one hand.
You laughed, maybe in spite of yourself, but Bradley still loved how it sounded. You briefly glanced over your shoulder toward your house and swiped at your tears as you said, "He absolutely does. He also keeps asking me about Ted Lasso across the street and his football pumpkins. I told him you're nice."
Bradley's heart had him dragging his feet closer to you, holding onto the warm pot of buffalo chicken dip for dear life. "Is that so?"
You nodded and stared at Bradley's chest for a few seconds before meeting his eyes again. Your lips parted several times before you whispered his name, and he leaned in a bit closer. After a few seconds, he started to step back, but your hand settled lightly on his shoulder, stopping him. Before he could react, you closed the remaining space, pressing your lips to his in a tentative kiss.
It was over almost as quickly as it started, and Bradley was ready to drop to his knees and beg you for more. But you were rambling now, and he was trying his best to focus. "I wanted you to ask me out so badly. But then everything changed, and I had to tell you no. Max has a lot he still needs to process, and I don't really have time to date someone who just wants to mess around with me."
For the first time in many weeks, Bradley felt lighter than air. He reached out with his free hand and let his knuckles trail gently along your cheek and down to your softly parted lips. "I'm forty years old. I'm kind of over the messing around stage," he promised. And then you were kissing him again.
The three of you walked to Mrs. Diaz's house together that evening. Bradley carried the crock pot, you carried the lasagna, and Max carried the tortilla chips. The conversation was mainly focused on how badly Max wanted to learn how to carve a football pumpkin.
Almost a year later, Bradley was standing in his front yard, smiling at the SOLD sticker placed on a realty sign in front of your house. It made sense to have you and Max move into the white cottage with him, because the porch was bigger. It was the perfect size for an elaborate Halloween display.

bsf!matt! When he talked about how much he missed his ex—totally oblivious to your feelings. [Light angst]
wc. 1.2k
note. English is not my first language! Requested!
Today was just like any other day, mundane to say the least. You had rolled out of bed, washed up, ate breakfast and wore comfy lounge wear. You were just about to watch a movie when your phone rang. Putting the bowl of snacks and the remote down, as you took the call.
Your face immediately lit up with a grin when you heard his voice, suppressing the urge to giggle and kick your feet as you felt that giddy and light feeling. The conversation flowed naturally as you talked, smiling to yourself.
Matt suggested a movie night through the phone, making your grin wider, and of course you said yes. It would’ve been stupid not to.
The drive to his place wasn’t long, but the rain made it a bit difficult to drive. It was raining like cats and dogs—probably the most rainy day in months. It wasn’t raining when you walked out of the house, but it was pouring halfway through the drive.
You groaned in annoyance when you saw the traffic jam in front of you, slowing down your car since it was slippery with all the rain. The time ticked slowly, as slow as the traffic that barely moved an inch.
Your phone buzzed with a message from Matt saying that he already prepared the snacks and not to worry about it. You chuckled to yourself – you were thinking about stopping by a grocery store on your way – before replying with a simple "okay, be there in a bit, traffic jam, yikes".
You finally pulled up at their place, looking in the visor mirror to make sure you looked alright. Sighing as you got out of your car, just to get heavily rained on as you briskly walked to their front door, giving it a few knocks. Nick opened the door and his eyebrows shot up in surprise as he let you in, "You’re soaked," he stated the obvious.
"Pause," he laughed, "shut up, but really, did you fucking walk here? You’re drenched." You shook your head, purposely making the water in your hair go everywhere, eliciting an annoyed groan from Nick. "No, I didn’t, but I did walk here from my car."
"Your car? The one parked right beside our front door?" You laughed heartily at his disbelieving tone, "kid, it’s raining like a fucking waterfall, just a few seconds and I’m wet— pause." Matt walked out of his room at the sound of the chattering downstairs, "Hey, you’re finally here!" He called out from the top of the staircase.
You looked up and playfully rolled your eyes, "yes, finally here, because of a certain someone I nearly drowned in the rain outside." Matt laughed and walked down the stairs, his hair bounced with his steps, looking as good as always.
"Was that funny?" You asked Nick, making him shake his head with a judging look on his face, "where’s Chris by the way-" "he’s sleeping, c’mon let’s go watch that movie, I’ve been waiting for you, you know?"
"I think I know that much," you let yourself get dragged upstairs and into his room, hearing Nick shout that he was gonna nap as well before the door closed behind you with a soft click.
𓆩♡𓆪
The first movie ended rather quickly and as you two scrolled through the catalogue to watch another one, Matt suddenly seemed a bit tense, like he had something to say but didn’t know if he should. And of course you noticed it, you were looking at him the whole time, after all.
"You okay? Y’seem a lil’ tense," he sighed softly, "it’s nothing–" your skeptical look combined with the overall cozy vibe of the room broke down his resolve as quickly as he built it and he spilled his guts out. "Fine, just don’t look at me like that."
You listened intently, making sure he knew that you were listening. "And I don’t know... I just miss her, a lot." You froze, but quickly composed yourself, not wanting him to catch that. "Your ex? Y’still miss her?" Repeating his words, unable to grasp your head around what he just said.
He simply nodded, "I just feel like I did a mistake letting her go like that you know? I should’ve fought for her," you felt a tinge of sadness, you had thought that he finally moved on. It didn’t help that he was giving you mixed signals lately, being clingier than usual, jokingly calling you pet names.
He sighed and kept on telling you how much he missed his ex and how much he wanted her back, and the more he spoke, the worse you felt. You could feel tears prickling at the corners of your eyes, but you knew it would look odd if you start crying.
Desperately trying to gulp back your tears as you listened to him passionately talk about his ex. She was beautiful, smart and just the epitome of a dream girl. He was none the wiser to the tears starting to stream down your face, still rambling on about his and his ex’s happy memories.
You wanted to just run out of there, embarrassed, but the heavy rain had become a thunderstorm outside. You couldn’t possibly drive back home, it would be too dangerous, but you couldn’t just sit there and let your heart break more than it already has.
That’s when you accidentally let out a quiet chocked sob, and Matt immediately tensed and looked at you. "Hey... why... why are you crying?" His voice was soft and concerned as he spoke, the gentleness made your tears stream faster. Your face heated up in embarrassment that he caught you crying.
You stood up abruptly and wiped your tears, "It’s nothing, something got in my eye." Even you knew your excuse sounded like a bunch of bullshit, but what could you say otherwise? That you cried because you thought he finally reciprocated your feelings but was still hung over his ex? "Hey, wait, what—" he called after you as you walked out, making a lame excuse about needing the bathroom.
Once inside the bathroom, you sat on the floor, hugging your knees. You made sure to lock the door, after all, you didn’t want Nick or Chris to catch you crying. A soft knock came on the door, once, twice, and on the third he spoke. "Please, open up."
You kept quiet, not trusting your voice, and just listened to him talk. "I don’t know why you were crying earlier, but talk to me, pretty... Tell me, you know I would listen to you, please?" Your heart ached at the pet name, how could he call you names like that when he couldn't even reciprocate your feelings for him?
You knew it was just something between friends, but that made it hurt more—the realisation that you were just a friend. You were envious of any and every girl he dated or liked, they had the privilege to be liked and loved by the guy you desperately wanted.
After a stubborn silence, he finally picked up on the hint. You said nothing as he sighed and walked away from the door, his footsteps fading down the hall. You couldn’t believe he didn’t try any harder, he had just left like that after a few minutes of trying to talk to you, it all added to the hurt you were feeling.
Your heart ached painfully as more tears fell down your face, but what could he possibly do when you’ve locked yourself in the bathroom and refused to open it—
Your thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a key twisting in the bathroom door lock.

Kneeling for a Taste

Watching a movie with Yunho turns into anything but cinematic as he loses focus on the screen, transfixed by the sight of your thighs until he can’t hold back anymore

author's note: you guessed it right! today’s fic is yunho x reader—oh, specifically subby yunho because OH MY LAAAWD! this idea came to me on the bus today, and don’t tell me this isn’t something yunho would do.
The soft glow of the TV screen cast faint shadows across the room as you both settled into the couch. It had been a long week, and a cozy night watching a movie together was the perfect way to wind down. Yunho had chosen the film, something he swore you’d love, but as the scenes played out on screen, his focus began to waver.
At first, he tried to keep his eyes on the screen, but the gentle curve of your thigh, peeking out from beneath the hem of your skirt, kept pulling his gaze. Your legs were crossed, your knee bouncing slightly as you got into the storyline, completely unaware of his growing distraction. The skirt you wore rode up just enough for him to catch the barest hint of the skin above your thigh, each movement a gentle torture as he tried to focus.
Yunho swallowed hard, his eyes tracing the way your thigh pressed against the cushion, his heart starting to race. He’d seen you in skirts before, but tonight, there was something so effortlessly tempting about you. His mind drifted, a warm tingle spreading across his skin, slowly pooling in his lap. He shifted uncomfortably, trying to refocus, but his gaze would flicker back every few seconds, his resolve weakening.
As the minutes passed, his breathing became shallower. He felt himself growing hard, the fabric of his pants suddenly feeling too tight, pressing uncomfortably against his swelling arousal. Each time you shifted, his eyes darted back to the curve of your thighs, the urge to touch you building within him.
At last, unable to resist any longer, Yunho turned toward you, his voice soft and hesitant. "Y/N…"
You looked at him, slightly surprised, but his gaze was unmistakable. His eyes lingered on your legs, his lips parted as though he was on the verge of saying something but couldn't quite bring himself to do it. The sight of his flushed cheeks and the way he shifted, almost nervously, sparked a thrill of curiosity within you.
"What's wrong, Yunho?" you asked, leaning slightly closer.
He swallowed, his Adam's apple bobbing as he tried to find the right words. His gaze dropped to your lap again, and he bit his lip, hesitant. "I just… I can't stop looking at you." His voice was barely a whisper, laced with longing.
Your eyes softened, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips as you saw the heat in his gaze. You uncrossed your legs, letting the skirt rise just a bit higher, teasing him. His breath hitched, his cheeks turning an even deeper shade of red.
He reached out, his fingers trembling as they brushed against your thigh, his touch gentle and reverent. His hand lingered there, the warmth of your skin against his palm only stoking the fire that was quickly consuming him. His gaze shifted up to meet yours, a silent plea in his eyes.
"Yunho…" You let his name hang in the air, watching the way he reacted to the softness of your tone. His eyes widened slightly, a shiver running through him as he glanced back down, almost ashamed of his own desire.
"Please, Y/N," he whispered, his voice strained with need. His fingers tightened slightly on your thigh as he began to sink to his knees in front of you, his breaths coming faster, more ragged. He looked up at you, eyes full of desperation, his lips parting as he struggled to hold himself back.
"I want you," he murmured, his voice thick with longing. "Please… let me taste you."
The way he knelt before you, so vulnerable and eager, sent a thrill through you. You gently ran your fingers through his hair, letting him feel the weight of your touch as you cupped his face. He leaned into your hand, his eyes closing briefly as he savored the warmth of your skin against his cheek.
"Are you sure you want this, Yunho?" you asked, a hint of teasing in your voice.
He nodded quickly, his gaze intense as he met your eyes once more. "More than anything," he whispered, his voice trembling with need. "Please…"
Yunho’s eyes darted between your face and the bare skin of your thigh, his expression one of unfiltered longing as he waited for your permission. You held his gaze for a moment longer, then shifted, parting your legs just enough for him to see the space between them. His breath hitched as he moved forward, his hands gripping your thighs reverently, his eyes shining with gratitude and desire.
As he lowered his mouth to you, his lips pressing gentle kisses along the inside of your thigh, each touch was tender, deliberate, and filled with the adoration he felt.
Yunho’s breath was hot against your skin as he leaned in, his lips tracing a path along the soft, sensitive flesh of your inner thigh. Every kiss, every whisper of his breath sent waves of anticipation rushing through you, heightening your senses. His hands, still trembling slightly, slid up your thighs, thumbs pressing into the tender muscle as he held you, grounding himself in your warmth. You could feel his need in the way his fingers tightened, as though he feared you might slip away if he didn’t keep you close.
He looked up at you through half-lidded eyes, his lips slightly parted, breathing in the scent of your arousal as he pressed a slow, open-mouthed kiss at the edge of your thigh. His expression was dazed, almost reverent, as if he were worshipping you with each kiss, each gentle caress. There was a slight, breathless sound that left his lips as he brushed them closer to your center, a sound somewhere between a moan and a sigh, as though he couldn’t believe he was finally here.
“Y/N…” he whispered softly against your skin, his voice so full of longing it sent a shiver down your spine. “You’re… perfect.”
You threaded your fingers through his hair, pulling him just a little closer. The encouragement seemed to break his last thread of self-restraint; he dove forward, letting his mouth finally meet your heat. His tongue traced a slow, deliberate path up your folds, the wet warmth of it making you gasp as he savored every inch of you. He explored slowly, languidly, as if committing each taste, each texture to memory.
“God, you taste so good…” he murmured between kisses, his words muffled but full of awe. He buried his face deeper, his tongue circling and flicking over you with increasing fervor, his hands gripping your thighs firmly to keep you exactly where he wanted you. His movements were needy, almost desperate, yet there was a surprising gentleness in the way he held you, as though he wanted to show you just how much you meant to him with every flick of his tongue, every breathless kiss.
You couldn’t hold back the sounds spilling from your lips as he continued, your hands clutching at his hair, tugging him closer. He responded eagerly, moaning softly against you, the vibrations sending ripples of pleasure through your body. His tongue delved deeper, his lips sealing around the sensitive bundle of nerves, sucking gently as he looked up at you, eyes dark with desire.
“Please,” he whispered hoarsely, pausing just long enough to catch his breath, “let me make you feel good… I need to—” His voice was cut off as he dove back in, pressing himself harder against you, as if your pleasure was the only thing that mattered. His eyes closed, his lashes fluttering as he lost himself in the taste of you, every stroke of his tongue bringing you closer to the edge.
Yunho’s hands slid up your thighs again, his fingers spreading you open for him, giving him better access as he nuzzled in deeper, licking and sucking with increasing fervor. His tongue moved expertly, his eagerness making each touch feel electrifying. Just when you thought you couldn’t handle any more, he pulled back slightly, his lips wet and his cheeks flushed, looking up at you with a dazed expression.
“You’re everything I want,” he whispered, the words tumbling out between ragged breaths. His gaze was filled with pure adoration as he lowered his mouth to you again, this time moving with even more focus, his tongue and lips working together to draw out every ounce of pleasure he could.
Your moans filled the room as he quickened his pace, his hands gripping your thighs possessively. His desperation, his absolute devotion to pleasing you, was enough to push you over the edge. You felt your muscles tightening, the wave of pleasure building rapidly, threatening to consume you.
Sensing how close you were, Yunho moaned softly against you, his voice shaking with excitement. “Come for me,” he whispered, his lips brushing against you as he spoke, each word sending sparks through your body. “Please… let me feel it.”
And with that, the coil of pleasure inside you snapped, a blissful wave washing over you as you cried out his name, your body shaking beneath his touch. Yunho held you steady, his mouth not leaving you even for a second as he eagerly worked you through your climax, his tongue gentle but insistent, savoring every bit of your release. He moaned as he felt you pulse against his tongue, the taste of you sending shivers through him as he held you close, his own breathing unsteady.
As you slowly came back down from the high, Yunho stayed there, his head resting against your thigh, his lips pressing gentle kisses along your skin as though he couldn’t bear to part from you. His gaze was soft, filled with adoration, his cheeks flushed and his lips swollen from the intensity of his efforts.
He looked up at you, a shy smile playing on his lips as he took in the satisfied expression on your face. “Did… did I do okay?” he asked softly, his voice still breathless, but his eyes shining with pride at having made you feel so good.
You leaned down, pressing a kiss to his forehead, letting him feel your gratitude in that simple gesture. “More than okay,” you murmured, your fingers running through his hair tenderly.

Hey 💜💜 wondering if you could write something where Damian and reader have been trying to have a baby for so long, and they've done all the treatments, but nothing ever worked, so they’ve stopped "trying". And then she ends up pregnant randomly, and her gift to him on Christmas is a positive test or a cute onesie or whatever, and it takes him a minute to actually believe her 💜💜
i love this request so much! working on it!
damian priest x reader
likes, comments and reblogs are always appreciated!
‼️mention of infertility, pregnancy, pregnancy sickness, a little angst, mention of smut, fluff and comfort‼️
early christmas present
one year and a half.
one year and a half of you and damian trying to have a family together. one year and a half of you going from doctor to doctor, clinic to clinic and changing different treatments and yet nothing ever happened.
maybe it wasn’t meant to be. maybe you and damian weren’t fit to be parents and this was the sign. maybe it wasn’t meant for you to be a mother in this lifetime, no matter how much you wanted to be.
and you spent a year and a half blaming yourself. you reached to a point where you tried to break up with damian, saying how he deserved someone who could give him a family.
he thought you were crazy when you said that. he loved you so much and the idea of losing you was killing him, so, after a lot of therapy sessions, sleepless nights crying in each other’s arms, you came to the conclusion that it wasn’t really meant to be and that there was nothing you could do about it.
the idea of being infertile never crossed your mind so it was a big shock to you but as time passed by, you learned how to live with that and instead of focusing on the bad things, you took your life back.
a few people in the company knew or more - heard - about you and damian not being able to have kids and tried to suggest you many different options, from adoption to surrogacy but even if they seemed having good intentions, it pain you to know that your own problems became public domain.
you and damian lived your life. he promised to stay by your side and he did. he knew how much you wanted this and he was hurting at the idea of you feeling like it was your fault.
you found strength to take your mind off of that and focusing on different things. helping damian training, having dates like it was your first time together, spending much needed time in each other’s company. all the little things you loved that felt lost a year ago.
passionate nights with damian, him reminding you how much he loved you and appreciated you. you felt like yourself again and you got used of being just you and him, even if it meant for the rest of your life.
about a week ago you got sick. thinking it was just a normal cold, you let it go. but it got worse when the delicious smell of fresh bread and coffee became unbearable for you and got you nauseous every single morning.
“stomach issues again?” damian softly asked when he saw the disgust painted on your face.
“i think so…it smells so bad damian” you tried to joke when damian backed off so he could drink his coffee without making you feel worse.
“do you want me to make you something else? eggs? bacon? pancakes? anything you like?” he was so caring with you but the idea of eating made you even sicker.
“i feel like i could throw up the whole menu” you said making him laugh “i booked an appointment for today, i’m having a check up, maybe i got some virus or something…nothing too serious” you tried to remain calm but the idea of being sick for so long made you worry.
“i wish i could come with you but i promised rhea i would help her train…let me call her so i can come with you” he was about to pick up the phone but you stopped him.
“it’s not necessary damian, i promise” you smiled “she needs you, i’ll see you later on tonight” he knew that you wouldn’t have let him ditch rhea for a simple check up and he knew that no matter what he said, you wouldn’t let him come.
he nodded, moving the coffee away so he could properly kiss you before you left the house.
a couple of hours later and you were sitting in your car, watching the people passing by as you were trying to elaborate what the doctor just told you.
you weren’t sick - you were pregnant.
you were pretty sure it was impossible for you but all the tests the doctor ran turned positive.
how?
when?
your mind was racing and you couldn’t stop the million thoughts that were going through it.
sure, you and damian stopped having sex with condoms when you were trying to have a baby and when you learned that you couldn’t have kids you never really cared about safe sex anyway.
but how did it happen if you were infertile?
the doctor didn’t have a proper answer and he already scheduled some appointments to keep you checked, saying that it was almost a miracle.
right now, you were thinking about damian.
how were you going to tell him?
many ideas crossed your mind. from a mug with “best dad”, to a small t-shirt or maybe even a teddy bear.
you wanted to make this special for him too so when you crossed a shoe store on your drive back home, you decided to stop and get some inspiration. immediately your eyes fell upon a baby version of the black nike sneakers he had and you thought it was going to be an awesome gift.
your baby wasn’t even born and yet you were buying matching shoes for them and damian. while wrapping the box, the sale assistant smiled at you, unconsciously knowing that you had in mind.
you couldn’t contain your excitement and enthusiasm so you tried to speed back home.
too much surprise damian was already back and he was watching something show when you entered the front door.
his eyes immediately fell upon you, remembering you had the visit that morning.
“hey mi amor” he smiled “how are you? feeling better? what did the doctor say?” thousands of questions immediately echoed in the room, making you chuckle.
“one question at a time damian” you smiled sitting next to him on the couch “i’m feeling better, thanks, and the doctor gave me an explanation on why i keep getting sick, especially in the morning” you tried not to be so excited but it was hard.
“so?” damian was worried. he couldn’t understand why you were so happy and smiley.
instead of giving him an answer, you took the box right out of your bag and gave it to him “let say this is an early christmas present…and also the reason on why i’m always so sick” you watched him look between you and the box “come on, open it” you smiled.
damian carefully opened the small box and for a moment his heart stopped.
mini shoes? he wasn’t understanding.
and then it clicked.
“what? how? is this real?” his eyes moved between your now teary eyes and the little shoes he was holding in his hands “is it real?”
you nodded, not being able to find enough words.
“we’re gonna be parents?” he asked, now fully already knowing the answer.
“yes…” your voice broke a little but the joy filling the room was worth all of the tears you were shedding.
“this is the best gift i could ever ask for” he wrapped you in his arms and held you as you both cried of joy.
“i already booked the next appointments. the doctor wants to run some more tests and try to understand how i actually got pregnant…and we have an ultrasound appointment in a week too…we’re gonna see the baby soon” you cried onto damian’s shoulder.
“fuck, i love you so much mi amor” he quickly wiped off his tears before softly kiss your lips “and i can’t believe you got us matching shoes” he bursted out laughing.
“i can’t wait to get you matching clothes, matching pjs, matching socks, everything gonna be matching” you joked, making him even happier.
damian’s hand went over your belly “i can’t wait to meet you baby…” he softly spoke making your heart warm “you are already so loved…we love you so much, mama and papa…i can’t believe i’m saying this” he was still high on emotions and you couldn’t blame him.
maybe it really was a christmas miracle.

SO!!!! I was spending time with my Dad today, and it's kinda our thing to watch action movies together, and so while we were looking for something to watch, I was like what the hell - and I pitched S.W.A.T.
And you know what?? It was't half bad!!!
Especially that knowing Lou isn't in all of the episodes, I wasn't really expecting him to be there from the beginning - so you can imagine my surprise when I saw him on the screen in the first episode, and just how HAPPPY it made me feel.
Guarantee, my gay ass was squeaking every time he was on. ❤️❤️❤️
So yeah, it just made me so happy, you know? To see that I still have it in me to get so excited - just as I did whenever I saw Lou (to my Dad's baffled looks) ❤️

SOOBIN: “I thought I should just try to shine as I am.”
TOMORROW X TOGETHER The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY comeback interview
2024.11.11
He once strived to become a lush, towering forest. But he realized that people will love him for exactly what he is—a deep, rolling ocean. And so, he decided to remain as whom he always has been: an ocean named SOOBIN.
You took a trip to Vietnam earlier this year with BEOMGYU. I heard you planned the whole thing. SOOBIN: I’m usually the kind of person who just goes around without a real plan, but since we don’t get much vacation time, I figured we’d better go all out and do everything we could in one go, so I tried planning it all out. (laughs) BEOMGYU just wanted to go with the flow, but there was a ton of stuff I wanted to do.
I’m sure it’s not easy taking a trip or spending your off time with the same people you spend all your time with. SOOBIN: I hang out a lot with the rest of the group on my own time too, though. Three of us were all hanging out together just yesterday. To be perfectly honest, it doesn’t feel like anything special since we’re always together 365 days a year, but I’m also most comfortable around them for the same reason.
Sometimes people start bickering with each other when they get too comfortable with one another, but you’re always so kind—like how you gifted BEOMGYU with a nap in that “The Perfect Way to Rest” video when you remembered he was feeling tired. SOOBIN: I think I’m good at picking up on things. I don’t know if I can do it with everyone, but at least with the other members of the group, I’m pretty good at telling how they’re feeling or if they’re not feeling well. As soon as I see one of them, I can tell, Oh, he looks a little rough today, or, He’s sure in a good mood today. (laughs) If they seem down, I go over to them to find out what’s wrong and talk it over.
Your kindness also comes across when you’re with animals, like in the “OUR TOMORROW” video, where you took care of one dog who was so nervous that it didn’t get a chance to eat any treats. Have you always been drawn to people and creatures that are small and left out? SOOBIN: So, so much. In fact, I was really shy and struggled to fit in when I was a trainee. I was really lonely at first. So when time passed and I finally got accustomed to things, if I saw another trainee who was shy and couldn’t adjust, I felt like looking out for them. Kai was among them. (laughs) That’s how I ended up becoming really close with him.
You talked about the cat your sister adopted recently, explaining how it used to be shy because it had a hard life in the past but that it finally opened up this year. SOOBIN: I went to see the cat when my sister first got it, but I couldn’t even see it that first time—it just hid under the couch. It was so shy that I thought I’d never get to pet it, but the last time I saw it, it came right up to me and started purring, wanting to be petted. It was able to overcome its painful past and open up to my family thanks to all the love they show looking after it. Love really does have the power to change anything. (laughs)
You also said on weverse LIVE recently that you made a new friend who you can talk about dramas, movies, and books with. SOOBIN: For me, dramas and movies don’t end with watching them—after you’re done watching, that’s when things are just getting started. I always look up reviews and analyses online. People can watch the same thing and they’ll all have their own thoughts on it, so I’m curious about all those different views, and now I have someone to talk about that with. They know a lot more about books and movies than I do, so I end up learning a lot when we’re sharing our thoughts together. Just having a friend to share my interests with is really fun.
You mentioned talking about Inside Out 2, and you looked at how it features a place to store things you’ve heard that you want to keep for a long time, which got you thinking about what sort of things you would want to hold onto. SOOBIN: I kept recalling things my friends say after we hang out—things like, “SOOBIN, I’m so happy we’re friends,” and, “I feel great whenever I’m with you.” Hearing things like that really touches my heart. Seriously, how often do you get to hear things like that in life? I used to find expressing things like that awkward and weird, but thanks to my friends, I’m getting used to saying I love and appreciate people. You empathized with how Anxiety works harder and feels more anxious than others because they want to be good at things. Are there things you feel you should work harder at than other people? SOOBIN: I’m actually slower at learning choreography compared to the other members. I assumed I’d get a lot better after debuting and regularly performing onstage, but progress was slower than I expected. I didn’t say anything about this before, and I even kept it a secret from the other members, but I actually got separate choreo lessons on the side when we were doing “Chasing That Feeling” and “Deja Vu.” We’d take lessons as a group, and then once I was alone I’d always spend about an hour dancing and working on the little details. I tried so hard with those two most recent songs that I even practiced on my own like that. Seeing as I’m slow, I have to work harder to keep up with the other members. If I have more time, I want to practice more for this comeback, too.
With all the touring you’ve done and the encore performances you have coming up, it must’ve been really hectic getting ready for your Star Chapter: SANCTUARY comeback. SOOBIN: The schedule was really tight this time around—we even had to record vocals in Japan in the middle of the tour since we were in and out of the country—but now that we’re in our sixth year, the five of us were all really fast about things. I could sense that we had grown compared to before since we were faster at recording than we could’ve expected to be in the past and it took us less time to work out the details of the choreography.
The album’s subtitle, SANCTUARY, is a word that’s appeared in TOMORROW X TOGETHER albums before. What’s been your sanctuary these days? SOOBIN: I never used to have a sanctuary, which made getting through tough times hard, but I do now: simple things like working out or reading. It feels like the things that break me away from overthinking and let me immerse myself in something else are my sanctuary.
You were complimented on your previous promotions for your improved vocals and high notes. What about on this album? SOOBIN: Actually, every other album we’ve done had a song in a genre I wasn’t confident in, but not this time. The single “Over The Moon” is really laid-back, and I felt like it was perfect timing for us to try out a song like that. What’s unfortunate is that I caught this horrendous cold during recording. We started practicing for live performances recently, and the director said, “SOOBIN’s singing better than he did when recording. He makes it sound effortless.” So I couldn’t help but think about how much better I could’ve done if only my throat had been in better shape.
You always focus a lot on lyrics. Were there any on this album that have stuck with you in particular? SOOBIN: This album isn’t so much about telling some big, sweeping story as it is about everything we’ve been through together. Now that we’ve been through all that chaos, it’s about the universal emotion of love, which everyone can relate to, and I liked that about it. There’s a line in “Higher Than Heaven” that sticks with me that goes, “I think I kinda get what forever means now.” I even once said, “I never used to believe in the word ‘forever,’ but I think I can now, thanks to our fans.” I didn’t write that part, but it’s like it was written to perfectly capture my feelings.
The other members have probably had an impact on your belief in the word “forever,” too. SOOBIN: I’m pretty sure we’re going to grow old together and that we’ll be together till the day I die. We do the same thing and basically live the same life day in and day out, so we know what makes each other cry the most during concerts, too. Whether it’s my tears of happiness or BEOMGYU’s tears of disappointment from a leg injury, having friends to understand and share those feelings with is nice. They’re all just really kind people—calm and clear, like a stream. None of us is domineering or splashing around, disturbing the peace, and nobody’s dirtying the water, so I think we’ll be able to stick together for a long, long time.
You said before that you had found being onstage tough while touring. Now that you’ve already wrapped up your third world tour, do you still find that to be the case? SOOBIN: I think I’m getting better over time. I still can’t say that I completely enjoy myself, but the worries I used to have before going onstage have gone away entirely. There used to be times where I found it hard to watch myself onstage because I didn’t like how I looked, but now I see myself up there and I think I look cool. (laughs)
The way you have a different outfit on for every sound check when you’re on tour is definitely cool. SOOBIN: For fans who come even though they’re busy, showing up hours before the concert just to wait, doing it purely out of love, I wanted to be more stylish, so I bought a lot of clothes just for sound checks. The glasses-plus-cardigan combo was something I bought in advance for summer, and the reaction from the audience was amazing! They showed me on the big screen and MOA was screaming their lungs out—like, not the usual “wow,” but, “aah!” Like shock and awe. (laughs) I was worried I went overboard with the look, but they showed they liked it, so I was happy.
There’s no way not to bring up your cover of the Choi Yu Ree song “Forest” when talking about you. You said that the people around you are like tall trees in a forest and that you thought you’re one of them, but that you figured out you’re actually more like the ocean. SOOBIN: It’s easy to find people around me who are better looking and sing and dance better than I do. I actually started thinking about that at Lollapalooza. The other members looked so happy and like they were having so much fun onstage, but I couldn’t. I felt eaten up inside seeing myself not being able to fully enjoy it because of all the pressure. Then I heard Choi Yu Ree explaining that “Forest” is about feeling like you’re not good enough and I thought, “Ah, so that’s what I’ve been going through.” I started to understand my emotions a little bit better. Everyone ends up comparing themselves to others at some point in their lives—it’s unavoidable. And they have times where all they can see are the things they hate about themselves, but it’s ridiculous. I was overflowing with negative feelings when I was working on my “Forest” cover, and I wanted to sort of deal with those feelings and express them.
The music video echoes your thoughts that someday you’ll come to shore and become one with the forest. What does the forest mean to you? SOOBIN: Just being a singer who’s good at singing and dancing, interacting with my fans, enjoying performing, and being able to do it all with complete sincerity. I think I was showing how the forest to me means being happy with the other members when they’re happy. Nothing big—just simple things I’m not always that good at.
Do you feel more like a forest now that some time has gone by? SOOBIN: Umm … I saw a ton of comments from fans after I covered “Forest.” My mindset when I was doing it was, Right now I’m like the ocean, but I’ll become a part of the forest just like you guys—so wait for me until then. But once I saw what fans were writing, I changed my mind and thought, Do I really need to become a part of the forest? I could be similar to the forest, but I don’t have to change myself to be one. My fans kept saying, “The whole reason we liked you in the first place is because you’re like the ocean, not because we hoped you’d become like a forest. If that were the case, we’d like somebody else. Why do you think it was you?” The ocean comes with its own perks, you know. You need to have some ocean near a forest to add to the scenery and have more things to do. Now I think maybe I tried too hard to fit in by trying to be like the forest. Now I feel like I can shine bright just by being myself.
That lines up with what you recently said in an interview you did in Japan when you said that your 20s, the best and most energetic time of life, are dazzling and fun thanks to knowing MOA. What do you think you’ll see when you look back on this youthful period of your 20s? SOOBIN: Joy. Every moment of our lives is packed with good times and bad times, joy and sorrow, but in the end, I think, I’m on a path towards joy. Even things that are so agonizing that you want to die—so bad you feel like the whole world is against you, and so bad you’re certain they’re weighing on you forever, eventually pass.
Doesn’t it almost feel funny sometimes, looking back after all that? (laughs) SOOBIN: Yes. It ends up feeling so trivial somehow. Things that felt massive at the time are like a speck in the distance once you get even a little space between them and yourself. Even after all the hardship I went through being a trainee, I can look back now and see there were a lot of good times. Maybe we tend to romanticize the past a bit? (laughs) Even some of the stuff I’m going through now can be tough, to be honest, but I’m never going to give up. There’s still so much I want to give. The amount of joy I derive from doing this is way higher than the amount of difficulty. I think my life’s amazing, even right now.
So amazing. (laughs) SOOBIN: I think so too! (laughs) As time goes on and I get older, when I look back on my youth, my time with TOMORROW X TOGETHER, I wonder if it’ll look that much more shiny and amazing. Maybe I’ll feel I was even cooler at this time than I feel I am now.

Story of Mk where we sit him down and tell him to actually relax. Since this boy needs to have a relaxing day where he isn't stressing.
Maybe we put on Monkey Cop and do a movie marathon?

Having MK home for an extended period of time was usually very difficult. He was a delivery boy, local hero, and successor all at the same time. Suffice to say, home was something he was gradually seeing less and less of. And you weren't having one bit of it. It was all well and good that he was stopping Jin and Yin from messing with the city power and whatnot, but you were beginning to see how it affected them. Dark circles, droopy posture, a more unkempt appearance. Though MK always brushed it off with a smile and a wink, you knew them well enough to look past it. So when you got home one day, you began putting into motion a plan.
MK slid in hours later, closing the door behind them and sighing heavily. Their bandana was loose, hair ruffled, and body language slumped and heavy. As was consistent for the past few months, he looked an absolute wreck. "MK?" You called out, hearing the door closed from another room. MK shook off his exhaustion, quickly making their hair neat and rubbing his eyes. He bounded down the hallway, peeking in your shared bedroom to try and find you.
"Just got home! Where you at, baby?" They called. You came in from the bathroom, giving him a soft, concerned smile. He immediately wrapped you up, vibrant mask in full effect "There you are!". "How was your day?" You asked, immediately taking notice of how MK deflated just a bit. "Well- I'm not reaaally where I wanna be in my training, and the demons attacking today were pretty tough. And Pigsy's Noodles was just crawling with orders-" they listed off. Seeing you frown, MK immediately added, "But I'm fine! It's the end of the day now, so I'm good!". They felt a small hint of stress upon seeing your frown only deepen.
"Hey, hey, what's up? Did something happen?" He asked. "No, but... I'm worried about you" You admitted "You've been stretched thin these past few months. I can't remember the last time I saw you eat anything but noodles, and you're barely home". "I know" MK sighed, rubbing the back of their neck "But it's okay! I'll-"
"It's not okay" You interrupted, not rudely, but firmly "MK, I love you, and you cannot keep doing this to yourself. It's not healthy, honey. I don't want you to run yourself into the ground for other people". MK hung their head a bit, a look of guilt on their face. You gently rubbed their shoulder "I don't want to make you feel forced into anything, and I'll never ask you to give up your dream. But I need you to look out for yourself too, yeah? If you ever need my help, you can always ask". MK nodded, looking back up at you with a small smile, a genuine and vulnerable one this time "You're... right. You always are. It's just so hard with so much going on, y'know? I feel like I've got to be the Monkey Kid, all the time. But with you, I'm just... just Xiaotian"
"And that's an amazing thing" You said, gently kissing his forehead. He smiled wider, returning it by giving you a big kiss to the cheek. You chuckled, ruffling his messy hair "I've got a plan for us tonight, Xiao. Firstly, you gotta get all that hero stink off. Then we'll take it easy, as a first step to taking better care of yourself. Is that okay?". MK chuckled as well at the ruffling, looking at you with appreciative softness "Uh, yeah! Thank you so much, honeybee, I'll catch up in a sec". They gave you another big kiss to your face before picking up a new set of clothes and entering the bathroom.
As the successor cleaned, you prepped the rest of the room. Fluffed pillows, clean comforter, and all of MK's Monkey King cuddleable merch you could carry. You then sped off to the kitchen, picking up a tray of snacks you'd prepared. It didn't take long for MK to emerge again as clean, dressed in comfortable pajamas, with damp hair he was keeping down. They looked at the setup you'd finished as they were gone, glancing to the TV. Seeing what was on, their eyes brightened immensely and a broad grin came on his face.
They scrambled over, hopping into bed and crawling under the covers, causing you to have to catch the snack tray before it got tossed off. "No way!! You got Monkey Cop on DVD?!" They asked excitedly. You sat in beside him, scooting close to his side "It's a DVD set, actually. All the movies are in the box". MK flapped his hands excitedly, trying not to kick too much since he was easily getting tangled in the covers. "Yesss!! Are you finally gonna watch them all with me?" They asked, looking to you like an excited dog. You laughed a little, wrapping an arm around them and pressing your cheeks together "Absolutely. I think it's about time, yeah?"
MK scooped up the remote, quickly starting rhe first movie. He turned off the lights, snuggling down into the covers as he began munching from the bowl of popcorn you'd brought. You leaned into their shoulder as they kept an arm around you, seeing as the movie opened up. MK nuzzled the top of your head. "Thanks for this, babe. I really needed it". You smiled, nuzzling into them into return "No problem. You can come to me whenever, I'll always help you out"
With that, you two cuddled up more, wrapped in a bundle of blankets. MK moved his arm to where he could hold your hand, petting your fingers affectionately with his thumb as he watch the cheesy cop film with you. He made a promise to himself internally in that moment. Days like this, times like these with you, were what he was fighting for the most

[CN] MLQC Lucien’s 2024 Birthday Story - First Snow Wish Translation
⚠ SPOILER ALERT!! ⚠️
This post contains a detailed spoiler for a story that has not been released in EN yet! Feel free to notify me if there are any mistakes in the translation~
Lucien’s 2024 CN Birthday Event (Golden Love Ratio)✧ Birthday Story (You’re here!) | Birthday Prologue + Birthday Date | ASMR | Birthday Party
Of course, he would have his parents live there too, reserving the biggest and most beautiful research room for them.
That way, Mom and Dad wouldn't have to go to the laboratory anymore.
When that time came, he would invent a machine that could make things easier for his parents, so they wouldn't have to be so busy and could spend more time with him.
Translation under the cut!
This year’s theme is “childhood dreams,” so the pre-evolve CG depicts the dreams the boys had as children about what they would be like as adults. Along with the usual birthday R&S-style story, there’s also a chibi event story.
The R&S-style story focuses on his birthday as a child (possibly his 5th birthday, since his 6th is already covered in his 3rd birthday R&S). Meanwhile, the chibi event explores the dream he has. As for translating the chibi events... let’s see if I will have time🤧
[Birthday Story - First Snow Wish]
Loveland City has reached late autumn, but the first snow has yet to arrive.
A little boy sat at his desk, leafing through a thick science magazine and occasionally glancing out at the cold weather outside. At this hour, Mom and Dad should be coming home soon.
As if confirming his intuition, he soon heard the sound of the door lock turning downstairs. The boy's eyes lit up instantly as he dashed out of his room, quickly bouncing down the stairs, where he saw his mom and dad at the entrance, taking off their coats. His dad was holding a box of videotapes, while his mom carried a cake box.
"Happy birthday, my precious! Your dad and I brought a movie on videotape. We think you'll really like it! Want to watch it together?" Mom said, smiling as she hung up her coat and took the boy's hand.
"And besides the cake—" Dad winked mysteriously, "I'm going to show off my skills today and cook a feast for you and your mom."
[T/N: His Mom called him 宝贝 (bǎobèi) 🥺 It's not a loanword from the English "baby," but rather a Chinese term of endearment that literally means "treasure" or "precious one." I translate this word as “my precious” to attempt to capture this nuance.]
In the living room, the television hummed softly. Mom carefully adjusted the VCR, making sure the picture was clear. Dad carried the boy to the sofa and meticulously covered him with a blanket.
The videotape started to play, and a snow-covered castle appeared on the screen. The boy sat between his parents, his small hands holding a steaming plate of dumplings, completely absorbed in the story unfolding on the screen.
[Notes from Lux: The dumplings!!!🤧 reminds me of his first CNY SSR when he asked MC to teach him how to make dumplings 🥺]
The inventor in the movie was creating all sorts of wonderful machines in his castle: flying bicycles, talking teapots, and even a machine that could make rainbows. The boy's eyes widened greatly as he watched these bizarre arrays of fantastical inventions.
"Mom and Dad, will your lab be able to make such magical things in the future?”
Dad laughed cheerfully. "The magic of science is that it can make seemingly impossible things possible. Just like the inventor in the movie, we are also pursuing new discoveries."
"But what's even more magical," he added, "is that... son, whatever you like, Mom and Dad will work hard to make it a reality."
The boy raised his eyebrow a bit skeptically, but he didn’t rush to voice the question in his mind. However, his expression was keenly noticed by his mom, and he felt the gentle touch of her hand on his hair.
"My precious, whether it's science or life, the driving force behind everything is the simplest ‘love’."
Before they knew it, snow began to fall over the small town in the movie, as the film was drawing to a close. The boy contentedly looked at his parents, but then from the corner of his eye, he caught sight of the fresh snowflakes drifting down outside the window. It was the first snow of the year.
"Let's go out and take a look, we can even build a snowman~" Before the boy could even speak, his mom had already read his mind and gave his dad a meaningful glance.
So Dad immediately got up and found scarves and gloves for the three of them. First, he carefully helped the boy put on his hat and tied his scarf, then he wrapped Mom in her favorite warm-colored scarf. Once the three of them were all bundled up, they excitedly headed out the door.
A thin, delicate layer of white snow had already accumulated in the courtyard, glimmering faintly under the streetlight. The boy couldn’t wait to dash into the yard. He reached out his small hands to catch the falling snowflakes, watching them quietly melt in his palms, and let out a laugh of delighted surprise.
Dad squatted down and started building a small snowman. “Come, let’s give it a big belly together.” The boy and his mom joined in, working together seamlessly: the father took charge of building the main body, the mother shaped and refined it, while the boy was responsible for “dressing up” the snowman.
"We should use these for its eyes!" The boy picked up two small pebbles and solemnly pressed them onto the snowman's face.
"What about the nose?" Mom asked.
"How about a carrot? Just like in the movie."
Dad immediately ran home to get a carrot and also brought out one of his old hats. It seems that as long as it’s something the boy imagines, they’ll do their best to make it come true in real life.
"Hmm... it also needs a lab coat, so it looks like the inventor in the movie." The boy examined the snowman quite seriously, just as he saw his mother, unable to hold back a smile, take off her own scarf and attentively wrap it around the snowman's neck.
As the curtain of night began to descend, snowflakes continued to drift down quietly. The snowman stood alone in the snow, wearing Dad's hat and wrapped in Mom's scarf. The boy thought of the grand castle from the movie and the inventor's lone and busy figure in the laboratory.
A tiny hope suddenly welled up from the bottom of his heart. How wonderful it would be if he could live in a place like that when he grew up, surrounded by fantastic inventions, with snow always visible outside the window. Of course, he would have his parents live there too, reserving the biggest and most beautiful research room for them. That way, Mom and Dad wouldn't have to go to the laboratory anymore.
The boy pondered, his eyes gradually lighting up. When that time came, he would invent a machine that could make things easier for his parents, so they wouldn't have to be so busy and could spend more time with him.
However, if he became a scientist like his parents, he could not only explore more of the unknown in the world, but also become as capable as them and help them solve difficult problems at work.
[Notes from Lux: In other words, becoming an inventor was his ‘selfish’ dream, stemming from his desire to spend more time with his parents. However, he also always wants to follow in his parents' footsteps and be a scientist, that way, he can also help them 🤧]
The bright moonlight illuminated the piling snow in the courtyard, casting a long and slender shadow of the snowman across the ground. The boy looked up at the gently falling snowflakes, feeling they were like powdered sugar sprinkled from the sky.
So he caught some of the "powdered sugar" with his gloves and ran toward his parents. Although he hadn’t yet decided on his dreams, he wanted to keep this feeling in his heart forever.
Because more precious than any dream is this snowy night, his parents' smiles, and the small world that belongs to the three of them.
#PAIN ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽#'what a happy family of three! surely nothing bad will ever happen to them'#the way his dream is essentially him wishing to spend more time with his parents :“”“#mlqc lucien#mr love queen's choice#mlqc cn#mlqc spoiler#mlqc#mlqc translation#mr. love queen's choice#mr love lucien#mlqc xu mo#mlqc spoilers

#tmnt#tmnt 1990#tmnt mikey#my art#the movies are cute and silly!!#an abundance of slapstick and a smattering of melodrama under a totally tubular 90s veneer#bit of a nose turn at the language used towards women but otherwise a good laugh out loud time!#anyways omg the first movie when they showed up at April’s door looking like kicked puppies cuz they just lost their home and their dad 🥺🥺🥺#and April who just spent time with them and it was fun and really they are just Kids aren’t they#she lets them stay and tries to protect them and AHHHHHHH when I saw the panda plush I squealed just so freaking Adorable#was definitely jarring immediately going into the sequel and realizing her actor changed and Casey wasn’t in it#Keno was precious though!!! pinoy rep let’s freaking GOOOOOOOOOO#also Rahzar and Tokka being Literal Babies????#hadn’t realized how much inspiration IDW took from this!!#anyways anyways gonna maybe watch the 3rd and 07 later today

I caught the second half the The Avengers on tv last night (haven’t seen it in years), and it’s got my old science boyfriends heart absolutely THUMPING
like, I can’t believe I forgot how gay they are for each other in that movie?!
staring into each other’s souls through the screen and bonding over their ‘terrible privilege.’ tony constantly being like “where’s banner? Where’s banner?! KEEP ME POSTED” through the whole first part of the New York battle. Hulk catching tony as he falls out of the sky and hugging the iron man suit on his chest for like a full 4 seconds before dumping him on the ground. DRIVING OFF INTO THE SUNSET TOGETHER (with Bruce very obviously wearing Tony’s clothes)
for real, I really don’t know how anyone came out of that movie NOT shipping tonybruce.
#and that’s all just the second part cause I missed the first half#let’s not forget ‘big fan of the way you lose control and turn into a giant green rage monster’#the way I’m ready to sit down and start writing stunner fic again rn#I’m still ride or die Pepperony but DAMN#people really saw that movie and shipped stony instead when Bruce is right there??#science boyfriends#stanner#tonybruce#tony stark#bruce banner#avengers#I really forgot how much I adore that movie too#all the feels#15 year old me had no idea watching Avengers for the first time that tony stark would still be my whole personality at 28#*stanner fic#can’t type today lol#brooke.txt

literally I need a slice of life segment scene of Clear catching MC up on lesbian pop culture???? Like making them watch a Shane McCutcheon edit on repeat or throwing carol on the tv
all of them crowding on the couch to watch the L word together would be kind of iconic ngl. Clear definitely has the full series dvd box set (she collects lesbian lit and media). i do have a hard time imagining Valentina watching anything really, she's more of a book kind of gal, but she could definitely be convinced... then she'd probably get really into it, 8pm sharp once a week for the L word episode. or else.
#ive never seen carol actually :/ sowwy...#im behind on a lot of lesbian movies actually bc i have the attention span of a goldfish#last one i watched was the hunger which was like. Okay. kinda slow but that was to be expected#watched it for my novel it actually came up while i was researching lesbian bars apparently it was a favorite#that they played a lot at the bars#it was kinda crazy since my novel is also about lesbian vampires but i had never heard of the movie before#and then to find it while researching the bars rather than like. actual lesbian vampire media. was a fun coincidence#it's considered ~problematic~ by todays standards but apparently back then it was like Huge in the lesbian scene#lesbian tv shows i tend to just not bother with... i find them....bad. i did watch the L word many years ago tho in college (dont rmr much)#same with orange is the new black when i was in high school which was one of the first times i saw a real butch on screen#dont remember much of that either except for natasha lyonne and lea delaria being sexy#ask#anonymous

bitches be like "this is my comfort movie <3" and the movie in question is Wakolda
(it's me, I'm bitches)
#I rewatched it for like the 10th time today#which doesn't sound like much considering this movie is a decade old and I first saw it 9 years ago#but I always love coming back to it#and it's like. I know it's about Mengele and that he was an evil man but the aesthetics of it feels comforting#or maybe I'm just nostalgic about the times I first saw it but still. I love it very much#wakolda#the german doctor#josef mengele

Briefly back from my (sort of?) hiatus to say holy shit, Oppenheimer genuinely blew my mind
#so i saw both barbie and oppenheimer the last couple days#while i really did enjoy barbie and found it really cute i didn’t *love* it#plot was kinda whatever and the whole message did sort feel like something i would have read on here when i first joined nearly a decade ago#ryan and margot were great though!#but oppenheimer…….#i don’t know if i’m gonna be able to think about anything else for the next week at least#what a fucking film#cillian and rdj were absolutely brilliant#i am genuinely fighting people if they both don’t win oscars#the last hour and a half was just captivating in every sense of the word#i don’t usually see a movie more than once in the theaters but i’m 100% making an exception here#christopher nolan you son of a bitch you did it again#the ending was so harrowing too#legit the best film i’ve seen in some time#anyway#i just saw it today and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since#what a picture#oppenheimer#also#since i’ve been seeing this discourse everywhere mostly from people that haven’t even seen the film#this film is not in the slightest fucking pro-bomb or pro-military complex????#it makes its stance on the bomb very fucking clear throughout and especially during the speech scene and the ending#i have no idea HOW anyone can come away from this film thinking that the atom bomb is a good thing or that oppenheimer was a good man#like did we see the same movie???#anyway i’m just annoyed by this disingenuous discourse#media literacy is dead
