But will quickly drag a female character through the mud without sympathy for their circumstances just because they don't fit your ideals, will get mad when poc criticize a female character's actions that are very thinly coded in racism and say "support her crimes!" while ignoring how that often leads to the harm of poc characters, will shade woc characters or put them on higher pedestals than their yte counterparts while ignoring the harm they face while trying to meet your standards, will victim blame those who suffer (and are still suffering) from abuse when they act out in ways you deem "wrong" because of it, following up with the last point will mock and laugh at said abuse to uplift another female character (pitting women against women, even when the narrative does not ask for that), will dismiss any valuable argument displayed if the said female character is a little mean but then go and say "why can't female characters be mean? 🙄"

there’s genuinely no point in taking certain fans of That character seriously because they’ll be the first to purposefully misunderstand the story in order to uplift their own useless fav + any other female character with the slightest bit of autonomy is reduced to a girlboss caricature.

it’s basically the ‘masculine’ vs ‘feminine’ women trope and how all of these women suffer from the same system but some have fought their way towards having basic bodily sovereignty and others have assailed themselves within their circumstances, “you desire not to be free but to make a window in the wall of your prison,” and either perpetuate the abuse they deal with OR sit back and take it like a ‘good’ woman, hence the lack of culpability the stans of said character allow her to be responsible for. the mentality at play here is ‘she is a victim but she cannot possibly ALSO be a victimizer’ but both *can* be true at the same time.

rhaenyra is fighting to be the first ruling queen of westeros, a position that has been set in place before (aerea/rhaenys), but never come to fruition. her heirship has been contested since day one simply on account of her womanhood, not her political prowess or the dubious parentage of her first three sons. this is a fact, and the consequences surrounding her ascension have facilitated a civil war all in the name of the status quo. one side is attempting to honor the wishes of a deceased king, the other wants power, and uses the patriarchal standards already in place to further that goal. this leads to the death of rhaenyra, all but two of her biological children (to her only one survived), her former good mother, her husband, and the assured extinction of dragons.

rhaenyra is looked down upon by a certain portion of this fandom because the concept of protofeminism doesn’t exist to them. the idea that a woman being allowed to take a position of power during the medieval ages might lead to greater precedents involving women’s rights, which is exactly on par with westeros relying on the precedence of male preference primogeniture and the ruling made by the great council of 101ac. rhaenyra, obviously, didn’t make significant changes to women’s positions in westeros because she only ruled for a six month period in king’s landing and was beset by betrayal and treachery consistently during this period.

she was involved in a war that annihilated almost her entire family for the baby step progress of ‘daughters can inherit over sons,’ there was no time to help others when she was losing allies left and right to this very war. cases like the rosby and stokeworth situation are used to back up this take, dispite it being agreed upon rhaenyra verbatim chose to pass over them for fear of losing even more allies AND to protect the girls from being sold to violent misogynistic rapists as war prizes, not just because she believed herself to be the exception to the rule (corlys, in fact, is the one to state this). we also have no definitive proof showwise, either, that she truly believes in the system of men come before women -always- when the only thing said in regard to this is a throwaway line of jacaerys and baela’s sons inheriting the iron throne followed by her stating lucerys and rhaena’s children will inherit the driftwood throne, which is most likely a poor writing choice behind the scenes rather than any concrete proof to the latter.

brave baela, named after her grandsire baelon ‘the brave’ TARGARYEN, daughter of daemon TARGARYEN and laena velaryon, who had TARGARYEN ancestry, granddaughter of rhaenys TARGARYEN ‘the queen who never was,’ rider of the dragon moondancer, identifies completely with her targaryen ancestry and it is an integral part to understanding her character. she is of blood and fire, not salt and sea, and believes driftmark should pass accordingly to someone who corlys would value much more than her, the little girl he’s constantly overlooked on account of her gender.

baela is fighting to put rhaenyra on the throne and in turn jace and herself as the future king/queen. it’s not just for herself or for her stepmother, but for those who have now fallen as well. “i grieve my grandmother who loved me, but i carry her on with me. i will see rhaenyra ascend the iron throne, as rhaenys wished. as rhaenys HERSELF should have.” this cause is bigger than baela, bigger than rhaenyra herself, and baela knows this. yet somehow she’s ‘boring’ and ‘cringe’ in her dialogue or ‘nothing but a cheerleader,’ because she does not carry hatred in her heart for her kin over things they themselves cannot control.

what they have in common is their will, their wants, their ambitions; something that can’t be said for the other character because the writers want her to be a lead but don’t know what to do with her. she’s been relegated to nothing more than her hypocrisy, her self righteousness, her victimhood. she sleeps with a man whilst not married, she takes abortive teas against her religion, she abandons her children in their need for comfort, she’s spat on by the men around her and her own sons when seeking to place herself back into a familiar position of power. this isn’t the first time she’s experienced misogyny, but it is the first time she’s feeling the full ramifications of ridiculing and conspiring against the female claimant redirected at her, on account of the same reasons she took advantage of to propagate herself and her eldest son.

in the grand scheme of things rhaenyra and baela wouldn’t even typically be considered ‘masculine’ women, they’re just outspoken, assertive, and proactive; prone to not taking every bad thing that happens to them without at least some type of their own get back, and it doesn’t revolve around abusing other women to uplift themselves and the men they surround themselves with. which isn’t to say that the ‘feminine’ women’s strifes don’t matter, but to certain stans if they aren’t sitting back and being a pretty passive victim their struggles as a woman don’t count, for whatever reason.

Charbee Prompts Part 7

(im going to number these now)

What if Bee never left the garage?

What if Charlie decided to not go to work

What if Charlie watched over Bee after the police chase?

Bee was never found. After a year of no results, the government got impatient and killed the Shatter and Dropkick and destroyed any trace of their presence, not even daring to use their technology out of fear of the Soviets getting their hands on them. The Autobots still arrive on Earth but Bee was missing, unable to be contacted and traced.

For the past seven years, Charlie and Bee were inseparable. Charlie didn’t want Bee to be cooped up all his life so after she went to trade school for auto mechanics, she decided to spend the next few years traveling the world with her best friend, taking side jobs as a mechanic.

While visiting a few countries in Europe, Bee sees the beacon from the transwarp key. Realizing that only Bee could see it, the two hopes that there are other people like him. Bee searches for any sign of the transwarp key and follows the sign to Peru. They look around and detects Cybertronian activity on two terribly disguised humans, Elena and Noah, sneaking through a parade and into an underground temple. Charlie follows them into the cave which the Autobots take notice.

After Noah and Elena finds the key missing, Charlie accidentally reveals herself and is held at gunpoint. Noah tells Mirage that someone followed them so Charlie runs away. Noah and Elena chase after her before all three being cornered by Primal. Mirage arrives, aiming his blaster at Primal and Charlie, who realizes that there’s more robots like Bee. When Mirage gets tackled, Bee comes rushing in to defend Charlie.

The rest of the Autobots arrive, overjoyed and shocked to see Bee alive but Bee doesn’t recognize them. Arcee scans Bee, realizing that he has no memory. Optimus assures Bee that they will come to no harm to Charlie and after some convincing, he alongside the Maximals stand down. Although, Bee is wary about the Autobots.

The bots reveal that Bee was a scout named B-127 and that their species in a middle of a war. Prime expects Bee to come back but Bee doesn’t want to leave, wanting to stay with Charlie. It starts tension that leads to an arguement that Charlie tries to calm down. Optimus, in his rage, blames Charlie which leads to Bee accidentally activating his gun out of protection and nearly shooting Prime. In his shock and fear, Bee storms away.

Bee apologizes to Charlie who knows that he didn’t mean to put her in danger. He feels a bit uncomfortable, wanting to go back to the status quo. Charlie says that Bee has to leave because he has people who needs him even though Bee doesn’t want to. Neither does Charlie but she doesn’t say anything.

The Terrorcons then attack and Bee helps fight them while the humans run away. Charlie sees Noah trying to destroy the key but she tries to convince him not to and confesses that she loves Bee so much that she wants him to return home. Optimus and Noah hears this and Noah changes his mind. Charlie and Elena gets captured by Airazor but while Elena gets dropped, Charlie is taken away.

Bee is furious but doesn’t want to fight, having no collective memory on how to. Optimus is understanding and allows him to sit out so they can save Charlie.

The usual fight happens. Scourge holds Charlie captive and Mirage saves her, telling her to run through the vents Noah and Elena are using. When Noah is caught, Charlie tries to protect him, leading to Mirage sacrificing himself for both of them. Mirage turns into a suit for Noah and gives Charlie a blaster to defend Elena with.

Bee is back with the natives and debates to go. He doesn’t want to be in a war but remembers Charlie’s words and at the same time, the Energon blast erupts, giving Bee his memories again. Bee arrives at the fight and the movie ends as usual.

Bee and Charlie both prepare to part ways, hugging and confessing, until Optimus says that the Charlie can help Noah rebuild Mirage, allowing her to stay a little bit longer.

you ever just get burnt out of writing a fic because writing a romantic relationship is hard even tho you like queer relationships and that's the kinda relationship you're trying to write? so then you get possessed by some demon in the middle of doing something completely different and write over 600 words for a QPR fic? while also still questioning your own sexuality? cause you're pretty sure you're ace (even tho you've never done the 'thing' so maybe you just don't know yet? but thinking about doing the 'thing' makes you incredibly uncomfortable? but you're also a transguy with super bad dysphoria so maybe it's just that and when you finally have surgery and start liking your body it won't sound so gross?) and now you're also questioning if you're aro cause relationships are wired but also kissing sounds nice as a concept? but all the germs? that's so gross? and holding hands sounds comfy except for the fact that you have super sweaty hands so it would just be an annoying experience for you and whoever you held hands with? but also you're too busy with life right now to even conciser a relationship? and sometimes people are attractive? but like, you only used to find guys attractive? (but you're a transguy so was that really attraction or was it gender envy?) but now you're starting to find some girls attractive? and genderqueer people are a whole nother ballgame anyways? and femininity can be nice? but masculinity can also be nice? and androgony is super cool? but maybe it's all just interesting as a concept? and you're probably aroace so why would you even find people attractive to begin with? and your mental health is declining again which is scary and annoying because you were supposed to be done with that after getting gender care? because the depression was only supposed to be from the dysphoria? but maybe its from more stuff? and that's more stuff than you can afford/have time to deal with?

One of the few things I will actually get nostalgic for is back when we did kinda all understand that even when a movie was set "in reality" sometimes bonkers shit would happen and that was fine because it's a movie. Like now absolutely everything has to make logical sense or have 50 pages of lore or a whole director's commentary justifying why it doesn't and it SUCKS.

Like I do think keeping certain things realistic in media Is Important and I won't lie I love me a good "real x reacts to the x in y film" video or a historical costume takedown but at some point we all gotta learn how to be okay with movies not being realistic again. That CinemaSins/Honest Trailers mindset of "lets pick apart every movie for every single thing that isn't realistic or contradictory or not explained right now/enough" completely ruins your brain and we gotta start to walk back that damage so we can go on to support and make silly, heartfelt, fun movies that don't have to bend over backwards to try to suspend your disbelief for you or whatever.

AND DISAPPOINTED. but mostly immensely SAD. like, sure, we’re technically not owed anything, but in the end all music fans want is to be able to see their favorite artists live. and if they don’t tour at all, well, that’s something, i respect that. but to see artist after artist after artist go touring and just ignoring and leaving out your area —mind you, my area has a population of 6.1 MILLION PEOPLE and plenty of venues to accommodate any kind of act and any capacity— for no fucking good reason is so, so, so disheartening. sorry for being some dumb cowboys unworthy of your indie artsy presence, i guess.
