Daddy’s little girl part 2
(part one here^)
Same warnings apply
This one is going to have a lot more plot to it as I really enjoy writing it. Sorry if that’s not your thing. I promise there will still be smutty filth though. If you just want the smutty bit it is at the end bit fyi.
Also your mothers name is Claire and your fathers is Joseph.
Angry. You went straight to your closet. If you weren’t desperate earlier then god knows what you are now.
You were so close to your fantasy. His dick was literally in your hand. But no he turned you away. He got you all riled up and then took that release away from you.
You weren’t a needy girl. You’d never begged for something a day in your life. Until today.
So now you knew he had to pay. Call you childish? But you were just that angry.
Yet there was nothing you could do. Or was there?
You decided to make it your mission to make him beg for you. To be on his knees in despair.
You pulled out the best dress you had. It was black, and low at the front. Not too short but it hugged your figure as though it were spandex.
Tumblr media
(I imagine something like that^)
You were a confident girl on the outside. You wore skimpy outfits and didn’t hide your body. But every girl in the world is insecure. You can always be thinner. Look better.
However a girl can never let a man see their insecurities, oh no, you have to be confident, sexy, gorgeous.
You knew your father would go absolutely crazy at the sight of your very tight dress and see through tights. And hopefully your daddy would go crazy too. But not in the same way obviously.
You wanted him to need you. Just like you needed him.
You curled your hair in a soft blowout style and did your makeup to accentuate your features. Especially your eyes. You wanted to achieve the perfect doe eyes that would have any man crumbing. You already had sex eyes according to Maya, ones of a perfect porn star. Yet you just had to make them even more lustful.
And you achieved that. Your lips so soft and juicy as you coated them in your favourite lip liner and a shimmery Kiko lip gloss.
Then you decorated the outfit by adding a gold necklace and matching hoops on your ears.
You looked perfect.
I felt bad for the way I practically kicked the girl out of my room. But I couldn’t fight away the temptations around her. Heck I already gave in.
I managed to put a stop to it, but not before she had her hand wrapped around my cock. Fuck I was going to get hard again just by thinking about it.
Why was the girl getting to me so much?
She’s my best friends daughter, it’s so wrong.
But if it’s so wrong then why did it feel so right?
Maybe I was just going crazy since the divorce. Being cheated on does things to a person. Like I told the girl, we weren’t in love anymore, but it still hurts.
Maybe it’s just the fact that I haven’t had sex in a year. Not having sex does things to a person too. But then she hadn’t had sex with anyone.
She was a prized possession. I wanted to be the first one to claim her. To make her feel good. To make her mine and only mine.
Stop.
As you made your way back down the stairs you were greeted by your mother.
“Oh you look gorgeous y/n.”
“Thank you mommy, you look beautiful too.” You replied as you hugged the woman that natured you. You began to realise the repercussions of your mission. How your mother would be absolutely devastated to find her daughter obsessed with a man older than her father, but it was only by one year.
You shook your doubt aside and put your neediness first.
“Everyone is in the living room sweetie, Ezra’s friend from college is joining us also.” Your mother told you as she guided you to the living room.
Hayden’s head practically shot up at the site of you, alerting everyone that you had entered the room.
You made your way towards your brother as he embraced you in a hug.
“How you doing squirt.” He teased as you pushed him slightly.
“Hey Brooke.” You muttered with a small wave to the blonde girl you’d met previously. She smiled back and said hello.
“Josh, this is my little sister y/n.”
“It’s nice to meet you.” You nodded at the boy. He smiled and greeted you. You were quick to realise he had an attraction to you. Something that you would most likely use to your advantage. If you weren’t so obsessed with the man standing next to your father, you would have found this boy some what attractive. But now all you had eyes for was Hayden.
“Y/n, what are you wearing?” Your father’s voice boomed turning your attention away from gazing at the man next to him.
“A dress.”
“Says who?”
“Calvin klein” you replied with a small smirk towards the tall figure.
“It looks like underwear, go upstairs and put something over it.”
“Duh I was just going to.” you sighed as you left the room and came back with practically a see through shirt over your shoulders. (Sorry for the clueless dialogue but I just had to.)
You were quick to realise Hayden’s outfit. He had a suit on. He looked fucking memorising.
Calm down y/n.
As y/n walked through the door, I practically had to pick up my jaw from the floor. She looked stunning. There was no way I could resist myself if she tried anything.
But I did have to try, if not for my own sanity then for the man standing next to me. I couldn’t allow myself to get sucked into her memorising ways.
I watched as she greeted everyone in the room except from me and her father. The way she was so polite and mature. Maybe age is just a number.
“You’re not seriously going to let her out like that, are you?”
The second the words left my mouth, I knew I overstepped. Why was I getting so possessive, my newfound obsession only started earlier today.
I didn’t even want anyone to look at her.
Calm down Hayden.
“Ok. Let’s go before your father makes you change completely.” Your mother muttered as you made your way to the driveway.
Ezra would take Brooke and Josh in his car leaving your mother, father and Hayden in the other.
You had a choice. Which car?
You knew no one else would find your decision weird apart from Hayden. If you drove with them he might think your were desperate. But if you didn’t drive with them he might think you were trying to prove something.
And the fact is, you were desperate. So you chose driving with him.
As your mother and father climbed into the front seats, you watched as Hayden opened the door for you. God what a gentleman.
“After you.”
“Thank you,” you said as you came up close before whispering your final word into his ear. “Daddy.”
The drive was already feeling long and it had only been a matter of minutes. The only gap between you and your conquest was the middle seat of the car which had been occupied by his hand.
His hand. His hand that could fit two of yours inside it. Large, coarse. You bet they would feel so good inside of you.
You readjusted slightly as you regretted your decision to go commando. You were definitely going to have soaked thighs by the end of the night.
Oh but that hand. Your mind ran wild as your pictured it yanking your hair whilst your mouth sucked him off.
You couldn’t control yourself as you too put your hand onto the middle seat, slightly brushing against his.
He was quick to pull his away as he took off his coat jacket. Were you making him hot and sweaty all ready? You had barely even started his torture.
He placed his jacket down on top of your hand that still lay in the middle seat. Then he slid his hand underneath it, quickly grasping yours tightly. Your fingers locking against each other.
Oh. It was a cover. Clever man.
You turned your head and looked at him with longing eyes. His met your own.
But this time your pussy didn’t drip, instead your stomach filled with butterflies. You thought this was only lust? But was it just the beginning of something more?
His fingers traced circles on your palm as you finally pulled your eyes away from his.
You closed your eyes for just a second, relaxing in your seat, finding comfort in his touch.
I knew it was wrong the second I took my jacket off. Touching even her hand in the same car as her father? Who was I turning into.
It was just lust. It was pure sexual attraction.
So then why did I feel my heart beating so heavily at the touch of her hand.
She fell asleep. And god she looked so beautiful as she slept. She was an angel.
As we finally reached the restaurant I quickly peeled my hand away.
“Oh bless my baby, she’s fallen asleep.” Claire said as she looked at the fallen angel next to me.
“For fucks sake.” Joe sighed as he shook his head and began getting out the car.
He tossed me the keys as I caught them quickly.
“Wake her up and meet us inside Hayden, she hates being woken up, have fun.” He tutted as Claire frowned and followed her husband out of the car.
I waited until they were in the doors of the restaurant before I began to wake her up. I wasn’t trying to hide anything but she looked so peaceful that I just didn’t want to do it.
I ran my hand up her leg softly and looked towards her. “Wake up baby.” I then said shaking her leg slightly.
Her eyes opened within a second meeting my own as she moved around waking up.
She then looked around realising we were here. And completely alone in the car. That when the smile came across her lips. Fucking hell she was bad.
“We’re here?” She asked her voice slightly sleepy.
“Yeah, they’ve gone to get the table sweetheart.”
As soon as you realised you were alone, you knew it was your chance. Falling asleep was not your intention but his comfort led you into a trance.
But now the sweetness in you would be gone. It was time to pounce. You were practically feral.
You pulled at your door as it was locked from the inside. Stupid fucking child lock that your father made sure to be put only on your side years ago.
But oh how you wanted to thank him for that stupid lock now.
You pulled myself up onto him. Straddling his crotch with your legs either side. You had him right were you wanted him.
“Y/n” he warned as he let out a sharp breathe.
You grinded your hips forward as you reached over him, unlocking his door.
“My doors locked.”
Your tits were now inches away from his lips as you slid onto him even more.
“Baby.” He warned you once again, yet you didn’t move, instead you gazed down at him, locking eye contact as you bit your lip in anticipation.
And that’s when he bit you.
You thought you would be absolutely shocked at the feel, heck at the sight of it. Which you were. But then why was your cunt throbbing?
You looked down to see he bit the back side of your neck as a small moan left your lips.
“Are you going to be a good girl for daddy?” He asked as he bite the skin once again causing another noice to escape you.
“Y/n, I told you before I need words.”
You shook your head as you grinded yourself onto him trying to find pleasure for your burning heat.
He shook his head as he gripped his hands onto your waist, his nails drilling in your skin holding you down. You tried to move once again but his grip was so firm that you couldn’t.
You kept trying, refusing to give up, yet it got you nowhere.
He quickly turned you over, your front now on his lap.
He slid his hand up your left leg going all the way up into your dress. He pulled your dress up onto your back and slid your tights down your thighs. Your ass now completely exposed.
“No panties?” He chucked as you lay needy in his lap. “Such a pretty whore. I’m going to give you another chance y/n. Are you going ti be a good girl?”
You wanted to say yes, to submit yourself to him. But fuck you wanted to see what he would do if you said no.
“N-no.” You stuttered, the words coming out shaky.
He kissed his teeth as he ran his palm across your ass, his other hand slid beneath you and gripped onto your hip, holding you in place.
He slapped your ass harshly. You wanted to cry. But instead you moaned. You felt yourself dripping onto his leg.
“You’re going to count y/n.” He told you as he rubbed his palm softly over the same spot just like he did before
You nodded submissively, loosing all your power you previously had only seconds ago.
“Words.” He told you as he slid his hand towards your needy cunt.
“You’re so wet.” He sighed as he ran his fingers through your folds feeling your leaking juices.
“Ye-yes.”
“Yes what?”
“Yes daddy.”
“Is this turning you on baby. Is me spanking you making you drip.”
“Yes.”
“Yes what?”
“Yes daddy.” You practically moaned out as his fingers left your heat and moved back onto your ass.
“Beg.”
“Wh-what?”
“Beg for me to spank you like the little slut that you are.”
“Please daddy, please spank me.” You moaned out as you pleaded for it.
“Hmm,” he laughed. “I’m going to need more than that y/n”
“Please daddy please, I’m your little slut please just spank me please.” God he was making you sound insane.
“Your wish is my command princess.”
“Count.” He commanded as he sent a slap to the same spot.
“One.” You moaned out, unable to control how loud you were being.
“Two. three. Four. Five. Six. Se-ven. Eight. Nine.”
It continued until you had counted up to nine, your voice barely coming out as the moans took over. Tears brimmed your eyes over the stimulation.
“Think you can take one more sweet girl?” He hissed as his fingers traced over the now red hand prints that lay across one side of your ass.
“Ye-yes daddy. One more please.”
“Oh look at you, you’re a mess.” He chucked as he lifted up your chin looking into your teary eyes and smudged makeup.
“Okay just one more.” He said as he sent a final slap onto your ass. This time it was so much harder. “Ten.”Once his hand landed back onto your ass he squeezed it whilst you whimpered, like the mess that you were.
He placed a kiss against the even redder marks before pulling your tights back over you.
He lifted you up and opened the door as you practically fell across the seat trying to pull your dress back down whilst he stepped out.
What has this man done to you?”
“Let’s go Princess.” He said sweetly, his demeanour had changed almost instantly as he put out his hand.
You took his hand, unsure if you could even walk as he lifted you out of the car. His hand not leaving yours as he slammed the car door shut.
He then moved his hand onto your ass, stroking it gently through your dress as placed a kiss upon your cheek causing you to smile.
“God I’m hungry.” He smirked.

65. who has been your best friend and why?

sophie i unfortunately and fortunately met only this year! i dont get to see her a lot but she is the most considerate and supportive person i have ever met n she deserve the world. she’s helped me through a lot and is always willing to listen which i really appreciate. ive said this here before but shes done things for me before that no one else has and i am sooo grateful!!! also very creative mind that i can relate to. shes patient w my anxiety and like ?? respects me ?? what i concept honestly.. A1 friend.

chapter two is out here! or read below the cut!
Dean turned the key to unlock the door. they all stepped inside, still in their moment of Revelation. the silence was eventually broken by jack saying, “why’s it empty?”
“It’s ‘cause our furniture isn’t here yet,” Cas explained. Dean tacked on that it would be arriving sometime today. In the meantime, before the stuff arrived, Dean took the time to explain what exactly this endeavor meant for everyone. He had applied online for a mechanic job the week prior, they had only gotten back to him to tell him he got the job the day before. Dean was still reeling from everything happening so fast. it’s like everything hed wanted for so many years was finally coming to fruition, and it was an adjustment.
Cas had signed both Jack and Claire up for school. Jack was going into first grade and Claire into her senior year of high school. Obviously, Claire was older than that, but she could pass as younger just for a little while, while everything was sorted out. Plus she could gather valuable intel that way. The hard part would be getting her to agree to this plan. Jack, on the other hand, was completely thrilled about starting school. He couldn’t wait to be able to have friends his own age. Cas didn’t have much to do throughout the day, but with the other stay-at-home parents in the neighborhood, he was sure he could find some way to help out.
Snapping out of his daydream, Dean took the time to explain how everything would go in the next month or so. “I got a job at the repair shop down the road, Cas will stay here and look after everything, Jack will go to school like we planned, and Claire, we sort of set you up in school again.”
“Wow, you guys are really on a kick of making life decisions without asking me arent you!”
“Claire, it was the best option at the time, we needed the intel from kids that age, and its not like Dean or I could just walk in and ask,” Cas explained.
There was no doubt about it, she reacted as expected. Even though shed only been out of school for a year or so, she’d never enjoyed it when she was involved, so the thought of going back made her sick to her stomach. Since there was really no where to stomp off too, as the entire house was empty, she settled for sitting on the floor behind the kitchen island to process. Some ten minutes later Dean came and sat down on the floor next to her.
“Look, I get it. Nothing can be perfect for us, but sometimes you just gotta tough it out and it’ll be better than you think.”

(This is a flashback to the action point just so everyone knows whats happening)
It was a normal Tuesday evening. The couple was eating dinner just as normal. Quiet conversation, and unspoken glances were commonplace for them, so the feeling over eerie silence was nothing new, and neither thought anything of it. They didn’t even hear the sound of the door open. Did the door even open?
The husband reached across the table for the salt, his wife screamed in horror when she caught sight of the tall hooded figure above him. The town was small and she shouldve known who it was at first sight, but unfortunately, when youre about to be stabbed, those things dont come as easy. She reached across the table for her phone to call 911, but she didnt make it before the figure had stabbed her husband and was moving on to her. Those were the last thoughts she had before being found in a pool of her own blood the next morning.
The neighbor had heard them and called the cops. News spread like the blight, and everyone was taken in for questioning, so far, no motive or prime suspects had been declared. It had been a month since, and the police presence was now slim to none, even though almost no progress had been made into the actual investigation. That’s just how it is when you have to solve a murer case with nothing to go on but a dead couple and a town of suburbanites.

(this is bak in normal time just fyi)
After about half an hour of just trying to process what was happening, Claire was ready to go back to join the rest of her family in putting their furniture together. Cas was sitting on the floor in front of what looked like it could be a table, if you positioned it correctly.
“You need some help?” She asked.
“Yes, if it isnt too much to ask, I could use an extra hand,” he gestured to the manual, “it says you need two people here anyway.”
Claire sat down next to cas and took the manual from his hands, “what step are you even on? None of the pictures look like whatever you’ve managed to create.”
Upstairs, Dean was trying to show Jack how to use an impact driver, “look, I know youre only like what? Five? But its never too early to learn how to use a set of tools.” He handed the tool over to Jack, it looked wildly disproportionate in his hands but that’s not what mattered, what mattered was the fact that he was having a bonding moment with his son, a positive one too. He was bridging the gap of what he missed in his childhood, and giving Jack what he had wanted.

The next day was spent almost exclusively on introductions. First they went over and greeted their new neighbors on each side, Tracey and Paul Wayne on their right, and Peter and Vicky David on their left. It seemed to them that neither of them had much of a clue as to what was going on regarding the murder, seeing as that was not mentioned even in passing. However it could be basic politeness and not wanting to scare your new neighbors away. Both couples were in their mid-fiftes and greeted them kindly. The Waynes had a wooden statue of an eagle with some pro-America quote on it, and that was one of the most memorable things about them. The other memorable thing was their brigh red Volkswagon Beetle in the driveway. Dean silently noted a love of older cars as something to connect over in case he ever needed to get closer to them. The Davids had 6 small dogs, and that was their defining trait, they seemed like the people to have “I love my shitzu” stickers plastered all over their car, but they seemed like fine enough people.
The next thing on the agenda was when someone rang their doorbell. It was a woman about their age, who had come to their door both to introduce herself, and to inform them of a house party happening later that night. The woman introduced herself as Hester Stewart from two houses down. Both Dean and Cas were glad to see that there was someone their age who didn’t have a strange amount of pets, or questionable taste in outdoor decor. They made introductions of their own, Claire and Jack even briefly appeared to say hello. They asked her for more information about the party, and she explained that it was being put on by the HOA president to distract from all that was happening, “I guess she figured one shindig would make everyone forget about the murder that happened a few houses down from her house.” She gestured down the road and to the right, apparently in the direction of the woman’s house, “Also she did ask me to invite you, I’m not just asking you to show up without anyone’s permission,” she clarified.
After that they thanked her and went on with their day. “Do you think we should attend the party later today?” Cas asked. Not looking up from the loveseat he was putting together
“I think I was planning on it, it’d be a good way to get out and meet people, not to mention gather details on what’s happening around here without looking suspicious,” Dean replied, flipping the page in the manual.
Cas agreed. Usually events like this weren’t his thing, but he could suck it up for an hour or two if it meant gathering intel. He made a mental note to prepare for more events like this one, and pushed it to the back of his mind. He found himself having to do that more often since becoming human. His angel brain could process more information than any human by hundreds, but downsizing the amount of space in his brain was an adjustment, and he found himself having to push things of the back of his mind more often.
Claire had been eavesdropping from the top of the staircase for the past exchange. Truth be told, she was almost excited to ‘meet the new neighbors’ in such a domestic fashion. She had just gotten off the phone with Kaia, she was showing her the layout of the house, as well as updating her on the situation she had gotten herself into. “They really put you back in high school?” Kaia had asked, thinking about how if anyone had done that to her, she’d’ve put up a lot more of a fight.
“They really put me back in high school,” she had replied. Maybe deep down she did want to sort of have the closure she missed in her high school years.  She missed Kaia a large amount for only not seeing her face to face for a little less than a week, but she had learned from all she’d lost, that she just had to let herself feel her feelings.
They all gathered in the empty living room shortly after. Cas explained the whole plan to Jack and her. Jack was thrilled to be getting out of the house, and getting to see new people. He’d always been a social person, even before becoming a child, but that certainly amplified his social need. This was part of the reason Dean and Cas wanted to get out of the bunker in the first place. Now that they were actually in a position for him to make friends his age, they were certainly going to make that a priority. Dean had noticed that there were more than a few kids Jack’s age in his walk around the neighborhood earlier that day.
The hours before the gathering came faster than expected. Everyone was in a rush to change into nicer clothes and make themselves not look like they’d been putting together furniture all day. (they had, but it was the act of making themselves presentable that matters in this case.) After all, weren’t first impressions the most important? Dean hadn’t really taken account the need for nice clothes this early on in his endevour, so the nicest things he had were a button down and his spare pair of jeans. Not that anyone else was much better off. Claire was wearing a skirt with a jean jacket and combat boots, Jack didn’t change at all seeing as he didn’t see the need, and who were they to argue. Cas was probably the most normal looking of them all, with his blue suit jacket paired with some jeans.

Doctor Who: The Haunting of Villa Diodati (12x08)
Woah damn. I really, really liked this episode.
Cons:
Honestly, the only "con" I have is that Jack Harkness isn't going to be in the rest of the season, and that we didn't see the Master... going in to the next two weeks, it seems to me that there is simply way too much content still left to cover. Where is the focus going to be? Are some of these elements going to bleed over into the next season? Sometimes I feel like we're just getting started in exploring the 13th Doctor, and I get nervous that this will all be over too soon.
Pros:
So I may or may not have been an English major in undergrad, with a specific focus on the Romantic and Victorian eras of writing. This may or may not be entirely my jam.
I loved the creepy house, the gathering of literary giants of the era, the practically mythical origin story for Mary Shelley's genre-creating Frankenstein, Lord Byron being a total player. It was all so... familiar to me, like seeing old friends on the TV. A real treat.
In specific, I love what they did with the character of Byron. Doctor Who has never been a show with a ton of romance at its core, but over the years we've seen plenty of dalliances between the Doctor and various folks they run into on their adventures. I'm glad that now that the Doctor is being played by a woman, there hasn't been a plethora of examples of men falling over themselves to be close to her. But at the same time... why shouldn't someone fall all over her? She's pretty remarkable. I loved that Byron had a clear and stated interest, but that it never ended up going anywhere concrete. That was such a fun tension to play with. And good on Claire Clairmont for stepping away and asserting herself when she realized that Byron's affections were fickle. (Although, on a darker note... that little baby dies at age five, just as a historical bummer FYI).
I also love that Byron's philandering is something that has had such an impact on literary history that it can still be the punchline to a joke in the year 2020. When the Doctor and the fam approach Villa Diodati, they go over the two rules: don't mention Frankenstein, and don't snog Byron.
The creepy happenings in the house itself are really interesting. First, it seems that people can't get where they're trying to go - walking through doors and down stairs only to find themselves back where they started. Then, Graham sees what appears to be a ghost mother and daughter (a complete red herring, which I really liked). There's a creepy hand, a skull where the baby should be, etc. etc..
And then the truth starts to unravel itself - a seemingly defective Cyberman shows up and tries to get to Percy Shelley, who is apparently the "Guardian," having picked up a piece of Cyberman tech containing the collective knowledge of all Cybermen. The Doctor ends up taking on the task herself, saving Percy but potentially condemning countless future people, since she "gave the loan Cyberman what he wanted," the exact thing Jack Harkness had told her not to do.
This is so intriguing. Obviously one of the big highlights of the episode was the Doctor's angry speech to her companions, stating that sometimes, even she can't win. She can't just let Shelley die at this point - that would alter the course of history, erase all of his future writings, and influence countless other people. It's a fixed point in time. On the other hand, she's foregoing a warning from Jack, taking on something she doesn't understand by becoming the Guardian, and making things potentially a lot worse overall. How is one person meant to make a choice like that? This show has made a good case for the fact that one person shouldn't be able to make a choice like that, and yet when it comes down to it, sometimes that's just how it works out.
Mary Shelley was my favorite part of the episode, I think. I loved how brave she was, how devoted to her future husband (technically she's not even Mary Shelley yet, but she's already calling herself that). And she wants to write, but is feeling discouraged about it. Ryan and the others give her a boost. There's also the fun implication that her experience with the Cyberman, who is a monster only in that he was created to be one, serves as inspiration for Frankenstein. But that narrative is also complicated by the fact that the Cyberman fully leans in to his monstrous instincts, and doesn't provide that hint of pathos that we get with Frankenstein's Monster. Very fascinating.
This is one of those reviews where I could probably go on and on. I loved it all - the atmosphere, the spookiness, the implications for the Doctor's future and the future of the universe, the historical characters and references, the fun dancing scene, Ryan being tragically bad at playing the piano... it all gets a big thumbs up from me!
9.5/10

Outlander - ‘If Not For Hope’ Review
By Laure Mack
Tumblr media
"We've lived with the fear of the unknown before, not knowing if the other is alive or dead."
Well, this was something. Not a spare moment with something happening in every corner of the board but it still somehow felt like mostly filler?
That opening was pretty effectively jarring. We haven't seen a modern setting in quite a long time. The first time through, I didn't immediately realize they were trying to trick us into thinking Roger had gone back. I was too taken aback by what I was seeing to see the implication. Poor Roger. We didn't see a lot with him or how he came to be recaptured so we're still left wondering if it was his decision to stay. Not seeing it makes me think that the reveal is being saved for something juicy and dramatic.
Can we be honest for a second? Am I the only one struggling to care about Roger and Bree as a couple? I think we are supposed to take their connection as a fact, but we didn't have enough of the build up of that connection. We've mostly just watched them argue and take turns abandoning each other and that simply did nothing to invest me in their journey to find each other. There were times that Claire and Jamie were separated that my heart would just break for the loneliness the characters were feeling. I get none of that here. I'd go so far as to suggest they date other people... if they, you know, asked my opinion.
Then we find Bree at River Run and she's had a busy (few?) months. She's very pregnant and sassy and into her art, bro. And very very busy pushing against the norms and racists and snobs. I kept waiting for some fallout. I was worried a few times that Bree was going to land Phaedra in some very hot water and I'm happy that I was wrong. I hope I stay wrong. Brianna wasn't too busy though, thank the stars, to make friends with Lord John. I'm sure I've mentioned before that I just never loved this character but I did really enjoy what looks like the beginning of a strong friendship. There was an ease between the two of them that felt very natural and lovely. I hated that Bree went for the threat of outing his sexuality though. Not cool, not what friendship is made of. Or a marriage for that matter, I guess.
Watching Jocasta work that Mackenzie magic to set Bree up on her own version of The Dating Game was somehow really heartwarming. I never thought I'd miss the days of Colum and Dougal scheming to use those around them to their own ends but Jocasta fills those fiery and smart and cunning shoes well. I chuckled when she was beaming with pride at Brianna for securing the proposal from John.
Back in Wilmington, Fergus, Murtagh and Marsali are all vying for best supporting character status. I just love Fergus so very much. Always loyal, he of course welcomes Murtagh into his home and helps him to fulfill Jamie's request to find Bonnet. Even with a family to think of and trouble finding work, he's able to be there for the people that he cares about without question. What a standup guy. And I've been waiting to see him and Murtagh together onscreen for weeks now and I wasn't disappointed. Their companionship and camaraderie jump right off the screen as people that know and trust each other. I wonder if I'll get lucky enough to see the two of them in a room with Jamie and Claire before the season is over?
I guess I shouldn't press my luck with Murtagh in the slammer now, though. I might be in complete denial but they wouldn't dare kill him off or write him out again, right? Right?? RIGHT??!!?! Especially not with Jamie gone.
Marsali is so cool. I loved her waking Murtagh up and chastising him for putting dirty boots on her cleans blankets. For pushing him to make her husband feel useful and whole and I loved loved loved the look on her face hearing Fergus decline to leave her and Germain behind. She is the greatest.
As much as I liked anything else, though, none of it compared to Jamie and Claire finally talking, hashing things out and getting back on the same page. Or on the same sleeping bag as it were. This relationship is still the glue that holds Outlander together for me. It's still the glue that draws me back every week. And I hate when they get pushed to the periphery for story lines heavy with relationships that I just don't care about as much. Claire has been sacrificed the most here. At least Jamie's blossoming relationship with Brianna had earned him some screen time. Sam Heughan spends so much time as Jamie breaking our hearts. This week he hit a new stride with it, though. It wasn't heavy handed or overly done, but he wore his pain so visibly and it was affecting. He pretty much seems to have given up on being able to be a father to his daughter. His daughter with Claire. The baby he sacrificed twenty years with his soulmate for. He has no hope of earning back a place in her life and if mourning that loss was difficult for Heughan to play, he didn't show it for a second. His pain felt palpable and tangible, and what's more – believable, throughout the hour. I think realizing that Claire didn't hate him did something to ease his pain but nothing to heal the actual loss he feels like he has suffered.
Give me more Jamie and Claire or give me death. Just kidding. I don't want death. Unless it's Bonnet's.
2.9 out of 4 spirit tunnels
It feels like it should be less, but there wasn't anything terribly wrong with the episode. Am I crazy or was it a little dull?
Bits and pieces
This review was hard to write. Like squeezing water from a rock. Or whatever that analogy is.
It was fun seeing Ian squirm trying to play Dr. Phil for his aunt and uncle. He really didn't like seeing them ununited. So say us all, Ian. FYI, I know ununited isn't a word, but divided feels wrong.
How much time has passed? Sometimes Bree looked very obviously pregnant and sometimes not even a hint of it.
Not that it matters in any way but did Jocasta just tell us that Jamie and Jenny's brother Willie wasn't a Fraser by blood? I guess Ellen could've been knocked up by Brian.
How is Stephen Bonnet, a man wanted for murder, running around Wilmington without a care in the world while Murtagh is recognized and arrested on his first boys' night out?
Why did John change his mind and agree to marry Bree? More deference to Jamie?
This is me not mentioning how hideously distracting Claire's wig in particular was in the tent at the end.
Did you watch the preview for next week? I don't usually comment on previews but I have to say it seemed bizarre and disjointed. I watched it three times thinking that I must be missing something. Maybe I should try again when I'm not so exhausted.
Lizzie: "God in heaven, what have I brought you to? A monstrous darkness, you're possessed." Bree: "Lizzie, I'm not possessed. I'm hurt and angry." Lizzie: "It's all my fault." Bree: "No, you made an honest mistake."
Jocasta: "You canna live on hope."
Fergus: "In Milord's eyes, I'm whole but to them, here, I'm less than a man."
Marsali: "It is burden enough harboring a wanted man under our roof." Fergus: "He would do the same for me."
Marsali: "If I wanted him shot, I'd do it myself. Besides its be unfair to shoot him first as he didn't put his boots on my clean blankets."
Marsali: "I'll have a whole man or none at all."
Lord John: "Your father would never divulge to me anything that you did not wish me to know. He's an honorable man." Brianna: "Don't talk to me about my father."
Claire: "Sometimes it's hard to separate fact from fiction." Jamie: "When you dinna have two sides of the story, aye, it is." Oooooh, burn!
Claire: "I'm sorry I didn't tell you it was Stephen Bonnet when I knew. Had I, it might have saved Roger. I never thought I would keep a secret like that from you." Jamie: "Until Brianna." Claire: "When I made you that promise there was no one else in my life that would come before you. But I don't know if I can keep that promise anymore." Jamie: "I understand, but I cannot be a father to her." Claire: "Of course, you can. She's just hurt right now." Jamie: "She doesna need me. I never thought I'd be jealous of a dead man." Claire: "Of Frank?" Jamie: "You heard what Bree said. Frank would have never said those things to her or made the mistakes that I have." Claire: "Frank made plenty of mistakes. All parents do." Jamie: "Bree thinks he's a better man. I thought perhaps you were beginning to feel the same, Sassenach." Claire: "You fool. Come here. She didn't mean it. She doesn't want you to go to hell."
I honestly could have quoted everything they said in the tent. It was so very good and so classic Jamie and Claire straightforward(ness).

major MAJOR SPOILERS for wonde rwoman ahead like proceed at ur own risk i basically just liveblogged the movie from memory SPOILERS
okay like i did not expect my first thought of this movie to be ‘wow i love bruce wayne’ and yet...
the thoughtful bat bastard
also i had no idea robin wright was in this movie and after 2 days of seeing house of cards gifsets of claire underwood being shady af it was jarring.
tho also like... THANK YOU for having a good age range on the amazonians??? like, normally a movie involving an paradise like island only populated by women will have nobody over the age of what, 23?? they didn’t even photoshop out any signs of age!!!! Age diversity isn’t something we talk about a lot, but it’s important too.
oh and i don’t know /much/ about armour but it came across to me as functional, true to the comics but not sexualised either so A+
smug diana’s face when she was told she wouldn’t wield the god killer lol
also, i liked the way they filmed the fight sequences? It was clear what was going on, but where it included the slowmo and almost snapshots of the scene it had a real comic book feel to it.
kinda confused as to where the big boats went tbh but?? okay. I like Steve.
also his entire reaction to the whole laso thing was priceless poor dude
also i know this wasn’t a direct inversion or anything, but /thank you/ for none of this ‘born sexy yesterday’ nonesense!!!! Steve! is the one undressed in front of her (and she doesn’t give a fuck, and that, unlike the women, was sexualised) b/c she’s... Not naive! She’s naive about humanity in general and those with bad intentions, but they didn’t fall into the sexually naive trope trap. Sure, she’d never seen a dude before, much less a naked one, but like... she’s read all 12 volumes on pleasure and while men are required for reproduction... they’re not necessary for the pleasure part.
side bar: i’m feeling very gay today and thanks for the implication there.
i also appreciated the nods to the traditional hero story in this, because this movie follows the formula of all the others, but it is inherently feminine instead. But Diana is just as equal as the men, and she has the journey, too.
small note, when they ride to the boats to go to London i sniggered so loud at Steve getting the white horse. She got the black horse, he got the white horse. No damsel in distress on a  beautiful white stallion here.
‘it’s just rude to /assume/ i can sleep with you!’ ‘you want me to sleep with you??? ok i will’ gfhrthtrgteger that was such a nice sequence again, actively /because/ she was not naive!!! she was just not knowledgeable of western societal expectations!!! 2 different things.
diana’s reaction to seeing the baby!!!! such a cute tiny moment
also looollll at the fashion scene like, i feel u, u can’t fight in those skirts
also, when she met Etta i was struck that we’d had a whole first part of the movie with only ladies!!! b/c like, normally that’d be all you’d get, just diana and etta barely talking but no!!! they related to each other and got on and were not the only women!
also, the perspective of the movie from a female standpoint, i was far less bothered by the portrayals of the sexism. Sometimes, when you’re watching a dude centric thing, and it’s set in the 40′s or 50′s and it’s super sexist, it can feel like the focus is more on getting to portray a woman’s hurt at being subjected to sexism is the point, rather than showing how fucked up it is, like, you can practically feel them enjoying the power trip, but being in Diana’s shoes, this movie being female directed, made it about her fury and shock at being excluded. Perspective matters, apparently.
her yelling at the generals in respect of claire underwood i love her (idr her character name sorry)
and fhgfiigjfjgfj her immediate reaction to her comrades l o l ‘at least he can punch’ ‘no not him’
'his people’ possibly the best line in the movie, i will reblog the posts about it when they get here
diana’s utter heartbreak the whole way through at it not being simple, that she can’t stop and save and help everyone, her in the trenches was rough.
and then she decides that actually, nah, i am gonna save people. at least these ones.
the SHOT THE SHOT /the/ superhero shot. Her taking her hair down, her turning and being full gear, her climbing up into no man’s land, just... this was a major cry part
aaaand the sniper! Look, Steve looking at the situation, nobody judging mr scotsman for not being able to take the shot, and Steve thinking back to how he saw diana and her people fight, and engineering a situation that he knows she will do well in!! he A) paid close attention to the first fight and B) is without ego catering the situation to aid her to finish the job
i too would stand and applaud and shake her hand lol
tho i /did/ find it weird they were shaking her hand, i thought the double cheek kiss thing would have been more like, accurate.
side note: i kicked myself, literally, in the cinema for shipping steve and diana so much because i knew how it had to end and yet, there i was, shipping the fuck outta them. That was /before/ he went back into the room with her, when i thought ‘hey maaaaybe they’ll be nice’ but NOPE then that happened and i was ‘they’re doomed.’.
definitely not /necessary/ but like... occasionally they can be useful.
also her slowly learning more about her companions as people and finding their value and heart was??? they were traumatised and messes and she found the heart and i love her so much
anyways the scenes in the gala hurt me, tho like, her DRESS, even aside from it being beautiful, it was not sexualised but still made her the person who stood out the most in the whole room, somebody tell male movie makers that colour can achieve what excess cleavage does 5x easier and more effectively than the latter.
she’s just... she’s really naive about humanity in general, and the narrative doesn’t demonise her for it and she learns and it obviously hurts steve b/c he wants it to be true. he so clearly longs for her way of thinking, but he knows it’s not true, and he knows she’s going to find out and that was a warning to the audience but it still hurt.
the village :(
i think i’m gonna be perpetually hurt by her reaction when she realised her killing the dude did nothing. Always gonna sting.
and THE WATCH, the watch ‘he lets order him around’ just a watch. He gives her the watch, of everything, the watch. And she goes on to do what he does, what he believes, she goes on to love like he does, she  does what the watch tells her, kinda. that one kicked me in the feelings. the fucking pocket watch gdi.
me, the whole way through the movie: don’t kill Chief don’t kill Chief and thank youfor not being awful for once
‘i can save these people but you can save the world, it has to be me’ i’m sobbing friends she can save the fucking world
(side note: steve was treated well and respected for his role in this move but when u swap it, where the man is the hero and the woman is the backup, women rarely get that courtesy, and every man complaining about steve being a sidekick love interest can be /told/ we rarely ever get the amount of respect story wise he was shown.)
she a fucking demi-god babes and she is totally okay with Fratricide so watch the fuck out ~my girl
btw the photo killed me the whole way through just fyi
and i /had/ forgotten till she touched his face on the billboard.
and then my love for bruce way back when at the beginning of the movie hit even higher b/c i now understood exactly HOW much that photo meant to her, and that idiot melodramatic bat dude spent the time tracking down the original photo just to send it to her.
no other motivation, it was, as she said, a choice to be loving. This movie has made me emotional about Bruce and Clark in BVS lol.
i’m just really choked up about this one i gotta cry a little more nvm

Your Complete Guide to Binge Watching 'Marvel's Iron Fist'
The Defenders roster is officially complete. With the premiere of Marvel's Iron Fist -- all 13 episodes are streamable on Netflix at midnight -- the final spot in this assemblage of small screen Avengers has been filled by Danny Rand. Before you binge, here is a comprehensive guide of everything you need to know about Danny and his glowing fist of kung fu glory.
"The show is very gritty and very dark in certain aspects," Finn Jones explains to ET. "We tackle serious issues, like the heroin problem in New York and corporate cataclysm and corruption behind the scenes. There's definitely dark elements, but I think how Danny is different from the other superheroes is Danny has this naivety to him, which actually gets him in a lot of trouble."
EXCLUSIVE: How Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick 'Faked' Their Way to 'Marvel's Iron Fist'
Who is Danny Rand? He's a comic book character who has been kicking around -- literally -- since the '70s, first appearing in Roy Thomas and Gil Kane's Marvel Premiere #15. Perhaps the least well known of The Defenders, Danny is essentially Batman -- a tragically orphaned child of a billionaire-turned-masked vigilante -- meets Bruce Lee. Game of Thrones star Finn Jones plays him here, part man-child, part Buddha-spouting hippie, with a sprinkle of trust fund bro-iness for good measure.
Who is Iron Fist? Or maybe it's, what is Iron Fist? Both work. Iron Fist is ostensibly both a title and ability. As Danny himself explains on the show, Iron Fist is a "living weapon" and "sworn enemy of The Hand." It's also a power manifested by focusing your chi into your fist so you can punch things real hard. In comic lore, Danny must defeat Shou-Lao the Undying -- who, FYI, is a dragon -- to attain the power of the Iron Fist.
Why is this one so damn controversial? Isn't it just a superhero show? See, Danny may be white in the comics, but many have argued that is the byproduct of the bygone era when his story was created, when people weren't as woke about cultural appropriation. Ahead of Jones' casting, there were petitions for Marvel to cast an Asian-American actor in the part -- it's hard to make another "white savior" narrative if you don't cast a white savior!
For his part, Jones has done a...not great job of making his case against the backlash, and Iron Fist the series doesn't lean either way on the subject, neither creating a truly fantastical K'un-Lun (the mythical and Asiatic realm where Danny was raised) that shakes some of its Orientalist clichés nor acknowledging, hey, yeah, Danny's a white boy and a lot of the time it sounds like he's reading a fortune cookie.
EXCLUSIVE: Marvel's Head of TV Reveals How 'The Defenders' Will Be Different From 'The Avengers'
So, what's the basic story here? Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny returns to NYC the rightful heir to Rand Enterprises, the monolithic family business. There, he reunites with childhood friend Joy Meachum (Jessica Stroup) and his frenemy-or-maybe-straight up enemy, Ward Meachum (Tom Pelphrey), as well as the Meachum's dead-but not dead father, Harold (David Wenham). It's no spoiler to say Danny does not receive a warm welcome.
"It's a bit of a surprise for all of these characters, considering the fact that they thought this guy was dead 15 years ago," Wenham explains. "It obviously rocks there world, because he could be a potential threat, he could be potentially useful for them, considering here's a kid who is probably a rightful heir to half this billion-dollar corporation."
Do I need to remember anyone from the other shows? Of course you need to remember characters from the other shows. Remember, ~it's all connected.~
1. Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), who was last seen in the Luke Cage finale checking out a flyer for self-defense classes. As eagle-eyed Easter egg-loving fans noted at the time, that dojo is owned by Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick), effectively providing an entry point into Iron Fist for Claire, the sort of Nick Fury of the NetflixMCU.
2. Jerri "J-Money" Hogarth, whose gender-bent comic book counterpart actually started as an Iron Fist supporting player. She's back--now with a fun nickname!--having been a Rand intern long before the events of Jessica Jones.
3. Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho), the mysterious heroin dealer from Daredevil season one, and The Hand, that mysterious pack of ninjas from Daredevil season two, also play crucial roles. Brush up on them, especially since Finn teased that the latter, at least, will continue on into The Defenders.
"Danny kind of understands the bigger threat, because he's been dealing it all throughout his life and all throughout season one of Iron Fist," Jones teases of the upcoming series. "So, when he meets The Defenders, he is the one who really drives the group to understand the bigger picture."
I thought Iron Fist had something to do with Luke Cage? Why isn't he on this show? You're not wrong. While Danny and Luke have both had their own solo comic book runs, arguably their most popular was when they joined forces in Power Man and Iron Fist and opened Heroes for Hire. I, for one, am not opposed to Netflix forgoing the typical season two and instead doing 13 episodes of Luke Cage & Iron Fist: Heroes for Hire. Back to your question: Mike Colter, who plays Luke, already performed his crossover duties in Jessica Jones. He can't appear in all the shows! That's what we have Rosario Dawson for.
EXCLUSIVE: How 'Game of Thrones' Star Finn Jones' Last Day on Set Led Him to 'Iron Fist'
OK, be honest, is it as bad as everyone is saying? It's hard to watch anything objectively amid an onslaught of takedowns and hot takes and think pieces, but is Iron Fist the worst thing that's ever been broadcast on television* (*a streaming service) and an indefensible stain on Marvel's good name? Nah. The first and second episodes are a bit of a chore to get through, I'll admit, but considering the six episodes made available, the show begins to hit its stride--or a stride--around episode four, and five really starts to get into the Iron Fist of it all. Which isn't discounting some of the criticism--it's valid!--but after six episodes, I was willing to tune into the seventh. All in, it's just a bit of a disappointment, when you think of what it could have been. I mean, give us K'un-Lun! Give us spandex supersuits! Give us that mother effing dragon!
More importantly, how's the kung fu? That might be the most disappointing part of it all, actually. You get plenty of fight sequences -- within the first few minutes of the show, even -- but they are generally...underwhelming, something not often said about KUNG FU. The fight scenes are made to appear effortless -- Danny's the best martial artist evahhh -- but which has the inadvertent side effect of making them appear lackadaisical.
A perfect example of how Iron Fist wastes its own potential is a fight sequence at the end of episode two, which -- without giving away too much -- finds Danny in a straightjacket. It's the set-up for something unique and perhaps unlike any fight scene on any show before. (Or, at least, no Marvel-Netflix show.) Instead, it's more of the same, highly choreographed, punchy-punchy mush. And it could be so cool! Pulpy and stylized and exciting! That kung fu movie aesthetic might not gel with the grounded, gritty, street level superhero world established thus far, but it'd certainly be more interesting to watch. Ultimately, Iron Fist tries too hard to be the Kung Fu Daredevil, instead of the best Iron Fist it could be.
Anyway, what's the spinoff I'm going to want after watching this? While Heroes for Hire is certainly enticing, I'd trade that and the Punisher spinoff for Daughters of the Dragon, the team comprised of Colleen Wing, badass sensei and sometimes sidekick to Danny, and Luke Cage's Detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick). They're set to cross paths in The Defenders, maybe just go from there?
