jimin held tightly onto the bathroom vanity as he looked at himself in the mirror. blood leaked from his bruised lip, his hair was disheveled, and his eyes were red. he began wondering how he came to this. but he didn't allow himself to wonder too much. because he knew the answer. and he knew it was all his fault. 

 "jimin! there you are!" exclaimed doyum, with a sigh of relief. he ran over to his friend and put a hand on his shoulder. "you alright?"

 "i'm fine," he growled as his lips quivered and shivers racked throughout his body. he fell to the floor, feeling weak.

 "whoah, hey!" doyum caught him, and tried to support his weight a little bit. "you're not fine. did that bastard really hurt you that bad?" he asked, referring to the guy who jimin had just gotten into a dumb fight with. 

 jimin didn't answer, but looked up at his friend, sadness evident in his teary eyes. "i can't," he sobbed. 

 "can't what? jimin talk to me," doyum begged.

 "i can't live without her," he choked out. 

doyum's eyes softened, and his heart broke a bit for his friend. 

 "i need her. i need her so much. i love her."

 .....

jimin groaned as he held his head in his hands. he was obviously drunk, and y/n rolled her eyes. 

"chuji, you need to stop doing this to yourself," she sighed, pressing a hand to her husband's head. she frowned when he removed her hand.

"stop doing what?" he chuckled, but she knew he wasn't happy.

"this," she gestured to his form. "getting horribly wasted," she explained.

"well, i wanted to. so i did," he replied, slurring his words a bit. he was about to take another sip of his drink when y/n grabbed it from his hand.

"enough," she scolded.

"give it back," he growled. 

"no chuji! drinking isn't going to solve any of your problems. you're stressed, i get it. so take a break! i'm here to help you," she explained.

"take a break?! i am at the peak of my career! don't tell me to take a break," he scoffed.

"is that all you care about now? your dumb modeling career? what about your friends? what about your responsibilities outside of work? what about me?" she rambled, feeling very deeply hurt.

"come talk to me when you're my first priority," he snapped.

her jaw dropped in unbelief. she should've just realized he was drunk and let it go, but her emotions clouded her judgement. "well if that's how you feel..." she began. "you can have this back, chu jimin!" she yelled, taking her wedding ring off and throwing it at him. 

before jimin had any time to respond, she was gone. out the door. 

reality didn't hit him until the next morning, when he awoke with nobody by his side. he got up and searched his entire house, only to remember the night before. and guilt consumed him like a wildfire. he held his mouth with his hand as tears threatened to spill. he leaned his head back against his door and thought about the whole thing. he really messed up this time. without thinking, he grabbed his phone.

jimin : i messed up, please come back

jimin : i love you

jimin : y/n please i love you so much...

but by the time he had realized his mistake, it was too late. she left.

”fuck,” he cried, sinking to the floor, before he began to sob. his love was gone. and it was all his fault.

“you got a lot of explaining to do if you decide to go looking for her, you know that right?” doyum sighed. 

“i know,” jimin sniffed. “but i can’t let her go.”

”then go get her,” doyum, encouraged. he lightly patted his friend’s shoulder before leaving.

and go get her, jimin did.

….. 

y/n sighed as she wiped a tear that had fallen onto her sketchbook. it ruined her dress design, frustrating her even further. “aish, this day!” she exclaimed, throwing her sketchbook towards the trash can, and letting her head fall onto the table. she cried silently as she hugged herself.

”y/n, i think you need to see him,” suggested her friend jisoo. “you’re absolutely miserable.”

”don’t you get it? he’s the reason i’m miserable. i am not going back,” y/n argued, not daring to look up at her friend. 

“no, you’re the reason you’re miserable. you know you didn’t want to leave him, and you miss him. just admit it,” jisoo reasoned.

”why do you always have to be right?” y/n groaned. she knew jisoo was making so much sense, but she didn’t want to listen. she was always a stubborn person. "even if, he's probably glad i'm gone. now he can focus on his stupid career," she tried to sound tough, but she was broken inside.

 "you don't really believe that do you?" jisoo quirked an eyebrow.

 "i don't know what to believe."

jimin knew y/n went to her best friend jisoo's house whenever the two were arguing, so that was where to stood now, at the late hour of one in the morning. he was too restless to wait for a decent hour. 

jisoo got up from her couch and went to open the door after hearing a knock. initially, there was a smile on her face. but it faded when she saw him. "what do you want?" she inquired, obviously annoyed.

 "sorry, i know it's late. is y/n here?" he asked, peaking inside. he was about to step inside when jisoo blocked him. 

 "yes," she replied. "but i will not let you through unless you're here to apologize."

 "that's exactly what i'm here for," he sighed in relief.

 jisoo sighed before stepping aside, letting him in. "she's upstairs in my bedroom," she informed. before he left her sight, she caught his attention again. "she's been crying for days you know," she began. "you really hurt her."

 "i know," jimin shut his eyes tightly.

 "but she loves you more than anything in the world. please make her smile again, jimin. it's brighter than a thousand suns," jisoo smiled.

 "i will," jimin nodded, before heading up the stairs, beginning to feel overwhelmed by emotions.

when he opened the door, he saw her. the moonlight lit up her features as she sat on the window sill, looking up into the night sky. a gentle breeze blew through her soft hair. she seemed aware of his presence, yet she remained silent. she had nothing to say anyway. 

jimin slowly approached her, until he was standing about four feet away from her. he thought over in his head what he wanted to say before sighing deeply. "y/n..." he began. y/n already felt tears pricking at her eyes. "i'm sorry," he admitted, head hanging low. "i really hurt you with my words, and i didn't think it would hurt me this much seeing you like this. but i was wrong. i wasn't in my right mind, and i have no excuse. i'm the one who caused all of this damage," he stepped a little closer. "i didn't mean any of what i said. because you've always been my first priority since the day i called you mine. and i should've listened to you when you told me to take a break. you were right. fuck, you're always right," he laughed, but there was much pain in his expression. "i don't expect you to forgive me right now, but just know i wouldn't trade you for the world. you're the most important thing in my life, and i can't let you go. i love you."

 just those three words were enough for y/n to forgive him, if she was being honest with herself. but his wholehearted, honest apology, just healed her heart, but by bit. "i love you too. i forgive you," she smiled, meeting his eyes for the first time in weeks. his soft brown eyes gazed into hers, bringing her a strange sensation of comfort, love, and belonging. jimin was her home. and she was a fool to ever think she could live without him. 

y/n stood from her seat on the window sill and quickly ran into his embrace. he caught her and held her tightly, as they both let their tears fall. the both of them would die over and over again, just to feel this loved.
