grian saying "it's the ultimate betrayal" while killing scar — who we'll recall he wasn't truly teamed up with at any point in this series, just the three series' prior — and martyn, despite being scott's day one teammate in this series, deciding to pull the actual ultimate betrayal in the finale.

something about how martyn himself describes the watchers, how they supposedly feast upon the emotions of the players between games, so that they come into the next series with a "blank slate." but that's not quite true, is it? grian knew where his loyalty was supposed to lie. and martyn did, too.

i think the watchers don't always finish their meals.
