my OCs
Sorry this took so long guys! It was long to type out and I also have a good excuse: I was at basketball and cut my big-toe-nail in half horizontally so had to clean and bandage and what not.
My puppy says hi, btw! (She sat on my lap as I typed this. She was for once not hyper and when she's like that I cuddle her as close as possible.)
@skellymom you asked to be tagged when I posted this so here you go! :D
I rlly hope y'all like this: I've had these guys for a while but never typed up all this stuff.
ALSO IF SOMEONE WANTS TO DRAW THESE GUYS (IDK WHY YOU WOULD CAUSE IM LIKE, IDK, I JUST DONT THINK PEOPLE CARE ABOUT ME AND MY STUFF) THEN GO AHEAD I WOULD LITERALLY CRY OF APPRECIATION
Enjoy!
Request things please!!!
STUFF BELOW THE CUT ITS JUST SUPER LONG!!!!!
OCs included:
Dhole
Vector
Menace
Dice
Bloodshot
Xi
Mit
Vick
Meerrt
Dhole (CT-8019)
Dhole is a member of the Coruscant Guard and has curly black hair with the ends dyed the same red as the red armour. His helmet is designed with striking resemblance to both Wolffe and Fox’s.
He has the trademark tan skin as the rest of the clones as well as dark brown eyes and two obvious scars; one on his chest and the other covering his entire left arm.
Dhole is a literal ray of sunshine and when he was a cadet, he constantly followed Wolffe and Fox around - which gave him his name. My idea is that Dholes do exist in Star Wars but they are rare and only live on one planet. Dholes look like a combination of a fox and wolf.
Everyone in the Coruscant Guard is super protective of Dhole because he’s so sweet and literally cheers up everyone. The 104th thought Wolffe was like the scariest person ever and wasn’t soft to anyone until one day they got back from a mission and their Commander was barrelled over by an energetic ray of sunshine and the entire 104th gasped when Wolffe smiled. Their reaction was priceless.
Dhole makes friends with basically everyone, even Senators he’s in charge of watching over. One time, he befriended and saved Bail Organa who then told Fox if Fox didn’t promote Dhole, Bail would join the Separatists. Fox gladly gave Dhole the rank of ARC Trooper.
Dhole befriended Ahsoka once and when he heard about how Tarkin was being sexist and racist he grabbed his pistols to go kill him without a moments hesitation. It took Fox, Thorn and Vector holding him back to stop him.
He did the same thing when he heard Palpatine denying Fox time off work, but overall loves his job. Dhole is very sweet, but also protective in a strange way. He won’t hesitate to hurt/kill someone if they’ve hurt his friends or brothers and most likely will get away with whatever he’s done.
He’s the sunshine of the Coruscant Guard and you hurt him, you die.
Vector (CT-8124)
Vector is a member of the Coruscant Guard and best buds with Dhole. They are quite similar as they are both kind and sweet except Vector is a lot shier. Vector got his name from a little boy he saved as a shiny. The boy asked what his name was and Vector had to explain he didn’t have a name. The boy almost cried before telling Vector that they could share a name - and dubbed him Vector as that was also the boy’s name.
He is the definition of ‘the poet’ from ‘soldier, poet, king’ by the oh hellos. His smart and quiet, but when he speaks up, everyone listens. No one but Dhole really knows his opinion on his work - but he really isn’t bothered by it. The only thing Vector hates doing is paperwork because whilst he’s the best out of the Guard in getting it done fast and well, he finds it boring and time-consuming.
Vector has the same tan skin as the rest of the clones and honey gold eyes. He has brown hair that's dyed blonde on the ends. He has a scar that goes from his right eye, over his nose and then down to the base of his neck. He got the scar from a piece of shrapnel during the First Battle of Geonosis - as all clones (apart from those still on Kamino) participated in the battle.
Everyone in the Guard loves Vector - although in a different way to the way they adore Dhole - and it’s well-known that wherever Dhole is, Vector will be hiding behind him quietly in the shadows.
Vector’s helmet is the same as the regular Corrie helmet except he has a little sun emblem on the forehead - whether it's a nod to Dhole’s sunny nature or not, no one really knows.
Because Vector is so quiet and introverted, he mostly just hangs around with Dhole - and their inseparable - but he also loves Cody, as his Ori’vod respects his silence and is the only other person to figure out a type of communication Vector is okay with.
Menace (CT-7874)
Menace is like Hardcase combined with Fives as a Coruscant Guard member. He’s caff addicted because he loves the energy hit and would probs do drugs if Fox didn’t yell at him so much every time he thought out-loud what it would be like to take them. He’s done deathsticks several times but isn’t addicted cause he’s smart in how he takes them.
Menace got his name because that's what he is - a menace. He’s moody and smart, daring and proud but overall he causes enough chaos that he should be a 501st trooper. He’s best friends with Dice and Bloodshot, and is the bad influence of everyone. He’s got the classic look of a clone trooper except dark brown hair instead of black hair. Menace has a scar covering his left eyebrow from being attacked by an assassin who was trying to kill a senator. Although Menace is chaotic and stupid and fun, he’s devoted to his work and does work very well. He’s kind of like the Jake Peralta (Brooklyn Nine Nine) of the Coruscant Guard. Menace is the ‘soldier’ again from ‘soldier, poet, king’ by the oh hellos. He’s strong and dedicated, and too determined to be knocked down.
Him, Hardcase and Fives get along like a house on fire and have collectively taken days of sleep from Rex and Fox. His helmet is the classic Corrie helmet although the top left side is completely painted black with licking ginger flames around it - to symbolise Menace’s first helmet which got destroyed in a bombing.
Dice (CT-6346)
Dice has short black hair, tan skin and brown eyes - like the classic clone look. He’s never bothered to change his hair or anything. He has a burn scar that covers his right eye and eyebrow, and a torso scar from his left ankle all the way up his leg and back that ends at his collarbone. Dice is also a member of the Coruscant Guard. He’s the definition of the moon personality - very private about his anxieties and such.
Captain Rex met Dice when he was a shiny and gave him his name upon witnessing the clone bargain his way out of a situation. Dice is a legend and board/card games and is incredibly smart. When dealing with a particularly hard case, Fox always turns to Dice for help. He’s smart, thoughtful and calculating, but he’s a really nice person too. He’s not introverted or extroverted and is just happy to help. Dice loves his work because he loves the challenges different cases provide and finds them interesting to explore.
Dice has the classic Corrie clone trooper helmet except a red dice simple in the middle of the forehead.
Whilst Dice is best friends with Menace and Bloodshot, he’s really close with Rex because he’s the one who gave him his name. Dice can be a little chaotic but he’s usually pretty chill - but always chill with Rex. They get along so well because Rex seems him as a combination of Fives and Echo - smart, funny, kind and everything else.
Bloodshot (CT-3496)
Bloodshot is the ‘king’ of ‘soldier, poet, king’ by the oh hellos, and he’s the most serious of the group. He and Fox get along like a house on fire because their both so tired of the Guard’s antics. He’s a sweet and kind guy and quiet but not in a shy way. Quiet in a menacing way.
Bloodshot has short light brown hair, tan skin and brown eyes, and he’s extremely fit. He has a going from his stomach up his chest, over his neck that hooks around his right ear. He got the scar when he was attacked by an assassin - crazy similar to Menace. He’s dedicated to his work because its his work and no one really knows his other thoughts on the topic.
Bloodshot’s helmet is a regular Corrie helmet with splotches of red over the eyes and a red ‘blood-drop’ on the forehead.
Bloodshot got his name because he drinks a lot of caff - religiously, like man must drink caff - and that causes his eyes to go bloodshot quite a lot. He’s humble about how talented he is as a fighter and extremely quick-witted. When Bloodshot yells ‘Shut up!’ everyone freezes. He’s not the eagerest to do things, but isn’t lazy in the slightest.
If someone is upset you can count on Bloodshot and Dhole going to hunt down and kill whoever hurt their Vod.
No one really understands why Menace, Dice and Bloodshot are so close but they click in a way that you can tell means their platonic soulmates and the truest of brothers.
Bloodshot managed to gain Plo Koon’s love when he rescued a stray-runaway-Youngling and returned her to the Kel Dor. He’s the Ori’vod of the group and is the only possible (apart from Dhole) who can convince Fox to sleep, and takes his responsibility with pride. Although, he probably needs sleep just as much as the Commander.
Xi (CT-5113)
Xi is a member of the 501st and has wavy black hair that falls to just below his ears, brown eyes, tan skin and a small Republic symbol tattooed on his nose. He also has a scar from the tip of his middle finger on his right hand that travels up to his elbow that he got from a crash-landing.
Xi is sort of a combination between the soldier and king from (yet again) ‘soldier, poet, king’ by the oh hellos. He’s funny and kind yet courageous and loyal. Rex is extremely proud of Xi because he’s done many things that have rightfully earned him his ARC Trooper status. Although many people don’t believe it at first, Xi is a strangely good mechanic - and is often the one to fix things in time-ticking situations.
He’s best friends with Mit and is absolutely obsessed with music. Like, most listen to music.
Other than Rex and Mit, Xi gets on with Jesse and Fives amazingly as they share several similar personality traits. They once had a bit too much to drink and got lost on Coruscant but that's a story for another time.
Ahsoka and Xi also get along because Xi is always by her side - no matter what. He would be crushed if anything happened to her. Like his Padawan, Anakin and Xi are friends because of their loyalty, but also love for mechanics. It’s not rare to find them ranting about mechanics together.
Xi’s helmet is similar to Fives except he has painted a blue ‘scar’ over the right eye to match Anakin’s and the left half of the face has Ahsoka’s face markings except in blue. There are two ‘teardrops’ underneath the right eye - which Tup later copied.
Xi is slightly more extroverted then he is introverted but he hides his emotions a lot because he fears that he is being weak and that others have bigger problems than him so he shouldn’t complain. One time, he bottled his emotions up for so long he eventually shattered and Rex spent hours with him calming him down.
Mit (CT-5114)
Mit has a black buzzcut, tan skin and gold eyes with several small scars but none extremely big or noticeable. He’s a member of the 501st and was promoted to ARC Trooper at the same time as Xi for an amazing mission they completed all by themselves. His helmet is the ARC Trooper helmet - like Fives’ - but he has the visor outlined in blue - like Rex’s - and two matching teardrops to Xi’s under the right eye. He has a star personality as he is fun to be around and focuses on enjoying life. Mit’s funny, soft, gentle and brave and contrasts Xi in several ways. Mit is more of a rules-follower than Xi and gets along with Echo well because of it. He and Kix also get along for reasons they don’t really understand.
Mit’s a bit more introverted than extroverted, which contrasts well with Xi, who’s the opposite. Whilst Xi bottles up his emotions, Mit is a lot calmer than that, and very in control of his negative emotions. If he really needs to vent, he will go to Xi or Kix.
Mit really loves reading, and will basically read anything he can get his hands on. It’s not rare to find him dangling from his bed with a datapad scrolling through a book too deeply fixated to hear anything anyone else is saying.
Because he loves to read so much, Mit is the resident clone-translator, and together he and Obi-Wan have translated many things for the others. Sometimes, the two will have conversations in front of others in a different language just to annoy them, and that's where their friendship formed. Mit once saved a small Nautolan boy who only spoke Nautila and managed to get him home. Whilst Xi is good at mechanics, Mit is smart in languages and random knowledge, and the pair use those skills to help the 501st get out of a lot of difficult situations.
Vick (CT-2323)
Vick has neatly cut black hair, tan skin and brown eyes - the classic clone look, just like Dice. He has three triangular scars on his right arm and a scar covering his stomach that he earned when he was attacked by a beast during a mission. He’s a member of the 212th. Vick is the soul/heart as he is very upfront with his beliefs and heart-strong instead of head-strong. He’s sarcastic, brave and kind with everything he does and Cody adores him for it.
Vick’s helmet is the classic 212th clone trooper helmet with two yellow triangles - points facing down - on the cheeks. He’s best friends with Meerrt as they balance each other out extremely well.
Vick is close with Cody as they share the same stupid recklessness but love for the others of their troops and their General. Obi-Wan and Vick get along very well after Vick, Cody, Meerrt and Obi-Wan once got stranded together on a mission and they all discovered Vick’s strange talent in tea-brewing. Now, when they want tea, they hunt down Vick and beg him to make them the drink.
Vick hates drugs and deathsticks but likes to drink on the occasion, as it helps numb the constant reminder of the war. Cody and him sometimes barricade themselves in the barracks and drink till they can’t remember their names in sorrow, side by side for comfort.
When the 212th were on Ryloth, Vick befriended a Twi’lek boy who he constantly denies having a crush on - but most of the 212th don’t believe him. They manage to catch up occasionally and Vick always comes back grinning.
Vick absolutely adores learning about new and different cultures - not the food, as Meerrt has asked several times, no, he loves learning about their non-food-culture. Upon going to new planets, he sticks with Obi-Wan if they don’t speak the same language and asks for translations, which the General happily does.
Meerrt (CT-2361)
Meerrt looks the same as Vick although his hair is slightly longer and scruffier. There is a burn scar covering his left ear and as a result the hair around it was singed slightly so he buzzed it and also has weaker hearing in that ear.
When Vick, Obi-Wan, Cody and him were stranded and they discovered Vick’s tea-making skills, Meerrt got burned in the crash that led to his scar.
He has the classic 212th helmet with a yellow sun emblem on the forehead - similar to Vector’s - and yellow stars on the sides.
Meerrt loves astronomy deeply and endlessly, and spends hours researching it. He has a sun personality meaning he’s slightly more extroverted and bubbly, all smiles for days. He’s encouraging, sweet and funny and the kinda guy you go to for a hug.
Meerrt gets on with Cody because he can cuddle up to the Commander and not get reprimanded or teased for it. Sometimes a clone needs sleep and affection. He also gets along well with Waxer as they both met little kids they sheltered and protected for a bit.
Meerrt met a little Togrutan boy whilst on a mission - who later turned out to be Force-sensitive and was taken to the Temple - who he immediately bonded with. Meerrt had a breakdown when they were separated and stayed gloomy for weeks.
Meerrt doesn’t really like alcohol, deathsticks or anything of the sort but juice like its water. Whenever he can, Meerrt buys as much juice as possible to keep and savour.
Meerrt is a really heavy sleeper and - like most other clones - often has night terrors. He’s mostly silent during these - unlike Vick who screams and thrashes like he’s being attacked and makes everyone pity him - but often seeks comfort from either Vick or Cody afterwards and have a cup of hot chocolate.
Meerrt’s favourite planet they’ve been to is Naboo - where he first participated in the Blue Shadow Virus mission - and he’s visited several times. He once met Padme who showed him around her planet and they built a sweet friendship because of it.
*sighs* that was VERY long and I apologise to anyone who read all of that.
Thoughts on my ocs, please share?!
If anyone wants oneshots/headcanons with these guys (or not!) please please please pleasseeeee tell me!!!!!!

Redesigning Galaxy Squad (2/5): Sol! (he/him)
CT-02-8251, better known as Sol, Lieutenant in the 212th Attack Battalion. Despite being the only member of his squad to end up in the 212th, he was soon to make himself a place in it.
A literal sunshine in both name and personality, Sol was promoted to Lieutenant die to his natural leading abilities (same abilities that also made him the Squad Leader for Galaxy Squad.
His amber eyes were caused thanks to the same error that affected his whole batch. Unfortunately, they were separated from each other during early training, and therefore he's unable to recall their serial numbers. While he doesn't know of their current fates, Sol is positive that most of them could be still alive and doing well.
A great ground trooper, Sol dreams of becoming a Captain, or an ARC trooper just like his sibling, Luna.
Despite everything war has thrown at them, Sol has never seen his personality changed, and quite the opposite, has seen his upbeat mood a grounding stone for his platoon.

You were still a Padawan when the clone wars started, how did you become a general?
IT OCCURRED AFTER THE CAMPAIGN OF THE PLANET, MUUNILINST.
THE MUUNILIST CAMPAIGN WAS A CLUMSY AFFAIR. WE WERE INTRODUCED TO MANY OF OUR MAIN OPPONENTS DURING IT, AND THE DANTOOINE CAMPAIGN. GENERAL GRIEVOUS... ASAAJ VENTRESS...
( I RECEIVED MY SCAR DURING THOSE CAMPAIGNS, COURTESY OF VENTRESS. )
AND A FEW DANGEROUS ONES THAT WE DID NOT ENCOUNTER AGAIN. THE REGENERATING, INSANE MERCENARY "DURGE" FOR EXAMPLE. HE IS STILL OUT THERE. SOMEWHERE.
AS A PADAWAN UNDER GENERAL KENOBI, I WAS COMMANDER SKYWALKER OF THE 212TH, FALLING BESIDE AND JUST UNDER RANK, OF ONE MARSHAL COMMANDER CC-2224.
( MIND HE DID ALREADY HAVE HIS NAME--MOST OF CLONE COMMAND DID. BUT NOBODY WAS QUITE COMFORTABLE YET TO GIVE THEIRS OUT YET, LEAST THEY BE SENT BACK TO KAMINO WITH A BLACK MARK AND "RETRAINED" )
OFFICIALLY BELOW MY RANK, WAS THE CLONE TROOPER SECOND IN COMMAND. ONE CAPTAIN CT-7567. HE WAS MORE HARD-NOSED, HARD-HEADED, AND HARDLY SANE THAN OUR CC.
( HE SET UP QUITE THE EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW. HERE IS A MAN WHO KNOWS WHAT HE WANTS AND WHAT HE NEEDS, AND THE CONFIDENCE TO GET BOTH, AND IN HIS WAKE, GOT RESPECT, AND EVEN MORE SPECIAL, LOYALTY OF HEARTS AND MINDS. THERE WAS NOT A MAN IN THE 212TH WHO WOULD NOT HESITATE TO FALL BEHIND AND BACK UP CAPTAIN CT-7567 )
( I DARE NOT MIND TELLING, I FELT MYSELF RATHER INADEQUATE IN COMPARISON TO SUCH A MAN. )
( I ALSO DARE NOT MIND TELLING MY OTHER THOUGHTS. HERE IS A MAN, WHO WOULD DO WHAT IS NEEDED TO BE DONE, WITHOUT HESITATION. IF I LET MY WEAKNESS COME AND RAGE TAKE MY ACTIONS, THERE IS A DARK COMFORT IN KNOWING THAT I WOULD BE TAKEN OUT BY A SUCH A MAN BEFORE MORE DAMAGE WAS DONE. THE CLONE WARS DID START AT AN... AUSPICIOUS TIME IN MY LIFE AFTER ALL. )
BEFORE NEW POLICY CAME DOWN, THE CLONE RANK WAS DICTATED BY COLOR. LEGIONS DID NOT HAVE THEIR PERSONAL, IDENTIFYING COLORS YET, AS SUCH, THE RANK OF MARSHAL COMMANDER WAS ORANGE, ARC TROOPERS HAD BLUE, THE ARC-COMMANDERS WERE RED ( AS WERE SHOCKTROOPERS).
IT WAS AFTER THE CAMPAIGN OF MUUNILINST (AND AT LEAST ONE GALACTIC CHASING AFTER ASAAJ VENTRESS), THAT I WAS GRANTED KNIGHTHOOD.
THE 212TH LEGION SPLIT OFF INTO THE 501ST, MY LEGION.
AND NEW POLICY CAME DOWN. TO MAKE IDENTIFYING WHO WAS WHO EASIER...
( BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW EASY IT WAS TO ACCIDENTALLY KIDNAP TROOPERS FROM OTHER LEGIONS. OR JEDI FINDING THEMSELVES ON THE WRONG TRANSPORT. )
( IN FACT IT STILL HAPPENED... BUT THE BLAME WAS OFTEN SHIFTED TO "SHINIES BEING SHINY" RATHER THAN MISTAKEN IDENTITY. )
AND TO ALLOW MORE EXPRESSION IN THE RANKS, LEGIONS WOULD HAVE THEIR OWN COLORS, AND TROOPERS WOULD BE ALLOWED TO PAINT WHATEVER THEY LIKE ON THEIR ARMOR (PROVIDED IT WAS NOT OBSCENE).
( THEY WERE ALREADY DOING THAT ANYWAY IN SMALL AMOUNTS, BUT MAKING IT OFFICIAL MAKES IT PROTECTED. )
THUS THE 212TH GOT TO FLAUNT HOW THEY WERE ALL "COMMANDER RANK" NOW, AND THE LEGION OF LEGIONS... BUT THE 501ST GOT BRAGGING RIGHTS ABOUT HOW EVERYONE WHO SIGNED UP, WAS AN UNOFFICIAL ARC-TROOPER.
BUT BECAUSE OF THE CHAOTIC AND CONFUSING NATURE OF EARLY WAR AND SETTING UP A MILITARY AS WE WAGED THAT WAR.... CT-7567, OR AS HE HAD INTRODUCED HIMSELF, CAPTAIN REX, STILL REMAINED A CAPTAIN RATHER THAN BEING PROMOTED TO A COMMANDER.
OFFICIALLY, HE WAS STILL CODY'S SECOND IN COMMAND.
AND BY THAT TECHNICALITY, COMMANDER CODY STILL HAD THE COMMANDER SPOT OVER THE 501ST, INSPITE OF BEING THE 212TH'S "ONLY" COMMANDER.
BUT I DID SO LOVE TO REMIND KENOBI OF SUCH TECHNICALITY-- AFTER ALL, IT MEANT THAT CAPTAIN REX DID HAVE AUTHORITY TO TAKE THE 212TH IF HE WANTED IT. HE NEVER DID, BUT HE COULD.
IT WAS RECTIFIED, YEARS LATER, UPON THE CREATION OF THE 332ND COMPANY. CAPTAIN REX WAS OFFICIALLY PROMOTED TO COMMANDER, THE 501ST WAS NO LONGER CONSIDERED PARTY TO THE 212TH.
... IN FACT, AFTER THE WAR, THE 212TH WAS FOLDED INTO THE 501ST.
BUT YES. I WAS A PADAWAN, I BECAME A KNIGHT, AND THEN BECAME A GENERAL.
( ... WHICH IS STILL NOT A JOB I WOULD HAND TO ANY NINETEEN YEAR OLD, REGARDLESS OF SPACE MAGIC. )

Title: Experience
Warnings: None Apply
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 1025
Tags: pre-clone wars movie, Rex and company are sent to help reader, war, death, angst, drama, loyalty, clone protocol
Summary: Rex teaches you a lesson about experience and respect
You spot the battle droid from the corner of your eye. Even with the Force flowing through your veins, you cannot deflect the blaster bolt.
It hits the trooper next to you in the upper part of his chest.
He goes down without a sound.
His pain is a ripple in the Force.
You can do nothing to help ease it, though.
Not with that battle droid rapid firing at you and the clone in command of this small regiment.
His designation number is CT-7567.
If he has an actual name, you don’t know it.
There hadn’t been time for formal introductions. The captain and his men arrived as you found yourself surrounded by a horde of battle droids.
Death seemed imminent.
Something you accepted.
As all Jedi did.
“Sir, watch out!”
You turn to see one of the super battle droid’s advancing towards you, arms raised, intent clear.
You use the Force to throw the droid into the others coming your way.
“Tinnies advancing on the left!” CT-7567 shoots a droid in the head with one of the DC-17 blaster pistols he’s holding. “Deploy droid poppers!”
Immediately, a dozen balls flew into the air.
All arcing in one synchronized motion before dropping in front of the droids.
Streaks of blue strike the droids, frying their circuits, and powering them off for good.
Your reprieve is short-lived, however.
For every one droid that falls, twenty replace them.
“Captain!” you hear. “Clankers advancing on the right!”
“Get ready!” CT-7567 orders. “Give ‘em everything we got!”
“Sir, yes, sir!”
Soon as the droids are within range, they let loose a barrage of blaster fire. The pings as bolts slam into the thick metal covering the battle droids remind you of the steel drums you heard while on a mission with your former master.
They, too, sounded of death.
Droids fall but are quickly replaced by more.
They’re just bodies Separatists send out to die for their cause.
Programmable, dependable, expendable, and above all else, replaceable.
It’s not lost on you how the same thing is being done by the Republic.
Only, they’re sending out an army of cloned humans instead of droids.
Living, thinking, feeling, and killable sentient beings.
You find it utterly abhorrent.
War, your master once told you, is never a solution and is never justified.
“It doesn’t matter who wins to those dead,” he said. “They are the ones who have made the ultimate sacrifice.”
You’re determined to see as few dead as possible.
You’re a guardian of peace and not a soldier, after all.
Or you weren’t until now.
“Captain.” You stop to deflect blaster bolts with your lightsaber. “Have your men pull back to that outcropping of rocks. We can make a stand there while waiting for reinforcements to arrive!”
“Yes, Commander!”
His address stuns you.
You’re not a commander.
You’re barely a Jedi Knight.
Your promotion, in fact, came right before you were deployed to this inhospitable planet.
You don’t correct the captain, though.
There’s no time for it.
Not with a horde heading in your direction.
And what a swarm it is, you realize, stomach churning with dread.
Battle droids.
Super battle droids.
Droidekas.
Spider droids.
Hailfires.
All coming right at you.
The reality of the situation is clear.
There are no fighter tanks to combat those hailfires.
No AT-RTs to mow down the battle droids.
It’s just you and a rapidly diminishing squadron of men.
Clones are not like droids.
Their numbers aren’t infinite.
It took time to grow new clones.
Train them.
Prepare them for battle.
Time you do not have.
You and these men are going to die.
Not before you take as many droids with you as you can.
A hailstorm of blaster fire erupts.
Bodies fall around you.
Each life extinguished is like a candle blown out by a strong breeze.
Leaving you cold, cold, cold.
You’re a Jedi, however, and don’t allow your grief to consume you.
You let it pass into the Force.
“Sir, look!” CT-7567 points to the sky. “Reinforcements are on the way!”
A sigh of relief escapes you as Republic gunships break through the barrage of laser blasts, bringing desperately needed backup, and much needed air support.
The battle you feared lost turns into a Republic victory a short time later.
There’s no celebrating for you, however.
There’s injured and dead soldiers to attend too.
You move to a clone leaning heavily on a pile of rocks. He tries to straighten as you approach but you shake your head.
“We do not need such formalities.”
“Sir?”
“You’re injured.” You slide an arm around his waist. “I think we can forego protocol until after you receive medical attention.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Twyla, please, Trooper.”
“I’m Jesse.” A pained grunt escapes him. “Sir.”
You go to correct him but the arrival of CT-6116, Kix you heard the medic called, puts an end to the subject. You turn Jesse over to the medic and go to help the others in need of medical attention. CT-7567 materializes at your side after you help the last injured trooper into the waiting transport.
“Commander? Your transport is waiting.”
“I’m not a commander.” You turn to the captain. “I’m a Jedi. A newly knighted one, in fact.”
“In my books, sir, experience outranks everything.”
“Please, just Twyla.” You walk with him towards the waiting gunship. “And you and your men definitely outrank me, Captain.”
“It’s Rex.” You think you detect a hint of humor in his tone but can’t be sure. “Commander.”
You accept the address despite feeling you haven’t earned it.
Something tells you that you will before this conflict is over.
If we don’t end this war, and soon, it will end the Republic and everything it stands for.
Something as a Jedi you cannot allow to happen.
Still, you find yourself wishing there was another way to bring about a resolution.
If only to stop more lives from being sacrificed.
Enough were lost here this day.
Men you swear to see honored for their sacrifice.
“Let’s take our leave…” You look at the captain. Committing his image to memory. Just in case you never see him again. “Rex.”
“Sir, yes, sir.”

hiii here is my OC
CT-9905 “Aris”
(the one between echo and wrecker)
her number is just coincidental she wasnt made with the batch
She’s a female clone, and she was 14 when the Clone Wars started. The Kaminoans wanted to terminate her but they thought she could be of use for cleaning and stuff, they did give her a bit if training anyways tho. She escaped through Jango Fett’s ship, and found herself of Geonosis. Then she took a Separatist ship during the battle of Geonosis and piloted it to a random planet, living on the streets for a while until the Separatists came to invade the planet. She was cornered by battle droids when Rex saved her and adopted her into the 501st cause *dad rex goated*!!! Rex personally trained her but didn’t allow her to go on missions because protective, she sneaks aboard anyways onto the rookies mission, experienced actual combat for the first time and is super scared, echo and fives comfort her. She’s also a little scared of heights. During the Battle of Kamino, she fought alongside Echo and Fives and Rex and Cody and 99, and 99 was her best friend back on Kamino, so shes super sad when he dies. Rex wants to promote her to ARC trooper alongside Echo and Fives but she refuses, not wanting more expectations to be put on her. She plays call of duty with fives and exho, and theyre like her best friends and big brothers :)
During the citadel rescue, echo “dies” and she tries to help him but shes also severely hurt, rex literally CARRIES her all the way and she makes it back to base alive, but really beaten up and she’s paralyzed cause explosion. Rex and Fives help her walk again, and shes super happy, but since rex is super protective he doesnt allow her to go on missions again, so she clips herself to the outside of the gunship and sneaks onto a bunch of missions. When Fives dies she almost kills Fox but rex stops her. Then during TBB clone wars arc, she joins and the bad batch take interest in her because shes a defective too, and shes also good with a sword and knife + pistols and has *common sense weeee*!!! When they rescue echo shes really happy and she joins the bad batch with echo but hugs rex before she goes cos 😭😭😭
Thats where im at rn shes with the bad batch and her closest friend is gonky in tbb
Relationships:
rex: dad
fives: big brother/best friend
echo: big brother/best friend
kix: good friend
jesse: friend
cody: cool uncle
hunter: “sir”
crosshair: frenemy
wrecker: a little annoying but hes got a good heart
tech: “shut up tech”
gonky: *friendly head pats*
soon to be omega: she sees her old self in omega and doesnt want her to he corrupted
Looks:
Short black hair in a pixie cut, black armor with orange highlights, sword on back (rex gave it to her), 2 pistols on belt, knife on forearm armor, normal helmet but with orange visor, has tbb markings but also rex’s helmet markings, the aurebesh 5, echo’s handprint, the 501st symbol. She also tattoos all the people shes lost on her arm, so theres echo which is canceled on her arm lmfao
im planning on making her depressed after tech dies and crosshair joins the empire and has violent outbursts, especially at omega and hunter, but when crosshair rejoins the batch she calms down
personality: istp, a little reserved but really good homies with the clones, gamer, likes music, likes violence and blood, can kill and will kill if you hurt anyone she loves, and she doesnt usually show it often but she cares about tbb
yea um there we go :)
Welcome back to another OC Sunday Spotlight!
Aka the time in which every Sunday I'll come up with a prompt and anyone and everyone has the opportunity to answer with as many OCs as they wish!
You can reblog this post, answer in the comments, or come up with your own post to answer the prompts! And feel free to submit prompts as well!
It's an excuse to yap about your OCs so feel free to do so! Add pictures, links, or anything else regarding the OC in the spotlight if you'd like! And in addition, feel free to tag any mutuals to hop on the stage :D
Let's get this show started!
SPOTLIGHT ON: WIP OC(s)!
Here are mine!
The beginnings of what I'm calling...
♠️♥️ Deck Squad! ♦️♣️
🃏 All based off of cards in a deck (plus Uno and Wild Card)
🃏 But I have no idea what their armor color is going to be yet :( or how it'll be designed (Suggestions are VERY welcomed!!)
🃏I do want to do something with the number "52" though (like 52nd Battalion or something) since that's how many cards are in a deck
🃏I want them to do cool undercover stuff, like in casinos or whatever - something like that - to match that Ocean's 11 type aesthetic
🃏More info about them individually can be found here! Or just ask me questions about them if you'd like :D
💫 Check out last week's prompt! 💫 Join the tag list here!

It’s been a while! Unfortunately, my hands/arms are uuuhhhhhh let’s just say fucked rn. SO writing is a bit of a struggle. But finally! An update!
"Masters of the Council, I have some news." Shaak Ti's holograph gives a small bow.
"Listening, are we. Give your report, you may." Master Yoda leans forward on his gimer stick, ears perking up attentively.
Mace can only hope that this report will be good news, considering the last they heard from Kamino was from the fleet in space around the planet engaging in a separatist fleet that had managed to make its way into the system. The realisation that there truly are information leaks in the Republic, there truly are still people who are double teaming... Well, it's highly concerning.
"We sustained losses, but few. We managed to repel the Separatist attack and the facilities of Tipoca City are still fully functional." She clasps her hands in front of her. "We were lucky that Master Unduli and her fleet had arrived on the planet already, separate from the second fleet in the space room above, as Asajj Ventress herself arrived on the scene."
Always when there are dangerous attacks it seems as if Ventress is involved. Hardly surprising, if she truly is Count Dooku's apprentice, but as she is a powerful fighter and strong with the Dark Side, it is still rather unfortunate for them. However expected something may be, the reality of it can still be unfortunate.
"She engaged Master Unduli in battle, which I was told was on even ground, though Master Unduli claims she made a mistake and was injured. However, she was aided by two troopers—CT-1409 Echo and CT-5555 Fives who have been promoted to the rank of elite ARC following their proof of skill during the attack—and thanks to the distraction provided by the troopers, they managed to lure Ventress into losing control. Master Unduli swiftly struck to ensure her capture. Consequently, Ventress is now missing and arm and we currently have her in custody, ready to be transferred to Coruscant with Master Unduli's fleet. Master Unduli, along with CT-1409 and CT-5555, will transfer her and report further to you, my fellow members of the Council, at their time of arrival."
Mace strokes his chin.
"It's concerning that the Separatists were able to mount an attack on Kamino at all." He looks at his fellow Council Members. "It suggests what we've feared for some time: there are intelligence leaks in the Republic."
"Quite," Master Ti says with a nod. "However... It seems their information was incomplete. They were aware of Skywalker's fleet surrounding the planet, but it seems they were taken aback by Master Unduli's forces down on the planet surface, as well as the presence of her and her Padawan."
Stass Allie leans forward in her chair. "So their information is now faulty or incomplete, you say? It's quite the surprise, since it previously has seemed almost overwhelmingly accurate. We've often faced hard opposition or terrible ambushes from the Separatists."
"Perhaps," Plo says gently, "But it does lend credence to what we theorised about earlier: they had someone highly ranked who fed them information, but who has since been unable to continue to provide them with information. Perhaps some of the corrupt information sellers have been among the Senators recently arrested? Or perhaps among their staff, and thus with their boss's ousting, they no longer have access to the information they used to. It's not impossible to imagine that the Separatists would get information from different sources and piece together a clearer view from that."
"And we shouldn't forget Mas Amedda's corruption. Wouldn't it be possible that he helped give the Separatists some of the top secret information from the Chancellor's office before he and Palpatine were put under investigation in the first place?" Eeth Koth taps his fingers gently against the armrest of his chair.
"Speculate, we can. But know, we do not. Find anything such, the investigation did not."
"Of course, Master Yoda. You are correct." Plo nods his head. "Still, it would be remiss of us to not take it into consideration."
"Certainly." Ti staples her fingers together.
"So they attacked Kamino, likely based on information they'd received from an inside source. However, as none but the Jedi Council and the Supreme Chancellor's office—" Mace ignores Obi-Wan's loud cough at that—"Knew of Master Unduli's presence... That information couldn't be leaked. Skywalker's presence was known to the Senate, Master Unduli's was not. So it seems that ultimately, this attack was far more costly for them than they must have anticipated. After all, the factories remain intact and one of their most powerful players, Asajj Ventress, is now injured and in our custody."
"Planned for this, they had not. What step Dooku will take next, wonder do I."
"We don't have any time to lose, Ventress must be transported to Coruscant as quickly as possible so the Separatists don't have the time to plan and execute a rescue operation for her." There's no doubt in Mace's mind that if they take too long, just like so many times before, this chance will slip through their fingers.
"Master Unduli's fleet will leave in the morning, Master Windu," Ti says, inclining her head. "She'll be arriving along with the two troopers who were involved in the capture."
Mace keeps his face calm, but he finds that piece of information very interesting indeed. Most likely Shaak Ti is attempting to send them a secret message, something regarding the two troopers.
Very interesting indeed.
"Look forward to seeing them, we shall. May the Force be with you."
"May the Force be with you, Masters." Ti's hologram disappears, and silence spreads in the Council chamber for a brief moment.
"We'll need to prepare for their arrival. While I'm sure the Senate will want the courts to deal with Ventress and sentence her for one thing or another, I'm not sure how that will be able to proceed." Koth leans back in his chair. "We should prepare some sort of holding cell for her in the Temple, just in case."
"You she is, but powerful with the Dark Side, she is. Underestimate her, we cannot. Underestimate her master, we cannot."
"Are we sure that Count Dooku will even... care?" Kit looks concerned. "The Sith are generally of a everyone-for-themselves sort."
"It would be politically disastrous for him not to care," Obi-Wan says with a shake of his head. "Regardless of Dooku's personal feelings, Ventress has been too high in the ranks of the Separatists and she knows too much for it to be in any way safe for him to leave her in our hands."
"Then we can only hope that Master Unduli's fleet reaches us safely," Plo says grimly, leaning his head in his hands.
"Perhaps, then, it's time to move on to the next object on our agenda." Master Gallia crosses her arms over her chest. "We cannot change the facts of what is, and we cannot do more to aid Master Unduli now. No fleet we can send her would reach hers quickly enough, and Skywalker and the 501st need to remain at Kamino for the time being."
"Speed is the safest thing for now," Koth agrees with a nod.
"Then I will second Master Gallia's motion to move the meeting along," Obi-Wan says. "I'm afraid I have an upcoming meeting with a few Senators..."
Mace snorts. "And may the Force be with you there as well."
Obi-Wan makes a face as their peers laugh. Well, it's not as if Mace is wrong, is it?
The Senate may have had a bit of a spring cleaning, so to speak, but that does not mean that there is not still much to be done.

circadiana's oc masterlist!
realizing i haven't had one of those before?? so here's that i guess. will likely be updating intermittently with new ocs, ocs i missed, and new information!
the lineup:
- cadaver
- wishbone
- isadora ariti
- cortex squad
- rotgut & scout
- eyre brraven
- ceph
- sarad
- joona caegris
Details, stories, and art below!
cadaver (he/him) - CT-1811
#clone medic cadaver
READ HIS FULL DOCUMENT HERE.
cadaver is most well-known for his gruffness and lack of patience for antics or cowardice. he's not known for being very social with anyone other than locks, but he has strong bonds with most senior members of the 501st, including particularly rex and echo. he also forges a close relationship with dogma and tup, who he views as his responsibility. their losses change him in a way he never recovers from.
during the war, he makes a small group of friends while on shore leaves—duke, dvas, druzy, and himself (d-squad!). the four of them meet up at jazz clubs all over coruscant to dance, enjoy music, and chat the night away. they’re some of the few people cadaver feels able to relax around. he also shares a particularly close relationship with duke during the war, teetering between friends and something more until just before cadaver ships out for mandalore, when they share their first kiss.
cadaver survives order 66, but not without serious consequences. after the crash of the venator, he was left stranded under burning debris for two days before rex and ahsoka found him.
almost all of my post-order 66 content is in the commander cad au. summarized, cadaver becomes a rebel commander. he also reunite with duke and is able to pursue a relationship with him.
wishbone (she/her) - ARC-2384
#arc trooper wishbone & #wishadora
READ THE CORTEX SQUAD DOCUMENT HERE.
wishbone is my other main oc. she's an arc trooper and a sergeant in the coruscant guard and leads a squad of nine troopers called cortex squad. cortex will get more content and rundowns as soon as I can get to it--there's lots of lore there! check out the document above for rundowns of each member.
wishbone is kind, intelligent, and very protective, though she often suffers from unsureness borne of her inability to protect her family in a time of war. her best friend is cherub, her second-in-command, and the only member of cortex who is older than her. she's also close with her agemates, woozy and chitin, and very much so with her adopted children, the youngest three members of the squad--knifepoint, saccharine, and knucklehead (more often referred to simply as "knuckles".)
wishbone is also involved with a twi'lek named isadora ariti. isadora Is a waitress in the mid-low level district that cortex patrols and works at a clone-friendly diner, which has become the safe haven of many a coruscant guard. wishbone and dora meet two months into wishbone's deployment to coruscant, which was halfway through the first year of the war. they hit it off right away and wishbone is immediately head-over-heels for dora, but has no means to understand or communicate her own feelings. she gets her star tattoos in honor of dora, who, after confessing that she'd never been of coruscant, shared that she dreamed only of getting to see the stars one day.
four months into her deployment, wishbone is seen without her helmet on by one of the more clone-resenting senators--with her longer-than-regulation hair and tattoos, she is deemed a defective unit requiring immediate decommissioning. commander fox acts fast and slices into the system, marking her ct-number as decommissioned and reassigning her the ct-number of a recently deceased clone who had not yet been reported dead. after, he does send her back to kamino, but not to be decommissioned--rather, to receive arc training. regardless of her exemplary performance justifying the promotion, specialized training would allow wishbone to fill important roles outside of the senate dome, and also just gave her a moment away from the prying eyes of the republic.
wishbone serves as an arc trooper and sergeant for the rest of the war, leading cortex squad. upon her return to the guard, she also rekindles a relationship with isadora, however tentative and unsure. over the years, their relationship grows stronger, and though they never quite have the chance to put a name on it, it's as real to them as it could possibly be.
however, by the end of the war, wishbone is aware of growing tensions within the republic. she senses that the war is reaching a boiling point, even here at the heart of the republic, and she wants dora nowhere near it. she tries to distance herself from isadora gently, but unable to explain why, dora doesn't accept this. she's determined to find a solution to fix whatever it is wishbone is so afraid of. wishbone tells her there's nothing wrong, they just can't see each other anymore--but dora doesn't accept this either. out of options and backed into a corner, wishbone resorts to saying that she never loved isadora--that she was bored and had no interest in continuing their relationship. the words, so far from the truth, break her as she says them, and isadora's heart is broken as well. wishbone leaves that day and never returns.
order 66 fully affects wishbone, as well as all of cortex squad--except for the youngest member, knucklehead. knuckles flees the corrie headquarters and ends up wandering lost through the lower levels of coruscant, where he reunites with scout, his best friend before he was assigned to cortex. he had thought scout dead for a long time, and to the guard, scout was--but the story wasn't that simple. (check out rotgut's section for more about scout). with scout's help, they track down isadora. isadora is resistant to them, still bitter over wishbone's abandonment, but when knuckles tearfully explains the situation, it all clicks in dora's head.
though it takes a few weeks, together, isadora, knuckles, and scout isolate wishbone from a patrol of stormtroopers and knock her unconscious and remove her chip.
tragically, by the time they have they have the means to rescue wishbone, all other members of cortex have been reassigned or executed. knuckles and wishbone are the only ones left.
their small group escapes coruscant, and though it takes years, they grieve, heal, and move on. wishbone and isadora reconcile and are able, finally, to have a real relationship. they get married and have children, the youngest of whom is named after wishbone's first daughter, saccharine, lost in order 66.
isadora ariti (she/her)
#isadora ariti & #wishadora
isadora is wishbone's partner. her and wishbone's story is covered in wishbone's section. isadora was born and raised on coruscant to rylothian refugees and has never left the planet, dreaming only of getting to see the stars one day. she's a waitress at a small but homey diner in the mid-lower levels of coruscant and can often be found at clone rights protests. after the war, she and wishbone escape coruscant and eventually end up getting married and starting a family together.
cortex squad
#cortex squad & individual oc tags
READ THE CORTEX SQUAD DOCUMENT HERE.
Note: aside from Wishbone, I share these characters with a buddy!
cortex squad consists of nine clone troopers led by wishbone.
wishbone -- sergeant
cherub -- second-in-command, corporal. generally very laid back and a little gruff. oldest member of the squad.
woozy -- medic, corporal. skilled medic but extremely squeamish, hence the name. he hates his job.
chitin -- riot trooper, corporal. he's self-assured, tough, and acts a lot like a jock. he can sometimes be the cause of tension within the squad due to his stubborn and argumentative nature.
watchdog -- arf trooper, k9 handler, corporal. protective, high-strung, and unable to let down his guard.
sodwatch -- private. quiet, anti-social, and shy. NOTE: Sodwatch is owned by my buddy, not me.
knifepoint -- private. brash and rebellious, though protective of his younger siblings saccharine and knuckles. he's the oldest of wishbone's kids.
saccharine -- private. clever, witty, and humorous, though with a bad mean streak. she's wishbone's middle child.
knucklehead -- private. sweet, friendly, and a little bit stupid.
for more details about everyone read the document above, but please note it's still in the process of being written!
oc tags all follow the #clone trooper [name] outside of watchdog, who will use #arf trooper watchdog.
rotgut & scout (he/him)
HEAVY CONTENT WARNING: implied torture, mind-control, non-consensual body modification, violence, death.
#clone trooper rotgut
Note: Rotgut is shared and co-written by me and a buddy!
i rarely talk about rotgut or his lore, but there's lots of it, and because it's sort of relevant to cortex squad, I'll share.
rotgut is a CC clone and an ex-commander of the coruscant guard. during his time as a commander, he was subjected to experimentation by Palpatine. palpatine wanted to know just how far the inhibitor chip could be pushed, and through rotgut, he learned.
rotgut's chip was left permanently damaged by Palpatine, and after the sith had finished his experiments, he wiped rotgut's memory. rotgut was left staggering with an impossible-to-ignore void in his mind--though he didn't understand what, how, or why, he knew that something was missing, and he was determined to find out what. rotgut's psyche was also damaged, leaving him volatile, unempathetic, and deteriorating.
to add insult to injury, rotgut was removed from command and demoted to corporal. unfortunately, his batchmate cherub, another commander, was also demoted. his relation to rotgut was cited, claiming that one faulty product in a batch tainted all the others. though cherub eventually moved on from this, he never stopped feeling as though he was meant for something more. rotgut was assigned to manage the shinies coming in from kamino and cherub was assigned to the newly-formed cortex squad under freshly-promoted sergeant wishbone.
rotgut experimented on himself to discover what was missing, and when that stopped being effective, he started kidnapping his shinies and experimenting on them. he rationalized it as being for the greater good--the sacrifice of few would lead to the liberation of many. one such shiny was named scout. rotgut took a shining to scout--intelligent, ambitious, and most of all, incredibly loyal--and instead of kidnapping him to experiment on him, he faked his death and took him to fill a role as his assistant. scout was forced to lead his brothers to their deaths and hold them down as they begged for mercy.
mercy never came. not for rotgut's victims, and not for scout.
after order 66, rotgut (by that time, fully deteriorated and more cybernetic than human) abandoned his laboratory with scout inside of it. scout was trapped for days, but eventually managed to break his way out and escape into the lower levels of coruscant, where he reunited with his old friend knucklehead.
rotgut was left wandering the galaxy for years after order 66, replacing more and more of himself with poorly-made cybernetics in an attempt to fix the damage left by Palpatine and furthered by his faulty chip. he died alone, wandering the sands of some unknown backwater planet, his mission never accomplished.
eyre brraven (they/them)
#eyre brraven
while eyre had previously had a lot of lore and plot, that has since been retconned since I've distanced myself from the bad batch. there's not as much now, but I'll go over what's left!
eyre was raised in the jedi order from age 2 and was 16 at the start of the clone wars. their master was a togruta named master rekaari, who was the chief healer in the jedi order. their relationship with their master veered more towards father and child than it did master and apprentice, but that didn't make it any healthier. rekaari was reactive and his love for eyre was very conditional, leaving them with an insecurity in their relationships that they carried far into adulthood. they had a passion and talent for healing as a padawan, but that all was dismissed at the start of the clone wars. their master was killed at the battle of geonosis and, instead of being assigned to a new one, they were given a single clone battalion to command under the supervision of various, oft-changing jedi knights and masters. them and their battalion would travel from front to front, providing reinforcement wherever the council deemed it necessary. throughout the year they participated in the war, they served under obi-wan kenobi, depa billaba, and more.
a year into the war, however, they were caught in a battle that went as poorly as it possibly could have, and despite eyre's best efforts, all of their troopers were lost--their siblings, subordinates, friends--gone in an instant.
the council deemed eyre’s survival of this event a sufficient substitute for their jedi trials and offered them knighthood. disgusted by the jedi's treatment of the death of their men as a mere trial in eyre's own life, eyre spat in the face of the jedi council and left the order.
eyre's story from here on out is vague, but after order 66, they end up in the rebellion and getting in contact with an old friend of theirs, @jaigeye 's bernardeau namya, who had helped raised them in the jedi creche.
ceph (they/them)
ceph is my kamino security oc. they serve under @jaigeye 's commander luck among other kamsec ocs belonging to my friends and mutuals.
they're a young, cheeky, and a little empty-headed clone who always has a smile on their face, despite the rather dire circumstances they live in. they love the rain, the ocean, and the storms of kamino, and feel most at home in it.
ceph is known for walking unnervingly quitely, almost seeming to teleport from place to place, much to the annoyance of their frequent victim, alpha-17. lock helps them put charms and baubles in their hair (which, amazingly, yes, they do voluntarily style like that), in the hopes that it would help everyone hear them coming. it doesn't work, but now ceph's attached to the little doohickeys lmao
sarad (she/her)
#sarad
sarad is a togruta who was only a few months old when cadaver and duke adopted her. she's a sweet, bubbly baby.
joona caegris (they/he)
#joona caegris
joona is my padawan self insert oc! next to no plot for them, they're just there to be fun to draw and talk about with my friends. their master is mace windu and they have a peach lightsaber!
note on joona's pronouns: they generally prefer they/them but are happy to have he/him sprinkled in there occasionally :)
if you’ve made it this far, thanks so much for reading! again, these are very liable to be updated as i come up with new lore, ocs, or just realized i forgot someone lmao. cheers!

Now you mention it, caste-system is actually a pretty good term for it. I've just wrote an entire essay about the differences between Commandos and CT-s yesterday based on the first chapter of Hard-Contact.
But just see the ARC troopers for instance! In Legends (not just RepComm), ARC troopers are an entirely different breed of clones with different purpose, but when CC showed skills, they could train under an Alpha.
While in TCW, they completely abolished this lore (alphas entirely), and canon now follows the narrative that everyone can be an ARC trooper (or Clone Commander) if they tried hard enough, or they earned it with exceptional skills. ARC trooper is basicly a promotion in TCW.
Same with CC-s, basicly they are CT-s with a promotion which explains Lieutenant Thire and Sergeant Appo being commanders later.
so I’m finally reading the Republic Commando books (at least I’m 2% in), and I keep on wondering if really the official narrative for the clones is based a lot on castes.
I would say castes (the word is very loaded though so I am happy to be corrected) rather than classes because for example, at birth you have fandom favorite Commanders, then you have Alphas, Nulls, etc. and, again, they’ve been determined since birth. ARC seems a training based venue (upwards social mobility?) but I wonder if the first generation was also assigned ARC at birth. (!!!) they interact conscious of each other’s role, and especially of how their PurposeTM shapes which place they fit in the GAR (their world)(their whole damned world)(the clones really are child soldiers raised in a military cult like we know but also ????)
anyways, in canon post o66 given that they’re not really out in numbers I don’t know if gets explored, but I’m so curious whether anyone actually did so in various fandom works, especially those no-o66 or fix its where clones build their own society (or which kind of society would they build???) im pretty sure fans out there must have grappled with this possibility, if nothing else because casteism (vs classism) is a social dynamic that still exists I various part of the world, so someone must have had thoughts about it?
anyway if you have recs for fandom works (fics or meta or anything) that interrogate this scenario I’d be grateful!!

Ok two wrongs don’t make a right but two dark and emotionally painful arcs might make a funnie crack au so
Umbara and the Chips arc
Anakin leaves and krell shows up and starts being a jerk and makes everyone march for 12 hours except oops turns out halfway through Tups chip flips out cause he’s sleep deprived or w/e so he goes and just absolutely gets krells ass who doesn’t expect it cause he’s a jerk about clones
The 501st panic frantically set up camp stick tup in some handcuffs and start blowing up anakins space text to get him to come back so he does so then idk shenanigans and non depressing fix it au commences
i thought about this ask for a while and that's actually a very reasonable idea
let's say krell and the boys have some time pre-mission and krell unpacks his whole ugly personality and orders the 501st to go running for a couple of hours
rex remains quiet for a while but he really sees how his men are growing more and more tired so he's like enough is enough and goes to confront krell
krell starts arguing, saying that the clones should be able to follow some orders, how he doesn't give a flying fuck about the republic and even less fucks about the clones' lives
he basically talks treason
and fives stands in the background and records all of this
anyways, our boys are very sleep-deprived, very stressed and also very exhausted, which promptly activates some chips
suddenly there are like 23 troopers having laser eyes directed at krell and they point their blasters at him because they won't hesitate bitch
krell's dead and rex looks down at his corpse and is like, damn,,, that's unfortunate
so he calls cody via comm and asks him what he would hypothetically do if his men would hypothetically kill a jedi, you know haha hypothetically speaking and cody sits on the other side of umbara like,,, excuse me
(he doesn't call anakin because he's a bit too far away and with the chancellor)
(the recordings of fives later make it easier to demonstrate that krell was ready to sabotage a mission of the republic, so there are eventually no real consequences for the 23 troopers)
assuming that some chips are more susceptible to a technical failure due to an incredible amount of stress, tup wouldn't be the only one to go bonkers - and when there is more than one clone trooper affected, shit gets statistically more interesting
since obi-wan and cody both have pretty nice ranks, they talk to the jedi order (palpatine tries to interfere but no one listens because that's shit they want to investigate okay) and are also the ones approaching the kaminoans. and this time they order a brain scan, making the so-called tumor visible, arguing that these have to be removed, and of course the kaminoans start bullshitting, saying that these tumors have to stay because the tumors are inhibitor chips and are implemented to prevent extremely violent behavior, making the clones less aggressive than jango fett. obi-wan and cody send this shit to kix, who looks at this statement and is seriously offended
kaminoans: the clones can become violent at any time which is why we implemented an organic chip into the right frontal lobe of their brains
kix, a medic: what ?? th e FUCK
kix, taking in a deep breath: alright buckle your seat belts motherfuckers because most ordinary social conventions are cast aside by impulsive behavior when there's a LESION in the right frontal lobe. there's a predisposition to manslaughter and harmful behavior when there's DAMAGE in the frontal region
kix: did you really clone a man with a lesion?? did jango fett have a lesion mhhh??? oh look at these CT scans of these 23 clone troopers, they are all healthy and fine so I THINK THE FUCK NOT
kix, who has no time to breathe: ALSO aggression and violent behavior have many neural correlates. if we clones are all this aggressive, why not modify our levels of serotonin metabolites ??? why not put a chip into the hypothalamus or the amygdala?? why not enhance GABA transmission ??
after listening to kix ranting his ass off, obi-wan, cody and rex naturally wonder why the clones need a chip to prevent violent behavior, even though there is no indication that the clones are more violent than nat-borns. see, they have 23 healthy troopers who randomly went havoc and the kaminoans said their chips malfunctioned. maybe the kaminoans are right and the chip is necessary to inhibit violent behavior BUT since a healthy right frontal lobe is also linked to decision making and judgment, maybe the chip malfunctioned and therefore caused the right frontal lobe to dysfunction, promoting violent behavior
natural conclusion: surgically remove the chips from the 23 clone troopers, look how their behavior changes, and conduct a study that involves a group of clones that do not receive a chip in their embryonic state and compare their behavior to the clones who received a chip (conducted and monitored by the jedi order ofc)
result: the treatment group did not get more aggressive than the control group. and the 23 clone troopers went back to normal after the removal of the chip
therefore, the republic orders the kaminoans to stop implementing the chips, even to remove them, since they obviously proved that the chips can malfunction, causing aggressive behavior. obi-wan, cody and rex naturally don't trust the kaminoans since they already implemented chips without their knowledge, so their strengthen their control positions on kamino and shaak ti becomes even more of a mother hen
(anakin gets the memo a tad later and it's good that way because he's a) to emotional for all of this and b) too close to palpatine)
in conclusion: krell's cruelty randomly activated order 66 and because more than one clone trooper is affected, the jedi council is WAY more invested, barely listening to palpatine or the kaminoans. and even though palpatine is still in the office and the jedi order still has no idea about order 66 he can't do shit because all chips are slowly removed from all clone troopers and he can't really order the remaining clones to go full assassin if anakin is still a good boi

one attachment left in the galaxy(Captain Rex x F!Reader Soulmate AU)
Soulmate AU: Captain Rex x F!Reader(no use of "Y/N") and mentions of Platonic!Reader and Fives
Prologue/Starter(Takes place a few years before on Kamino)
Costume inspo for reader
Gif and picture used for inspo are not mine! All credit goes to the amazing creators!
A/N: Did I say last night that this was going to be out by the end of the week and then proceed to write all throughout the night to finish it... maybe? Did I also end this with the possibility for a part two... Maybe(this means let me know if you want a part two)? Also all the links used down below go to wookieepedia to give more context to what those items are(I hadn't seen them mentioned in a lot of fic so far so I though I would put them just incase(also a lot of research went into this and I'm convinced I know more about random star wars objects than my own reality)). Anyways I hope that you like it, any feedback is always welcomed!
Warning: Canon-typical cursing, mentions of crime and violence and some angst
“Okay Fives, let's see who your contact is this time,” Rex quietly murmured to himself.
The captain had recently found himself being tasked with locating a code dealer. A simple assignment, in theory.
Code dealers willing to work with the Galactic Republic were a rare breed. Most code dealers had records longer than the Corellian Run and wouldn’t touch a contract with the Galactic Army unless the GAR put down a deposit of a full pardon from the Chancellor himself.
So, when Fives casually mentioned to his superior that he might know someone in the underworld of Coruscant, Rex was a little skeptical to say the least.
The newly promoted ARC trooper said his contact only worked for nova crystals instead of the usual credits and went by several aliases to protect their actual record. Fives had also given them a glowing review, describing them as “A friend of a friend of a casual hookup for whenever he was on leave”.
His captain could only roll his eyes in response. But kriff, what did Rex have to lose with his general already breathing down his throat to get access to Sepertist channels?
That’s how he found himself on one of the lower levels of Coruscant in civilian clothing. Itching the back of his neck where the tag stuck out, right above his tattoo. He had been awkwardly waiting for some time in front of a shady cantina for someone he thought might never come, or possibly, someone who would end up killing him.
But he knew the risks he was taking when he went through the portal to the Underworld. While it was his first trip to the crime epicenter, he had heard enough rumors of why people tried to get the kriff out. Looking around from where he was standing, he could see why no one stayed willingly in this part of the planet.
When he first landed and took off his spreader helmet he was greeted with a fit full of coughs due to the unfiltered air. While the city had a consistent gloomy look to it, what he had previously thought was green paint was actually fungus growing on all of the buildings. And everywhere there wasn’t fungus there was either graffiti or what he assumed were blood stains.
“CT 7567?” He heard a soft voice call out behind him, barely loud enough for him to hear.
As a natural response, he straightened up and turned around. Stopping just before he put his hand up to salute.
“You’re the captain right?” You asked him from under your hood.
He nodded, trying to catch a glance of your face underneath the layers of fabric. Kriff, your whole body was covered head to toe, not an inch of skin to see.
“I know Fives. He contacted me a couple of days ago saying you were coming,” You said softly, stepping closer, your gloved hand grabbing his forearm.
His first reaction was to flinch away, but after noticing how soft your touch was, he decided to permit it.
The captain was hardly used to any physical contact. The plastoid armor he wore took away most of his sense of touch and it wasn’t like the kaminoans were very affectionate when he was just a cadet in his blacks.
The feeling of the heat from your hands was a sensation he had never felt before. The brief thought of what a hug would feel like brushed his mind and made his heart jump a little.
His gaze however told you he was still weary of completely trusting you.
“Come with me, we’re not safe out here,” You said in a low voice before pulling him away from the streets. Your grasp never leaving his arm.
Rex knew he probably should have been more concerned about leaving alone with a stranger. Hell, he hadn’t been able to even make out your face yet. For all he knew you could have been an Umbaran allied with the Separtist leading him to his death.
The only thing that stopped him was your touch. He saw how your body language was so protective, even to an outsider such as himself. Your head peered around every corner before the two of you rounded it, and you were constantly checking your tail to make sure he was okay.
For once, he felt a little out of place being the one protected.
“I’m Re-”
“Don’t tell me your real name,” You cut him off, pulling him in close to you so your voice could just be heard by the two of you, “There are some very dangerous people that want to know who you are and why you are down here,”
“Me?” He asked, confused.
“I saw your speeder bike exit from the portal,” You explained, pulling him along again around another tight corner, “I know I wasn’t the only one to see you come down here,”
“How did you know which bike was mine?” Rex naively asked. He was one out of probably hundreds of speeder bikes to come through the portal that hour. It would have been impossible for you to scout him out.
“You drove a BARC speeder bike to the underworld,” You replied, taking him down a dark stairway, “That’s how I knew,”
“Is that a bad thing? BARC is the military standard on Coruscant,” He replied, still confused.
“Well down here it’s the same as arriving in a TR-14a,” You chuckled, “The only people who drive a BARC speeder down here are police or those rich enough to barter for a stolen one. And with those clothes, you don’t look either,”
You eyed his attire up and down before arriving in front of an abandoned hanger and digging for a lock-pick in the back of your pocket.
With a couple of clicks, the lock fell off.
You stood up dangling the unfastened lock around your index finger, satisfied with your fast work. Rex eyed you very cautiously as if he didn’t trust that this was actually your home. Who would use a physical lock for their front door?
“I learned when I first started slicing that keycards are easy to counterfeit and you can make a simple pass key out of scrap metal. The only way to make sure your stuff doesn’t get broken into down here is to make the lock yourself,” You explained, pushing the door open.
Following you inside, Rex immediately took note of how cozy everything was. The scent of caf drifted in the air. He saw a holoprojector in the corner with a stack of disks laying out next to it. He then spotted your loth-cat spread out on a coffee table over a few identichip and your vulptex cuddled up by the fireplace. Both animals slept quietly and couldn’t be more oblivious to the outside world.
This wasn’t what he pictured the home of a code dealer or a criminal being.
“Thought you might want a cup of caf” You offered, walking from around a corner with two mugs in your hands, “Sorry I don’t have anything better. You can only get instant stuff down here,”
“That’s fine,” Rex said, taking the cup, “Better than the burnt stuff the GAR has for us,”
He noted that you were still wearing your hood, even though there were two cups of caf.
You giggled his statement before placing your full cup of caf on the coffee table, choosing not to drink out of it in front of him. Instead, you pull your feet up as you sat down on your couch. Your loth-cat seemed to be able to recognize you without seeing your face and lazily walked over to snuggle up by your side.
“So, how do you really know Fives?” Rex asked, sitting on a seat across from you, “He only told me that you were a friend of a friend,”
“It’s a long story,” You hesitated, “I don’t know if you want to hear it,”
Internally you debate whether or not you wanted to dive into those details with someone you had just met. Nonetheless, someone who could easily have you thrown in jail with a life-sentence just for sharing parts of your friendship with Fives.
“This story? It doesn’t have to do with getting drunk at 79’s and you taking him back to this place, does it?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.
“No, no, no,” You quickly denied almost laughing at the idea of you and Fives, “I’ve never actually been above the 2000th level of Coruscant, nonetheless to 79’s with him,”
“You mean, you’ve never left the planet?” He asked, surprised by your confession. You seemed like someone who was so out of place in this scummy criminal underworld, it was a wonder to him of why you hadn’t left this place.
“Nope, never,” You revealed shaking your head, “If you're a good enough slicer, then you don’t need to leave the one planet where almost all communications pass through,”
“That still doesn’t answer my question on how you met Fives?”
“You really want to know what your soldiers do in their spare time don’t you? You sighed, shaking your head a little bit and figuring the captain wouldn’t let up anytime soon.
“That’s why I’m the captain and they’re not,” He smiled before taking another sip of caf.
“I must have met Fives when he was new to Coruscant. He wanted some fake holos to prank a friend and he couldn’t understand why no smart holo-faker wanted to work with someone in the military,” You started, figuring Rex wasn’t going to arrest you for your little confession until you at least gave over the codes, “Lucky for him I guess, I happen to be in a position where I was very desperate for some work. So I faked some holograms for him, he got some laughs and I got paid. After a while he asked if I could help him get his hands on some cases of alcohol. Which I did, and over a while, I just became the person who knew how to get stuff for him and he made sure the GAR stayed off my case,”
“So you’re a smuggler too?” Rex asked, thoroughly now intrigued by his trooper’s civilian friend.
“I wear many hats down here in the underworld,” You replied, “Why? You surprised that someone down here tries to evade port authorities?”
The term “smuggler” was one way to describe what you did. But you really thought of yourself more as a dealer who didn’t have to put up with trade regulations. You served a lot more people that way. More than just your average slimy crime lord.
You helped smuggle food to families that couldn’t get on galactic welfare and you assisted refugees by smuggling them to safer planets for their freedom.
“No, I just didn’t think the one person who would make Fives bend the rules would be a smuggler, and I didn’t think he would ever go against regulations, at least certainly not for a couple cases of whatever bathtub ale you were able to smuggle in,” The captain replied.
You almost sneered at the cheap shot he took. If it wasn’t for what Fives had told you about him, and the fact that your vulptex had taken to him quickly by cuddling up on his lap, you might have kicked him out right then and there.
But, you decided against it. Fives had told you something that made you want to keep Rex around. He had told you about Rex’s tattoo. The one on the nape of his neck. The one that happened to match yours in the exact same place.
He had also conveniently insisted that Rex’s loyalty to the GAR sometimes blinded him. A quality he seemingly put on display without hesitation.
“With all due respect captain, I’ve learned that there’s no one in the galaxy who doesn’t have a price,” You replied swallowing your mild frustration, “And for the record, the cases of alcohol was T'iil-T'iil, some of the most expensive stuff in the galaxy,”
Rex smirked, almost as if he knew he had gotten under your skin, “Okay then, if everyone has a price. What’s yours to take off the hood?”
You sighed knowing it was only a matter of time before he asked to see your face. He wasn’t different from anyone else in that respect.
“For you captain, free of charge,” You said smugly, lifting up the edge of your hood.
For a moment, Rex was excited to see the mystery behind it all. His smirk grew a little bit bigger. Only until he was let down when you pressed the fabric down to your shoulders to reveal the dark mask you had been wearing all along.
Rex’s smirk disappeared, instead now shaking his head at your little stunt.
“Has Fives seen you without all of this?” He gestured to your mask.
“Maybe,” You replied.
Of course the trooper had though. Fives was the one who connected the dots about you and Rex.
It started when the ARC trooper saw you hold your own after a black market deal turned bad. You were lucky to walk away with the few injuries you did. That being a broken nose, a dislocated shoulder and a few bruises scattered throughout your body. However, you quickly found out you couldn't tend to all of them by yourself, at least not without wincing in pain and hurting yourself further.
Fives who happened to be on leave and hanging around was somewhat amused with your state and more than keen on helping. In between snapping your shoulder back in and icing your bruises, you were forced to remove your mask.
You wouldn’t ever forget that moment because right after your apartment filled with your screams of your pain as the trooper tried to reset your nose.
While his hands were on the bridge of your nose, he briefly caught a glimpse of the small mark on the curve of your neck. He paused for a moment, staring down the little starflower. The one identical to another he had seen in the barrack’s refresher on Umbara.
“Has anyone else seen you without your mask?” Rex asked, one of his hands resting in between your vulptex’s ears.
“No, not since I started dealing in the black market,”
“And I assume that was a while ago?”
“Before I was a teenager,” You agreed, remembering your first job smuggling banned holofilms and books from level to level.
You took a quick glance over Rex’s shoulder to see if you could catch a glimpse of his neck, only to see his collar hid the area where the mark would’ve been. While you trusted Fives’s word, there was the only way to know for sure if your tattoo matched with the trooper sitting in front of you.
“If you want to see my face so badly, show me the tattoo on the nape of your neck and I’ll take off my mask,” You proposed.
Rex stared back at you as if you were talking in a different language, “How the kriff do you know about that tattoo?”
“How the kriff do you think?” You countered.
“Kriffin’ Fives and his loud mouth,” He groaned, “Fine,”
Rex shifted and turned his back towards you. His fingers wrapped around the collar of his shirt, pulling it down. From there you spotted what Fives had told you in perfect detail. A little, but certainly a starflower tattoo. One that matched yours to a T.
“Maker,” You let out.
“What don’t tell me you got one too?” Rex chuckled as he turned back around to face you.
You would have answered him with some off-the-wall comment but you were a little too stunned to respond.
Instead, your eyes just focused on him. He was the one attachment you had left in the galaxy, your galactic match. The one person that the force had attached your soul with. Was it so outlandish to think it might have terrified you when you realized he was the one for you.
“You’ve had this since you were born?” You finally managed to ask, dead serious.
“Yeah -well technically not born,” He clarified, “I’m a clo-”
“Rex,” You interrupted him, in a voice the two of you could barely hear. One of your hands reached out to rest on the side of his neck, your fingertips delicately touching his matching mark. Your other hand lifted up, removing your mask, revealing your face to him to fulfill your end of the promise.
The first thing Rex took notice of was your eyes. They were striking but they looked almost scared of him. Then, your lips. How perfect they were when they were a little bit agape in awe. And then how your cheeks fitted your face perfectly, adding a disciplined element to your words.
He sat there for a minute just taking in your beauty. He almost didn’t realize your mask dropping to the floor and your hand reaching to rub the nape of your neck. Rubbing the spot right where his-
“Holy krifffin’ durk,” He cursed.

Kylie when are we getting the ARC trooper Lip reference sheets??? I need to know what that mans looks like under the armour cause I love him dearly
Ask and you shall receive, my friend 😌
Meet ARC trooper ARC-7917, aka "Lip"
As we've established, Lip is an ARC trooper. His number was originally CT-7917, but when he was promoted he was redesignated ARC-7917. His weapons of choice are, like Rex, twin DC-17 Blaster pistols, though he's trained and adept at using a number of different weapons. Like most ARCs, his armour includes a rangefinder, double pauldrons, a kama, holsters and multiple pouches for ammo.
He got his name while he was still a cadet on Kamino, because he was being lippy to one of his superiors and the name stuck. He has since learned to respect his superior officers, though he has little patience for non-clones -especially if they try to talk down to him. He tends to be very sarcastic, but he's not mean, that's just his sense of humor. Bewteen his sarcasm and how outgoing he is, he can come off as seeming kind of cocky and intimidating, but that's just because he's confident in his abilites and knows he's a very capable soldier who's great at his job. Despite how he seems, once you get to know him you come to realize he's a great person and softie at heart. He's the kind of person who would drop everything to come help his friends for even the smallest things.
He cares deeply for his vode, and firmly believes in never leaving a man behind. His jaig eyes were given to him by his commander for his bravery on his last mission before he was promoted to ARC. During this mission, he single-handedly ran into enemy fire after ignoring an order to retreat so that he could carry out two of his fallen brothers who had been seriously wounded and presumed dead. Thanks to him, they both ended up living, and his commander officially reprimanded him for his "stupidity" and for disobeying orders, before awarding him the jaig eyes. Since becoming an ARC, he's been on a number of stealth ops.
The other markings on his helmet are stylized claw marks. He likes to tell people they were from fending off an animal attack while on a mission, but he gives a different animal everytime he tells the story. The truth is he once saw a tooka and tried to pat it and it tried to scratch him up before running away. The claw marks were very faint and barely made a mark, but he thought they were cool and painted the larger, stylized version over where they were, because he's actually a dork.
He likes to keep his hair long, and like Tup he pulls it back when he's wearing his helmet. (Tup 🤝 Lip, long hair and 3 letter names that end in p). He has one tattoo, which is a black rectangle going down the middle of his bottom lip, which he got because of his name.
His favourite beverage is instant-caf. He knows its shitty because everyone teases him for liking it but he enjoys it anyway. He also refuses to try any other kind of caf because he doesn't want to risk enjoying it more and then always being disappointed with the only kind thats normally available to him. He rarely gets leave, but when he is on Coruscant he can be found catching up with his vode at 79s, or relaxing in the barracks surfing the holonet.
And thats all I know about him for now! 😊 I hope you like him!

Hi hi. Were the clones able to move up the rankings? Or were they born into their batches and then those batches were their squad and that was as far as they got? And were their numbers like, AA100 AA101 ETC, or was it more like their roles?
Hi! Yes, clones were able to move up in rankings, we see it at least a couple of times in TCW: - Fives and Echo are promoted to the ARC Trooper designation in season three - Rex was promoted from Captain to Commander in season 7 (but was later dropped back down to Captain and was like "eh, I didn't like the position anyway") Those are just the ones off the top of my head, but clones could move up/down the chain of command ladder and don't seem to have been born into it. I'm not sure about much beyond that, what's shown in TCW and what's not, so if someone else could chime in, that'd be great, but I don't recall anything that said they were born to specific roles? And I'm not sure how numbers worked, but I don't think numbers reflect squads? Like Domino Squad was made up of: - Fives (CT-5555) - Echo (CT-1409) - Cutup (CT-4040) - Droidbait (CT-00-2010) But I'm not sure how numbers for the clones work in general, because there are only four digits and, like, I'm pretty sure there are more than 9,999 clones in the GAR, but I'm not an expert on how this stuff works or if it's been expanded upon in canon books!

BATTALION BREAKDOWN
Alright y'all, here it is, my breakdown of what I think a GAR battalion SHOULD look like. Full disclaimer before we get into it: I tried to research this stuff on wookiepedia as best I could but 1. there wasn't a ton of information out there on some of the things I had questions about and 2. some of it just makes No Sense when you put it together, so a lot of these numbers were made up by me and what I thought made sense based on what we see in the show and just simple logic. Feel free to accept/ignore parts as you please! Also, I'm gonna try to explain the rationale behind certain things as I go along but if you have any questions about this, you can send an ask/reply/reblog this post with your question and I'll do my best to answer it :)
Now that all that's out of the way, here's all the actual info beneath the cut.
Basic Organization
Essentially, the GAR breaks down into four tiers at this level: battalions, companies, platoons, and squads.
Battalions are the largest groups with 576* members and are all numbered, such as the 501st, 212th, 104th, etc. The only exceptions to the numbering convention are the Rancor Battalion that guards Kamino and the Coruscant Guard. Personally I believe that both of these should be double, if not triple, the size of a regular battalion, which could potentially explain the difference in names. Battalions are led by a clone commander and Jedi general + a padawan commander if the Jedi has one. 4 companies make a battalion.
Companies consist of 144 members and are all named. Using the 501st for example, this would be Torrent, Tide, Wave, and Typhoon. Note: Torrent, Tide, and Wave are canon/widely accepted fanon, but Typhoon is something me and my friends came up with. You're welcome to use the name as the fourth 501st company in your wips if you want! The names don't have to be related, but my guess would be that they often are. Companies are led by a captain.** 4 platoons make a company.
Platoons consist of 36 members and are simply referred to as the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th platoon under their company. Platoons are led by a Lieutenant. 4 squads make a platoon.
Squads consist of 9 members and are named. I don't have names for any 501st squads unfortunately, which is why those spaces are left blank in the picture. As a content creator, you'd have a LOT of freedom when it comes to these because there's so many within a battalion and it seems like they can be named just about anything. Squads are led by a sergeant.
*Numbers for this and subsequent numbers in this section were taken directly from wookiepedia
**One problem people tend to have with this is that Rex is a captain, and yet he seems to be in command of all of the 501st. I think most people have figured this out already but the clone wars writers really just threw names around willy-nilly when it came to all the military stuff. Rex should by all intents and purposes be a commander, and my personal in-universe explanation for this is that while he was skilled enough to go through ARC/command track training, he wasn't originally meant to be a commander and his CT number is what barred him from the title initially. Keeli would be another example of this.
A few comparisons just to illustrate it a bit better:
1 battalion = 4 companies = 16 platoons = 64 squads = 576 members
1 company = 4 platoons = 16 squads = 144 members
1 platoon = 4 squads = 36 members
1 squad = 9 members
Please note that these numbers do not include the officers. There would be 64 sergeants, 16 lieutenants, 4 captains, and a commander added to this number to make a total of 661 clones in any given battalion.
Now I could have just stopped here but I have a tendency to want to get way too specific in my wips so I went a little further:
Internal Battalion Assignments
To make the numbers a bit easier, this just looks at what would be found in one company, you can do the extra math if you want to know the full battalion numbers.
I tried my best to remember what kind of specialized troops showed up in the show since wookiepedia wasn't much help, and I ended up breaking these assignments down into medics, heavy gunners, ARF and tank operators, scouts, tech specialists, and standard infantry.
Medics total 16* within a company, one for each squad. Within the medical corps, they're further broken down into junior medical officers (JMO), medical officers (MO), senior medical officers (SMO), and the chief medical officer of the battalion (CMO). Any internal promotions would probably come from the CMO, maybe a SMO on occasion. When pertaining to medical issues, they do often outrank any other officer, but in combat, JMOs and MOs only hold the rank of private (underneath sergeant) and SMOs and the CMO hold the rank of major (between sergeant and lieutenant).
Heavy gunners total 16 within a company, again one for each squad. These are the clones who have been trained to use the Z-6 rotary blaster, like Hardcase and Hevy.
ARFs and other tank operators total one platoons-worth spread throughout a company, or 36 members. ARF troopers are the ones who drive the AT-RTs (the really bouncy walkers you can see used on Ryloth and Umbara) and other tank operators encompass, well, the operators of all the other ground vehicles we see used. The ratio of each of these seems like it could be fluid based on the needs of the battalion and their mission, so I didn't go too much further into this.
Scouts total two squads-worth spread throughout a company, or 16 members. To me it makes sense that one of the lieutenants within their company would specifically deal with their recon reports, simply because it's more organized and practical.
Tech specialists total one squads-worth spread throughout a company, or 9 members. Honestly this is where I grouped anything else left over, like the bomb squad members we see in the blue shadow virus episode, any slicers, etc.
Standard infantry totals the remaining 49 members in a battalion. They're strictly the fighting force on the ground. This doesn't mean that they're the only ones who do the actual fighting, just that they aren't specifically trained for any other specialization.
*These numbers and the subsequent numbers in this section were not taken from any canon source. They were calculated simply by what I thought would make sense to have.
LAAT/is and Starfighters
Again, I tend to be way too specific in my wips so not only did I go through all of the ground fighting force, but I started figuring out the some of the space forces attached to a battalion as well. This doesn't go into a ton about the Republic Navy because frankly, as soon as I read "7400 crew members on a star destroyer" I exited out of that tab cause that's a little Too Much to try to figure out, but I will cover how I think the gunships and fighter squadrons should work.
LAAT/is (gunships) total 48 per battalion, or 12 per company. However, two per company are usually held in reserve to make sure there's always something available for easy transport to/from the ground. This brings down the number to 40 per battalion, or 10 per company. Gunships take two people to man, so the total number of those pilots for a battalion is 96, or 24 for a company. There's also room for two gunners, which would bring the battalion total to 192, but from what I remember in the show the side guns rarely have someone in them, so I don't think the full 96 LAAT/i gunner positions would be filled. I also think the LAAT/i gunners could be temporarily reassigned from the main star destroyer crew (because 7400 is a LOT, they can spare 96). Wookiepedia said that the gunships could hold 30 troops for transport, but that seems like it'd be really cramped quarters. My guess is that each one would hold somewhere between 14-17 comfortably depending on how many people need transport and how many gunships are in use, which is what I kept in mind to come up with the original number of 48 for a battalion.
The Starfighter Corps consist of 5 separate squadrons, the standard* being two squadrons of Y-wings, one squadron of V-19 Torrents, one squadron of Z-95 Headhunters, and one squadron of ARC-170s. There are 12 in a squadron, plus a squad leader and two usually in reserve, so that's 15 total ships in a squadron and 75 total ships overall. Y-wings require a pilot and a gunner, so the total number of members in a battalion's starfighter corps equals 105. However, I believe some battalions could have up to double** these numbers if they're frequently in space battles, like Anakin and the 501st, or if they have a name that suggests it, like the 327th Star Corps. Squadrons seem to often be named after colors, but that isn't always the case, ie. Shadow Squadron.
*This standard isn't canon, it's just what I believe makes sense based on the number of ships types available and how frequently they are seen used in the show. The Y-wing bombers seem to be used a bit more than the rest, which is why I think there would be two squadrons of them.
**While double the number of ships is certainly possible, I figure it's more common to have three more squadrons instead of the full five so there would be two squadrons of each type of ship.
~~~
That's all I got! Like I said earlier, use whatever you like, ignore the parts you don't, it doesn't really matter to me. This system is definitely what I'm going to follow in my wips if anyone is ever curious about what's going on with those.
Hopefully this is helpful to someone out there! And if you made it this far, thanks for reading! :)
next on my list to understanding clones in the military: clone designation tags
CC = clone commander
CRC = clone regimental commander
CL = clone lieutenant
CS = clone sergeant
CT = clone trooper
ARF = advanced recon force trooper
BARC = biker advanced recon commando troopers
RC = republic commandos
ARC = advanced recon commandos
also the tags for Alphas but they’re a special case so I’ll leave them off this list
interestingly there doesnt seem to be a specific tag for captains that i can find. which is. odd. seeing as there are clones for every other tier in the heirarchy. (although what would you even do? CC is already taken. CPT?)
any of the clones can be promoted during wartime to a higher rank (or demoted i suppose) but on average anyone with these tags start out at the ‘intended’ rank
i want to say we can make an educated guess about other potential tags since the structure of the GAR seems to have been thought out prior to geonosis if these designation tags tell us anything but. i mean CRC??? the only one to use this is CRC-09/571. also what’s up with the slash instead of the dash???? it just seems odd bc promotional tags like that aren’t really used to my knowledge...... cody is still CC-2224 instead of CMC-2224 so what’s up with 71′s designation?? why specifically CRC instead of just CC?
like if logic follows we should also have CBCs (battalion commanders) and CLCs (legion commanders) but there aren’t any. so what gives
#personal#GAR wars#also like i said promotions are valid so even if you start out as a CT you can end up a commander. case in point: rex#im trying to wrap my head around it. but i am.... it's a lot of information fhjkgh
I’m curious about your OCs Deca, Flyboy, Hornet, Cobra and Jinks.
How did they get their names?
Deca - CT-2468 -- ARC Trooper Captain in Coruscant Guard, under Commander Thorn; promoted to the rank of Commander just before Thorn is sent to Scipio (19 BBY) and takes his place when Thorn is killed.
His is pretty self-explanatory, as it is based off his CT number- CT-2468. The next number in the sequence is 10, in addition to the middle two and last two numbers of his number also adding up to 10. Since he didn't want to use the name "Ten", he went with the decimal prefix for it instead.
Before I get into my pilot Clones, I just want to say my inspiration for most of them came from Top Gun. My brother and I were huge fans of the movie growing up and I just couldn't help myself at the thought of Fox being stressed over his hotshot Clone Pilots getting the job done in the most unprofessional ways possible.
Flyboy - CT-2362 -- Squadron Commander of Redtail Squadron, of the Coruscant Home Defense Fleet
He was the biggest loud-mouthed show-off of his wingmen at the academy, so he earned his name pretty quickly and couldn't ever shake it.
Hornet - CT-5757 -- Squadron Commander of Redtail Squadron, of the Coruscant Home Defense Fleet
It took Hornet a little longer to earn his nickname, but it came up pretty naturally one day when he woke up in a mood and ran through battle sims like someone had 'kicked the Hornet's nest'.
Cobra - CT-3894 -- Squadron Commander of Redtail Squadron, of the Coruscant Home Defense Fleet
Cobra was given his name due to his ruthless and unyielding nature, for his tendency to only strike with the intent to kill.
Jinks - CT-5739 -- Squadron Commander of Redtail Squadron, of the Coruscant Home Defense Fleet
Short for "Hijinks", because he was always getting into trouble he shouldn't.
