CRAZY TIPS = CRAZY FEELINGS { l.hs }
ᯓᡣ𐭩 𝙨𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙮: wherein, heeseung is a player, a fuck boy, and a rich one too which is all what y/n hates about a man. y/n in contrast is a broke college student who barely makes a living to pay up her rent and college tuition. despite years of being in the same university as heeseung, they never had any interactions until the day heeseung finally laid his eyes on y/n who works on the counter at some nightclub and started leaving her with some crazy cash tips.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 𝙥𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜: yandere!lee heeseung x tsundere!fem!reader
ᯓᡣ𐭩 𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙧𝙚: non!idol, enemies (one sided) to lovers troupe, kinda slow burn, teeth-rotting fluff, heeseung is a softie, you and enha are in the same age for the sake of the plot
ᯓᡣ𐭩 𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨: lots cursing, suggestive scenes (mdni!), fighting, drinking, smoking, mention of substances, family issues, mention of SA, display of dominance and possessiveness, heeseung is always jealous (lmk if i missed any!)
ᯓᡣ𐭩 𝙬𝙘: unknown (as of now :D)
ᯓᡣ𐭩 𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙧'𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙚: whoop whoop. wrote this au the moment i saw that video of hee drinking whiskey in a party :D man he was HOT i couldn't stop myself from making this. ALSO BIG NOTE, none of this reflect the idols mentioned in real life. this is only a FICTION and for entertainment purposes only.
𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲
the loud music and people's chaotic cheering and murmuring were the ones that welcomed heeseung and his friends, along with the mixed smell of alcohol, perfumes, and smoke from cigarettes. it was already 2:00 am but it seemed a bit more early for the people inside the club, the energy was just insane.
as they walked to find their own spot, heeseung constantly sees people making out on the spot which made him smirk a bit. his initial plan was to find someone to hook up with tonight. it was their midterm interlude after all, he needed to relax and he wanted to start by hooking up.
"i'll order us some drinks, what do you guys want?" jake remained standing while the rest of them sat at the circular couch.
"i want just want some rum." sunghoon said. jay said he wanted the same thing.
"sunoo hyung and i will just have some whiskey." jungwon followed, raising his left hand up and pointed to sunoo next to him.
"what about you, seung?" jake asked.
"just get me some scotch, please and thank you." heeseung said and jake nodded before leaving.
while jay and sunghoon was talking something about their academics, sunoo and jungwon was just chatting why their youngest, niki, recently failed his long test and have to go through intensive tutoring as of the moment.
heeseung on the other hand wandered his eyes around and when he catched a glimpse of jake on the counter, he followed him using his eyes and his breathing hitched when he saw your angelic face giving small smiles to jake as he leans in to tease you.
"come on, do you really have to work tonight? i can pay your manager so he would let you drink with me." the man in front of you insisted. you subtly gave him a 'are-you-fucking-serious' look before brushing his statement off with an awkward chuckle.
"i'm sorry sir, but we are currently short on staffs so everyone needs to play their parts." you gave him a small smile before handing him the bottles he ordered.
"oh come on, don't call me sir. don't act like you do not go to the same university as me." jake chuckled sexily which made you secretly scoff.
you have to admit, jake is attractive, hot even, but he's just way out of your league. he's hot, he's rich, he's an academic achiever, and lives almost a perfect life, plus he's a play boy which is a big no no for you. he's just everything you hate about men.
"i can't jake, i have to work. now, please do get off the counter, i have other customers to serve other than you." you said bravely and gave him a fake smile which made jake smirk. your feisty attitude just turns him on.
after successfully shooing away jake sim, you suddenly felt eyes watching you. you wandered your eyes around and you choked on air when you realize that the pair of eyes watching, and staring at you darkly was heeseung's. one of your schoolmate and friend of jake.
the way heeseung stared at you darkly made you panic. his piercing eyes never leaving you even before you saw jake put down the drinks they ordered. you're like a prey, recognized by the predator. he only diverted his gaze when jake called him, handing him his drink. you too, were nudged by your co-worker.
"you okay?" red asked. she's your co-worker, also your work buddy. you nodded and cleared your throat.
"if you're tired already, you should rest. you're about to end your shift anyways." she suggested while you nodded.
you chatted with her a bit before going to the staff room to change, get your things, and time yourself out from work. the moment you exited the club using the back door, you immediately hugged yourself due to cold. you could see the smoke coming out of your mouth as you breathe. not even the padded jackets could easily warm you up in this cold weather.
you walked through the parking lot to find your second-hand car when you saw two shadow beside your car, making out. it made you mentally scoff, out of all places, why beside yours?
it was cold and already late, you have no choice but to walk towards your car. as you finally get close to the scene, you yet again saw those familiar piercing eyes from heeseung when he watched over you while still kissing the girl in front of him. since the girl was leaning on your car, you couldn't really go without her getting off first so you coughed awkwardly.
"oh, sorry!" the girl squeeled.
finally, they stopped kissing and the girl giggled, as if she's happy that someone had just caught her making out in the parking lot. heeseung on the other hand stayed silent and watched over you intently.
"i'm sorry." you said politely as you bowed your head before moving to open the door of your car. you were about to head inside when you heard the girl murmured something.
"this car is trash, right hee?"
your eyes twitched from what the girl said. slowly, you turned to her with a small smile.
"well look who's talking, you'll just be as dirty as a trash when this man throws you away like a garbage after using you." you said before getting inside your car and starts your engine.
the girl was shocked while heeseung smirked at your attitude. without knowing, you just picked heeseung's interest, and it was the on switch for his yandere era to begin.

ʬʬ. ! LAST FRIDAY NIGHT ﹙ THINK WE KISSED ﹚
𝒏o𝓉ℯs. park jongseong with fem!reader 𖥔 ݁ enemies but secretly in love and oblivious, fluff. LIB? word count `3377 warnings. lots of cursing! unedited.
JAY VER: mutual hate f2e JAKE VER. SUNGHOON VER.
"what the fuck, piggy!" you feel jay's feet against the side of the waist before his voice reaches your ears. kicked out of bed and rolled onto the floor, that's how your mornings with jay start.
"what the hell is this!" he shouts again and when you turn to look at him you find yourself questioning the same,"what the hell is that!" a litter of pretty lipstick marks all over him, collarbones to neck to jaw to face. and keyword: lips.
"you tell me! what the hell does it look like?" if it were some other time you'd have laughed your ass off at the horrified look on his face, but the very familiar shade of color on him, the one you always wear because you're quite literally obsessed with it has you horrified as well at the realization. there's no way you did that, with park jay? no no no.
"don't tell me we-"
"i have my boxers on and you're still in that ugly fucking dress so no we did not," his words are like a shower of relief to you. however to jay, it is also something else. sure he is glad you did not do anything but that dress you have on? it's not ugly, it is everything but ugly. you look so pretty in it, like a doll and he thinks it's probably the reason why he let you kiss him all up.
"you better have something to say because i don't understand how this happened," his hands rub over the marks he can see while you sit on the floor trying to remember last night. you went to a college party, and you met jay there, and having the same group of mutual friends you remember playing drinking games. a shot of tequila when you refused to kiss jay for a dare and that's where your memory fails you.
"i don't remember," you say simply, watching jay get of bed and into the bathroom.
"i don't either so let's just call it truce and forget,"
sighing in resignation, you take a look around the room, going over to the mirror to scan yourself. there under the shadow of your ear you spot something purple, a touch and it hurt. pushing your hair out of the way, you take a closer look at it. pupils dilating upon the realization that it's a hickey. with a mortified look in your eyes, you pull down at the collar of your dress to find more. a litter of it mirroring jay's kiss marks. and when you shift on your legs to inspect the other side of your neck, you feel a sting on the skin of your thighs. no way no way please no. you pray as you lift the skirt of your dress, but it's all in vain for you find bruises on the plush of your thighs, in the shapes of handprints, one on each.
you scream. you scream scream and jay is rushing out with a towel hanging low on his waist,"what! what happened!"
there's no time to feel the heat in your cheeks at sight of his naked figure, you are too traumatized by the possibilities of the events that could have happened between you two to even acknowledge the pounding of your heart on noticing the droplets of water cascading down the valley of his chest.
you show him what you had to see and in comes a scream from him.
"oh my god, fuck off before we find more things!"
"missy piggy is all dressed up," he looked you up once, coming to a halt just a step away from where you sat at the kitchen counter turned bar. he couldn't deny you looked good though, he almost lost his breath when he spotted you across the room. there were some loopholes in this weird relationship you had and he couldn't seem to accept it. he found you attractive and he was disgusted with himself for that. out of all the fishes in the sea it just had to be you. his little weakness, the pretty dress.
you wave your hand at his face,"whatever," jay doesn't like the way you just dismiss him, closing in on you blocking your view of whichever guy you were eyeing. whichever guy was hot enough to have your attention away from him.
"you wanna play some games?" his hand goes over to circle the top of your cup, noticing the orange juice in there.
"what game?"
"truth and dare, all our friends are gathering there to play," he wasn't interested to join earlier, but watching you fixated on some guys is itching him to take you away and get your ass busy.
hours later and he's in a circle, all drunk sitting right across you. 'kiss kiss kiss!" the chants go around with the bottle stopped right between your two. if he'd been sober, he would've left the second someone proposed for a kiss but with his mind all hazy right now, all he can think about is how your lips would feel on his. if the pretty shade on them would taste as sweet as they look.
to say he was disappointed when you chose to drink it out would be an understatement. jay felt no more purpose in the game, leaving as soon as you excused yourself. with your wobbly steps you sway your way to the dance floor, almost falling over yourself before jay has his hands around you, keeping you afloat.
"watch your step, pretty," he whispers into your ear.
"pretty? what happened to piggy?" there is a slight flinch in you when you whisper back, growing conscious of the proximity.
"piggies can be pretty sometimes," his hands move lower to your hips, gripping lightly as the music changes to one of sensual hues. body moving together to the sultry notes.
"we're dancing," turning to face the rather drunk boy, you trace a finger over the exposed skin of his chest. jay's sure you can feel the fast thumping of his heart under your pretty little soft tips but honestly he couldn't care less right now. the alcohol in his brain messing with his feelings. a mushy daze of everything he's ever felt for you, from middle school to college.
"together," you breathe out staring at the plump of his lips and jay feels this weird sparkling thing where his stomach twists and turns but in a good way,"apparently," all these people around, so many attractive faces he could have latched onto yet he can't imagine himself swaying away with anyone else, it just feels wrong for some reason.
"and we hate each other," the reminder is like a fresh breeze across his fuzzy mind, no matter where he looks he can't seem to feel the hatred right now,"mhm," jay reaches out with a delicate touch, watching your dazed eyes in a trance as you scan him, muzzling into his hand when he tucks a stray strand of your hair behind your ear in a faint caress. after that it's a silence between you two, not the one where you usually think of ripping each other's hair off but perhaps one where you're thinking to eating each other's face off. at least that's all jay can think about.
you were drunk and he should have seen it coming. at some point you leave him hanging in the middle of the floor only for him to find you amidst a crowd of screams, letting it all loose on an elevated platform with a pole, right towards the front. twerking your ass off and instead of being embarrassed out of his wits jay rather feels this warm fluffy feeling. a conjured up image of a sober him driving to bars and clubs to pick up a drunk you as you shout 'baby' while running into his arms.
no what the fuck, what am i thinking. he is baffled at his own imagination. enemies to lovers trope is so not his thing. it should never be his thing. right?
"come on you need some fresh air," spotting a few guys eyeing you in the wrong way, jay is quite literally picking you up and throwing you over his shoulder before walking out the house into the backyard.
"i was having so much fun there! why did you bring me out here!" you shout, still feeling the loud music ringing in your ears.
"you were having too much fun, you needed to touch some grass," he tries shushing you, flicking lightly at your forehead.
you ignore him, too tired and used to, to bicker back,"there's a pool here?" the excitement in your voice makes him laugh, y'all have probably been sitting here for five minutes, and you've only noticed the big ass pool now. but well, with the amount of alcohol you both have in your system right now it's a miracle you're still conscious and otherwise a little sane.
"why, you wanna skinny dip?" he knows that's exactly what you would want to do, if you could. he hasn't known you for ten years for just nothing. all those fights and bickerings and make ups, he's sure he knows you more than your friends and more than you know yourself. and he's always followed you whenever you weren't following him. doing everything you did just to get a chance at annoying you.
"can we go in there?" no.
tonight he'd like to stay dry and cozy.
"it's cold, i ain't doing this," he reprimands, squinting his eyes in the distance, a look away from you to tell you he's not having it.
however it's not like you listen anyway, at least not to him.
it's like second nature at this point, running after you. be it to get on your nerves or to secretly protect you,"piggy!" he snaps up at once at the sound of you skipping down the patio. albeit almost slipping and cracking your head open on the way. jay doesn't know if he should be worried more about ending up in the hospital or getting in there with you all wet and close.
he's been in the pool with girls before but he's not been in the pool with you since you were like eleven and friends and not hit by puberty yet, in your ugly loose swim shirts and pants, hair all over in a mess with no idea about romance.
"slow down will you, i can't be bothered to drive you to medics if you break a leg or something," he whines, feeling the water soaking up the clothes against his skin as he carefully walks down the stairs leading into the pool. two steps behind with his hand reaching out to steady you incase you decide to slip again.
"try to catch me!" you yell, putting in all efforts to move as far from him as you could.
"do i look like i need to try?" his hands loop around your wrists in a moment, pulling you against his chest is a low splash. arms going around the waist as he locks eyes with yours. the palm of your hands find refuge on his chest playing with the undone buttons when the hard pounding of his heart reverberates against your skin. you're nervous, he's nervous.
"why do you hate me?" he asks.
"because you do," you answer and jay's confused. what?
"why do you hate me?" you ask him. and as expected,"because you do,"
realizing it's all a big misunderstanding, jay can't help but feel his heart race faster if that is even possible,"i don't really hate you," the pout on your lips falters his gaze, looking down to avoid his breath stopping right there and then. "neither do i," a low whisper, softly adjusting the fallen strap of your dress. he scans you over once, his little weakness, the pretty dress. no, it's you, you always know what to wear have him weak in the knees.
"your lipstick is pretty-" you look so damn pretty he wants to say, brown orbs lingering on the shine radiating off your lips.
you're both drunk, and it's probably the only time he'll be able to say it. i can do it! jay swears.
however before he can even utter a syllable, the slippery gloss of your cherry lipstick slide against his lips. feeling the plush of your lips pressing onto his own, like a step into heaven. eyes open and motionless, taking a hard time to let it sink in while you're there moving your lips, catching his bottom lip between in a gentle bite.
"pi- piggy-" when you pull away for a split second only to jump onto him, his hands immediately grabbing the back of your thighs resting them around him, trembling at the tension he feels to dive right back in to a kiss.
"shut up," you begin leaving a trail of marks starting at his neck—
that's where you scream, pulling jay out of the flashbacks. he sits on his bed, tracing his lips in a trance after you've left. he had no idea how to face you after remembering all that while you still seemed to have no clue. how he knows your lipstick tastes sweet and bitter and how you don't know that he knows that.
he takes out his phone, a faint memory of a picture. searching through his gallery is not even necessary, on the top in a grand glory he finds the photo of you perched on his lap on his bed, head tucked into his neck where one can definitely catch glimpse of your fluttering kisses.
he can't seem to recall about the hickeys on your neck, and how you got to his room. but he's sure he will in a few days. hoping you'd too until then.
for now he'll post this. there's nothing better than getting under your skin. figuratively and literally.

#ENHYPEN TROPES⋆
❝Enhypen, and tropes I can imagine them in❞ ot7 . . . fmr . . head cannon + imagines . w.c : ~150/character ꩜ ...not proofread!!...
𝐋𝐄𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐔𝐍𝐆 – brother's bestfriend
You never tried to associate yourself with your brother's friends because they seemed like people you wouldn't like to associate yourself with. One day though when you were home alone, the door burst open and the laughter of multiple people disturbed the calmness prior. You groaned to yourself, identifying the voices to be them. You saw them very rarely since they were in a different class, and slightly older than you. With a groan, you zoned out their loud voices. While reading your book, the door to your room opened softly, and you snapped your head in that direction. In your sight stood a tall man with bambi looking eyes scanning you as well. "What are you doing here?" You questioned with an arched eyebrow. "Sorry, was trying to find the bathroom." He replied, and stood there awkwardly. "Just go down two door to the right." You returned to your reading. "You're Y/n, right?" He asked. "I thought you were searching for the bathroom?" You said, not sparing him another glance. "Right." He then shut the door, but you felt slightly content with his presence in some way. Lucky to say that he visited his friend more often, and you got to see him more often too.
𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐉𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐄𝐎𝐍𝐆 – strangers to lovers
Jay would walk into the café down the street every morning to get his usual order; a cup of coffee and a bagel. Every staff knew him, and he knew them. So when he sees a new employee by the cash register, he tries to get to know you too. You greeted him like you did with every other customer, and he ordered like he always did. Jay walked over to a corner and observed the pretty scenery outside. He looked back up when you arrived. "Thanks ... ?" and that's when you realised he wanted to know your name, and that's when you noticed you lacked a name tag. In later weeks, the tense dome around you broke down, and you guys chatted while you made his usual order, realising he was a regular. "Any plans for after your shift?" He asked. "I'm just gonna lay on the sofa and watch a movie honestly." you chuckled. When you went to collect his plate and cup after he waved farewell, you saw a small slip of paper hidden under the plate. "Call me, please. xxxx - Jay"
𝐒𝐈𝐌 𝐉𝐀𝐄𝐘𝐔𝐍 – golden retriever x black cat
He saw you sitting alone during lunch time, and he invited himself to take a seat in the empty spot next to you. You sneered at him, examining him up and down with an icy glare. In contrast, he had a soft smile. "What are you doing here?" You asked with a cold tone. "You looked lonely." Jake replied, wearing a confused look. "Well, I'm not, so you can go." You dismissed him and returned to the lunch in front of you. "What class are you in?" He asked, not giving up so easily. You replied simply, and bit into your home made lunch while he looked at you from the side, and ultimately returning to his own lunch. You thought he would stop bothering you after, but you were wrong. Jake would follow you around the corridors, and later find out that the two of you had a couple of lessons together. As time went on, you seemed to not mind his company, finding it more pleasant than being alone, realising that you maybe needed someone to fill that lonely side you always showed.
𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐍 – friends to lovers
You guys would be in the same friend group, but not the closest, you had your friends, and he had his. When he fist realised he had romantic feelings towards you, he started getting distant, even though something inside fo him yearned to be close to you. That, of course was noticed by both you and the other people around you. The friendgroup had decided to go to the arcade, and while they were there he did his best to not look your way as much as possible, but that was easier said than done. He saw how much you eyed that single teddy bear in a claw machine, and he made it his mission to get it for you. You decided to approach him to ask why he was becoming so distant, but started it off with a normal conversation, "Are you really going to use this machine?" You asked him, your eyes scanning the moles on his face. "Yeah." He scoffed playfully, and you stood beside him, watching him play multiple rounds until he finally caught the teddy. "Take it." He shoved the plush into your arms before walking away with a flushed face as you stood there dumbfoudned, totally forgetting the reason you walked over to him to begin with.
𝐊𝐈𝐌 𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐎𝐎 – admirer from afar
Sunoo is shy, and he only ever watched and admired you from afar. The only times he ever saw you up close was when the two of you walked by each other in the hallways or when going to your assigned seats in the classroom. Even then, you'd smile at him, and he'd smile back, just that he would be a mess on the inside. He never ever spoke to you since he thought of you as someone too unapproachable. One day, when he was talking about you to his friends during break time, "She's just so pretty, and smart, and perfect!" His friends had gotten tired of his hopelessness and suggested that he should send you a love letter on valentine's day. "What, why?" He panicked, the embarrassment showing on his rosy cheeks. In the end, they convinced him to do it. February neared closer, and Sunoo arrived extra early just to slip his note into your locker. He looked at both sides, and then behind him and behind the lockers just to make sure he was alone. When the coast was clear, he carefully pushed the paper under the metal, but heard footsteps around the corner. "What are you doing?" It was you.
𝐘𝐀𝐍𝐆 𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐖𝐎𝐍 – class president x new student
"hello everyone! I'm y/n, and I'm new. I hope we all ca get along well!" You greeted, standing in front of the class, anxiously playing with the hem of your skirt. "Alright, since she's new, Jungwon, you will show her around the school." The teacher said, and sat down in her chair, nodding towards a boy with big clear eyes who nodded his head back in confirmation. After class, it was a free period, and you quickly walked out of the classroom to explore on your own, since you guessed Jungwon wouldn't show you around at all. "Hey, wait up!" You heard a male voice calling for you, causing you to pause in your tracks and turn around. To your surprise it was that boy from earlier. You waited for him to catch up to you, and when he did, he asked, "Ready for a tour, y/n?" "Sure, why not.", you shrugged, and the two of you walked from one hallway to another. After what seemed to be the end, you decided to ask the question you were wondering about the whole time. "Why did you show me around?" It sounded stupid, that's what you realised right after uttering it. "I'm the class president, so it's kind of my job." He explained, and you sighed, now wondering if he was kind because he had to. "Don't worry though, you seem nice, and I'd like to get to know you more."
𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐌𝐔𝐑𝐀 𝐑𝐈𝐊𝐈 – enemies to lovers
At first, Riki thought it was all a joke when he saw you sneer at him, and so he returned the gesture, but to you, you just never liked him without knowing why. It continued on like that for most of the year. You two would always bicker and compete during most classes, and he would throw paper planes at the back of your head just because he found your reaction funny, so he continued. You would complain about him to your friends daily, while he would tell his friend how funny you were. "Ugh, I hate him! Why is he so stupid?!" You groaned. "Y/n is so funny! Did you guys see how angry she got during English?" Riki laughed, clearly enjoying the memory. The first half of the year passed, and you were finally on break. The idea was to rest, but an obstacle was made. You and your family had gotten in a pretty rough fight, and you decided to leave the house to get fresh air, but on your walk, Riki spotted you. He immediately saw your tears and held back the rude comments he was about to say. "Hey, are you crying? What happened?" His voice was sincere, and you broke down crying again, telling him everything. "Hmm. Let's go to that café to cheer you up." Riki comforted, rubbing your back. At school, he was kinder as well, as well as hanging out with you more.
Reblogs are much appreciated!!

Skating on thin ice
♡ 𝒥 — [ 양정원 ] ⊹₊⟡⋆ jungwon ── .✦ f!reader ⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ . . . 𝒲𝒸 2.1𝒦
──── eyes full of 𝓆𝓊ℯ𝓈𝓉𝒾ℴ𝓃𝓈, we walk past eachother, pretending there’s no 𝒸ℴ𝓃𝓃ℯ𝒸𝓉𝒾ℴ𝓃 . . . { a lot of teasing, frenemies to lovers, fluff, crack, low self esteem, highschool drama, romance, bullying, self doubt, light angst? }
────୨ৎ────
“Y/n, I swear if I have to ask you to finish your homework once more, your phone will be on the side of the road!” Your mother yelled from across the kitchen.
Highschool has been on your back this year, everything becoming more and more difficult as the days fly by. You were never a math girl—science, sure. But math? Never. Definitely your worst subject. Nothing really ever made sense, well sometimes it did, but only in budget related stuff—of course you were only good in budgeting, shopping addict.
To make things better—Yang Jungwon, a boy who transferred just a year ago, would always pick on you for your math grades each time he’d see your note from the corner of his nosey eye. If you knew better, you’d make fun of him too—his science grade was trashy, while yours were always colourful.
He never meant any harm from it, he only does it because of the time you humiliated him in PE class when you got higher than him in the beep test, infront of all of his friends who were watching from outside your gym class. Although, your sensitive self cannot handle any insults towards your grades—especially when you’re trying all you’ve got—and still getting so low.
“Another 5? Comon now y/nnie, we’re IB students! You shouldn’t be getting this low now… didn’t you want to become a doctor?” Jungwon whispered in your ear from behind. You quickly yanked his head from your shoulder, making him jump back into place onto his seat behind you. ‘Do you ever get tired of making fun of me? Go focus on your own things.’ ‘I can’t focus on my own things when you have too many flaws…’ he said as he gave you a wink and plopped a lolly into his mouth.
As you were walking to the bus to go home, you were stopped again—by jungwon. “What do you want now, jungwon?” You said in an annoyed tone. “Hey, what’s with the attitude… I’m not here to say anything mean, unfortunately. My friend Sunghoon told me to ask you if you did ice skating, he said he saw your instagram profile and you had something about it in your bio” You were obsessed with figure skating, you claimed that you knew how to skate—when in reality, you fell the last time you tried it and now too scared to try it again. Yet, you still had it in your bio and made it seem as if you were a skater…
As a child, you didn’t do much sports like most people. You wanted to do taekwondo—too boyish for your parents. You wanted to do basketball—lost passion for it after 4th grade. You did gymnastics/dance—wasn’t as flexible as your other friends and got discouraged, slowly growing out of it. Now as a teenager, you felt the need to know a sport, but you knew that it’s only good to be actually amazing at a sport if you started it when you were young.
You went to a sports school and you were one of the only ones who never tried out for anything, too scared of people being better than you because of them doing the sports from a young age. —— “Y/n? Hello? Are you even listening to me? You loser… why are you zoning out at this time? Don’t make me scare you out of it!” Yelped the boy right next to you. “No! Okay? Get out of my face jungwon! I don’t know what you’re saying but whatever it is, no!” You forgot what he even said—too lost in thought to care. It was your stop so you had to hop off anyway.
Days pass by, it’s depressing during winter, nothing to do, especially on Christmas break. Suddenly, a loud, aggressive knock on your door catches your attention. Coming from behind it, “y/n! Y/n! Comon! I know you’re there, I can hear your grumpy sighs from here!”
As you opened the door, you were welcomed by his huge smile—jungwon’s. “Now, what on Earth are you doing here? Is it to tell my mom that-“ as you were about to finish your sentence, you spot your mom and another woman—who seems to be jungwon’s mother—walk from the driveway to your front door.
“Y/n, please welcome our guests with respect and go get the kettle ready. Now miss Yang, what do you prefer? Tea or coffee?” Said your mother before you were even able to process what was happening.
Jungwon stared at you with the biggest grin on his face—as if he planned this from the start. He stayed behind you in your house as you walked towards your kitchen, being the good daughter you are and doing what your mother telling you to do.
“Okay, so, care to tell me what you’re doing here? Did you convince your mother to become friends with mine so that you could annoy me in my own house aswell?” You asked him, avoiding eye contact at all costs—because the last thing you needed, was to add something on his list of “things to hate on y/n”.
As you turned on the kettle, filling it up with water, he responded with a more serious tone than usual “no seriously this time, they saw eachother at the supermarket near our school and recognized eachother from social media.. I didn’t believe it either when I saw my mom pull into your drive way.” How did he even know it was your house.. “and don’t ask me how I know it’s your house, you practically run off the bus and make it to your door before it can even driving.”
As Jungwon sat at the kitchen table, his usual smirk returned. “Anyway, back to the real question. Do you ice skate or not? Sunghoon won’t stop bugging me about it.”
You sighed, suddenly regretting every choice that led to you putting “figure skater enthusiast” in your Instagram bio. Avoiding his gaze, you muttered, “No, I don’t actually ice skate.”
Jungwon’s eyebrows shot up, his teasing grin reappearing. “Wait—what? But your bio—”
“I know, okay?” you snapped, crossing your arms defensively. “I just… I like watching figure skating, and I wanted to seem interesting, okay? People who are good at sports always seem so… cool. And I’m not good at anything.”
His grin faded, replaced by an unusually soft expression. “Hey, don’t say that. You’re good at plenty of things.”
You scoffed. “Name one.”
He leaned back, pretending to think. “Well, for starters, you’re great at making me laugh. Even when you’re mad. And you crushed me in that beep test, remember?”
“That doesn’t count,” you muttered, though your lips twitched upward. “I’m still not good at sports. Or anything else, really.”
Jungwon rolled his eyes. “Stop putting yourself down, y/n. You’re good at science, better than I’ll ever be. And honestly? Half the school’s scared of your sarcastic comebacks. That’s a skill.”
You couldn’t help but laugh. “Right. Sarcasm queen—what a talent.”
“Hey, it’s better than lying in your Instagram bio,” he shot back, smirking again. “But seriously, if you want to learn to ice skate, I can ask Sunghoon to help. He’s a pro.”
Your face flushed. “No way. That’s way too embarrassing.”
Jungwon leaned closer, a teasing glint in his eye. “What, afraid he’ll fall for you when he sees how graceful you are on the ice?”
“Shut up, Jungwon!” you said, shoving his shoulder, though you couldn’t stop the smile spreading across your face.
“Fine, fine,” he said, raising his hands in mock surrender. “But for the record, you don’t have to be good at sports to be cool. And you definitely don’t need a fake bio to impress anyone.”
You blinked, caught off guard by his sincerity. “Thanks, Jungwon.”
“Don’t mention it,” he said, popping another lolly into his mouth. “Just don’t expect me to stop teasing you anytime soon. That’s what friends are for.”
Friends? The word lingered in your mind, leaving a strange warmth in its wake. Maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t so bad after all.
As the days went on, Jungwon started acting… differently. It wasn’t immediate, but you noticed. The sharp teasing comments he usually threw your way softened, replaced by subtle jokes that didn’t sting as much. He even started helping you with your math homework after class, though he made it clear it was only because he “couldn’t stand watching you struggle so much.”
You weren’t sure what to make of it. Was this some elaborate scheme to catch you off guard? Or had he genuinely decided to be nice? Either way, you couldn’t help but feel a little flustered by how much time he suddenly spent around you.
It was late on a snowy Thursday afternoon when it happened. You were sitting on a bench outside the school, waiting for the bus. The air was crisp, your breath visible as you tucked your hands into your coat pockets. Jungwon appeared out of nowhere, plopping down next to you, his usual lolly in his mouth.
“Waiting for the bus again? You know, one day you’re going to freeze to death out here,” he said, nudging you with his elbow.
“Thanks for the concern,” you replied dryly, though you couldn’t help the small smile tugging at your lips.
He tilted his head, studying you for a moment. “You look tired.”
“Wow, such a compliment,” you said, rolling your eyes. “Long day, that’s all.”
“Bet you’re overthinking something again,” he said casually, leaning back on the bench.
You hesitated. “Maybe. You’re being weirdly nice lately, and I don’t know why. It’s kind of throwing me off.”
Jungwon glanced at you, his expression unreadable for once. “Weirdly nice? Wow, thanks. I didn’t realize I was such a villain before.”
“You kind of were,” you teased, though your voice was quieter this time. “But seriously. Why are you being… like this? Did you get bored of making fun of me or something?”
He chuckled, shaking his head. “You’re so dense sometimes, y/n.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” you asked, frowning.
He turned to face you fully, the teasing glint in his eyes replaced by something softer—something you couldn’t quite place. “It means… maybe I just like spending time with you. Maybe I like seeing that little smile you try to hide when you think I’m being funny. And maybe I realized I didn’t want you to think I only know how to annoy you.”
Your heart stuttered. For a second, you forgot how to breathe. “Jungwon… what are you saying?”
He sighed, his breath fogging up in the cold air. “I’m saying.. just, never mind—see you later y/n!” were the last thing he said before he left—your bus arriving at the same time.

👾he fell harder: yang jungwon
pairing: jungwon x afab!reader word count: 5.7k
synopsis: jungwon and you have always been competitors from children to adulthood, mostly when it came to gaming. so when the gaming club you both are apart of joins a competition, the two of you are put on the same team…
genre: gamer!won, gamer!reader, enemies to lovers
warnings: stupidly cute wonnie, swearing, gaming fun, a lot fluffly towards the end ♡
“Okay everyone, come collect your room keys and head to your respective rooms until you are called back down for practice. We will select your team members then.” Heeseung, your game club manager, yelled at the top of his lungs while standing on the hotel's lobby chair.
The professor in charge of this little miniature work/college/vacation clapped his hands twice to signal everyone to line up for their room keys.
“Hopefully I get a room with a balcony!” you rolled your eyes and sighed at the annoying voice in your ear.
You slightly turned to look at Jungwon, a smile spread wide on his face.
He wasn’t even speaking to you, but the fact he had to stand RIGHT NEXT to you when there’s a whole lobby full of other college students in your club he could be standing by.
You finally received your room key from Heeseung, and Jungwon got his right after.
“Y/N! What room do you have?” he cutely asks, trying to peak over your shoulder at the room number on the paper.
You scrunch your nose at him as you turn the paper away from him, “None of your business Yang Jungwon!” You retort, shoving your room key and paper into your jacket pocket.
Jungwon mimics your facial expression adding in his nasty side eye.
Heeseung calls everyone to head to their rooms, and to your dislike, Jungwon was right behind you as you got into the elevator.
“Oh? Going up?” he teased, as the other students filled in behind him.
You ignored him, watching as another student pressed the fourth-floor button. Silently blessing that kid for doing so that is why Jungwon couldn’t see which floor you were on. Because god, if he knew what floor you were on…the ways he would annoy you.
Your heart raced faster at each stop and not seeing Jungwon get off the elevator.
Maybe he was a few floors up?
Finally, the fourth floor was reached, you quickly stepped out, not realizing Jungwon was right behind you.
Jungwon couldn’t help but smile, his hands sliding down into his jeans pockets as his eyes searched for his room number, stopping at his door and seeing you stop at yours.
“No way,” he laughed, making you jump, “Neighbors again for the week!”
You slowly glared at him, making a mental note to unplug your hotel room phone the minute you got inside.
Quickly slapping the room key to the door and hearing it unlock, you rush yourself inside, locking the door and the hard bolt lock for safekeeping.
Dropping your backpack and suitcase to the floor, you fell onto the bed, your face going into the sheets as your favorite baseball hat fell from your head.
The vibrations of your phone pulled you out of your almost nap, your hand reaching into your pocket and pulling the device out.
It was a text from your best friend.
You didn’t even have to explain yourself to her, just your smiley face alone was enough for her to place the puzzle pieces together.
Locking your phone and dropping it by your face and rolling onto your back as you stare up at the ceiling.
It wasn’t always like this with Jungwon, being enemies. You actually have known him your entire life.
You grew up in the same neighborhood, his house being directly across the street from yours. Your parents became friends quickly after they moved into the house across from yours. Your mothers both ended up becoming pregnant around the same time just added to the friendship your families have. What was icing on the cake was you being born a week after Jungwon.
Your mothers always arranged play dates and was not only an excuse for the two of you to grow up as best friends, but a way for them to spend time together. Same with your dads.
The amount of cookouts the families would throw together. You couldn’t even count on your hands and feet with how many times you’ve seen the Yang’s backyard.
It wasn’t just the play dates, your parents made sure you and Jungwon attended the same daycare after they returned to work and even enrolled you both at the same preschool. Your parents would even have the two of you take bubble baths together as infants, and they have pictures to prove it.
Your family was always at their house or them at yours. Heck, even Jungwon’s older sister was tired of seeing you around so often. Not like you could have helped it.
Your friendship with Jungwon slowly started to change once you got into elementary school when the fight to be top of the class with good grades was introduced.
Jungwon and you have always been competitive, even before elementary school. With toys, drawing, board games with the family, and even the stupid little games toddlers play like seeing who can run faster or drink their orange juice faster and not get sick.
Just the competitiveness got worse once grades got involved, and it didn’t stop there. Family nights with board games got worse. Rushing to see who can finish their homework first and get the least amount of questions wrong. Fighting to be at the top of the class. Sports. Band. Taekwondo. You name it, you both probably got competitive over it. Even getting into the same middle and high school was a competition.
It drove your friendship apart halfway through elementary school, and you’ve been enemies since.
But the god giving fate your families have for the two of you to finally makeup, you both were accepted into the same college. You groaned after finding out from your mother that he was also accepted. But once you moved into the dorms, you were happy to find out his dorm was on the opposite side of the campus. Plus both your majors were two separate things, so seeing him was slim.
But your happiness soon faded after you walked into the video game club and saw his shit-eating grin staring back at you with his Nintendo Switch in his hands as a pokémon battle song played through its speakers.
Honestly, you should have known he would also join the gaming club. You both grew up as gamers after all. If there wasn’t a board game or a handheld console in your hands, it was the PlayStation or the gaming laptop or PC.
You didn’t realize how much time had passed when a knock came to your door.
“Y/N,” it was Jungwon, “Heeseung just texted me, we are meeting downstairs in ten,” you rolled your eyes, forgetting how close Heeseung and Jungwon were, “Just wanted to let you know because I am heading down first.”
You quickly jumped from the bed, pulling your hat back on your head and your phone into your pocket, double-checking that you had the room key, and busted out the door.
You looked down both sides of the hallway, seeing Jungwon’s grin as the elevator door closed.
“Shit!” you scoffed, eyes then catching the door to the stairs.
You quickly ran down them, thanking whatever God gave you your athletic ability as you finally reached the lobby floor, hands pushing the metal on the door open, rushing through, and seeing Jungwon step out of the elevator at the same time.
He made eye contact with you for a split second before the both of you made a full sprint to the middle of the lobby where Heeseung was standing.
“Woah woah woah!!!” Heeseung yelled, holding both hands up to save himself in case you both knocked him down.
Heeseung held his hand to his heart once the two of you made a complete stop.
“Can you two let go of this never-ending fight?” Heeseung took a deep breath, standing back up straighter. Eyes looking between the two of you.
You squinted your eyes at Jungwon as he gave back the same look.
“Or not,” Heeseung sighed, dropping himself into the nearest seat, “At least sit-down or something.”
One by one the rest of the students piled into the lobby, Yunjin linking her arm with yours.
“Okay, everyone!” Heeseung yelled, standing back on the same chair as earlier, “We will put you guys into teams now!”
“Can I be on your team, Heeseung Hyung?!” one of the male students yelled from the back, causing the crowd to laugh.
Heeseung smirked and ran a hand through his hair, “It’s because I’m the best gamer right?” A couple of female students cooed out an “ahhh” as his reaction. You had to admit, Heeseung was a very good-looking man and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t have a tiny crush on him. He was indeed the best gamer in the club, hinting at the reason he’s the manager in the first place.
“I am just kidding, you guys are all the best which is why you’ve made it this far in this competition.” Heeseung gave another smirk as he looked around at the students.
You couldn’t help but smile up at him. But your smile didn’t go unnoticed by Jungwon.
His eyes stared at you from across the crowd of his club members, watching as you made heart eyes at his best friend while he was standing right beside him.
“Hyung,” Jungwon said, catching Heeseung’s attention.
“Right!” Heeseung continued, “Unfortunately, everyone has already been put into teams, and we have enough people to be put into ten teams of two. Once your team is called, please meet up with each other and discuss your plan for this week's competition.”
“Hopefully we are a team! We always fuck shit up as a team!” Yunjin whispered. You nodded, praying to be paired with her. The two of you always kill it at video games together. You’re so happy that she was not only your roommate, but also a fellow club member after you met.
A clipboard was handed to him and started to read off the names of each team.
Yunjin unfortunately wasn’t paired with you and was put on a team with the male student who asked to be with Heeseung.
Finally, your name was called…
“Y/N and Jungwon.”
Your jaw clenched as your eyes found Jungwon’s. You expected him to have his normal shit-eating grin, only to see he was staring back at you, a completely blank face. No expression whatsoever.
The rest of the teams were called and placed into their teams.
“Okay!” Heeseung clapped his hand against the clipboard, “Get into your team and raise your hand if you have any questions!”
Your hand flew into the air, standing on your tippy toes to make sure you were seen.
“Yes, Y/N?” Heeseung nervously asked, already knowing what the issue was.
“Can I switch teams?”
“Ahhh…” Heeseung glanced down at Jungwon who was mid-rolling his eyes at you. Jungwon felt his eyes on him, slowly glancing at his hyung, “Unfortunately the teams were randomly picked, and cannot be changed. It’s the competition rules, I’m sorry.”
You dropped your hand to your side, feeling defeated but also understanding.
This competition wasn’t meant to be fair. The whole point was being paired up with different people and going against other students from other colleges was it to be a challenge.
Heeseung slowly climbed down from the chair, making his way towards his partner.
Jungwon slowly walked up to you, his shit-eating grin finally making an appearance, “Hi teammate.”
“Fuck off, Won.” You sighed, crossing your arms as you started to walk away from him.
“That’s not very nice,” Jungwon smirked as he kept up with your pace, “We are teammates, gotta play nice.”
You stopped in front of the elevator, finger pressing the up button, “Jungwon, I’ve spent my whole life with you, can I please have some space?”
Jungwon glanced up as if he were thinking about it, “No.”
The doors opened and you stepped in, Jungwon right on your heels.
“Besides,” he said, pulling his phone from his pocket and checking the time, “We find out what the first game is tomorrow, want to practice?”
“No thanks, Yunjin and I are going to play Overwatch tonight,” you said without hesitation, leaving Jungwon wide-eyed as you stepped out of the elevator onto your floor, “Besides,” you mocked him, “We will start practicing tomorrow.”
—
You sat in the corner of the gaming cafe that was rented out for your club for the whole week.
You twisted around in the chair, eyes landing on Jungwon as he dropped into the chair beside you, his arms filled with snacks.
“You still like orange soda and candy right?” He set the soda and oranges flavored bag of candy in front of you.
The ache you felt in your heart while looking at the soda and candy made you a little bit sad.
Did he remember? After all these years he still never forgot your favorite snacks from when you were children?
You looked up at him as he opened his can of orange soda, “What? I know you’re staring at me.”
“You remembered?”
Jungwon looks at you, giving a small nod, “I never forgot.”
You glanced back down at your snacks, hands finally reaching to open the candy bag.
A smirk danced on Jungwon’s face as he took a sip of his soda and let out a small chuckle.
The soft feeling you just felt went away instantly, reminding you that Jungwon was no longer your friend but indeed your enemy.
“You annoy me so much, Yang Jungwon.”
His chuckle only continued, “What? You act like we never used to take bubble baths together as infants or something.”
“Shut up,” you snapped, pulling your baseball hat down to cover your eyes, “Just eat your snacks.”
Finally, once everyone was seated with their teammate, the official announcer of the competition came by and announced the first game round was League of Legends.
“The way this competition will work is we will have multiple rounds of each game, whichever team hits the first ten slots with their wins using the bracket method, will move on to the next round. Each practice day for the games will be two days.” The announcer explained the rules, and once everyone understood, he left to go to another school's cafe.
Jungwon cracked his fingers and his neck, stretching out his arms and pulling himself closer to the table, “LOL is way too easy, we’ll make it to the next round for sure.”
You nodded, also doing small stretches before moving yourself closer.
Jungwon and you have always been smart with strategy, attack, and defense games. Mostly since the two of you have had to use these three things with your self-competition.
The first practice day went in a flash. You rubbed your eyes and you dragged your feet to your room, unlocking the door and trailing in.
You wanted nothing but to shower, order food, and then go to bed. But being a gamer, and having friends who are gamers, wouldn’t let that happen so easily.
With a quick shower and food on the way, you sat at the desk with your gaming laptop open, joining your friends' discord call.
“Y/NINNEEE!!” Huening Kai sang through the mic as he saw your username pop into the call.
“Hello hello~” You sang back, “Hope you aren’t missing me too much in Bio.”
Kai scoffed, “As if, the class is a lot quieter now.”
“So was this call before Y/N joined,” Beomgyu teased, but then a soft sigh left his lips when Yunjin’s username joined the call.
“Wow, can’t believe you’re on a call without me!?!” she gasped.
“Oh gross, who invited you in here?!” Beomgyu groaned, his side eye being felt through the mic.
“It’s an open voice chat, asshole, plus I am ALWAYS invited in here!” she spat back.
You giggle at your best friend's banter, making you miss being back on campus.
You decided to open up League of Legends, better to get more practice in before the first round.
“Ugh! League?!” Beomgyu said disgustedly, “Why!?”
You roll your eyes, “Because it’s the first game we are playing for the competition Gyu.”
“Y/N, lemme in so I can practice too.” Yunjin hummed, “And anyways, you act like you were even invited to play?”
Beomgyu chuckled, “Don’t we always play games together? Isn’t that the point of being in a call?”
“Hyung, we are literally playing phasmophobia right now. Kai sassed, “We need ONE MORE piece of evidence to find the ghost.”
“But I am scaredddddd” Gyu pouted.
You once again found yourself laughing at your friends, only for your smile to fade when you see Jungwon’s username pop up on the left side of your discord showing you had a message from him.
You opened it seeing it was just him asking for an invite to the league match, which you ignored. You already practiced enough with him today and will all day tomorrow as well. He can deal with it.
Jungwon slouched down in his chair, staring at the discord message he sent you, debating if he should send you a call instead, but stopped at the sound of your laughing and hearing Huening Kai’s name come from your mouth.
Jungwon sighed, you were clearly with your friends.
—
The second day of practice also flew by quickly, the first competition day being finally here.
The competition was being held at a small center, just big enough for the gaming clubs and the officials.
Your team was placed in the third round of brackets, so there was plenty of time to get your nerves under control.
You sat in the bleachers, watching the current game on the massive screen in the middle of the room that was filled with each player's screen.
“There you are,” Jungwon said, flicking his index finger to your hat and sitting beside you, “You ready?”
You shrugged, “We practiced enough, I was confident until watching the way some of the teams from other schools play.”
Jungwon nodded, “Yeah they are good, but we are better.”
You looked at him, his eyes slowly finding their way to yours as well, “You’re competitive through and through aren’t you?”
He smiled so wide his cute dimples you loved so much as kids made their appearance, his ego also coming through, “Well yeah, of course! I am literally the best gamer in our club.”
You rolled your eyes, dropping your chin into your hands, “I can’t stand you.”
“I hear that often.” He teased, reaching up and taking your hat off your head.
“Hey! Give it back!”
“Since when did you start wearing hats?” Jungwon asked, placing the hat on his head, “How do I look?”
“It brings me luck! Now give it!”
You snatched it from him, placing it back on your head.
“Damn,” he hissed, “Didn’t bring you enough luck since you got stuck with me as your teammate.”
Jungwon stretched his legs out and leaned back on his hands, releasing a sigh and shaking his head.
All you could do was stare at him, you struck a nerve with him.
The final round ended, calling for the next bracket of players to make their way to the gaming area.
“Come on,” Jungwon stood up, sliding his hands in his pockets, “Let’s kick some ass so we can go back to the hotel.”
You studied him and his body language, this wasn’t like the normal Jungwon you knew.
He sat quietly in his chair as he placed his headphones over his ears and set his mic up properly to his liking.
You tried to focus on the monitor before you, but the tension was high between you and your teammate. You already knew being on the same team as him was going to be hard, you just didn’t expect this.
The announcer started the game, and your focus narrowed in.
Jungwon’s whole demeanor changed right back into the competitive boy you knew the moment the game started.
Before you knew it, you and Jungwon were being crowned as the victors of the first day, moving on to the next round.
—
The gaming cafe went larger as the teams from your school who didn’t make it past the first round were sent home.
The second round was Overwatch, which sent you and Yunjin looking at each other from across the cafe from the excitement.
Since Overwatch is a six-player team, two other teams will be put together for this round.
The first and second day of practice came and went. Your confidence boosts knowing this next round will be a piece of cake.
You jumped onto your gaming PC, loading up overwatch and fixing to send Yunjin an invite when your phone vibrates, receiving a call from Jungwon. You ignored the call, hovering over Yunjin’s discord username when a string of texts spams your phone.
Jungwon made his way inside your hotel room, pushing his chair with his laptop and snacks in it.
“We can’t be up too late you know,” you raised a brow at him, “We have to be at the center early.”
Jungwon shrugged, setting up his laptop beside yours, “We can play for about an hour or so.”
Jungwon watched as you sat down beside him, pulling your headset over your ears.
His heart raced to see you in your cute pink sweatpants and black hoodie, your hair pulled back into a messy bun.
His palms got clammy from the sudden nervousness that washed over him. He’s known you since birth and sees you as a good rival, why is he so nervous over you right now?
Maybe it’s because all Jungwon wants to do is confess everything he’s been hiding all these years.
That he hopes being on this team with you can rekindle what was broken and win you back, but so far it hasn’t worked.
He opens his mouth to say something, just to close it just as quickly, and sets his eyes on his laptop screen.
As the overwatch game went on, the more friendly the both of you became with each other. With small jokes and Jungwon reaching over to press random keys on your laptop just for you to swing his hand out the way as you laugh.
God, it made his heart race even more. To finally feel like things were back in place.
You had to admit you enjoyed this moment. It felt like you actually had your childhood best friend back.
But how long would this moment actually last? Until you got back on campus for the rivalry just to start again?
You cleared your throat, snapping Jungwon’s attention to you, “It’s late, I think you should leave.”
Jungwon’s smile faded, nodding softly as he gathered his things, leaving you alone in the room.
—
Your overwatch team left the gaming area cheering. You’ve made it to the final round.
Yunjin’s and even Heeseung’s teams were knocked out early on in the day. Which made you sad to see your best friend go.
Heeseung was stuck there since You and Jungwon were the only team left from your club still in the game, which surprised you that Heeseung was knocked out. He was the best gamer you knew.
The final contestants that remained, pulled you against your will to a bar to party.
Both you and Jungwon weren’t social butterflies, but Jungwon was able to blend in with the other students perfectly fine.
You, on the other hand, were slowly inching your way closer to the front entrance, making your sweet escape.
Tucking your hands into your jacket pockets, you slowly made your walk back to the hotel, thinking you finally got some peace until you heard the scuffling of shoes running after you.
“Y/N!!”
You rolled your eyes, you just can’t get away from him, can you?
“What, Jungwon?” you sigh, walking a bit faster.
“Where are you going? I noticed you were gone.”
“Back to the hotel, obviously. Please go away.”
Jungwon could sense something was…off.
“Hey,” his voice filled with concern as he wrapped his hand around your forearm, “Y/N what’s wrong?”
You shook your arm from his grip, staring daggers at him.
Jungwon dropped his arms at his side, raising his eyebrows at you, “What? Why are you angry with me now?”
You groaned, “Because! You won’t leave me alone!”
Jungwon scoffed, “Maybe I want to spend time with you? With my teammate? Is that so bad? We literally kicked ass today, yet you’re upset with me?”
“Yes! You’ve been acting more friendly than normal with me lately! Not your usual teasing me and showing off like you’d always do!”
Jungwon narrowed his brows at you, very much confused, “You hate me when we are rivals, and now you hate me for trying to be friends with you? Pick a fucking struggle Y/N.” he shoved his hands into his jean jacket pockets, twisting the hand warmers with his fingers as a distraction.
You laughed, “Why are you even trying to be friends with me anyway?! Everything is just going to go back to normal once we step foot back on campus! So why?! All you have done is suffocate me since we’ve been here!” you took a deep breath, rubbing your fingertips at your temples, “I was so looking forward to having a somewhat relaxing time here with Yunjin as my teammate and us as normal rivals but good lord my luck has actually been shitty like you stated the other day.”
Jungwon licked his bottom lip as he stared down at his sneakers, trying to keep his eyes dry, “I asked Heeseung to put us on a team together.”
You looked at him confused, your body relaxing a little, “What?”
Jungwon looks back up at you, his eyes glossed over, “I asked Heeseung to pair us up. The plan was originally to have everyone draw names from a bowl but I…” he looks away from you, staring off down the street, “I asked him to just pair people up and make it seem like it was random and to just give me you.”
Snow started to fall from the sky, slowly collecting in his soft dark hair.
“Why…?” you softly whispered.
Jungwon chuckled, reaching a hand to scratch his face as if it would help him find the right words, “Because I wanted to rekindle our friendship. I wanted to leave this competitiveness behind us. To fix what got broken, Y/N, it’s my fault why things got the way they are now.”
You didn’t know what to say, so you stood there, continuing to listen to him.
“I thought it was just us having fun, just two kids being stupid until it got to my head. I enjoyed winning. I enjoyed the praise from everyone. And because of that, our little games turned into hatred. To us being enemies. It’s my fault that I let go of our friendship. I kept this rivalry going for all these years because it was the only way I could keep you in my life.”
You looked down at the ground, your hat covering him out of your sight completely.
Jungwon took a deep breath, “I miss you. So fucking much. I wanted this trip to bring you back to me. That’s why I tried so hard. I wasn’t trying to suffocate you, that’s the last thing I want.”
His footsteps got closer to you, and by habit, you clasped your fingers on your hat bill, pulling it down as you looked even further away.
“Y/N, look at me please.”
You were scared too, scared to look at him and he sees how much you’ve also missed him. That you were blinded by the rivalry into thinking you hated him. You wanted your best friend back, but did you deserve him?
Suddenly you felt the pull of your hat being taken. Jungwon’s fingers lift the bill up exposing your face.
You made eye contact with him not even for a second before his free hand cupped your jaw and pressed his lips to yours.
Jungwon pulled your body closer to him, deepening the kiss as his tongue pressed against your lips to allow it in, sliding it against your own tongue.
Your hand gripped the openings of his jacket, holding on for dear life as your head spun.
The last thing you expected tonight was to make out with your best friend as the snow fell.
But it was romantic nonetheless.
The sounds of a car honking on the street pulled you two back to reality.
You jumped away from Jungwon, wrapping your jacket around your body.
Jungwon smiled, placing your hat back on your head, pulling the bill down way too far in a way to tease you.
“I am also in love with you, Y/N.” Jungwon didn’t expect him confessing his feelings to you would be exactly like this, but what better way than right now as he’s teasing you like old times?
Once Jungwon’s hand was gone from your head you looked up at him, trying to make sure you heard what he said correctly.
Jungwon rubbed his thumb against your cheek, “I have been in love with you for as long as I can remember,” he tucked his bottom lip between his teeth and then released it along with a sigh, “I’ve loved you even as kids. For some reason, I always knew I loved you, and as the years went on, I only came to understand my feelings for you more and more.”
Jungwon slid his hand from your face down to your hand, taking it in his own, “That's another reason I asked Heeseung to pair me with you. I wanted to apologize for letting you go, for choosing the competitive life over the one we could have had together if I never let you go. If I told you from the start how I felt.”
Before you could say anything, the partying students finally left the bar, their loud voices echoing over to you and Jungwon, causing him to drop his hand to his side, taking a few steps away.
“Let’s go, we have a long couple of days ahead of us.”
The walk back to the hotel was quiet.
—
The last and final round of the competition was a battle royale.
Jungwon bounced in his chair, excited as battle royale was his favorite.
You, on the other hand, weren’t the best at them.
No amount of practice the last couple of days was enough to prepare you.
You even snuck over to Jungwon’s room and begged him to help you, letting you in with a roll of his eyes saying you would do perfectly fine.
You were good at battle royale, yes, but after finding out the team you were up against was KNOWN as battle royale players.
You even so much as went and stalked their Steam and Twitch accounts. All they play is battle royales.
The day of the finale came faster than you’d like.
You twisted your fingers together as you stared off in the distance of the gaming area, your headphones dangling around your neck.
Jungwon looked over at you, placing his hand on top of yours.
You looked over at him, his dimple smiling being enough to relax you.
“It’s okay, we will kick ass,” There he goes with his confidence, “I am the best at battle royales, and you are also good at them, we got this. Just stick to me.”’
You nodded, giving a soft pout when he looked away and released his hand from yours.
The announcer started the game, and the finale began.
You stuck to Jungwon like glue, looting the area and switching guns out for better ones as the timer ran down.
One by one you and Jungwon took out each team you came into contact with, but that was solely because of the fact Jungwon always comes in clutch in hard situations.
Until it came down to the last two teams. Yours and the team you were worried about.
Jungwon gave orders as you followed him to the next and final circle, sliding and hiding behind a building.
Jungwon pulled his sniper out, aiming down sights to see where the enemy team could be. You crept into the building, doing one last final round of looting and reloading, ready to walk out, when Jungwon screamed beside you.
“Wonnie?! What?!”
“Don’t leave that building!”
You did as you were told, peaking your head out a window, seeing Jungwon down one of the players, just for the second one to pop out of nowhere and down him.
“Fuck!” Jungwon scoffed, dropping his headset down around his neck and rolling his chair to your side, staring at your screen.
“Y/N, you need to down him before he picks up his teammate.”
Your fingers shake against the keyboard, as you quickly run out from the building.
“You got this,” Jungwon reassured you.
You run up behind the other player, “What if I don’t?”
“Baby, listen to me,” him calling you baby was enough to make your heart race even more, “You got this, okay?”
You nodded, switching your guns quickly just in time for the other player to turn around and start shooting, but you were quicker. Sliding out of the way, and getting up behind him with a shotgun in hand, pulling the trigger and downing him. The title of winner flashed across your screen.
“I did it!” you shouted, turning to look at Jungwon, “We did it!”
Jungwon high-fives your hands, his fingers intertwined with yours, shaking your hands back and forth, “We did it!”
With no hesitation, you leaned forward, pressing a quick kiss to his lips.
Jungwon was too stunned to say anything, eyes blinking rapidly.
You pulled your headset down around your neck, letting yourself hear the outside world.
“I am in love with you too,” You smiled, heart nearly beating out of your chest, “I always have been and just covered it up with the hatred I had. I’ve missed you too, and you weren’t actually suffocating me, I said that out of anger and confusion, I—“
That’s all Jungwon needed to hear, shutting you up by pressing his lips back to yours, cupping your hands softly between his hands.
All he cared about was winning you back, and he did. Winning the gaming competition was just a bonus.
He made you fall for him all over again, only he fell harder than he did before.

hello!
do you think you can do enemies to lovers head cannons for jake? i love him sm 😭😭 ty!
MISTAKE — 심재윤
in which. you and sim jaeyun’s mutual hate turns out to be.. mutual pining
genre(s). fluff, enemies to lovers, angst (if you squint) pairing. sim jaeyun x reader trigger warnings. profanity, pet names
a/n. anon, are you stalking me?? i was actually going to make smth like this before you requested it- HOW’D YOU KNOW?? ahem, anyways, hope you enjoy! p.s. JAKEY IS SAUR CUTEESJAJA p.p.s. for the quotes, bold is jake and regular is you + ‘—‘ in italics are thoughts
navigation. masterlist request guidelines enhypen masterlist
i feel like you guys would tease each other a lot— i think JAKE would definitely be a flirty ass tease
“stop calling me that.” “what, love?” “that.”
he is such a(n adorable) menace
he secretly enjoys seeing you get all worked up from his flirt- i mean teasing (which is kind of the main reason why he does it)
“you want to kiss me sooo baaad” “i’d rather kiss the floor”
the members are so tired and done just waiting for you two to kiss
(more under the cut !)
one time you and the members all went on a hiking trip, but they really just set you up and left you with jake
“if you don’t care, why are you holding my hand??” “so i can drag you down with me if we fall from this cliff.”
always gives you that adorable grin with his puppy eyes whenever he has the last word, leaving you to glare because you hate that you love it (as in the grin)
and then that incident happened. you kissed him (on accident apparently).
you and jake were having your daily bickering and teasing, until you started getting annoyed and kissed him to shut him up
jake literally started malfunctioning for a few seconds and both of you were processing what you just did
“.. why did you do that?” “.. why did you kiss back?” “i didn’t.” “..you did.”
then it was just this really awkward silence so you decided to run off out of embarrassment and confusion
‘why did i like that??’
you’d start ignoring and avoiding him at all costs and was scared that he now hates you more once you realized you liked him
jake would get really upset by you until he one day just drags you away to somewhere with no people
and then he would kiss you
after you two start dating, your interactions would probably be the same but less harsh and more out of love<33
he would be so clingy and WILL NOT let you go once you’re in his arms
he is still a literal menace (would ruffle and mess up your hair, etc.)
all in all, he would just be super teasing and annoying but you still love him

ᯓᡣ𐭩 𝙖/𝙣: ding dong! as promised, i will continue this au but forgive me for the delay as i couldn't post the chap 1 last night since my migraine was killing me. anyways, enjoy the chapter :D
chapter 1
after surviving a hectic day at the university, you went straight at home to take some rest before your 10 pm shift at the nightclub. you washed up, ate dinner, and changed to your working clothes which is a red v-neck polo shirt and a black skirt. you also wore your black stockings and black boots to finish the look.
after changing, you went in front of the mirror to do a simple make up and tie your hair into a high pony while you left some strands on your face. feeling confident with how you look, you took your black padded jacket resting on the edge of your bed and wore it as you reached for your sling bag. with all the things you needed, you finally left your home to work a yet again, tiring shift at the nightclub.
"i can guarantee you, i'll have more tips than you!" the moment you entered the staff room, you heard red's voice. she seems to be having a conversation with your other co-workers.
"oh yeah? i'll bet that i'll have more." the other girl answered. when you peeked behind the curtain, it was red and jia.
"what's up, girls." you greeted them. red and jia's face lit up when they saw you.
"oh well, since you're here. i'll just bet that you'll be the one who will gain the most tips tonight." jia shrugged, immediately accepting her defeat.
"how are you so sure?" you raised an eyebrow at her while you take off your jacket.
"i just heard that Mr. Baek will be here tonight." jia said.
Mr. Baek is one of the VIPs, he would often go here and tip you a crazy amount of money. it's like Mr. Baek favors you. some of your co-workers are jealous of you because of the hefty amount of money he would tip whenever you're on shift but you will never not notice his intentions behind those crazy tipping. scanning every inch of your body, throwing you those flirty looks, grazing his skin onto yours, it's just disgusting. but life's tough, sometimes you just gotta let other people do the things they want if it somehow benefits you too.
after your short conversation with red and jia, the three of you helped clean the counter since the club was about to open. the moment it did, a small group of men went straight to the counter where you and your friends were standing. you sighed as you flash your brightest smile.
oh, this will be a long night for you.
a few hours passed and it was already late. when you looked at your wrist watch, it was already 1 am. your shift ends at 2:30 so you still have an hour and half. you were just cleaning the counter when red nudged you and pouted her lips towards the main door. it was Mr. Baek together with his men in black which gained a few looks from the other customers.
you finished your small task before he could arrive at the counter, when you catched his eyes, he smiled at you flirtingly.
"hello, dear." you nodded and slightly bowed your head, acknowledging his presence.
"good evening, Mr. Baek." you greeted. he hummed in response.
"i'll be here in a short time, i'll just meet a someone important. just give me your finest whiskey right now and put it in my tab." he said, leaning on the counter to get closer to you.
"duly noted, sir. would that be all?" you asked while tapping something on the screen.
"that would be all, sweetheart." he said. you almost threw up at the pet name he called you.
"alright sir, i'll just have someone serve you the drinks." you gave him a small smile before bowing. he left after that to sit at his regular space. you then instructed one of the servers to serve the bottle Mr. Baek ordered.
a few minutes passed and you saw Mr. Baek leaving together with his men. he went straight to the counter to close his tab.
"here's your tip." he handed you a one banded stack of money after paying his bill. you don't know how much was it but you took it like you always do.
"thank you Mr. Baek, i hope you had a pleasant stay." you bowed to thank him. he chuckled at your politeness.
"seeing you here is already pleasant, dear." he said. you almost scoff at his remarks but you stayed silent. he bid his last good bye for the rest of the staffs who are in shift before leaving the club.
"that's a lot." red whistled, looking at the banded money in your hand. you shrugged before shoving it in your pocket.
time flies so fast and it was already 2 am, just 30 minutes more and you'll finally end your shift. the counter's pretty much chilling right now when people are just vibing and drunk dancing at the platform. you were just looking around when a tall gorgeous man approached the counter. he was wearing a black button down polo and black pants, his aura screaming power and confidence. some girls he would pass by would stare at him with lust, making you scoff.
"hi." you couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at heeseung when he approached you at the counter. you sighed and calmed yourself down before giving him a fake smile.
"good evening sir, how may i help you?" you asked. he scanned your whole face before giving you a small smile.
"one glass of rum, please." he ordered. you nodded and tapped the screen. he waited patiently as your colleague make his order.
he sat at one of the high stool just beside the counter, the proximity making you awkward and uncomfortable, specially about what happened last night at the parking lot.
oh wait, is he mad that's why he's here? is he going to confront you? maybe you ruined their moment last night?
you were just overthinking every possible reason why he's here tonight when jia and red approached you. you never even realized that heeseung finally got his drink.
"who's that hottie?" jia whispered. they were both looking at heeseung like he was some prey. he might've been noticed your friends' staring when he turned his gaze at your direction.
you quickly looked away and gulped. there's just something about his stares that makes you just want to melt on the spot. no wonder a lot of woman wants him. one look and you're wrapped around his hands.
a few minutes passed and heeseung went back in front of you to pay his bill. he pulled out the exact amount for his bill but you were caught off guard when he pulled out a much bigger banded stack of money than what Mr. Baek gave you a while ago.
"here's your tip." he lightly shoved the stack towards you. before leaving the counter without looking at you. your mind went blank while looking at his leaving figure, mouth slightly agape from shock.
just when you couldn't see heeseung anymore, you took the money and ran towards where he left. jia and red screaming your name as you hurriedly followed him. you went to the parking lot and there you saw him leaning on a sports car, cigarette in between his lips. he was about to light the cigarette when he noticed you approaching him. he took the cigarette away from his lips when you arrived in front of him.
on the other hand, you were panting, cheeks red from running trying to catch up to him. without saying anything, you extended the arm that was holding the money he gave you.
"i can't take this." you said, you urged him to take it but he just looked at you with amusement. not taking any of your actions seriously.
"what? did the other person tipped you more?" he asked smirking. you looked at him dumbfounded.
is he talking about Mr. Baek? he saw him?
"what is wrong with you? just take your money!" you shoved your hand to his chest.
"you would take an old man's tip and not mine?" he sounded so offended which irritated you even more. his sly smile is not even helping with the situation right now.
"Mr. Baek is a regular of mine!" you defended yourself. he chuckled at your irritated face.
"i'll be your regular then, starting today." he said and shrugged before he opened the door of his sports car, not even minding your extended arms.
"no! i don't need your money!" you were fuming at him, voice slightly raising.
he didn't even bother looking at you and just closed the door of his car in front of you. he just rolled down his window to flash you his sweetest smile.
"look for me tomorrow at the university." he said before starting his engine and pulled his windows up.
what the fuck?!
"sir- heeseung!" you shouted when his car drove away from you.
just what the fuck is his problem?!

𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐔𝐬, 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 / 𝐍𝐢-𝐊𝐢
𝟑. 𝐍𝐨 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞
Genre: Enemies to lovers, a bit of smau Pairing: ni-ki x fem!reader WC: 1k Warnings(TBU!): profanity, slow burnish, y/n & riki have an attitude problem, might contain bad grammar and may be illogical sometimes.
༻꧁✬꧂༺
⇝19.08.2022⇜
The sharp clang of her locker slamming shut was barely audible due to the loud, crowded hallway, the sound echoing in her chest as Y/N slung her bag over her shoulder and marched toward the schools exit. It had been another long, exhausting day. ༻꧁✬꧂༺
As the front door of her house swung open, the obnoxious chatter of her brother, Jay, and his friends filtered through the air. Her brows furrowed. Great. Probably yelling over their video games. She kicked off her shoes and walked towards the living room, mentally preparing herself to pass through unnoticed.
But then she froze.
Sitting there, lounging on her couch like he owned the place, was Blondie. His blonde hair caught the light streaming in from the window, and his smug grin disappeared as he turned towards her. Around them, Jay's other friends sat lounging around, seemingly oblivious to the chaos brewing in her mind.
Her heart sank into her stomach. No. Way.
She blinked, hoping it was some kind of weird, stress induced hallucination. But no. It was him.
"Youve got to be kidding me?" she muttered under her breath, still standing in the doorway.
Jay looked up, noticing her. "Oh, hey, Y/N."
She didnt answer, her gaze locked on Blondie. He was wearing that same annoying expression as usual. He leaned back, averting his gaze. His eyes widening. "You?" He said frowning.
"Dont tell me hes your friend," she said, pointing an accusatory finger at him.
"Who? Riki?" Jay asked perplexed. Blondie uh Riki tilted his head skeptically. "Oh, youre joking." she said louder this time, throwing her bag to the floor. "This guy is your friend?"
Riki raised an eyebrow, turning to Jay. "Why is she here, is she your girlfriend or something?" disgust in his tone.
"What no?, thats my sister you idiot" He rebutted.
Her jaw tightened. "What are you doing here?" she snapped. "I don't know. Hanging out?" he replied, feigning innocence. "You act like Im here just to ruin your day." He said, his attention turning back to her.
She scoffed. "You are ruining my day."
Jay, clearly oblivious to the tension, shrugged. "Riki and I have been friends for some time. Don't take it personally, Y/N. He's actually a cool guy once you get to know him."
"I'd rather not," she shot back, glaring at Riki one last time before storming off to her room. ༻꧁✬꧂༺
Hours later, after locking herself away to sulk in her annoyance, Y/N finally left her room, unable to ignore her need for the bathroom any longer. She opened the door, stepping into the dimly lit hallway, and nearly collided with someone.
"Watch it!" she hissed, her blood boiling as she stepped back.
It was Riki. Of course, it had to be him. He was walking out of the bathroom, casually running a hand through his blonde hair.
"Can you not block the hallway?" she snapped, folding her arms.
"Can you not storm around like you own the place?" he shot back, his tone laced with arrogance.
"This is my house." She said looking at him puzzled.
He shrugged, unbothered. "And?"
Her fingers clenched into fists. "Youve got some nerve acting all brazen in someone elses home" "Not my problem" He remarked. "Ive been free of you all day, and now youre here. In my house. Friends with my brother. Out of all the people in the world" She groaned tilting her head.
Riki smirked slightly and he leaned against the wall, towering slightly over her. "Maybe youre just mad that you cant stop thinking about me."
Her cheeks flared with heat out of anger. "Excuse me?" 'Maybe youre just mad that you cant stop thinking about me' What was that supposed to mean? Was he teasing her??
She took a step forward, poking him in the chest. "Dont flatter yourself, the only thing I think about is how much I hate you."
Riki chuckled. "Hates just a step away from-"
"Dont even finish that sentence" she scoffed annoyed, shoving him away.
The hallway was narrow, and the force of her push sent Riki stumbling back. For a split second, panic flashed in her eyes as he nearly lost his balance at the top of the stairs. He caught himself just in time, gripping the railing with one hand and staring at her startled.
There was a second of silence, heavy with unspoken tension.
"Seriously?" he said, his voice low and dangerous. "You couldve pushed me down the stairs."
"Maybe I should've," she shot back, though her voice cracked slightly.
He straightened up, brushing himself off. "Youve got some serious issues"
"Youre one to talk" she countered sassily, stepping back.
Riki shook his head, stepping past her, nudging her shoulder on purpose.
"Fucking idiot" she muttered under her breath, finally heading to the bathroom.
༻꧁✬꧂༺ Y/N stood in the kitchen preparing dinner as she felt her brothers presence near. "Y/N?" Jays voice broke through, making her turn around. "What" She replied calm "What the hell is going on with you and riki? I heard you guys argue earlier," He said with his arms crossed. She groaned, slumping her shoulders."Ugh, hes just being dramatic" Jay gave her a skeptical look."You really need to chill, hes my friend. I dont know what your guys' deal is, but you cant keep acting like this everytime you see each other." Her jaw clenched. "My deal is that hes- ugh forget it." Jay sighed, shaking his head. "Whatever , just dont start world war III in the hallways next time." Y/N rolled her eyes as he walked off, muttering something under his breath. While her attention turned back to cutting her food her mind wandered to what riki had said earlier. 'Maybe youre just mad that you cant stop thinking about me' She stopped cutting and pressed her palms against her eyes, willing herself to forget his infuriating face, the way his face made her stomach turn, and how he made her blood boil everytime they faced each other. But deep down, she knew one thing. This wasnt over. Not by a long shot. ⇜Last Part ❀ Next Part⇝

Decelis Academy, a place where the mortal and the immortal lived amongst one another. A place where you didn’t know who was on the same side as you. A place where you had to fear for your life, as a mortal, at least. Even if you didn’t want to, it was something always in the back of your mind, whether you liked it or not. Despite all of that, it was one of the top places for education and it was actually a safer place than the world outside of the Decelis Academy campus grounds.
Today was my first day at Decelis, the first day of the new school year as well. I’d gotten to Decelis only the day before, unlike the others who’d either remained for the summer, or who’d gotten here a week before. Since I’d gotten to the academy late, I ended up having a small one-person bedroom at the end of the girls dormitory hall. It wasn’t as nice as the other rooms and it did kind of suck that I’d be alone, but at the same time, the fact that I’d be alone, was nice.
The first class would be starting in nearly ten minutes, but the campus was big and I was new to the school, so I headed to class a few minutes earlier than the others. Not only that, but I had to get my stuff from my locker. I hadn’t bothered to go to breakfast in the morning, hence the fact that I was even more unfamiliar with the campus, not feeling hungry much anyways.
I eventually found my first class, that class being English class. I walked inside and the teacher greeted me, informing me that there was a seating chart. He then looked at a piece of paper and informed me on where I’d be sitting. I nodded, thanking him, before I headed to the seat which was in a middle row, off to the side of the classroom, putting my stuff on the desk as I sat down.
People started piling into the room after me, me being the first one in the classroom. Maybe, I didn’t need to leave my dorm so early, but being early to class wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, especially not on the first day.
Just as the bell had rung, a guy had walked into the room. He had black hair, the bangs covering his face a little bit. He was also definitely quite tall, I could tell even from where I was sitting. His uniform was styled in a way that definitely wasn’t the intended look, his uniform looking a little messy but somehow he made it look cool.
“Nishimura Riki.” The teacher greeted the boy, seemingly already knowing who he was. “You’re seated over there, next to Lucia _______.” He said, motioning over to me. I made eye contact with the boy whose name was apparently Riki before looking away, down at the desk. Riki nodded and walked over to where I was sitting, sitting at the desk next to mine. The desks in the room were put together in pairs so we were somewhat close to one another.
Riki plopped down at his seat. He then glanced over at me, noticing that I was still looking down at my desk, before he smirked to himself and looked at the teacher.
The teacher had begun his instruction, telling the class a little bit about himself but mostly just going over the syllabus for the school year. It was boring, the first day of school was always boring, in my opinion, at least.
The whole time our English teacher was talking, Riki was next to me tapping his feet, playing with a pen, and just completely not paying attention. I couldn’t blame him but the foot tapping was kind of annoying me as it was slightly shaking my desk that was against mine, causing his desk to hit my desk.
Finally, the class came to an end and it was time for me to head to my next class. I was kind of happy to be done going over this syllabus and I was especially happy to be out of that seat next to the cute boy who was kind of annoying me the whole class.
Finally, it was the last period of the day. The day had been entirely uneventful for me to say the least. I’d talked to no one really and as I said before, we had mostly just been going over syllabuses all day and maybe doing a short icebreaker or two in some classes.
My last class was a class specific to Decelis Academy. It was somewhat of a history class about Decelis Academy itself which I figured would be quite interesting.
I arrived and walked inside to find out that there luckily was no assigned seating in this class, something that seemed to be a rare thing at this school. I sat in the back of the class. I noticed that these desks were also put in pairs. I figured it made sense though since it seemed that this class would be more of an interactive class, something I wasn’t sure that I necessarily liked the idea of.
I was distracted as I looked at the syllabus for the class that was put on the desks before we even got to class. I looked at the brief descriptions of the topics we’d been going over. I was kind of excited to get into it. Although, at the same time, it did give me a bit of anxiety with some of the topics. I wasn’t necessarily scared of all vampires, but when I thought of certain things, it did stress me out. One of the most stressful things about this school was the unknowingness of who is a mortal and who isn’t. Maybe it wouldn’t stress me out as much if I wasn’t left completely in the dark.
I’m startled by someone sitting next to me, the desk hitting into mine. I glanced over just to see the guy from my English class. What was his name again? Ni- Niki? No.. Riki. Riki, it was Riki. I looked around the room, noticing that there were a few other empty seats, cursing the universe for making him sit next to me.
The teacher started talking about the syllabus, something I’d expected to take all periods like all of the other classes, but this time, it only took half of the class. “Now, everyone. We’re going to do a little icebreaker between you and your partner. I want you guys to get to know one another a little. I also want you guys to talk about what you’re most interested in learning about in this class this year.” The teacher told us. “And I’m going to be walking around to make sure you guys are talking.” He added.
I watched as the teacher went to his desk, sitting down. I didn’t know what to say, not really wanting to talk to Riki despite the fact that I knew I had to. If we were going to talk, I just wanted him to start the conversation. A few moments of silence later, he did.
“So, what was your name again?” He asked, his voice deep and soft.
I looked over at him to see him looking at me, “Lucia.” I responded.
“Riki.” He said back, introducing himself. I just awkwardly smiled and nodded, looking down at my hands that rested on the desk. “So, where are you from?” Riki then asked.
“_____.” I said, telling him that I was from a town nearby Decelis Academy and he nodded, “What about you?” I then asked.
“____.” Riki answered, naming another town, also nearby Decelis Academy, that I’d heard of before. “So.. you like this stuff. The history of Decelis?” He then asked.
“Uh, yeah. I guess so.” I said, not really sure since I didn’t really know much about it. “I don’t really know a lot about it.” I told him.
“Well, what do you know?” Riki then asked.
“All I know is that humans and vampires live in coexistence with one another here and that.. we don’t know who is what.” I said, explaining the little knowledge that I knew.
“Yeah, that’s right.” Riki confirmed, nodding his head a little. “You’ll learn more the longer you’re here.” He then told me and I nodded, I figured he was right about that. I looked down at my fingers again, fiddling and playing with them. “You’re shy, huh?” Riki then straightforwardly asked.
I looked over at him again, blushing a little at him mentioning that, “I.. I guess.”
Riki just snickered, not in a demeaning way towards me, but in an amused way. “Cute.” He said, quietly, but loud enough that I could hear.
I didn’t say anything in response, not being able to form words as I looked down at my hands again. We remain like that for a few moments before the teacher comes over. “Guys, let’s start talking, alright?” He said before walking away.
I looked over at Riki who just laughed at the teacher, I couldn’t help but smile as well. As he laughed, I noticed his sharp canine teeth but immediately looked past it, pretty much ignoring it and thinking nothing of it as I looked down at my hands again. Humans had sharp canine teeth and Riki’s being a little sharper than others wasn’t a red flag to me, it just seemed normal.
The bell eventually rang, signaling the end of the school day. I got up and grabbed my stuff. Riki got up as well, “See you.” He said before leaving the room. I watched as he walked out before I started out of the classroom as well. I didn’t know it yet but that would be the start of a long school year.
I sat in English class the next day. The bell had rung a few minutes ago but Riki was nowhere to be seen. Maybe that was a good thing.
I looked up at the teacher who was currently doing a powerpoint presentation for us. I was trying my best to just pay attention, having an easier time than yesterday.
The door opened and I looked over to see Riki. He glanced over at me before looking at the teacher who’d put his hands on his hips in disappointment.
“Nishimura Riki, late already and it’s only the second day.” The teacher said.
“I slept in.” Riki said.
“That’s not an excuse.” The teacher sighed as he waved Riki off to go sit down. Riki smirked to himself as he came over and sat down next to me. “Take out your notebook and something to write with guys, you’re going to have to take notes on the next few slides.” The teacher instructed us.
I got my notebook out from under a folder and put it in front of me before grabbing my pencil case and taking a pen out of it.
“You got a pen that I can borrow?” Riki asked softly and I looked over, not really hearing him clearly.
“What?” I asked.
“You got a pen that I can borrow?” He repeated himself, holding his hand out expectantly.
I took a pen out of my pencil case and silently put it in his hand. He took it and placed it on his desk.
Riki then put his arms on the desk and rested his head. So, what was the point of even taking the pen if he wasn’t going to do work? He remained like that for the rest of the period. The bell rang and he sat up, going to give me back the pen.
“You can keep it.” Was all I said as I grabbed my stuff and got up, leaving the classroom.
Lunchtime came and once again, I sat alone at lunch. I didn’t really mind it though, it gave me time to just relax in between classes. Today, I’d taken a book with me so that I had something to do while I ate. I was enjoying reading it, lost in my own world as I read and ate when suddenly there was a voice in my ear.
“What’re you reading?” I heard and flinched, looking back to see Riki looking down at me with an amused smirk.
“Frankenstein.” I answered as he moved away, sitting down next to me, completely uninvited.
“Frankenstein? Dracula is much better.” Riki said.
“I’m going to read that next.” I said. “Have you read Frankenstein before?” I asked.
“No, and I don’t plan on it. I haven’t even read Dracula.” Riki answered.
I rolled my eyes, “So, then how do you know he’s better?” I asked.
“Anything is better than Frankenstein.” Riki said, matter-of-factly, but also in a slightly teasing manner.
“Whatever.” I sighed as I continued reading, hoping ignoring him would make him go away.
“So, I was wondering if you could give me the notes from English.” Riki then spoke after a few moments of silence.
I looked at him again, “Why?”
“You saw me sleeping in class, didn’t you?” Riki asked.
“Yeah.. but that was your choice.” I reminded him.
“Wow, feisty.” He chuckled. “Come on, this is the only time I’ll ask for them.” Riki then said, but truthfully, I doubted that.
I sighed, “They’re in my locker.” I quietly said.
“Then, come on. Lunch’s about to be over anyways.” Riki said, getting up from his seat.
I got up, throwing the rest of my food out, as I took my book and led Riki to my locker. I unlocked it and opened it as Riki stood behind me. I grabbed my English notebook and turned around, handing it to him. I looked up at him, “Can you give it back to me during last period?” I asked.
“Yeah.” Riki said, looking down at me. “Thanks, Lucia.” He then said. “You’re welcome.” I said. He looked down into my eyes and in this lighting at least, it seemed to almost be changing color. The bell rang, interrupting whatever was just happening. I grabbed my stuff for my next class from my locker before shutting it, locking it again. “Bye.” I quickly said before walking off to my next class.
It was the last period of the day and to my surprise, Riki had actually gotten to class before me. I walked over to my desk and sat down, putting my stuff on the table. Riki then slid over my English notebook and I took it, putting it in my pile of stuff.
“Thank you.” I said, feeling a little flustered after whatever happened at the locker earlier. It was so weird. It was simple eye contact but it left me feeling dizzy for the rest of the day. It’s probably all in my head.
“You’re welcome.” Riki told me, leaning back in his chair a little.
Class started up and the teacher started talking, explaining that we’d be using textbooks in this class. He then went to a cabinet, opening it up before telling everyone to come up and get a book. I got up, and Riki did as well, the both of us, along with the other students, getting up to get our books. Somehow, Riki had gotten to the front of the crowd, while I remained in the back. I impatiently waited for people to take their books and go so that I could get mine already, I didn’t understand what was taking everybody so long.
Riki walks away from the cabinet, making his way through everyone. Suddenly, he pushes a book gently against my chest, causing me to grab it. He then walked past me and back to his seat. I stood there for a moment before heading back to my desk. He’d gotten me a book. My heart was beating out of my chest. It was so weird, I mean, sure, yesterday I did find him cute, but really that was it. Then, suddenly, today, I feel like I’m head over heels for him after only one day of knowing him. This has never happened to me before.
I sat down and put my textbook down. I sat there and waited while everyone eventually made their way back to their seats. The teacher told us what page to flip to and so everyone did. He then started reading out the text.
Vampires are blood-drinking immortals who can feast on animals, including mortal humans. They are a big threat at Decelis Academy as they are everywhere, you just don’t know who they are.
Vampires feed mainly for survival but for pleasure as well. They can also easily manipulate the minds of humans. You have to be wary of who you just trust within Decelis.
Next to that text was a picture of someone in a vampire costume. It was so tacky, I couldn’t help but stifle a giggle. Riki looked over at me, “Is that supposed to be scary?” Riki whispered as he pointed at the picture in his textbook. I looked at him, shrugging as I smiled.
The teacher then continued to read from the book. It was kind of interesting, I’ll admit. It was just the cringey obviously fake pictures that made it so funny. I knew it was wrong but I was holding my laugh the whole time.
The bell rang, signaling the end of class. Everyone shut their books, the teacher telling us to just leave it on the desks. I got up and grabbed my stuff.
“These textbooks are so stupid. They don’t even tell half of the truth.” Riki commented. I looked over at him. “I had to do a research project last year and I looked at the books in the library. They gave so much more information.” He explained. “You’re interested in that stuff, right, Miss. Frankenstein?” Riki then asked me, teasing me a little as well.
I gave him a look after hearing his nickname before answering. “I am.”
“Well, you should check it out sometime. I could show you?” Riki then suggested.
“Okay..” I agreed.
“We could go after class tomorrow? I have something I have to do today.” He then said.
“Okay, sure.” I agreed again. “Thank you.” I then timidly said.
“You’re welcome.” Riki said before walking off.
Riki and I walked out of our last period the day after. He walked with me down the halls, leading me to the library as I’ve never been there before nor have I even seen it around campus before. But then again, I hadn’t explored the campus too much.
We finally arrived at two large doors with a sign over it that said “Library”. Riki opened the door and we walked inside. I looked over at the front desk to see no one. The librarians nowhere in sight. I could see a few people, randomly around the library, either quietly doing schoolwork or looking through the books.
“Come on, it’s in the back.” Riki softly said and I nodded, following after him.
We walked to the far back before Riki finally stopped walking. I looked up and saw the “Mythology” section. He motioned for me to go inside.
I looked through the books, my fingers grazing over the books as I looked through the titles. Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, all sorts of books like that. Along with that, there were books about each thing, like; Spot a Werewolf and then Spot a Vampire. I took the Spot a Vampire book out without even thinking. Opening the pages and skimming through.
They have to be told they can enter one’s place of residence before entering. They have sharp teeth in general but when they’re in a trance, their teeth get sharper. Their eyes tend to change color. Vampires do not need normal human necessities like food and sleep. They can eat if they want, but they can’t sleep. They are cold. They don’t have a heartbeat. They drink blood. Even at the mere sight or scent of it, they get put in a trance.
“What’re you reading?” Riki asked, looking down over my shoulder, breaking me out of the focus I had on the book.
I glanced up at him before looking down at the book again, “Spot a Vampire.” I said. I shut the book, putting it back in the bookshelf. “You’re right. These books do give more information than the Textbook.” I then told him, giving him a soft smile.
“Yeah, I know. Those textbooks are shit.” Riki said, smiling back down at me.
“Thanks for showing me this.” I suddenly said. Although he was annoying at first, he was the first and only person so far at this school to actually talk to me.
“You’re welcome.” Riki told me. “I don’t really come in here much, it’s kind of for nerds, but I thought you’d like it.” He then said with a shrug.
“Hey! So, you’re calling everyone in here nerds? Including me?” I asked, smiling a little as I knew he was just teasing.
“Maybe.” He said with a shrug.
I fake scoffed as I walked past him, I’d have to come back here when I finished Frankenstein and borrow Dracula.
Riki ended up walking me back to the girls dormitory. He could only really walk me to the corridor entrance though, as guys weren’t allowed over there. I thanked him before saying my goodbye, walking to my dorm.
The next day, it was Friday. The day had gone by the same as all of the other days of the week. The work was quite simple and easy as it was only the first week of school. I was sitting at lunch, reading Frankenstein. I was almost finished, only three chapters left.
“Hey, Miss. Frankenstein.” I heard from behind me and I already knew who it was; Riki.
“Can you stop calling me that?” I asked, a small blush forming on my cheeks. The nickname was so embarrassing.
Riki sits down next to me, “What else would I call you?” He asked with a playful smirk.
“My name.” I responded.
“Fine. Hey, Lucia.” He said, feigning boredom when saying that.
“Hi, Riki.” I said back, looking back down at my book.
“Stop reading that for a second, nerd. I have something to ask you.” Riki then said. I folded the page I’d left off on and shut the book before looking over at him, waiting for him to speak. “There’s a huge abandoned mansion in the woods. My friends and I totally revamped the place. We’re going to be having a party there. Everyone’s coming.” He told me. “Want to come?” He then asked.
I thought for a moment, “I don’t know. I don’t really know anyone.”
“So, then you can get to know people at the party. Besides, you know me, and I’ll be there.” Riki reminded me. “So, what do you say?” He then asked.
“Fine.” I sighed.
“It’s right after last period. You can come with me since you don’t know the way.” He then said.
“Okay.” I said, agreeing to that plan.
“Cool.” Riki nodded. “I’m gonna go sit with my friends, want to come? Or would you rather read your book?” Riki then asked, his hand touching my book.
“I-” I did want to keep reading my book alone, and he did give me that option, but I wasn’t sure if that was the right thing to say.
Riki chuckled, “Read your book. I’ll see you in class, nerd.” He then said, getting up and ruffling my hair, messing it up a little bit, before he walked off.
After last period ended, I headed straight to my dorm to put my stuff away. I looked in the mirror in my bedroom, making sure I looked somewhat decent before leaving my room. I walked down the girl’s dormitory and went to the corridor entrance. I could see Riki waiting for me, leaning with his back against the wall. He and I were both still in our school uniforms, since apparently everyone was going to be.
He looked over at me and I walked over to him. “Come on.” Riki said, motioning for me to follow him. I caught up to him and walked by his side as he started walking through the school. We left through a side entrance, walking down a pathway to a place where the fence around the school was slightly lower, but still quite high.
“We’re going to climb.” Riki told me.
“Climb? I can’t climb fences.” I said, anxiety creeping up into my chest.
“It’s fine. It’s not hard.” Riki said. “I’ll help you.” He then told me. I sighed, taking a deep breath. “Grab onto the fence.” He instructed me and so I did. “Now put one foot in the fence.” He then said and so I did. “Now, go slowly and just use your feet and hands to climb up.” Riki told me. I did as he said. As I got a little higher, I felt Riki put his hand on my back, supporting me a little bit as I climbed up.
I made my way to the top of the fence. Riki then climbed up on his own and easily hopped over to the other side. He looked up at me, “Come on, go over the fence and jump.” He said.
“I- I can’t.” I said, anxiously. God, this was so embarrassing.
“Just go over to this side and I’ll help you down. You just need to come on this side first.” Riki said. I sighed as I put my legs over, one at a time. “Just climb down a little bit, then I’ll help you.” Riki then told me.
As he stepped closer to me, I suddenly became hyper aware of the fact that I was literally wearing a skirt. I shut my legs tightly, climbing down the fence a little bit. I then felt his hands on waist. “Let go.” Riki told me and I did. He then held me and put me down on the ground, letting go once I was stably on the floor.
“Come on, nerd.” Riki then said, starting to walk into the woods. I quickly caught up with him, not wanting to be far away from him when we were literally in the woods. There were so many dangers out here.
After ten minutes or so of walking, we arrived in front of a big mansion. I could see people piling into the house, the loud music from inside being clear from out here. “Come on, let me introduce you to my friends. They’re here already.” Riki told me. He then headed inside.
I followed him closely, trying my best to keep up but it was hard due to all of the people inside of the huge house, especially in this specific room. I saw him put his arm out for me and so I grabbed on, not even thinking as I held onto him.
We eventually made our way into a room where I could see six other boys and three girls. Everyone looked our way as we walked inside and I immediately felt out of place and awkward. I let go of Riki, suddenly feeling embarrassed. He looked over at me before grabbing my hand, causing me to let out a wince at how cold he was. I mean, it was cold out but wow.
“Guys, this is Lucia. She’s new here.” Riki introduced me to them.
“Hi.” I shyly greeted them and they all greeted me back.
“Nice to meet you, Lucia. I’m Dahyun.” One of the girls said, taking my hand and pulling me closer to her, away from Riki. “This is Yumin and this is Jia.” She then introduced me to two other girls.
“Hi, nice to meet you.” I said with a small smile.
“Are you dating Riki?” Dahyun then asked.
“Oh, no. No. We’re just friends.” I said.
“Oh, I see. I shouldn’t have assumed.” Dahyun then said.
“No, no. It’s fine.” I assured her.
“I’m dating Jay, Yumin’s dating Sunghoon, and Jia’s dating Heeseung.” Dahyun explained.
“Oh, that’s nice.” I said, awkwardly smiling. I glanced over at Riki who was at the other side of the room, talking with the boys.
I continued to talk with the girls, getting to know them more. They were all older than me, but they were all really sweet and inviting. All of us were talking when I suddenly had to go to the bathroom. I told them that I’d be right back and that I was just going to the bathroom and they all nodded, telling me to meet back with them after.
I smiled to myself as I walked out of the room, making my way up the stairs, where Jia said a bathroom was. I ended up finding it at the end of the hall. I knocked on the door before opening it, luckily finding no one in there. I went inside and shut the door.
After peeing and washing my hands, I went downstairs. I was walking down the hall, heading back to the room the girls were in when I saw Riki in the room next to it. I hesitated as I went closer.
“Have you never learned to not play with your food? Huh?” I heard a voice that definitely wasn’t Riki’s but that sounded somewhat familiar.
“I’m not playing with my food. It’s not like that. Besides, didn’t you do the same with Jia, huh, Heeseung?” Riki then asked, who turned out to be Heeseung, one of his friends he’d introduced me to.
“That wasn’t the same at all. I admit I did some things wrong, but I kept myself in check. Something that you’re not even worried about.” Heeseung scolded Riki.
“Am I not allowed to have fun anymore? All of the others were so boring. I don’t feel anything with them. At least she-” I walked away before I could hear anymore.
I walked back into the room, suddenly feeling down. Maybe I had some false expectations for Riki. Obviously I did. I doubted that he even liked me, but I thought he at least wanted to be friends. Apparently not. He was just using me this whole time.
I walked over to the girls and tried my best to act as I did before. They could tell something was wrong, I knew they could, but they didn’t say anything. A few minutes later, Riki and Heeseung walked into the room. Riki seemed annoyed.
I told the girls that I was going to go but that I would definitely talk to them more at school. I honestly really liked talking to them. They all agreed, asking if I wanted any of them to come with me. I declined.
I then walked over to Riki who looked down at me, “What’s up, nerd?” He asked.
“I’m going back to Decelis.” I told him.
“Already? What’s wrong?” Riki asked.
“Nothing. I’m just tired.” I lied. Heeseung looked at Riki and it was almost like Riki’s demeanor completely changed. “Have fun.” I then said, walking out of the room.
I quickly made my way through the crowd, making my way out of the house. I tried my best to remember which we came in. It was darker out at this point, the sun setting.
“Lucia, come on. What’s wrong?” I heard Riki. So, he followed me?
I looked back at him, “Nothing. I just want to go back.” I said.
“I’ll go with you.” Riki told me.
“No. Just stay with your friends.” I told him.
“No, Lucia,” Riki sternly said. “You’re not walking alone in the woods. It’s getting late. You don’t even know the way back.” He told me.
“I can find my way back.” I retorted.
“No, come on.” Riki said, taking my warm hand in his cold one.
“Fine.” I said before pulling away from him.
Riki sighed before starting to walk. I followed after him, keeping my distance. Riki slowed down and I ended up walking a little bit ahead of him. I was such an idiot. I mean, this is the one time I feel something so intense for someone in such a short time and he’s just using me. It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have gotten like that over someone I’ve only known for a few days.
I was so caught up in my head that I didn’t realize the branch in the way. I ended up tripping over it and falling to the ground. My knees and hands scraping on some rocks on the ground. I could feel Riki’s hands on me, going to help me.
“Hey, you okay?” He asked. I’ve just fallen in front of the guy who is just playing me. Could this night get any worse?
I pushed him away from me as I got up on my own, wincing a little as I looked at my hands and saw a bit of blood. I then looked down at my knees since they were hurting as well, only to see blood there as well. I whined in pain as tears started flowing down my cheeks, not from the pain but from the embarrassment.
Riki came over to me, his hands on my shoulders, “You oka-” He trailed off as he noticed that I was bleeding. His grip on me tightened for a moment before he pulled away. Suddenly, I can hear some rustling coming from in the woods. My mind immediately went to it being some large scary animal or a vampire. I started crying more. “Come on, let’s go.” Riki said.
He then took my bloody hand in his, his grip tighter than before, as he pulled me along with him. A few minutes later, we arrived at the fence. I winced as I climbed up the fence, it was harder this time. Riki pushed me up, I didn’t even care about my skirt right now. Riki then climbed up and got on the other side. As soon as I got on the side of the campus, I was pulled down by Riki.
He grabbed my hand again and pulled me with him through the campus. We went inside the building and he walked into the girl’s dormitory corridor without a care. “Where’s your dorm?” He asked.
“At- at the end.” I said.
He brought me to the end and I unlocked my dorm, pulling away from him and going inside, expecting him to leave. I looked at him and noticed his eyes shining in the light. He stayed outside of the dorm, “I’ll be right back.” He said, quickly leaving me. I stood there for a few moments before I went out of my dorm, looking down the dorm, expecting to see him walking away, but instead there was no one, the hall was completely empty. Strange.
I sighed as I shut the door, going over to my bed and sitting down. I looked down at my cuts. I did not expect the night to go like this. Not at all.
A few minutes passed before there was a knock at my door. I got up and opened it to see Riki. He had some bandaids in his hand.
I sighed, not even wanting to be around him. “Come in.” I said.
He walked inside, “Go wash your hands and knees.” He said.
I did as he said, washing my hands, a lot of the blood coming off of my hand and knees. I then patted my hands and knees dry with a paper towel and put it in the garbage. I walked back into my bedroom.
“Sit down.” He said and so I did, sitting at the end of my bed.
Riki walked in front of me, crouching down as he opened a bandaid for me. He then took one of my hands, putting a bandaid on for me. He then grabbed my other hand and put another bandaid on me.
Riki grabbed my leg, bringing it up a little more as he opened a bigger bandaid and put it on my knee for me. He then took my other hand and put another bigger bandaid on me. Once he finished, I pulled away from his cold touch.
He stood up straight, gathering the wrappers and going into the bathroom, assumingly to throw them out. He then came out, “You need to watch where you’re going.” Riki said. I just scoffed as I wrapped my arms around my legs. He looked at me for a few moments, “You going to talk to me?” He then asked. I stayed silent. Riki groaned before walking out of the room, shutting the door behind him, leaving me be.
As soon as he left, I hit my head a few times with my hands. This was not how I thought things would go.
For the whole weekend and school week I completely ignored Riki. Not that he really tried to talk to me anyways. On Wednesday, me and the girls all talked and I told them about how Riki and I weren’t talking. I explained about what happened on Friday and they all took my side, although as I was talking, they were all giving each other looks that I couldn’t quite decipher.
Friday came again, and I was sitting in my last period class. Riki was next to me with his head down in his arms, sleeping, I guess. I just ignored him, just as I did previously the rest of the week. Eventually the bell rang and I grabbed my stuff, getting ready to spend the rest of the weekend alone.
I walked through the halls when suddenly, there was a hand gently grabbing my arm. I looked over, just to see Riki. “Lucia, can we talk?” He asked.
“About what?” I asked, playing dumb.
“You know what.” Riki sighed.
“Not now.” I brushed him off.
“Fine. Meet me on the rooftop at 10.” Riki then said, letting go of me and walking away.
I watched him for a moment, rolling my eyes, before I continued my journey back to my dorm.
10 o’clock had come and I was currently walking up the steps to the rooftop. Neither of us were supposed to be up here, especially at this time of night, so I tried to remain as quiet as possible as I snuck out of my room, through the hall, and up the stairwell.
I opened the door and shut it quietly behind me, wrapping my arms around me to try and protect myself from the cold, my silk pajamas not doing much. I looked around and I could see Riki sitting on the ground with his back to the ledge of the roof. He looked over at me and I slowly walked over, arms still wrapped around my torso. Riki sighed as he took his zip-up sweater off and put it on the ground next to him. “Sit down.” He said, and so I did, sitting on his sweater so that I didn’t get dirty.
“Lucia, what happened last week?” Riki asked.
I’m silent for a few moments before I decided to just tell him. “I accidentally overheard you talking with Heeseung at the party on Friday.” I admitted. I expected Riki to look shocked but he didn’t- he didn’t even seem phased. “Were you getting close to me all just to get in my pants?” I asked, and this time, Riki reacted, furrowing his eyebrows a little.
“What are you saying right now?” He asked. “Of course not.” He said.
I rolled my eyes, “I heard what Heeseung said and I heard what you said as well. You said all the other girls were boring. Was it all just some game for you?” I asked. “I mean, I thought that you wanted to be friends.” I said.
“I do. I do, Lucia.” Riki affirmed. “Heeseung doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I’m not doing this to.. to just get in your pants. I want to get to know you, Y/n.” He said.
I looked at him again, “Really?” I asked.
“Really.” Riki said. “I was- I was an idiot that night. I’ll admit. I got mad at you at your dorm. I shouldn’t have. I’m sorry.” He apologized.
“I mean.. I was ignoring you.” I softly said, feeling a little bad all of the sudden.
“Yeah, but I could’ve tried harder.” Riki countered. I’m silent again, not knowing what to say. “You… you don’t have to worry about me just using you. I wouldn't do that to you.” He told me.
“Okay..” I simply said.
“Okay..” Riki said back. “We good?” He then asked.
“Yeah.” I answered.
“Cool. I missed you, nerd.” Riki then added. I smiled before playfully slapping his arm. Riki smiled back at me.
The next few weeks went by normal, just like before, if not better as Riki and I got closer. Not only did I get closer with Riki but I also got closer to Dahyun, Yumin, and Jia, as well as the boys. It was nice, I’d never imagined I’d get along with so many people.
Everything, and I mean everything, changed one night in late October. It was late at night, almost midnight, when I had decided to go for a little walk around the building, trying to tire myself out a little bit before I went to sleep since I was feeling really restless.
I was walking through the empty corridor when I looked out the window to see a bunny. I smiled at the sight and I saw it stop and look at me, sitting there. I went to the door that led to outside, opening it and going outside. I slowly walked over to the bunny and crouched down, softly petting the cute fluffy animal.
Suddenly, the bunny started hopping off. I took a few steps, watching it leave with a soft smile before the moment was interrupted by a sound in the alleyway. My smile faded and I slowly took a few more steps, seeing someone in the alleyway. I gasped, not even thinking as I did so, and the person turned to look at me,
My heart dropped. It was Riki. I could see his sharp fangs protruding out of his mouth a little, blood staining the teeth and dripping down his face a little. I couldn’t believe it. I really couldn’t. Riki was.. a vampire? I screamed in fear and Riki suddenly popped up in front of me, as if he teleported, his hand covering my mouth, muffling the sound.
I tried my best to get away from him, scared that I’d just completely screwed myself. I was prepared for this to be my last night on this Earth. I wriggled in his grip, attempting to push and shove him away. Riki pushed me up into a nearby wall.
“Hey, hey. I’m not going to hurt you, just calm down. Calm down, okay?” Riki pleaded. I started crying, tears steadily flowing down my cheeks and onto Riki’s hand that remained covering my mouth. “Shh, shh. You have to be quiet.” Riki told me, but I just couldn’t do it.
I could hear some commotion inside of the building. Riki cursed to himself before pulling me close, suddenly, we were in my dorm room. I pushed him away, going to the other side of the room. Riki stepped closer to me. “Don’t.” I said and he stopped, sighing, using his hands to brush his hair out of his face.
“I didn’t want you to see that, Lucia.” He told me. “I.. I didn’t want you to think differently of me.” He said.
I wiped my tears from my face. “You’re a vampire?” I asked, several thoughts running through my head, confusing me.
“Yeah..” Riki answered. “I understand that it’s scary. You.. you don’t have to be scared though, alright? I’m not going to hurt you. I promise.” He said. He then caught sight of himself in your mirror, he did look terrifying right now, especially due to the blood on him.
He suddenly walked into my bathroom, I could hear the faucet run for a few moments before it stopped. Riki then came out a few moments later, the blood gone from his face and his teeth and eyes back to normal.
“Was it a human?” I asked, wanting to know what it was he was drinking blood from.
“No, no. It wasn’t. It was an animal.” Riki answered. “Was all of this.. to, like, feed from me or something?” I then asked, sniffling a little.
“I thought I already answered this?” Riki sighed.
“No, you didn’t. You said it wasn’t all to get in my pants. You didn’t answer this.” I told him.
“Well, it’s not all just to hook up with you or to feed from you.” Riki answered. “Lucia, I got to know you because.. because I like you. Now isn’t the right time to say this, I know that, but if we’re talking about this right now. I’ll tell you. I like you so fucking much, Lucia. When we first met, I.. I felt something I have never felt before. It was more than just a crush, it was different.” He told me.
“What? What do you mean?” I asked.
“Okay, I know this is a lot but, vampires, we have one mate our entire life as a vampire. One. I’ve always been told by all of the guys that you’d know when you’ve met them. When I met you, I knew.” Riki explained.
I took in what he said a few times, trying to fully process it. “I..” I trailed off.
“I understand if you don’t want me to go near you. I understand.” Riki softly said. “You don’t have to tell me how you feel about all that I just said if you’re not ready yet. You can come to me when you’re ready.” Riki then told me. “I’ll- I’ll go. Don’t tell anyone.” Riki then added before leaving you alone.
I spent the whole weekend alone, thinking. I couldn’t figure out if I should go with what my head says is right versus what my heart says is right. Maybe everything happens for a reason? I always tried to think that way. I mean, according to Riki, I’m his mate. Whatever that means.
Monday came and I didn’t go to class, skipping class for the first, and one of the few times that school year. I was laying in bed, staring up at the ceiling when there was suddenly a knock at my door. Shit, it was a teacher, wasn’t it? I mentally prepared myself for the scolding I was expecting to get before opening the door only to be met with not a teacher, but with Riki.
“Lucia.. I’m sorry. I know I said that I’d give you time but-” He starts to talk but I cut him off with a big hug. His cold frame pulled me closer as he wrapped his arms around me in return. I rested my head against Riki’s chest and I felt one of his hands leave my body and go up to my hair, rubbing the back of my head comfortingly. “Come on, let’s go inside so no one sees us.” Riki tells me and I nod, pulling away and going inside of my dorm, Riki following after, shutting the door behind us.
“Can- can I talk to you?” I asked.
“Of course you can.” Riki told me. I took his cold hand in mine and brought him over to my bed, the both of us sitting down next to one another at the end of the bed.
“Um, well, when we first met, even within only the first few days of knowing you.. I really liked you. A lot.” I told him. “I.. I found it weird because I wasn’t the type to like someone so much, so fast.” I explained.
“Mhm, I felt the same.” Riki softly said.
“I.. I don’t know how else to say this but… I… I love you.” I admitted.
“You love me?” Riki asked.
“Yes..” I said, my cheeks getting warmer the more we spoke. “I just.. I’m confused.” I told him.
“Confused about what?” He asked.
“I don’t understand the whole mate thing.” I said.
“Oh, well, a vampire has one mate it’s whole life as a vampire. They usually go a while before meeting them. Um.. this is the person you’re apparently destined to be with. Most of the time.. it’s another vampire but sometimes.. it’s a mortal.” Riki explained.
“So, does the mortal just.. grow old and die while the vampire stays young and lives?” I asked.
“Well, yes, but.. most of the time, the mortal gets turned into a vampire so that they could be together forever.” Riki explained.
“Oh..” I trailed off.
“You don’t- I’m not saying that’s what you have to do.” Riki then quickly said. “You can do whatever you want.” He told me.
“Okay…” I looked down. “Riki… have you ever drank blood from a human before?” I asked.
“Well, I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t.” Riki truthfully answered.
“Have you ever.. killed anyone before?” I then asked.
“I- no. No, I haven’t.” Riki told me. The way he said it make me think he wasn’t completely telling me the truth, but maybe it was better that I didn’t know, not yet, at least.
It’s silent for a few moments once again. “Riki..” I said, breaking the silence.
“Hm?” Riki looked over at me.
“I missed you.” I admitted.
“I missed you too.” He told me, pulling me closer to him and hugging me again. I melted into his embrace, was it weird that I felt safe around him? Suddenly, Riki pulled away a little, taking my face in his big hand, he then leaned down and kissed me. I was shocked at first but then after a few seconds, I got comfortable and kissed him back. His hand made its way to the back of my neck as he deepened the kiss. A little while after we’d started kissing, I pulled away, completely out of breath. Riki, being completely fine.
“I’m never going to hurt you. I promise you that.” Riki told me for the second time, the first time being on the night I’d found out he was a vampire. When he said that, I knew he meant it.
Riki and I lie on my bed, in the dorm. The lights were dark, only the moonlight shining through the window. We were both laying aside from one another, the both of us facing one another as we continued to make-out. Every once in a while, though, I’d pull away, to both catch my breath and to ask a question.
As we kissed, I could feel myself running short of air again so I pulled away. Riki kept his hand on my arm as I caught my breath, already preparing for me to ask him something else.
“I don’t get it. How did you just hold back when I got hurt after the party and bled? You even got blood on you.” I curiously asked.
“It was difficult. I just- I held myself back. I didn’t want to hurt you.” Riki answered.
“Then, what was that in the woods that night, do you know?” I then asked.
“It was.. another vampire. Not one that I was familiar with.” Riki told me.
“Hm..” I thought about it, so he knew that and that’s why he rushed?
Riki interrupted my thoughts as he leaned in and continued kissing me, his hand running up and down my arm. I kissed him back for a few moments before I pulled away again, not because I needed air but because I wanted to ask another question.
“Lucia.” Riki groaned as he threw his head back in fake frustration.
“I want to ask another question.” I pouted. “You’ve asked so many, baby.” He retorted. “It’s my turn to ask a question.” Riki then said.
“Okay, sure.” I excitedly said.
“What the hell were you even doing outside when you caught me that night, huh?” Riki asked.
“Well,” I sheepishly said. “There was a bunny. I saw it through the window and I went outside to pet it and well it ran off and then.. I saw you.” I admitted.
Riki sighed, “I should’ve known it was for a reason like that, nerd.”
I gasped, “Hey! The bunny was cute!”
“I bet it was.” Riki playfully rolled his eyes before leaning in and connecting our lips.
