As the mentors and staff gathered in CEO Jung Sooyeon's office for the monthly trainee evaluation, a somber atmosphere filled the room. They had just discussed a trainee named Jaemin, whose potential, despite being apparent, seemed to stagnate.

"It’s really sad," one of the staff members began. "Jaemin has potential, but she’s not working to improve. It’s been a year, and she’s stuck at the same level."

Another staff member chimed in, "We’re not expecting miracles, but there are goals at each level that she should be meeting."

Sooyeon, sitting quietly and listening intently, finally spoke up, her voice laced with regret. "Then it’s agreed. We’ll have to let her go."

She hated these moments. Letting go of trainees was never easy, especially when she could see the potential in them. But she also knew that holding onto someone who wasn’t progressing would only hinder their growth and the company’s goals. It was a tough decision, but sometimes it was necessary.

After discussing a few more trainees, they moved on to the next file—Micha’s. As her name came up, the atmosphere in the room shifted. The vocal mentor, who had been particularly invested in Micha’s development, looked troubled.

"It really baffled me what happened during Micha’s performance the other day," the mentor began, her tone reflecting a mix of confusion and concern. "In the beginning, Micha was truly clueless about singing techniques, which was understandable since she didn’t have any formal background in it. But later on, she started improving. I truly expected her to be one of the top five in vocals among the trainees if she kept up her hard work in the next years."

Sooyeon nodded, leaning forward slightly" after watching her perform what do you think happened?"

The vocal mentor sighed, shaking her head. "Her vocals seemed to close up on themselves. The performance was shaky, and in some parts, unstable. It wasn’t like her. She had been doing so well, and then, suddenly, it was like she lost all her confidence."

The room fell silent as they absorbed the mentor’s words. Micha was a trainee who is in terms of entertainment companies is considered a hidden gem, that with the right training can shine but it isn't shown yet and her potential is still hidden somewhere inside of her.

"Is it nerves?" one of the other staff members suggested. "Maybe the pressure is getting to her?"

"Could be," the vocal mentor replied. "But I think it’s more than just nerves. It’s like she’s second-guessing herself. We might need to work on her confidence as much as her technique."

Sooyeon sighed, feeling the weight of the responsibility on her shoulders. Micha was one of the most promising trainees they had, but if she couldn’t overcome this hurdle, her path to debut might be in jeopardy.

The mentors and staff nodded in agreement.

"I think it's not just her vocals," the dance mentor began, his tone serious. "I've noticed the same thing in her dance training. Micha’s not as confident in her dance anymore, and I think that's showing up in her singing as well. Lately, during practices, she’s been gravitating towards the back of the room, almost as if she’s trying to hide."

The room went silent as the mentors exchanged glances, each of them understanding the implications.

"I believe Micha needs to work on her confidence more," the dance mentor continued. "She has the talent, that’s for sure, but if she doesn’t believe in herself, no matter how much we encourage her, we’re going to keep seeing the same results. She needs to find that belief from within."

After the dance mentor finished speaking, Sooyeon noticed that Saebi had remained unusually quiet throughout the discussion. Normally, she would be the first to offer insights or suggestions, especially when it came to Micha, whom she had scouted personally. As the conversation moved on to other trainees, Sooyeon kept an eye on Saebi, sensing that she might have something important on her mind.

When the meeting finally concluded, Sooyeon asked everyone to leave except for Saebi. The door closed softly behind the last mentor, leaving the two women alone in the room.

"Saebi," Sooyeon began gently, "I noticed you were quiet during the discussion about Micha. You’ve always had a strong opinion, and I’d like to hear your thoughts. What do you think is really going on with her?"

Saebi took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts before speaking. "Micha is still very young," she started, her voice calm but tinged with concern. "She’s only thirteen, and while that’s not an excuse, it’s important to remember that she’s still figuring herself out. Micha is very aware of her disadvantages—whether it's her lack of experience or the high expectations placed on her because of her visuals. She knows she has to work twice as hard to meet those standards."

Sooyeon nodded, encouraging her to continue.

"I think part of the issue is that Micha is so focused on the technical aspects of her performance," Saebi continued. "She’s constantly worrying about hitting every note perfectly, executing every dance move with precision. I think she started focusing more on that after she noticed how behind she was compared to other girls, But in doing so, she’s losing sight of the bigger picture—enjoying the performance, expressing herself through her art. She’s so caught up in the mechanics that she’s forgetting to feel the music, to let go and just enjoy the moment."

Sooyeon listened intently, understanding where Saebi was coming from. Micha’s desire for perfection, while admirable, was becoming a barrier to her growth.

"She’s also very self-critical," Saebi added. "Micha I think as a person tends to internalize every little mistake, which only adds to her anxiety. Instead of brushing it off and moving forward, she dwells on it, and it starts to affect her confidence. And when her confidence wavers, everything else starts to fall apart."

Sooyeon sighed, nodding in agreement. "You’re right, Saebi. Micha’s mindset is holding her back as much as anything else."

Saebi smiled faintly. "She’s got the talent, and she’s got the drive, but she needs to learn how to trust herself more. To enjoy the journey, not just focus on the destination."

"So, what do you think we should do?" Sooyeon asked.

"I’ll talk to her," Saebi said firmly. "No to criticize what she is doing wrong, I think she heard enough of that, but it will be like an eye opening for her."

Sooyeon felt a sense of relief wash over her. If anyone could help Micha, it was Saebi. "Thank you, Saebi. I know you’ll do what’s best for her."

Saebi nodded, determination in her eyes. "I won’t let her give up on herself, Sooyeon. I promise."

In the cozy dorm, the girls were buzzing with excitement as they planned a movie night. They'd spent the day training hard and now all they wanted was to relax and have fun together. Micha, however, was momentarily distracted, texting Mina to ask if she wanted to partner up for their science project. Mina and Micha had always worked well together, so it was natural for Micha to reach out. She sent a couple of messages, but there was no response. Micha frowned at her phone, sending another text just in case, but still, nothing.

Before she could dwell on it too much, Danielle popped her head into Micha’s room. "Micha! Dinner’s ready, and we’re about to start the movie. Come on, let’s go!" she called out cheerfully.

Micha quickly put her phone down, not wanting to worry her friends. "Coming!" she replied, following Danielle to the living room where the rest of the girls were already gathered around the coffee table, which was loaded with snacks.

Minji had prepared a variety of dishes, from ramen to tteokbokki, and the girls were digging in happily. Hanni had even brought out a special dessert—homemade brownies that were still warm from the oven.

As they settled down to eat, Hyein grabbed the remote and started scrolling through the movie options. "What are we watching tonight?" she asked.

"How about a comedy?" Haerin suggested, already munching on a piece of fried chicken.

"A horror movie!" Hanni chimed in with a mischievous grin. "Let’s see who screams the loudest!"

"Nooo," Micha protested, shaking her head vigorously. "You know I hate horror!"

Hanni laughed and ruffled Micha’s hair. "Okay, okay, no horror then. But you know it would’ve been fun!"

Eventually, they settled on a light-hearted comedy that everyone could enjoy. As the movie played, the girls made comments, laughed at the funny scenes, and tossed popcorn at each other when someone made a joke that was just a little too cheesy.

In between scenes, Hanni started sharing random facts to keep the mood lively. "Did you know when I was a trainee I was in a good relationship with the BTS sunbaenim members?" she said casually, earning surprised looks from the others.

"Really?!" Micha exclaimed, eyes wide with curiosity.

"Yeah," Hanni continued, leaning back with a grin. "And I was pretty close with the maknae line."

Hyein’s jaw dropped. "Wait, you were hanging out with BTS sanbaenim ? I'm so jealous! I know that they debuted recently but they sound really good"

Micha nodded in agreement, her eyes twinkling with interest. "Me too! I actually think yoongi oppa looks so cool" she admitted with a shy smile, causing everyone to burst into playful laughter.

"No way! Yoongi oppa, really?" Minji teased, nudging Micha’s shoulder.

The room erupted in laughter, with Hanni teasing Micha, "Aigoo, our little Micha has a crush on Yoongi oppa!"

"Yeah, well, he's really talented," Micha defended herself, her cheeks turning a little pink. "Plus, he’s got that mysterious vibe, you know?"

"She’s right," Haerin said thoughtfully. "Yoongi oppa does have that charm."

Micha blushed and quickly tried to change the subject. "Anyway, who’s picking the next movie?" But the girls didn't let her off the hook that easily, and the night was filled with more teasing, laughter, and bonding.

As the night went on, the conversation became more lighthearted, with the girls sharing funny stories and teasing each other. They even started playing games, like seeing who could guess the next line in the movie or trying to mimic the actors’ voices.

At one point, Danielle challenged Micha to an arm-wrestling match, claiming that all the practice in dance had made her stronger. Micha took up the challenge, only to be dramatically defeated, much to everyone’s amusement.

"You should stick to singing and dancing, Micha!" Danielle teased as Micha pouted, rubbing her ‘sore’ arm.

"Just you wait, unnie, I’ll beat you one day!" Micha shot back, laughing along with the others.

As the movie ended and the credits rolled, the girls were sprawled out on the couches, full from the dinner and snacks. They were content, enjoying each other’s company and the warmth of their close-knit friendship.

With the laughter still lingering in the air, Micha realized how much she appreciated these moments with her girls. No matter what worries or distractions she had, being with them always made her feel at ease.

Despite all of this, Micha's thoughts occasionally drifted back to Mina’s silence, but she tried to push those worries aside and enjoy the moment with her friends. The night ended with all of them piled on the couch, drowsy from laughter and the comfort of each other's company.

The founder

When the famous producer Jung sooyeon decided to start her own entertainment company with better environment for young trainees, she found a lot of opposition from many people, even from people who she thought were her friends. But she wasn't surprised, she knew this would happen in a male dominated industry. But that didn't stop her but motivated her more to realize her dream. In recent interview with Forbes magazine she stated that some days she couldn't afford meals and sold her car for a bike to make ends meet. At first the small company had a few trainees that sooyeon personally selected them and among them were the future six membres of newjeans. For the girls, sooyeon was like a mother to them she would always nag if they had their meals and would take them out to eat even if she had little to no money to spend, she would always smile when she sees them enjoy their food. In all of the press conference the founder always said that she may founded Ador, but the girls were the one to built it and be successful without newjeans there will be no Ador of today.

Her relationship with micha

When sooyeon first met Micha, of course when first cought her attention was her visual she wouldn't deny that, she remembered clearly thinking she is only thirteen and looks this pretty what will happen when she grows up. But she was painfully timid that she was worried about her, but surprisingly that seemed to change and she noticed unlike before when Micha performed with the trainees she seemed to shine even if she danced in the back of the group you can't help but look at her. Now Micha like to tease her by quoting the things she says, meanwhile sooyeon always keeps Micha favorite sweets in her office.

The group manager

If sooyeon was the mother and the girls literally call her " eomma" then kim hanbin is their "appa", he is one of the few people he believed in sooyeon and her vision. When he accepted to be the manager of the girls he didn't think that he will grow white hairs earlier than it should. With every minute with them he felt like he aged a century yet he truly loves them, he is protective over each one of them. He doesn't mind knocking some bastard down if it means they are safe. And it is the same thing for Micha he honestly doesn't have a favorite, all six of them are his daughters.

When the girls started getting busy, hanbin found it best if each girl has her own team who she gets along with and can pick themselves. So Micha picked her pretty unnie who gave her free candies and was her mentor throughout her whole journey, jeong saebi. Saebi truly has the patience of a saint, if Micha was managing herself she would've run for her life a long time ago, she can be handful at times but she is thankful for saebi for sticking with her and believing in her. Saebi knew Micha like the back of her hand and see her like a daughter, bunnies can't get enough of their interactions.

Personal stylist

When ye hea first come to the company, she was really shy. But as soon she was assigned to Micha all hell break loose, they became chaotic duo. Micha can be quiet picky of what she wants to wear. But together the came out with some iconic looks. Hea said that she loved dressing her up first because she has a great figure that anything looks good on her, especially now that became older and can try more daring looks.

Main makeup artist

Han mina is the closest to age to Micha in all her dream team, fun fact Micha was the one to ask for her after she watched videos of her work on Instagram and really liked her style. Mina didn't even imagine once in her life to have an opportunity like this therefore she is forever grateful for Micha.

Main hairstylist

Min seojun came later in the group, at first he didn't know how to fit in among the group, but it was easier than he thought. The group accepted him and tried to make him participate in everything they did together. To be honest he judged Micha falsely before meeting her. He thought that she was that arrogant rich celebrity he had to work for. But after meeting her all of those judgements went down the drain. She was just a mischievous little girl who just wanted to act her age and play around with the people she loves.

Main bodyguards

The handsome oppas as bunnies call them, park minho is a fun guy to be around despite his huge built, he reminds Micha of a giant teddy bear he shares her love for sweets and always jokes around with her, but he takes his job in protecting her seriously, whether jongdae is a more on the quiet side and Micha took it her life mission to crack him. When saebi told him good luck, he didn't take it seriously I mean how hard it would be to protect a little 16 year old, it was his big mistake underestimating her. If he even take his eyes off of her one minute he wouldn't know where she wandered off. People sometimes jock that he had to take care of Micha and minho. Even though jongdae doesn't know how to show his love but he truly cares from Micha and wouldn't change her for the world till the point that he named his daughter after her.
