#AngiesReadingAdventure Circe by Madeline Miller Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ In the beginning, I thought I was going to have a DNF book for the first time! The beginning for me was slow. The more I read the more it became interesting to see Circe’s journey on her own island and with being a goddess. For me it got juicy once Odysseus came on her island and their story together resulting into a child. Her as a mother was emotional and reflective reading since she’s going all she can to protect him but also fixing her past mistakes. What did you think? Have you read it? #AngiesReadingAdventure Not Like The Movies by Kerry Winfrey Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Maybe it’s the emotional week I’ve had so far but I wasn’t that impressed with this. It was cute in the references of the classic rom-com movies like When Harry Met Sally and Monster in Law. I also loved how Annie made a book then a movie about a fictional love story of Nick and Chloe. I feel like through out the book I got frustrated with Chloe and her decisions as well as the way she talks to those that love her. Plus we love a MOC love interest! P.S. did you know June is also Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness month? In the book, Chloe’s dad has Alzheimer’s who lives in a home. The way this disease was put in this book reminded me of how it was the journey of seeing my abuela lose her memories. Have you read this book? Let me know! Reading it was difficult because it’s been YEARS since I read the series and whew had to stop reading at different points to take it all in.
