After nearly two-hundred live performances spanning two international tours, Louis Tomlinson is celebrating the end of era on the road that spanned three years. On Thursday, the musician shared Live, a record captured across 15 different shows in 15 different cities.
“I’ve been lucky enough to spend the last 3 years touring the world twice over, the feeling I get sharing those live moments will be with me forever,” Tomlinson shared in a statement. “To be able to record these songs from all over the world and put them out as an album like this feels so special, and a real tribute to the fans who make each and every show feel unique and incredible. Thank you! Enjoy!”
The album features live performances from both the Louis Tomlinson World Tour — which was cut short in 2020 and resumed in 2022 — and the Faith in the Future World Tour, which kicked off in 2023 in support of the singer’s sophomore studio album of the same name. Combined, the tours included 170 shows in 47 countries across 5 continents.
Tomlinson captured performances of popular singles “We Made It” and “Walls” from his debut solo album Walls and “Written All Over Your Face,” “Silver Tongues,” and “Out of My System” from Faith in the Future. The album features recordings from London, Nashville, Vancouver, Barcelona, Chicago, Budapest, Paris, and more.
The digital version of Live is available now, with physical editions for the record set for release on Aug. 23 on a double CD and 2LP picture disc vinyl.

Louis Tomlinson has dropped a surprise album ‘Live’ – featuring songs that he recorded at 15 shows across 15 different cities.
Announced and shared yesterday (April 25), the album comes after the singer and former One Direction member embarked on two world tours over the past three years – playing just shy of 200 shows globally.
Now, a variety of performances from both tours – the ‘Louis Tomlinson World Tour’ and the ‘Faith in the Future World Tour’ – have been compiled into a new live album, which is available now.
Fifteen songs are included in the tracklist, and each was recorded in a different city, at a different show from across the three-year run. The album comes in both digital and physical formats, and features his singles including ‘Bigger Than Me’, ‘We Made It, ‘Walls’ and ‘Out Of My System’, alongside fan favourite album tracks, all released live for the very first time.
“I’ve been lucky enough to spend the last 3 years touring the world twice over. The feeling I get sharing those live moments will be with me forever,” Tomlinson said in a statement. “To be able to record these songs from all over the world and put them out as an album like this feels so special, and a real tribute to the fans who make each and every show feel unique and incredible. Thank you! Enjoy!”
There are four exclusive tracks split between the physical editions of ‘Live’, including a special version of the One Direction classic ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go’ – which is available only on the double CD.
Accompanying video clips of compiled tour footage will be shared on Louis’s social channels to support the release, showcasing a glimpse into his past three years on the road and 170 performances.
Tumblr media
The ‘Live’ tracklist is:
‘The Greatest’ (Live From London, 17 November 2023) ‘Face The Music’ (Live From Nashville, 18 July 2023) ‘Bigger Than Me’ (Live From Vancouver, 26 June 2023) ‘Holding On To Heartache’ (Live From Barcelona, 6 October 2023) ‘We Made It’ (Live From Manila, 16 July 2022) ‘Chicago’ (Live From Chicago, 15 June 2023) ‘Fearless’ (Live From Rio, 27 May 2022) ‘Common People’ (Live From Sheffield, 10 November 2023) ‘All This Time / She Is Beauty We Are World Class’ (Live From Munich, 22 October 2023) ‘Walls’ (Live From Buenos Aires, 21 May 2022) ‘Written All Over Your Face’ (Live From Budapest, 15 September 2023) ‘Out Of My System’ (Live From Brisbane, 30 January 2024) ‘Saturdays’ (Live From Paris, 14 October 2023) ‘Silver Tongues’ (Live From Krakow, 10 September 2023)
At time of writing, Tomlinson has shared two huge solo albums since departing from One Direction. His debut album arrived in the firm of 2020’s ‘Walls’, which has sold over 1.5 million copies, and the follow-up was called ‘Faith In The Future’. The latter went to Number One in the UK, Spain and Belgium, and Top 5 in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and across Europe.
Since May last year, Tomlinson has been on his ‘Faith In The Future World Tour’, which hits South America next month for its final leg. From there, the vocalist has a number of festival appearances lined up for the summer. Find remaining tickets to his shows here.
In other Louis Tomlinson news, earlier this week the singer, alongside Courteeners and English Teacher, were among the acts to be honoured at the first-ever Northern Music Awards.
The inaugural ceremony was hosted by the UK’s largest music therapy charity, Nordoff And Robbins and took place at the Albert Hall in Manchester; celebrating northern artists, festivals, venues and industry figures. The event saw Tomlinson named as Artist Of The Year.

Susan meets the War Doctor
12 June 2024
Carole Ann Ford stars in two new box sets of full-cast audio drama, as Susan is reunited with her grandfather – but not as she’s ever known him before.
Tumblr media
No Gallifreyan was safe from the Time War. While the Doctor resisted the call, his granddaughter Susan did her duty and signed up to fight the growing Dalek threat.
Susan (Carole Ann Ford) teams up with the War Doctor (Jonathon Carley) in two brand-new box sets, Susan’s War: Family Ties (due in August 2024) and Susan’s War: Grandfather Time (release date TBC). Each of these box sets contains two episodes of exciting audio drama.
Family Ties and Grandfather Time continue the story of the 2020 release, Susan’s War. That box set featured Susan meeting the Eighth Doctor, at a time when he was reluctant to join the fight. Now, as they’re brought together on new missions for the Time Lords, she must come to terms with her grandfather being a very different man – the War Doctor is ready for battle.
The Worlds of Doctor Who – Susan’s War: Family Ties and Grandfather Time are now available to pre-order as collector’s edition CD box sets (+ download for just £15.99 each) or as digital downloads only (for just £12.99 each), exclusively here.
The stories in Family Ties are:
The Lost Son by Sarah Cassidy  The Golden Child by Peter Anghelides
And, the stories in Grandfather Time are:
The Last of the Kaleds by David Llewellyn The Voord Alliance by Andrew Smith
Producer Heather Challands said: “It's my privilege to continue the story of Susan. Carole Ann Ford takes the lead so well and it's so exciting to have her front-and-centre in these stories, tackling the Time War. These episodes really confront Susan with the family that she's lost, and the family she still has! For the first time, she's going to meet the War Doctor. But will she approve of what her grandfather has become?”
Script editor Matt Fitton added: “This is a different angle on the Time War – it’s much more to do with diplomacy and espionage. Susan’s not a soldier; she uses her brain and her empathy for forging alliances with other species for the Time Lords. And I like to keep an aspect of the 1960s present, so we touch on characters, situations, and alien races that hark back to the time when Susan was travelling with the Doctor.”
Big Finish listeners can save money by pre-ordering both Family Ties and Grandfather Time as a bundle for just £30 (collector’s edition CD box sets + download) or £25 (download only).
All the above prices include the special pre-order discount and are subject to change after general release.
Please note that Big Finish is currently operating a digital-first release schedule. The mail-out of collector’s edition CDs may be delayed due to factors beyond our control, but all purchases of this release unlock a digital copy that can be immediately downloaded or played on the Big Finish app from the release date.
-- Oooh! They're bringing back Alex Campbell again, I see (Sonny McGann). And Commander Veklin! ( @riversofmars )

Dogengers Guide
With the 5th anniversary season coming soon, I figure it's high time to do a quick introduction to this most notable to Local Hero series. The 5th full entry comes in July, previous series having aired april-june for the past 4 seasons.
Dogengers is a Tokusatsu series featuring Local Heroes based primarily in Fukuoka prefecture, but a few heroes have also appeared from other regions. Many of these heroes are either corporate mascots or at least sponsored by local businesses. Dogengers is also notable for having featured a large number of veteran Tokusatsu actors from major series including 2 season's leads, plus voice actors for certain heroes, some suit actors, and supporting characters. The series has also consistently drawn in huge amounts of revenue for crowdfunding, allowing the successive series to be made.
While most heroes and villains are preexisting, each season's Focus hero is newly developed for that series.
Tumblr media
Dogengers (March-June 2020)
The villainous Aku no Himitsu Kessya, lead by Yabai Kamen, claiming the power of the national treasure the Golden Seal, use it to finally defeat Fukuoka's heroes and take control. Tanaka Jiro, newly returned to Fukuoka after several years, is entrusted by Ohgaman with the power to become Rookie, Fukuoka's last hero, and now must round up the heroes and free Fukuoka from the villain's grasp.
Tumblr media
Dogengers Episode 12.5: Episode of I-Doll (January 2021)
A crowdfunding rewards originally released on the Blu-ray box, serving as an epilogue to the original series.
Just as things seem to have finally been resolved, suddenly Yuki vanishes, alongside those precious items. Tanaka becomes desperate and tires to find them, unaware that I-Doll has been revived and are protecting Yuki, but someone else has also appeared. Tanaka's childhood hero, Great A. What will happen when Rookie and Great A come face to face?
Tumblr media
Dogengers Nice Buddy (April-June 2021)
The Dogengers have ended their time as Fukuoka's premier heroes in scandal, and their spotlight has been taken by Hanagata Tokusatsu, who are reviving their Great Series with Ginga Shinsei Great Z. Great Z uses his Affect System to overwhelm the heroes and kidnaps Yabai Kamen to be the main villain. Hanagata Riku supervises Yabai Kamen's work. In order to reclaim their limelight, the Dogengers must work to rescue their enemy, even aligning with the villains to do so, and out outfitted with the perfect weapons for fighting in pairs, the Ohgaman's newly developed Buddy Buddy Buster.
Tumblr media
Dogengers High School (April-June 2022)
Yamada Mako is an extraordinarily average girl in an exceptionally unusual town. Tired of her average life and not being able to do stand up to bad people, a chance encounter brings her to the spirit Kireko, who takes her as his master and grants her the ability to become Fukuoka's latest hero, MAKO. She must now contend with fighting villains alongside Kireko and her senpai heroes, working with her best friend Shichimi Ryoko to plan her classes cultural festival stand, contend with antagonism from class president Fushimi Akine and strict teacher Osogawa Tori, and find the courage to express her feelings to classmate Yoshihara Daisuke.
A Drama CD for the crowdfunding was entitled "Receptionist Kireko's Diary", seeing the character work for a month as a receptionist for Yamashiro Gas.
Tumblr media
Dogengers High School: Return of Heshikiri Hasebe (September 2022, also produced as a Drama CD)
Mako has finally become a hero and saved Fukuoka, but whoops, they forgot to return Heshikiri Hasebe to the Fukuoka Museum, the Dogengers take a trip there now to return the ancient sword.
Tumblr media
Dogengers Metropolis (April-June 2023)
The battles between heroes and villains have been making things difficult for both the police and the Yakuza. While the Oshikawa Group created the android Yuz-Yuz, who aligns with Aku no Himitsu Kessya while being compelled to steal important items of the Dogengers, while the Metropolitan Police have funded the creation of the special armour SP110-Px, aka Hyakutoban, and granted it to junior patrolman Shiraishi Meguru, as he is assigned by Shoko Sakurada to the Dogengers, alongside his captain Masayoshi Yoriki and instructor Akutagawa Tadasumi. As he and Yuz-Yuz continue to encounter eachother, will she come to understand herself, and can the police finally get Aku no Himitsu Kessya off the streets for good.
A Yuz-Yuz Picture Book, and a drama CD entitled "Land of Shura Steam Murder Case", were rewards for the crowdfunding campaign.
Tumblr media
The Land of Shura's I-deal ~Dogengers 99 Years Later~ (2022-2023)
In the distant future, the Affect System has been redeveloped into the Ideal Reality System, leading to more and more heroes, heroes are only legally allowed to operate by being affiliated with a company. Kujiki Kei, who admires the legendary Dogengers, sets out to become the Hero I-Deal, as Fukuoka finds itself besieged by the Lifted, monstrous enemies in the image of the long dead Aku no Himitsu Kessya.
Tumblr media
A Day of Ohgaman (September 2023)
A documentary crew captures a day of Ohgaman's life, his busy work as CEO of Ohga Pharmacy and fighting villains.
Tumblr media
Shin Dogengers (July-September 2024)
The Dogengers have been fighting successfully for five years. But Yabai Kamen, who has been defeated many times and had many forms, is ready to make his counterattack.

Superman Misses the Point
One of the frustrating things about being interested in old or otherwise obscure media is that sometimes, somebody will popularize a really bad take on that thing, and it's hard to critique or even just complain about the bad take because too few people are familiar with the original. This extends to insulting homages (e.g., the loathsome THRILLING ADVENTURE HOUR, of which the less said the better), offensive pastiches (e.g., Tom King's horrific MR. MIRACLE comic), and misguided remakes and adaptations of various kinds.
I regret to say that one of the latter is this much-praised 2019–2020 miniseries by Gene Luen Yang and Gurihiru:
Tumblr media
This story is an adaptation of perhaps the most famous storyline of the 1940s ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN radio series, "The Clan of the Fiery Cross," originally aired on the Mutual network in June–July 1946. It also borrows a big chunk of another famous radio storyline, "Superman vs. the Atom Man," originally broadcast between September and December 1945. I use the word "famous" advisedly because the number of people who have heard OF these stories exceeds by a considerable margin the number of people who've actually HEARD them, although all episodes of both storylines survive, and the "Atom Man" story was released some years ago on CD and cassette with a nice booklet about the history of the Superman radio show.
Yang HAS clearly listened to both radio storylines, and his essay "Superman and Me" (included as an afterword in the trade paperback version of SUPERMAN SMASHES THE KLAN) gives a pretty good overview of the context of the "Fiery Cross" story.
In SUPERMAN SMASHES THE KLAN, he directly adapts some parts of the radio stories while making some significant changes to others. Some of his changes are improvements, but some are not, and ultimately serve to rather badly undermine the point of the original storyline.
Tumblr media
It's unfortunate because "The Clan of the Fiery Cross" is one of the most potent of the numerous pro-tolerance stories presented in the ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN radio series during this period. It followed only a few weeks after a 25-part serial called "The Hate Mongers," and was followed over the next two and a half years by, among others, "George Latimer, Crooked Political Boss" (in which a right-wing political fixer orders state troopers to turn tommyguns on a crowd of veteran protestors and then frames a Jewish veteran for attempted murder); "Knights of the White Carnation" (about another hate group murdering people in Metropolis); and "The Man Without a Face" (about an escaped Nazi war criminal trying to eliminate a young concentration camp survivor who's the only one able to identify him).
What makes "Fiery Cross" stand out is that it really doesn't pull a lot of punches. Some of the radio show's other storylines of similar bent are very cautious; they criticize prejudice against someone "of a different race" rather than saying "Black" or "Chinese," and "goes to a different church" rather than saying "Jewish" (even when that's what they mean), which ends up kind of blunting the point. By contrast, the Clan of the Fiery Cross is plainly meant to represent the KKK, both through references to Klan rituals (apparently courtesy of information provided by reporter Stetson Kennedy) and in the things they do, which include burning a cross on a Chinese family's lawn and attempting to tar and feather their kid! There's not a lot of hedging except in the name of the organization, which wasn't fooling anyone.
To explain how Yang's treatment of this story goes sideways, it's necessary to explain some finer points about the storylines, including the endings of the two versions, so I'll put that behind the cut.
The basic premise of the radio storyline is that young Tommy Lee, a Chinese-American high school student who's also a pitcher on the baseball team of Unity House (an interfaith youth center that figures in a number of radio storylines), becomes a target of the Clan of the Fiery Cross for two reasons: an innocent accident involving another player, a loudmouth named Chuck Riggs whose uncle Matt is secretly the Clan's Grand Scorpion, and the fact that Tommy's father, a well-known bacteriologist, has just taken a well-paying new job with the city health department that another Clansman, Jennings, had expected to get as a political favor.
After terrorizing the Lees, most of the Clan's "action committee" is captured by Superman and arrested, whereupon the now-unmasked Clansmen immediately begin squealing on one another. However, Matt Riggs manages to escape, and goes to find the Clan's "Grand Imperial Mogul," Segret (or Cedric) Wilson, hoping to call in reinforcements from the Clan's national organization.
This leads to the radio storyline's arguably most provocative point: Wilson reveals that the Clan of the Fiery Cross is really just a pyramid scheme, raking in millions by giving thousands of rubes someone else to blame for their own failings, which means true-believer Riggs is both a sucker and a liability. Wilson nearly shoots Riggs, who kills him instead.
In SUPERMAN SMASHES THE KLAN, there's a similar confrontation between Riggs and Wilson, but with a significantly different upshot:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, rather than a more or less real organization with a credible (if reprehensible) goal and all-too-real methods, the comic suddenly becomes about making super-weapons to fight Superman, taking a hard swerve from reality to fantasy.
I should note here that part of what Yang has tried to do with his adaptation of this story is to make the point that Superman himself is an immigrant. That's something the radio series does NOT do and that Superman media in general has mostly gone out of its way to avoid, sometimes in really distasteful ways, but it is a natural enough move in a story like this. Yang's strategy for accomplishing that involves some major departures from the radio continuity that I find jarring, but that's a complaint rather than a critique.
The problem, as I see it, is that when you're talking about immigration, racism, and racial violence, making it ABOUT Superman kind of loses the plot. Superman is a character who doesn't have any real-world analogue: He's a super-powered man from another planet who does impossible good deeds on a daily basis. Even to the extent that he is "real" within the context of these stories, a) he is for all intents and purposes a white man; b) he is never going to be in any really serious physical danger, due both to his powers and plot armor; and c) he consistently upholds and defends the status quo in useful, dramatic, public ways. Thus, Superman's experience as an immigrant is never going to be remotely comparable to the experience of immigrants of color and their children, and suggesting that it would be is honestly kind of insulting.
Additionally, the way modern comics and comics-based media try to create straw man arguments about mistrust of Superman is more than a little ridiculous. As presented in the radio show, Superman would be capable of laying waste to Metropolis in a matter of hours, and there wouldn't be much anybody could do about it; the fact that Superman is always selfless and always trustworthy (and that you can always safely assume he's selfless and trustworthy) is really the most fantastical aspect of the whole mythos. It's perfectly reasonable for people to be nervous about Superman, and the assertion that only Bad People would be uncomfortable about his unchecked personal power does not bear close analysis even within the dubious politics of superhero stories.
Anyway! Returning to the radio storyline: After killing Wilson, Matt Riggs returns to Metropolis, where he tries to convince his rapidly dwindling pool of cronies to help him murder Tommy Lee, Jimmy Olsen, and his own nephew so they can't testify against the Clan or Riggs. In the climactic sequence, Superman captures Riggs at a Unity House-Metropolis High baseball game just in time to prevent Riggs from shooting the three boys with a high-powered rifle. Riggs at this point in the story doesn't have any grand scheme other than not getting caught and silencing witnesses who could send him to prison; I imagine if he succeeded in that, his next step would be to turn on his fellow Clansmen for chickening out, but he obviously hasn't thought that far ahead.
In SUPERMAN SMASHES THE KLAN, Riggs instead shows up at the baseball stadium in full Klan regalia, unmasked and armed with Kryptonite-powered weapons to fight Superman, whom he publicly "outs" as both an immigrant and an extraterrestrial:
Tumblr media
After using his Kryptonite-powered weaponry to knock Superman around for a few pages, Riggs reveals that he's wearing an explosive vest and intends to martyr himself to make Metropolis pay for harboring Superman, or something:
Tumblr media
After Superman destroys his explosive vest, Riggs stabs Superman with a Kryptonite knife, but Superman manages not to drop him, so Riggs survives to be arrested. Afterwards, Metropolis embraces Superman's immigrant status, and the Lee family lives happily ever after.
Tumblr media
(There's a cute coda with Lois Lane offering Tommy Lee's younger sister Roberta a cub reporter job with the DAILY PLANET.)
I'm trying hard not to kvetch too much about the various departures from the radio continuity (for instance, in the radio show, Superman being from another planet was already public knowledge by the time of this story, and in fact, Lois revealing that information in a DAILY PLANET story directly precipitated the whole Atom Man saga!), which I don't love, but which I'm willing to accept as Yang's authorial prerogative.
However, I can't help but regard the revised ending as a real weakening of the original radio storyline. The radio story is not ultimately about Superman; he functions mainly as a plot device. It's about how a vicious white supremacist nearly causes a great deal of harm before learning that even his own white supremacist superiors consider him a deluded sucker who's only useful as a revenue-generator, and who in the end probably goes to prison for attempted murder, discredited and shunned even by his erstwhile brethren. In making the story ABOUT Superman, Yang ends up validating Riggs and the Klan in a way I'm certain he did not intend; the villains now have a "real" plan (raising money to protect Metropolis and America from the threat of Superman), and Riggs gets to make a big speech that will probably win him more support even if he ends up in prison.
The damage Yang's changes do to the intent of the story goes beyond that to weaken the basic logic of the plot. In the radio storyline, there's nothing sinister about the health department or Dr. Lee's job; he's singled out because a Clan member, Will Jennings, wanted his job (which Jennings later admits he wasn't actually even qualified for). In the comic, Jennings is Lee's coworker and one of Wilson's cronies in the secret plot taking place in the health department basement (in which Dr. Lee is an apparently unwitting pawn). If Wilson himself hired Lee and Lee was contributing to his scheme, knowingly or not, why have the Klan burn a cross on his lawn? I think we're supposed to read it as Riggs being a loose cannon, but if Wilson is right there and Riggs' actions are messing with the plan, why wouldn't he rein him in sooner? (In the radio storyline, Wilson lives in another state, and until Riggs shows up at his door, he hasn't been directly involved in anything that's been going on except presumably to cash checks.)
Not only does this make little sense, it undermines a recurring theme of this and the other anti-bigotry radio stories: that bigotry is often tied to, if not driven by, mundane material concerns, whether it's wanting to control who gets cushy state jobs (as in the "George Latimer" storyline) or jealousy over a desirable job or a position on a team. THAT is all too real, and not a bad lesson for a radio show like THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN.
Yang injects a heavy dose of feel-good uplift to the end of his version, but it leaves me wondering what the point was supposed to be, which is NOT a great takeaway for a book entitled SUPERMAN SMASHES THE KLAN.
Some of the changes to the story are fine: In particular, Yang fleshes out the Lee family in a way they're really not in the radio show, and there are moments that both ring true and serve the themes of the story, like a scene where Roberta is invited to the movies by some white friends only to realize the movie is a FLASH GORDON pastiche with a Yellow Peril menace as the villain. However, on the big stuff, Yang drops the ball, which is really a shame.
If you've read SUPERMAN SMASHES THE KLAN, or even thought about reading it, I strongly encourage you to listen to the actual "Clan of the Fiery Cross" radio storyline. You can find the 16 episodes online easily enough, and a number of people have edited the storyline together into a single audio file with commercials, introductions, and recaps deleted, which brings the whole thing down to a relatively digestible two hours and 50-some minutes. (At that, it's only a little longer than the awful Zack Snyder live-action Superman features, and a much better use of your time.)
The "Atom Man" story is also excellent — it has a few lulls along the way, but it's one of the most interesting and exciting Superman stories of any era, with genuine suspense, many twists and turns, a thoroughly risible villain (voiced by radio actor Mason Adams, also a regular on INNER SANCTUM), and an appropriately spectacular finale. However, the whole saga (including the introductory storyline where the world learns of Kryptonite) is 51 quarter-hour episodes, so it represents a much bigger time commitment even in edited form.

Taylor Alison Swift (13/10/2023)
Taylor Alison Swift was born December 13 1989 to Andra and Scott Swift. On March 11th, 1992, Taylors' younger brother Austin Swift was born. He became an actor and helps his sister with some of her music-related things. Taylor and her brother were born in Reading Pennsylvania. When Taylor was 14 she and her family moved to Nashville Tennessee and Taylor went to pursue her career in country music. In November of 2004, Taylor signed to the, at the time nonexistent, record label Big Machine Records owned by Scott Borchette. Taylor made a few demo CDs that she would give to people to promote herself and her music to people.
In June of 2006 Taylor debuted her first single Tim McGraw, she wrote the song as an ode to a lover who would be leaving town. The song served as an introduction to her self-titled debut album. Taylor Swift, otherwise known as Debut or Self-Titled, was released on October 24th, 2006, and contained the singles Teardrops on My Guitar, Our Song, Picture To Burn, and Should’ve Said No. The album became the longest-charting album of the 2000s, spreading 227 weeks on the Billboard 100. Taylor wrote or co-wrote every song from the album during her freshman year of high school.
In 2006 and later re-released in 2009 Taylor released a holiday collection. The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection EP was the first and only Christmas collection that Taylor has released. The collection includes four country-pop-styled covers of the songs Last Christmas, Santa Baby, Silent Night and White Christmas. Along with two of her previously unreleased tracks Christmases When You Were Mine and Christmas Must Be Something More.
Between the release of her Debut and her sophomore album Taylor released an EP titled Beutiful Eyes which had Teardrops on My Guitar Acoustic Version, Should’ve Said No Alternative Version, and two previously unreleased tracks titled Beutiful Eyes, and I Heart ? It was never released on streaming and the CDs are now considered rare.
On November 11, 2008, Fearless was released as her sophomore album, which had the singles Fifteen, Love Story, White Horse, and You Belong With Me. Taylor considered this album to be her breakthrough moment as Fearless was her first number-one and became the most-awarded country album. Taylor Swift, who was 20 at the time, was the youngest person to have won Album of The Year until 2020 when Billie won.
During the 2009 VMAs when Taylor was accepting an award for Fearless rapper Kanye West climbed on stage and rudely interrupted her. Swift looked noticeably deflated by West's comments with ‘Boos” erupting from the ground. Fun Fact: Taylor used to be a Kanye fan. When Taylor later recounted on the events, she said she was really excited because she had just won the award, and then excited because Kanye was on stage and then she just wasn't excited anymore. Taylor's mom apparently yelled at him for doing this to Taylor. Kanye, following the incident, apologized on his blog and to Taylor. Taylor released a song called Innocent on her third album forgiving him for the 2009 VMAs incident but let's put a pin in this for now.
In 2009 Taylor appeared on an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investication. She played as Haley Jones in Turn, Turn, Turn.
Following the success of Fearless people had doubts about Taylor's songwriting ability. Taylor wrote her third album Speak Now alone to prove these people wrong. Speak Now was released on October 25, 2010. It contained the singles Mine, Back To December, Mean, The Story Of Us, and Ours. Speak Now won many awards including a Grammy for Best Country Album.
In 2010 Taylor also played a role in Valentine's Day in which she played as Felicia Miller. She also contributed to the soundtrack with Today Was A Fairytale and Jump Than Fall.
On October 22nd, 2012, Taylor released her fourth album Red. While at the same time, she went through a dramatic visual change as she straightened her curly hair and had started her shift towards pop music with the album containing a mix of pop and country. Red had songs such as I Knew You Were Trouble, 22, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, and Everything Has Changed were Billboard charting singles at the time they released. Red was nominated for a Grammy for Album Of The Year. Rolling Stones named All Too Well the best song of the 2010s.
In 2012 The Lorax came out. bit weird to be mentioning The Lorax in a Taylor Swift essay huh? But did you know Taylor had a role in The Lorax? In 2012 Taylor Swift was the voice for Audrey. Bit of a fun fact for you.
Also in 2012, Taylor worked on the soundtrack for The Hunger Games. She and The Civals Wars produced Safe And Sound for the movie.
In 2013 Taylor was in an episode of New Girl, where she played as Elaine.
Taylor's fifth album, 1989, named after her birthyear, was released on October 27th, 2014, and was her official switch into pop music. 1989 has her biggest hits to this day titled Blank Space, Style, Out Of The Woods, Shake It Off, Bad Blood, and Wildest Dreams. 1989 was the only album in 2014 to sell a million copies in its first week. 1989 won a Grammy for Album of The Year making Taylor the first woman to win Album of The Year twice for two different genres.
Also in 2014, Taylor played Rosemary in the movie adaptation of The Giver.
Around the time of Taylors' Grammy win she became entangled in a heavily publicized feud with Kanye West (remember the pin, it getting taken out now) Following the incident back in 2009 at the VMAs the two had seemed to have moved on and were even seen together at multiple events, nice right? It was until 2016 when Kanye released a song called Famous in which he calls her a “bitch” and claims he made her famous, not to mention an incredibly disgusting music video. Taylor responded to the song by claiming that she never said he could call her that. She never signed off on the line. But then Kanye and his then-wife Kim Kardashian leaked an edited version of the phone call that made it seem as if Taylor was lying. Taylor was canceled, called a liar, a snake, and had people making fun of her “downfall”. Taylor removed herself from social media and the public eye following the backlash. Later the full phone call was leaked proving that Taylor did in fact not sign off on the line.
During the time of the drama Taylor went on a hiatus, breaking her cycle of releasing an album every two years. During this time she worked on songs such as This is What You Came For with her at the time boyfriend Calvin Harris under a pseudonym (the song of which she has just recently gotten credit for), a country song (outtake from Red) called Better Man that she sold and featured on to Little Big Town, and I Don’t Want To Live Forever With ZAYN that featured in the film Fifty Shades Darker.
On August 18th, 2017, Taylor wiped her social media accounts to tease the release of Look What You Made Me Do, which was released at the end of the month. Her sixth studio album Reputation came out on November 10th of the same year featuring the singles …Ready For It?, End Game, and Delicate. The record was her biggest sale at the time, selling over 1.2 million copies in the USA during its first week. Reputation also became the best-selling album of 2018.
Reputation was Taylors' last album with Big Machine Records before signing with Republic Records. Following her new contract, Scott Borcettha sold her albums masters to Scooter Braun, her first six albums that she wanted to own the masters for. Swift described her disappointment on social media but vowed to re-record her stolen albums so that she could own them. Apparently, Scooter didn't think that she would be album to do this successfully but at almost four re-records down (pin that for a second) you can see who's winning that.
Taylor was dedicated to artistic ownership and it became a large focus point of her 2019 album, released on August 23, Lover. She co-produced most of the tracks on the album, as well as directing or co-directing each of the music videos. The album featured the initial singles ME!, Lover, The Man, and You Need To Calm Down. Cruel Summer was later released as a single in the summer of 2023. In November of 2019 the American Music Awards named Taylor Artist of the decade. Taylor also, in the same night, beat Micheal Jacksons' record to become the artist with the most AMA awards in history, this one being her 29th award. The next month Billboards named Taylor the Artist of The Decade.
Fun fact in 2019 Taylor was in the infamous movie Cats. She played the cat Bombaurina. In the movie, she sings Macavity.
In January of 2020, Taylor released a documentary called Miss Americana that showed fans a glimpse of Taylor's life and decision to speak up on politics. The documentary featured a song called Only The Young that Taylor wrote while she was recording Lover.
Following the Covid-19 pandemic Taylor yet again switched in genres. On July Taylors'Taylors' 8th album Folklore was released after being surprise announced just the day before. The only single from the album was Cardigan. Folklore has a more alternative sound and instead of being autobiographical, like Taylors' work normally was, it was focused on telling other people's stories. The album included the Folklore Love Triangle which is three songs. Cardigan, Betty, and August, each told the perspective of three different people who as the name suggests, is about a love triangle. Betty (Cardigan) was dating James (Betty), but then James cheated on her with a girl named Augustine (August). James ends up choosing Betty in the end.
She later released Folklore: The Long Pond Studios Sessions on Disney+ where she performed the whole album live for the first time. Folklore won Album of The Year in March 2021 making Taylor the first woman and fourth artist to win Album of The Year three times.
Another surprise project, a follow-up album titled Evermore was released on December 11th, 2020, two days before Taylors' birthday. Evermore expanded on the stories told in its sister album Folklore. The only single from the album being Willow.
In 2021 Taylor refocused on regaining her ownership over her work and to make the re-records more exciting and different she included From The Vault tracks which were songs that had been scrapped from albums and were unreleased.
She kicked off the first re-record era by releasing Love Story (Taylors Version) in February right before making Fearless (Taylors Version) her first re-recording. The vault track Mr. Perfectly Fine was also released as a single for the record.
Taylor's second re-recording was for her fourth album Red which came out November 12th, 2021. It featured the singles I Bet You Think About Me and All Too Well (Ten Minute Version). All Too Well (Ten Minute Version) became a short film that stared Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brian.
Breaking up the re-recordings Taylor released her tenth album Midnights was released on October 21st, 2022. Midnights tells the stories of many sleepless nights scattered across her life. The singles from the album were Bejeweled, Anti-Hero, and Lavender Haze. Midnights success gave Taylor the record of being the first person to occupy the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 and gave Taylor the record for the most streamed album on Spotify in one day.
In 2022 Taylor played in Amsterdam, she played the role of Liz Meekins.
On March 17th of 2023, to celebrate the start of the Eras tour, she released The More Lover Chapter which contained the songs Cruel Summer, Lover, The Man, The Archer, and the previously unreleased song All Of The Girls You Loved Before. She also released The More Red (Taylors’ Version) Chapter which contained the songs I Knew You Were Trouble (Taylors’ Version), 22 (Taylors’ Version), We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (Taylors’ Version), All Too Well (Ten Minute Version) (Taylors’ Version) [From The Vault], and two new Taylors Versions, Safe And Sound (Taylors’ Version) and Eyes Open (Taylors’ Version). Finally, she had also released The More Fearless (Taylors’ Version) Chapter which included Fearless (Taylors’ Version), Love Story (Taylors’ Version), White Horse (Taylors’ Version), You Belong With Me (Taylors’ Version)and a track that originally was on the deluxe edition of Speak Now, If This Was A Movie (Taylors’ Version).
Taylor then got back to the re-recordings and on July 7th, 2023, she released Speak Now (Taylors Version). Its only single was the “From The Vault” track I Can See You which had a music video featuring Taylor Lautner and Joey King. Joey King had also been in the music video for Mean thirteen years before.
Taylor's most recent re-recording as of today will be 1989 (Taylors Version) and it is expected to be released on October 27th, 2023, the exact date as the original was released 9 years prior. The re-record will contain 5 vault tracks and Taylor considers this her favorite re-recording. She had already released two singles from this re-record before Red (Taylors' Version) was released, Wildest Dreams (Taylors' Version) and This Love (Taylors' Version). The five vault tracks are called “Slut!”, Now That We Don’t Talk, Say Don’t Go, Suburban Legends, and Is It Over Now?.
As of right now the last two re-recordings are Reputation (Taylors Version) and Taylor Swift (Taylors Version).

Louis will be the first male solo artist to headline the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez venue, which is the home of the Mexican F1 Grand Prix.
May 20th 2024 | by Josh Sharpe
In a landmark event for fans around the world, British singer/songwriter Louis Tomlinson is set to perform one night only at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez - Curva 4 in Mexico City on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Louis will be the first male solo artist to headline the venue, which is the home of the Mexican F1 Grand Prix.
As part of his 'Faith In The Future World Tour’, the show is the culmination and the final stadium show of two back-to-back world tours that have sold over 1.5M tickets and taken Louis to 47 countries across 5 continents. Louis Tomlinson - For Every Question Why: Live and Direct from Mexico City will air LIVE on Veeps, offering fans around the world exclusive access to the first concert Louis has ever streamed in front of an in-person crowd.
The livestream will be directed by Grammy-nominated and Emmy award-winning director Sam Wrench, who has earned wide acclaim for his work on Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour film as well as Billie Eilish: Live at the O2. Individual tickets are on sale for $16.99 HERE. To cater to the timezones of a truly global fanbase, there will be two opportunities for fans to gather on the streams — a livestream direct from the show at approximately 8pm PDT / 9pm CST (Mexico)* on Saturday, June 1 and an encore broadcast on Sunday, June 2 at 6pm BST / 7pm CET.* The encore broadcast will include exclusive backstage and bonus footage not included in the first livestream.
Louis will be partnering with War Child UK for the livestream and donating a portion of the proceeds from every ticket sold. War Child UK is committed to ensuring a safe future for every child affected by war. With 30 years of experience, they work with local communities and governments to protect, educate, and support children in war zones, aiming to reach them quickly and stay long after the crisis has passed. War Child creates safe spaces for children to play, learn, and heal, advocating for their rights and amplifying their voices.
Veeps and Louis have partnered a number of times since Veeps’ inception, each time crafting unique and heartfelt experiences for fans tuning in — from his 2020 Live From London lockdown performance that brought together 160,000 fans for the biggest livestream concert ever held by a solo male artist, to an airing of his feature-length documentary All of Those Voices coupled with a live red carpet cross and intimate Q&A. (In a show of the closeness of Louis’s fans, the stream generated an enormous 30,000 chat messages amongst those that tuned in.)
Louis’s journey from global superstardom with One Direction to solo success has been marked by a series of bold, creative choices, kicking off with his debut album, Walls, which has sold over 1.5 million copies. Its 2022 follow up, Faith in the Future, went to No.1 in the UK, Spain and Belgium, and Top 5 in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and across Europe. In 2021, Louis was listed in the Guinness Book Of World Records for breaking the record for the most live streamed concert by a solo male artist, hosting one of the biggest live stream concert events ever held, selling over 160,000 tickets to fans in over 110 countries and raising funds for several important charities.
This month, Louis unveiled a surprise live album, LIVE, with the digital version comprising a collection of 15 songs, all released live for the very first time. Each song was recorded in a different city, at a different show, spanning the past 3 years across Louis's two global world tours which have seen him perform over 170 shows to date. LIVE will also be released on CD and LP on August 23 with 3 additional tracks exclusive to the physical formats only. Both are available now to pre-order. The CD includes exclusive live versions of “High In California” and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go,” while the LP includes exclusive live versions of “High In California,” “Only The Brave” and “Kill My Mind.”
As Louis wraps up his tour, Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez - Curva 4 will provide a dynamic backdrop for a livestream performance. As one of the biggest artists for new fans on Veeps, this concert is not just a show; it's a global event, bringing together fans from all corners of the world to celebrate the music of one of the most influential artists of our time.
Tickets to Louis Tomlinson - For Every Question Why: Live and Direct from Mexico City will be available for $16.99 at https://veeps.events/louis-tomlinson-live-from-mexico. The show will air live on June 1, 2024 at 8pm PDT / 9pm CST (Mexico), with the special encore broadcast airing at 6pm BST / 7pm CET on June 2.* The stream will be available exclusively on Veeps for 12 months after the original airdate, with a 7-day rewatch window for individual ticket purchasers.

NIGHTWISH Won't Tour In Support Of Next Studio Album
Tumblr media
NIGHTWISH has announced plans to take a break from touring and will not hit the road in support of the band's next studio album.
Earlier today (Thursday, April 6),NIGHTWISH released the following statement via social media: "As the 'Human :ll: Nature - World Tour' is drawing to a close, we feel now is the time to tell you of our plans for the next phase in our journey.
"After the planned shows for June 2023 we will be 'hanging up our spurs' for an indeterminate time, as far as live concert performances go, and won't be touring the next album.
"The reasons for this decision are personal, but, we all agree, vital to the wellbeing and future of the band. Be assured that we still love working together, and this decision has nothing to do with Floor's [Jansen, NIGHTWISH singer] pregnancy or our other individual projects.
"However, an album of 12 new songs will see bright daylight in 2024, as will 3 music videos! The band is positively hyped beyond words over this new upcoming musical adventure.
"Stay tuned for updates from our legendary NIGHTWISH band camp & studio this summer!"
Last December, NIGHTWISH keyboardist and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen said the band's upcoming follow-up to 2020's "Human. :II: Nature." will be the third part of a trilogy that began with 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" album. He told Metal Hammer: "I immediately knew after getting that album ['Endless Forms Most Beautiful'] done that, 'Okay, we have to do more songs about this, because there's so much more to explore and tell the world. We're not done with this.' And the same thing happened after 'Human. :II: Nature.'; we're still not done. So let's do one more. At least one more.
"In a way, [the next album] is the third part of a trilogy, which started with 'Endless Forms…' and then 'Human. :II: Nature.' There are some major surprises there again, but it feels like a natural continuation to 'Human. :II: Nature.'"
According to Tuomas, NIGHTWISH's next LP will cover previously uncharted ground while continuing in the more cinematic style that has characterized some of the band's recent efforts..
"The wonderful thing is that we have had the demo [of the album] done since last spring. So it's been done for six months now. We really have all the time in the world to go through it all, and we have had a such great time with the band, just listening to the demo in our hotel rooms — me singing the lyrics and the melodies to Floor [Jansen, vocals]. She's recording them and then she's seeing them and throwing ideas to each other."
Last September, Tuomas was asked if NIGHTWISH's upcoming LP will once again be an exploration of evolutionary science, as was the case with the previous two releases. Tuomas said: "Yes and no. It sails on the same waters, but there's some new surprises there as well."
Holopainen went on to say that NIGHTWISH fans will have to wait a while before hearing new music from the band. "We'll enter the studio next year and the album is gonna come out maybe early 2024," he said.
In August 2022, Tuomas told Rock Sverige that he spent "about a year" working on the music and lyrics for the next NIGHTWISH album.
Asked if he got any kind of inspiration from the pandemic, Tuomas said: "Yeah, lyrically there's a couple of things that reflects the pandemic, but not in the way you would expect."
"Human. :II: Nature." was released in April 2020. The follow-up to 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" was a double album containing nine tracks on the main CD and one long track, divided into eight chapters, on CD 2.
In August 2022, NIGHTWISH announced the addition of bassist Jukka Koskinen (WINTERSUN) as an official member of the band. Koskinen, who made his live debut with NIGHTWISH in May 2021 at the band's two interactive experiences, had spent the last year touring with NIGHTWISH as a session musician.
In November 2022, Floor revealed that she was "cancer free" after recently undergoing surgery to have a tumor removed following a breast cancer diagnosis.
Last month, Floor and SABATON drummer Hannes Van Dahl announced that they were expecting their second child. Jansen and Van Dahl already have a six-year-old daughter named Freja, who was born on March 15, 2017.

Michael Pisaro-Liu — A Room Outdoors (Elsewhere)
Tumblr media
The premise of A Room Outdoors is simple; bring the outdoors inside. Wandelweiser composer Michael Pisaro-Liu wrote the piece in 2006. It requires a sustaining instrument — a harmonium is prescribed, but a synthesizer or organ will do — a field recording, and 48 minutes of the performers and listeners’ time. According to Pisaro-Liu’s website, the score is seven pages long, but much is left to the performers’ discretion. Depending on what instruments and which field recordings they pick, the sound of the piece could be wildly different, but the intent remains the same.
This CD presents two iterations, both performed by pianist/conductor/curator Guy Vandromme in association with a few other performers. Vandromme is a champion of contemporary works that prioritize aspects of sound over what’s written on a page. Both pieces are part of a project called Timemonochromes… in dialogue with, which sponsors the enactment of performances that invite consideration of the relationship between places and the human-produced sounds that take place within them. A scan of the Timemonochromes Facebook page reveals that not all of these events involve performances of A Room Outdoors, but it’s easy to see how Pisaro-Liu’s score relates would fit into a project that specifically examines such dialogues.
The album comprises two complete performances realized three years apart. The first was done at the Wild Gallery in Brussels in April 2020, and it is visually represented by the empty chair and opaque windows on the front of the album’s sleeve. Packing lots of folks into the space would not have been an option in that time, but humanity feels present nonetheless. It begins with the sounds of distant traffic and braking trams and accumulates further sounds of urban travel. The musicians enter the outdoor sound-space gradually and respectfully. Vandromme is credited with keyboards and Adriaan Severins contributes synthesizer and field recordings, and both of them play long tones that feel like grounding commentary on a wider field of action. The captured traffic carries on, unmindful of the musicians who have taken interest in it. The choice to bring the outdoors into one’s creative space, it seems, can give a body some humbling information about their place in the world.
The second recording took place in June, 2023 at Archaeological Museum of Cremona, Italy. This time, Vandromme sticks to harmonium, and he is accompanied by viola da gamba player Luciana Elizonda, while Fabio Gionfrida wrangles the field recordings. The players’ sounds loom louder in the mix, and their exclusively acoustic origin gives them a rougher grain. But the sounds around them are quite different. Birds, bugs, close-up movement and faraway voices quietly fill the sound field. The louder drones feel imposed upon them, but even though they ride higher in the mix, they ultimately cannot compete with the richness of the nature sounds.
As is typically the case with an Elsewhere production, the recordings are beautifully rendered and the package design resonates consonantly with the sounds. But unlike many other Elsewhere releases, the label website does not have an interview in which the composer or performers explain the work at length. While it’s possible that one will show up down the road, I rather hope that it doesn’t. The merit of this work resides in as much in its ability to get the listener thinking about the sounds’ relationships to each other as it does upon the sounds themselves. It’s up to you if you want to complete this piece with your questions.
