hmm today I will reveal my personal favorite ships in welcome home

if you disagree with me it's fine, just keep in mind not everyone's ships are the same

Wally and Barnaby: the first ever ship I thought of when joining the fandom. My initial thought was that the basic formula of "two best friends" and "size difference" would definitely be a win-win for the fandom, but I was actually quite surprised to see some people who despise this ship, claiming it to be "zoophilic". Needless to say that I haven't heard or seen such argument against the Fluffybird (Red Guy and Duck from DHMIS) ship, but oh well. Anyways, I just think they're very neat and could definitely be classified as a "best childhood friend who have a little something going on" dynamic. And! While I mostly see these two as mutual pining partners, I can totally view them as a simple platonic "two guys being besties and having fun"! Also I don't know if any Welcome Home ships have names, but I saw someone call this pairing Wallaby and I think I'll go with that :)

Frank and Julie: now, listen to me on this one please. I know perfectly well Frank and Eddie are a canon couple, and I'm down with that! It's just that I'm a sucker for a more platonic-romantic kind of pairing between best friends. They just seem so funky together and have the good ol' "opposites attracts" dynamic with them. Again, same case as Wallaby, I ship these two romantically, but cool with them just being pals. There isn't enough male and female friendship representation in media, and I personally believe that Frank and Julie are a good example of such. My heart just simply melts whenever a Frank/Julie art appears on my feed, it's so wholesome and soft..

Howdy and Poppy: ... okay. I don't really have enough evidence to backup this one but uh. My brain just went and created this pairing in my head and I absolutely love it. JUST GENERALLY SPEAKING both of them have a parental vibe, and the contrast between a huge green guy with multiple limbs and a giant bird with mostly red feathers is just.. pleasing for my eyes (complementary colors! complementary colors!). While the fandom widely agrees that Poppy is a "worried mom friend of the group", I haven't seen anyone say that Howdy is much of an "outgoing dad friend of the group". Personality wise they'd make a pleasant dynamic and with how both of them basically take care of others in their own ways could be played out too. And just AHHHH thinking about them makes my brain very happy!!!! if no one draws fanart of them I WILL (threat).

wait, in that last post are you saying that Joey and susie witnessed frank and julie doing the devil's tango on the bar counter 😨

I mean, they more than likely got busted at least once. The Legion does not care for rules or boundaries until it crosses boundaries of close friends. I also like to think that Julie was the second to move out to Ormond. Escape her boring life and have freedom to play her music to people who appreciate it. Because Julie was the second, Frank and Julie had plenty of alone time. They could do whatever they wanted to and nobody could tell them to stop. The only thing that ever told them no was that cold ass snowy wind. Frank caught a cold making an attempt. Once Susie came in, so did Joey. Joey would never go anywhere without Susie. He cares about her safety too much and knows Susie would feel alone without him. Frank and Julie got busted on the counter and the embarrassment alone was enough for them to never do that again. For a few months, just looking at the counter was a reminder they got busted. Frank could not stare at that counter without being a bright red. Eventually though they worked things out and made a plan so Joey and Susie never had to look at it or hear it ever again.

Joey still actively bullies Julie and Frank about the counter.... It has been years into the Fog and he is still a good reminder. Joey refuses to let Frank and Julie forget it either. It does not bother them now as it is more funny than anything. You ask Frank about it now and he will confirm it with pride. He is proud of Julie even if his way of showing it sometimes can be a bit immature.

Last month, I posted a sketch of Frank crying. The original inspiration was Orville Peck's C'mon Baby, Cry! When I sketched these two again, their bodies began to turn. Eddie held Frank's hand and pulled him closer. I did my best to follow his lead in my sketches.

I've been wanting to describe the process like that from the start. haha

Anyway, Frank isn't the one crying anymore. Now I'm the one crying! It's too bad all these wonderful things can only happen in my dreams.

Well, I do have one secret: Wally was sitting in the chair reading a book in my sketch. He didn't make it past the sketch phase. I tried very hard to add a background to this piece. He was my guide for the eye level. Eye level was literally at Wally's eyes. He was a great help to me!

i headcanon that sometimes julie and freak will bathe together (nothing nsfw about it btw)

I feel like they would 100% do this. Julie loves to cuddle with Frank and clean off all the blood after his trials. Julie rubs his chest, shoulders, and neck as some much needed relaxation. Those trials can cause a lot of stress for some killers! It either goes one way or another for Frank. He is either taking a nap and just letting Julie give him a message and a bath or Frank is pulling Julie in with him. Frank loves to play and mess around with Julie. She just never knows when she is getting a bath too. Frank likes to keep it a surprise. Julie usually gets a little irritated she is all wet now, but seeing Frank be so cute and lovey dovey, it is so hard to stay mad at him. They give each other a bath and then probably go lay down for a nap!

Now these two have most certainly hooked up in the tub. I don't doubt that either. Being stuck at such a young age, hormones are crazy! Joey and Susie can't look at the bathroom or the bar the same ever again.
