Here are two non-obvious things about the Tumblr UI that I feel like I can make more clear with some images. As of July 17, 2022 2023... oops:

links to posts on blog themes:

There's a link to view a post on the user's custom blog theme—if they have a custom theme, and have their blog accessible to logged-out users, of course—as the first item in the ⋯ ("meatballs") menu. (This used to be the dog-ear corner at the top right corner of the post, if you remember that.)

Like any normal link, you can control/command click this menu item to open it in a new tab, or right click it to copy the link URL.

links to individual reblogs:

The header areas highlighted in green here—specifically their empty areas—are links directly to the individual reblogs they're the headers for. This is also true in the mobile apps!

You can control/command click them to open them in a new tab.

You can sort of right-click them to copy the link URL... but only if you have post timestamps turned on (it's in your tumblr settings in the dashboard section near the top), and only if you right click on the timestamp, or actually the dashed green area. (I wish this could be true for the whole header, but it's kind of hard for technical web browser limitation reasons.)

The above statements are true without XKit!

Now: by default, the areas highlighted in red and orange are links to the blogs in question. The "restore links to individual posts" option in Tweaks in XKit Rewritten (check out @addons!) does two things:

It changes the red-highlighted links to point directly to the reblog in question, just like their surrounding green area. This doesn't really add any functionality; you could already access that, as just discussed! Edit: I got this wrong; the reblog trail blog names should not be highlighted red.

It changes the orange-highlighted link to point to the immediately preceding reblog (i.e. the one "prev tags" refers to). This definitely does add functionality, since there was literally no way to step backward through the reblog chain otherwise!

For the record, what I would probably have done if I were Staff or if I had been the one to write the XKit Rewritten tweak without anyone else's input is:

Make the green-highlighted areas link to the reblog, as they currently already do.

Make the red-highlighted links point to the user blog, as they currently already do.

Make the orange-highlighted link, including the reblog icon, link to the immediately preceding reblog (i.e. the one "prev tags" refers to). That section is a different color than a blog link and has a special icon, after all; I think it's totally reasonable for it to have slightly different functionality.

In any case, it imo quite obviously should not be impossible to step back through the reblog chain, no matter what you think of the "prev tags" phenomena. Without an extension, there's no way to do this at all right now unless the post has very few notes and you can dig through them.

Some might argue for solving this by putting the a link to the previous reblog in the ⋯ menu. That would certainly be better than nothing, but I think using the orange-highlighted area is a better way. It's not like it's hard to get to a blog from an individual-post-viewed-on-that-blog, anyway.

Hey! So I’m really sorry that I haven’t posted anything in days, I have volunteer working, I’m looking for a job, and I’ve been really tired lately. Not to mention hate I have been getting on TikTok but that’s a different thing.

Anyway! I painted my nails for Lando Norris, I think it turned out well. I already had the green and black gel polish from when I wanted to do Chat Noir nails so I didn’t buy it JUST for this. I don’t promise anything BUT I AM WORKING ON MY FANFICS! I have 2 Charles requests, a Lando request, and a Lewis request. I got the headers READY, I just need time

Williams (union jack) and Red Bull (red pattern) brought special liveries to Silverstone

Andy Cowell (previously Merc PU chief) joins Aston Martin as new CEO

Mick Schumacher will do a Pirelli tyre test for McLaren because no other reserve driver of thier has the criteria to drive the car and their F1 drivers are coming off a triple header (so their activated the option to use Merc juniors/reserves)

Matt Whyman is Publishing „Inside Mercedes F1: Life in te Fast Lane“ book

Mercedes will bring more upgrades to both Spa and Hungary

Checo will get the new Red Bull floor Max has been running in the next race as well although Helmut Marko said that upgrade was only worth 6 points of downforce

i am so sure that i wrote this down about a month ago but since everyone has been talking about it: Enrico Cardile left Ferrari and will serve gardening leave for the rest of the season before joining Aston Martin, so Fred will oversee the area himself before Loic Serra comes (and potentially Newey as according to rumour that’s main reason behind Enrico leaving)

Rumours of the paddock:

Zak Brown has been asking for a possibility of engine supply from RBPT instead of Mercedes due to fear of reliability if they start supplying Alpine as well (considering they will drop Aston who gets Honda’s engine and knowing how much he publicly criticizes Red Bull and the culture in the team i kinda doubt it)

Alpine is also exploring RBPT and Ferari as potential engine suppliers instead of Renault

Jos Verstappen still very much wants to get his son out of the Red Bull team and Mercedes could be the next destination, Jos said in Austria that Christian Horner is the one responsible for not allowing him to drive during legends parade during the weekend and they had a lil argument speaking to media, there is still the rumour about Merc engines in 2026 being strong and that being a good argument for Max

this is technically not a rumour but also not confirmed either but Fred Vasseur strongly indicated in an interview that Lewis‘ contract will be for three years (he said they want to be champions in 2025, 2026, 2027 or something along those lines basically)

Haas is about to announce the extending of engine supply from Ferrari (with stronger links as Ollie becomes their official driver while being a part of FDA), they might get some kind of parts from Toyota as well (along with their knowhow) with potential title sponsorship deal

i want to prelude this by saying that driver contracts are highly confidential and nobody knows what exactly is in them, because they simply do not talk about the legal stuff so it wouldn’t get out BUT there has been a lot of speculation about Checo and his contract including clauses of performance compared to Max, some of which he is currently not complying so there is a rumour if he doesn’t improve over the next two races, they can terminate his contract and replace him mid-season (with candidates being Daniel Ricciardo – Horner’s favourite + good for their marketing where Checo is strong, Liam Lawson – Marko’s favourite + has a close to look among other teams if he doesn’t get a RBR backed seat for 2025, and apparently also Yuki)

also Liam is doing a filming day (200 kms test) with RB20 in Silverstone today which is a similar move they did with Daniel Ricciardo last year before he replaced Nyck

and Joe Saward thinks he will replace Daniel in July

also some people freaked out about Mick doing a Pirelli test for McLaren and honestly he has bigger change in Alpine where he did kind of a shootout with Jack Doohan (we have no info about how it went besides Toto saying he was strong)

after Williams were ready to announce a contract with Carlos in Spain with Netflix ready to shoot the footage of it and after he pulled out of it with new offer from Alpine (or rather Flavio Briatore), they now focused on getting Valtteri Bottas as a stable driver to partner Alex

that leaves Carlos waiting if Max really leaves RBR (but Marko made it clear they don’t want him anyway), potentially Merc (Toto said they are not interested in him but after Kimi’s  results in F2 so far, he said maybe the door is not fully closed for him yet), Audi (where Liam Lawson was seen in Austria, but even after Carlos missed a deadline from them, they might be interested) or Alpine (and if he says no, they still have Jack and Mick lined up and ready)

meanwhile Guanyu has been exploring the option to get a seat in FE if he cannot find one in F1 (with Alpine, Haas and Sauber as possible options) or even being a reserve for an F1 team for 2025

As soon as I remembered, I set out for the closest book store and bought my first astrology books.

Why is the internet calling Kamala Harris ‘brat’?

Vice President Kamala Harris is brat.

At least that’s what supporters of Harris have taken to calling her with social media awash with lime green highlighted memes of the vice president dancing and clips of her various speeches.

The meme-forward strategy took off after British singer Charli XCX appeared to throw her support behind Harris for a potential White House run. A video cut of Harris laughing and set to a Charli XCX song from the album “Brat” quickly went viral. The singer soon followed with her own take.

“Kamala IS brat,” the 31-year-old singer wrote Sunday on the social platform X, shortly after President Biden announced he was exiting the 2024 race and endorsing Harris.

Soon after, the official X account for Biden’s campaign rebranded itself with a profile header change to a Brat-lime green image that reads “kamala hq.”

But what is ‘brat’?

Charli XCX’s 2024 summer album release titled “Brat” is a nightclub favorite and features a collection of songs that are all about the female gaze and how younger generations of women aspire to live.

This is how the singer explained it in a TikTok video:

“That girl who is a little messy and likes to party, and maybe says dumb things sometimes, who feels herself but then also maybe has a breakdown but parties through it. It’s very honest; it’s very blunt — a little bit volatile, does dumb things, but, like, it’s brat. You’re brat. That’s brat.”

Many have taken “brat” to be the opposite of the “perfect” girl image that women are faced with on social media.

The “brat” color has also been co-opted by the Harris campaign. The very specific shade of chartreuse or lime green, has been shared across the social media channels of the campaign.

However, according to Charli, anyone can be a brat.

“It can go that way, like, quite luxury, but it can also be so, like, trashy. Just, like, a pack of cigs, and, like, a Bic lighter, and, like, a strappy white top. With no bra. That’s, like, kind of all you need,” she said.

Despite the cigarette-smoking, party-girl definiton, Harris’s campaign has leaned heavily into this theme shortly after she emerged as the likely Democratic nominee. Along with the coconut emoji, it has quickly become an informal symbol of support for her presidential campaign.

Voters of Tomorrow, a Gen Z led organization told The Hill that “brat (noun)” is “An icon; an embrace of authenticity and confidence in oneself.”

The banner on her official campaign account on X also has “Kamala” emblazoned in the same typeface used on the Charli XCX album.

While she was campaigning for the presidency in 2020, Harris was frequently featured in viral trends and internet memes.

When she was in the running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, her supporters were known online as the K-Hive. The bee emoji was featured heavily in their then-Twitter feeds and they would “swarm” to defend the then-California senator online.

I saw a lil comic in my archive about not deleting old art, or you won't be able to see how far you've come. I decided to take it a step further and make myself a lil timeline of all the art I've posted on this blog!

May 2020: One of my first paintings of which I remember thoroughly enjoying its process. Even though my style has changed and my grasp on anatomy has improved, the rendering holds up. I'm proud of younger me for this.

The art is of a tan, freckled witch with a golden palette floating in a swirl of golden light. She's wearing a floral sundress and golden platform heels. She's holding onto her sunhat to prevent it from flying off. She is contrasted by a dark navy background.

July 2020: An ArtFight attack. ArtFight always pushes me to innovate in as little time as possible, but it often leaves me feeling that melancholy of "the execution does not match what was in my head." I never draw the left (my OC) in MY [capitalized emphasis] style, always her original designer's, and I'd love to challenge myself to adapt her sometime.

September 2020: Wow I really didn't draw much in 2020. Y'know [gestures at the state of the world and also my life]. But I also had a crippling fear of posting anything that isn't perfectly [sparkles] polished [sparkles], so I'm proud of Past Me for posting it anyway.

This is a guide to all of the hidden links! I've also done my best to tell you how to find them yourself (I had so much doing the bug hunt)

I have tried my best to keep all descriptions spoiler free, so if you just want help finding them this is the guide for you!

Crack The Code, a bunch of hints toward the password. (to get to Password Please just click on the image)

Password Please, to get to the enter password section just click on the image.

The password is found via finishing the Worksheet in the gallery of the Exhibition Page,

The password is the first letter of each answer, spelling out BSPJW (it does have to be capitalized, that was heart breaking to find out after putting so much effort into a hard answer...)

The gallery on the Staff Only Page has a lot of hard to read documents, but most of them will give you a description upon hovering your mouse over them.
