Y/N Jackson’s Point of View
The elevator ride to Julie’s room was quiet, with nobody daring to make a noise. I was thinking about what I would tell her to try and make things better, I know she doesn’t like lies, but I know that she wouldn’t like what I was doing at that pub too, so when we enter the hotel room I try to go and sit next to the veterans, but she’s quicker and make me take a seat in a chair in front of everybody.
-Are you telling us what were you doing at the pub, Torres? –Julie asks.
I try to find some help in my friends’ faces, but all I see is four more pissed off women and that is really scary if you ask me. Because of that, I make some time to put my hair in a ponytail and just scan the room and my options.
-I was in a meeting.
-A meeting? –She asks in disbelief.
-Yes, a meeting. You know, I’m in my last semester in college and I need to figure out what I’m doing after that, so I was discussing the possibilities with the captain of my battalion.
-And do you want me to believe that of all the places and times for this kind of meeting he scheduled it there?
-Yes, I mean, he suggested that we didn’t need to reschedule because I was off-campus for camp and then asked if I knew an informal place to talk and spend a couple of hours. –I tell her, what is half-true; I did meet with someone to discuss my future moves, just not with my captain.
-Care to tell me what you have decided then?
-I’m making an agreement with the air force; I will work for them in the offseason.
I saw her relaxing at my words, believing what I just said. Crystal, Moe, and Sam smiled after hearing it too; on the other hand, Lindsey arched her eyebrow at me while giving me her classical “I don’t believe a bit in what you’re saying” glare. Ignoring her I look to the veterans just sitting there confused as fuck with the conversation and reactions. Alex decides that’s a good time to speak.
-So somebody cares to explain what’s going on?
-Oh, it’s just something personal, don’t worry about that. –I say.
-Judging from their reaction I’m already worried, so spill.
-There’s just a place Julie doesn’t like that I used to go to.
-Why? –Ali questions looking at me.
-I… - I look at Lindsey for help as I know is Julie is pissed off with me yet.
-It’s just a place that has some big fights sometimes, so a bit dangerous to go there alone, just as she used to. – Lindsey finally speaks and I breathe with relief.
-For Julie’s reaction it doesn’t seem just like it. – Alex adds.
-But it is, Lindsey’s right, it’s just a dangerous place to go alone. – I say.
The girls are quiet for some time until Kelley tilts her head with an inquisitive look and questions me “Did you say air force?”
-Oh, yes, I’m a part of ROTC for the Air Force, they pay for my tuition.
-But that’s training for reserve officers and you said that you will work for them in the off-season. – Said, Ashlyn.
-You’re right Ashlyn, it’s training for reserve officers, but, they decided to prepare me to fly jet fighters and I know how to fly a specific one that they’re scarce of pilots right now, so they’re giving me the option to make it official and become a pilot for them.
-And you said yes to that offer…? – Said, Crystal.
-Yes, Dunn Dunn. I said yes, you’ll see me more wearing the uniform. – I blink at her.
-Okay, but it doesn’t explain why you thought it would be okay to fight three guys alone yesterday. – Julie says angrily.
-Jules, I know how to protect myself, I could take care of them and protect the girls, it is what I did, everything’s okay, you don’t need to worry.
 -You promised me you wouldn’t do it again.
-I know, I know, but it happened, I couldn’t let them be in this case, okay?
-Guys, I think you two should talk alone later about it, we need to go to the conference room to video session now. –Sam spoke to the room.
-You’re right, let’s go. – Said Julie looking at everyone but me.
I slowly let the air in my lungs go, trying to relax a bit after the tension, it wasn’t a good impression at the first minutes, but okay, it is what it is. I told them to just go that I would use the bathroom before leaving to the conference room. When I left the bathroom I thought that I was alone, but Lindsey was waiting for me at Julie’s bed.
-You know that I don’t believe a word you said earlier, right?
-Linds, thanks for the save earlier, I didn’t know what to say.
-It’s hard to believe when you receive training to this.
-You know you can’t mention this thing here.
-You’re running from the elephant in the room.
-Sorry, I know you didn’t believe, but it was the truth.
-Torres, I know you more than Julie does and I’m sure you know why. Don’t try to lie to me because I’m only one that knows everything and won’t believe your weak words. Who were you meeting at the bar? Were you fighting? What was it really about?
-I didn’t completely lie, okay? –I told her in a hushed tone. –I was talking with Dave, planning the next steps.
-Which are…?
-I will secure a place at Vallory whilst I finish college and play at the national level. I will make it official with the Air Force, I need to have an escape if needed. I will sign to drafts too.
-So you will follow along with the plan Julie made you swear you would forget.
-I need to find who killed my family, you know it.
-And then? When you go, break Julie’s heart, become a top national player, a high ranked officer, win Vallory, find who killed you family, what are you gonna do?  Murder them too? You become a murderer? Is that it? – She told me with angry.
-Almost on point, Linds. I love Julie, I won’t break her heart. – I say.
-I love Julie. – She mocks me. –If you really love her, you should think about your next steps, because how you’re taking care of things right is hurting her. These bruises, they aren’t just from yesterday.
-No, three days ago, I had my first fight at the red zone, I won.
-When’s the next one?
-Next week, after the game against Canada.
-You’re unbelievable, Y/n. Let’s go to the conference room before they come looking for us. Our conversation doesn’t end here.

Hanging Out - JJ/Reader (USWNT)
inspired by requested: “Julie x r were Julie gets jealous of a guy flirting with r and they coming out publicly. Ends with top Julie fluffy shit please” - anon
(a/n: cue a fic involving an argument, aka. my favorite kind of fic to write)
Tumblr media
XXXXXXXXXXXX
You wished you could have held JJ's hand, swinging your intertwined hands between the two of you as you walked out of your hotel, but you weren't sure that was happening anytime soon. At least not until you actually told your teammates that you were dating.
So, for now, you'd have to settle for just being able to exist in her presence, and maybe the occasional public hand hold if you were sure that the team wasn't around and there were no tabloids.
Just as you were about to leave the hotel, Mal ran up alongside the two of you, linking her arm with yours.
“Where are you guys going?” She asked, skipping as you went.
You smiled at the kid of the team and shrugged, “Just to get some lunch at this coffee place we found last night.” You replied and she nodded.
“Oh cool, can I come hang out too?”
The request took you slightly by surprise and you hesitated before tryign to respond, “Uh, I-”
“Nope.” Julie next to you replied instead, popping the ‘p’ and cutting off your attempt to come up with something better to let Mal down gently.
You turned to face her, giving her a look of surprise, “Julie-”
“Sorry, I’m stealing Y/N, it’s for... team bonding reasons.” She tried to expand, using an awful lie. Luckily, Crystal (the superhero that she is) came up beside the three of you, seeing you were in a tight spot. It may suck to not be out to the entire team, but Crystal had put two and two together pretty early on in your relationship and both you and Julie couldn’t lie to your best friend.
“Yeah, hey, Mal? Wanna join me and Abby? We’re going to the mall.” Crystal offered, sending a wink your way when Mal wasn’t looking.
“Yeah, sounds good.” She nodded and bounded off with Abby, Crystal following.
You mouthed a ‘thanks’ to Crystal before she left, and also just before JJ tugged on your arm, impatient to get away, “Come on.” She urged.
As soon as you got outside, you stopped JJ and turned to her, frowning, “JJ, you can’t just say no like that.”
“Why not? I want to take you for a date.”
“I know but Mal doesn’t know that.” You sighed as she took your hands in hers and pulled you towards her, pressing a quick kiss to your forehead, before checking around you to make sure no one saw anything, “You’re just lucky Crystal was there.”
She nodded, letting her eyes trail down your body, “I’m a lucky woman for many reasons.”
“Damn right,” You nodded, “Hurry up, we’ve got a date to get to.”
xxxxxxxxxxxx
You’d managed to find a nice and secluded restaurant to eat dinner at and had almost finished when you noticed JJ acting weirdly, staring at something (or someone) just over your shoulder.
You nudged her with your foot to get her attention, "What's happening?" You refrained from following her gaze just in case but if there was something interesting happening behind you then you definitely wanted to be given live updates.
Julie shrugged and shook her head, "Nothing... just some guy."
"You know him?" You asked, seeing that she was still occasionally staring.
"No, do you?"
You frowned, “Who?” You asked and tried to subtly look around you to look for any faces you may recognise. There was no one that jumped out to you so you turned back to Julie, shaking your head, "No, why?"
"He keeps staring at you."
"JJ, just ignore him," You placed your hand over hers, "hey, I love you."
The contact brought her attention completely back to you and she nodded, smiling, "Sorry, yeah, love you too." She cleared her throat and reached for her bag, "Listen, I'm going to go and pay, okay?"
"Mhmm, hurry back."
She smiled and nodded before leaving, "Will do,” and, as she went, she sent one last glance to the guy behind you.
You wholeheartedly did love JJ but sometimes here jealousy would rule over the conversation and just put a dampener on the day. To be honest, it was all probably made worse by the fact that you couldn’t really talk to anyone but Crystal about your relationship and you didn’t want to plague her with both yours and JJ’s issues.
You were brought out of your thoughts by a figure hovering at the end of your table and you looked up, "Hey beautiful, what's your name?" Okay, so maybe JJ’s jealousy was slightly, kind of correct in this situation.
"Uh, I'm not interested." You tried to politely let him down, aware that JJ could be back at any point and a move this bold could cause a riot.
He smiled and winced slightly, "Wow, a unique name, haven't heard that one before." You chuckled at that. To be fair, he was cute and if you actually swung that way then maybe this conversation would be going in a different direction, but you were definitely, 100% a lesbian and definitely 100% in a relationship, "Ah, you laughed at my joke, I'm pretty sure that means you legally have to tell me your name now."
You rolled your eyes jokingly at him, shaking your head, "I- it's Y/N but I'm really not interested, if you know what I mean?" You tried hinting, feeling embarrassed and aware that people might be looking.
He cocked his head to the side and shrugged, "You might have to elaborate."
"I'm gay." You word vomited only to pause afterwards, you had no idea how he was going to react and actually, having Julie come back right now might be a blessing.
But you immediately relaxed when he nodded, smiling, "And I'm sorry, I am a dumbass."
"No, it's okay." You shook your head, sending him a sympathetic smile - he really tried his best.
"Well, then, I'd like to tell you, as a passerby, that you are really beautiful and anyone would be lucky to have you." He smiled a genuine smile, which you were happy to return, until Julie interrupted with an eyebrow raised and an even worse glare directed at the guy than before.
"Excuse me?" She asked.
The guy hesitated for a second before trying to connect the dots and looking between the two of you, "Girlfriend?" He asked you, pointing to JJ. You went to respond but JJ beat you to it.
"Just best friends." She said curtly. Your eyes snapped up to Julie, who was still glaring at the guy, and you could feel your heart skip out of betrayal. Why was she so obsessed with making sure no one knew that she could love you like that?
"Ah, well... it was a pleasure to meet you Y/N, I hope you both have a good evening." He waved at you and you returned it, not wanting to let your anger with JJ show and make things awkward.
"You too." You replied as he walked off.
After he had gone, you both sat in a tense silence for a few seconds before Julie finally caved and was the first to speak.
"What was that?" She hissed under her breath, leaning in so that your conversation could be as private as possible in a very public space.
"What was that?” You asked rhetorically, “I think you mean what was that," You scoffed, waving your hand in her direction. She just looked at you questioningly and you sighed, you could already tell that this was going to be one of the big fights of your relationship, "Whatever, did you pay?" You asked and she nodded, "Let's just go."
You stood up and walked out without checking that she had joined you or was following after you. It only became evident after she appeared at your side further down the road, putting her hand on your arm to stop you.
"So, what, I don't get an explanation?" She asked, or more like she demanded.
You shook your head, "An explanation about what? About how my girlfriend just friendzoned me?"
She sighed out of frustration, sharply shaking her head, "No, about you and that guy flirting."
"Oh, come off it, JJ." You rolled your eyes, letting out a small laugh of disbelief at what she had said. You turned around and kept walking away, not wanting to entertain her stupid theories.
Julie increased her pace so that she could catch up and walk alongside you, although she made sure to leave a space between the two of you, "I heard your conversation."
You scoffed, "Oh, yeah? You heard the whole thing?"
"Enough." She nodded, keeping her gaze set firmly ahead of you and refusing to make eye contact (and even though you were angry, you could still recognise that her jaw line was fucking hot).
“JJ-”
She shook her head and put a finger up, stopping you from speaking, “Don’t try and explain.” “I won’t.” You shrugged, not feeling the need to explain yourself in this situation anyway, whatever she was claiming .
“What?”
“You didn’t hear what we talked about, you just-”
She laughed, cutting you off to mimick the guy, “You’re really beautiful and anyone would be lucky to have you.”
“He said it as a friend, Julie.” You sighed, knowing if this argument didn’t stop anytime soon then it was going to spiral into something completely different.
“Oh, so how long have you known this guy?” Julie asked, stopping the two of you out on the steps of your hotel, trying to get her point across and end the argument before you saw all your teammates. She smirked and shrugged, “As a friend, obviously.”
Her sarcasm made you grit your teeth and shoot her a glare as you pushed past her, shaking your head at her childlike behaviour, “I don’t have the patience to talk about this with you.” You said, as the automatic doors of the hotel opened and you entered the almost empty, and very quiet, foyer.
Your girlfriend joined you at your side again, getting close enough so that you could hear her hushed voice, “Just tell me the truth, stop trying to pull away from me.” You held back a laugh and stopped yourself from saying something stupid and instead tried to say how you were actually feeling, explaining from your point of view.
“But if you could just admit to yourself that we’re in a relationship then I wouldn’t have to pull away from you an-”
Julie stopped you, “Don’t bring it back to this!” She sighed, jabbing the button to call the hotel’s elevator to your floor and the doors immediately pinged open. “But it always comes back to this, Julie!” You said, following her into the elevator and as soon as the doors had closed behind you, your voices immediately raised back up in volume.
“No, right now we’re talking about something else completely.”
“But your argument is that I’m not always close to you-”
“Don’t tell me what my argument is.” Julie crossed her arms across her chest and tapped her foot on the floor as she watched the floor number rise to where your shared room was. At the beginning of the camp you were so glad that you had been paired together as roommates, Vlatko clearly not realising you were together, but now you might be slightly dreading the idea of having to spend an entire night in each other’s company. You internally groaned, leaning up against the side of the elevator before trying another honest approach with Julie, “I’m just saying that I’m not always close to you in public because no one knows we’re dating.” “That doesn’t mean you need to flirt with some random guy.” Julie’s voice softened somewhat but you snapped, done with her coming at you when you swore you hadn’t done anything wrong. “Great, because I’m not flirting with random guys.” You growled out, straightening up as you prepared to leave. Damn elevators and them stopping you from dramatically exiting whenever you wanted to.
“Oh, come on! I saw you.”
You shook your head and as the doors slid open you shrugged, “Why don’t we just agree to disagree.” Julie followed after you, looking over her shoulder to double check that none of your teammates were out of there rooms before continuing the argument by whispering so as to not gain unwanted attention. “You want to agree to disagree that you’d happily cheat on me?” She asked.
“Woah, when did I say that?” You opened the door to your room with your keycard and entered, holding the door open for Julie even though you’d rather this conversation come to an end - a girl’s still go to have manners even in an argument.
“Just admit-”
“I’m not admitting shit.” You snapped, letting the hotel door slam shut behind her. You felt your phone buzz in your pocket and grabbed it, checking to see if anything could hopefully distract the two of you long enough to let the argument be forgotten.
“Y/N, I-” “Crystal just texted. There’s team bonding over in her room and almost everyone else is there already.” You said, dropping your bags that you’d taken to the restaurant and slipping off your trainers before grabbing a hoodie off your bed. When you realised it was one of Julie’s you sighed and dropped it on her bed, exchanging it for a jumper of your own. You could have manners but could still be petty.
Julie watched in silence and bit her lip before shaking her head, “We need to talk-” “About what? According to you, there is no ‘we’.” You grabbed your phone from the bed, pulling the jumper over your head so that you had a pocket to put your stuff in and slipped on some slides, trying to go about your business as if Julie wasn’t there. “That’s not fair.”
“Whatever, I’m going to see everyone. You can come if you want, or not.” You shrugged.
“I just think we need to talk this through before-” You sighed, checking you had your keycard before opening the door, “Julie, I don’t care. You started this whole thing, I’m ending it.” You said, walking off down the corridor whilst looking down at your phone and shooting a text to Crystal to say that you were on your way.
A few seconds later, the door to your room opened again and you could hear footsteps chasing after you. “You know that’s not how conversations work, right?”
You shrugged, pulling your hood over your head, “It’s how this one works.” “Y/N, just-”
“No, can’t we just have a nice time and forget that this whole thing happened?”
“But it did.”
The two of you stopped outside Crystal’s room and you turned to Julie, “Nothing happened, Julie! A random guy paid me a compliment and I thanked him because I’m not rude and we both parted ways,” You knocked on the door,  way louder than you had intended to but you were annoyed by your girlfriend and taking it out on a hotel door made you feel slightly better, “and I came back to you, like I always will.”
The door was opened by Crystal herself who grinned when she saw the two of you.
“JJ, Y/N! Come in a-”
Julie shook her head, “All I’m saying is if you hadn't encouraged him then-”
“I didn’t encourage him, Julie.” You said through gritted teeth before flashing a smile at your friend and walking into her room, “Hi Crystal-”
But Julie was now on a roll again and, even though you’d found yourselves standing in the middle of a room surrounded by your teammates, decided this argument was worth it, “Oh, right, okay, because batting your eyelashes and flirting isn’t encouraging-”
“We’ve gone through this! Just because you thought I was flirting with him, doesn’t mean I was. At no point was I flirting with that guy! I’m not interested in him. We spoke for less than a minute.”
“Oh, right, because I totally believe that.” She glared at you, taking a seat on the bed near Crystal who was now looking between the two of you anxiously, and Alyssa who looked absolutely clueless.
“Look, just stop talking about it.” You sighed, taking a seat on the floor in with Alex and Kelley one side of you and the younguns the other side.
The room was silent for a moment before Kelley looked at you and snorted, “Wow, what happened on your date?” She grinned, nudging your shoulder teasingly.
Before you could respond, Julie scoffed and rolled her eyes, “It wasn’t a date!” She yelled. The speed at which she’d said it made you want to cry and you willed yourself not to look at her, even though you must have looked slightly heartbroken. Julie must have realised her mistake pretty quickly as her breath hitched slightly and her voice softened, “Y/N-”
You shook your head, “We’re not talking right now.”
There was another stretch of silence before Emily awkwardly sent finger guns to both you and Julie, “Well... team bonding is going great so far.”
Kelley coughed, stretching and landing an arm across your shoulders, “I mean, is someone going to address the huge elephant in the room?” She asked, staring directly at you and nodding her head over to Julie.
Ash, leant forwards to join the party, “Yeah, are you guys... cool?”
You shrugged, pointedly not looking at Julie as you spoke, “Yeah, we’re just not talking right now.”
Alex looked at you around Kelley, “Come on, you’re like best friends, you know you can’t ignore each other.”
“I know I can.” You shrugged.
“I’m sorry, Y/N, I-”
“I don’t want to hear it. Listen, guys, I’m really sorry, I’m going to bed.” You tood up, stretching out. To be fair thinking that you could sit with Julie and act like nothing had happened was kind of stupid of you and was definitely unrealistic.
As you moved to leave, Julie stood up too and placed her body between you and the door, “No, Y/N, I’m sorry, okay? Can we just talk about thi-”
For a moment, all you saw was Julie and you completely forgot where you were, “I’m your girlfriend, JJ, you can’t just accuse me of shit I didn’t do then act like a complete asshole.” You sighed and JJ nodded, taking a step towards you so that you were toe to toe.
“I didn’t mean to, I was just-”
You finished for her, shooting her a teasing smile to make it clear that this time you were joking (with a touch of just telling the truth), “Being an asshole?”
“I’m sorry.” She wrapped her arms around you and you buried your nose into her neck, shutting your eyes as you felt your whole body relax properly again for the first time since this whole argument had started - this, right here, truly was your happy space, despite the disagreements.
“It’s fine, JJ.” You mumbled.
You both stood in a comfortable silence, just soaking up the feeling of being at peace again when there was a small noise from behind you as Lindsey cleared her throat.
“Sorry, are we just going to ignore the... girlfriend part of this?” She ‘subtly’ asked Emily.
You gave Julie an alarmed look, having completely forgotten that you had just come out to the team but she smiled at you, giving a lazy shrug, “Well, if you guys know she’s my girlfriend then-” And with that she pulled you in for a kiss, her hands gripping your face before she moved a hand to the small of your back and she pressed the two of you as close as physically possible. You were faintly aware of some wolf whistles but could hardly register them as you were wholly immersed in the sensation of JJ’s lips pressed to yours.
Eventually, you pulled away, cheeks growing red at the sudden public display of affection, something that you weren’t used to whatsoever, “JJ.” You put your hand on her chest, smiling up at her.
She kept your eyes connected, the sparkle back in them as she took your hand from her chest and pressed a kiss to your palm, “I am sorry, I love you.”
You held her gaze for a moment, “Me too.” You whispered, happy to be back to some kind of normal. Well, maybe not so ‘normal’ since you could literally feel your friends buzzing around you, waiting to ask all the questions they could think of in order to learn all that they could about the relationship.
And you were right.
Megan immediately sat forward, “Okay, cute, but I for one have a couple of questions.” She smiled and Kelley nodded vigorously from the opposite side of the room.
“Oh, yeah, I have so many questions.” She grinned before throwing a pillow at you, “That’s for keeping this from me.” You managed to catch it just before it hit you but smiled, gently throwing it back to her to catch.
Crystal quickly piped up from where she was now lying across the bed, “I knew and I still have questions.”
“You knew?” Kelley all but screeched.
Crystal smirked and shrugged, “You didn’t?”
It was going to be a long night, but you were just glad to be doing it with Julie by your side, the two of you answering all the questions hand-in-hand.

Loki did what?! (Julie Johnston x Autism!Reader)

Request
A/n: Thanks for the help, @grapefruit-personified
Sorry for any mistakes, please enjoy.
“JJ when are we going to meet the person who has you so smitten?”
Julie looked at Ali with a raised brow, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“So you’ve been checking your phone every couple of minutes for nothing?”
Julie knew that she had been caught red-handed. Y/n and Julie had been talking it out and decided that this camp was when Y/n was going to meet the team.
“It’s... complicated?”
Walking to the parking lot, a notable amount of the team was listening. Ash giving Julie a pat on the back, “Shovel talks always do the trick.”
Julie chuckled forgetting how that phrase is normally received. “No, everything is amazing between us, it’s just-”
“Jay!”
Julie had perked up at the familiar voice, turning around to see Y/n walking closer to her.
“Hey baby.”
They hugged, Y/n hiding in JJ’s neck while JJ was brushing her fingers against the back of Y/n’s neck. Normally the two would stay like this for a few minutes but when someone cleared their throat, the two came back to reality.
Julie turned around to introduce Y/n but Y/n had other plans.
Shrinking behind the woman and looking over her shoulder at the large group, making a squeak. The team looking at Y/n curiously.
Y/n’s foot started to twitch, almost thudding against the ground, drawing the team’s attention. When Y/n noticed Y/n used one foot and put it on the other. But now the shaking had gone to Y/n’s hand.
Gently grabbing Y/n’s hips, Julie tried to reassure Y/n with physical touch.
“It’s okay Y/n, I know that’s a lot of people. They’re really nice though.”
Y/n looked at Julie for a moment then started to stand a little taller, still intimidated by the team. The shaking started to lessen.
"Hi."
The team smiled at Y/n, some choosing to look at Julie for answers.
“My name is Y/n, I have autism and Jay is my emotional support human.”
"Y/n and I have been together for about 3 years now."
Now things seemed to click into place, realization washing over the team.
"Is this what it feels like to walk into a godly realm for the first time?"
Y/n was thinking out loud, Julie chuckling at the analogy.
"I can imagine it can come close to it."
"Woah. When's lunch?"
-----
Julie and Y/n walked together, Y/n playing with JJ’s fingers as they’re holding each other’s hands going into the team's food hall.
Some of the team, the youngins, were already sitting down ready to eat and the rest were getting food.
Y/n sat down, Julie telling Y/n, "I'll be right back I'm going to get our food." Nodding as a response Y/n avoided eye contact with all of the people at the same table.
"So Y/n what's it like dating JJ?"
Y/n noticed that the shaking hand come back, trying to hold it with the other. Y/n answered Rose in a gentle tone, "She's really nice, like super nice. And sweet. Jay's really sweet. Like a woman version of Baldr; God of radiance and light. Beloved by all the gods. Though I don't like how he dies by mistletoe and spear."
Rose and Sonnett looked at each other, surprised. "Why not Aphrodite isn't she goddess of love and such?"
"Yeah but that's just so stereotypical-" Y/n watched Julie put the trays of food down, Julie listening since Sonnett mentioned Aphrodite, "Besides Jay would give her a run for her position as goddess of beauty."
Julie kissed Y/n's cheek, "So is today a Greek day?"
"Maybe, I've been looking at Celtic a lot too recently but you know Nordic is my favorite, Jay."
JJ was happy Y/n somehow got on the topic of mythology, it was like Y/n’s comfort when she wasn’t around.
"Greek, Nordic, and Celtic? Are we getting a history lesson?" Kelley was tempted to sigh, she didn't plan on going back to school for a reason.
"Mythology, I find it interesting," Alyssa spoke up, meeting Y/n only briefly when Alyssa and Julie played for the Red Stars. Y/n making a soft grumble, happy Alyssa remembered.
But Y/n wasn’t so subtle in hiding the fact that it was a stem, the hand on Y/n’s mouth to stop it from happening again.
“Hey, it’s okay, Y/n.” Julie spoke softly, touching Y/n’s wrist to guide the hand down, Julie holding Y/n’s hand.
Y/n nodded, focusing on the food on the tray eating it for lunch. Julie and most of the team doing the same.
After a few minutes, JJ heard soft drumming against the table’s edge.
Y/n started to do a stem. Julie knew this one by heart and unfortunately, it could be a happy or anxious stem.
Julie put her hand on Y/n's back making small circles, Y/n's shoulders lowering and relaxing.
Y/n made a squeak that sounded like the one before but lower.
Sonnett decided to be bold, and started a conversation, "I've never really got that whole mythology thing."
"It's fascinating once you get through the formalities. In Greek mythology, humans once had 4 arms, 4 legs, basically everything we have now but double it. And Zeus was actually scared of the humans’ power so he decided to cut us in half."
Y/n didn't notice that the entire team was paying attention, "Each half doomed to roam the earth alone in search of its other half. That one explains soulmates."
“Wow.” All the babies of the team felt like they were just told the coolest story.
"I think I found my other half with you, baby," The team, 'aww'ed while Y/n looked at Julie confused, "metaphorically."
Y/n hummed and another squeak came out, some of the team worried but JJ's smile relieved them.
Y/n too distracted with eating now to pay attention to anyone, "Y/n squeaks more when comfortable."
The team understood, a lot of them going back to enjoying their food, Kelley thinking for a minute,
"So Y/n?"
Y/n was about to take a bite of an apple but froze, blinking multiple times, some notable longer than others. Grumbling to let Kelley know to continue.
Kelley started off slow to make sure Y/n was paying attention, not sure if what just happened was good or bad, "Loki is like the god of mischief right?"
"He's a trickster, not good nor evil but really likes chaos. Although he is considered as a god of fire."
"Right, right. Think he'd need a protégé soon?" Kelley hinted at herself as a joke, being known for the trouble she causes, but Y/n didn't pick it up.
"Not really, plus he already has three offspring, Hel, Jörmungand, and Fenrir. And I guess Loki was also credited with giving birth to Sleipnir, Odin’s eight-legged horse."
Kelley was left wide-eyed and jaw dropped and before she could shout something Alyssa put her hand over Kelley’s mouth,
“Sensitive to people being loud.”
Kelley pushed Alyssa’s hand away, nodding that she understood.
Y/n didn’t see the two’s interaction now focused on the food again but then tugging on JJ’s sleeve.
“What is it Y/n?”
“Your friends are nice, I like them.”
Julie smiled, “That’s so good and I think they like you too.”
The team smiled when Y/n let out a squeak in response.
“I have an idea, how about a movie night?”
-----
All of the team was piled into Kelley’s and Tobin’s room, Julie and Y/n lucky enough to get a bed to themselves minus Rose at the end.
Julie wasn’t paying attention to the movie being played and neither was Y/n.
Both preoccupied, Y/n was close to falling asleep as Julie ran her fingers through Y/n’s hair sometimes brushing against the back of Y/n’s neck.
Y/n letting out a low grumble, Julie noticing Y/n putting in less effort to hide the stems.
“Close your eyes Y/n. Go to sleep.”
After a few minutes, Julie was sure Y/n was asleep, Rose turned around, “You guys are really cute together.”
JJ smiled, “Thanks.”
Kelley said, “Y/n should hang out with us more. I want to know more about that eight legged horse.”
“I’m sure Y/n wouldn't mind talking out it. And thanks.”
The team’s attention now on JJ, “For what?”
“One thing about Y/n is that Y/n is incapable of lying, it’s funny at times. So when Y/n tells me anything I can take it to heart. Y/n really liked you guys.”
Everyone smiled, ready to go back to the movie, Kelley asking one more question out of curiosity,
“Do you think Y/n knows anything about the Kraken? Or Nessy?”

My Gold and My Girl (Julie Johnston x reader)
Tumblr media
You had made it to the final, only one thing stood between you and a gold medal, that thing was Japan.
When you got dressed this morning you did it with pride and happiness. You looked in the mirror one last time before leaving the village.
“Interesting jersey choice” Stewie said as you made your way onto the bus.
“I want her to know that I am proud of her” you said looking down at your team USA soccer jersey.
Your were wearing a zip hoodie but decided that you would take it off as you enter the arena.
Julie’s Olympics didn’t end the way she wanted and you knew that she was taking the loss hard. She still had a bronze medal but when you have you heart set on gold nothing compares. When she texted you to say she was going home you were disappointed but you understood.
You saw the cameramen as you pulled up to the arena. As planned you took your hoodie off to make sure that the Johnston on your back was visible. There was no going back after today, Julie wore your jersey to the bronze medal game and the media was quick to report a new friendship saying that it was nice of her to buy one of your jerseys but you knew that they wouldn’t be saying the same after seeing you in hers.
You got changed and did your warm ups just like you did before every game, despite the stakes you didn’t treat this one any differently.
This team was your family and it soon came to you that this will probably be the last time that you would all play together. Rumours were beginning to circle about Sue and Diana’s retirement but you weren’t ready to think about that. The two women have played a big part in your career, they helped you become the player you are today as well as the person you are.
Before you knew it, it was time to get ready for the game. You are Breanna did your pre match ritual just like you did back in Seattle and then your were ready.
It was game time. Time to focus.
The first quarter went by in the blink of an eye.
“Y/N keep it up on the offence and keep riding 88, she is getting tired” Dawn told you and you nodded whilst downing a bottle of water.
You were the type of player that set the pace of the game. The majority of your career you almost always played the entire first quarter so by the end of you were sweaty and out of breath.
You start the second quarter on the bench put soon got put in. You were laser focused, as if the people off the court didn’t exist. You kept passing to Stewie who kept scoring. You knew where to to position yourself for the rebound. There was something about this game, it was going perfectly.
Half time came and you were all in the locker room going over what had happened in the first half.
You sit in your locker and look at your team, proud of them and of the game you had played so far.
“You ok?” Brittany asked as she passed you a towel.
“Yeah, just taking it in you know” she nodded her head before going to her own locker.
You rest your arms on your legs and put the towel over your head. You knew that a gold medal was almost yours but you still had to stay centred.
“Y/N’ you hear Diana saying your name.
“Yeah” you take the towel off and look at your teammate.
“You with us?” She asks and you nod your head.
“Do you mind if I say something?” you ask Dawn.
You watch her shake her head as you make your way to middle of the room.
“I know the game isn’t over yet but I want to tell you all how much of an honour it has been playing with you. You guys are like family to me and I thank god every time I get on that court with you. I don’t know what the future holds” you pause looking at Sue and Diana “So I just want to say thank you and lets go get us a gold medal”
You can’t help put smile as your teammates start clapping and cheering.
When you are walking out to the court you feel two hand grabs you.
“You trying to make us cry in there” Diana asks you.
“I just wanted you to know what it means to me to play with you both”
“Well we still have another half of basketball to play. You ready?” Sue says and you nod your head.
“I love you guys”
“We love you too” They both say at the same time.
The second half of the game you made a point to have fun, truly enjoy your time on the court and before you knew it the final whistle is blown.
You make sure to congratulate Japan on an excellent tournament before celebrating with your team.
You jump on Stewie’s back
“That’s two” You shout
“Yeah, it is!” She shouts just as loud back.
You get down and watch your teammates celebrate before getting called over to do media.
Once you are done you hear someone say your name and you turn around to a staff member handing you your phone, time to celebrate with the fans and the rest of the country.
You feel your phone vibrating and smile when you see your girlfriends picture pop up.
“Hi Baby”
“Congratulations! You did it, you are a gold medal winner!”
You really wish that you could celebrate with her.
“You could have more of a smile on your face” This confuses you as you look around but don’t see a camera on you.
“I am smiling” You lie
You see Brittany coming up to you and you tell Julie that you have to go but will call her later.
“Sorry to interrupt but we have to go get changed” she tells you and you follow her into the locker room.
After getting changed you go back to the court an line up between Stewie and Jewel.
“Come stand between us” Diana says.
You feel yourself getting emotional as you knew what this mean’t.
You all walked out onto the court so the medals can be handed out.
Diana puts yours around your neck and then you put Diana’s around hers. This was a moment that you would never forget.
Everyone begins to take pictures and you take a selfie with your medal and send it to Julie.
“I know you love to celebrate with us but I think there is someone here that really wants to see you” Dawn says.
You look at her confused, what is she talking about. Dawn puts her arm around your shoulder and points to the crowd.
There in the stands was Julie and Megan.
You walk over to her not wanting to bring to much attention to the two of you.
“Surprise!” She says
“How are you guys even here?” You ask.
Megan holds up her press pass and Julie does the same.
“So you guys are members of the press now.
“Something like that” The pink haired woman says.
“I am so proud of you Y/N, you were so good. I really wanted to scream your name but I didn’t want to ruin the surprise” Julie tells you.
“I am so happy your are here” You walk closer to her and look around for cameras.
You watch as Megan and sue kiss wishing you could do the same to your girlfriend.
“Come here” Julie says as she hold her hands out and you take them.
“I really want to kiss you” You tell her.
“I’m not stopping you” she says and that’s all you need to hear.
You reach up as she grabs your face bringing you closer, your lips touch. You are not sure how long you are like that but you feel sue elbow you in your side.
“Cameras” she says barely a whisper.
You begin to pull away.
“I don’t care” Julie says giving you a hug and kissing your forehead “It is time for the world to know you are all mine”
You hand your phone to sue.
“Will you please take a photo? Like she said, time to let the world know”
Sue takes a photo of you and Julie and you post it on your instagram with the captain ‘My gold and my girl”

Glad You Came (Julie x Reader)
Tumblr media
Request: Julie x reader where reader is kind of the fuckgirl of the team. Reader knows that julie have feelings for her and like her attention. Julie thinks that reader plays with her feelings. But reader actually like julie and try to get her trust back. End with fluff please.
Author’s Note: Idk if this actually fits the prompt, but I just couldn’t get the image out of my head. I hope you all enjoy.
Jj had always been a sucker for a good Rom-Com. The ones where the good girl fell for the bad boy (with a good heart) and that bad boy stepped up to the plate and got his shit together for her.
But alas, though you were the team’s resident bad girl, this wasn’t a rom-com and it appeared you had zero intention of making a dent in your precious reputation. At least that’s what she thought.
You always did have a knack for proving people wrong.
*****
The bouquet of roses was the first thing everyone noticed when they stepped into the locker room. It was an amazing surprise after such a rough practice. A not entirely unexpected, but still incredible surprise.
JJ blushed as she approached her overflowing locker. This secret admirer stuff was getting a bit out of hand.
“Why does Julie get roses, but none of the rest of us do?” Emily whined, settling down in front of her own bare cubby.
Lindsey rolled her eyes. If JJ was going to keep getting gifts from a random person, she and the rest of the girls with significant others on the team were really going to have to step up their game.
“You don’t like dead flowers Sonnett,” She called to the blond 3 lockers over.
“Yeah, but it’s not fair if she gets them and the rest of us don’t,” Emily sighed dramatically, and the rest of the room giggled.
“It's from her admirer,” Kelley chimed in, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.
JJ’s blush deepened. She carefully reached out and grabbed the thornless Rose with a little tag on it, bringing the delicate petals to her nose before examining the little handwritten note.
“Ooo, what’s the note say this time?” Kelley asked, as half the team crowded around the midfielder.
Julie took a big deep breath before reading the black cursive words out loud.
“I wanted to get you something as beautiful as you are, but couldn’t find anything that came close,”
“Awww,” the team cooed, some rubbing Julie’s back and others ruffling her hair as they made their way back to their respective areas.
She ran her fingers over the little words, trying to imagine the face of the person who could have written them. The person who would go to such lengths to show their interest in her. But the gifts were always sweet and never creepy.
The gifts ranged from coffee orders sent to her hotel room, to a signed Mia Hamm jersey that had shown up in her locker, but the thing that always remained was the smooth black cursive notes that accompanied them.
She brushed the soft petals against her nose again. How she longed to know who thought so highly of her.
“Who could get roses in here?” Sam snorted, pulling her boots off.
“It’s gotta be a teammate. They show up literally everywhere we go,” Rose said thoughtfully, glancing around at all the women in the room, her eyes lingering on where you were grinning down at your phone.
There was just something about your smile and the way you kept glancing up at a certain blond midfielder.
“At least we know it’s not Y/n,” Emily cackled.
You looked up at the group from your place across the room, where they all thought you were trying to ignore the commotion (probably in favor of texting a random girl for a hookup).
You had the reputation of being the fuckgirl of the team. And you took pride in that. You liked when women gave you attention, and as long as everything was consensual, you didn’t see the harm in messing around. That didn’t mean you treated women like objects. Quite the opposite. You loved to woo them, to make them feel beautiful, and then move on to the next conquest.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“With a body count as high as yours, I doubt you’re capable of being this romantic,” Julie spat back, glaring at you. Your history with her was far from perfect, and she had found out about your reputation first hand.
You smirked. If you couldn’t positively have her attention (the way you wanted but were too afraid to admit), then you would take the hostility any day. Angry Julie was still sexy after all.
“How do you think I get them into my bed? Maybe I’m a secret mush at heart,” You asked, standing and approaching the woman. Your hands gently brushed over her shoulder and you began to lean in close to her.
She brought her finger up to push against your nose, stopping you in your tracks. You tried and failed to cover your smile at the touch.
“Yeah right,” She scoffed, shoving you back.
Your smile widened, as you stepped back, your arms wide. “You never know till you try it, Jules,”
“Been there, done that. No thanks,” She shook her head and turned away from you. “At least I have enough class not to fuck anything with a pulse”
Rose tilted her head to the side at the brief look of sadness that crossed your features. Her eyebrows furrowed at the look, and how quickly it was gone.
****
You picked at the tape around your wrist- a habit that started in middle school after an unfortunate event that required stitches and had become one of your many signatures within the team. The pressure around the area was calming now, and always put you in the right mode of a game.
It also gave you something to absentmindedly play with as you waited for the next set of drills on the bench (totally not checking out a certain blond when she wasn’t looking).
“When are you going to tell her that you’re her admirer?” Rose said, settling down on the bench beside you.
You shrugged. “First, I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.”  You glanced up at the bling again, before blinking back to Rose’s raised eyebrow.
You took a deep breath, finally managing to get a finger under the tape.
“And second never. I’m defective remember? Completely incapable of love,”
You repeated the words JJ had said to you that fateful night. The night you had ruined the best almost relationship you ever had. It wasn’t you exactly, just the fact that a woman was texting you while you were in bed with Julie. You weren’t going to respond, but the blond midfielder had caught sight of the screen before you could clear the notification.
That was enough proof for her. She kicked you out and didn’t let you explain- there was nothing to say apparently.
“That’s why you always send her flowers and notes, and other gooey stuff right?” Rose rolled her eyes.
She had known you since the two of you were in diapers. She knew all about your hang-ups on relationships, but she also knew the secret romantic side. The sweet side that you didn’t show to everyone. Everyone except a blond midfielder (who was still very smitten with you, even if you didn’t want to believe it).
“I-,” You paused, biting your lip, your eyes getting that faraway look Rose knew all too well. You shook your head. You had your shot and it had blown up in your face. “She doesn’t want me. It’s just easier this way,”
“What, to hopelessly pine after someone? Or to completely avoid rejection all together?” Rose snorted.
You shook your head again, finally looking rose in the eyes. “I hurt her Rose. She doesn’t want someone she can’t trust,”
Rose softened at the admission and the unspoken “I’m not good enough” that went with it. You had always struggled with that, maybe that’s why you were such a lady killer. You so badly wanted to be enough, that you jumped at every opportunity. But it was different after you met JJ.
“How many people have you slept with within the last 3 months?” Rose asked suddenly.
And you blinked at her a few times, completely unsure of where your best friend was going with this.
“What?”
Rose rolled her eyes. “If you can’t think of an exact number, ballpark it for me,”
You vehemently shook your head. You hadn’t met a hookup since that night, too hung up on JJ, and afraid that continuing would destroy any remaining chance you had with the woman.
“I haven’t,”
Rose snapped, patting your shoulder. “Exactly. You’re proving to her, the entire team really, that you can change. She’ll come around, especially if you’re honest with her and I don’t know, try to keep it in your pants for once,”
The team had taken notice of your change, how you hadn’t engaged in hookups. Only a few of them knew the real reason behind your apparent abstinence.
“You think?” You asked softly, and Rose sent you an indulgent smile.
“Yeah, you just gotta grow a pair and tell her you’ve been her secret admirer for the last 6 months,” She finished with a cackle and you blushed.
That was easier said than done.
*****
Julie had never been this impressed in her entire life. Sure she had been to some amazing restaurants before, but nothing like the little place her admirer had chosen. She felt every bit of hesitance leave her as she stepped into the building. It was quaint and romantic with an amazing buzz in the air.
She had found the handwritten note with the time and place on the floor outside her hotel room door, along with one of the cutest black dresses she had ever seen. It fit her perfectly, and she looked good if she did say so herself.
She approached the hostess stand, and the man behind the counter smiled at her. “Good evening miss, how may we assist you?”
She smiled back at him. “Um, I have a reservation. It’s under Mystique,” she said, suppressing a grin at the name her admirer had chosen.
The man’s smile widened as he reached into his suit jacket pocket, and retrieved a neatly folded letter. “Ah, yes. I have this for you,”
JJ to the heavy paper in her hands, running her fingers over her name written in familiar black cursive reverently. Her admirer rarely ever wrote her name out.
She very carefully unfolded the note, revealing more of her favorite handwriting.
Julie,
First and foremost, I’m so glad you could make it. I know I’ve written this beforehand, but I must say I’m sure you look amazing. You always look amazing. It doesn’t matter if it’s during practice, or during one of our very chill team bonding nights. You never fail to take my breath away, but that’s not why it’s taken me so long to finally grow a pair and come clean.
I know that you and I have history and that I’m not your ideal significant other, but I promise you’re not just another person to add to my long list. You make me feel things I’ve never really felt before, and that scares me. I don’t know how to do this, and I can’t promise I’ll be perfect, but I can promise that I’ll try my best. I will do everything I can to show you how much I love you, and to be someone worthy of your love in return.
Now comes the hard part. If you want to give me the chance to show you that I’ve grown up and am ready for a serious relationship, just tell the matroids you would like to take a drink at the bar. or If you don’t want to see me, but want to eat, just tell him you’re ready for your table. Your meal will be paid for, and I’ll leave you alone. We can even pretend it never happened if you would prefer. Or if you want neither of those things, you can walk away.
The choice is yours J. Ill respect whatever you choose, and no hard feelings either way.
Truly yours,
Y/n
Julie stared down at the letter, completely stunned, almost unable to believe that you could ever do anything this remotely romantic. A small part of her cheered as if she was waiting for you to finally step up.
She didn’t hate you, contrary to popular belief. She just thought you were incredibly confusing. You would flaunt your reputation, but then you would be sweet and shy with her. In the end, your first try at a relationship didn’t work because she was tired of you jerking her around. But this was a side to you she had never seen. One that intrigued her to no end.
“Have you made your decision ma’am?” The maitre d’ asked kindly, sliding up beside her. She blinked up from the neat handwriting towards the man (who looked like he wanted to say more).
She nodded at the man. “I have. I’d like to have a drink at the bar please,”
his smile was blinding as he gestured to the left with his arm. “Right this way,”
*****
You carefully swirled your finger around the rim of your drink, staring listlessly into the amber liquid. You weren’t quite sure how long you had been sitting here, but with every passing second, you couldn’t help but think about how much of a terrible idea this was.
She was never going to choose to come sit with you at the bar, and the longer you waited, the more pathetic you would look in the end.
You almost felt bad for the staff. They were so excited to help, so enthusiastic about helping you get the girl of your dreams. You were sure you were going to disappoint them.
“Fancy meeting you here stranger,” Her voice cut through your internal monologue. You lifted your head to meet her blue eyes, and the sight alone took your breath away.
“JJ, you came,” You said breathlessly, standing to greet the woman.
“I did,” She nodded, blushing when you took her hand and kissed the back of it before pulling out a chair for her. You sat down next to her, flagging down the bartender for the woman.
“You look stunning,” You said softly, finally turning in her direction, and she caught the light shade of pink that tinted your cheeks.
“So you’ve said,” Julie laughed, holding up the letter. The red in your cheeks spread up to your ears and down your neck as you ducked your head in embarrassment.
“Megan may have helped me pick it out…” You mumbled, your fingers returning to your glass.
Rose may or may not have gotten the entire team involved when she finally convinced you to make your move. While you were relieved to have help picking out the perfect outfit, you hadn’t enjoyed being made fun of for your “questionable” fashion sense.
“Was she behind the other gifts too?” Julie asked, taking a sip of her drink with a raised eyebrow.
You shook your head, rubbing the back of your neck. “No. Those were all me,”
Julie smiled softly, reaching up to intertwine your fingers. She wasn’t used to seeing you so shy. It was kinda adorable.
“Well, I loved them,”
You nodded again, taking a big gulp of your drink, trying to calm your racing heart. “I’m really glad you came. I was afraid you would find out it was me and change your mind,”
“I’m glad I came too,”
You smiled brilliantly at the woman. You hadn’t completely redeemed yourself yet, not like Zuko or Snape, but at least you were going to have the chance to try. You weren’t going to let her slip through your fingers again.

Stoic keeper and sick girl chapter 2
Summary: (Y/N) has taken Lexa inside to warm her up. things are revealed and big decisions are made.
Also, COVID19 doesn’t exist in this fic!
warrnings: Talking about cancer. if this is a trigger don’t read. Everything mentioned is from my own experience as may not apply to everybody.
part 1
Tumblr media
“Lexa if I may be blunt can I ask you something? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to but what else did the doctors tell you?” Lexa looks a little bit surprised at your question but when she looks into your eyes and sees nothing but kindness she relaxes again. Taking a big breath she speaks.
 “I think they called it leukaemia but I don’t know what that means. I only know I get very sick from it and to get better I have to stay in the hospital. My blood hase to get drawn a lot.” Hearing the word fall makes you pause, you had your suspicion it was some kind of cancer but for it to be leukaemia it hits close to home.
At her age, you probably couldn’t have explained it any better and you tell her as much. As a kid, you hated nothing more than talking to an adult and them not listening to you while you were confused.
Lexa looks up at you when you don’t ask questions or look at her weird. When people knew they always looked at her strangle and with pity or they would just avoid her like she had some contagious disease.
“don’t you think I’m weird?” Lexa asks you in a small voice, breaking your heart.
“why would I think you’re weird? Getting sick isn’t something you choose.” You saw tears gather in her eyes at your words and if your heart could break any more it would know. You wanted to soothe her but didn’t want to put her in any more danger.
“When I tell people they look in their eyes changes and they suddenly don’t want to play with me anymore.” Lexa sobs tears now freely falling down her cheeks. Not being able to take it anymore you shrug off your hoodie leaving you in a clean T-shirt. You also grab the disinfectant from your bag before you pick her up. She immediately buries her face in your shoulder and latches onto you with a weak grip.
“I know sweetheart, it’s okay. People fear what they don’t understand and kids can be cruel when they sense something is different.” You rock her back and forth to calm her down.
“but they are right. I am fat, ugly and weak.” Lexa sobs into your shoulder. At the same time, you want to cry with her and yell at the people who made her feel that way.
“that is not true Lexa. Your hair fell out because of the chemo. The chubbiness is because of all the steroids you get in your therapy and the reason you are feeling weak is that you are waging an internal battle. That doesn’t make you weak, do you know what that makes you?” you feel her shake her head in your shoulder, but feel her calming down.
“that makes you strong. It makes you a warrior.” You tell her, believing every word of it. It takes her a couple of minutes to completely calm down but soon enough she is speaking again.
“how do you know that?” her question is innocent and expected. Not many people knew so much about cancer.
“because Lexa I too have had Leukaemia when I was a kid, so I’m speaking out from experience when I say it seems like you are alone in the world but you are not.” It was like a weight fell off your shoulder. What you had told Lexa you hadn’t even told your teammates.
“you had the same thing I have.” Lexa looks up at you with big round eyes. She had never met anybody who had the same thing she had. Kids at the group home rather liked to avoid her because she was different.
“yes, I had. I know that you probably won’t believe me when I tell you when everything is going to be okay but it is.” You promise, making her face fall.
“no it isn’t.” her voice sounds hollow and you are a little confused at her solemn state.
“why not sweetheart?” you hope she trusts you enough to talk to you. Over this short time, you had gotten emotionally attached.
“because I ran away and am probably going to die now.” Being a little shocked hearing her tell you she ran away.
“Why did you run away from home sweetheart?” you feel her shrink into.
“I’m not mad at you Lexa I promise, I just want to help.” At your calm and soothing words, Lexa can’t help but cry again. she tries to explain everything while she is crying but you don’t understand anything of it.
“calm down sweetheart I can’t understand you like this. Try to imitate my breathing.” You lay her hand over your heart so she can feel it beating and calm down.
“because I don’t want to do it alone anymore. The people at the group home don’t care and leave alone always. I don’t want to be alone anymore.” There is so much pain and hurt in her words and you can only imagine the trauma’s she had to go through o her own. Anger overcoming you when hearing her story.
instead of letting your anger consume you make a decision that is best for Lexa. You set her down on the bench again and crouch in front of her to get her attention.
“would you want to fight again if you didn’t have to do it alone?” you ask her trying to keep your own nerves down.
“Nobody wants a broken kid like me. I’m to much work for people to want to adopt me.” She says it with so much conviction you don’t want to know how many times those words have been repeated to her and how many families had turned her down before.
“what if I told you that I would be interested to take you in. I promise you will never have to do any of that scary stuff alone again.” the hope in her eyes makes your heart warm.
“you would want me?” you smile at her and nod. You were going to have to do a couple of preparations ut you were prepared to go the extra mile.
“Lexa I want to go all-in if you want to try it too. The only thing you need to do is trust me oaky?” suddenly Lexa is hanging around your neck and hugging you.
“I want to try.” With those words, you jump into action. You had heard a couple of your teammates on the other side of the door and you would need their help to make this work. Calling out Christen and Ali respond.

The first thing you hear as you make your way through the airport is a high-pitched squeal, everyone around stopping to turn towards the source of the sound.
You beam, opening your arms, waiting for the blonde sprinting your way to get to you.
She slams into you, her lips pressing against yours.
“Well nice to see you too.” You say in between kisses, Julie Johnston kissing your lips over and over and over again, only ceasing when she can’t stop grinning.
“I missed you so much.” She whispers, burying her face in your chest, the woman inhaling your scent greedily.
You duck down, burying your nose in her blonde locks, nuzzling into the top of her head.
“I’ve missed you too.”
Julie’s embrace is warm, a warmth that spreads to your heart, your chest feeling lighter than it had in the last 4 months that you’d been without the woman.
Your job took you overseas at times, a job the woman in your arms wasn’t aware, that you’d currently transferred from, a job you could now do while traveling along with Julie, or staying at home in Chicago.
The two of you pull apart, both leaning in again to close the gap between you, the two of you smiling against one another’s lips.
“I love you.” You whisper against the woman’s lips, the woman beaming as she wraps her arms around your neck.
“I love you too Y/N.”
A wolf whistle pulls the two of you apart, your eyes snapping open at roughly the same time, Julie rolling her blue orbs in annoyance.
Julie groans, burying her face in your chest, the woman nuzzling into your collarbone.
“I see you invited some friends.” You grin as Kelley O’Hara and the rest of the USWNT waves excitedly your way.
“Just some.” Julie whispers against your chest.
“Well? You plan on introducing me?” You ask, the blonde pulling back to look up at you with a grimace.
“I hope you’re ready...” She teases and you nod, eyes narrowed as you stare at the women, some who are currently dancing in the middle of the airport.
You shake your head with a chuckle.
“Oh, I think I’m ready.”
Julie takes your hand, her fingers tangling with yours as the two of you move towards the group of excited women.
Unsurprisingly, you’re not even to the group before Crystal and Alyssa meet you halfway, your hand leaving Julies as Crystal pulls you into a bear hug, whereas Alyssa wraps her arms around the two of you, giving you both a squeeze.
“Nice to see you both too.” You laugh, giving Crystal a tight squeeze before you wrap your arms around Alyssa, the goalie giving you a squeeze.
“Julie’s been talking about this for a month.” She whispers in your ear and you chuckle, turning to Julie who looks as if she’s threatening the group of women you’ve yet to meet.
Tierna makes her way over to you, throwing her arms around you giving you a hug.
“Did you tell her yet?” She whispers in your ear, Crystal and Alyssa leaning closer to the two of you.
You shake your head.
“No, I’m going to tell her tonight.”
Crystal claps her hands excitedly.
“Do it at dinner! I want to see her face when you tell her.” She grins, Alyssa and Tierna nodding in agreement.
You nod, watching Julie out of the corner of your eye, the blonde turning to you, blue orbs sparkling as a grin spreads across her face.
“I think I can do that.”
Your vision to your girlfriend is cut off when someone slips between the two of you, that someone grinning, that someone being Kelley O’Hara.
“SO, you’re Y/N.” She grins, the woman’s eyes narrowing slightly.
“Th-That’s me.” You grin nervously, the woman’s other teammates joining her.
“Nice to finally meet who Julie goes on about all the time.” Tobin grins, and Christen nods.
“It’s cute how much she talks about you.”
You turn to Julie, the woman’s cheeks flushing red.
“She goes on about you constantlyyyyyyyy.” Emily drones, earning a slap on the back of the head from Lindsey.
“Hey! I didn’t say that was a bad thing!” She winces, rubbing the back of her head.
“Hey she isn’t wrong.” Kelley shrugs, the woman too, being slapped on the back of the head by Alex.
“We’re really happy we’re finally getting to meet you.” She smiles.
“Yeah, we were about to just show up at your house in the off season.” Ashlyn shrugs and you grin.
“I can’t say I would’ve mind, but Julie sleeps until like 1 PM, sooo... OW!” You grimace when Julie grabs your ear.
“I do not sleep until 1! That’s you.”
You roll your eyes, slipping an arm around her and pulling her close.
“Only because you keep me up all night...” You smirk, Julie’s eyes widening as her cheeks flush blood red.
“With your snoring.” You finish, Julie, punching you in the side, her teammates watching, snickering.
“Yeah, I like her.” Megan grins, Ashlyn nodding as she throws an arm around her shoulders, everyone smiling as you duck down, kissing Julie’s forehead, the woman unable to bite back a grin.
“Me too.”
                                                         ***
The second you and the mob of women settle at the restaurant’s dinner table, you slip an arm around your girlfriend, the woman smiling as she leans against you.
“I’m so happy I get to be here with you.” You whisper, kissing her temple, the blonde’s eyes fluttering shut.
“Me too.”
Julie’s blue orbs flutter open, the woman cupping your cheek and turning your head, her lips pressing tenderly against yours.
She grins, her thumb brushing your bottom lip, blushing when you press a kiss to the pad of her thumb.
“I love you.” She whispers and you grin.
“I love you too.”
Emily makes a wrenching noise, only to be punched in the arm seconds later by Lindsey, the woman sending her a glare.
“Let them be cute asshole.”
Emily scoffs.
“It’s my goal in life to fake vomit at any and everyone’s happiness.”
You snort, taking a sip of your drink.
“She sounds like me.” You whisper in Julie’s ear, the woman giggling as she slaps your chest.
“You’re a secret softie.”
You gasp.
“I am, NO softy.”
Julie rolls her eyes.
“You whine every time I leave bed to go for my morning run.”
You scoff.
“You get up WAY too early, and the bed’s cold without you.” You pout, Julie’s brow arching.
“See, softy.”
You shrug, your eyes darting around Julie’s face.
“Only for you.”
Julie’s cheeks flush, the woman’s head resting against your chest.
“So, how did you two meet? It was in college, right?” Ali asks with a smile and you grin.
“We went to college together, the lesbian fanfiction, roommate's trope.” You laugh. “Also, we WERE at a Catholic school.” You hum, Julie shaking her head.
“Hey lesbians can go to Catholic school.” Megan snorts and Kelley shrugs.
“That mostly happens in por- OW!” Kelley is stopped mid-sentence when Alex flicks her on the side of her head.
“No.”
“But Jan-”
“No.” Alex says again, and you bark out a laugh.
“That does sound like a porno.” You snort, Julie punching you hard in the arm.
You shake your head.
“It wasn’t like that honestly, we didn’t like each other.” You laugh, rubbing the back of your neck.
“Oh my god, how much more tropey could you get?” Ashlyn snickers, sipping her drink and stuffing a biscuit in her mouth.
“I know, right?” You laugh. “In the end, Julie found me irresistible, so...” You smirk cockily. “Here we are.”
Julie rolls her eyes, sending you a playful glare.
“That was NOT how it went.” She says, sticking her tongue out at you.
“Well, that’s how I remember it.” You snort, the two of you knowing full well, that’s NOT how you remembered it.
“More like you stopped being cocky and turned into a softy when I came to our room crying and drunk over some guy.” She shrugs and you growl.
“He was a prick.” You grumble angrily, smiling when Julie kisses your cheek.
“He was, but I had someone better than him, just took me a while to realize it.” She cups your cheek, turning your head until she can press a kiss to your lips.
“Wait...” Crystal clears her throat. “Didn’t you tell me he got his ass kicked?” She asks, and Julie giggles.
“I did. It was hilarious.”
A smirk stretches across Tobin’s face when she sees the look on yours.
“Ever figure out who did it?” She asks and Julie shakes her head.
“No, he wouldn’t sa- Wait.” Julie stops mid-sentence, the woman turning to you.
You grimace, grinning innocently.
“IT WAS YOU!?” She practically yells, everyone in the restaurant turning to the table.
You clear your throat, downing your drink in a single gulp.
“Hold on, but you looked fine.” She throws her hands in the air and you smirk.
“He was a bitch.” You say as you wipe your shoulders off, the blonde rolling her eyes, unable to bite her grin back.
“Yeah, I definitely like her.” Kelley nods, the defender earning a toothy grin.
“I take it you won the fight?” Carli asks and you nod.
“Wasn’t much of a fight to begin with.”
Julie giggles.
“So THAT’S why he wouldn’t even look my way for the rest of the year.”
You nod.
“I told him if he did I would...”
You go silent, glancing at Tierna.
“Cover your ears.”
The younger player scoffs.
“No!”
You huff, blowing a raspberry at the girl.
“Fine. Fine. I told him I would ummm...” You shrug, glancing at Julie. “Remove his iota of manhood.” You whisper.
A beat passes before the entire table erupts in laughter, each and every one of them doubling over with laughter, Julie giggling against your chest.
“That’s the funniest thing I ever heard.” Christen wipes the corners of her eyes and you shrug.
“He deserved it. No way was I going to let him get away with hurting JJ.” You say looking down at your girlfriend who picks her head up.
“That was WAY before we started getting along.”
Becky smirks.
“Oh god, you were crushing on her, weren’t you?” She asks and you grin innocently.
“Another trope down.” Ashlyn creates an invisible check mark in the air with her index finger.
“I guess we were meant then.” You smile lovingly at your girlfriend, the blonde’s cheeks flushing pink.
“I guess so.”
You glance at Crystal and Alyssa out of the corner of your eye, the two nodding as you clear your throat, reining in your courage.
“I uhhh, might have uhhh...” You swallow hard, taking a deep breath. “I have something I need to tell you.”
Julie’s eyes widen, brows knitting in confusion.
“Wh-What?” She asks nervously and you smile, cupping her cheeks before leaning in, pressing a kiss to the tip of her nose.
“It’s nothing to worry about.” You smile.
“I transferred.” You say, Julie’s eyes widening.
“Wait, what do you mean? Overseas?” She asks nervously, the brightness in her eyes dulling.
Your eyes widen.
“No, no, no.” You say, waving your hands around wildly, Julie catching them to stop your nervous flailing.
You take a deep breath.
“I meant, I transferred home...” You smile, Julie’s blue orbs lighting back up. “But I CAN travel...” You shrug, Julie’s grin nearly splitting her face in half.
“Oh?” She says innocently. “And where to?”
You hum.
“Wherever you are.” You grin, Julie pulling you in for a firm kiss, your lips slamming together.
“You’re serious?” She whispers and you nod.
“As long as you want me to come with you.” You shrug and Julie snorts.
“OF COURSE, I DO.” She giggles, pulling you in for another kiss.
You again part, reluctantly, grins plastered on both of your faces.
“So that means I can follow you to your next game?” You ask, the blonde nodding enthusiastically as she pulls you in for another kiss.
“Well yeah, you better.”
Julie’s teammates watch the two of you as you snuggle up to one another, whispering softly in one another’s ears.
“She’s so good for her, isn’t she?” Christen whispers.
The rest of the table are quick to agree.
                                                         ***
It had been the first time in a WHILE that you were going to see a USWNT game live, and you couldn't wait.
“Ready?”
Your eyes widen as you’re pulled out of your trance by Julie’s voice.
The woman pulled some strings so you could sit closer to the action, meaning you get to sit in the VIP section.
“More than ready, I can’t wait.” You beam, Julie giggling as she leans over the seat between the two of you.
“Good luck kiss?” She asks, and you laugh.
“Don’t even have to ask.”
Your lips meet in a tender kiss, the woman pulling back only to lean back in, stealing another kiss before she follows her teammates to the locker room.
You sigh, leaning back in your seat, your fingers brushing the budge in your pocket.
Even though the game was simply a friendly, it was going to be one that everyone remembered, and the box in your pocket would definitely be the reason why.
                                                         ***
Julie Johnston had been playing like she always had, but seeing it live was like something you never experienced.
You couldn’t remain seated because watching her was exhilarating, the woman sliding into players and swiping the ball over and over again.
Watching your girlfriend in action left you in utter awe, and when she sunk a header, you knew you were cheering the loudest in the arena.
Julie’s blue orbs dart to you as she celebrates with her team, the woman grinning as you blow a kiss her way, the woman giggling as she catches it.
You beam as play resumes, your girlfriend playing as if she hadn’t been playing for nearly 40 minutes.
The whistle blows soon after, signaling the end of the first half and you smile, your girlfriend jogging towards you, leaning over the seat to press a kiss to your lips.
“So, what did you think?” She asks, her tongue trapped between her teeth and you snicker.
“I think I know who my favorite player is.” You smile, leaning in to press another tender kiss to her lips.
“Oh, someone I know?”
“Johnston!”
The two of you turn to find Crystal, smirking at the two of you, her hands on her hips.
“You better get going before she carries you out.” You smirk, Julie rolling her eyes as she presses another kiss to your lips.
“See you in a bit?” She asks and you grin.
“I’ll be right here waiting.”
Julie pulls back with a giggle she and Crystal jogging toward the tunnel and eventually out of sight.
                                                         ***
“Excuse me, Y/N?”
Your brows furrow as you turn around, your brows further furrowing when you see a reporter standing behind you.
“Umm, hi.” You smile.
“I was wondering if we could get a word?” She smiles and you chuckle.
“With me?” You ask again and she nods, eyeing you intently, in a way that makes your cheeks flush.
“It’s not every day we see Julie Johnston’s significant other at a game, just wanted to get your thoughts.” She winks and you hum.
“O-Okay.”
                                                         ***
Julie’s eyes narrow as she watches the interviewer ogle you unashamedly.
The blonde lets out a growl and Tobin snorts.
“Don’t let Julie anywhere near that reporter when we get back on the field.” She whispers to Christen, the forward giggling.
“Down JJ.” Alex teases and she hums.
“She’s looking at Y/N like a starving lion.” Emily winces, eyes widening when Julie glares her way.
“Hey, don’t look at me, I’m not eyeing your wife.”
Julie’s eyes widen, her cheeks flushing blood red.
“She’s not...” She swallows hard. “We’re not...”
Emily winks.
“Not yetttttt...”
Julie smiles softly.
The thought of marrying you had crossed her mind daily, she wanted it, she wanted to be with you, and she wanted more than anything to be with you always.
Julie’s pulled out of her trance by a giggle, her eyes narrowing as she turns back to the TV, the reporter still ogling you as you talk.
“Let’s get back out to the field.” Vlatko claps his hands and Julie nods.
“Gladly.”
                                                         ***
“Thank you so much for your interview Y/N, it’s a real honor having you here to-
The reporter stops mid-sentence when Julie appears out of nowhere, the woman’s arm slipping around your waist, her free hand moving to cup your cheek, turning your head so your lip can meet gently.
You kiss her softly, the two of you parting, neither going far as you tilt your head back and kiss her forehead.
“Thank you for your time Y/N.”
Julie smirks, watching as the reporter takes her leave.
Your eyes narrow as you watch her go, a grin stretching across your face.
“Was someone jealous?” You ask, the blonde rolling her eyes.
“No, I was NOT jealous of that...”
Julie’s mouth snaps shut at the look on your face, the woman huffing.
“Maybe a little, but she was staring at you like Kelley does at an all you can eat buffet.” She growls and you laugh, kissing the tip of her nose.
“I know and she didn’t even try to hide it.” You mumble, watching as Julie again glares at the reporter, letting out a tiny growl.
“Well, she won’t do it again.” She murmurs and you smirk, kissing her forehead.
“Oh, I know she won’t, not while you’re here.” You laugh. “Now go put a hurtin’ on Canada.”
Julie smiles.
“You’ve got it.”
                                                         ***
Unsurprisingly, Julie, yet again tears the field up, playing the entire 90 minutes, the final resort being USWNT 3 Canada WNT 1, only a single ball making it passed Alyssa Naeher.
The final whistle blows and Julie sprints to you, the woman giggling as you meet her halfway, catching her as she jumps into your open arms.
Your lips meet in a tender kiss, the two of you parting when you, as per usual, can’t stop grinning.
“Were you showing off?” You ask, earning a giggle.
“Maybe just a little.”
You clear your throat, your hand unconsciously brushing the tiny box in your pocket.
“Jul-
You stop mid-sentence when Tierna comes flying out of nowhere, jumping on your back.
“We won!” She beams and you chuckle, Alyssa and Crystal joining the party, Alyssa patting your back.
“You made some great saves.” You smile, Alyssa smiling shyly.
You turn to Crystal.
“I guess you did okay.”
The woman rolls her eyes, giving you a playful shove, it’s then you realize that Julie has made her way across field to shake a number of Canadian player’s hands.
“I need to show you guys something.” You whisper, Tierna, Alyssa and Crystal leaning in close.
“What are we talking about?” Emily asks, appearing out of nowhere, Lindsey and the other children on her heels followed by Kelley.
“Yeah, what’s going on?” She asks, jumping on Alyssa’s back and you take a deep breath.
“Well...”
                                                         ***
A number of squeals pull everyone’s attention, including Julie’s, across field to where you and a number of other USWNT players are standing, the group all huddled around you.
Julie’s brows furrow as she walks to you and the group, the group parting so you can make your way towards her, something clutched in your fist.
Julie frowns at the look on your face.
“Are you okay? You look like you’re going to puke...” Julie giggles and you clear your throat, nodding.
Julie’s brows furrow when she sees a number of her teammate’s giddily bouncing on their heels behind you.
“I know last night I told you I transferred so we could be together and I didn’t have to be so far from home, but there was something else I wanted to tell you...” You clear your throat, face pale.
“Seriously wha-
Julie’s blue orbs widen when her eyes settle on the small black velvet box in your hands.
Blue orbs fill with tears as they dart from your face, to the box and back.
“Y/N...” She whispers, her heart racing in her chest.
You stare at the velvet box for a moment, taking a deep breath before you sink to one knee, the fans in the crowd cheering loudly as the USWNT watch excitedly.
“I had planned on doing this earlier, but the timing just wasn’t right.” You smile softly, shyly.
“But here, at the first match I’ve gotten to see live in a long, long time, I think now the timing is JUST right.” You chuckle nervously.
Julie giggles as tears stream down her cheeks, your shyness as endearing as it always had been.
“I want to spend the rest of my life with you Julie Beth Johnston, I want to grow old with you.” You smile, Julie unable to hide her growing grin.
“I want to have kids with you.”
“I want to see the world with you.”
“I want to spend forever with you.”
You take a deep breath.
“You’re my forever JJ, so now, can I be yours? Julie Beth Johnston, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?” You ask, opening the velvet box to reveal a diamond ring.
Julie immediately drops to her knees, the woman throwing her arms around your neck as she slams her lips against yours.
Tears stream down your own cheeks as your lips meet.
“Is that a yes?” You laugh against her lips, pulling back with a grin.
Julie kisses your lips again.
“YES! YES! A MILLION TIMES YES!”
You grin, surging in to kiss her lips again before you’re pulling back, taking the diamond ring out of it’s box and slipping it on her finger, the woman letting out a squeal.
The second the ring rests just above her knuckle she pulls back, cupping your cheeks and slamming her lips against yours, the cool feel of her engagement ring on your face.
Julie pulls back, resting her forehead against yours.
“You’re my fiancé.” She whispers and you grin.
“And you’re mine.”
Suddenly someone dives on your back and you groan.
“LET ME SEE THAT ROCK.” Megan grins, she Kelley and Ashlyn, along with Emily, Lindsey and the other youngsters straining to look at the ring on Julie’s finger.
You grin, watching as her teammate’s fawn over her ring, a number of camera’s zooming in on you and the USWNT mid-fielder, your hands finding purchase on her waist.
“You did good bud.” Alyssa pats your back.
“That proposal was so sweet.” Christen says, her hand over her heart.
“It was beautiful.” Alex grins, patting your back.
“I wanted to do this last night, but it just didn’t seem right... She loves soccer so much, and when she thinks about it, I want her to remember this moment.” You shrug, smiling when Julie turns back towards you, a grin taking up nearly half of her face.
“You’re always on my mind.” She whispers as she cups your cheek.
You grin, leaning in to kiss your fiancé’s lips.
“And you’re always on mine.”
                                                         ***
You couldn’t help but blush when Julie abruptly declines going out with the others, her teammates smirking knowingly.
“Try not to have TOO MUCH fun.” Crystal teases and you groan.
“You just had to deny them so quickly.” You grumble under your breath and Julie giggles.
“Sorry?” She shrugs and you snort.
“You aren’t sorry at all are you?” You ask and the blonde shakes her head.
“Nope.”
Julie leans in pressing a kiss to your cheek, giving her teammates a grin before the two of you head to the elevator.
“Use protection!” Kelley screams and your cheeks redden, Julie’s cheeks equally red.
The two of you wordlessly get into the elevator, Julie’s fingers tangling with yours as she leans against you.
“So, Ms. Johnston, what do you have planned for our night?” You ask innocently, the blonde giggling.
“I don’t know, what did you have in mind?”
You hum.
“Sleep sounds fine.”
Julie scoffs, rolling her eyes as she takes your hand and drags you down the hallway towards you room.
“Shut up.”
You snort as the blonde eventually gets the door open, shoving you inside.
“What? Sleep was a very plausible respo-
Julie cuts you off, shoving you back against the hotel room’s door and kissing your lips passionately, the two of you only parting when the need for oxygen becomes too much.
Julie giggles when you scoop her up in the air, the blonde’s legs wrapping around your middle.
“I mean, this is better than what I had planned.” You smirk, Julie unable to hold back her laughter as you carry her to the bed.
You bury your face in her neck, playfully nibbling at her tanned flesh where you KNOW she’s ticklish.
You gently lay her on the bed, standing over the blonde with a grin, your eyes softening as you stare at your fiancé, the woman pushing herself up on her elbows she can look you in the eye.
“I love you.” She whispers, your lips splitting into a grin.
“I love you too...” You whisper, kicking your shoes off before you jerk your shirt over your head.
“Now let me show you how much.”
                                                         ***
Making love to your eventual wife was different than it usually had been, you weren't just with your girlfriend, the woman you wanted to spend the rest of your life with, you were with your FIANCE, who wanted to spend the rest of her life with you too.
It’s in that moment, lying beside your future wife, entirely bare, the woman’s blue orbs locked with your Y/E/C orbs, you know that there’s no one you’d rather spend your eternity with than Julie Johnston.
Julie grins, pulling you forwards, her lips pressing tenderly against yours.
“I love you Y/N.” She whispers and you grin.
“I love you too.”

Up and At ‘Em [Julie Johnston x Reader]
Tumblr media
Your phone alarm rings out, echoing throughout the hotel room. You reach out from under the covers to stop the noise, as your girlfriend, Julie Johnston, groans, pulling the blankets over her head.
You and Julie had started dating almost a year ago, and Vlatko rarely roomed you guys together, for obvious reasons. So whenever you two happened to be roommates, you took advantage. The only thing Julie cannot stand when you guys room together is that you are an early riser, always getting up right when the alarm rings, and sometimes even before, whereas Julie prefers to sleep in and gradually roll out of bed.
After getting up to open the curtains, you hop back in bed, shaking the sleeping blonde woman, in attempt to wake her up.
“Good morning, babe. It’s time to wake up.” You gently whisper.
Julie lets out a grunt of refusal. You coax, “Come on, Jules. We have to get ready or else we’re gonna be late for breakfast.”
Still with no response from under the covers, you pull down the blankets, exposing your girlfriend to the cold air. You briefly check out her pajama-clad body, particularly her muscular legs, dressed only in short shorts.
“(Y/N)!” Julie groans, as she slightly sits up to reach for the blankets. You let out a little giggle, tackling her back down to the bed.
“Wake up. Wake up. Wake up. Wake up!” You squeal against Julie’s cheek, as you pepper her face with kisses.
The midfielder reaches behind her head to cover her face with the pillow, blocking your efforts at getting her up. You can barely hear Julie mumble, “I hate you,” her voice muffled by her pillow. You roll your eyes at your girlfriend’s childish antics.
“I love you, too, babe. But you know what?”
“Huh?” Julie huffs out, peeking out from her hiding spot.
“I’d love you even more if you woke up to get ready for breakfast.” You cheekily reply. Julie shakes her head, turning away from you and pulling the covers back over her body.
“Julieeeeee.” You whine. “We’re gonna be late! And we still have to get ready and shower.” If there was one thing you hated the most, it was being late to things, especially during national team camps.
“Go ahead and get in the shower. I’ll be up in a minute, and I’ll get in after you.” Julie mumbles. You scoff at that response, knowing she’s just stalling for more time in bed without you bothering her.
“Don’t even try that with me, babe. I know you’re just gonna fall back asleep, and I’m gonna have to try and wake you up all over again.” You can see Julie slightly smile, knowing the truth behind your words.
“Babeee. You literally got almost 9 hours of sleep. Let’s GO!” You complain, grabbing your own pillow to hit Julie over the head. With still no response from the blonde, who was adamant about staying in bed, you let out a sigh of frustration and get up off the bed, fed up with your girlfriend’s behavior.
Heading towards the bathroom, you grab the hem of your pajama shirt, pulling it over your head and tossing it back on the bed. Looking over your shoulder, you throw your girlfriend a smirk.
“Fine suit yourself. I’m going to take a shower. I wanted you to join me, but I guess I’ll have to take it by myself…”
Julie immediately leaps out of bed, your statement stirring a certain feeling within her.
“No, no! I’m up!” Julie scrambles after you, tripping over the covers she’d previously thrown off.
Stripping off the rest of your clothes, you enter the bathroom, smirking to yourself.
“Knew that would work.”

Sharing - Julie Johnston/Reader
prompt: JJ and R start sharing stuff in their relationship
warnings: none
words: 768
Tumblr media
Y/N POV
“(Y/N), have you seen my sweater?” JJ called out to me.
“Which one? You have like 100,” I joked.
I could hear JJ laugh at that because no matter how many sweaters JJ had, I had at least twice as many.
“My USWNT one,” JJ said after she stopped laughing. I glanced in the mirror to look at the sweater that I had on. “I could have sworn that I brought it with me.”
“Uh... No, I don’t know where it is,” I denied as I thought about how I was going to get out of the room without JJ realizing that I was indeed wearing her sweater. “Maybe you left it in Chicago.”
“No, I saw it this morning,” JJ denied and I sighed. I really didn’t want JJ to wear the sweater cause it was one of her bigger ones that just completely engulfed me. It was especially comfy, but my favorite part was that it smelled just like JJ.
“Maybe Crystal took it?” I suggested. I knew that Crystal was always in our room and she would sometimes borrow JJ’s clothes. “I don’t know, JJ.”
“Okay, I’m going to go ask Crystal if she’s got it.”
I could hear JJ’s footsteps headed to the door and I couldn’t help but look out of the bathroom to see that JJ hadn’t even bothered with a shirt to go down the hall. I shook my head after I heard the door close behind JJ before I pulled out my phone. I shot Tobin a text to make sure that she and Christen weren’t busy before I headed to their room. I knew it would only be a matter of time before JJ came back to our room realizing that Crystal didn’t have her hoodie.
I made the quick journey down the hall before knocking on the door. I swayed on my feet while I waited for Tobin to answer the door. Instead, I was quickly pulled into the room by Christen.
“You know, JJ is looking for you,” Christen hissed. I furrowed my brow in confusion. She looked down at the sweater that I was wearing.
“Cause of her sweater?”
“She knows you’re here. JJ already sent us a text saying she was coming this way,” Christen shrugged and my eyes went wide. “You apparently told Crystal that you were taking JJ’s sweater and she wasn’t happy that you tried to blame her.”
There was a knock on the door and I whirled around to look at it. I turned back to Christen and she was already shaking her head.
“Chris, please, you can’t let her in,” I begged. Tobin walked out of the bathroom and I looked at her. “Tobs, tell your girlfriend that she can’t let JJ in.”
“Why would I tell my girlfriend to keep your crush out? Why don’t you tell her to leave.”
“Cause (Y/N) is wearing JJ’s sweater.”
“Okay, and JJ left without a shirt,” I informed Christen, causing her to roll her eyes. “I turn to a gay puddle when JJ is around, much more so when JJ has no shirt on.”
Christen rolled her eyes before walking toward the door and draggin me with her. She opened the door and JJ turned to look at me with a raised eyebrow, but before she could say anything, Christen had shoved me out of the room.
“Don’t try to come back in.”
The door shut and I chuckled as I kept my eyes trained on the ground. I scratched at the back of my neck cause JJ hadn’t said anything.
“Are you mad?” I bit my lip hoping that JJ wasn’t.
“No, like...” JJ trailed off causing me to look up at her. My jaw dropped a little seeing her standing there without a shirt. “It’s just, I can’t believe you’re actually wearing my clothes.”
“I can’t believe you still don’t have a shirt on.”
“What was that?” JJ asked with a smirk.
“Nothing,” I shook my head.
JJ gave me a soft smile before wrapping her arms around my waist. JJ pulled me closer to her before kissing my temple.
“You look really cute in that sweater,” JJ whispered causing my cheeks to heat up. “A lot better on you than on me.”
She pulled away from me before heading down the hall. I watched as she headed back to our room with a smile.
“Does this mean that we’re sharing clothes now?”
“Only if I get to see you in my clothes all the time,” JJ smirked as she turned to look at me. “You look hot.”

Skateboarding Shenanigans~USWNT x Baby Reader
Tumblr media
Hey there! Here’s an imagine requested by @rainbowpants27 Enjoy!
Y/N PRO:
Being on the United States Women’s International team is interesting to say the least. I am the youngest player on the squad at 17 years old, which means that I’m the baby and as the baby I am coddled and protected fiercely. The entire team act as my “moms” and would go to war for me at the drop of a hat. When I get sick they are the first ones by my side feeding me soup and fluids. If I’m injuried on the field they take it upon themselves to destroy the player who committed the foul, accident or not. Sometimes I get a little overwhelmed with it all and wish they would ease up a bit.
It was our off day and was riding my skateboard around the city we were playing in, I was having a great time but I wasn’t paying attention and completely missed the set of stairs in front of me, I only realized what was happening when it was too late. When I put my foot on the ground to stop my board I jerked forward and went tumbling down the steps, hitting my head on the concrete at the bottom. I may or may not have forgotten to put on my helmet before I left.
“Ouch, my head.” I said reaching up to cup the back of my head.
When I pulled my hand away there was a substantial amount of blood on it and I realized I was in big trouble.
“Oh no, no, no. Moms are gonna kill me!”
I got up quickly running up the steps, grabbing my board and all but sprinting back to the hotel we were staying at. My arm was killing me but I was afraid to even look at it because I had a feeling there would be even more blood. My head felt like it was going to explode and I knew I was seriously hurt but I’d rather eat broccoli for a whole week than tell the team. I knew the minute they found out they would fuss over me and baby me to the extreme and they’d never let me go anywhere alone again.
I finally made it back to the hotel and checked in the lobby to see if any of the team was there before I went inside, when I saw that it was clear I sprinted to the elevator and pushed the button for the floor my room was on. I prayed that my roommate, Alex wasn’t in the room because out of everyone on the team she was by far the most maternal with me, and after her it was Julie, and then Christen. I made it to the room and fished my key out of my pocket, I opened the door slowly peeking inside to see if Alex was there and when I determined she wasn’t I made my way inside and immediately hid the evidence. I put my skateboard back in my bag, and I shed the hoodie and jeans I was wearing, there was a bunch of blood on both clothing items. I checked my head again and  the blood had slowed considerably, and I finally took a look at my arm and saw that it was skinned pretty good but nothing too serious.
After  Making sure that any trace of my accident was hidden I jumped in the shower to wash my hair, it was excruciating because of the road rash like injury on my arm but I got through it. I probably should have cleaned my arm before I got in the shower... oops. Once I was out of the shower and dressed I started to clean my wounds. I put antibiotic cream on my arm before I bandaged it so that it wouldn't get infected, and when I checked my head a third time the blood had all but stopped, “huh. Probably don’t have to worry about it then.” I thought.
Before I went down for dinner I put on a new hoodie so that I could hide my arm and I made sure that there was no blood on my head anywhere. When I entered the room where all the food was set up all eyes were on me immediately.
“Y/N where have you been? We were starting to get worried.” Alex said being the first one to me.
“I just went skateboarding and then came back and took a shower.” I said hoping to calm her nerves.
“Just let someone know next time please.” She said while wrapping arms around me, pulling me into her chest.
While she was hugging me, rocking us a little bit she brought her hand up to cup the back of my head and I involuntarily flinched away from her touch.
“Are you okay, what’s wrong?” She said worriedly
“Nothing, I’m okay.”
“No you’re not, you flinched.You never do that”
“Alex I’m fine.”
“You’re lying.”
“No I’m not. I’m okay, please just leave it alone.” I say irritated
“Mmm, okay fine.” She says, looking like she doesn't believe me in the slightest.
Alex moves to go sit back down at the table she was at with Julie, Chris, Tobin, Ashlyn and Ali. I can tell she talking about me because I can see them all looking over at me and then looking away. I just choose to ignore them all, getting a plate for myself and going to sit down at the table. When I do Julie is the first to speak
“What’s wrong?”
“Hello to you too JJ. Nothing.”
“You sure?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, whatever you say kid.”
They all look at me concerned, dammit Alex. I know they don’t believe me but I don’t really care. I just eat my food, listening to them converse with one another before getting up and throwing my trash away, as I’m leaving Lindsey unexpectedly jumps on my back out of nowhere scaring me half to death.
“Lindsey! Jesus, don’t do that to me.” I say regaining my footing.
“You know you love me!”
“Yeah, yeah will you get off?”
She does and after she does she wraps me up in a hug, I try to ignore the burn in my arm from wrapping my arms around her but then she goes to cup the back of my head. What is with everyone doing that today? I jerk away and move to protect my head.
“Ow Linds, don’t do that please.”
“What hug you?”
“Uh, n-no. Just forget about it.” I say hurriedly leaving the room when I see all the veterans looking at me concerned. l book it back to the room and jump under the covers, pretending to be asleep so that they won’t try to talk to me. Several minutes later I hear the door to the room open and several sets of footsteps walking in.
“I’m really worried about Y/N guys. I think she’s hurt.”
“You saw her flinch again, didn’t you?” Christen asks
“Yeah and did you guys see her wincing when she hugged Lindsey back?” JJ chimes in.
“I think we need to take her to get check out by dawn and the medical staff.” Becky says
“I agree. She’s hiding something.” Ashlynn says.
“Should we wake her?” Ali asks, the only one of the group really trying to stay quiet.
Wow almost all the veterans are here, just great.
“I will.” Alex says moving closer to my bed.
“Y/N, sweet girl wake up.”
“mmm, what?” I fake waking up so as to not blow my cover.
“Wake up baby, we’re gonna take you to see Dawn.”
“Why?”
“You’re hurt”
“No I’m not.”
“Really? Prove it.” Tobin says out of nowhere.
So I move to stand up, trying to “prove” i’m not injured but when I do I suddenly feel really light headed and feel myself falling.
“Woah, take it easy. You’re okay. I’ve got you.” Alex says as she catches me as I fall forward, everyone else reaching for me as well.
“We’re taking you to Dawn, end of discussion.”
I nod weakly as Alex picks me up, carrying me to the medical room. Everyone else following.
“Alex, my head hurts” I say, my voice cracking.
“I know baby, we’re almost there.”
Once we get there they lay me on one of the exam tables and the medics immediately get to work. They take off my hoodie and reveal my bandaged arm to the girls, several of whom gasp at seeing it. They move to examine my head and when they reach the one sensitive spot I cry out.
“Don’t hurt her!” I hear Christen yell.
“Shhh, easy. You’re okay.” Alex says squeezing my hand.
“We’re all right here.” Julie says running her fingers through my hair.
From what I can see through my tears, Ashlyn and Ali are shooting daggers at the medics like it’s their fault I’m hurt. Just as I thought, when the girls see the blood from my head they freak out and start asking me what happened.
“Oh baby... why didn’t you tell us?”
“How could you keep this from us?”
“You put yourself in a lot of danger.”
Tobin quieted them down, saying that we would talk about it later, the medics finished up, and after I had been rehydrated I was able to leave. Alex once again picked me up, refusing to let me walk anywhere.
“Alex I’m okay. I can walk.”
“Shhh, it’s okay. You need to rest so I’m gonna carry you.”
I just nod and lay my head in the crook of her neck. Once we’re back in the room Alex lays down with me on the bed moving to make us comfortable, while everyone else starts moving around frantically gathering water, gatorade, and soup. Christen goes to grab an ice pack for my head and when she comes back she eases me up and lays the pack underneath. I try not to show too much emotion but I let out a pathetic whimper when the ice makes contact with my head.
“Shhh, I’m sorry. This will make you feel better, I promise.” She says as she kisses my forehead.
Alex starts to run her fingers through my hair trying to comfort me. Julie moves to lay on my other side. Christen, Becky, Tobin, Ashlynn and Ali all find a way to fit on the bed with us, Christen taking it upon herself to feed me little bits of soup and water because
“Losing all that blood couldn’t have been good for you.”
After finishing my water and soup I started to drift off, I knew that in the morning the whole team would be on me about what happened but I was ready for whatever they threw at me.
The next morning
Alex PRO:
Last night after we got Y/N to finally fall alseep the girls and I talked about her reckless behavior earlier in the day. If she had told us what happened instead of hiding it from us we could have helped her sooner and she wouldn’t have almost passed out. We talked about what we should do regarding her skateboard and after initially discussing taking it away we all decided that was a bit extreme and we would only ever do that if she continued to skate without a helmet.
We all crammed onto the one bed and fell asleep like that, so it was no suprise when I woke up and found that Christen had somehow found her way on top of me and Julie was laying across my legs, and the other girls were squished around us all trying to be as close to Y/N as possible.
“Chris, I love you sis but you need to get off me please.” I said trying to wake her as nicely as I could.
“Hmm? Oh, sorry Al.” She said coming to and slowly crawling off of me, and in the process waking JJ and the others.
“How you feeling Y/N?” Julie asks
“I’m okay, my head and arm hurt but it’s not too bad.”
As soon as she said that Ashlyn jumped up and grabbed some painkillers, giving them to her hoping to relieve some of her pain. Suddenly out of nowhere the door to our room burst open, the entire rest of the team rushing in trying to get to Y/N.
“Let us see the kid!!” Kelley shouted
“WHERE IS THE BABY?” Megan boomed shoving her way through everyone.
“What did you do dumbass?” Sonnett asks
Everyone began shouting over each other, pushing and pulling trying to see her. I tucked her into me to protect her from their prying eyes and Ashlyn was kind enough to get them to quiet down.
“YO, GUYS CHILL.” She yelled over them all
“Ooo, sorry kid. Our bad.” Kelley says sheepishly.
“Is there anything we can do to help?” Morgan says coming up to the bed.
“Yes actually, you all can help us keep an eye on our kid here during the day and make sure that she drinks plenty of water and rests regularly.” Christen says making me roll my eyes.
“Come on Chris, that’s a little much don’t you think?”
“Uh, actually no I don’t. You obviously can’t take care of yourself and you need to be protected.” She said sternly.
“Ugh, you’re all being ridiculous.”
“This is for your own good babe.” I say.
Y/N PRO:
After the “team meeting” in our room, the whole team did exactly as Christen said. They hovered incessantly and were constantly asking me if I was okay or need anything.
“How you feeling kiddo?” Carli asked, startling me after coming out of nowhere.
“Holy shit, dude don’t do that!”
She went to slap the back of my head but Becky was there to stop her.
“Carli! Don’t even think about it.”
“Oh, right I almost forgot.”
“Hey Y/N! wanna come play cards with me, Rose, Moe, Sonny, Lindsey and Sam?” Mal asked, also appearing out of nowhere.
“If it gets you all to stop scaring me like that, yes.”
Several hours later...
After at least 32 rounds of uno and speed each I decided I was going to call it a night, when I got back to my room, Alex was there watching netflix on her computer.
“Hey”
“Hi, How’re you doing?”
“I’m okay. I really just want to go to sleep.”
“I understand, sleep well.” She says, moving to turn out the light as I crawled into bed.
I tried for over an hour to fall asleep and just couldn’t. I kept tossing and turning, Alex checked on me a few times but each time I said I was fine and that she didn’t need to worry. Eventually I became so frustrated I finally decided to ask Alex if she would come over to my bed and cuddle with me.
“Alex?”
“Yeah baby?”
“Wil you- will you come cuddle with me?” I asked nervously.
“Of course lovely, just give me a second.”
After getting ready for bed herself she came over and laid down on the bed, pulling me into her, rubbing my back.
“Thank you.”
“You don’t have to thank me. It’s my job to take care of you, silly.”
“I know mama. I’ve felt much better with you and the others taking care of me these last few days.”
“You know, if you ever go riding without a helmet again the team won’t hesitate to take your board.”
“I know, and I’m sorry I wasn’t more careful, it won’t happen again.”
“Good. Now get some sleep kid, you need it.”
“Will you be here when I wake up?”
“Of course, I’m not going anywhere. I love you.”
“I love you too.” I said, and with that I finally drifted off into a deep peaceful sleep.
This team may be crazy over protective of me and it might irritate me now and then but I wouldn’t change a thing.
THE END
Hopefully this isn’t too bad, sorry for any mistakes this is mostly unedited.

US Thunder - Chapter 1
A/N: You can find the summary and other chapters here.
January 14, 2014 – Cary, North Carolina
                               Kelley O'Hara's point of view
Fear, the best word to describe my feelings right now, I was walking with the girls to go to the pub in the corner when we were stopped by three armed men. Ali froze while Ash tried to protect us, but this just served to make the guys angry. One of them shoved her on the ground and pointed a gun at Alex's head. She screamed. He slapped her face. I was getting ready to say something when a silhouette through the low lights made her presence known. I couldn't see her face, barely could hear her voice, I was terrified.
“Get out!” The leader yells.
“No.” I hear a voice lower and colder than I expected.
“I told you to leave 'em alone.”
“Or what? Mind your business bitch.” One of the men says looking to her.
“Tsk, you know? I don't really like people calling me bitch, especially if it's a man. I won't say it again, leave them alone or I will make you do it and, believe me, you won't like.”
“Are you crazy? I'm with the gun here. I have the power.”
“Oh, you definitely do not, darling.”
“Bitch, get out of my way before I...”
“Before what?” I see the silhouette getting closer, her fists clenched.
“Before I kill you.”
The guy points his gun to the person. A loud laugh erupts in the air, one step forward and a woman appears. Another guy looks at her. Ali helps Ash stand up.
“If you plan to shoot me I highly recommend you to do it now. Because if you do not kill me, I will kill you, do you understand that? Do you understand that I don't need guns to kick your asses, motherfucker? You do not scare me.”
I watch everything in slow motion. She pushes him. Alex puts us on the ground. The leader punches the woman. She gasps. The other man kicks her. She tackles two of them on the ground. The third guy attacks her back. A shot is heard. A painful scream follows the sound. Blood. Wide eyes. Shock. Someone falling. A gun on the ground. She stands up. Their lack of reaction is enough for her to knock the last two out. A deep and painful breath and a question.
“Are you okay?”
“I... I... I think so, because of you.” Ali struggles to say.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I... we were just going to drink some beers and they appeared. I think we're okay. I was so scared.” Alex cries.
“It's gonna be okay. You're safe now. One of you call 911. I gotta go.”
“Wait!” I shout when she's already walking.
“What?”
“You need to stay, you need to see a doctor and the police will make questions and...”
“I gotta go, sorry.”
Just like that she's gone through the alley's shadows and we are waiting for the police to arrive. I wish she had stayed, her eyebrow was bleeding, she was pressing her ribs, the pain was clear in her voice, and she needed to see a doctor.
Arriving at the hotel is when Alex, Ali, Ash, and I realize if it wasn't that woman we could be dead now, she saved our lives and we don't even know her name or if we will see her again. We explain what happened to the staff and then go to Carli and Hope's bedroom to team bonding. They're surprised to see us there so we have to tell them the last news and everybody now wants to know who the girl that helped us early is, after that we watch a movie and talk a bit while they try to distract the four of us. A few hours later, Carli was kicking us out because we have the first meeting of camp tomorrow morning after breakfast.
The next thing I know is the entire team is in the conference room, making their plates to start the meeting. Tom, our head coach, walks in with two girls. The first one is blonde and very tall; I think she's Sam, Kristie Mewis' sister. The other one is tall too, but something around 5"10. Her face was familiar, the strong jaw and naturally arched eyebrows remember me of the woman of last night, but I can't see if she has the same scar near her eye because of the distance. I look to Alex and, she's looking at me, probably wondering the same thing, is the same person?
“Hey!” Tom yells to get our attention. “Welcome to the first camp of the year. I hope we can enjoy these two weeks improving and growing as a team. Due to some injuries we suffered last month, you will see a couple of new faces around for a while, I'd like to introduce to you Samantha Mewis and Y/N Jackson, please welcome them and enjoy your breakfast before our schedule starts. Sam and Y/N, would you like to introduce yourselves to the team?”
“Hey, I'm Samantha, Kristie's sister, but please call me Sam. I play for the UCLA Bruins as a midfielder. It's an honor to meet you guys. I'm looking forward to learn a lot during these weeks.”
“Y/N.” The same cold voice of yesterday. “I'm a striker, to be honest, but, I usually play as a midfielder for the Blue Devils, I'm a junior at Duke majoring in computer science with a minor in cybersecurity. It's a pleasure to meet you.”
“Ok then everyone eating, and then we're going to see some videos and talk a bit.”
The duo goes straight to Julie, Crystal, and Lindsey's table; they're talking like they know each other for ages. After the meeting, Alex, Ali, Ash and I are trying to talk with Y/N, but the mini squad doesn't leave her alone, this is starting to upset me, I walk to the group with triple A following me and jump on the rookie's back, who gasps with pain.
“Kelley!”
“What?” I ask Alex, who said my name with an edged voice.
“You can't jump on the rookie's back. You could have hurt her.”
“Baby, are you okay?” Julie asks.
“Yes Jules, she just scared me.”
“Are you sure? Because it sounded like you were in pain.” Crystal insists.
“You're the person that saved our lives yesterday.” Ali says without thinking.
“What?” Julie questions.
“Yes, she was the woman that fought the guys, I remember.”
The rookie closes her eyes and takes a deep breath before looking at Julie, who seems to be pissed as fuck, killing her with her eyes. I jump off her back when Julie comes forward and lifts Jackson's hoodie, revealing bruises.
“You told me that the reason you are with a stitch at your eyebrow is that you walked through a glass door and didn't see it.”
“Babe, I can explain, I wasn't doing anything wrong, please.”
“You lied to me, the bar they went to is the same I followed you in, you were...”
“No, babe, look, yes I was at that bar, but I wasn't doing it, I swear, I only didn't tell you because I didn't want to worry you with something that can't change.”
“Guys, it's better if you two go talk in another place.” Sam interrupts.
“I agree with Sammy, but you seven are coming with us to my room. And you better have a good excuse to give Torres.” Julie says dragging the rookie with her to the elevator.

One More (Julie Ertz x G!P Reader)
Tumblr media
Tiny footsteps padded around on the hardwood floors. Your wife had been apprehensive about getting the carpet in your new house replaced with hardwood floors. She hadn’t wanted your little bundle of joy and chaos to accidentally hurt herself. Kennedy had been just starting to walk at the time and you swore that the next day she was running around, so you understood Julie’s fear. However, now that Kennedy was about to start preschool, Julie had agreed that the hardwood floors were easier to keep clean and looked a lot nicer.
“Mama!” Kennedy yelled and literally seconds later, you heard a loud smack. You turned around in your chair and saw your daughter staring at you. Another couple of seconds and you heard Julie’s footsteps following Kennedy’s.
“What did I say about slamming on the walls?” Julie asked and Kennedy looked up at her innocently.
“Mama does it all the time and you told me to get her attentions,” Kennedy explained and Julie sighed. “I’m real sorry Mommy.”
“Go clean up for dinner and try not to do it again,” Julie said and Kennedy ran off. Once your daughter was gone, Julie shut the door. “We need to talk.”
“Look, it’s not that I’m hitting my hand on the wall on purpose, it’s just a habit,” you said, trying to defend yourself early.
“I want to try for another baby,” Julie said and you looked up at her. “Olympic season is over and there’s enough room between now and the next World Cup to improve on my skill.”
“When do you want to start?” you asked and Julie looked down at her hands.
“I’d really like to start now,” Julie said and you nodded. You leaned in to kiss her and she put her hand on your chest. “Tonight, dinner is on the table.”
“Well, why didn’t you lead with that?” you asked, scooping Julie up and carrying her to the dining room. “Kennedy, what would you think about having a brother or a sister?”
“Henry said that being a big sibling is a big responserbillery,” Kennedy said and you smiled at her. “But I think I can do it. Especially if Henry can do it.”
“A little mean, but we’ll work on saying nice things,” Julie said and you nodded. After dinner, you put Kennedy to bed while Julie prepared things in the bedroom. You were excited about trying again and possibly having a baby with Julie again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Are you almost finished painting the room?” Julie asked from down the hallway. You had finished painting the nursery almost three weeks ago, but her memory had been shit during the pregnancy. You were almost finished with the room, but you had to get the dresser put together and find a more neutral lampshade. Julie had been adamant about that after reading article from a mommy blogger.
“I’ve been done painting, why?” you asked, poking your head out into the hallway.
“My water broke,” Julie said and you scrambled out of the room. You rushed her to the hospital, glad that Kennedy had opted to spend the day with Morgan and Alyssa. Once you were at the hospital, you called them and everybody else who needed to be called. You stayed with Julie the entire time and couldn’t begin to fathom ever leaving her side, even as you approached the 13th hour of labor. “Fuck this, why did I want more?”
“Kennedy was starting school,” you said and Julie pouted because you were right. In less than a month, Kennedy would be graduating from preschool and going to kindergarten. The doctor came back in to check on Julie and told her that it was time to push again.
“We did it, it’s over,” Julie said as the doctors took the baby. You cut the cord and Julie made a noise that startled you.
“There’s another,” a nurse said and the doctor was right back to work. Julie took another 10 minutes to get the twin out, but you were immediately in love with both of them. The babies were cleaned up and then brought over to you and Julie.
“Kennedy isn’t gonna like this one bit,” you said with a chuckle. “We agreed on one baby.”
“Well, she’s got brothers now,” Julie said with a tired smile. “Brothers who need names.”
“I guess Sara isn’t gonna work,” you said and Julie chuckled. You and Julie discussed names for a good amount of time before you picked them out. You brought Kennedy in to meet her brothers before you let anybody else in. “Remember, quiet.”
“I know,” Kennedy stage whispered. “Hi, I’m Kennedy.”
“Kennedy, meet Joey and Jason,” you said and Kennedy waved at the babies.
“I thought there was only supposed to be one baby. I wanted a sister,” Kennedy said and you frowned.
“Hey, sometimes things happen,” you said and Kennedy nodded.
“It’s okay, they’ll have each other if I’m not there,” Kennedy said and you thought that was very mature of her. You took Kennedy out of the room, let the nurses take the babies to get some rest, and then started to get ready to go home.
Rendezvous On The Tennis Court (Julie Johnston x reader)
Tumblr media
A/N: I got inspiration for this fic from an interview Sue Bird did. She told the interviewer that she met up with Megan in Tokyo but it had to be outdoors and social distanced.
Part 2
Being in Tokyo with Team USA was a dream come true. It was your second time representing your country at the olympics, the first being in Rio.
Even with the COVID protocols you still were having a great time, the only downside is that you couldn’t see your girlfriend and you couldn’t tell your teammates because you both had decided to keep your relationship a secret.
You didn’t have the opportunity to run into her in the olympic village because she and the rest of the team stayed at the hotel closest to the stadium they were playing at.
Tonight would be the first night you would be seeing her since you both left the states over 3 weeks ago.
You watched as your teammate Sue left the hotel and you left 5 minutes after trying to make sure you didn’t get caught.
You wondered around the olympic village looking at every map as you walked past it. You felt like you were going in circles until you saw them in front of you, the tennis courts and more importantly you see her.
As you enter the court she begins joggings to towards you but you hold put you hand out even though you would love nothing more than to hold her in your arms.
“We have to follow the rules” You tell her and she looks at you like a kid who got told no more cookies.
“Come on baby, you know what that look does to me” She changes her expression “That’s better”
“I miss you so much Y/N” She tells you
“I miss you too Jules” you respond.
She hated it when people called her that but you were the exception.
You both stand there taking in the sight before you. You knew that it would be hard to be away from her but not this hard.
“How is your knee doing?” You ask, you were so proud at how she handled her recovery but you still wanted her to take it easy.
“It’s ok” You see right through the lie.
“Oh really? Is that why you were limping when you ran towards me?” You say.
“You know me so well” You hum in agreement “It hurts but only after games” You raise your eyebrows “Ok so sometimes during games but I can’t not play” she says as if begging you not to say anything.
“Well you couldn’t tell against New Zealand miss woman of the match. Sue was so confused when I started shouting at the TV” you laugh remembering the moment well.
“Thank you. Pinoe was just as confused when I asked to watch the basketball with her”
“So I have a present for you?” You tell your girlfriend “I know that you loved my storm jersey” She nods in agreement “and that you didn’t bring it but I thought that you might like this one”
You reach into your hoodie revealing your team USA jersey giving it to the blonde.
She smells it and smiles which makes your laugh.
“Weirdo”
“What, it smells just like you. I did steal one of your hoodies but then it got washed. This can be it’s replacement” she tells you as she begins to laugh.
“What is so funny?” Her random giggles confuse you.
“I brought you one of my jerseys too. It doesn’t smell like me but it does have my name on it” she says taking her jersey out of her jacket like you did.
You take the jersey, smiling at the Johnston on the back, but just a quick as the smile came it went again.
“You know that I can’t wear this, not here” You tell her.
Julie’s eyes begin to well up at your comment which made you feel terrible but you were only being realistic.
“Why not, is it because it has my name on?” She asks you and you shake your head straight away.
“This shirt, is not available to buy. Which means if get pictured in it or even seen in it my teammates then they will have questions and I can’t lie to them, not directly” You explain.
Keeping your relationship a secret from the people closest to you was getting more and more difficult everyday.
“I don’t know how much longer I can keep us a secret” you confess.
Truth is you wanted to scream it from the rooftops but Julie wanted to wait which you understood. Once the world knew, your relationship wouldn’t just be between the two of you.
“I’m just not ready for the world to know” She says.
You don’t hide the hurt you are feeling and Julie can sense it.
“How about this? We don’t tell everyone but we don’t not tell everyone?” She suggests.
You look at her confused. Either you tell people or you don’t.
“What does that mean?”
“It means we wear the jerseys and if people ask then we tell them. I know you see your teammates as family and I should never have asked you to lie to them but you did, for me”
You move towards her but this time it is her who tells you off.
“We have to follow the rules” she says mimicking the tone you used earlier.
“Well rules are stupid” You pout.
You both sit there talking about the tournament, what you had been watching on Netflix and what food you had been eating.
The chatter is small but you appreciate every word as you know after tonight you probably wouldn’t see her till the closing ceremony or till you were both back in America.
“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” You hear someone say and you recognise the voice straight away.
Looking around you see a social distanced Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe walking towards you.
“Hi Meg” you say “Fancy seeing you here”
“Is there something you want to tell us?” Sue says looking at you then to Julie and then back to you.
You hesitate, not sure what to say. Julie said if someone asked but was Sue actually asking?
Instead of saying anything, you look at Julie mentally asking for permission and she slowly nods her head.
You stand up
“I have a girlfriend!” You shout a little louder than expected and you quickly look around making sure no one else heard you.
“Don’t worry babe, it’s late most people are asleep” she tells you.
“Not anymore” Megan laughs.
Both of them begin asking questions about your’s and Julie’s relationship which you are happy to answer considering you have had to keep everything to yourself for so long.
Before you know it, it is time to go back to the room. You look at Julie and you feel the familiar ache in your chest, it was time to say goodbye and you really didn’t want to.
“Don’t look at me like that” she says causing you to pout.
“I don’t want to go” you tell her.
“We lasted this long without seeing each other, the next week will fly by”
“Promise?” You ask and she nods holding out her little finger and you make a air pinky promise.
Sue and Megan say goodbye too.
“Come on little Romeo, it is way past curfew and we have practice in the morning” Sue puts her arm around your shoulders as you walk back to the hotel.
You went to bed that night with a huge smile on your face, Julie was finally ready to tell people about your relationship. It might not complete openness but it was the first step.
Locker Room Heat (Alpha!Julie x Omega!Reader)
Tumblr media
Request: alpha!julie x reader with the reader starting her heat in the locker room during a game?
You were playing with fire. You knew that. Vlatko had asked if you were sure if staring in an unimportant game this close to your heat was really a good idea. It was a welcome change from Jill, who hadn’t given a flying fuck and basically fed you to the German team (something Julie had not been happy about).
Though the Australian team was made of mostly alphas, they were incredibly respectful. Cracking bad dad jokes that set you at ease despite your pretty-heat symptoms. Still, the physical exertion of the first half, this close to your heat was a dangerous game. One that you had lost today.
You slumped onto the bench, gripping it tightly to try and ground yourself, the scents of your teammates becoming slightly overwhelming as the flush overtook you, an indescribable ache settling in your lower belly. There was no way you were going to make it through the second half.
****
Julie smelt you before she saw you, like the sweetest cinnamon roll just coming out of the oven. She raced down the hallway, skidding into the locker room. Her heart clenched as she took in your shaking form, clutching the wooden bench so tight your fingers were turning white.
She fell to her knees in front of you, both hands landing heavily in your thighs. You shivered at the contact. It both cooled and stoked the fire inside you (the omega part of your brain wanted to throw your head back with the lutist moan you could muster when your Mate’s fingers sloped just underneath the bottom hem of your shorts.
“Alpha?” You groaned, opening your eyes just enough to make eye contact with Julie’s worried blue ones, pushing out your scent to tell her exactly what you wanted. What you needed.
“I know baby, it’ll be alright,” She said back calmly, swallowing down her instincts to claim you immediately with great difficulty considering the way your very visible scent gland was calling to her. You were incredibly shy and wouldn’t appreciate being taken in front of the entire team…still she sent a puff of her dominant scent back, helping it would tide you over until she could get you to a more appropriate venue, and scratching her nails over your overheated skin.
It did little to soothe you or your inner omega. You pushed your chin out further, tilting your head as far as it would go, the ache in your lower stomach intensifying. It was so hard to have your mate so close, but not inside you.“Need-,” you whined, unsure of exactly what you were begging for.
“I know little one, you’ll have my knot soon. I promise,” Julie said softly, running a finger over the mating mark on your neck, up to your scent gland before landing on your cheek. You leaned into the touch, your instincts placated by the claim.
“Jesus, who went into heat? It’s like a fucking chocolate shop in here,” Emily’s boisterous voice broke you and your mate out of your little bubble. You looked up just in time to see Lindsey pull Sonnett to her with a “Not the time babe,” preventing the omega from crossing the perimeter your team had created around you. A barrier that was doing a damn good job keeping Julie’s attention on comforting you and not on protecting you from the other alphas on the team.
Julie’s eyes never left you. As long as they didn’t break the perimeter, they weren’t a threat. “Get Vlatko. We’re not going to make the second half,” She growled, deciding that you weren’t close enough to her and scooping you into her arms. You buried your face In her neck, placing light kitten licks on her swelling scent gland.
“Already done Jules,” Christal nodded. The beta stepping to the side to give Julie a clear path out of the room. She didn’t want her best friend to feel trapped.
“He just said to take care of her, and he’ll take care of the rest,” Alex added, watching you carefully. She knew you were in good hands, but your Alpha sister was still incredibly protective over you. Those instincts were difficult to shake.
Julie’s eyes connected with hers sending her a grateful nod. She would take care of you, protect you, just as she had promised the older alpha, and she was grateful your coach understood that. You tensed in her arms, the swirling pheromones in the room stoking the fire burning its way through you.
JJ felt your temperature spike as she stood. “Come on, we need to get you out of these clothes,” she said gruffly, kissing your forehead. At least the showers offered some form of privacy for her to ebb your growing need, and perhaps some cold water would make the ride back to the hotel easier.
The team shuffled away from the path Chrystal created, as Julie whisked you away. The team waited for the locker door to close before they moved again. Alphas were territorial creatures and they didn’t want to risk offending their most possessive teammate.
“So everyone agrees that we’re showering at the hotel tonight? Don’t wanna start any second-hand heats,” Megan said, jumping into action. Despite the excitement, they still had tactics to cover and a game to win.
“Or have angry JJ after you for getting any lingering scent on you,” Kelley snorted, ignoring her own alphas glare. The team giggled, remembering when you had accidentally worn Lindsey’s sweater instead of your mates. She was possessive and protective, but she was perfect for you and the team respected that.
