the soft glow of candles flickered on the tables, their gentle light reflecting off the windows as the snow softly fell outside. inside, busy restaurant hummed with the quiet murmur of conversation and the rich scent of fresh flowers scattered around the restaurant. you sat nervously at a small corner table, fidgeting with your fingers. your heart raced in anticipation. it was the first valentine’s day with juju, and you needed everything to be perfect. the door chimed as it opened, and in walked juju, her cheeks rosy from the cold, her presence lighting up the room.

"its just a little something that i’ve been wanting to get for you, and i didn’t wanna wait until your birthday.” you said softly, smiling at her.

juju’s smile grew wider, and she reached across the table to take your hand. "i love it, ma." she said, her voice full of emotion. "i may or may not have gotten something for you too." you laughed, opening up the ring she got you.

after the gift exchange, you shared a moment of silence, just enjoying each other's company, before juju spoke again. "i really don’t know what I did to deserve someone like you, honestly. you have become my favorite person in such a short amount of time and it honestly scared the shit out of me at first, but i wouldn’t change it for the world.” she rambled, her cheeks flushing red. you squeezed her hand, and your eyes started to water. "judea. you’re everything I’ve ever wanted. and I’m so glad we get to share this day together, and i’m so thankful for you."

the evening continued on with laughter and quiet conversation, exchanging more little gifts, that you agreed not to get each other, and stealing kisses under the soft light. once juju paid for dinner, they stood outside the restaurant, the cold air swirling around them, and juju pulled you closer to keep you and her warm.

"happy valentine’s day, my love," juju whispered, her lips brushing against yours. you pulled away smiling, looking up at her. "happy valentine’s day, juju."
