20 Years Deep If you’re born between the years of 95-2000, this 32min mixtape is for you. Album starts off with an intro to his fans. Much respect for him recognizing where is success lies, in the hands of his fans as well as him recognizing that his talent is from God. Much respect. But if I could start this album from track 5 it’d be a good album for an upcoming artist. Because let me be honest, anything prior to Track 5 just didn’t “hit” for me like the other tracks. The mood for Comfort Zone & Dare To Be Different, was a bit too slow to be album openers, as a new artist I think it’s vital to start with a bit more momentum to grasp your audience right from the start. However, the overall sounds of these tracks were different enough to keep one engaged but lyrically it wasn’t very stimulating. Things pick up on Sign, with a quick feature by another NC artist, Juhovah, his addition to the track gave this song the momentum it needed. And that’s all I have to say about that. The album takes a turn for the better at Way More, think its safe to say that this track has been warmly accepted by his fans based off the interaction on social media with this track. The momentum of the album continues through Thirst Trap one of my personal favs off this mixtape. It’s so appropriately relatable to this generation. Slight detour happens when the albums goes into more dialogue on the next track, this was the second dialogue on the album. We have Drake to thank for this, I guess after Drake featured personal recordings of family members, everyone figured it was a necessity for a mixtape/album, it’s not. After the detour you get to Q’s Interlude, a nice slow song that features his natural ability to hold a note. Thank you for the short R&B ballad, Tedo. It’s a definite that the further you get into the album the better it gets. Luv Without Luvin features a sample for Trey Songz and the sample fits this song perfectly. Flesh, is an overall sexy ass song that has a feel similar to that of, Young Money’s artist, Jacquees. These two songs probably speaks to the generation, it’s all about the act of loving without being in love. Who can’t relate to that? Mixtape ends with 100% ft Jahvi, and if you listen to music for the instrumentals then you’ll probably appreciate this track. Vocally I can appreciate what he offers, sounds like we definitely have an artist with a significant amount of natural singing talent. Tedo is a young artist with apparent ability and maybe the shortcomings in this album will only propel him in the future. Definitely looking forward to his development as a young artist, I think he’ll rep NC very well.
