Okay so like I said in my initial drabble

When Sweet Pea first sees you he deadass thinks you’re an angel

You are so sweet and soft and perfect

The only way to describe you is angelic

He’s so wrapped up in how alluring and enamoring you are that he doesn’t notice you’re just as drawn to him

You immediately see past his gorgeous and intimidating exterior to the soft great big heart inside him

You see all his good traits and you’re not scared off that he’s a little rough around the edges

But Sweet Pea sees that you’re not rough around the edges

And he doesn’t want you to become that way

Especially not because of him

He feels so protective over you from day one

Even though he’s fighting his obvious feelings for you and ignoring your obvious feelings for him, he still tries to look out for you

Keeps an eye on you a little, just to make sure no one’s giving you any trouble

You’re friends with Betty so you’re sort of tied to the serpents already, but he doesn’t want to drag you any deeper into gang life than you already are

So he tries not to fall any harder for you than he already has

Even though Jughead is always bringing you up, telling him that Betty says you’ve been asking after him

He can’t even process that Jughead just said you’ve been asking after him and about him a lot because of how Jughead keeps describing you

He says you’re sort of clingy and need a lot of attention, that you get nervous in crowds and you’re really touchy and hate being alone 

That’s why your last boyfriend broke up with you

But the more Jughead talks about you and your apparent flaws, the more perfect you sound to Sweet Pea

You’re exactly what he’s been dreaming of

Someone he can go all in with, someone who wants him and needs him as much as he wants you and needs you

Which is obviously a lot

After a fight, Jughead is MIA. You find out he’s been hanging at the White Wyrm and you go to confront him. A heated argument leads to unexpected confessions.

The Whyte Wyrm was the last place you ever expected to find yourself. The dive bar, filled with smoke, thumping music, and the Serpents who called it home, felt like the antithesis of everything you were. But tonight, you had no choice. Jughead was MIA, and after the fight you’d had, you needed to find him—needed to make things right, even if it meant braving the lion’s den.

You pulled your jacket tighter around you as you pushed through the door, feeling the weight of every set of eyes that landed on you. You stuck out like a sore thumb in your soft sweater and sneakers, the good girl walking into the Serpents’ den. But you didn’t care about any of that. All you cared about was finding Jughead. He hadn’t answered your calls, hadn’t responded to your texts, and the empty feeling in your chest only grew when Toni told you he’d been hanging out at the Whyte Wyrm for days, avoiding everyone—including you.

You scanned the room, your eyes darting through the crowd, but there was no sign of Jughead’s familiar beanie or brooding presence. Instead, a tall, muscular Serpent caught sight of you, a predatory smirk spreading across his face as he swaggered over, blocking your view.

“Hey there, sweetheart,” he drawled, his eyes roving over you with an unnerving hunger. “You look a little lost. What’s a pretty girl like you doing in a place like this?”

You took a step back, trying to stay calm, though your heart was racing. “I’m not here for trouble. I’m just looking for someone.”

He leaned in closer, the scent of alcohol clinging to his breath as he sneered. “Well, you found me. How about I keep you company instead?”

You tried to sidestep him, but he moved with you, his presence imposing and uncomfortably close. “I’m looking for Jughead,” you said firmly, hoping the name would deter him. “Do you know where he is?”

The Serpent chuckled, a dark, mocking sound that made your skin crawl. “Oh, Jones? He’s not worth your time, princess. But I might be.”

He reached out, his fingers brushing your arm in a way that made you flinch, and panic flared in your chest. You opened your mouth to tell him to back off, but suddenly, Jughead’s voice cut through the noise, sharp and laced with fury.

“Get your hands off her.”

You turned to see Jughead standing there, his jaw clenched and eyes burning with a protective anger that sent the Serpent scrambling back a step. Jughead’s leather jacket hung off his shoulders, the Serpent emblem glaring in the low light, and his fists were clenched, ready for a fight.

The Serpent sneered but backed off, holding up his hands. “Relax, Jones. Didn’t know she was yours.”

“She’s not,” Jughead snapped, but his eyes flicked to you, and the tension in his eyes made you feel as though he hated saying those words. The Serpent slunk away, muttering under his breath, and Jughead turned his attention back to you, his gaze still simmering with anger.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Jughead demanded, his voice harsher than you’d ever heard it. “This isn’t your place.”

You swallowed, meeting his stare head-on. “I could ask you the same thing. You disappeared, Jug! You haven’t answered my calls or texts, and after our fight, I didn’t know if—”

“If what?” Jughead cut in, his tone sharp, though there was a crack in his voice. “If I was okay? Why do you always do this, huh? Running into danger like it’s nothing, just to find me?”

His words stung, but you couldn’t hold back. “Because I care about you! I was worried, Jug. You just left, and I didn’t know if you were hurt or—”

“That’s exactly the problem!” he snapped, his voice rising. “You care too much, and you always put yourself in the middle of my messes. I’m in the Serpents now—I’m dealing with stuff you shouldn’t be part of, and I can’t keep watching you throw yourself into danger for me.”

“What about you? That’s real hypocritical coming from you.” You scoffed, motioning to your environment.

“I’m the serpent, not you. I don’t have a choice in this life! My father is FP Jones. The Serpents are in my blood. Don’t choose this because of me. I won’t let you put yourself in danger!” He grabbed a hold of your wrist, as if doing so would force reason into you.

You took a step closer, your frustration boiling over. “So what? You just shut me out? Push me away because you’re too scared of what might happen?”

Jughead’s face twisted with pain, his eyes searching yours as if trying to find the right words. “I’m scared because I don’t want you to be part of this. The Serpents, the fights—it’s not your world. I don’t want you dragged down into it because of me.”

You felt your heart ache at his admission, the walls Jughead always kept up cracking right in front of you. “I don’t care about any of that,” you said, your voice softer now, pleading. “I care about you, Jug. I’m here because I don’t want to lose you.”

Jughead looked at you, his expression a mix of anger, regret, and something deeper—something raw and vulnerable that he rarely let anyone see. “No. Don’t. Don’t say that. Don’t make this harder than it already is. I’m doing this for you. You may not see it now, but you’re meant for more than this. Don’t let me drag you down.” Tears welled in his beautiful blue eyes. Your heart cracked at the sight. You sighed, cupping his cheek in your palm.

“Juggy, you are not a heavy weight to bare. You can’t get rid of me that easily. You will not drag me down.” You caressed his cheek with your thumb and he leaned into your touch, shutting his eyes. “I want to be here. I want to be apart of your life, no matter what that involves.”

“I thought pushing you away would keep you safe,” he confessed, his voice breaking slightly. “But it’s killing me. It’s only been a few days and it’s eating me alive. I can’t keep pretending like you don’t mean everything to me.”

Your breath caught, and you felt the sting of tears in your eyes. Jughead’s confession hung in the air, heavy and real, and you stepped closer. “Then don’t push me away,” you whispered. “I’m not afraid of your world, Jug. I’m afraid of losing you.”

Jughead’s resolve shattered, and he pulled you into him, his lips crashing into yours in a kiss that was both desperate and full of longing. The kiss was an admission, all the words he couldn’t say poured into the way his hands cupped your face, his lips moving against yours with an intensity that made everything else fade away.

You kissed him back just as fiercely, your fingers tangling in his hair, pulling him closer as if you could erase every fight, every fear, with the touch of your lips. Jughead’s hands slid around your waist, holding you tight, anchoring you in the moment.

When you finally broke apart, your foreheads pressed together, Jughead’s thumb brushed your cheek, wiping away a stray tear. His eyes were soft, filled with the vulnerability he’d been hiding for so long. “I’m sorry,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. “I’m sorry I tried to push you away. I just… I love you too much to see you hurt because of me.”

You smiled through the tears, resting your hand over his heart, feeling the steady beat beneath your palm. “You’re not dragging me down, Jug. We’ll face this together. Whatever comes, I’m not going anywhere.”

Jughead pulled you into his arms, holding you as if letting go would break him. In the noisy, chaotic heart of the Serpents’ lair, surrounded by the life Jughead had tried to keep you from, you knew that no matter what dangers lay ahead, you’d face them together.

It was a cool autumn evening in Riverdale, the kind where the leaves crunched beneath your feet and the air was cold and crisp. The sun had dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and deep purple. At Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe, the usual buzz was replaced by an air of anticipation as Jughead prepared to introduce his boyfriend, Y/N, to his friends from the south side.

Jughead had always been protective of the people he cared about, and introducing Y/N to the serpents was a big step. They had been dating for a few months, and although Y/N had been living in Riverdale for months now and was settling in with ease  He was still nervous about meeting Jughead’s friends. Jughead was determined to ease Y/N’s nerves.

“Are you ready?” Jughead asked, glancing sideways at Y/N. They were sipping on milkshakes, the sweet vanilla flavour doing little to mask Y/N anxiety.

“I guess so,” Y/N replied, His voice wavering slightly. “What if they don’t like me?”

Jughead reached across the table, taking hold of Y/N’s hand. “Trust me. They will, besides, you’re Great.”

Y/N couldn’t help but smile at Jughead’s encouragement. After a moment of quiet, He  nodded. “Okay, I’m ready.”

The bell above the door jingled as the serpents entered the diner making their way over to Jughead's table and sitting down joining them with ease “Hey guys, I want you all to meet Y/N.”Jughead said 

The Trio  turned their heads, and a moment of silence fell as they took in Jughead’s significant other. Y/N felt a little on edge  under the weight of scrutiny, but Jughead squeezed his hand reassuringly.

“Y/N, this is Toni,” Jughead gestured to a pretty girl with dark brown hair with a stand-out light pink highlight  “and this is Sweet Pea,” he continued, pointing to a tall guy with a double-headed serpent tattooed on the left side of his neck. “ and finally Fangs” he said  gesturing to guy with a laid-back demeanour.

“Hey!” Y/N nodded, trying to mask his nerves with a small smile.

Toni grinned, her eyes sparkling with mischief.“Nice to meet you, Y/N. Jughead’s told us a lot about you. We’ve been looking forward to this.”

“Yeah, man,” Sweet Pea chimed in, crossing his arms over his chest. “If Jughead’s into you, you must be pretty cool”

“Exactly,” Fangs added with a grin, his laid-back demeanour putting Y/N a bit more at ease. “You must have some serious charm to get him to open up.”

Sweet Pea leaned back in his chair, arms crossed with a friendly smirk. “ and you're hot”

Y/N snorted a laugh at the unexpected compliments. “Thanks, I guess,” his voice steadier now. “I’m just trying to keep up with Jug”

Jughead chuckled, a hint of pride in his eyes. “You’re doing great.”

The conversation flowed more easily as they settled into a rhythm. Toni asked Y/N about his interests, and he found himself sharing stories about his life before he moved to riverdale. Sweet Pea and Fangs chimed in with their own anecdotes, and soon the initial tension began to dissipate.

Fangs grinned “ Jughead finally found someone who can put up with his brooding” 

Y/N laughed, the sound brightening the tension in the air. “I wouldn’t call it brooding. More like intense contemplation, right?” He shot Jughead a playful wink, and he couldn’t help but roll his eyes, a smile creeping onto his face.

“Yeah, let’s go with that,” he said, relieved to see Y/N relaxing. The Serpents were accepting Y/N will ease, He was fitting in well. 

At one point, Sweet Pea leaned across the table. “So, what’s it like dating our brooding leader over here?”

Y/N smirked. “It's a lot of intense contemplation followed by snack marathons. Pretty solid gig if you ask me.”

The table erupted in laughter, and Jughead felt the warmth of acceptance wash over him. 

As the night wore on, Jughead and Y/N went over to the counter to order another 

round of milkshakes “See? They liked you,” Jughead said, grinning. “I told you they would.”

Y/N chuckled softly, still feeling the adrenaline of meeting Jughead's gang friends . “I wasn’t sure how they would react..”

“They seem protective of you,” Y/N noted, glancing back at the group laughing and engaged in conversation. “Like they’d do anything for you.”

“Yeah, they would. And so would I,” Jughead replied, his expression suddenly serious. He leaned closer to Y/N. “You mean a lot to me. I want you to know that.”

Y/N leaned in, their lips brushing against Jughead's in a brief yet tender kiss. It was soft and sweet, a promise of something more, something real. As he pulled away, Y/N smiled, his initial nerves completely fading away.

It was dark on the cold december night. I was hanging out at Sweet Pea’s place when the snow started coming down hard. Neither of us noticed, until we started getting cold. I felt the shivers and looked over at Pea, who was also slightly shivering. 

“It’s cold in here.” I mentioned and Sweets nodded. He got up and checked the head, which was on. He looked out the window and his eyes widened. 

“Uh, I guess it started snowing.” Sweets said and I got up to look. 

“Oh my God…” I said as I looked at the snow quickly piling up. I heard my phone ring and quickly went to answer it. 

“Hello?” I answered. 

“Y/N? Where are you?” My brother, Jughead asked. 

“I’m at Pea’s place.” I answered. 

“Dad! She’s with Sweet Pea!” I heard him call out. 

“Darlin’? You’re still at Sweet Pea’s place?” Dad asked and I nodded, before realizing he can’t see me. 

“Yeah.” I answered. 

“Stay there tonight, there’s a bad storm outside and it looks like we’re gettin’ snowed in.” He said. 

“Yeah, Sweets and I didn’t realize it even started snowing until we both felt how cold it was getting.” I said and looked over at Sweets. 

“You both are gonna be able to stay warm, right?” He asked. 

“Yeah, I think so.” I answered. 

“Good, alright, try and keep your phone charged. We might lose power.” He said. 

“Okay, Daddy.” I said with a nod. We hung up and I turned to Sweet Pea. 

“Guess we’re stuck here until the storm is over and people can start digging us out.” I said and he nodded. 

“Fine by me.” He said with a small smirk. I rolled my eyes and started to rub my arms. 

“Dad said he thinks we might lose power.” I said and Sweets groaned. 

“We’re gonna freeze to death.” He said and I giggled. 

“I might freeze first, so you can eat my body if you need to.” I joked. Sweets chuckled then noticed me shivering harder and rubbing my arms. He walked off and returned with a warm looking sweater. He tossed it to me and I happily put it on. 

“That looks better on you then it does me.” He said with a wink and I blushed slightly. Sweets and I returned to the couch and started watching another movie. 

Maybe half way through the power cut out. Pea groaned and I sighed. It almost instantly got colder. I checked my phone and saw Jughead had texted me. He was making sure my phone was charged and we were okay. I texted him back and told him that my phone was charged and that Pea and I would be fine. I started shivering again and Sweets looked over at me. 

“Sweets?” I asked. 

“Yeah?” He asked.

“C-Can we move t-to your bed?” I asked. He nodded and we both quickly went to his room. I rushed to his bed and wrapped the blanket around my body and felt a little warmer. Sweets left the room and came back a few moments later with extra blankets. I smiled and moved over to make room for Sweets. He got under the blankets with me and wrapped the extra ones around us. Sweets laid down and pulled me to lay on his chest. I smiled as I felt the warmth of his body. 

“Imagine Jugs face if he saw us frozen like this.” I joked and Sweets laughed. 

“He’d find a way to bring me back just to kill me again.” He said and I giggled. My brother was alway protective of me when it came to guys. When he found out me and Sweet Pea were dating, Dad had to stop him from killing my now boyfriend. Dad wasn’t exactly happy about me dating Pea either, but he could tell how happy I was with him. That’s the only reason he was a bit more lenient with us. 

I could feel myself growing tired, but I didn’t really think I should sleep while being this cold. My eyelids were growing heavier and heavier, I could hardly fight it. 

“Get some sleep, babe, it’s pretty much the only thing we can do right now anyway.” He said and I sighed. 

“I don’t wanna freeze to death.” I mumbled. Pea chuckled and pulled me closer. 

“I’m not gonna let you freeze babe, I’ll keep you warm all night.” He said and my eyes finally closed. I mumbled something in my sleepy state as I finally lost the fight.

jughead "i don't want to be like my dad" jones first becoming leader of the same gang that his father was and then having a drinking problem later in life (the same thing that led to jughead being homeless in season one). veronica "i'm not my father" lodge being a power-hungry businesswoman who's not afraid to bend the law and who, despite being openly hostile with her father most of the time, will immediately jump into action to protect the family "business" when he gets shot because of the importance of family, the same thing her father claims to be the driving force behind much of his shady decisions. betty "i will never be like my father" cooper being obsessed with bringing people to justice when her dad's justification for being a serial killer was to punish sinners, as well as acting as "girl reporter" when her parents run the town's only newspaper.

does fp deserve rights?

This is such a hard question. It really is. Overall I come down on the side of If you did a bad thing, you did a bad thing. Meaning, your dad beating you up as you grew up doesn't excuse you doing it to your kids. It's up to you to fix yourself.

Objectively, FP was a shit dad, a bad husband, a poor leader, a non-contributing member of any community he might be a part of, and kind of all round failure. What he did to Jughead I find unforgivable - FP failed so badly at making an adult of himself, which means taking the responsibility to heal himself from his childhood hurts, that his son parented him actively from the time the kid was 16 years old at the latest. FP was the king of bad decisions all the way around.

The thing is - THE THING IS - FP really did try. And that's where I'm torn, because he tried. Whenever FP had a second to take a breath and saw that The Cycle was gearing up to repeat itself, he freaked the fuck out and he tried to stop it. The other key thing is that gives me FP feelings is that FP unabashedly, wholeheartedly wanted good things for his kid, and never made an active or passive aggressive move against Jughead's future. This makes him very unusual in Parentdale. FP also valued the things in his son that he never got to express - he liked and publicly expressed admiration for the fact that Jughead was sensitive, creative, and romantic. FP didn't feel very good about himself, but he never did violence to the parts of himself reflected back at him through his son.

Jughead needed support as a young adult because his childhood depleted him of so much energy by the time he got there, and his dad's reaction was to go, OK I've launched you out of the cycle me and my dad repeated, so we're done, bye bye. I'm very annoyed by this. And yet, I wonder, if this was also part of FP being terrified of tainting the life path of his son with his presence. After all, Jughead got higher education and had a pretty successful launch to a career in the arts. Jughead (and I) see FP's removal of himself as abandonment, but possibly, what FP was doing was maybe trying to protect Jughead from himself.

Oh hell. I guess the answer is Yes, then.

okay look obviously I don't want to watch riverdale. I couldn't get past the first like two seasons or something when it first came out. but I'm gonna be so for real with yall, I cannot stop thinking about Sweet Pea. This shit hit me out of nowhere. I stumbled across this scene and that was it. He's a 6'3 gangster who's more than ready to commit AND self described needy????? I stood no chance. This isn't my fault. I especially can't stop thinking about both height difference and contrastic aesthetics ships, and if you're dating Sweet Pea, there's a 90% chance he's taller than you.

no bc you're probably friends with Betty and you've been this soft sweet lil angel for your whole life, but the second you see big buff intimidating Sweet Pea, it's game over. you've been making goo goo eyes at him ever since, and you keep asking Betty to get info about him from Jughead. Betty's never ever seen you this down bad for someone, she's never seen you want someone so bad. You've known each other for so long and you've helped her through all the craziness that's happened since Cheryl's brother died, so she feels like she owes this to you. Sweet Pea fell the moment he saw you. You look like an angel, and you sound like an angel, and you probably are an angel if you ask him. He's been doing everything he can to avoid you, because he knows that bad shit will only happen if you get tangled up with him, but that can't stop him from thinking about you all the time, from wishing more than anything that he could be with you. He's convinced himself it would be selfish to pursue you, that you deserve someone better than him. He finally, finally folds when you show up at his place late at night. He'd been about to go to sleep when someone was banging on his door. He finally answered and found you there, standing in the pouring rain. You're shivering, not dressed at all for the weather as you ramble about how your car broke down and you didn't know who else to ask for help. He's so close to folding, he's so close. You're right here, you're asking him to swoop in and rescue you, but what really pushes him over the edge is the way you look at him. You stare up at him, batting your pretty eyes that sparkle in the low light as you shiver. You look at him like he's Hercules, like he can protect you and keep you safe, like you want him to. He gets completely lost in you for a few moments before he snaps out of it, and wraps one of his flannels around your shoulders. It's kind of big on you, and seeing you snuggle with his shirt like it's a blanket is too much. He still desperately tries to convince himself that it will never happen, that he doesn't have a chance with you, but all doubt disappears when he offers to let you stay the night. He awkwardly tells you he only has one bed, but you seem a little too okay with that, too excited to be in such close proximity to him. Neither of you know who's going to make the first move, but you know something is going to give. There's no way you can make it through the night without something happening between you.

i'm constructing a reality where fangs is dating gay kevin when he is in the infamous bus crash but instead of dying he goes into a coma. and gay kevin is loyally by his bedside until he snaps like three months in and hooks up with moose. the night he does that, fangs wakes up from said coma.
