Okay but if I’m trying to be serious Judith is so deeply tied to the night and the mystery of both her past and feelings. She’s someone who can keep and easy face and be decently amicable, but completely toe over any moment that requires her to be genuine or show her true feelings.

Shes a dragon rider! And said dragon is her closest friend- and likely only one before joining Brave Vesperia.

I think it's safe to say it's still "Tales of (Vesperia)"? When I find a franchise I really like (that is, characters and ship I really like), I can keep making fics/art of it for literal years.

14. Go on, who are your BroTPs?

Judith & Ba'ul owns my heart. Their relationship is so significant to both of their characters, and I've always had a soft spot for 'female characters with familiars/mythical creatures/whatever' trope.

Judith & Rita is another one I've come to really like, even if Rita isn't exactly a favorite of mine.

As for Flynn, I adore Flynn & Patty... And I don't ship them romantically as much, so we can add Flynn & Yuri to this, too. Buuuuut writing fic has got me into Flynn & Ba'ul, which is even worse cause there's nothing for them in fandom lmfao.

If we want non-Tales stuff, I really like Sidon & Mipha from BotW/AoC. Fish siblings make me sad.

20. Any ships which you surprised yourself by liking?

I answered that here, but I'll add one I forgot to mention:

Yustelle (Yuri/Estelle, Tales of Vesperia).

I went into Vesperia not expecting to ship it because everyone I talked to who played it kept saying that "Yuri and Estelle are like siblings". Granted, the people I was hearing this from were Flynn/Yuri shippers, so I guess that kinda adds up...

But I honestly saw nothing romantic about Yustelle when I first started. In fact, I shipped YuriJudith long before I ever shipped Yustelle. And I couldn't get into Ri//stelle because (tbh) I didn't like Rita. If I was gonna go flf for Estelle, then it was going to be Judistelle (Judelle, whatever).

Then the Mantaic scene happened.

Where Yuri's at his lowest and he fully expects Estelle to be afraid of him... but she just extends her hand and says "Here's to the road ahead."

That's what sparked my love for Yustelle, but I still hadn't really "OTP'd" it until I was midway through NG+. Mainly cause I still kinda liked YuriJudith and (of course) Fluri, but if you've been following long enough, you probably know I don't feel nearly the same as I did about those two ships lmfao.

I'm ngl either: seeing the amount of salt that nearly every shipper has for this ship (I am not kidding you: I've seen salt about it from Flynn/Yuri, Yuri/Judith, and Rita/Estelle fans!) just made me like it even more out of spite. Not to mention people who literally call it "incest", and I don't care for people throwing that word out when they see a ship they don't like lol.

If it makes them feel better, no one will "de-canon" Yustelle harder than the developers themselves. There are various interviews that dethrone the possibility of Yustelle, and one even compared Yuri's relationship to Estelle like "the way a mother swan shields her chicks with her wings" (or some shit).

And the fact that Vesperia doesn't have a canon romance (even if all the female characters sans Rita in your party have a crush on Yuri, yes, I'm dead serious) makes me appreciate Yustelle even more.

That got way off topic, but tl;dr: Yustelle was a ship I went in not expecting to like so much. My love for it grew thanks to NG+ and a healthy dosage of fandom salt.
