staring at my long but unpolished jude and f. milla meta in the drafts because i'm not far enough my second x2 playthrough (but now in jp) yet to post it in confidence... but these jude scenes in particular :''') with rough translations

LEIA: i'm sure it'll be okay! (eng: i'm sure she's fine!) JUDE: yeah, of course. (eng: oh, i'm not worried.) context: jude silently worrying about milla m. and pretending not to/covering it up with a smile while leia knows that he's not ok, so she tries to cheer him up...

his shock when f. milla appears out of nowhere to help them, and his reaction when she leaves without a second thought after he calls out to her to wait.

when she suddenly appears again (he can't even finish saying her name), and after she walks right past him- he's shocked and hurt, and the obvious feeling of "that isn't her." hits him for the first time. meanwhile from f. milla's perspective, it's natural since she doesn't know any of them, including jude. and after this he's back to worrying about where milla m. is while being conflicted about f. milla while f. milla gets lied to by all of them, and her sister plus world gets destroyed

I love Tales of Xillia. It's my favorite game. But randomly, at any time of the day, I remember that Jude is 15 years old (or 16 in Tales of Xillia 2). He is a medicine student and later on a scientist leading the spyrite project with 16. Like dude, he is so young and goes to save the world. And then I ship him with Alvin. Who is 26. Which weird when I remember Jude's actual age. He feels older. But he isn't even an adult yet!

I finished grinding the first titles for everyone's abilities and got the third level ones for Milla, Elize, and Rowen, but jesus fucking christ I do NOT wanna do that shit 400 more times EACH for Jude and Leia. Timing the backsteps is so difficult and annoying and tedious I'd rather fucking die than do that 800 times again. But Im going to have to eventually one day for those 4 extra titles 😔

So sorry this took so long. I have had a ton of shit happen between having a job and then getting laid off. Would not recommend. Also I'm writing most of this when I should be sleeping so I might jump around a bit. Oops

You have to be childhood friends. Cause with her having a crush on Jude for so long I don't see her REALLY looking at anyone else unless she's known them for just as long.

With her having been frail and sickly when she was younger, I'm thinking you'd probably spend more time looking after her than anything. Jude would help, of course, but this is about you.

Once her mother suggest sparring to raise her strength, don't think you're safe. You likely had to watch your back just as much as Jude did. (Probably watched each other's backs on numerous occasions. No one is safe from Leia when she's on a mission.)

Of course as children you probably never really looked at each other in much of a romantic light but as you got older you couldn't help but admire her spirit. She's overcome so much and is all the more strong for it. The two of you probably (definitely) caused a lot of trouble together with and without that voice of reason on your shoulders (Jude)

So when kids and Leia almost run him and wounded Milla over on the docks, Jude knows you are absolutely somewhere near and has that exasperated (almost disappointed) look on his face. Even so, when Leia insists on lending a helping hand you are right there with her. Little did you know it would lead to being stowaways on such a big journey.

The both of you no doubt mature together over the span of it. You're not children causing mischief in your small town anymore, it's life or death out here. I imagine Leia needing someone to help ground her so that's who you shape yourself to be. While there's surely no harm in some fun here and there, someone in your pairing needs rational thinking and a level head.

Not to say Leia can't be but she is passionate about so much and wants to please everyone and it's not always possible, so when that disappointment hits someone needs to be there to help her through it. She knows a relationship is give and take though. She knows there are times when you need her too, and she'll be there. She wouldn't be caught anywhere else when you're in need.

If she can be by your side, she will. Good and bad she'll stick with you through any storm and will love you after it passes.

Good luck deciphering her texts half the time. She uses so many emoji's it's like code most of the time. She refuses to text any other way though. But you've known her for so long it shouldn't be all too hard to figure out what she's trying to say (maybe you can give Alvin some lessons)

I love Leia so I might write some more sometime but this is all I can think of right now. I hope it's enough! If you're wanting something more specific feel free to request again.

I'm in my tales of games era rn so I was like hey I actually don't know much about the latest game so I went and looked at the cutscenes

and then I ran away screaming NOOO WHY IS IT SO HETERONORMATIVE

fr the latest tales of games such as berseria, zestiria, xillia were so not heteronormative

berseria had a female lead with no love interest, zestiria had... whatever the fuck sorey had going on with mikleo, xillia had Jude and Milla take on the classic girlboss x malewife couple, xillia 2 had a purely single protag, same for Vesperia (while I'd say Yuri/Estelle or Yuri/Flynn are not so farfetched as headcanons I wouldn't say we were meant to interpret them that way,, the fluri devotion in canon does get me all the time but it doesn't have to be romantic) and Symphonia had the extremely bisexual soulmate system

and then there's arise. arise scares the shit outta me

2 months later but we are back to Xillia 2!!

I did some grinding before we played and we were barely able to beat Chronos. That fight SUCKS.

I told my sister about the "Rollo-is-Chronos" idea which got a good laugh. She told me that apparently in the Star Wars prequels Jarjar Binks was supposed to be an antagonist too, which is hilarious

She chose to give the watch to Julius. Her: "I trust my brother." Me: "Aww..."

After leaping through the dimensional breach, the party was split up and we lost Elle, but Jude tried to reassure Ludger that she was with Alvin and probably safe. Sis: "If she hurts one hair on Alvin's head..." Me: "Wait, Alvin's?"

The cows and rappigs in Nia Khera are very cute, even in the fractured dimension. She wishes we could ride the horses. It would be epic for Ludger to ride a horse across the arid Elympios plains

My sister always picks the kinder options toward Julius, and wanted to give him the watch outright. He seemed like he was going to attack Elle but was interrupted. Alvin casually threatens that he's going to watch him from now on, but it's hard to take him seriously while he's still wearing the party hat accessory. Me: "It's a watch party."

Fractured Milla abducted our cat so she could feed him, but when we arrived Rollo appeared to be licking the floor. I don't know what happened to the in-game model of food but it was not there 😅

Elle: "Milla's really into cooking, but she says no one in the village will eat her food. I wonder how come?" Us: "Because it's floor??"

A very weird exchange, Muzet just walked into the house, hit Milla, and left. What did she even go in there for.

Alvin stepped up to lie to Milla even though she's a friend because she'll disappear eventually anyway. Both of us had to appreciate him being pragmatic about this, if also a little ruthless.

Xillia 2 added a function to hold x to climb faster. Sis: "Now Ludger looks like something out of a horror movie."

We had another laugh at Alvin and Leia's secret handshake. Sis: "Why is it 'See you Leia'? We're traveling together."

But shortly after that, my sister saw a sparkle and ran into a tree monster trying to get it. Sis: "I was 'in-tree-gued.'" Me: "We're as bad as Leia and Alvin."

She chose to kill Muzet. Her: "Sorry Milla, but my hatred of your sister is greater than my love for you."

Fractured Milla is now in the prime dimension, oops. Sis: "This is the game's way of letting us play as her while the real Milla is busy being a goddess."

On the way back to Nia Khera we stopped to fight a butterfly even though we only had 3 party members, but thankfully it was an easy fight

And once we arrived we had to fight Riddeaux because who would even choose to attack Julius there. Riddeaux was the easiest boss fight of the day but the game still has you scripted to lose to him and his stupid butter knife of a weapon

Elize asked after battle if all higher ups are like this. Sis: "Yes, this is what it's like to enter the workforce. This is your future, Elize." Me: "Can you imagine?? 'I want Saturdays OFF! En gaurde!'"

After the fight in Nia Khera we were taken back to Spirius for business as usual. Sis: "So we still work for him?? We dueled him in a sword fight but we're still like 'Ok, see you Monday'??"

We'll have to pick up from Spirius when we play again, whenever that will be. I think we're both enjoying it though, so I'm sure we shall return :)

Basically in tales of crestoria, you are either shipping Milla/Velvet OR a few years back you were on the bandwagon for Velvet being the love child of Jude/Milla and now you are seeing them interact.

Unpopular opinion I guess but I don’t see the problem with Jude/Milla?

I know people harp on the age thing, but you have to remember to put things back into their world’s context. Jude may be young by our world’s standards, but that’s not the case in his world. And, I mean, his whole character arc is about maturing into an independent adult. Also, what’s the worst they do? Hold hands once before being separated seemingly forever? Oh no the scandal!

It’s also sad to see this ship be so hated, because imo it’s one of the healthiest canon couple? Like, they respect and inspire each other, have good and open communication, balance each other’s strengths and weaknesses really well... They bring out the best in each other.

I can see not shipping it if that’s not your thing or you like other ships better, but I never really understood the hate...
