@corderas sent - ❝ everyone i have cared for has either died or left me. ❞ for John!
-General Content Warning-
John's grin grows wide as he sees the deputy
This is his favorite part. The questioning. John loves watching them scream and try to wiggle away from him. And this delicious morsel seems to promise a good show as she thrashes against her bindings.
"Tell me, Deputy, do you think Miss Hudson has much longer?" He spins Joey's chair around to show both officers that they've been bested. Hudson looks an absolute wreck with mascara and eye liner running down her cheeks and fresh bruises on every piece of exposed skin. The mans tattooed hand curls around her throat, an action she meets with a whimper. "Do you even care?" John continues his line of questioning, dipping down to press his cheek to Joey's. "Have you ever cared about anyone?" Obviously not. She's a dirty sinner, she only cares about herself. He's sure her answer will be something stupid. A grumble about her situation or a snarky comment.
-"Everyone I have cared for has either died or left me."-
"Aw..." John pushes out his bottom lip to fake sympathy. Oh, poor baby, did all your friends leave you? No family to visit on Christmas? John stuffs down a laugh. He'll find out what she's actually been through soon enough.
"Did they? Did it hurt?" He pauses, suddenly seeming genuinely intrigued. Knife in hand, John steps around Hudson and starts towards Marisol. In one swift motion, he has her chair on its back legs and his knife at her throat. "Was it your fault?" Blade bites through her first layer of skin, sending a bead of red down her throat.
"The truth, Deputy. I'll know if you're lying."

Rules, Guidelines, etc.:
[Used to be: ronaldrx]
I'm a hobby writer and mostly write (x Reader) FanFictions and Headcanons. But I am also working on my original story whenever I can, so that I’ll hopefully publish it as an actual book someday. My Ao3.
Here’s a link to my Ko-Fi, in case you want to support me financially. It would mean a lot to me! (Obviously no obligation whatsoever! You never have to pay for anything on my blog, it’s merely an option for donations.)

#DEPUTYS: a private writing blog for an THE JR. DEPUTY, MARISOL REYES, of ubisoft's FAR CRY 5 universe. adaptable to modern + apocalyptic settings. please send all ask prompts to main blog. guidelines + follow backs from @unforsake.
› STUDY › INSIGHT › PROMPTS › PINTEREST
TW: DOMESTIC ABUSE.
marisol was born in southern california. her father was a cop, her mother designed dresses / clothes until she accepted her fate as a stay at home mom. she has two brothers, they joined the military. she was substantially younger than them, so she became the baby and was a daddy's girl. she aspired to be just like her father and immediately looked into what she could do to join the force.
when she was in academy, she found out she was pregnant. it belonged to some guy she barely knew. a friend of a friend that she slept with at a party. he immediately stepped up and decided that he wanted to be a father. she didn't want to get rid of it due to religious beliefs. she didn't know he was associated with a local MC.
when she had to drop out of academy due to being pregnant, her father was extremely disappointed in her. he begged her to get rid of the child, only because it would ruin her life, but she couldn't do it. their relationship suffered immensely because of this. she felt like she let her father down and distanced herself from him. her baby daddy was happy to hear this, as he was pretty much a criminal / the local MC had issues with the police anyways. this cleared up his relationship with marisol with the gang.
she had her daughter, sofia and things were good for a couple of months. however, her baby daddy quickly became paranoid and controlling. he had it in his head that she was only with him because of the baby, and now that she was born, marisol would move on without him. he also became obsessed with the idea that she was talking to other men, and this spiraled into a constant theme of abuse.
when sofia was three, marisol finally had the nerve to leave. this happened after he went to throw something at her, and it nearly missed sofia. she packed up everything she could into her jeep and left with sofia at 3 in the morning.
she felt like she couldn't go home to her father, so they lived out of the car for a couple of weeks before marisol made the decision to leave town and roadtrip until something felt right. she eventually landed in hope county ( because of the name ) and settled in there. they lived out of her jeep at a campsite for a little while longer as she worked odd end jobs to scrounge up money and was able to rent a room out of someone she worked for's house.
once she was on her feet, marisol applied for the jr. deputy position. she had previous experience in academy and aspirations to pursue a career on the force. she took to the position immediately and juggled work / being a single mother for quite some time until the reaping.
with the cult taking over hope county, marisol was there to arrest joseph seed and sofia was being watched by a family friend. when the frenzy happened, the family friend was killed in the chaos and her daughter went missing.
she spends a majority of her time in hope county looking for her daughter, following leads, and occasionally helping the resistance. she unknowingly becomes the resistance's poster child despite not having the strongest ties to them.
she actively employs the cult + resistance in locating her daughter, but unknowing to her, her baby daddy had followed her into hope county and has had her since the reaping has taken flight. having the motorcycle gang present in hope county adds another level of chaos to an already chaotic environment, but also creates another faction that has no affiliation to either side.

1972 Hearing on the Theory and Practice of Communism (Venceremos Brigade) Part 2: Hearings before the Committee on Internal Security, 92nd Cong. (1972) (statement of Manolo Reyes, esteemed member of the Greater Miami Area)
1972 Hearing on the Theory and Practice of Communism (Venceremos Brigade) Part 2: Hearings before the Committee on Internal Security, 92nd Cong. (1972) (statement of Deputy Dwight Douglas Crews and Detective Dennis Dale Gordon)
1972 Hearing on the Theory and Practice of Communism (Venceremos Brigade) Part 2: Hearings before the Committee on Internal Security, 92nd Cong. (1972) (interview with Edward Parker Chatters, Jr., and Evelyn Maddox Chatters)
Accessed through Proquest.
This was the second set of hearings on communism and, more specifically, the actors internally and externally that were pushing to both destabilize the United States as the statement-givers knew it and institute radical social change.
It provides a look at how United States politicians are hearing about the Venceremos Brigade and the language used to talk about communism in the 1970s. It illustrates that many people had a very narrow view of what communism was, equating communism with fascism and anti-imperialism with communism.
Manolo Reyes, in particular, had a strong and harsh anti-communist sentiment, going so far as to describe the Venceremos Brigade as a Trojan Horse that would help normalize communist sentiment in the United States using radical U.S. citizens as the conduit. It was not Cuban influence in the United States that Manolo warned against, but rather Soviet influence that was using Cuba as a cover and disguise to influence the United States.
I believe that this is an effective source for looking at how some people and how many legislators in the United States viewed Communism in the 1970s. The biggest drawbacks to this source are how negative the testimonials are, the implicit patriotism, and the confusion by all parties involved in this hearing with conflating communism and fascism and conflating anti-imperialism with communism. I think that it is effective at convincing readers, unless they start reading with lots of prior knowledge about Cuba and Communism in the 1970s, that Cuba and Fidel Castro were terrible and that the Venceremos Brigade was an extension of that evil into the United States working to persuade the American populace away from a patriotic view. This hearing does a really good job at highlighting the anti-Cuban and anti-Communist sentiments at the time, as well as clarifying how information about the Venceremos Brigade can be framed in a purely negative light focused on ulterior motives.

The first image is the cover page for the document, listing the title, the congress that heard it, and the dates the hearings took place. The second image is a black and white image of a shadowed horse standing on a black pedestal in front of a white background. The phrase Venceremos Brigade is listed on the pedestal and the acronym VB is printed on the horse's flank, both in white.]

Ex-JPE aide asks SC to act on her release from jail
#PHnews: Ex-JPE aide asks SC to act on her release from jail
MANILA – Jessica Lucila "Gigi" Reyes, a former chief aide of former senator Juan Ponce Enrile, has asked the Supreme Court (SC) to act on her plea for a possible release from detention on plunder charges linked to the multi-billion pork barrel scam.
In her petition for habeas corpus filed before the high court on Thursday, Reyes said she has remained under detention since July 9, 2014, when she was arrested and detained for alleged involvement in the plunder case at the Taguig City Jail Female Dormitory in Camp Bagong Diwa.
A writ of habeas corpus is a legal remedy applicable for prison inmates, or others acting on their behalf, to dispute the legal basis of their detention.
Reyes pointed out that her co-accused Enrile was released on bail by the SC on Aug. 20, 2015, after he was first detained on July 4, 2014.
Meanwhile, another accused former senator Jose "Jinggoy" Estrada was also released on bail on Sept. 16, 2017.
She also cited that former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was detained from Oct. 4, 2012, and released upon acquittal by the SC on July 21, 2016.
Another lawmaker, Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. was detained on June 20, 2014, and released upon acquittal by the Sandiganbayan.
Reyes has claimed innocence of the charges and pointed the blame to Jose Antonio V. Evangelista, her former deputy in the office of Enrile.
In September last year, the Sandiganbayan rejected Reyes' plea for temporary liberty, citing that she is not at risk of contracting the coronavirus disease 2019 inside the jail facility. (PNA)

Bohol halfway to getting nod on Covid-19 molecular lab
#PHnews: Bohol halfway to getting nod on Covid-19 molecular lab
TAGBILARAN CITY – Governor Arthur Yap on Monday said Bohol province’s determination to operate a molecular laboratory that can conduct polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) is halfway to getting the nod.
“According to reports I received, we are 50 percent away,” Yap said in an interview with the Philippine News Agency.
The National Task Force against Covid-19 sent here a team on Friday to evaluate Bohol’s qualification to operate a molecular laboratory for PCR testing on Covid-19.
Yap said the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH), a level-3 government-run hospital, bids to qualify as a molecular laboratory in Bohol.
Aside from Gallares Hospital, Yap said the provincial government is also planning to establish its own laboratory near the airport in Panglao.
Representatives and officials from the National Task Force against Covid-19, Department of Health (DOH), World Health Organization (WHO), and Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) have already inspected the Gallares medical facility.
The team included Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Vivencio Dizon, who serves as deputy chief implementer on government approaches against Covid-19, Rachel Fermo, Fiel dela Cruz, Ava Sy, Engr. Archie Reyes and Dr. Jinho Shin.
They arrived in Bohol through a chartered flight that landed at the Bohol-Panglao International Airport Friday morning. They proceeded to GCGMH here, a level-3 hospital which bids for accreditation to operate a molecular laboratory.
Yap received the information about Dizon’s visit from National Task Force Against Covid-19 Chief Implementer Carlito Galvez Jr.
He quoted Galvez as saying that this is “in line with the concerted efforts of the government to prevent and mitigate the spread of Covid-19 and in strengthening our healthcare system in different parts of the country”.
“Moving forward, we in Bohol must have our own polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing capability. We cannot be dependent on Cebu. We have been working on a PCR laboratory at the Gallares Hospital for the past month and last night, I have received a letter from Sec. Carlito Galvez informing me that they are sending a team to inspect the Gallares Hospital,” Yap said.
The governor also said that “to date, I have as yet no news of the second PCR test for the first batch of returning OFWs.”
On March 27, GCGMH chief of hospital, Dr. Mutya Kismet Tirol-Macuno, informed the governor during a meeting with the medical advisers that Bohol had already been identified at that time by DOH as a possible testing area for Covid-19.
Macuno said that if Bohol passes the standards, testing for Covid-19 could already be done right here in the province to prioritize those in severe health conditions.
PCR machines would be used, utilizing testing kits the same as the ones used at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Sub-National Laboratory (VSMMC-SNL).
Specimens will only be submitted to the RITM for clarificatory results if the local test result proves positive. (PNA)

MMDA gets new boat for Pasig River Ferry System
#PHnews: MMDA gets new boat for Pasig River Ferry System
MANILA – The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday gained a new ferry for its Pasig River Ferry System (PRFS) after signing of a cooperation agreement between the agency and new telecommunications player Dito Telecommunity.
In a press conference at the Guadalupe Ferry Station in Makati City, MMDA Deputy Chairman, Undersecretary Frisco San Juan Jr. said Dito’s purchase of the 150-seater twin-hull catamaran and subsequent loan of the vessel to the ferry service marked the first time a private company joined the initiative to make Pasig River a viable transportation mode in Metro Manila.
“This day is a milestone kasi nga (because) this is the first in the private sector to join the initiative launched by the Office of the President,” San Juan said.
San Juan said the vessel would operate within the next two to three weeks after the MMDA completes route planning for the new ferry and other requirements.
Purchased from the Nautical Transport Service, Inc. (NTSI), he said two more of the same type of vessel would be added to the current fleet of the PRFS in the next two to three weeks after other private entities pledged to help in the revival of the maritime transport network.

The vessel, powered by twin diesel engines capable of producing a total of 700 horsepower, is also airconditioned for the comfort of its passengers—up to 200 with some standing passengers—, with free WiFi, a television, and is capable of cruising at 24 knots (about 44 kilometers per hour).
However, NTSI chairman Jose Reyes Jr. said the vessel would probably cruise at an average of 8 to 12 knots during operation due to terrain limitations and water conditions in Pasig River.
Following a meeting with the OP and other government agencies on Tuesday, San Juan said the free rides offered at the PRFS would not extend beyond January 31.
However, he said the fee for the ferry service would be cheaper than in the past to continue to encourage commuters to patronize the mass transport system.
“We will formulate a minimal fee para lang sa maintenance ng actual boats at para magaan sa bulsa ng mga mananakay (just for the maintenance of the actual boats and to make sure it’s cost-effective for commuters),” San Juan said.
He said the actual fare will be announced by the end of the month. (PNA)

Attacks despite truce show Reds ruthless form: Parlade
#PHnews: Attacks despite truce show Reds ruthless form: Parlade
MANILA – A ranking official of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Tuesday said the communist rebels revealed their ruthless form by conducting attacks against military and police personnel in clear violation of the recently ceasefire agreed upon by the government and their political leaders.
Adding insult to injury is that these attacks were carried out when the truce was only starting, AFP Deputy Chief-of-Staff for Civil-Military Operations, Major General Antonio Parlade, Jr., said in a statement to the Philippine News Agency.
"Only a few hours after the declaration of ceasefire by the GRP (Government of the Republic of the Philippines) and NDFP (National Democratic Front of the Philippines), the NPAs attacked the Army in an ambush-land mine in Labo, Camarines Norte, and the police in Iloilo," he added.
The truce took effect around 12 a.m. of December 23 and will end at 11:59 p.m. of January 7 next year.
Parlade said these unprovoked attacks, which in itself are horrible violations of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP)-NPA of the truce agreement, was further made worse by the communist rebels' use of land mines which are clear violations of international conventions as well.
He also scored the leadership of the CPP-NPA for alleging that the purported attacks on military and police units were based on news reports which is short of saying that the military and police could be engaging in propaganda.
"In a statement, (Luis) Jalandoni (NDF senior adviser) has the gall to say that the reports were just based on news reports? Is he insinuating that the AFP and PNP (Philippine National Police) could just be propagandizing, and staging a fake attack? After a soldier was killed and scores wounded from the Army and PNP?" Parlade said. "Is he adding insult to injury by trying to ignite the sentiments of soldiers and policemen whom we know are not agreeable to peace talks, but are nonetheless, supportive of the decision of the Commander-in-Chief?"
Despite the series of attacks by communist rebels, he said Bayan Muna Representative Carlos Zarate is still to issue any statement condemning these violations of the ceasefire agreement.
He said he finds this disturbing as the lawmaker was quick to allege that the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF ELCAC) is full of "saboteurs" and "that security officials are spoilers of peace?"
"Clearly now who are the saboteurs here? To those who have been red-tagged by 'Joma' (CPP founding chair Jose Maria Sison) and the CPP what can we say about these attacks? Where is Bayan's Renato Reyes who had a lot to say about the peace talks?" he added.
With these treacherous attacks by the CPP-NPA, families of soldiers and policemen are mourning and spending Christmas in the morgue and hospital, Parlade added.
"It has happened before but this is the price of the government's genuine pursuit for peace," he said.
While the lives of these poor soldiers can never be brought back, he said Bayan and the Makabayan bloc, which are all reportedly affiliated to the CPP-NDF, can start demonstrating goodwill by condemning this barbaric act of the NPA terrorists.
"Let us all contribute to paving the way for genuine peace. This treachery and the undefiant stance of Kamatayan (Makabayan) bloc to denounce violence only serve to cast doubt on the NDFP's agenda for seeking a truce. Cui bono? (to whom it is a benefit)," he said.
The CPP-NPA is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the Philippines. (PNA)

"The eyewitnesses who are familiar with accused Datu Unsay such as Rasul Sangki, Akmad Abubakar Esmael, Anok Akil, Norodin Mauyag, and Sukarno Badal categorically declared that they saw said accused in Saniag, Malating, and Masalay on November 23, 2009. Those acquitted were ordered released immediately unless they are being detained for other offenses.
During Thursday's promulgation, the prosecution of 11 government lawyers and six private prosecutors led by Deputy Chief State Prosecutor Richard Anthony Fadullon III posed no objection to Solis-Reyes' proposal that only the salient portions of her decision was to be read in open court while the defense counsels prevailed in their request that only the dispositive portion be read.

The victims were part of a convoy on their way to file the certificate of candidacy in Shariff Aguak of Esmael "Toto" Mangudadatu.
