New Post has been published on https://bankakredin.com/what-is-jpg-jpg-file-extension-what-is-it-for-how-to-open-it/
JPG
What is JPG? Jpg File Extension What Is It For, How To Open It?
JPG is simply an image file. Some image files are .JPG, some image files are . JPEG file format is used. There is not much difference between JPG and JPEG file types. Because they both refer to files of the same type. It is possible to convert the JPG file to different image file types.
A portion of JPG images  may contain the .JPE file extension. People rarely encounter them, as the .JPE file type (preferred for images with a lot of color) is not very common. The same is  true for the .JFIF file type. Briefly, .JFIF files (JPEG File Interchange Format) are seen as compressed JPG files.
What is JPG and when was it invented?
The JPG standard was standardized in 1992 after 6 years of work  . The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) started its first studies  in 1986 . Later,  the Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) was established. This group has created a new standard called JPEG that uses data compression to keep image files small.
The JPG file format  is widely used in the World Wide Web and  digital cameras . This file format is especially useful for internet users with slower connection speeds . In terms of photography, JPG files contain EXIF information, which includes details about when the image was taken, settings such as exposure value and shutter speed  .
The reason why JPG files are widely used is because of the compression algorithm. The compression algorithm significantly reduces the size of the file. Therefore, it makes JPG files  easy to view, store and  share on the internet . When the JPG file is highly compressed, the quality of the image decreases.
Although JPG is very common, some programs and applications can cause problems. Programs may have trouble identifying it as a JPG file, especially when the file’s extension is .JPEG rather than .JPG  . In such cases,  it is necessary to change the file extension using basic image editing applications such as Paint .
What is the difference between JPG and JPEG?
The only difference between JPG and JPEG files is the naming. The file formats are exactly the same. Both JPG and JPEG are supported by the Joint Photographic Experts Group . The reason for the emergence of the JPG extension name is that some of the older versions of the Windows operating system do not accept long file extension names.
When the JPG file format was first introduced, the official file extension was JPEG. However, the .JPG file extension is preferred over .JPEG, as Windows imposes a three-letter limitation on file extensions. Both .JPG and .JPEG file extensions continued to be used after Windows changed the requirements for file extensions.
How to open JPG file?
JPG image files are considered one of the most standard formats, among many different image file formats. The JPG file is supported by all desktop programs and mobile apps that can open and edit images. Since JPG is one of the most widely used image formats, there is no problem in support.
A JPG file  can be easily opened with the Photos app on  Windows  and Apple Photos on MacOS  . Also, the JPG file  can be viewed using web browsers such as Chrome  and  Firefox  . The JPG file format  is supported by standard gallery apps on mobile operating systems such as Android  and  iOS  .
How to convert JPG file?
When it is necessary to convert a JPG file to a different file type, two different ways can be preferred. The first way is to take advantage of a file conversion platform available online. Services such as CloudConvert or FreeConvert can be used for this . Through these services, JPG file can be converted to file types such as PNG, GIF, BMP, WEBP.
Another method used to convert the JPG file is the classic method. First, you need to open the JPG file  with a program such as Paint, IrfanView or  GIMP . Later, the JPG file can be saved in a different file type by using the Save As features of these programs.

Convert ANSI PST to Unicode Format or Unicode PST to ANSI Format
Convert ANSI PST to Unicode Format or Unicode PST to ANSI Format
In the earlier versions of MS Outlook, PST file of ANSI format is used to save the messages and other mailbox items. The main disadvantage of this file format is its size limitation, which is 2 GB. It cannot store more than 2 GB of data. If this file crosses this size limit, then it becomes prone to corruption. An oversized Outlook data file can easily be corrupted. Other than this if you try to…

Convert HTML to Image: A Step-by-Step Guide ✨
Tumblr media
Do you want to turn some HTML code you've made that's on your website and have a way to convert it into an image for you to save?
Well, look no further! I too wanted to do the same thing but funny enough, there weren't any straightforward tutorials out there that could show you how! After hours of searching, I finally discovered the solution~!
This is an old tutorial I made 🐼
Tumblr media
💛 Set your environment
Before we dive into the conversion process, I'll assume you already have your HTML code ready. What you want to learn is how to turn it into an image file. You should have a good grasp of HTML and JavaScript. For this tutorial, we'll use the following HTML code example:
Tumblr media
We won't include the CSS code, as it doesn't affect this tutorial. The JavaScript file (script.js) at the bottom of the body element is where we'll add the functionality for the conversion.
Your page should resemble the following:
Tumblr media
As you can see, the "Click me" button will handle the conversion. We aim to convert everything within the div.info-div into an image.
💛 Using the html2canvas JavaScript Library
The html2canvas library allows you to take screenshots of webpages and target specific elements on a screen. Here are the steps to include the library in your project:
The steps to put the library in your project:
Visit the html2canvas website for more information.
Copy the CDN link from here
Tumblr media
and include it in a script tag in your project's head tag in the HTML file:
Tumblr media
That's it for including the library on the HTML side. Now, let's move on to the JavaScript code.
💛 JavaScript Functionality
Here's the JavaScript code to handle the conversion:
Tumblr media
In this code, I want to turn the whole div.info-div into an image, I put it into a variable in const div = document.querySelector(".info-div");.
I also put the button into a variable in const button = document.querySelector("button");
I added a click event listener to the button so when the user clicks the button, it will follow the code inside of the event listener!
You can find similar code like this in the documentation of the html2canvas library:
Tumblr media
What is happening here is:
We add the div (or what the element we want to take an image of) into the html2canvas([element]).then((canvas)
Added the image file type url to a variable = const imageDataURL = canvas.toDataURL("image/png"); - You can replace the png to other image file types such as jpg, jpeg etc
Created an anchor/link tag, added the href attribute to imageDataURL
The download attribute is where we will give the default name to the image file, I added "dog.png"
Perform the click() function to the anchor tag so it starts to download the image we created
And that's it!
💛 The End
And that's it! You've successfully learned how to turn your HTML into an image. It's a great way to save and share your web content in a unique format.
Tumblr media
If you have any questions or need further clarification, please comfortable to ask. Enjoy converting your HTML into images! 💖🐼

octoling backup dancers
Tumblr media
Concept art for the final boss! In the game Callie is alone on stage but in this one art she has these cool octoling backup dancers. There was also a concept art comic with the backup dancers but they didn't make it into the game :(
coconut.vtf
Tumblr media
There was a meme going around of "the coconut that if you delete it destroys TF2" but actually it's just a replacement for coffee beans in a taunt that was never released.
Okay ok ok SO. the TF2 coconut jpeg has such an interesting history. coconut.vtf, or coconut jpg file, is an unused image of a coconut found under a texture file in the game. you have to actually convert the file type to view it, but sure enough it's literally just a jpg of a coconut. here's where things get interesting. someone found the file after it was added in a 2014 update and posted it on reddit. From that post, someone made a joke comment saying "I have no fucking idea who put this here, but when I deleted it the game wouldn’t start. Words cannot describe my fucking confusion", which was then missatributed to be an actual comment from a developer at valve. This snowballed into many people actually believing to this day that this coconut file crashes tf2 if deleted. The coconut does not actually hold the game together, and of the 4 files you need to run tf2 it is not one of them. you can delete it at anytime with no issue. in reality it was an effect for an unused taunt that never got implemented into the game. but it's history of misinformation is so interesting to me. btw one of the file you ACTUALLY need to run tf2 is the 2fort cow, which isn't cut content I just think that's fun.

Note
What does your blog title mean? Genuine question as someone who cares about file types, especially as a graphic designer.
Imo, feature-wise, WebP is the single best image format currently available ((and in widespread use, I think in my ideal world JPEG XL would reign supreme)). It can do both lossy and lossless encoding, animation, transparancy, etc., and on top of it all it's an open format ((so yes, while Google made it and is pushing it pretty hard, it's entirely free for anyone to use and implement, without paying anyone anything)).
But it's also a format people love to hate, and I absolutely get why. Basically all browsers can handle it no problem and it's been specifically designed with web applications in mind ((and again, there's a big push from Google)), so virtually all websites nowadays, tumblr included, just convert all uploaded images to WebP. However, the mainstream support on anything that isn't a browser just isn't quite there yet – hell, even Discord can't deal with animated WebP last time I checked! – especially when it comes to art programs. And so you end up with a file format that's everywhere while people don't really have the tools to do anything with it.
But I still always get a bit mad when people then proceed to shit on WebP itself, rather than the fact that it's not supported more. It's a good format – all the advantages of jpg, png, and gif rolled into a single container! – but without wider native supoort by programs and operating systems I fear we'll be stuck in this situation for a good while longer

Optimize Your Images with Free Online Tools: Compress and Convert with Ease
In today's digital world, visuals play a significant role in communication, marketing, and entertainment. Whether you’re managing a website, running a social media campaign, or creating content for personal use, the ability to optimize images efficiently is essential. Image files, especially those in high resolution, can take up a lot of storage and bandwidth, slowing down websites and making it difficult to share files. However, with the help of free image compression tools and online GIF generators, you can easily compress images, convert formats, and enhance user experience.
The Importance of Compressing Images
Large image files can have a negative impact on various digital platforms. When websites are filled with high-resolution images, it can slow down loading times, frustrating users and leading to higher bounce rates. Slow-loading sites also rank lower in search engine results, hurting SEO performance. Additionally, storage space can quickly be used up if images aren’t optimized, which is particularly problematic for businesses or individuals managing large portfolios.
Thankfully, the solution is simple: compress images in bulk online using tools designed to reduce file sizes without compromising quality. Bulk image compression tools allow you to optimize multiple images at once, making it fast and efficient to reduce file sizes across entire galleries or campaigns.
Tumblr media
Compress Images in Bulk Online
The ability to compress images in bulk online is a game changer for photographers, designers, and content creators who handle a large number of images. Bulk compression tools offer a quick solution by allowing users to upload and compress dozens (or even hundreds) of images simultaneously.
Benefits of Bulk Compression
Time-saving: Instead of compressing one image at a time, you can upload and optimize multiple files in a single step.
Efficiency: Compressing images in bulk ensures that all your images are optimized uniformly, maintaining consistency in file size and quality across your website or project.
Improved Performance: Bulk compression reduces the strain on your server by decreasing the overall size of images, resulting in faster loading times for websites and applications.
How to Compress Images in Bulk
Here’s a step-by-step guide to compressing images in bulk:
Select a Free Image Compression Tool: There are many free image compression tools available online that allow you to upload multiple files at once. Tools like TinyPNG, Kraken.io, and Compressjpeg.com offer bulk compression options for JPG, PNG, and GIF formats.
Upload Your Images: Use the drag-and-drop feature to upload all the images you want to compress. Most tools allow batch uploading, so you can quickly add your files.
Compress: Once the images are uploaded, the tool will automatically compress them, reducing file sizes without affecting the quality significantly.
Download Compressed Files: After the compression process is complete, download your optimized images. Some tools allow you to download all files in a zip folder for convenience.
Compress Jpeg Images Free Online
JPG (or JPEG) images are widely used for their balance between quality and file size. However, even JPG files can be too large for some purposes, making it necessary to compress JPEG images free online. Compressing JPEGs helps ensure that images load quickly on websites and are easy to share via email or social media.
Using a Free Image Compression Tool for JPGs
To compress JPEG images free online, follow these simple steps:
Choose a Compression Tool: Websites like JPEG-Optimizer, Compressjpeg.com, and TinyJPG specialize in reducing the size of JPEG images.
Upload Your JPEG File: Use the upload feature to select the JPEG file(s) you want to compress.
Adjust Compression Settings (Optional): Some tools allow you to adjust the level of compression. You can choose between maintaining maximum quality or reducing file size significantly. This is especially useful if you want control over the final result.
Download the Optimized Image: Once compressed, download the JPEG file, which will be significantly smaller but still of good quality.
Compress Images Free Online for Various Formats
Whether you’re working with PNG, JPEG, or GIF files, many tools offer the ability to compress images free online. These free tools cater to different formats and provide options to compress, resize, or convert files quickly and efficiently.
Popular Free Image Compression Tools
Here are some popular free online tools that allow you to compress images across multiple formats:
