I had never seen Beetlejuice before seeing it on the big screen at the Joy Cinema last night, and I think it is about to become my go-to Halloween movie. The Joy Cinema is in its element all October; they run classic monster movies once a week during the rest of the year, and nobody does Halloween better than they do. Classic horror movie posters along the walls and local beer on tap put you in the mood to enjoy the experience of going to the movies. Follow that up with quirky slideshows of roadside attractions and carnivals before the previews begin, and you've got a recipe for a truly charming experience. The owners really care about movies and the experience of it; I don't think they would work as hard as they do if they did not love what they do.
