josh has always been sober at every party since the loss of his sisters—he wanted to be sure he's in control. he'd be by himself, smoking a whole pack of cigarettes once the alcohol comes out

then chris would plop down beside him with a slurred "heeeeey man" and Josh's flat "yeah" "i get it, man" when he had to listen to Chris's drunken ramblings

if it was sam, he'd immediately stub the cigarette out to the ground. he knew she hated the smell—was against smoking altogether because well, it kills you. and sometimes... sometimes when it was really just the two of them, he'd put it out on his arm, waiting for her to freak. she didn't. but he knew it made her scared for him

also, i can imagine him driving a sick jess to a pharmacy that's an hour away at 2 am because he's the only one capable to drive atm. and everyone thought they "got together" somewhere. they're the two people in the group that flirts like its a sport, so it wasn't that surprising to them

You know what scene I wish we got? Josh finding out about Buck dating Tommy, a man. I forget which season it was but that episode where Josh jokes that it looks like Chim and Maddie were setting him and Buck up, I want a callback to that so bad. Idk Josh making a joke about how he could’ve been Buck’s bisexual awakening or some shit.
