The text of the letter and names of the celebrities that signed it under the cut.
"October 23, 2023
Dear President Biden,
We are heartened by Friday’s release of the two American hostages, Judith Ranaan and her daughter Natalie Ranaan and by today’s release of two Israelis, Nurit Cooper and Yocheved Lifshitz, whose husbands remain in captivity.
But our relief is tempered by our overwhelming concern that 220 innocent people, including 30 children, remain captive by terrorists, threatened with torture and death. They were taken by Hamas in the savage massacre of October 7, where over 1,400 Israelis were slaughtered - women raped, families burned alive, and infants beheaded.
Thank you for your unshakable moral conviction, leadership, and support for the Jewish people, who have been terrorized by Hamas since the group’s founding over 35 years ago, and for the Palestinians, who have also been terrorized, oppressed, and victimized by Hamas for the last 17 years that the group has been governing Gaza.
We all want the same thing: Freedom for Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side in peace. Freedom from the brutal violence spread by Hamas. And most urgently, in this moment, freedom for the hostages.
We urge everyone to not rest until all hostages are released. No hostage can be left behind. Whether American, Argentinian, Australian, Azerbaijani, Brazilian, British, Canadian, Chilean, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Eritrean, Filipino, French, German, Indian, Israeli, Italian, Kazakh, Mexican, Panamanian, Paraguayan, Peruvian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, South African, Spanish, Sri Lankan, Thai, Ukrainian, Uzbekistani or otherwise, we need to bring them home.

ART HOUSE PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCES 2023-2024 INKUBATOR PLAYWRIGHTS COHORT
Tumblr media
Posted on October 4, 2023 by Editor
Art House Productions is proud to announce the 2023-2024 cohort of its INKubator Program. INKubator is a year-long generative process for a select group of 6 playwrights in residence at Art House Productions. This year’s playwrights are Upasna Barath, Amanda Sage Comerford, Leo Layla Díaz, Neil Levi, Dave Osmundsen, and Marcus Scott. Playwrights will meet monthly alongside program director Alex Tobey to share new work, receive feedback, and develop a first draft of a new play. In the spring, each writer will team up with a director and actors to present a public reading as a part of Art House Productions’ INKubator New Play Festival scheduled for May 2024. Audiences who attend the festival will have the opportunity to participate in conversations with the writers, directors, and actors following each performance. INKubator playwrights will be the first cohort to meet full-time in Art House Productions’ new theater inside the Hendrix, at 345 Marin Boulevard between Bay Street and Morgan Street. In addition to official INKubator programming, playwrights will also have the ability to utilize the space for meetings, rehearsals, and readings. Submissions were evaluated through a process coordinated by INKubator Program Director, Alex Tobey, in partnership with INKubator alum playwrights Iraisa Ann Reilly and Micharne Cloughley, and Art House Productions’ Associate Executive Director, Anna Gundersen. The following finalists were also honored in this year’s submission process: Phillip Gregory Burke, Lauren D’Errico, Kevin T. Durfee, Joseph Gallo, Lizz Mangan, Kyle Mazer, Frank Murdocco, and M. D. Schaffer. Anna Gundersen, Associate Executive Director of Art House Productions, says, “This year’s INKubator cohort is an exciting group of talented playwrights who pitched unique and thoughtful plays to develop. INKubator is a program that began at Art House in 2018, and under the leadership of Alex Tobey, it continues to grow. We look forward to supporting these artists during their play development residency and in the future.”

Ten Random Books From My Physical TBR: Round 2
1. A Hundred Pieces of Me - Lucy Dillon (2014)
Once upon a time I read Lost Dogs and Lonely Hearts and it knocked my socks off; adult fiction could be full of animals and be good?? Then I read Walking Back to Happiness and it wasn’t quite as good, but I’d already decided to read all of her books. That was in 2014. But the plot of this sounds more inherently interesting, so I do fully intend to continue when I want a dose of comforting British women’s fiction full of dogs and no gross scenes.
2. The Blue Roan - Adelaide Leitch (1971)
A horse story I bought when my beloved antiquarian bookstore closed down. I know nothing about it. But there’s also a less than 5% chance I won’t like it. (it’s possible for old horse books to be bad GOLDEN MARE, but very hard to be worse than 3 stars, if that)
3. Dear Bill, Remember Me? - Norma Fox Mazer (1976)
This author is hit-or-miss but I’ve read a lot of her work. Why not short stories. (answer: because 70s teen lit is low on my priority list if not animal-centric, though I know at some point I will want a hit of exactly that in the same way I enjoyed Sixteen for 80s fic, and this book will serve me well. Plus it’s one of those pocket-size paperbacks.
4. The Sorrel Horse - Ruth Nolton Moore (1982)
Yet another vintage horse book I know nothing about. :) At least this one is a fairly slender paperback. One day I will pare this collection down a bit and I doubt this one will be a keeper, but until then...
5. Canyon Winter - Walt Morey (1972)
Morey is one of those animals-and-wilderness authors I really loved in middle/high school so I just sort of made it a habit to collect his books as I saw them. This is a particularly nice ex-library one.
6. In Another Light - A.J. Banner (2021)
This is from the Once Upon a Book Club box I scored at the library sale last year. Saving it for when I’m ready to open all the little gifts along the way, an experience I’m so looking forward to that I keep Saving it for the exactly perfect time (check back in 2027).
7. Wild Traveler - A.M. Lightner (1967)
“ family that vacations out West and finds a coyote pup” sold. This is a very tiny book so it is again part of the “vintage wildlife/pocket-sized” collection.
8. The Golden Mean - Nick Bantock (1993)
Is it not enough to simply own the (near) complete collection of beautiful Griffin & Sabine books and maybe take out the removable postcards and letters from time to time to admire them? Must I actually read all the words?
9. Yukon Mystery - Joseph H. Gage (1965 copy of a ... 50s? story)
Yet another pocket-sized kids/teen western adventure with a dog. These are REALLY satisfying when I want exactly that. That said, this one’s cover is all scribbled over in pen so unless it’s 5 stars I’m planning to let it go once I read it. Which I haven’t done yet because I don’t want to ~waste~ the adventure.
10. A Christmas Carol - Charles Dickens
Ohhh, I know this is an ugly-as-sin paperback from the 80s that I saved during one of my mom's purges of her own collection because I thought I might want to read it someday. which I still might. But I will get it from the library, and then if I love it it I'll buy a pretty edition someday. When I find this particular eyesore it is leaving!
I don’t actually have a third round of this post on deck at the moment, so maybe you’ll be spared (maybe)

Magical Objects
Tumblr media
Magical Healing.
This slightly sad looking broken bowl is potentially one of the most powerful magical objects in the world. Known as the Nanteos cup after the mansion in wales (Aberystwyth) where it spent a lot of time.  Drinking from the cup is reported to heal and extend your life.
The story goes that this is the actual cup used at the last supper (ie the Holy Grail). It was brought over to wales by Joseph of Arimathea and passed to the monks from Strata Florida, who were to keep it in their Abby. Seven monks were always assigned to watch over the bowl. In 1539 however King Henry VIII dissolved the rights of the Abby and had it demolished. The cups whereabouts are unknown until this slightly damaged section turned up in the Nanteos mansion where it had been hidden.
Tumblr media
This is how the Nanteos Cup may have originally looked.  It was a mazer bowl (Medieval cup or chalice). It was still being granted to the sick to provide healing until recently, however on the last occurrence someone stole it ( it was returned later). You can find it now on display in the National Library of wales.
Nanteos is now a country house hotel.
