The Siq of Petra

The Siq, Al-Siq, or As-Siq literally translates to "the Shaft" in English. It is a mystical corridor that serves as the main entrance to the ancient Nabatean city of Petra, which is located in southern Jordan. A stroll through The Siq is purely magical, and the towering walls give you a tingling sensation.

The Siq is a narrow gorge that is about 3 meters wide at certain points and has a length of about 1.2 kilometres. The walls of the Siq measure between 91–182 metres (299–597 ft) in height. Discover History at Jerash's Roman Ruins

Did you know Jerash has a rich Roman history? While Petra's stunning structures are a must-see, Jerash has a plethora of temples and theatres. One of the most important places to visit in Jerash is the Zeus Sanctuary. The sanctuary was built around 162 AD. The unique view of the Oval plaza is a reward for climbing, but there is also an area at the top where Zeus may have lived.

The Oval Plaza, the sound theatre (with a seating capacity of 300), and the Cardo Maximus pavement are all advantages of visiting Jerash. A trip to Jerash would be incomplete without seeing Hadrian's Arch.

Drive through the Wadi Rum desert

Since the 1960s, the Wadi Rum desert has been one of Jordan's most popular tourist destinations. This magnificent protected area attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world. Wadi Rum, also known as the Valley of the Moon, allows visitors to trek the mountains (with a guide), drive through the desert in a jeep, rock climb, and ride the famous Arabian horses. The view is breathtaking both during the day and at night. Most visitors jump at the chance to sleep in the outdoor camps to get a clear view of the starry sky. Restaurants and small shops are available throughout the desert to meet the needs of visitors.
