They opened their eyes, wondering in the silence of the cave, tucked under the furs they had gathered. Darkness surrounded them, yet it all seemed so clear now.

They were bound, her joys becoming his, and his pains hers.

“Do you think anyone else ever experienced that?” She said out loud. “It all seems so strange, so new…”

“And home.”

She raised her head towards him, a light in her eyes.

“Home, indeed,” She took pleasure in saying the word. “Blood of my blood.”

His lips widened in a smile as the back of his hand caressed her cheek. She closed her eyes, content.

“I am yours and you are mine.”

She smiled too, a giddy feeling building in her stomach. “We took it quite literally, it seems.”

“We never did things half way, did we?”

She giggled and his grin widened as he raised lightly to tickle her. Her mouth opened in laughter. He took advantage of it, his tongue grazing her upper lip before joining hers.

“Was that your way of trapping me into such a ritual, Jon Snow?” She teased. “Me, poor young girl ignorant of the traditions of this country?”

He laughed. “From my understanding, you knew the words quite perfectly, for someone who proclaims to be ignorant of it. If there’s someone trapped, it’s me, my lovely and greedy dragon.”

Jon lay awake through the night. In his solitary bed, he stared up into the smoke-blackened rafters, blood surging with shame and pain and love, like a dark sea rolling in a storm. Dany's face, smooth and calm or twisted in agony, stared back at him every time he closed his eyes.

All these weeks, while Queen Daenerys of House Targaryen had been gracious and glowing, a paragon of royal power, Dany, his Dany, had been weeping after they spoke. She'd lain awake, just as he was doing now, through long, miserable nights. And, thanks to him, she’d had been living like a spy in her own kingdom, having to show a false face to nearly everyone around her just to survive.

His heart jumped in his chest and he nodded wordlessly.

"All commanders are invited this afternoon to a demonstration of fighting styles and weapons at the Dothraki camp. The Queen's visitors have never seen Essosis in combat, and wish to better understand their new allies and offer some innovations. I believe there will also be a horse race."

He couldn't quite keep the disappointment from echoing through his body, nor could he hold back another flash of irritation. A horse race and some show, like a tourney, when his home was still a shambles of melted, bloodstained rubble.

"There is much work to be done on the castle before we leave and the worsening weather hits. How long will this take?"

If Jon really is supposed to kill Dany in the GoT finale after being talked into it by his family (!!), killing the woman he loved, the woman who trusted him and believed in him, sacrificing all the honor that Ned wanted to be his family's goal and living with the knowledge of what he has done, I would also go to the wall and be celibate for the rest of my life tbh.
