Plot: After turning them down and ignoring their flirting, Jonghyun and Taemin persist after claiming to have fallen in love with you at first sight. After a long game of cat and mouse, they’ve finally gotten you where they want you, and see to it that they please you before you leave for a long business trip in America.

Persistent. They just wouldn't back down like all the others did, usually when you turned idols down they'd give it one more shot before throwing in the towel. But Jonghyun and Taemin just wouldn't give it up, every time you denied their offer for breakfast, they'd suggest brunch instead, you already ate? Then lunch instead? Not hungry? What about a movie? No? What about shopping instead at 3 o'clock? It seemed that for your every no or excuse you had, they had another option, while at first, it was slightly annoying being pestered by the two men despite your obvious disinterest, their flirting started growing on you quickly. Before you knew what was happening you were talking to them every day, even if you were at work, if they sent a text you’d stop in the middle of a sentence just to respond, so much so, that everyone in the office wondered who you could be talking to and bugged you about details on who the lucky guy was that managed to catch your attention.

Although you were assuring everyone that it was nothing and that you'd stop talking in days, you were cheesing at your phone with that love glow clear in your complexion. After no longer than seven months their flirting and consistency had broken you down, you just couldn't get enough of them and you couldn't get why. Unlike every other time you were in a relationship or situationship, you were missing out on company dinners and even prioritizing the amount of time you spent with them. Just as Jonghyun did Taemin hesitated and smiled at you shyly, his cheeks turning pink as he looked away from you and said: “You’d fall in love if you saw the way you looked at me too…” You could only sit baffled by their responses, “How can they both be so reckless?!” You sighed and smiled at them because even though you looked annoyed, you were actually swooning over the loving and wholesome looks in their eyes. “Well, that's very cute and super sweet,” You said as you crossed your legs under the table, “But no way is that why you both ignored me ignoring you.”

Their lack of response that day after you said that made it clear that they were serious, you couldn't deny it anymore after that. The two hopeless romantics had fallen in love at first sight and there was no getting away from them, no matter how much you pretended to be annoyed by them or their flirting. Especially since you were starting to fall so quickly for them both, while part of you fought with yourself for being interested in two men at once and for being so careless and ignoring your policy about dating idols, every other part was buzzing with joy with every text, call, and date. Things were going so perfectly too since they had never once tried to make a move on you, so you didn't feel like they were just two strange K-pop idols who wanted to try their luck with a black woman. But even after all the time you were spending together, neither of them had taken the next step and asked you to be their girlfriend, you didn’t want to be too upset about it but with an upcoming business trip that would last for six months, you wanted to leave on a high and come back to your two favorite boys smothering you even more than they usually would.

You had a month to prepare for the trip and you spent every day after work with them, every chance they got to make it official they seemed to miss or hesitate and you were starting to worry that they might never try making it official, so after work when Jonghyun picked you up you finally told him about the trip and decided to tell Taemin when you got to his house since you were already on your way there.

“Six months? How far are you going?” He asked, you sighed and leaned back against the leather seat with your legs crossed underneath the blanket he had thrown over you, “I'll be in America.” You said, for a quick second he glanced at you as he processed what you had said. His reaction was exactly what you were expecting, “Why didn't you tell us sooner?! What are we supposed to do while you're gone?!” The worry in his voice felt oddly warm, you weren't used to it, but it felt nice to see him get upset about it. After explaining that you'd be able to talk to them every day Jonghyun could only sigh and complain about missing you already. When you finally got to Taemin’s house Jonghyun immediately dropped his composure and told Taemin that you were trying to leave them. As Taemin walked around the counter with a shocked expression he asked the same thing that Jonghyun did; “Why didn't you tell us sooner?! What are we supposed to do while you're gone?!” Again, that panicked reaction made you smile, that strange warm feeling in your stomach as they both stood in front of you asking you a million and one questions made you secretly swoon.

“I guess we have no choice…” Jonghyun said, Taemin sighed and looked at him as if he were asking if he was sure or not, to which Jonghyun nodded with a disappointed expression on his face. “What is it?” You asked getting curious. Taemin said nothing and went into the living area, while Jonghyun stood in front of you and held your hands lovingly. “We wanted to wait till next month to do this because we weren't sure if it was too soon to ask or not.” Your hands began to sweat, the way he looked into your eyes made your knees feel weak and your heart started to pound. “Are they finally gonna ask?” You fought back a smile as you feigned an annoyed expression and raised your eyebrows, “What? You gonna ask if I'll finally say yes to going to breakfast with you?” You asked jokingly to soothe your anxious feelings, but Jonghyun’s gentle and nervous smile didn't help you fight the nerves at all, in fact, it only made it worse since he's usually so relaxed around you, this sudden 180 was making you anticipate even more what might they ask.

You laughed as he handed them to you with an uneasy expression on his red face, “It's been some years since we've done something like this…so we didn't know how to do it,” Taemin said as he stood beside Jonghyun. It was 6 in the morning, time to wake up before the others just to get the food ready for the little campers. I woke up alongside Jinki and Jonghyun, seeming like they had a rough night.

“Morning hun… how did you sleep?” Jonghyun smiled back at me. His eyes seemed half awake, he had a blank expression for a moment before reacting to my comment.

“It was alright… I’d rather sleep in my bed than this…” Jinki stood up afterwards, going towards the shower room. We followed each other, removing our clothes before stepping onto the wet floor and turning on the shower head.

One kid stood up and began thinking of something to say. “Change seats if… you play football!” About 5 guys switched, and one stood back up. “Change seats if…” He paused, possibly thinking about something that hadn’t been said. “…who has an iPhone?” I immediately stood up with Jinki, in which he was brought to stand in the front.

“Stand up if you ate a cheese sandwich today!” Jinki alerted a sleepy Taemin, causing him to be the last to find a seat and have to stand in the front. He seemed shy, and unsure what to say. Everyone started to wait for him to call out anyone indirectly, but it turned out that he was nervous… almost like a stage fright feeling.

Feeling bad for him, I stood up to ask if he was alright. He gave a thumbs up as a sign for me to sit back down. I wasn’t sure what he was thinking, but I knew he had stage fright from the way his face looked, which was exactly how I felt as a kid when I was forced to go on stage at my school.

“U-uh… switch seats if… y-you have a birthmark…” He was pretty quiet, but I was able to just about hear him, so I repeated what he said.

“Taemin said, switch seats if you have a birthmark!” Only 3 people stood up and luckily he managed to sit back down to mind his own business.

We made sure that everyone was close to each other, going up the hills and going past the same path that we’d been through for 20 minutes straight.

We eventually reached a river, in which we divided into 3 so we had 1 adult for every 10 kids. I managed to be in the same boat with Taemin, having him sit next to me while the others sat in twos.

“Hey Y/N… I need to say something serious…” Taemin has spoken to me in an almost whisper voice.

“Hey, Taemin! What is it that you wanted to tell me?” I said in a rather cheerful voice. I knew I couldn’t break character, so I assumed that it was something light-hearted.

“Um… I think I’ve been abused in the other camp…” I felt my stomach drop so fast. Obviously, I couldn’t show the other kids that I was feeling upset, so I slightly dimmed my smile, demanding he tell me more when we went back to camp.

We finally reached the other side, everyone got out of the boat safely. We waited for the others, in which we reunited with Jinki, Jonghyun and the other 20 kids.

“Ah hey! How was the boat ride!” Jonghyun spoke to Taemin, but it seemed like he didn’t want to speak to anyone right now. I don’t know what he was thinking of, but I could assume that he might’ve had a flashback moment.

Or maybe… maybe he was upset with me…?

Did I sound rude or insensitive? I hope I didn’t come off like that.

We eventually went back to camp, with the kids looking forward to lunch. As soon as it came to 12:30 pm, everyone was lined up for lunch, with the dinner ladies pouring macaroni and cheese into a bowl.

Pouring each portion into each person’s trays, we finally reached the front of the line. We were given just about what we needed so we could sit down and start our lunch break.

“Not gonna lie, this camp thing is super difficult…” Jinki sighed, looking back at Jonghyun. “I want to go home…”

LMAOO when I was picking up my package today I didn’t know what the second package was but I was hope it was the album. When i was unboxing it while walking back to my dorm I saw it was the album. No but it’s kinda crazy the realization hit hard that I waited over 7+ years to own his op 1 & 2 and she is albums. ( I already have base and poet. I also want his Skelton flower book to.. but that’s for another day. ) that when it was right in front of me and in my hands it didn’t feel real.

so to celebrate getting his op 2. Album I shall list things that I loved album the album other than the actual music itself.

1. I love the fact that he based the songs off of stories from listeners of blue night ( his radio show )

2. I love the general aesthetic of the album. it’s very minimalist and clean vibes. It gives off a gloomy ocean vibe which I love. The CD has a picture of the ocean waves on it. I find the ocean very calming and this album is also calming so I feel like it compliments the album even more

3. I love that jonghyun likes adding CD only songs like fortune cookie and where you at. Nowadays buying CD’s is less common. People focus on streams. So having CD only songs is another way to compel fans to buy the CD and support the artist while at the same time it’s away for artist to give back to fans.

4. I love the way that album gives a detailed description of what genres are featured in the album. my version of the album is the Taiwan version. I bought it new as well — so the description was in Chineses rather than Korean. It was a bit hard to translate but what I got from it was that they mentioned the different genres in each given song and what the song was about.

5. I love the fact that music in the album was recorded featuring different instruments. He credited all the musicians who played in his songs throughout the album which was refreshing to see.

6. I love the fact that in the description they mentioned songs that jonghyun had produced for different artists. etc lee hi’s breath, lim Kim’s no more, IU’s gloomy clock and exo’s playboy.

7. I love how the songs are categorize by story . I don’t have the album in front of me but in the able it has a section in Korean saying “op2. Story 1..” and then it would listen the songs for that story. For example: story one was lonely and 1000. This was very creative, and I’ve never seen an artist do something like this before. It allows you to look at the album in a new light. Some songs I’d look at the lyrics separately now I can’t help but look at them a whole try to unpack the full story.

8. I love the photoshoot! I’m a huge fan of the beach. It’s always been a comfort place. Seeing so many beach pictures in the album was so soothing to my mind. this album photos show a sense of comfort as well as mix of struggle. Which is what life is.

9. I love the fact that the songs are so diverse in the album. we see different genres like R&B, jazz, pop etc. You can tell jonghyun put effort with each songs. Every sound was deliberate. For example in our season— the song takes place in winter where he sings about how winter is less cold because his lover is with him. We hear winter bell chimes through out the song setting the mood.

10. Lastly, although most songs on the album are inspired by blue night it is clear that he put aspects of himself in the songs which I love.

His lyrics are always spine chilling Prehaps because of his relatable his lyrics are or just because of the way he beautiful words each lyrics. I’m just really greatful that I can say I own one of my favorite albums now. My jonghyun albums are one of my most prized possessions and I don’t think I could ever give it up. Jonghyun had helped me through a lot of dark times even now. I hope one day I’ll be able to have all of his albums including his book. As for right now, I’ll obsess over this op 2. Album.

Jonghyun nods approvingly, watching Taemin take his bite, a tiny, sampling nibble that he chews for far too long in an exaggerated show of savoring the flavor. Then, he glances over Taemin’s shoulder and catches Kibum’s eye. Surprise registers on his face, but only for a moment before it's replaced with a knowing smirk. 

He turns that devilish smile to Taemin and ticks his eyebrows up and down once, flicks his eyes to Kibum and back. Taemin glances back for just a second at that signal and when he turns back, Kibum sees the beginnings of a smile to mirror Jonghyun’s. 

“But you really can't get a real flavor profile of the sauce with the burger in the way, can you?” Jonghyun asks Taemin. His tone is mild, conversational, as he picks up his little cube of barbecue sauce and brings it to his mouth. His eyes slide over to Kibum again and lock with his, a challenging, almost aggressive demand for eye contact as he just knocks back the whole thing of barbecue sauce like a shot.
