I feel so bad for not really watching all of Venture Bros until now. It’s such a joy. It’s also been around since forever so to see it’s style of humor go from bro-y type sex and violence for the sake of sex and violence is cool cuz the characters AND show have grown out of that style come season 4.
It’s actually complex, genuinely ridiculous, and sweet and it’s got some of the best balance of morally bankrupt characters ever - making you feel and care for people who are toxic as fugg but never making them out to be in the right - and punishing them for that as well.
By the way, youtube comment sections, what’s with all the hate towards J.J? I’ve seen all the episodes with him and I don’t get where this “he’s just as bad as Jonas”-vibe’s coming from. J.J’s an example of what I mean when this show is ridiculous but sweet as he’s a villain in his first true appearance but quickly becomes the closest thing the series has to a real hero. His biggest crime is being egotistical in his endeavors; all of that’s small potatoes compared to what Rusty and Jonas Sr. was.
As someone who felt sorry for Prof Impossible despite all the things he did, can I just say, there better NOT be any RontheDeathEater-ing here in this fandom just because J.J. stole the man’s (emotionally abused) wife - J.J. was the better pick for Sally. End of story.
