Sooo instead of having Jonah be with who he actually belongs and should be in love with and clearly backed up by Chava’s speech of what it means to truly love someone (and it’s exactly what he did) they really forced this random and pointless ass relationship with Clara instead..?? Yeah ok

Can you do a “Karen McManus’ ships and what Rick Riordan ship they radiate?”
Bronwyn & Nate: Percy & Annabeth
Friends since childhood? Going through traumatic stuff together? Parents who disapprove? Falling into hell/shielding from a bomb??? This is all very similar stuff.
Cooper & Kris: Piper & Shel (it's Shel right?)
Piper was in the perfect relationship with Jason because she felt she had to be, but she broke it off because it wasn't working for her, and she's happy with Shel (it is Shel right???) and Cooper is happy with Kris, even though he was with Keely for a while.
Maeve & Luis: Will & Nico
Maeve's very nonchalant about how she feels, and she constantly takes on too much, ignoring her health. And Luis is just trailing after her like "hey chill relax focus on yourself" and that's very Nico/Will. Also, cooking and healing are two sides of the same coin.
Addy & Keely: Magnus & Alex
They were friends with romantic undertones for the longest time, and Magnus and Alex weren't canon until the ending of the series, and Addy and Keely aren't canon yet, but they have the same vibes
Phoebe & Knox: Leo and Calypso
Leo thought that he wasn't enough for Calypso because she was out of his league, but Cal adores Leo because he's the only one who treats her like an equal and respects her, and it's the same way with Knox and Phoebe.
Ellery & Malcolm: Tyson and Ella
Tyson adores Ella, and Ella's incredibly smart and their entire dynamic is Tyson following Ella around because he adores her and thinks she's smart and that's also very Ellery-and-Malcolm-like.
Jonah & Milly: Ciara & Damien
It's the constant bickering for me. Like, sometimes it hard to tell if they even like each other since they spend all their time arguing, like Jonah and Milly (both couples didn't even like each other to begin with) but they also love each other so much.

Loved Karen M. McManus’ “The Cousins”!!! :D I love her “One of Us is Lying” series and finally got to read one of her standalones and it was another great mystery/thriller. She’s always based her books off of 80s/90s movies and shows and with this it was the full 80s soap opera like any of the daytime ones (including my last soap on “The Young and the Restless”) and primetime ones like the original “Dynasty” or “Dallas”. There also were some “Karate Kid/Cobra Kai” shoutouts too with Archer and that too now focuses on multiple generations so it fits. I loved Milly, Jonah, and Aubrey and quiet a few of the supporting characters too. So many twists and amazed how Karen can keep us guessing. Can’t wait to read her other book “Two Can Keep a Secret” and her new book “You’ll be the Death” of me soon.
I can totally see this becoming a movie or miniseries (like how “One of Us is Lying” is) and decided to include my fancast of who I saw while I was reading.
Jessie Mei Li as Milly (The whole time I read I pictured Jessie as Milly. She’s just perfect for the role, trying to figure out what really happened to her mother and family all those years ago, her attraction to Jonah, sisterly bond with Aubrey, and her elegance as Alina on “Shadow and Bones” just fits.)
Tumblr media
Drew Starkey as Jonah (Was having a hard time picturing Jonah till season 2 of “Outer Banks” came out and Drew did such an amazing job and then reading Jonah he easily fit. With all the secrets Jonah has, his relationship with Milly and how he can’t really be with her because of his cover story, his brotherly love for Aubrey, and everything else that happens Drew would be a perfect choice and a character you actually root for and is a good guy.)
Tumblr media
Reylynn Caster as Aubrey (Sadly they’re no gifs but found a pic and Aubrey felt a lot like how Reylynn plays Faith Newman on “The Young and the Restless” and part of the Newman family who the Story family reminded me of. Also teaming up with her newly reunited family to figure out what exactly happened and all the issues with what her dad did.)
Tumblr media
Then I mentioned this in an earlier post but still convinced Karen did base Archer somewhat off of William Zabka and his 80s movie roles, especially Johnny Lawrence, so that’s how I saw Archer. For Allison Story I saw Amelia Heinle again with this book feeling like a version of “The Young and the Restless” and her playing Victoria Newman on there. Adam I saw as an older Mark Grossman who plays Victoria’s brother Adam Newman on the soap too (mixed with Lee Pace), which also made me see Abraham as Eric Braden who plays their dad Victor on “Y&R”. Then for Anders it was Tom Cavanagh (JT being a younger version of him), Mildred it was Jane Fonda, Hazel was Madison Bailey, Dr. Baxter was Danny Glover, Donald Camden was a mix of those classic white haired soap villains like Adam Chandler on “All my Children”, Ephram was Denny Love, Enzo was Ralph Macchio, Rob Valentine was Ron Garrison, and Teresa was Sorcha Cusack. Did have a hard time thinking of actors to play Kayla, Matt, and Oona but all the flashbacks of the original Story siblings would have to have scenes of them as teens too and actors who looks like the younger versions of the adult ones.

I'm so sorry TJ...
It's an on going joke that cyrus is done with hetero drama... BUT Tj actively tries to avoid it did you see how quick he was to leave that jandi drama and take his mans with him??
Imagine Jonah trying to pull TJ into his own hetero drama and accuse him of liking libby... he wouldn't even bother saying he doesn't know her! No he would pull the "I'M GAY AND LOVE I CYRUS" "card" so quick just to get out of that mess even if it means jumping into another non het mess.

Can't Lose You
Pairing: Jonah Heidelbaum x Reader
Premise: Y/N confronts Jonah about the Hunt.
Masterlist
requested by: @fanfictionedagain
CONTENT WARNING: Mentions of death, murder, N@zis, and trauma.
word count: 1,041
A/N: So I'm not *great* at writing angst because I'm terrified of conflict myself, but I tried XD Hope you enjoy it :)
Jonah was finally home for the first time since Meyer's death, grateful to finally get some peace to himself. Unfortunately for the Nazi Hunter, that peace didn’t last long when he heard an aggressive knock at the front door. "What the fuck does Millie want now?"
He stepped away from the Crock-Pot, and open the front door to find a very angry Y/N glaring up at him. "What the hell, Jonah?”
"Wait, what?" Jonah stood at the door, shocked to see his partner at the door. They usually called beforehand to let him know they were coming over. "Y/N, what are you doing here?"
"Fucking Nazis, Jonah?" they whisper-shouted. That prompted the boy to step aside and let Y/N in the house, trying to figure out a way to explain.
The first thing that Y/N noticed was the smell of Chicken Noodle, calming them down a bit. Ruth had always been good to them, and Y/N considered her soup their go-to comfort food. The old woman was missed, and the sudden wave of sadness fed into the anger they were feeling towards Jonah. "How could you get yourself involved with Nazis? Jonah, that's extremely dangerous-"
"I know."
"You could get hurt!"
"I know."
"Or worse, they could kill you!"
"I know."
"I can't lose you," at those words, they broke down crying. Noticing their knees buckle, Jonah rushed to them as they sank to the floor. He held them as they bawled, thinking about the weight of their words. Y/N felt the same pain Jonah had when they lost Ruth and Arthur. They had imagined Jonah being the next person murdered, especially with clear evidence someone was after him. He knew exactly what they were feeling.
A feeling of guilt bubbled inside Jonah. He had cried himself to sleep a few times at the thought of Y/N's body in a casket. That fear caused him to push them away more than he did with Carol and Cheeks. He understood why they were so angry with him and now felt angry with himself for lying to her. After Booty died… Jonah wouldn't be able to live with himself if anything happened to anyone else he cared about.
After a few minutes passed, the sobs turned into shaky breaths and a section of Jonah's shirt was soaked. "How much did Cheeks tell you?"
"Only…" they trailed off, trying to remember how to properly breathe. Y/N took a deep breath and wiped the tears from their face before continuing. "Only the gist of it."
Relieved, Jonah untangled himself from Y/N and stood up. He held out his hand, and Y/N begrudgingly took it before getting up as well. Jonah led them to the living room and pulled Y/N into his arms once they sat on the couch. He tried to ignore how they tensed at his touch and tried to break the ice with an apology. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I was trying to protect you."
"I can handle myself," they argued, their tone bitter.
"Just let me explain," Jonah said. "Without interruptions. It's hard enough to talk about."
While Y/N didn’t respond verbally, they did physically. Jonah took them relaxing a bit in his arms as an invitation to continue. He took a deep breath and started with Meyer. How the old man waltz right into his life and brought him to The Hunt. How Meyer told Jonah that it was a mitzvah. The Hunt wasn't too pleased with his arrival to the team, arguing that Ruth didn’t want him involved. All of them had gone against the idea of Jonah joining them.
He was both offended and angry at that moment. Harriet calling him a child, Roxy's comment about refusing to start a kindergarten, Joe's general attitude towards the 19-year-old, Mindy and Murray's worry and concern, and Lonny's initial annoyance. All of it bothered him more than it should. Jonah had been underestimated his whole life, and being seen as a burden by a group of strangers hadn't helped at all. He was desperate to prove himself. Had to show them that he was a vital asset to the team. However, once he watched them torture Karl Holstedder, he ran.
He had distanced himself from the Hunt for a day before Booty was killed, and in that moment Jonah knew he had nowhere else to go but Meyer's. When he saw his best friend dead on the floor of Babel Comics, the boy couldn’t bear to see that happen again. He had to distance himself for Carol, for Cheeks, and for Y/N.
"So Meyer turned out to be the Wolf?" Y/N clarified, shifting so they could look at Jonah. Their attitude completely changed towards their partner. Jonah was broken and traumatized. They wanted to be there for him, but they weren't sure how.
"And now Joe's missing," he sighed. "We're travelling to Europe next week to begin the next phase of our plan, so I won't see you for a while."
"I want to come with you," they insisted. He needed someone to anchor him to the light. "Let me join the Hunt."
Jonah was silent for a minute, looking at his determined and stubborn partner. He gave them a small smile and chuckled, cupping their cheek. "Well… Harriet claims that relationships are a weakness. It wouldn't hurt to prove her wrong."
He pressed his lips to theirs and placed his free arm on their waist. Weeks of tension and worry between the two fueled the kiss, causing the space between them to grow smaller with every second. At some point Y/N ended up straddling Jonah, the two barely noticing. They were too focused on each other, trying to fulfill the other's needs while attempting to keep it fairly PG as they were right next to the window.
As the makeout session was about to escalate further, the Crock-Pot beeped to let them know that the soup was ready. "We don't have to eat it now. It'll be fine to sit for another hour."
"It's about time to eat, though," Y/N stated, noticing the sun setting.
"Stay the night, then?" Jonah kissed Y/N softly.
"Absolutely."

Sirius x Jonah “ The Love Accords”
Smut n Fluff: Sirius Oswald; Jonah Clemence
M/M WC: 2,095
Ikemen Revolution Fanfic
• ·  .  ·  ´  `  · . ·•· . · ´ ` · . ·•· . · ´ ` · . ·•· . ·  ´  `  ·  .  · • Jonah admired many things about the opposing Queen. His hidden dedications, how well he decelerated tense situations, and the way he treated Luka with care as if he were his own brother. These qualities always stuck out to the Red Queen but only when he found Sirius alone at the tavern one night, did he ever mention it. Sirius offered to meet him in the tavern every so often to chat. Luka would always come up as well as inquiries of their personal life. Over time they learned enough of one another to bring custom gifts. Jonah felt himself blush handing Sirius a packet of hybrid rose seeds, breed to grow a deep shade of purple. Sirius learned how to make Millie frillie the right way from Luka. He added extra strawberries and boxed up the cake to gift the younger man. Both danced around flirtatious touched and joking comments about people thinking they were dating. But, Sirius soon realized that he didn’t actually care if anyone mistook them as a couple, in fact, he got excited when they did. The only evening that seemed to change everything was the night the Black Queen drank slightly too much liquor for his body to handle. Jonah helped the taller man to a room at the tavern with the barkeep's extra leverage. Worry overtook the Red Queen, bringing extra water and some bready snacks to put by his bedside. Ultimately, Jonah decided to stay with him until he knew he would be okay. That morning Sirius woke up to Jonah sleeping in the most uncomfortable position on the couch. After knocking back some water he staggered over to the younger man, helping him to his feet. In a groggy haze, Jonah was walked over to the bed, plopping down onto the warm covers. Sirius slid in next to him, and the pair of them slept the rest of the night comfortably. That was when it all changed, however, neither of them brought it up for a while after that. Jonah became easily bashful of things Sirius would tease him about, and Sirius would stand up for Jonah any time someone tried to tease him. Gentle touches were shared and soon when Sirius met up with Jonah at the light festival. Under the bridge of shimmering colors and multitudes of small bulbs lighting the pathway, the older man took ahold of Jonah’s cheeks, eagerly kissing him. The light kiss seemed to ask a silent question to Jonah, asking if the young queen shared his feelings. Jonah let the kiss linger without pressing back, not until Sirius pulled away ready to apologize for the suddenness of it all, did Jonah grab his collar and pull the taller man into a deeper more passionate kiss. From then on, their meetups were called dates, and their hands always found one another in private. Neither of the men were ones for public displays of affection, so the concern of the two opposing army queens being seen in a compromising position was low. Tonight, Sirius was nervous as he waited patiently at the bar tavern for his lover. He ordered a large pot of tea and an appetizer to tide him over. Sirius had gotten there a bit too early, ordering a room at the tavern to leave his overnight bag in while they ate their meal. Jonah was surely late due to the number of items he probably tired of stuffing into a singular bag. A smile touched Sirius’ lips at the thought of the younger man dragging around the hefty load of clothes just for a single night out. He was able to get through one cup of tea before he spotted the man's mint hair through the growing dinner crowd. Low and behold, he was dragging a rather large rucksack that looked dreadfully heavy. Sirius leaped up from his chair to greet him, make fun of him, or help him, he was waiting to decide. Jonah saw him and dropped the luggage. “Sirius,” His golden eyes lit up, drinking in the sight of him. Sirius sent him a sexy smirk. The urge to hug was too much, but they both refrained, standing inches from each other. The chatter in the restaurant became muffled in the Black Queen’s ear despite the establishment being packed. “I know you’re strong, so that must be one hell of a deadweight bag for you to be looking so exhausted right now.” Sirius’ hand itched to move up to cup his cheek, so he clenched it.  Instead, Jonah huffed, gesturing at the baggage. “It's not just clothing… It’s other products, and I don’t know what we had planned for tomorrow, so I packed a few different outfit choices.” Cutting his eyes to the side, he spotted the tavern owner. “Did you get the room already?” Sirius smiled wide, his heart filling as his boyfriend's cuteness overwhelmed him. “Ah, yeah.” He ran his hand through his hair then over his face to try to hide his smile. “C’mon, I will show you the way so we can eat dinner without having to worry about anyone tripping over your things.” “Thank you.” Jonah was blushing causing Sirius to squint. “Why are you flustered? I don’t think I’ve done anything worth being bashful over, yet.” Jonah huffed as if the other Queen should already know why he was so sheepish. Fixing a piece of his hair back into place he cut his eyes to the side. “You mentioned us staying together is all. Anyway,” He perked up, walking a few steps to leave his bag behind. “Why don't you carry my bag and show me the way.”
Sirius shook his head, grabbing that straps of the massive monstrosity of a bag and lead the way to their room. Up the wooden stairs and to the right were all the smaller rooms. This time Sirius veered left towards the more expensive custom rooms that were large enough to be an entire apartment home. Seeing this change in direction Jonah grinned. “Spoiling me, I see.” Sirius’ laugh was husky. With the drop off of the baggage inside the freshly cleaned bedroom and the slam of the door, Jonah wrapped his arms around Sirius’ neck. “Woah, ah ha-” Sirius’ surprised laugh was then muffled by Jonah's firm lips. Unable to stop the kiss, both lovers held one another tight. Sirius finally wrapped his arm around Jonah's waist and pulled his body firmly against his heaving chest. Jonah’s hands wrapped tighter around Sirius’ neck. “Isn’t it obvious that I want you? Do I need to spell it out?” Jonah pouted, pressing his forehead to Sirius’ lips. Sirius grinned, pecking a kiss to his lover's skin before leaning down to his ear. His nose nuzzled the man’s mint hair, gently brushing the sensitive part of his neck. Jonah shuttered, yet lay farther into the older man’s arms. “We will miss our dinner reservations.” Sirius’ voice dripped seduction, scraping his teeth under Jonah’s ear. “I-” Jonah let out a groan when Sirius bit his earlobe. “I don’t care. When I first saw you in the dining area, I wanted to run at you and kiss you silly. Now that we’re alone, I can.” He back away, looking the older man in the eyes. Sirius’ sparking heliotrope eyes darkened as they narrowed to Jonah's first button. With a glance back up, Sirius pressed his lips firmly against the Red Queens in a desperate fashion. His hands came up, popping each button of his shirt before pushing the clean-pressed fabric off his toned shoulders. “Unbutton me, if you would,” Sirius asked in a husky tone. Jonah went to work on his buttons while Sirius shrugged off his jacket and loosened his tie. Sirius tossed off the accessory, letting it fall next to his jacket. With each button Jonah undid he pressed a firm kiss to his chest, a sigh left Sirius’ lips while his chest heaved at the contact. “You’re lips are so soft.” The older man commented while running his fingers thought Jonah's hair. His locks tousled, but Jonah paid no mind until he reached Sirius’ belly button. Lingering for a long moment, he decidedly began unbuckling Sirius’ belt. “Ah-” The Queen of spade sighed. “You’re so eager for me, Hm?” He meant it to sound like a question, but it came out like a longing plea. Jonah let the belt fall to the floor, then popped open the button of Sirius’ trousers, unzipping them abruptly. Jonah stood, eyeing his topless lover, drinking in his sold chest encase with soft, smooth skin. “Or are you just teasing me?” Sirius added, a mischievous grin on his face. Jonah sauntered over to the bed and took a seat. He patted the space next to him on the mattress and smiled wide. “Not a tease, just wanted a place more comfortable to ravage you.” Sirius squared his shoulders, moving over to Jonah. His muscles rippled when he walked, bicep flexing as he ran his fingers through his dark hair. The unbuttoned pants hung low on his hips revealing a distinct line that drew Jonah’s eye.  Biting his lips absently, Jonah’s hands came out to Sirius’ pants before he could sit. The fabric hit the floor, and Jonah let out a long sigh as Sirius stood bare-skinned in front of him. “Stand up.” At Sirius command, Jonah hopped up to his feet at once. Sirius sat down in his place adjusting his feet apart. He pointed to the floor and looked up at Jonah. “You were so eager to please before, why don’t you start now?” Despite the taunting grin on Sirius’ face, Jonah moved between his legs. Press the palms of his hands over the thighs of his lover, he knelt completely. Grabbing the base of his member, Jonah stroked a few times slowly before pressing a kiss to the tip. Jonah's lips encased the head of Sirius’ cock, taking him in slowly. The older man groaned as he started to lean back. He caught himself on his elbow and brought the other hand to Jonah's head. His digits tangled in the Queen of hearts hair. “God Jonah,” Sirius hissed when the man grazed his teeth over the shaft. His hand pushed harder on the back of Jonah’s head, making the younger man take his cock all the way to the back of his throat. Jonah took him all, then pulled back out. He then looked up at Sirius, brows knitted. “Is there something wrong?” Sirius was concerned, moving his hand to cup the younger cheek. “No, I just…” He trailed off. “I just want to make love to you, but I also want you to be, um…” He was quiet again, alerting Sirius to sit up straight. “I want to make love to you too.” He reassured the golden-eyed man. “What else were you saying?” His plumb eyes search his partners face. “You can be rough with me,” Jonah spoke in hushed tones. Sirius’ lips formed into a wordless O. He leaned down, cupping both of Jonah’s cheeks with a gentle gaze. “Anything you want, you can have it.” As he spoke, Sirius began to stroke Jonah's disheveled hair. He would meet his lover's request, asking along the way if he was okay. Taking the time to kiss him passionately letting him know how much he was loved. With Jonah writhing beneath him face down, Sirius would tug his hair as he sheathed himself into the Red Queen continuously. Both men were spent at the end of it all. Sirius was finally able to hold his lover in his arms as he wished to do the entire long week. The dinner crowd came and went as the men indulged in the others pleasure. As they lay naked by one another's side on the massive bed, Jonah snuggled into the opposing Queen’s neck. Sirius’ large hand ran through his messy mint locks, sweaty and tousled after their passionate display. The Black Queen panted still, catching his breath while they snuggled. “What about a nice hot shower?” Sirius’ voice, gruffer than earlier, sounded in Jonah’s ear. “Mm, Yes. That sounds nice. But, I think I may need more time to recoup.” “Nonsense. I will help you. I’ll even wash you if you're too weak. I don’t mind, and I’d love to take care of you…” Sirius yawned. “What about dinner?” Jonah whispered sheepishly, realizing they missed their reservation time. “It’s a tavern, and they are open until 2 AM. We have plenty of time to wash up and get changed.”
. . .
Thank you for the request @bangtanfangirlxx !!!
[I actually love this ship oh lorddddd]
I hope you don’t mind that I changed the prompt slightly. For prompts that are more complicated, I would wish to be compensated. All these fics take a lot of work, many hours of writing and editing, and I’m doing it all for free. I hope you understand! <3

[01:38:18] <Wackd> I am a sucker for fictional weddings [01:39:42] <Wackd> Hot damn what a cover. Jesus. I think that might be both every Marvel hero AND every FF villain up too this point
Tumblr media
[01:40:32] <maxwellelvis> And not just FF villains. [01:40:46] <Wackd> Yeah uh what's Red Skull doing there [01:40:50] <maxwellelvis> Executioner, Red Skull, Loki, Leader, Living Laser [01:41:01] <Wackd> Quicksilver is still a baddy at this point too I think [01:41:48] <maxwellelvis> Cobra, Grey Gargoyle, Mr. Hyde, Unicorn [01:41:49] <MousaThe14> Actually I think there was a strange tales around this time where Quicksilver and Scarlet witch go to the FF for help for being goof and Thing and Johnny muck it up by being jackasses [01:42:03] <maxwellelvis> I think this is after the Avengers shakeup [01:42:29] <maxwellelvis> Since Hawkeye seems to be shooting Grey Gargoyle, I think this is when he, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch became Avengers. [01:42:50] <MousaThe14> AH, the Kooky Quartet era then [01:43:00] <maxwellelvis> Black Knight seems to be on the cover, even if all I can see is his horse. [01:43:12] <Wackd> Reed and Sue Richards: Headliners on the Society Pages!
Tumblr media
[01:43:15] <Bocaj> Hahah black knight that crazy kook [01:43:22] <maxwellelvis> Mandarin's there too. [01:43:41] <maxwellelvis> The EVIL Black Knight, not the Avenger, to clarify [01:43:55] <maxwellelvis> They deliver the Bugle in Latveria? [01:44:36] <Wackd> Daily Press [01:44:43] <Wackd> Actually [01:44:45] <maxwellelvis> Whatever. [01:44:50] <Wackd> Oh man this is all fucking fantastic so far [01:44:59] <Wackd> Tony Stark in a fucking top hat [01:44:59] <maxwellelvis> Probably the only paper in New York Jameson doesn't own. [01:45:20] <Wackd> Patsy Walker trying to find Minnie the Model in the crowd [01:45:30] <Wackd> And Nick Fury thwarting the Puppet Master [01:45:37] <Wackd> All on the third page [01:45:54] <maxwellelvis> Whatever happened to Millie the Model anyways? [01:46:21] <Bocaj> She became a robot in secret wars [01:46:24] <maxwellelvis> I know Patsy became Hellcat and then the Leslie to She-Hulk's Ann. I think. [01:46:30] <Bocaj> Mill-E, the Model Citizen [01:46:43] <Wackd> The X-Men beat up the Mole Man and his goons [01:47:24] <maxwellelvis> The Moloids or the monsters? [01:47:34] <Wackd> Dr Strange poofing Red Ghost and his apes two another dimension--proooooobably a bit overkill [01:47:58] <Mukora> Wackd did you say it was fantastic and not realize the opportunity for a pun [01:48:01] <Bocaj> "Millie became part of the Marvel Universe with Fantastic Four Annual #3 (1965), which chronicled the wedding of Reed Richards and Susan Storm. Fellow humor-comic stars Patsy Walker and Hedy Wolfe, among the sidewalk crowd outside, talk about wanting to catch a glimpse of celebrity Millie, whom they've heard is on the guest list. Alex Ross depicted her at the ceremony when he revisited the wedding in the 1990s miniseries Marvels. [01:48:01] <Bocaj> She reappeared in the 1980s as an older character running her own modeling agency and minding her niece, the titular star of writer-artist Trina Robbins' Misty (Dec. 1985 – May 1986), from Marvel's children's-oriented Star Comics imprint. Millie has also appeared in the superhero comics The Defenders #65 (Nov. 1978); Dazzler #34 (Oct. 1985); The Sensational She-Hulk #60 (Feb. 1994); and in the kitschy flashback series The Age of the Sentry #3 (Jan. 2009). [01:48:01] <Bocaj> Millie starred alongside Patsy Walker and Mary Jane Watson in a 23-page story "Un-enchanted Evening", by writer Paul Tobin and artist Colleen Coover, in King-Size Spider-Man Summer Special #1 (Oct. 2008). Millie stars in the four-issue miniseries Models, Inc. (Oct. 2009 – Jan. 2010)." [01:48:19] <Bocaj> So she's been around [01:49:50] <maxwellelvis> Hedy Wolfe's probably the real Where Are They Now [01:50:41] <Bocaj> She appeared in the Hellcat book [01:50:45] <Bocaj> Not so long ago [01:50:53] <maxwellelvis> Ah. [01:51:51] <Bocaj> http://geeksout.org/sites/default/files/blog-images/FullSizeRender.jpg [01:52:01] <Bocaj> "I WAS DEAD AND IN HELL, DANGIT" [01:54:49] <Wackd> Mandarin! Black Knight! Amazing Android! Gargoyle! Super-Skrull! Uh...whoever this guy is!
Tumblr media
[01:54:51] <MousaThe14> From my signed volume 1. Hellcat by Kate Leth is fun. [01:54:58] <Bocaj> ye [01:55:10] <maxwellelvis> That's Kang [01:55:30] <MousaThe14> Kang the Creeper [01:55:43] <Bocaj> They got Kang's colors wrong [01:55:43] <maxwellelvis> Kang the Nice Guy from the years 4000. [01:57:16] <Wackd> Daredevil fighting HYDRA! Thor fighting Super Skrull! [01:57:40] <Wackd> Captain America fighting Cobra! [01:58:02] <Wackd> And Executioner! And Sorcerer! [01:58:11] <Wackd> Hawkeye fighting Mr. Hyde! [02:05:52] <Wackd> AND THE MAN IN THE BACK SAID "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE" AND IT TURNED INTO A BALLROOM BLITZ
Tumblr media
[02:06:09] <MousaThe14> The relationship was made up in the Netflix show [02:07:57] <maxwellelvis> Hey Wackd, who's that guy in the corner poking his head in like, "I'm here too!" [02:08:05] <Bocaj> I had to ask the artist to adjust the colors [02:08:32] <Wackd> Max: I have no idea [02:09:05] <maxwellelvis> wackd: Figured. [02:09:37] <maxwellelvis> And man oh man, Black Knight's day is not going well. [02:09:42] <Wackd> Oh my fucking god Watcher [02:09:55] <maxwellelvis> He got punched off his horse and by a guy nowhere near him. [02:10:21] <Wackd> "I thought you were forbidden to interfere!" "Yeah, but I'm allowed to invite you back to my place. And if you happen to steal one of my glorious machines, I can't interfere, wink wink" [02:14:32] <Wackd> The moment we've all been waiting for is at hand!
Tumblr media
[02:14:46] <maxwellelvis> YAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! [02:16:01] <Mukora> Did they even show the actual wedding? [02:16:06] <Wackd> For like [02:16:08] <Wackd> One panel [02:16:10] <maxwellelvis> Yes, but wackd skipped over it. [02:16:13] <Wackd> Kinda disappointing [02:16:58] <maxwellelvis> Dr. Doom sent every villain ever after them, they brawled, Uatu bailed them out, Reed flushed all the villains down a giant space toilet, they say "I Do", Stan and Jack fail to gatecrash, the end. [02:17:20] <MousaThe14> Poor Stan and Jack, can't even attend the wedding [02:17:44] <MousaThe14> That is one of few things the Silver Surfer movie got right [02:17:59] <MousaThe14> Shame Jack wasn't alive for it. [02:18:18] <Mukora> Meh screw em [02:19:06] <Wackd> Behold, the entire damn wedding
Tumblr media
[02:20:02] <Wackd> I mean Jack was pretty alright by most accounts [02:20:16] <maxwellelvis> You know, at first I was hoping it was just that one panel, but no, Gabe is grey for some reason. [02:22:00] <Mukora> Man they really could not draw more than one face huh [02:22:41] <maxwellelvis> That is one weakness Kirby had that Ditko did not. [02:22:52] <Mukora> "No mere words of ours can truly describe the tenderness of this moment!" pfft alright guys. Sure. [02:23:08] <maxwellelvis> I think to differentiate people, Jack mostly used hats. [02:23:24] <maxwellelvis> The sillier a Kirby character's hat, the more important they are. [02:23:27] <Wackd> I mean Jack was very good at drawing different faces when it came to villains [02:23:46] <Wackd> Mole Man, Puppet Master, Diablo all have distinctive looks under his pen [02:23:51] <maxwellelvis> And in something like Thor, he could really cut loose. [02:24:07] <Wackd> But heroes have to be handsome, so [02:24:23] <Wackd> Probably why the Thing was created--Jack wanted to draw monsters, dang it [02:24:32] <maxwellelvis> And he always drew Spider-Man too big. [02:24:49] <maxwellelvis> Example about the hats thing Thor's hat https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/90/d2/22/90d22242273e554560f7776e1c2a0316.jpg [02:24:59] <maxwellelvis> Odin's hat http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-z87hSxgIJFg/TyeJOxm5c9I/AAAAAAAAMGY/vPzUuvEoYRA/s1600/Thor+158-18.jpg [02:25:17] <Mukora> Christ [02:25:27] <Wackd> Galactus's hat really takes the cake [02:25:27] <maxwellelvis> That's a nice hat. [02:27:24] <maxwellelvis> http://mindlessones.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/modok-2.jpg Modok's hat is his chair. [02:27:27] <Mukora> That's a hat I can really see myself in [02:27:49] <Mukora> Man I just don't get it [02:28:10] <Mukora> You have clear skill and yet you REALLY can't give your heroes more than one face? [02:28:47] <maxwellelvis> https://longboxgraveyard.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/steve-ditko-amazing-spider-man-241.png?w=604 He's no Steve Ditko in that department. [02:29:07] <maxwellelvis> https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/96/c3/ef/96c3ef55b1a3fd5524352709aa6fa572.jpg [02:29:14] <maxwellelvis> https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/9e/d2/0f/9ed20fa5b538f153c9518563256a4487.jpg [02:29:31] <maxwellelvis> https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/db/2b/c6/db2bc6e07513e72840cc5eab936e7d31.jpg I especially love Ditko's J. Jonah. [02:29:57] <maxwellelvis> https://longboxgraveyard.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/steve-ditko-amazing-spider-man-191.png Especially here. [02:31:42] <maxwellelvis> And yet, the ironic thing about Ditko? Two of the most iconic heroes he created? Are Spider-Man and the Question. [02:31:48] <maxwellelvis> Guys who don't really have faces. [02:33:45] <Mukora> I mean no comic character has a face. Literally fucking non on cares enough to actually give characters in comics distinct easily recognizable faces outside of their costumes [02:36:09] <Wackd> If I owned Marvel my first order of business would be to get all the artists to sit down together and figure out who looks what way [02:36:16] <Wackd> Settle the issue once and for all [03:19:56] <Mukora> Wait [03:20:03] <Mukora> Has Dr. Doom ever shown up [03:20:12] <Mukora> And made someone say "we're doomed?" [03:21:20] <Wackd> He has to have, right? [03:21:38] <Mukora> HE HAS TO HAVE

25 best TV shows of the year, from ‘Fleabag’ to ‘Pose’
CLOSE
Tumblr media
After 2019, TV will never be the same.
This year, TV got bigger than we ever could have imagined back when there were only three channels. Over 500 scripted series premiered new episodes, two major new streaming services (Apple TV+ and Disney+) debuted, “Star Wars” and Meryl Streep came to TV and “Game of Thrones” ended with massive ratings but disappointed fans. And yet we still are mostly talking about where we’ll be able to easily access reruns of “Friends.”
But there were some really fantastic TV series we hope some of you managed to watch between all the Twitter reactions and marathons of Disney animated movies. And spoiler alert: “Thrones” and its terrible ending didn’t make the cut.
You still have plenty of time before New Year’s Day to catch up on USA TODAY’s top 25 series of 2019.
Tumblr media
Joe (Penn Badgley) stalks a new woman (Victoria Pedretti) in “You” Season 2. (Photo: Tyler Golden/Netflix)
25. ‘You’ (Netflix)
The soapy thriller starring Penn Badgley was a pleasant surprise in its original home on Lifetime, and became a sensation once it moved to Netflix, which will stream its second season Dec. 26. The second outing with self-aggrandizing stalker (and murderer) Joe is just as addictive as the first, if a little repetitive. But of all the current series that traffic in bad men doing bad things, “You” remains one of the few that asks interesting questions about its bad guy.
24. ‘Evil’ (CBS)
Akin to “The X-Files” for religion – in which a psychologist, a priest-in-training and a tech expert investigate claims of miracles and demonic possessions – “Evil” is a hard sell on paper, but a surprisingly coherent and gripping series. Created by Robert and Michelle King (“The Good Wife” and “The Good Fight”), it is thought-provoking as an investigation of organized, institutional religion and as a source of thrilling horror stories about exorcisms and evildoers.
23. ‘Living With Yourself’ (Netflix)
Paul Rudd is one of Hollywood’s most charming (and ageless) actors, and he does welcome double duty in this dark comedy about a man who ends up with a clone that is significantly better at living his life. Full of existential angst and pratfalls, the series neatly balances comedy and drama. It’s also a great showcase for Irish actress Aisling Bea, who turns in a breakout performance that isn’t overshadowed by Rudd’s star power.
22. ‘Country Music’ (PBS)
Ken Burns rarely disappoints. The legendary filmmaker turned his lens on the history of a uniquely American music genre for this 18-part documentary that traced its roots and rise. It may have also changed some minds about what country music really is and who it is for.

21. ‘Stranger Things’ (Netflix)
After a disappointing and derivative second season, the ’80s-set supernatural series – Netflix’s most popular – returned with new episodes that took more risks and repeated fewer plot points. With the Soviets as new villains, new horror inspirations for the monsters and new relationships to explore – particularly the friendship between Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Max (Sadie Sink) – the series crafted a third season that was almost as captivating as its breakout first.
20. ‘Veronica Mars’ (Hulu)
In our current nostalgia-obsessed TV era, there are plenty of truly terrible reboots, remakes and revivals (“Fuller House”), but sometimes bringing back the original cast and creators years or even decades later results in good TV. The most successful attempt in recent years is “Veronica Mars,” the cult neo-noir series canceled by CW in 2003, revived in 2014 for a movie and brought back yet again for eight episodes by Hulu. Kristen Bell and creator Rob Thomas found a mystery worth Veronica’s talents, and room for the beloved-but-damaged detective to grow. Its shocker ending divided fans, but nothing about the new “Mars” felt cheap, forced or dated, and that’s a true achievement.
19. ‘A Black Lady Sketch Show’ (HBO)
If you missed this small but mighty new sketch comedy series in August, it’s worth catching up on all six episodes of the hilarious first season. Created by Robin Thede and produced by Issa Rae (“Insecure”), the series’ talented black women comedians excel in sketches that are unique to their experiences and universal in their humor.

18. ‘Pose’ (FX)
FX’s groundbreaking LGBTQ drama became bigger and more intimate in its excellent second season, homing in on its best characters while making its stories more ambitious, tragic and complex. The season was more focused and compelling than its promising first year, with especially strong performances from Emmy-winning Billy Porter as Pray Tell, Mj Rodriguez as Blanca and Indya Moore as Angel.
17. ‘Stumptown’ (ABC)
There is nothing particularly revolutionary about this procedural drama starring Cobie Smulders, but it stands out among the new network offerings this year because of the thoughtful and fresh way the writers make age-old detective stories. Smulders shines as Dex Parios, a deeply caring if not always smooth private investigator, and her performance elevates “Stumptown” beyond just-another-network-cop-show.
16. ‘The Good Fight’ (CBS All Access)
Despite getting a little more fantastical every year, CBS All Access’ “Good Wife” spinoff is still the drama that best captures the current sociopolitical era. Its third season, with the addition of Michael Sheen as a Roy Cohn-inspired lawyer, was a little wacky without getting too weird, with smart scripts and great performances, most notably from Christine Baranski and Audra MacDonald.
15. ‘The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance’ (Netflix)
This prequel to Jim Henson’s 1982 film manages to go above and beyond the beloved original. On aesthetics alone, the series is a huge achievement, but it also tells a fantasy story as lofty and politically complex as “Game of Thrones.” That “Crystal” manages to make fully-realized characters and plots through mesmerizing puppetry rounds out a superb epic.
Tumblr media
Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II on “The Crown.” (Photo: Sophie Mutevelian/Netflix)
14. ‘The Crown’ (Netflix)
God save the Queen, whoever happens to be playing her. Netflix’s British royals drama proved it can go deep into the reign of Queen Elizabeth II by successfully swapping its original cast for an older set of actors, including Oscar winner Olivia Colman in the lead role (previously played by Emmy winner Claire Foy). The third season has a few bumps, and struggles to make Elizabeth the center of her own story, but the addition of a young Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) and his romantic escapades makes up for Colman’s brief screen time.
13. ‘Superstore’ (NBC)
Like a cheap bottle of wine at Target, “Superstore” just gets better with age. NBC’s workplace comedy is smarter and funnier every season, and 2019 episodes represent the show at its peak. “Superstore” kept its stories and character dynamics fresh this year by promoting Amy (America Ferrera) to manager of the Cloud 9 big box store, changing her socioeconomic status in an instant and drastically altering her relationship with her co-workers, including boyfriend Jonah (Ben Feldman).
Tumblr media
Kayvan Novak as Nandor and Harvey Guillen as Guillermo on “What We Do in the Shadows.” (Photo: John P Johnson/FX)
12. ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ (FX)
Based on the cult 2014 film from Jemaine Clement (“Flight of the Conchords”) and Taika Waititi (who directed “Thor: Ragnarok” and “Jojo Rabbit”), “Shadows” is the funniest show this year, an outright bacchanalia of vampiric failures, energy draining and nerdy virgins. The comedy moves its focus from hapless vampires in New Zealand to an even more inept clan in Staten Island, New York, with lofty goals such as taking over the world via city council meetings.
11. ‘The Good Place’ (NBC)
The philosophical afterlife comedy hasn’t been quite as brilliant in its fourth and final season, but even at 85% strength, “Good Place” is still smarter and funnier than most shows on TV. Nailing an ending to a series that asks questions as big as this one does (what does it take to be a good person?) is always tricky, and most crucially the series is staying true to its delightful characters.
10. ‘Shrill’ (Hulu)
At last, “Saturday Night Live” standout Aidy Bryant has a starring role worthy of her talents in Hulu’s “Shrill.” The actress finds a quieter side of her comedy in this Portland, Oregon-set series based on writer and fat-acceptance activist Lindy West’s memoir. It marks the best portrayal of life as a plus-size woman on TV, neither patronizing nor unrealistic, and tells stories beyond its protagonist’s weight on a scale. With just six hilarious episodes, it’s one of the few TV series that would have excelled if it had expanded.
Tumblr media
Merritt Weaver, left, and Toni Collette play detectives who initially butt heads but learn to work together in Netflix miniseries “Unbelievable.” (Photo: Beth Dubber/Netflix)
9. ‘Unbelievable’ (Netflix)
True-crime stories can be many things: seedy, enthralling, vindicating, angering or satisfying. Based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning ProPublica article, “Unbelievable” is both infuriating and triumphant, highlighting the deep flaws in our criminal justice system while also celebrating the work of two genuinely heroic policewomen. With a stellar cast, “Unbelievable” tells the story of a rape victim (Kaitlyn Dever) who isn’t believed by police, and the two detectives (Toni Collette and Merritt Wever) who bring her attacker to justice years later – after he raped several more women.
8. ‘Undone’ (Amazon)
As deeply emotional and affecting as it is unsettling, Amazon’s animated series gets under your skin, in a good way. The series’ rotoscoping technique, in which animation is drawn over live footage, provides an eerie edge as it tells a magic-realist story of a stagnant 20-something woman (Rosa Salazar) who can travel in time and communicate with her dead father. But for every psychedelic trip Alma takes, she also takes a more grounded one as she tries to repair damaged relationships and plot her next course.
7. ‘Dead to Me’ (Netflix)
Christina Applegate gives her best performance in Netflix’s black comedy about a widow who unknowingly befriends the woman (the great Linda Cardellini) who killed her husband. Twisty but not gimmicky, “Dead” is addictive. The series has an abundance of acting talent, including James Marsden, who finally gets a role that takes the sheen off his perfect smile.
6. ‘Watchmen’ (HBO)
Although it started off a bit unsurely, HBO’s very loose adaptation of the graphic novel has blossomed into one of creator Damon Lindelof’s best series, and from the man behind “Lost” and “The Leftovers,” that’s some achievement. The series has a superb cast – including Regina King, Jean Smart, Jeremy Irons and Tim Blake Nelson – that elevates smart scripts that get better as the season progresses. Lindelof and his writers find surprising ways to bring the superhero story from the 1980s into today’s culture, helping “Watchmen” upend the comic book formula once again.

Asante Blackk in “When They See Us,” Ava DuVernay’s retelling of the Central Park Five. (Photo: NETFLIX)
5. ‘When They See Us’ (Netflix)
Ava DuVernay’s striking miniseries gives voice to the so-called Central Park Five, a group of five black and Latino youths wrongly convicted of assault in one of the biggest trials of the 1980s. With an extremely talented group of young actors as the falsely accused adolescents – Asante Blackk, Caleel Harris, Ethan Herisse, Emmy-winner Jharrel Jerome and Marquis Rodriguez – the series brings the story to the screen as a brutal, unrelenting tragedy.
4. ‘Back to Life’ (Showtime)
This British tragicomedy, starring and created by Daisy Haggard (“Episodes”), focuses on Miri, a woman who returns to her small seaside village after spending 18 years in prison for a crime that’s explained as the series progresses. Although Miri has left iron bars and jumpsuits behind, her small town is a prison of its own, where she is hated by all but her parents, her new boss and her kindly neighbor. Touching on themes of forgiveness and deception, the series is breathtaking in its emotional scope, despite the small story it tells over just six episodes.
3. ‘Chernobyl’ (HBO)
The brilliance of this historical miniseries, which chronicles the 1986 nuclear disaster at a power plant in Soviet Ukraine, creeps up on you as you watch its five episodes. Despite portraying so much death and despair, “Chernobyl” is never crass or exploitative, but rather it simply, anger-inducingly explains the failures and hubris that led to the disaster, and the people who tried to mitigate its consequences.
2. ‘Leaving Neverland’ (HBO)
Among 2019’s many true crime documentaries that made viewers question established media narratives and powerful people, this one – about two men who accused Michael Jackson of sexual abuse when they were children – stood out. Wade Robson and James Safechuck were given a platform to tell their harrowing stories, and director Dan Reed is unflinching as he captures the pain and suffering of the men and their families. Tough to watch, it’s also an eye-opening look at the lasting effects of abuse, and the way the media handles allegations against powerful men.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Fleabag in Amazon’s “Fleabag.” (Photo: Amazon)
1. ‘Fleabag’ (Amazon)
Could there be any other choice for No. 1? Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s dark comedy ran away with the 2019 Emmy Awards for good reason. Few series have ever been as emotionally affecting and brilliantly written as “Fleabag” in its second season. The story of a self-hating and self-destructive woman (Waller-Bridge) falling in love with a Catholic priest (Andrew Scott) was both a shocking sequel to the first and an exquisitely perfect ending to Fleabag’s tale. We’ll miss her dearly.

(CNN) Stan Lee, the colorful Marvel Comics patriarch who helped usher in a new era of superhero storytelling -- and saw his creations become a giant influence in the movie business -- has died. He was 95. Kirk Schneck, an attorney for Lee's daughter, tells CNN the comic giant was taken by ambulance from his Los Angeles home on Monday morning to Cedar's Sinai Medical Center, where he later died. The cause of death is not yet known, according to Schneck. Lee began his career at what was then Timely Comics in 1939. Over the years he was a writer, editor, and occasional illustrator. But, bored with the output, he was preparing to leave the company when history took a sudden turn. For many years, the business had been dominated by DC (then National) Comics, creators of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the Green Lantern. In the late '50s, DC started reimagining its heroes -- kicking off what comics historians call the "Silver Age" of the business -- but those figures were still, largely, otherworldly and two-dimensional, living in made-up places such as Metropolis and Gotham City. In the early '60s, Lee was asked to come up with a team of superheroes to compete against DC's Justice League. With the notable help of artists such as Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, he helped instigate a revolution, though Lee didn't see it that way at the time. "If my publisher hadn't said 'let's do superhero stories,' I'd probably still be doing 'A Kid Called Outlaw,' 'The Two-Gun Kid' or 'Millie the Model' or whatever I was doing at the time," he told CNN in 2013. Marvel revitalized the comics business with a series of flawed, more human superheroes. Its figures lived in the real world -- a few were based in New York City, with all its dirt and clamor -- and struggled with everyday challenges, whether it was paying the rent or wondering about their purposes in life. First came the Fantastic Four, a superhero team probably most famous for the grumpy, rock-skinned Thing. Following that success, Lee and Marvel introduced such characters as Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, the X-Men, and Daredevil. These new superheroes -- all created in a burst between 1961 and 1964 -- were hugely popular and allowed Marvel to surpass DC in both sales and fashionableness. Spider-Man, in particular, became the imprint's signature character: a neurotic photographer named Peter Parker who, after being bitten by a radioactive spider, develops spider-like powers. Parker was forever clashing with newspaper editor J. Jonah Jameson (an angry, cigar-chomping martinet who was no Perry White), wondering about his relationship with Mary Jane Watson and worrying about his fragile Aunt May. Crime fighting was the least of his concerns. "I never thought that Spider-Man would become the worldwide icon that he is. I just hoped the books would sell and I'd keep my job," Lee said in 2006. Many of the characters were developed for television with varying degrees of success. But it was the emergence of the "Marvel Universe" in the movies, especially with the "X-Men" franchise and the Sam Raimi-directed "Spider-Man" (2002), that truly made the brand ubiquitous. In 2009, the Walt Disney Company purchased Marvel Entertainment -- the licensing arm of the comic-book brand -- for $4 billion. By that point, Lee had long since become more of a company figurehead rather than a writer and editor in the day-to-day trenches. He became the company's editorial director and publisher in 1972 and eventually immersed himself in spreading the Marvel gospel (often with the exclamation, "Excelsior!") He's had bit parts in most of the films featuring the company's characters. He was occasionally criticized for egotistical cheerleading for himself as much as Marvel. "Stan the Brand," the authors of "Stan Lee and the Rise and Fall of the American Comic Book" called him, pointedly. It wasn't all joy for Lee. Though the success of the movies made the characters worth billions, Lee maintained that he saw little of that wealth. Even so, he saw more than artist Kirby, who many comics historians credit with molding a number of characters. Over the years, the credit for the characters -- and, therefore, the profits -- has been the subject of court cases, some involving Kirby or his family. https://adstoppi.com/blog/stan-lee,-marvel-comics-visionary,-dead-at-95 More blog here Via Adstoppi Blog : Blog Read more : Adstoppi
