lol I just remembered that even though Jo and Kiesh are about the same height, for some reason, Jo's significantly smaller here (either that or she's sitting on the edge of her seat lol)

everytime when i feel sadness, i remind myself about the existence of this screen and it makes me smile and giggle cause tony is so tiny compare to pete in bbl 1997

During one of my previous Backyard Baseball games, Jocinda hit a home run when Kiesha was watching her from second base. There's no way that wasn't coincidental. /hj

Time for a long list of random-ass Backyard Sports headcanons (part 1)

-When texting/typing, Gretchen types with no spaces, making it hard for the rest of the squad to understand her messages. (I guess you could say she types the way she talks. lol) She also sometimes sends these messages in massive quantities, which mildly annoys everyone in her group chat.

-Whenever Annie spots Lisa by herself, she will sit/stand next to her to keep her company. Lisa found it mildly annoying at first, but has slowly started warming up to Annie's presence. She even sometimes gives Annie a vegetarian-friendly snack that Lisa didn't want.

-Luanne eventually stopped carrying her teddy bear around everywhere and started keeping her teddy bear in her backpack that she frequently takes everywhere (even in sports). (This is based on a headcanon that I developed as a result of discovering the cast's redesigns.)

-On Saturdays, Kiesha will visit Jocinda and will often spend the night at her place. Usually, they have nights where they cook pizza, play video games, draw, and watch stupid videos on the internet or marathon whatever tv show Kiesha is into (Jocinda's not too picky when it comes to tv shows and watches them bc Kiesha likes them). Sometimes, Pablo (who I headcanon to be friends with both of them) will drop by and play video games with both of them.

-Ernie does stand up comedy at his squad's table during recess/half-time/etc. If he's on the same team as Kiesha, Kiesha joins in, and if Jocinda's on the same team as both of them, Kiesha will make jokes to specifically make Jo laugh. Usually, Jocinda tries to hide her laughter, but Kiesha can often tell Jojo likes her jokes.

-Despite being (headcanonical) rivals, Jocinda and Tony will OCCASIONALLY get along and talk about things like their crushes. But, usually, these two boastful kids just end up verbally fighting over who is a better athlete. lol

-Kimmy sometimes sins. What do I mean by that? Well... sometimes... SHE GIVES GRETCHEN CANDY... something that you should NEVER do in the universe of Backyard Sports. If you do that, the whole BYS universe will collapse /j (Just kidding. The worst that will happen is that Gretchen crashes.)

-Reese once left his retainer at the Delvecchio's by accident and Angela found it and gave it back to him. idk I literally just thought of this.

-Kiesha will use her light-up shoes as flashlights. One time, when Jocinda was visiting, the power went out. So, Kiesha improvised by stomping her feet to get her shoes to produce light. There was surprisingly a ton of light that her shoes produced. Despite this, she kept Jocinda near by in case they had to move around a ton in near pitch black darkness. (jfc sorry if this headcanon's wording is a little funny lol)

-Tony often has to repeat information that he told Pete because Pete has the memory of an elderly human (except, Pete is a tween).

idk why I put this much effort into a picture that is literally just cats eating fricking pizza, but I'm proud of myself (I think).

I was originally going to have just a window/slide-y glass door behind them, but, since it's the holiday season, I added in a lit up Christmas tree bc the space felt a little empty/incomplete. lol

idk why but I feel like Kiesha and Jocinda's stats in Baseball 1997 kind of compliment each other. (They're both "meh" at pitching though lol)

According to the game, Kiesha has good speed and decent fielding (not 100% great though)

And Jocinda has "meh" speed and better fielding stats

Granted, Kiesha's stats are still considered better, but I still sometimes think about this. The fact that some of their stats compliment each other.

This headcanon-esque idea just popped up in my head lol

When Jocinda and Kiesha are on the same team, Kiesha sometimes gets impatient with Jocinda's slow running speed (her run is more of a strut really /hj). So, when Jo hits a home run, sometimes Kiesha will just burst out of the dugout and carry Jo across the bases (although she sometimes gets in trouble for that bc the other team will think they're cheating lol).
