Get to You (Polnareff x Reader) Chapter Thirteen
You're a bright eyed and ambitious Anthropology student, just setting off for the international vacation of your dreams. Just days into your trip, however, you encounter a devious and charming man who would set into motion a string of events that would change your life forever, for better or for worse. ♡ word count - 1.3k ♡ warnings - some brief mentions of previous trauma/emotional abuse/manipulation/cheating ♡ notes - this is crossposted on ao3 under the same username as here. there are currently 14 chapters written and posted over there and i'm working on posting them here as well, but if you're interested in more i suggest checking there first since updates are far more frequent on there! i'd honestly completely forgot about posting on here, but thank you to everyone who has given it a read!! ♡ this fic follows the events of stardust crusaders with some changes obviously. enjoy!!!
You sauntered down the stairs and out the front door of the hotel, feeling that warm summer air drift over your skin. You took a sharp right, and headed to the corner store just a block over.
In truth, there wasn’t anything you desperately needed at the moment, besides a few things you’d like to have on hand that you couldn’t purchase when you were around the others. Not to mention, the first aid kit you meant to buy ages ago, but never got around to.
You couldn’t even stomach the thought of having to ask Polnareff again. But knowing your luck, if you didn’t get one right now you’d most certainly have to.
You spent a little while browsing the little shop. There really wasn’t much inside, but you were able to grab your essentials, and a little treat for later.
You checked the time, and knew there was no way Jotaro and Polnareff would be back yet, so once you were finished at your actual destination, you popped your head into the little boutique next door.
You had plenty of spending money on hand, seeing as all the pennies you saved for your trip had gone mostly untouched since joining the others. Money never was much in the equation, with all of your hotel stays and meals being taken care of by the old man.
The boutique was a rather chic little place, with tons of options and items to choose from. You were quickly approached by an employee, who was eager to assist you despite your insistence you were just browsing, not to mention the language barrier.
Although you normally weren’t one for a changing room outfit montage, you couldn’t help but enjoy having a genuine interaction with another woman for the first time in weeks, as the employee gave you item after item to try on. You hadn’t really noticed until now, but being surrounded by a constant stream of testosterone day in and day out was definitely taking its toll.
Eventually, you managed to convey to the sales associate that you had to get going, and feeling urged by the overwhelmingly pleasant experience you had, you picked out an item to buy.
It was a dark green, loosely knit bolero style shrug. Lightweight, practical, and most importantly, easy to carry. Although there were certainly many more things you wanted to bring along as well, your cross country desert excursion didn’t exactly allow for checked luggage.
You brought the sweater to the front of the store, setting it down on the counter as the employee scurried around to the other side, ringing you up and gushing about your decision, although most of it went over your head.
As you fished for your wallet, something glinted in the corner of your vision. You looked up to inspect it, and found an intricately carved silver heart pendant hanging on the end of an equally ornate chain.
You reached out and took it in your hand, admiring it from up close, and without thinking pulled it off of the display and added it to your purchase.
-
As you stepped out of the store, you silently cursed yourself for spending so much money. You did not need an expensive necklace for traversing through the desert with a bunch of men to defeat an evil vampire. You were distracted by it’s beauty, not thinking straight.
Maybe it was some retail therapy, you reasoned, trying to justify the silly purchase. As you leaned on the wall outside the shop, you tugged it out of the shopping bag and looked it over. As your fingers glided over its engraved surface, you noticed a seam running along the side.
You tugged on it a little more, and it popped open to reveal its empty insides.
It was a locket. You just spent all that money on a locket. What the hell were you even going to put inside?
You mentally kicked yourself again, but decided to just put the damn thing on and enjoy its beauty as is.
As you clasped the chain together and let your hair fall back over your shoulders, you heard commotion down the road a few blocks. Your eyes flicked upwards, drifting over the buildings until you could faintly make out the shapes of Polnareff and Jotaro a ways down the road, chaos unfurling around them.
Your eyes widened, before you shut them tight and shook your head, mentally preparing yourself for whatever you were going to find as you raced over to them.
As you drew nearer, Polnareff began swinging wildly at Jotaro, with the very sword he found earlier, now broken in half. Jotaro summoned Star Platinum, using his stand to block the incredibly quick strikes that Polnareff was throwing.
As you watched this unfold, you quickened your pace, in a near sprint to get to the two of them.
As you caught up to them, you screamed Polnareff’s name, materializing Vampire Money’s webs to wrap around the Frenchman’s arm, stopping his strike in mid air.
Polnareff turned to face you, eyes deep and dark with bloodlust, and a chill ran up your spine as you kept a firm grip on your webs.
”And what do you think you’re doing?” He asked, turning to face you. His voice was bone-chilling, unlike anything you’ve ever heard before.
”What am I doing?!” You shouted incredulously. “What the fuc-“ Before you could say more, Polnareff reached his other arm around and grabbed onto your bundle of webs, yanking them roughly and causing you to stumble. While you were distracted, he used his free hand to grab the blade from his restrained arm and brandished it, bringing it down in one fell swoop and slicing your makeshift handcuff.
You winced in pain, before regaining your composure and steadying yourself. You were floored. Your ability seemed to have no effect on the man, his energy still at full throttle as he marched towards you.
“That little trick won’t do much on me.” He spat, nearing closer. “Your abilities are no match for mine, as every time you attack me I grow stronger.”
Before he could get to you, you released two more webs in an attempt to wrap around his ankles and pull him off his feet. But before you could get close, he slashed through them.
”(Y/n), stop it! You don’t know what you’re up against!” Jotaro shouted, and before you could do anything else, Polnareff swung that sword down towards you.
In the brief moment you had to process what was going on, you had Vampire Money before you, makeshift shield made of webs sprawling between her hands.
Although your webs were strong enough to slow his strike, he still cut through them with ease.
“Such a foolish girl. Do you think that’s going to stop me? As we speak I’m learning and memorizing every one of your moves, you cannot defeat me.” His voice rang out, dripping with malice.
He struck again, faster this time, faster than you could make another shield, and time seemed to stop as the blade swung down towards you.
Things moved in slow motion as the sickeningly sharp blade made first contact with your skin. You met Polnareff’s gaze, a feeble hope that you might be able to get through to him, but his eyes were still just as cold and dark as before, swimming with an emotion you couldn’t quite put your finger on.
You felt every little thing as the sword tore through your chest and down to your stomach, the excruciating pain of the cut, and the warm blood beginning to trickle out and soak your clothes. Your eyes widened as you were pushed back by the sheer velocity of it, stumbling as the blade finally left your body.
You heard Jotaro’s voice ring out, met with a quick response from Polnareff, but the ringing in your ears and the pounding in your head made it impossible to understand anything they were saying.
The last thing you saw as your vision went blurry, was Polnareff turning on his heels and leaving you in the dust to continue what he started with Jotaro.
Your body hit the ground with a resounding thud, and then everything went black.

Just remember that last year, my friends and I went to an anime convention, where I happen to use a Fem! Joshu-inspired outfit. It was all improvised and it is not even close to a proper cosplay, but I had fun! It felt great to dress like (alike?) one of my favorite 2D characters.
Well... if I go back this year, I will try to improve my performance.
(It is hard to not notice my  manly, enormous yaoi hands. It doesn't matter since Joshu is a bishounen yaoi man anyways.)

IN WHICH : 2 TEENS MEET EACH OTHER ON A BEACH CONCERT.
PAIRING : JODIO JOESTAR X GN! READER (AGE 15)
WARNINGS : mentions of alcohol (no intake dw), swearing
WC: like at least 18
Tumblr media
In Hawaii, beach concerts are a sort of...usual thing? Well, at least it is for your neighbourhood. It's a convenient place, as the beach is right beside your house, making it like a makeshift backyard for your family. Since many people have been interested in becoming up-and-coming DJs, beach concerts have been becoming something that is held once every fortnight. From RnB music to Pop, a huge variety of music is played for the entire neighbourhood to hear.
That's why one of these concerts had attracted Jodio and Dragona Joestar, both popular in the high school you're attending. Although both had some sort of...shady past, you're willing to look past that and see of yourself what sort of person they truly are. What? It's not like they sell.. psh.. drugs? Or something. Albeit you didn't expect the opportunity to reveal their true colours to arrive so quickly, you had vowed to make do with what spare time you had before this Saturday. You were already on a time crunch since, you know, it's fucking THURSDAY, and you have a project due tomorrow (fuck the teachers), you really had to struggle.
Soon, the fated day arive, where by the DJ, a renowned one, has been playing popular songs by the now-hit singer Ice Spice, the world-renowned Dua Lipa, and the of course, ever famous Eminem. You soon spotted the pair, Jodio in a loose AC/DC hoodie with black cargo pants, his hair always tied in his usual star, though the green star hairclip seems to be more radiant. Actually, HE himself seems to be more radiant. What the hell? Before you could question yourself for saying that he's literally fucking glowing, Dragona walks in and takes the spotlight away. Clad in a tight sweater with a heart boob window, along with the TINIEST jeans you have ever seen on someone, Dragona continues to amaze you with how he ever so continuously slays his outfits. Māhū's are really cool honestly, and Dragona is one of the first you met. He's a super cool guy too, though one could easily mistake him for a girl.
Firstly, you went over to the juice bar. Grabbing a plastic cup, you had spent a concerning amount of time deciding between white wine, grape wine and red wine. You went with sparkling lemon juice. Next, you had to find a way to get close to Jodio Joestar. He seems closed off, and, well, honestly really fucking scary. But, you decide to suck it up anyway and talk to him. What possible could go wrong?
EVERYTHING WENT FUCKING WRONG. Firstly, you spilled the lemon juice on his shoes, then offered to clean it up for him. By doing that, you accidentally fell over and landed face first in the goddamn sand. And when he offered to help you up, you MISSED HIS HAND? HOW DID YOU MISS HIS HAND?! It's okay, sort of? He kinda understood the situation you're in, and pitied you. I would too. How did you mess that up so badly. Holy shit. You guys had really, REALLY, uncanny similiar humour. Even Dragona was freaked out, but glad his brother could find a friend in somone of similiar age. Soon after that, you guys exchanged numbers. His profile picture is some obscure anime guy with a black hat and a Japanese student uniform? He looks really fierce, with the words "ゴゴ" surrounding him. Hm, perhaps this is some unknown special interest that Jodio has.
You got a "ping!" chime from your phone after leaving the concert. There wasn't really much to say, the concert had carried on like normal, though I suppose you may refer to it as a "party" rather than a concert. Seeing that the message notification was from Jodio, you quickly unlocked your phone and saw that he had sent one message and a sticker.

Get to You (Polnareff x Reader) Chapter Eleven

Things took a turn rather quickly after finding the remnants of the Speedwagon helicopter. A vicious attack came soon after. A terrifying water stand, that relied solely on sound, left everyone fighting for their lives with little hope of recovery.
It seemed like every time you thought things couldn’t get any worse, they managed to find a way. You all had been left cowering on top of the car, both Avdol and Kakyoin gravely injured. Things were looking dire, and you started to wonder if this might really be the end for all of you.
But Jotaro’s quick thinking managed to save you all, as he used Iggy and his stand to finally track down and defeat the stand’s user. Allowing those of you still trapped on the car a moment to breathe, and finally get Avdol and Kakyoin to a hospital.
Things cooled down after that, everyone standing by anxiously in the hospital waiting room as the day came to a close and the sun began to set.
Your eyelids grew heavy as you rested your head on your hand in one of the uncomfortable chairs. You fought to stay conscious, like a kid at the end of the family gathering waiting for their parents to finally shut up and go.
Joseph seemed to take notice of your plight though, as he rose to his feet in front of everyone.
“It’s getting late. We ought to check into a hotel for the night, there’s no use in all of us waiting around here anyway. One of us can stay back in case there’s any news, and the rest of us can get some shut eye.” Joseph suggested, and you would’ve probably jumped for joy if your body wasn’t running on fumes. You felt a little guilty wanting to leave when your comrades were still struggling, but you knew you’d be utterly useless if you were completely sleep deprived tomorrow.
“I’ll stay here for now. I’ll call if there’s any updates.” Jotaro added, peering out from the shade of his hat as he leaned back in his seat and crossed his arms.
“Thank god, I’m exhausted. I can’t afford to miss out on any more of my beauty rest.” Polnareff chimed in, and you poorly concealed a laugh. Iggy then yowling along with you, which earned the both of you a glare from the Frenchman.
The four of you walked to the nearest lodging. It was small, but cozy, and you honestly didn’t care what the place looked like so long as it had a bed.
The old man checked in, and a few minutes later dropped a key in your hand. You barely glanced at the room number as you dragged your sluggish body up the stairs, moving like a zombie as you trailed behind the two men.
When you reached the first landing, Joseph said his goodnights and stepped out, leaving you and Polnareff to continue the hike up the stairs, Iggy having gone off on his own somewhere along the way. As you reached the fourth floor, you both stepped out of the stairwell into the hallway in relative silence.
You made your way down the hall with Polnareff, glancing at the number stamped on your key as you neared the corresponding room.
You finally slowed to a stop in front of it, fiddling with your room key.
“Goodnight, Polnareff, I’ll see you tomorrow.” You mumbled to the Frenchman who had also stopped beside you.
“What do you mean? This is my room. I know you’re tired, but come on now.” He replied, holding out his key for you to see.
You gave him an incredulous look, shaking your head and holding up your own key. “Um, no. This is my room. Look,” You argued, dangling your key in front of his face
He grabbed it to steady it from your swaying hand, and looked slightly horrified as his eyes read over the numbers.
“No, you look! They’re the same number.” You rolled your eyes and grabbed his key from his grip, holding the two side by side in disbelief. As your tired brain caught up to what your eyes were seeing, you groaned, shoving the Frenchman’s key back into his hand.
“Ugh, whatever. As long as there’s two beds I’m too tired to care.” You muttered, inserting the key into the lock and letting the door swing open.
You paused for a moment, letting your eyes adjust to the darkness of the room as the vague shapes became more visible, before the Frenchman flicked on the light switch.
As you took in your surroundings, you had a brief flashback to the very first night you began this journey. One lone bed lying before you.
“Oh my god, you can’t be serious right now.” You whined, shuffling further into the room. “I’m never letting that old man check us in again.” You threw yourself down on the bed, unzipping your boots and kicking them off onto the floor as Polnareff stood in the doorway.
“I’m calling dibs on this room. I’m way too tired to go back down there and complain.” You muttered, laying back on the bed and enjoying its soft comfort.
“Fine, then. I’ll go talk to them.” Polnareff grumbled, turning on his heels and letting the door slam behind him.
You crawled under the covers, pulling them over your head and snuggling into the warmth. You couldn’t help but laugh a little, finding yourself in this absurd situation once more.
Soon after, sleep overtook you, as you enjoyed the comforts of the plush bed and drifted into dreamland.
-
“(Y/n), wake up.” A voice half-whispered, half-shouted at you, a hand shaking your shoulder lightly. “Come on (Y/n), get up. Give me one of the pillows and the blankets.” The voice continued, and finally your sleepy brain registered that it was Polnareff.
You groaned, turning your body away from him and pulling the covers over your head. “Ugh, go get your own room.” You whined, voice muffled underneath the blankets.
“I can’t! The woman at the front desk didn’t understand me at all. She thought we were a couple and wasn’t getting anything I was saying!” He scream-whispered at you, and you groaned again, brain still mostly asleep. “Can’t you just give me a pillow and a blanket so I can sleep on the floor again?!”
“Ugh, I don’t wanna move. Just climb in.” You mumbled, snuggling deeper into the blankets.
“W-what?!” He questioned, and you faintly heard the shuffling of his clothes as he stood up straight.
“Just get in.” You said again, peeking your head out from the covers so he could hear you better.
“What are you talking about? Are you feeling alright?” He asked, shock and concern both laced in his voice.
“I’m not saying it again. I’m not moving. So you can sleep on the floor with nothing or you can climb in with me. You have to sleep on the edge though.” You grumbled, burrowing deeper once again and hiding your face under the duvet.
The room was dead silent for a moment, and you could feel Polnareff’s presence standing behind you, seemingly frozen in shock, until you finally heard the shuffling of clothes and the sound of him tugging off his boots
A moment later, the covers were pulled up and the bed dipped beside you. You poked your head out once more, opening one eye enough to see him lying stick straight on his back and nearly falling off the edge.
“Don’t be so dramatic, you can get comfortable. I’m not going to bite you.” You teased.
“That’s not what I’m worried about.” He replied flatly, not moving from his stiff position.
“Whatever. I gave you a choice, you chose bed so you have to deal with the consequences, I guess. If I wake up and see you fell on the floor, I’m gonna laugh my ass off.” You grumbled, scooting away and turning over in the bed so your back was facing him. You waited for whatever snarky comeback he had for you, but none came, just silence and stillness in the dark room.
You lay there a moment, confused and irritated, wondering if you should just try to fall asleep again and deal with the awkwardness in the morning. But your overactive mind wasn’t going to let that happen.
“What’s your deal lately? Why have you been avoiding me ever since Avdol came back? The most you’ve said to me lately has been complaining about Iggy.” You questioned, voice full of irritation and attitude as you grew more frustrated at the man’s silence.
“Tell me the truth, (Y/n)... Did you know about Avdol?” He asked, voice so low and steady you couldn’t get any sort of read on him.
You paused for a moment, so caught off guard by the question you weren’t sure how to respond at first.
Finally, you tugged the blankets off your head and sat up, turning to face him.
“Do you really think I knew that whole time? And just let you sit there and spill your guts to me, without saying anything? Is that honestly the type of person you think I am?” You asked, hurt and frustration evident in your voice. “I found out probably twenty minutes before you did. I chewed them all out, I got lost searching on that damn island, trying to find you so I could tell you before anyone else. Is that really why you’ve been avoiding me?”
He finally sat up to face you, a mixture of emotions painted on his face as those blue eyes finally met yours, dimly lit by the moonlight pouring in from the windows.
“How was I supposed to know, (Y/n)? If those jackasses lied to me, how was I supposed to know you didn’t too?! I’ve felt like such a fool, baring my soul to you over something that wasn’t even real. You’ve already made it so painfully clear where I stand with you, so why should I have assumed any different…” He trailed off, breaking eye contact and staring down at the bed. “You say I confuse you, but you’re so difficult to understand. All those moments we shared, I thought I could finally get to you…”
You froze, heart beating out of your chest and a lump in your throat as you looked at him, his heart laid bare in front of you.
“I wouldn’t lie to you, Polnareff…” You put your face in your hands, rubbing your eyes to rid them of the tears threatening to gather. “You know, I’ve felt guilty about that first night since the very moment those words left my mouth. It wasn't just because of you, you know. I just… I don’t know. You’re always so hot and cold with me, I’ll start to think you might really care and then… You do something stupid, and it hurts, and god, it makes me so angry. Every time you’d say some corny pickup line, I’d start to think I could really fall for you, and maybe you for me. There’s just… something different about you. But then, every single time I’d start to think that, you’d do some stupid shit to make me realize you’re just like anyone, like you’re only chasing one thing.” You let out a sound somewhere between a laugh and a sob. “How could you be so vulnerable with me, tell me I’m the only one you can talk to, and then go hit on some random woman you just met? Every time I thought I could get to you, you’d throw it back in my face.”
You both sat in silence, facing each other but both too afraid to make eye contact. The silence grew louder as it wound on, Polnareff’s lack of response cutting into your heart like a knife after your confession.
You clenched your fists, tears truly beginning to burn at your eyes now as he kept his mouth shut.
“God, aren’t you even going to say anything?!” You spat, sorrow quickly turning to anger.
“I’m sorry.” His voice finally came, low and shaky.
“You’re sorry? That’s it?” You questioned, bewildered. But that was it, as he sat there quietly, head hung low.
You let out a shocked, anxious laugh. Rage and sadness bubbling in your stomach, threatening to make you sick. Finally, you climbed out of the bed, tugging your boots back on and gathering your few belongings.
“This is what I’m talking about. You make me feel like such a fucking idiot.” You mumbled, voice cracking at the end as you stifled a sob, and slammed the door behind you.
