Prepare yourself for Warp-10 excitement! (omg🤦🏼‍♀️) After 15 yrs in exile Khan and his followers see a path to freedom when, while looking for a candidate planet for the Genesis Project, Chekov and a Captain Terrell touch down on Ceti Alpha V. I grew up watching The Next Generation, and the only other movie I’ve really ever seen w/the original characters is The Voyage Home, so this was interesting. The opening scene with the Kobayashi Maru test (holy young #KirstieAlley!) and Kirk’s walk out was awesome. I super like watching movies from the past trying to imagine what the future looks like (ex: a show from the 60’s, making a movie in the 80’s about the 23rd century.) If Kirk’s intro was awesome, Khan and co’s intro was just cool - standing there in black space/filter suits. The effects were nice (that bug going into the ear, the proposal for the project, etc.) but oy the graphics for that retinal scan 😆😬 Khan was better imo in the movie, seemed more human and you got to see him interact with his followers more/better. The scene at Regula 1 where the camera goes around them as they’re debating what to do and the Enterprise cruising between “the camera” and Regula 1 were cool shots. The battle between Khan and Kirk in the ships (and finding the people in Regula 1) was thrilling, but the end coming down to knowing the minutia of the Federation ships was great. Cool litte tidbts: the bridges were constructed in pie pieces so they could be rearranged, there were like 5 different versions of the script before the settled on this one, and 15 years actually passed between the episode and this movie’s release.
