So, I felt inspired recently to continue my series “Johnnys new angel” (basically my spin on the lore) I have part two written. Here it is. To be honest, I had a hard time not cringing at some of the content written so, I must be doing something right to make myself cringe as the writer. Johnnys new angel pt2

“Plenty of space in the cold room for ya”

Consciousness eluded Maria constantly. Everytime her eyes opened it felt as if they just lulled right back to closed. In her small time frames of wakefulness she saw things, shapes, felt movements that weren’t hers. First, she felt herself vibrating, sitting on something…leather. Her head resting against something cold. Glass? A car of some sort? A turck? Definitely moving. She also heard a radio talking about something at Devils river. Not that she could really comprehend anything before she passed out again.

The second time she was awake her body didn’t feel like it was moving, however this time she felt something. Pain.l? Yes, pain. That was it, something was tugging at her arm. Wait, her arm. She lost it didn’t she. That monster sawed her arm off. What would Danny think? For a fleeting moment she tussled with the idea that she would then be digesting to look at before a particular sharp pain made her groan weakly. “Hey! Careful with her or I’ll knock ya so hard ya won’t be singing for a month.” A familiar voice. “Listen here, I’m the only one besides Nancy that can help her. Besides Johnny, she just needs a little more…dust.” The other person huffed in response. “Well from here it looks like ya doing a pretty mucked up job.” Maria’s vision was sidedly clouded with green. The green dusted her face with softness. An odd feeling quickly settled in. What little of the world that Maria could see was now swirling around her. The voices continued to berate each other as they dulled to nothingness with Maria’s consciousness.

Finally Maria opens her eyes, this time her wits about her. She couldn’t move, no, it was much too cold, besides she felt exhausted. Her body was propped up against something equally cold. A wall no doubt. Wait, Maria’s heart sank. Her arm, her arm! She had to see. With fear and effort Maria rolled her head to look down to the left expecting the worst. Relief settled in. It was still there, bandaged but still there. Not missing, not even hanging. “Thank you God.” She said thankfully to herself. Her eyes wandered the room. She still felt loopy, anything too far was blurred into shapes. Another thought, her face. Wasn’t she cut? Hit to? Her arm felt heavy but her fingers caressed her face. It hurt but, in her state of mind she couldn’t quite feel it nor care. Thred, thick. If she was stitched up why could she still feel gaps? A hand pulled hers away from her face. “Don’t touch it Darlin’. Hate to have to give you meds for infection.” He said quietly.

Maria hadn’t even noticed Johnny at first. He sat next to her against the wall to her right. Maria made eye contact. Johnny internally was having a riot with her drugged out state. Found it…entertaining. How her eyebrows shifted up and down. Her eyes blown wide, blinking to try and wash away the confusion and fog of her brain. Maria reached up to touch her face again. Tracing the gash that was crudely stitched. It went from just below her eyebrow to mid cheek. Maybe. “I said no.” Her hand was yanked away. Johnny's eyes focus on hers and Maria focuses on his. Wrapping her head around everything. As much as she could, that is. My face…Maria thought. My face. Her arm was okay but her face wasn’t. Her thoughts wander back to Danny again. Could he love her like this? Her eyes watered and spilled over. “Now why ya cryin’ sweetheart?” Johnny asked with confusion and mock tenderness. “M-my face…I- you…” Maria couldn’t even finish her sentence; she was so distraught. Her hand reached up to touch the tender spot again. Johnny got up quickly, kneeling in front of her, jerking her arm away from her face, yanking her forward a little so fast her head spun. “Damn it I said don’t touch your damn face you moron. I said you’ll get an infection. If that happens I’ll have to skin the rotten parts off.” Johnny’s grip was tight on Maria’s hand as Maria tried to steady herself. Maria looked up, glaring daggers at him. “It’s Maria.” She huffed. Johnny leaned in close. “Whatdidya say? Couldn’t hear you darlin’? An apology for not listening?” He smirked down at her. She repeated herself. “It 's Maria, tu perra.” She spat. “Maria hm. What else was that you said? I’m not familiar with it.” Maria smiled a little. “I called you a bitch.” Johnny chuckled, licking the front of his teeth. He paused before chuckling again. “Mouthy one ain’t ya.” He nodded looking down at the floor before he turned his gaze back onto her. Any sign of laughter fading to nothing. “I’ll fix that.”

Johnny yanked Maria up into an unsteady standing position, his grip still on her arm that he held above her head. “You know, I’ve been told that sometimes, you have to stand people up to knock em’ down a peg.” Johnny swung on her, knocking the air out of her with the pouch connecting to her gut. Naturally she niched over but fell on her knees from moving too fast in her still partly dazed state. She groaned, lucky she had an empty stomach. “Come on now girl, surely you don’t roll over that easy.” Again Johnny yanked her up. His other hand gripped her chin pulling her in close. Noses almost touch. “Now I got half a mind to not to rip those stitches open on your face by smashing your face in.” Johnny looked at her for a moment. His face relaxing, a weird look in his gaze. Almost intimate. “I ain’t never seen one like you. Pretty, even like this. Torn up. I wonder what you taste like.” Maria’s eyes widened as she shook her head no. As if reading her mind Johnny continued on with a chuckle. “Nah, not like that.” Maria was confused, how else would he- Maria’s thoughts were interrupted. Johnny brought her face close to him, he opened wide. “Wait…what you…stop. Stop!” Maria’s pleas went unheard. Johnny felt her skin on his tongue. That’s not what he’s after though. Not at this moment. His younger traveler wound up with the cruelty stitched wound. Leaving wetness behind. Maria screamed in pain and absolute terror. “Stop! What are you doing to me?! What is wrong with you?!” She cried out as his tongue dipped into the parts of the wounds that weren’t stitched properly leaving the wound open. Maria’s heart felt as if it would beat out of her chest. “PLEASE! NO MORE!” She screamed out.

Johnny paused, pulling away, blood on his tongue that he just washed away down his throat with the blood he licked from his mouth with internal euphoria. He looked at Maria. Her eyes wide, lip quivering and tears flowing down. His heart tightened in his chest. The fear, it was riveting but, where did the guilt come from. Why? He’s never felt guilty before. There was a long pause of just Maria’s sobs filling up the space before he spoke. “Maria. I have wanted you the moment I laid my eyes on you. I want everything you have to offer. Make no mistake. I. Will. BREAK. You. Just to have it.” Johnny let her go, letting her tumble to the floor crying. “Y-you monster.” She sobbed. “Well, you ain’t the first to say that. You stay here for the night. Blankets are on the table, the doors locked. You ain’t leavin’.” Johnny told her as he walked out the room leaving her alone in the locked cold room. He stood out the door a moment. Something felt…different. He felt different. Guilty. That…made him angry.
