@johnacton of course yeah, the poem is at its core about looking back into the past and having it coloured by the present. the examples here are one of my favourite songs at the moment (17 - youth lagoon, 'the snake song') connecting with memories from before i knew about it, details i didn't pick up on at the time but dwell on in retrospect, as well as 'future' events and things that i didn't know about becoming the focal point of the nostalgia trip. even though the four memories i'm focusing on are the same as they always have been the way i experience them still changes.
