For @thunder-pride 's second prompt day: "I'm proud of you", but also inspired by and following on from @avengedbiologist 's fic found here. Also borrowing her headcanon that Lee and Lucille are siblings from a large family full of L named siblings bc yes 😂💕💕
Written almost entirely on my phone on a daytrip to Hamilton so please excuse any errors - I'm posting on a phone with literally 1% battery LOL
---
His homecoming was everything he'd dreamed of, full of joy and love and the gleeful shriek of a toddler thrown into the air. Jeff held Scott close, wrapping an arm around his wife as he stared in awe down at the sleeping baby she was gently rocking back and forth.
"There he is," he breathed in wonder, hardly daring to reach out and brush back the shock of red hair.
"There he is," Lucille agreed mildly. "Worth waiting for, Daddy?"
"I wish I could have been here."
A tiny hand closed around his finger and Jeff swallowed thickly.
"UNCLE LEE!"
Scott's shout sent his ears ringing and he looked up to see Lee peel away from the swarm of reporters and make his way towards the family.
"Hey Steven," he said reaching out to ruffle Scott's hair, sending him into peals of laughter.
"It's Scott!" protested the toddler but Lee only pulled a face, making him giggle even more.
"And hey to you, sis," he said, beaming at Lucille. "Got a second to share the newest nephew with your big brother?"
"Honestly Lee, you're less than ten minutes older, it hardly counts," she said rolling her eyes.
"You tell that to a racecar champ, see what they say," he retorted as he leant down. "Oh wow, the kid's something special, isn't he?"
"He sure is," said Jeff. "You did good Luce."
"How old's Jim now?"
"John," said the parents as one.
"Honestly, Lee," added Lucille. "How do you expect to be the favourite uncle if you don't even remember their names?"
Lee waved a hand. "I already had to learn all of Laura and Leonard's kids' names," he complained. "You can't expect me to keep track."
"I keep track just fine," pointed out Lucille with a suppressed smile. "And look out because Lily's pregnant now too, remember?"
Lee slapped a hand across his forehead. "Dang it, I'd forgotten she'd said that in the last vid. Is that why she's glaring at me?"
"Better go find out," said Jeff with a grin. "Hey Scott, want to go help Lee win Aunty Lily over with that cute smile of yours?"
"Yeah!" said Scott, his feet wriggling as he tried to escape Jeff's grip.
Lee gave Jeff a significant glance as he grabbed the toddler's hand, and Jeff felt his mouth go dry.
He knew what Lee was silently suggesting but the timing felt all wrong.
"Jeff, honey?" Lucille asked gently, seeing the shadow that had fallen over his eyes.
"We need to talk," he said in a low voice, trying not to look around at the reporters and give them any hint of a story. He didn't fancy causing anytime of spectacle. "Not here. And nothing bad," he added hastily. "Just important to me."
Lucille reached out and squeezed his hand. "If it's important to you, it's important to me," she said with a firm voice. "Do I need to beg off Mom and Dad's dinner? John's got quite a voice on him; he'll probably start screaming the minute he wakes up, we can use that."
"Don't be silly, Luce," said Jeff, kissing her cheek. "Your parenrs went to a lot of effort, especially with Ma and Pa's flight out here delayed."
"Who's being silly? You stay here with the baby and toddler and I'll go to Mars next time. Is it so wrong I want you all to myself instead of smiling over a celebratory dinner?"
As though he could sense his mother's sharp words, John stirred and opened his eyes to see his father - little more than a stranger - staring down at him. He wrenched his small hand from Jeff's pinky and screwed up his face to let out an almighty wail.
"Oh no, Johnny," said Lucille, frantically scooping him up into her arms and unsuccessfully attempting to soothe hum. "Jeff?" she said desparately.
Jeff hurried over to make their excuses at once, noting the family's knowing looks of sympathy and realising that this must not unusual for his second son. Lily looked faintly disquueted, while Lee held nothing back and clamping his hands over his ears as he near shouted his goodbyes.
"Mommy says Johnny has big feelings," said Scott solemnly as Jeff reached down and hoisted him up onto his hip. "But I think they're just loud."
The journey back to Lucille's parents' house where they would be staying was short, yet when Jeff compared it to the long months in space he knew which he preferred. It didn't take long for John's screams, which seemed even louder in the enclosed space, to get under Scott's skin and before he knew it, Jeff had two wailing children in the back seat, while his wife deftly climbed over to sit between them and provide what little comfort she could. He face was drawn tight and Jeff gripped the steering wheel as he glanced in the rearview mirror at her. His heart constricted in his chest, knowing she'd been left to parent their children without him these long months. It was abundantly clear that where Scott had been calm and easy-going, John was determined to throw as many curveballs into the mix. He finally quieted as they pulled into the drive and Jeff said nothing as he collected Scott and set him down in his high chair.
"Peas, Daddy?" asked Scott with wide eyes, and Jeff dutifully doled out half a cup of frozen peas.
"I need to go help Mommy now, be a good, bave boy for me, Scott, and hold tight. I'll get you the rest of dinner soon," he promised.
Lucille hadn't moved, head tipped back in clear exhaustion. She opened an eye as he leaned down next to the open car door.
"So how's Mom doing? Truthfully, without the cameras and your parents watching?"
She stifled a sob and it was all Jeff could do not to cram himself into Scott's toddler seat to comfort her.
"Oh, it's silly," she said, choking back tears. "He's wonderful really, I love him so much. I should have warned you, Johnny's just so very easily startled and you should have seen how he cried when we first introduced Mom and Dad to him, but once he starts he just doesn't stop and..."
She gasped and burst out crying again, and Jeff gently drew her out of the car.
"It's okay, Luce," said Jeff. "So he's wary of strangers, that's not so bad. Didn't we always say we wished Scott were just a little more frightened of them - remember when he wandered off with that old man at the grocery store?"
Lucille stifled a laugh. "Or that six year old at the lake who wanted to 'adopt' him?"
"Exactly," said Jeff. "We can't pretend each of our kids won't have their own challenges. Although one day, John's going to do amazing things with that voice and we'll get to watch him and be so glad he never stopped."
Lucille nodded. "I know, Jeff I do. But oh, it's been so awful being here for the last week and not at home. I love Mom, I do, but she's been driving me up the wall. If she comments on how we're raising the kids, or how you should be here or..."
"What?" asked Jeff, stricken as his blood ran cold. "She said that."
Lucille faltered. "She's not right, Jeff. We agreed, this was our decision."
"Is she wrong, Lu? Look at you, this has been an awful time for you."
"I'm fine," protested Lucille. "It's worse than usual with so many new people around and John frightened and Scott grouchy and..."
"Oh, heck, Scott," groaned Jeff. "I only gave him his peas."
"Oh Jeff, not the peas, Mom's convinced he'll choke on them, I promised not to give them to him."
"Go," he assured her. "I'll sort John out."
It was hours later when they finally sat down with their own dinner, freshly microwaved. John was fast asleep in the travel cot in their room and Scott playing on the floor in front of them. Jeff dropped his head against Lucille's shoulder.
"This is the life," he murmured, stifling a yawn.
Lucille hummed in agreement, silently gathering the plates to dump in the kitchen sink.
"Dad can deal with them," she muttered as she stretched out next to Jeff. "He owes me."
She reached up and patted Jeff's cheek.
"Now, don't think I've forgotten. You said you had an important thing to discuss."
Jeff was suddenly wide awake, his insides strangling themselves.
"Now?"
Lucille shrugged. "Why not? Kids are calm, family's out. I don't feel like waiting until we're back in Kansas, not if it's important to you."
Jeff shrugged. "Seems less important now. It's just you have a lot of time for introspection when you're several months out from Mars. And your brother kept me up at night with his snoring."
Lucille narrowed her eyes. "You're stalling," she accused. "Out with it, Jefferson Tracy."
"No laughing," he warned. "It's really not a big deal."
She crossed her hand over her heart, waiting expectantly.
Jeff took a deep breath.
"It's just that, well, I'm bisexual," he said in a rush. "I don't know why it suddenly became so clear to me, but there you have it."
He peeked up into Lucille's dark brown eyes. They were shining with warmth.
"Oh Jeff," she whispered. "How wonderful."
He blinked. "It's nothing special."
She smacked his shoulder lightly. "Don't be dense," she exclaimed. "What a wonderful discovery for you. Isn't is so incredible that you know yourself better now?"
He smiled shyly, warming to her enthusiasm. "I hadn't thought of it like that," he admitted softly. "I told Lee. The idea had been bouncing around in my head up there and I just had to say it out loud."
"Of course you did," she said. "It's the truth, isn't it? It's so hard to keep the truth contained sometimes."
She kissed him, her lips curving into a smile on his skin. "I'm so proud of you, honey," she whispered.
"Proud of you too, Daddy," announced Scott loudly, and they startled apart. Scott climbed onto the couch, beaming. "So proud," he declared. "Mommy says she's proud of me for walking 'cross the road nicely. Did you do that too?"
Jeff laughed and hugged his eldest son.
"Something like that."

beard burn ; john price
Tumblr media
summary: my thoughts on riding prices face <3
18+, afab & curvy coded reader but as always it can be read as size neutral! @vgilantee i’m so sorry this took so long 😭 but if it’s any consolation,,, i stayed up until 4 am to write this LMAO also if you want something longer like 2k+ pls let me know <3 also if it’s not the best/longest pls be gentle bc this was whipped up in like an hour (instead of days lol)
he wouldn’t put up with any hesitation on your part. he would chuckle at any qualms you had about ‘crushing him’. if suffocating between your thighs was how he was meant to go, then so be it. better there than on a battlefield.
“don’t just fuckin’ hover, love. sit.” he would growl into your inner thigh, canines nipping at your soft skin. his thick beard scratching your flesh and already giving a slight sting. you let out a yelp as his big arms snaked around your plush thighs to yank you down, so you had no choice but to sit on his face with your full weight.
you grabbed onto the headboard in front of you to steady yourself. though it quickly became what you desperately clutched onto for purchase as he wasted no time in devouring you.
“oh, fuck,” you gasped, heart pounding in your ears at both his words and his mouth devouring you whole. the obscene wet sounds he was making with his mouth and your wetness didn’t help either.
“mmm, taste so fuckin’ good.” he groans into your cunt as his tongue works on licking your slit. “would stay between these thighs all day if i could.”
his mouth was so fucking messy and sloppy on your cunt, and so loud as he groaned and moaned into you. his tongue worked furiously as he lapped up your juices, flattening his tongue and then licking a wide stripe along your entrance.
moans spill out of your mouth as he keeps up his ministrations, his tongue dipping inside your soaking cunt and his nose rubbing up against your clit. his beard scratching your thighs only added to the sensations that were overwhelming you.
“love this pussy so much,” his words send a vibration through your core, making that knot in your stomach grow even tighter. “so fuckin’ wet for your captain. soakin’ me.”
then his tongue licked upwards to your swollen clit, flicking over the sensitive bud over and over. you felt yourself growing closer as you cried out his name and clutched onto the headboard even tighter.
you grind down onto his face involuntarily, chasing that intense pleasure that his lips and tongue provided. he smiled against your pussy as he felt you rock against his mouth, desperate to come.
“mmm, yeah, that’s it!” he eggs you on, voice all muffled as he keeps licking and sucking. “ride my face, c’mon.”
“mmm, feels so good,” you desperately rock your hips against his mouth. you were so fucking close, you could almost taste it. just a little bit more and you knew you’d be falling off the edge.
“c’mon, come for me.” he murmurs into your cunt, feeling your lips flutter against his mouth. he moved one hand away from your thigh only to slip it between your legs, easily sliding two thick fingers into your cunt next to his tongue. he hears your choked out cry as he scissors his fingers in your soaked pussy, feeling you clench around him so tight. “c’mon, give it to me. now.”
then he wraps his lips around your swollen clit and sucks on the sensitive bundle of nerves, all while still plunging his fingers inside your cunt.
“fuck, fuck, fuck!” he hears you wail as your orgasm crashes into you like a harsh wave. his tongue keeps licking and his fingers keep pumping as you squirt all over his mouth and his palm. he only pulls away from your sensitive cunt when you lightly pat his head, almost swatting him away.
when he let you climb off him, you saw his beard was wet and shiny, absolutely soaked from all of your juices.

LENEEEE stepbro!john b???? 🎀🎀🎀
OMGGGGG! i haveee an ideaaaaa!!! ᡣ𐭩ྀིྀི₊ ⊹ SMUT!!! ignore any misspellings lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“m’not whoring around or anything… it's just protection!!” you cry, fat tears rolling down your cheeks. much to our dismay your stepbrother, john b, found your birth control and he’s not thrilled about the idea that his little step-sis is “running round the cut, getting her tiny pussy filled with other guys' dicks”. you reach for the pills that are held tightly in your stepbrother’s hand, only for him to reach the hand way above your head and walk straight to the bathroom.
“do you bring boys in here? into the house?…do i not give you everything you need? hmm?” he disappointedly sighs, not even looking at you as he opens the plastic and aluminum packet.
“no!! i promise i don’t, please just give it back!” you continue to cry, embarrassed, trying to reason with him to give them back to you.
“hm no, you don’t need these, bub.” he taunts, dumping the little pills in the toilet and flushing them faster than you can plead for him to stop.
“go sit on the bed and wait for me, i need a minute.” john b sighs and puts his hands on his hips like he’s disappointed.
“you're so mean ta’me johnny.” you sniffle, wiping the tears from your eyes as you turn to go back to the room like he told you to.
after a painful spanking, he manhandled you to be face down ass up with your cheek squished against your pink pillow, drool evident on the cloth as your stepbrother stretched out your little pussy on his massive length. his strong hands gripping onto the sides of your hips, doing all the work by slamming your ass against his pelvis.
“hurts!” you whine, wanting to crawl away from him but also sooo far gone, so dumb you really can't focus on making full sentences let alone moving.
“you wanted to take birth control like a big girl, you gotta take it like a big girl.” he tuts.
“jombee you didn’t- put a condom!!!” you mumble into the pillow, “don’t cum inside me please jombee please.” you plea, but unfortunately nothing can be heard except for the low grunts of your stepbrother, the sound of skin slapping skin and the wet sloppy squelching of your hole.
“you’re gonna get me pregnant…” whining, you try your best to muster up some energy to crawl away from his thrusts. but the attempt was fruitless because your stepbrother's grip was just too strong.
“that’s what m’doin bub.”
“you can’t!!”
“can and m’gonna, what’s everyone gonna think when they find out your big stepbro put his little baby in you hmm?” he taunts, smacking your pore little sore ass, making a loud crack sound.
“no more stupid boys chasin' you around that’s for sure…should’ve hidden the pills aaaa-lot better baby,” john b pauses his thrusts and you think that for a second he’s decided you’ve had enough of this punishment when he reaches hand over to your face, slipping his thumb into your mouth for you to suck.
“needed that hmmm?” john b coos, making your pussy still pulsate around his dick,
“mmhm!” you moan as he’s slipping his glossy and slobbery digit out of your mouth and leaning back to continue to pound you into the mattress. as he’s back to thrusting into you your cries and whines start back up, even more so when he slips his thumb covered in your saliva into your ass.
"no!! no more!" you scream into the pillow.
“aaaalmost there baby, almost done…” he grunts, smacking your ass again, this time giving you two harsh smacks. "stay with me sweet girl." he watches as your cunt stretches around him and how your ass jiggles with every thrust, and you just know he’s going to knock you up tonight and there is nothing you can do but take it, helplessly. ᡣ𐭩

A Wave of Feelings
Rafe Cameron x F!Pogue!Reader
Blurb: Rafe and (Y/N) got into an argument for God knows how many times, about literally anything when they breath the same air, ranging from a small accident to a heated one about their cultural beliefs. But something in the air was different this time. Or was it only in the air? Not something in their heart and mind when the two of you finally realize something big that could change your lives?
Tumblr media
Note: I have always wanted to write an angst especially for this character and it has occurred to me one day that arguing/miscommunication plot is kind of my fave trope so here we are lol.
Warning: angst, hurt/comfort, miscommunication, argument, bad writing lol English isn't my first language. also, soft!Rafe in the end!
Words: 1490
The sun hung low over the Outer Banks as Rafe Cameron and you found yourself embroiled in yet another heated argument. This was clearly not the first time you both got into an argument. Some of them were heavy like that one time when your best friend asked you to go to the party just to talk to Rafe (which she did) but then he dumped her after the party and she cried for weeks on your shoulder, or some Kook-owned properties that limited your access, or some insulting banter between Rafe and your friends (that got you realized how much he hated JJ).
But most of the time it was just about silly things: when he knocked up your beer accidentally, when you sailed in front of him and accidentally splashed some water (it didn't even make his already oily hair wet), or when you were napping in a near beach and he claimed that it was his territory (he was in the Cut area, for God's sake!). You two always found a way to argue.
This time, your voices clashed like crashing waves, echoing off the walls of the old shipwreck where you had sought refuge.
"You're impossible, Rafe! Always acting like you own this place, roaming around thinking that you're so much better than us Pogues," you exclaimed, your voice tinged with frustration. Pogues always owned this place, not some rich snobby kids like him, you thought.
Rafe's jaw clenched, his temper flaring and pride wounded. He hissed, "Maybe if you Pogues have some ambitions, you wouldn't be stuck in the same place your whole life!"
Oh, this was definitely one of those heavy arguments.
Your fists clenched at your sides as took a step forward. Your voice trembling with emotion. "You have no idea what it's like to struggle, Rafe. You've always had everything handed to you on a silver platter."
For a moment, you needed to convince yourself that you saw Rafe's gaze softened. You wanted to believe that a flicker of remorse crossed his features before he quickly masked it with a defiant glare. "At least I don't have to scrape by just to survive. Maybe if you Pogues worked harder, you'd actually amount to something."
His words struck deep, a painful reminder of the challenges you and your community faced every day. You recoiled as if struck by a lightning, your eyes stinging with unshed tears and your face was red, "You don't know anything about me, Rafe. You don't know what I've been through."
Your argument drew the attention of Sarah who was nearby with John. She was one of your best friends and you felt nothing but pity every time you realized that she shared the same blood with Rafe. With a furrowed brow, she stepped between you two, her hands raised in a gesture of peace trying to calm you down.
"Hey, what's going on here? Can't you two go five minutes without arguing?" Sarah pleaded, her voice filled with concern and annoyance. She must be tired with all these arguments, you thought. But those were all about Rafe's incapability to control his temper! And that might or might not be your issue as well...
Rafe shot you a scorching glare before turning his attention to Sarah. "Stay out of this, Sarah. This doesn't concern you."
Your eyes flashed with defiance as you stepped forward beside Sarah. "You're the one who concerns everyone with your existence!"
"What did you say to her, Rafe?!" Sarah looked at you with a concern. You were one of her strongest friends and she rarely saw you tremble like this. "Come on, talk it out like an adult, will ya!"
Rafe's fists clenched at his sides, his frustration boiling over. "Talk? What's there to talk about? I said, stay out of this, Sarah."
His gaze turned to you, "You think you know everything, (Y/N). Being the weaker one of the community, blaming us for having some money. If you said that I don't know anything about you, then you also don't know anything about me!"
His words cut like a blade across your pain. Your expression softened, a hint of hurt flickering in your eyes and you were not sure whether Rafe realize that or not. "Let's just cut it out. You would never understand what I've been through. What we have been through. Let's go, Sarah. Let's get out of here."
Sarah watched the exchange with growing concern, her heart aching for her brother and her best friend. She knew there was something deeper at play here, something that neither of them wanted to admit.
"Come on, you two. Let's take a step back and calm down, especially you, Rafe," Sarah suggested, her voice gentle yet firm. She glared at his brother. His face was as red as you, his forehead frowned deep.
You and Rafe exchanged a wary glance before reluctantly exhaled a deep breath. As much as you hate him, as much as you didn't want to admit, you really want him to apologize. The tension in the air began to dissipate, replaced by a palpable sense of unease.
Sarah sighed, running a hand through her hair as she tried to find the right words. "Look, I know things have been tense lately, but I really can't bear another sight of you guys bicker over things. If you still want to do that, please not where I can see you. I need you two to be in your best behavior when I'm around. Especially with you, Rafe. I have enough of you already."
Rafe's gaze softened as he looked at his sister, a pang of guilt tugging at his heart. "You're right, Sarah. I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier."
Sarah still held her concern, but she relieved to see them finally finding common ground. "It's okay. Now I'll leave it up to you. I can't mom you around like this, geez."
She walked away from you both. She lived long enough with both you and Rafe and there was no way she did not realized that beneath the surface, there was a different kind of tension simmered—a tension born from unspoken feelings and unacknowledged desires.
You stood still, refused to meet his gaze. The wind blew your hair as the sun began to set. You started to feel the chill and instinctively hug your own body, fixing your shirt together. You accidently drew a sharp breath when a cold wind sent chills down your spine. You sniffed and looked over the horizon. Refusing to take even the tiniest glance at him, you kept looking at the sea while stroking your upper arm.
Despite the heat of your argument, Rafe couldn't ignore the way the cold seemed to seep into your bones, making you appeared small and vulnerable against the vast expanse of the beach. His heart ached at this view.
You didn't see that he wanted to reach out, to wrap his arms around you and shield her from the biting wind; his hesitation to offer you warmth and comfort in the midst of your argument.
But his pride held him back, a barrier he had built long ago to protect himself from vulnerability and pain. Yet now, standing on the windswept beach with you before him, he couldn't ignore the truth any longer.
With a heavy sigh, Rafe took a step forward, his voice barely above a whisper as he spoke. "(Y/N), I... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said those things. I was out of line."
Your eyes widened in surprise at Rafe's apology, your anger momentarily forgotten as she regarded him with cautious curiosity. You had expected him to be stubborn, to be the usual Rafe: to dig in his heels and refuse to back down. But instead, here he was, standing before you with such humility you'd never seen before.
For a moment, the two of them stood in silence, the only sound the crashing of the waves against the shore. And then, slowly, hesitantly, you took a step forward, closing the distance between them.
"Rafe," you said softly, your voice barely audible above the wind. "Thank you."
And with that, Rafe's resolve crumbled completely. Ignoring the voice of doubt in his mind, he opened his arms and pulled you into a tight embrace, provided you with the warmth of his body against yours. He could feel the softness of your hair against his cheek and he kissed your head softly it almost gave you a heart attack.
So you were not hallucinating all this time. The glances, the gestures, the underlying concern for her.... He felt the same way, too.
In that moment, with the cold wind whipping around them, you knew that he had finally acknowledged his feelings for you. And as you stood together on the windswept beach, you both vowed to never let your pride stand in the way of your connection again.

you're barging into the safehouse where he had said to rendezvous, gasping for air that your closed throat won't let through. the rifle held in your dominant hand is dropped as soon as the door is shut behind you, and you're clawing at the straps of your helmet and chest armor to get them off because it's too tight and it's too much and you can't breathe.
this wasn't your first mission. it wasn't even the bloodiest one you'd been on thus far. you could handle the gore and the death and the pure misery of the victims of these situations, because at the end of the day, you were helping them, right?
unless you were too late.
the family had been huddled in a corner, two children laying underneath their parents. there had still been two other rooms to check in the house, but you were running out on shaky legs.
he's in front of you now, looking down at you and asking if you're injured. you're sitting on the floor, heaving for breath and tears pouring from your glassy eyes.
"it's not- it's not fucking fair!" you cried out finally, trying desperately to wipe your face dry on your sleeves, but it only worked to redden your skin further. "why are these people doing this? how could someone be so cruel?"
he sighed softly, not knowing how to respond. the team didn't show emotions like this, they didn't deal with them, not like this. but they had all been here, where you are now. they had all asked why, again and again and again until the word lost all meaning.
"i mean, are we even really helping? god, these people are all already dead! why are we here? why- jesus fucking christ, why am i here?" you rambled; you weren't talking to him anymore. your voice was fizzling out, getting quiet enough that he had to lean closer to hear your unsteady words.
"i can't help these people," you sobbed. "i'm just a kid, i'm only nineteen, i can't- i don't know what i'm supposed to do! they said i was special! they told me- said i was so much better and smarter than everyone else, what a fucking joke!"
☆ simon "ghost" riley
he knew you were young, but fuck, if that didn't break his heart, there was nothing left that would. simon didn't talk to you more than any of the others on the team, but you were special, like a little sibling to the team, to him. always having enough energy and kindness to make up for the rest of them.
seeing you like this was a first, even for him, the man who had seen the worst of the worst. it wasn't like he was immune to emotions, but he had spent so long pressing them all down until he couldn't feel them that this was new to him again. all he could do was offer a hand on your knee that he hoped resembled something like comfort.
"we're almost done here. the heli will come for us soon," he said quietly. "you did good, like always."
he watched and waited with you while your sobs whittled away to sniffles, never moving his hand from your knee, where you had grabbed onto it with one of your own. most people knew not to touch him, that they'd end up with one less hand if they did, but you were an exception.
☆ john "soap" mactavish
at first, he doesn't do anything, just kneels in front of you and stares in shock. you're nineteen? you had always danced around the question that the team would tease you with, asking if you still had to work on your homework, but it was always a joke. now it wasn't.
instead of dwelling, john shifts and sits in front of you, almost hovering over you awkwardly as he tried to figure out what to do. sure, he was one of the more open people on the team, but when you're standing next to ghost, just smiling makes you look emotionally vulnerable.
he takes your hands away from your face and into his, placing them on your lap before gently holding your shoulders. "look, we're almost done here, alright? we'll be far away before you know it." that didn't help much, so he paused again.
the almost-distraught look on his face forced a giggle out of you. his worry turned to confusion, why are you laughing now? you probably shouldn't have been, but the big, scottish military-man fretting over you was kind of funny.
"alrigh', lass, at least something cheered ya up," he grumbled, but turned serious again right after. "higher-ups were right, ya know. you are smarter than the rest of 'em. maybe even smarter than us, yeah?" he said with a smile.
☆ kyle "gaz" garrick
it wasn't that long ago that kyle was where you are now, fresh out of school and eager to prove himself in the military. except it had taken him several years longer than you to reach where you both were now; he had had plenty of time to come to terms with the horrors he saw.
now he realized that you hadn't, because you were smart and you were better than most other people, so they had thrown you in, like a minnow in a piranha pond. by all means, you were doing wonderfully for your circumstances, but you could only keep going for so long.
he sat down beside you, shoulder-to-shoulder, and wrapped an arm around you to bring your head down to rest on him. he sat with you quietly, giving you the time you needed to just get it all out.
eventually, once you're more calm, he breaks the silence with bad jokes that he definitely stole from simon.
"why do twitter users make bad soldiers?" you lifted your head to stare at him incredulously before he continued, "because, they're too quick to retweet."
☆ john price
the captain knew how young you were. he never told you, but he hadn't wanted you on the team at first; the second he was handed your file and saw your birthdate, he started protesting. but it wasn't up to him this time. he couldn't spare you from this, and he knew that it would always weigh on him. he knew he would always remember this, you, crumbling in on yourself in a heap on the floor.
john came down on one knee in front of you and started telling you a story about when he had started, how one of his first missions had gone so terribly wrong. you honestly thought he was just going to tell you to "suck it up" until he told you about one family he had saved during that mission, one that was still alive today. they still sent him letters, even.
"all you need is one good save, kid. and you've got dozens already," he murmured. he wouldn't say it outright, but you really were one of his best.
you remembered the child clinging to your back as you ran out of a collapsing building, the woman who's leg you had managed to get unstuck from fallen debris, the man you had stopped from being executed just in time.
price smiled once he saw he had gotten through to you and helped, at least a little, and roughly patted your shoulder. "evac will be here soon, chin up now."

Modern Loneliness
Major John Egan x reader
Warnings - little bit of angst, but mostly fluff
Word count - 2159
a/n - this was literally supposed to be posted over a month ago for the ending of MOTA, but I kept writing for Austin lol. Might as well get it out the drafts now. I also basically had to rewrite the whole thing bc wtf was I thinking a month ago. I hope you enjoy :)
Tumblr media
The war is finally over, allowing all the soldiers to go home, including the two best friends Buck and Bucky. The only thing holding Bucky back from being completely content about leaving is the fact that he doesn’t have that special someone to go back to.
Buck has Marge, and of course he’s happy for him, but Bucky just wishes had found a girl before he got sent off, someone who would know how he was before the war. Buck would always tell him not to worry and that he would find someone soon, but each time it doesn’t give him any reassurance.
You have been best friends with Marge since college, so when she told you her fiance was coming home you had nothing but joy for her. You had been a huge supporter of their relationship since the beginning, and while Buck was away you were always at her house comforting her for when she cried or just needed a friend. During his absence, Buck would write to you to check in on Marge because you and him both knew Marge would never tell him how she was really doing.
Currently, you are walking out of her front door to go back home when you see a taxi pull up in the driveway. You didn’t think anything of it until you saw Buck exiting the vehicle with his bags in hand. You shout for Marge to come outside, and it doesn’t take long for her to sprint into Buck’s arms after seeing him in the driveway. With a smile, you watched as he held onto her tightly and so lovingly, knowing this is exactly what Marge needed after a bad week.
Deep down, though, you were wishing you had someone coming home to you, someone whose arms you could run into and kiss you like his life depended on it. When it came to the dating scene you never had much luck, so after a while you just accepted the defeat and gave up, deciding it was better to put your energy towards your career.
During your girl talks, Marge would always tell you that you would find someone soon, and how perfect of a person you were, but year after year of not finding a relationship was making it hard to believe her.
A couple days after Buck’s return, Marge invited you over because she was hosting a barbeque for Buck and some of his friends. You tried your best to get out of it, but she wouldn’t take no for an answer. She also mentioned that Bucky – Buck’s friend from the military who you’ve only heard while reading letters – would be there and that it would be an opportunity for you.
You didn’t find it unusual that she was trying to set you up with someone because this is what she always does, but you just weren’t in the mood to have small talk with a guy who probably wouldn’t find you attractive.
When Buck had invited Bucky – because when are they not together – he turned down the offer, and just like Marge, Buck wasn’t going to take no for an answer.
So, now here you were in Marge’s backyard surrounded by men and their partners. The only people you knew were the hosts, so you sat on the steps of the back porch with Marge beside you. Marge also didn’t know many of the guests given the fact everyone was Buck’s friend from the military, so she kept you company as she watched Buck man the grill with a few other guys beside him.
Bucky was among them, standing right next to his best friend and sipping on a beer as he talked. Every now and again, he would run a hand through his hair to push some of his loose curls, and you couldn’t deny the fact that he was attractive as you found yourself admiring him from a distance.
“Are you going to say something to him?” Marge asked you as she swished around the lemonade in her glass. She had been watching you this whole time as you practically drooled in the direction of the grill.
“Of course not,” you say as you turn your attention back to her, not before glancing around to see if anyone else had caught you staring.
Thankfully some of the women had formed a little group and were laughing and gossiping amongst themselves, so there was little chance anyone had noticed you.
“And why not?” asked Marge with furrowed brows. “He’s a nice guy, I promise.”
“I’m sure he is, but it’s not like I know what to say. Plus look at him, he’s way out of my league,” you reply as you take a sip of lemonade from your own glass.
“No he’s not, he’s just like any other guy,” she scoffs followed by a laugh.
“And just like with any other guy, I have nothing to talk about. What do we even have in common? He also just got back from a war camp in Europe, what if I say something that triggers him?
“You’re overthinking. Just start off with a simple hello, and then go from there. He’s a huge flirt so knowing him he’ll do most of the talking,” she smiles.
She was always so optimistic about these kinds of things, but you would be too if you were getting married to a guy who basically worships you.
You quickly finish the last of your lemonade before standing up. “I’m going to get a refill,” you mumble as you walk up the steps and into the house. You needed an excuse to get away from the conversation, and to get out of the heat. The sundress you were wearing was cute and gave you airflow, but it also exposed your arms and legs to harsh sun.
You head into the kitchen and open the fridge to take out the pitcher of lemonade Marge had made earlier in the day. After refilling your glass, you thought it was best to linger in the kitchen for a bit longer and decided to grab a plate of fruit out of the fridge to keep you busy.
Just as you jump up on the kitchen counter to get comfortable, you hear the back door opening. Next thing you know, you see Bucky walking into the kitchen, letting out a sigh that seems to be of exhaustion. He flashes you a smile when he notices you, before proceeding to grab another beer out of the fridge.
“You’re Marge’s friend right?” he asks as he shuts the door and turns to face you.
“Yep,” is all you say before sticking a grape in your mouth.
“I’m John, but everyone calls me Bucky,” he says. He makes direct eye contact as sticks a hand out for you to shake, which you do, before popping the cap off his beer.
“So I’ve heard. I’ve seen your picture in Marge’s letters,” you respond as you focus your attention on the plate in your hands and begin moving some fruit around.
“Oh, yeah? Did I atleast look good in those pictures? Buck never lets me read his letters,” He smirks as he leans against the counter opposite from you.
You almost choke on the piece of fruit you had just placed in your mouth from his statement. You feel your face and ears turning warm so you turn your head and look out the kitchen window to avoid his gaze.
You stop yourself from smiling and cover it by clearing your throat. “Well  you were in a uniform and in black and white, so I couldn’t really tell.”
“Understandable, black and white photos can be misleading,” he jokes, taking a swig from his bear. There’s a short silence that follows that isn’t completely awkward, but not exactly comfortable to you either. You hope he doesn’t notice.
The silence is interrupted by the back door opening and Marge sticking her head inside. She grins as her eyes flicker between you and Bucky before stopping on you to say, “Are you coming back out or what?”
“In a second, I’m just going to cool off in here for a bit,” you tell her. She gives you a nod before closing the door.
“Not a fan of big gatherings, I take it,” Bucky says once Marge is gone.
“What makes you say that?” you steal a glance at him before looking back out the window.
You smile as you watch Marge join Buck at the grill, making him turn his head to give her a quick kiss.
“I can tell you’re avoiding going back outside, and I don’t blame you. I’m doing the same thing myself,” he answers.
“What are you avoiding?” you finally turn your head to face him.
“Nothing specific really, I’m just not in the mood for conversating and answering people’s questions right now. That doesn’t include you though,” he looks over at you with a small smile. ” I used to love being around people and having fun, but now all I want to do is leave.”
You watch as Bucky stares at the wall, going distant. His mood seems to have shifted from the one he had when he first stepped foot in the kitchen. “Everything okay?”
Your voice interrupts his thoughts and brings him back to the present. “Yeah, I’m fine…I’m just…I can tell I’m a different person ever since I got back, and I’m not sure I like this version of me.” He sets his beer on the counter and folds his arms, no longer in the mood to drink it.
“I don’t think anyone expects you to be the same.”
“Well yeah, it’s just the fact that everyone I meet from now on will only know this version of me. They won’t know how different I was before the war, and they won’t understand what I’ve been through. Like Buck has Marge to talk to, and she understands because of the letters he would send her. I don’t have that,” Bucky says before adding, “I’m sorry, I don’t mean to dump this all on you.”
You just give him a smile. Even though you will never understand completely what Bucky went through, you do have some grasp on what he’s feeling. To you it’s obvious that he puts on a mask when he’s around people, and won’t let his feelings show unless he’s alone – harboring his emotions.
“I know how close you are with Buck, have you ever told him about how you felt? It always helps to talk to someone.” you tell him.
He shakes his head, “No, I don’t want to bother him. He has his own problems.”
“I’m sure he wouldn’t mind,” you tell him, but he just shakes his head again. “Well...I know we’ve just met, but you could talk to me. I mean, you just opened up to me in a kitchen within ten minutes of meeting me. I’m obviously a great listener Only if you want to, though,” you end with a hopeful smile.
Bucky finally looks away from the wall to look you in the eye with his eyebrows raised. “Really?” he asks and you nod. “That would be nice.”
And that’s where the bond between the two of you started, and it only continued to grow stronger. You would meet up with him for drinks, lunch, or just for a walk through the park. Bucky would tell you everything, from him joining the military and meeting Buck to what he has experienced throughout the past few years. You could tell that he would get emotional when he brought up certain topics, but he never cried around you, even though you always encouraged him to let his feelings out.
One day when he invited you to dinner, you brought it up to Marge. She quickly got excited and said it was a date, but you just brushed it off and told her it was just another casual meeting. Nonetheless, you still decided to put effort into your appearance – more than you normally do – and once the dinner was over, you realized she was right.
Bucky ended up confessing to you how his feelings for you have grown over the past few weeks. At first you were shocked, but when you realized he was being serious, you admitted that you felt the same way.
You didn’t care that Bucky thought he was a ruined person with a lot of baggage, everyone has their hardships, after all. Bucky loved how you enjoyed being with him after everything he had told you, and how you accepted him for who he is now.
When you eventually told Marge that you and Bucky were official, she wasn’t surprised at all and brought up how she always said you would find someone. When Bucky had told his best friend, Buck was happy for him and gave Bucky his fair share of I told you so’s.

Yo me again lol, after reading that lil comfort Simon fic u did me , was curious to how the other 141 boys + König would react to sad fem reader just wanting to be held 👀
141 + König & How They Would React to You Wanting to be Held
You know I got you!
Tumblr media
Captain Price
He's a big teddy bear, forreal now. Like always giving the best hugs, and always encourages you with little pats on the back, his voice as smooth as honey when he asks you if you're okay.
He always knew when you were having an emotional day, and was always ready to be your support.
Hates seeing you cry, it nearly brings this old man to tears.
But he enjoys holding you, enjoys being the one that makes you feel better and back to your normal self.
In fact, he was about to check on you before you knock on his office door.
You meet his eyes with your swollen ones, slightly puffy from stuffing your face into your pillow while you cried. Before you could say anything, you could hear the concern in his tone.
"You a'right there, kid?" he tilted his head, putting all of his attention on you.
You bit the inside of your cheek as you thought about it. "Not really."
"Ah, I knew it," he chuckled as he leaned back in his desk chair. "Wanna talk about it?"
"No," you shrugged. "'M fine. Jus' wanna be held. Could you help me with that?"
He pat his lap as he belted out a hearty chuckle. "Right, come on, then."
This. This is what made him happy. It made his day when he made yours better. He gently patted your back while you got comfy, resting your head on his chest for God knows how long. It just felt nice to be in his strong, warm embrace. For Christ's sake, the man even put out his cigar to attend to you - fully.
You went to sit up but he pulled you back into his chest. "Nope, not done holding you yet." He didn't say it outright, but he needed it, too. Plus him holding you there while you playfully tried to get away made you giggle, which he loved to hear.
John 'Soap' MacTavish
Absolutely elated that you wanted him to hold you.
100% will put down anything he's doing to make you feel better.
Really good at comforting you with his words, he's so selfless.
He knew when you were sad, but never pushed as to not intrude in your personal space and privacy, but if you ever needed to talk, he was more than happy to lend an ear.
"Easy there, lass," he laughed as you plopped down on the sofa next to him, playfully pushing his arm away to lay on his chest. He gratefully pulled you into a tight embrace, and although it was an awkward position, holding you felt natural.
"Thanks, Johnny," you smiled, sinking down further where you lay on his belly. He swore besides Ghost, you were the only other one who could get away with calling him 'Johnny'. "You're really comfy."
"Aye, I bet y'are comfy there," he chuckled. "Did somethin' happen? Can tell yer sad, lass."
"Nothing happened, I suppose. Just... sad. You know?"
"Yeah."
"What do you do when you're sad, Johnny?" you asked.
"Usually go make you laugh," he smirked. "Always works. Seeing you smile makes my day."
"How sweet, but now I'll think every time you joke with me that you're sad," you frowned, looking up at him.
"Ah, it never lasts long, don't worry, bonnie," his eyes sparkled as he looked down at you with a wide smile plastered across his face.
Kyle 'Gaz' Garrick
A literal cuddle bug.
Was shy about holding you at first, but felt pure bliss when you two embraced.
Doesn't always know what to say, but he holds you so tight your brain shuts up.
When he does talk, his voice is very smooth.
You can hear his heartbeat fasten while you lay on his chest.
He was laying on the couch, minding his business, almost dozing off at the comfort of the sofa until he heard footsteps, specifically yours enter the room. His eyes widen as he sees your slumped shoulders, feeling your sadness radiate off of you. Concerned, he sits up. "Hey, you okay there?"
"Never better," you joked, tip-toeing a few inches closer to him. "I... have a question."
"I might have an answer, shoot."
"I was just wondering if you could hold me?" you asked nicely.
For a minute he sat there, looking you up and down as if 'are you sure?' and stammering as he found his words, shifting on the couch thinking of a comfy way to hold you. "W-would you like to lay on top of me?"
"As long as you hold me tight for a while, it doesn't matter."
It may have been awkward at first, but you two soon found comfort. You softly chuckled as you heard how fast his heart was pacing, poor guy was so nervous. Of course he liked you, but he didn't expect you to come to him to make you feel better.
He calmed down eventually, wrapping his arms around you tightly. "Starting to feel a little better?"
"Yeah, actually," you sigh. "Comfy... Might fall asleep."
He laughed as he agreed.
Simon 'Ghost' Riley
As per my last little one-shot, he never hesitated to hold you or even listen to you, give you advice when you sought it. He was a great Lieutenant first, but an even better friend, partner.
God, did he hate to hear and see you cry.
You were too good, too amazing to feel sad, and he wished he could take it all away. He'd take it away and go through it himself if he could.
You were always afraid you made him mad, but it was quite the opposite. He was proud you came to him. It helped his sense of responsibility, and helped him more than he thought it would, or could. Quite therapeutic for the two of you, if I must say.
You two understood each other on a different level than the others.
You didn't come to dinner, and that's when he knew you needed him. First off, you needed to eat. But more importantly, you needed to be mentally okay to eat proper. He excused himself from dinner before coming to your door, softly knocking 3 times before coming in worried.
He sighed as he spotted you in fetal position, holding your knees to your chest.
"Darlin'," he sat down. "Why didn't you come to me?"
"I didn't want to bother you," you whispered.
"W-why would you have bothered me?" It almost offended him you'd think you were a bother to him. You were anything but that.
"Don't know, I'm sorry," you apologize.
"No don't be-" he sighed, laying behind you, shifting behind you. He pulled your back into his broad chest, looking over at your beautiful face that he wished was smiling and happy. "Hey."
"Hey," you chirped.
"Now I'm goin' to hold you here until I can make you laugh, am I clear?" he chuckled, his voice raised in concern. "Let me make it better, luv."
"You always do, Simon," you start to smile. "Always. Thank you."
Alejandro Vargas
Such a romantic mannnn 😍.
A natural flirt, trying to take your mind off of whatever was bothering you which you refused to ever tell a soul.
Quick to ask if anyone hurt you and if he needed to take care of it, anger seeping through quickly before he learned that you were just sad and needed to be held.
You come up to him, frown on your face and your eyes still wet from just crying.
"Mi amor, who hurt you, huh?!" he cupped your face, his voice raised as he felt adrenaline rush through his veins.
You shook your head. "No one. Can you just hold me? It'd be really nice right now."
"Si, of course, of course," he rasped, guiding you to his room with his hand on the small of your back. "Hermosa, you should not be feeling so sad."
"I-I can't help it, I wish I wasn't," you complained.
He laid you down in his bed where he lay next to you gently. Not leaving any space between your bodies, he pulled you to lay on his chest. "Are you okay? Do you need anything - water, a snack, a hot or cold cloth, huh? Nothing for the princesa, yeah? Alright, okay, now come here, just lie there and look pretty, okay?"
You snuggled into him, cherishing his scent as he calmed you. He breathed deeply as he realized you just... needed this. It's been a while since he's held anyone, so this was much needed for him, as well.
König
Our shy little baby 🥺.
Hated when you were sad, but he was far too anxious to push it or ask about it unless you came to him.
He'd find himself pacing, hoping you were truly okay.
He wanted to knock on your door, hold you so close and pluck all the sadness out of your brain.
While everyone else was on a mission, you stayed back along with König, and while you felt like you needed someone, you didn't want to bother him, but you figured why not? The worst he can do... is not be there for you, which, to be fair, wasn't his responsibility, but it would sure help.
You knock on his door shyly, quietly and would be surprised if he even heard you. He opened it shyly as well, his eyes looking far down until they finally met yours. "Oh, uh, hi!"
"Hey, König... Can I come in? It's okay if-" you hold your hands up as if you were trying to defend yourself, not sure if you're making him uncomfortable.
"Ja, come in," he opened the door fully. You look around his tidy room, and set your eyes upon his humongous bed. You stand awkwardly there as you two look at each other nervously.
"I'm just going to ask it, so, König, I have a question..." your eyes met the ground.
"Okay..."
"Would you be willing to hold me? I'm- I feel sad and I just-"
He shook his head eagerly as he made his way to his bed, patting it, inviting you to join. "Of course, Schatz, come, sit."
You waddle over to his bed, having to jump to get on it. He was nervous because of his size, most people were scared of him based on it alone, but here you were, asking him to hold you in your time of need, making him feel proud.
He scooted up, patting his chest excitingly waiting for you to lie on it. He seemed more excited to hold you than you were excited to be held by him. The quietness was peaceful, and it wasn't long before you found yourself falling asleep on him.
He hummed, chuckling as he felt himself drifting off into a slumber himself. For once in a very long time, his anxiety dissipated for a moment, as long as you were there laying on him. He wished he could do this more often, for you and himself. He wondered if this would have helped him during his anxiety attacks.

A/N - I hope this is something along the lines of what you were asking for! I apologize, I wrote this while I'm halfway falling asleep so if I lost it here and there I am sorry and can redo it if you want :) Thanks again for another request, please don't hesitate to send as much as you would like <3

Origami Tigers
It had been a long time since you had crossed his mind. But, as he gingerly plucked the intricately folded origami tiger from his desk, he knew you were there. You were on his base, somewhere.
Part of him wanted to rush off to find you. He let his thumb slide over the shining golden paper, thin as tissue, folded and folded and folded in on itself to make this tiny, stalking beast. It was soft, and so carefully made, and it reminded John of those same qualities that he had found in you.
Why had you left?
It had been out of your control. Your career and his career and the bombs and the guns… it was all a blur. But, ten years had passed since he had held evidence of your paper menagerie in his fingers, and even the thought of your return made his body tingle with the numbness of his shock.
The tiger fit in his chest pocket, right over his heart, and he went on the hunt.
He stalked through the main rooms, searching faces, looking in office windows, waiting for that shock of hair to catch his eye, that shallow sloping shoulder, those tiny frag scars on your left hand…
Just when he thought he had lost you again, he spotted you. You were sitting on top of the hood of his TAC-V, flipping through pages on your datapad, lost in your work. He couldn’t help but sigh at the sight of you. Ten years had been good to you. A woman’s wide hips, a body full of hard work and muscles to show for it, that same glowing skin. He felt like a starving man who had just been fed. He was a machine that had just been plugged back in, a paint pot ready for a brush. Alive.
“Sparrow?” His voice cracked, low and dark in the quiet of the warehouse.
You turned to him and took him in. He had deep smile lines at the corners of his eyes, and his beard had grown out in full. But, that voice. He was your John.
“Hey, tiger,” you grinned, “You found me.”
You jumped down from the vehicle, not knowing how this first meeting would go. Would he be distant? Had he moved on? Did he string a golden ring through his neck chain every morning, or was he single? Did he even want you anymore?
Your questions were all answered at once.
He scooped you up in his arms, big and heavy, crushing you to his chest. You cried out in relief, saying his name, muffled, your face pressed into his broad chest,
“John…”
“Little bird.”
He pulled you away from him, cupping your cheeks in his hands, and you saw those bright blue irises gleam with fresh, unshed tears. Worry and concern were at war with hope and certainty all over his face, and without so much as a breath of hesitation, he crashed into you with a kiss.
The softness of his lips was so familiar, so comfortingly known, your body responded on instinct, remembering all of the rewards that came with this feeling of his skin on your skin. You celebrated in each other, tasting the inside of your mouths, licking each others’ tongues, trying to scent the other’s past.
It was as if each kiss and suck and nip at each other was asking: Where have you been?
Another kiss answered back: Away from you, my love.
A deep caress with his tongue begged for clarity: Away? Come back to me.
You convinced him with a chaste kiss on his shaven chin: I’m here.
And here was all that mattered.

This was a bad idea. You told yourself it was a bad idea and still went through with it, so you only had to blame yourself.
Your whole life you had seen the Pogue versus Kook dynamic for yourself; you just never thought you’d become a piece of it.
John B gave you a sense of adventure, of something new. Running to Chapel Hill with him had been so easy. You were usually a ball of anxiety, but he made everything seem like it would be okay, no matter the outcome.
Which led you here, walking your bike through the wooded area of The Cut with John B by your side. You knew it wouldn’t be easy to try and get along with his friend group, but unfortunately, where John B went, JJ, Kie, and Pope weren’t far behind.
“I’m really nervous about this, John B,” You admitted as the Chateau came into view. “She’s not gonna be happy.”
John B shrugged slightly, apparently not realizing the bomb he was about to implode in his own house, “She’ll be fine. It’ll be cool, I promise.”
You shook your head, not really convinced but also not wanting to cause a scene over it. “So you guys found the gold, but under an axe murderer’s house?”
“Well, yeah. Kind of. I mean, the only thing is the well is super sketchy deep.”
You looked over at him, the excitement in his eyes making you slightly jealous that you’d missed out. Normally, you’d run at the idea of half the shit they got themselves into, but John B’s presence was almost addicting.
“Wish I was there,” You joked, leaning into him slightly as he took the bike from your hold so you could walk closer to him.
“You will be, tonight,” He smiled at you, warmth taking over as you blushed. John B had managed to make it feel like you guys had been close friends your whole life, and you were slowly falling in love with that feeling.
“Is um… is that okay?” You knew it wasn’t, but you had to ask.
John B shifted the bike into his casted hand, reaching the other one over for you to grab so he could squeeze it. “Yeah, it will be. And if they push back, we’ll figure something out. Vlad and Val gotta stick together, right?”
You nodded, but John B could tell you weren’t convinced and it was a little bit of a hit to your confidence. Kiara had never really liked you, instantly envious of your life and the way John B, JJ, and Pope always had heart eyes when they saw you. She saw you as a threat and that meant she wouldn’t be happy about your involvement in the slightest, especially when she put together that you were more than friends with John B.
“You’re a bad liar, but I’ll go with it,” You teased quietly, “If she’s gonna get territorial, I’m not fighting her, John B.”
“Hey, hey, just listen.” John B tugged on your hand so you’d stop walking and face him. “You’re a part of this too, okay? You got us the plat map. You got me into Chapel Hill. Your dad offered to cover for me. Once we get with everybody, they’re gonna be excited.”
You tried to let his enthusiasm sway you, but it wasn’t working well. And as Kiara walked out of the Chateau to see you on the couch next to John B, you knew you were right.
“No fucking way. You brought her here? So what? She’s in on this now?” Annoyance and anger were evident in her voice and you shrunk back into the couch as she practically bitched at you.
Pope shrugged. He had always thought you were super nice. He delivered groceries to your home and you’d overtipped each time, knowing the money was needed more in his pocket than yours.
“Look, all I care about is her cut comes out of your share,” JJ pointed toward the boy sitting next to you. “No offense.”
You shook your head at JJ, a small smile on your face. A winky response told you he was kidding. Similar to Pope, you’d seen JJ plenty at the country club when he played server for a few hours.  You tried to request him each time you and Sarah visited, keeping him away from Rafe, Topper, and Kelce as best as possible. And you didn’t do it to prove a point, you did it because you cared. You’d watched some of the best people in your life get treated so poorly just for living on the other half of the island.
“You know, I don’t remember taking a vote,” Kiara continued, “This is our thing. A Pogue thing. We were all extremely comfortable until you brought her.”
You tried to refrain from rolling your eyes at her unnecessary anger. “Stop talking about me like I’m not here!” You defended.
“Then leave.”
JJ coughed on his weed pen from the chair next to you, obviously uncomfortable with the growing tension. “I… am remaining indifferent.”
“Do you even know what that means?”
“Of course, I know what that means, Pope, I-”
Kiara glared at both boys, upset that it seemed nobody was taking her side.
You shook your head, realizing this was causing more trouble than you intended. “I told you,” You mumbled to John B.
“Told him what, exactly? That you’re a liar?”
All niceties went out the window at the accusation and you faced Kiara with an anger you’d hidden for a while. “No, that you’re a shit-talking bitch! You know nothing about me, Kiara. And you just hate me for no reason, so-”
“Everybody shut up!” John B yelling had you flinching back into your seat, the emotions overwhelming as silence fell around you. He looked at the curly-haired girl standing in front of you. “Kie, you are my best friend, right? And Y/N, you’re…”
The hesitation in his voice made your heart skip but you nodded in agreement, wanting nothing more than to push past the friendship boundary into something bigger.
“...You’re my girlfriend.”
Kiara crossed her arms over her chest. “She’s your girlfriend now? What was all that talk about you were just using her for information? Get a map, cut her loose.”
The snide comment hit you like a smack in the face as you glanced over at John B. The way he refused to look at you told you it was true and you frowned. “You said you were using me?”
“No?”
“Yeah, you did.” Three voices agreed in return and you closed your eyes in frustration.
Another strike to the heart. Shaking your head to yourself, you got up off the couch. “I’m just gonna go. Thanks for ruining another good thing for me, Kiara. Always appreciated.”
Without another word, you shoved open the screen door and let it slam behind you. Tears blurred your vision as you grabbed your bike from its spot against the house and started walking.
John B was yelling your name behind you, but you refused to stop. The back of your hand brushed away tears as fast as they came. You knew, you knew this was a bad idea. You were so quick to trust someone with your feelings and it always bit you in the ass.
“Hey, hey!” His Converse crunched leaves on the ground as he tried to catch up to you.
You tossed your bike aside when he grabbed your shoulder and you turned to him to let him see the full result of his comment. “Why did you lie to me?” You asked, voice cracking against your wishes. “John B, I told you I was already nervous to get involved with her, and then you… you just used me?”
“I’m sorry! That- it wasn’t like that! At first, yeah it started off that way, but love walked in, okay? I didn’t expect it, but I’m not gonna act like it isn’t true,” He defended.
You laughed and looked away from him. “God, I know better. I know better and I still let you walk in my life and take what you needed because I wanted you. I still want you, even knowing you just used me to your benefit. That’s not love.”
John B opened his mouth to argue but apparently couldn’t find the words. You shook your head and pulled your bike up from the ground, shrugging out of his grip as you climbed on. “Hope it was worth it, John B. Tell Kiara she won, again.”

Daniel was your best friend. He had protected you whenever your ex-boyfriend got angry, finding out that you were not into him anymore. This ended up in Daniel, leaving a black eye and a bloody nose. After the fight, you helped him and brought him to your convertible. You opened the door and sat him in the passenger seat with a napkin held to his cut, temporarily stopping the blood.
You drove to your house as he held a napkin to the cut on his face. You put the radio on to take over the silence wrapping around each other. You sang quietly and tapped your wheel on your driveway.
You opened the door and helped Daniel out of the car and held his waist, and his arm was wrapped around your shoulder. His cologne took over these senses as you pulled him into your house. You let him go grab stuff from your medicine cabinet as he walked to your bedroom and sat on your bed. He admired your room, running his hand down your comforter.
You anxiously ran into your room and shut the door softly, your hands filled with medicine, and things to help with the cuts on his face. You sat on your bed in a cris-cross position and wet the cotton pad with an antiseptic to begin running over the open wounds. You padded it to the cut above his eyebrow, and he stared at you with a look of appreciation. It was comfortable tranquility, as the only thing heard was the crickets outside, the passing cars, and your soft breathing as you concentrated on the Jersey boy in front of you.
That is when you realized that you were in love with Daniel. His brown eyes were half-lidded, and his cut lip was pouted. He smiled at you and said, “What I got somethin’ on my face?” You smiled and shook your head, “No I jjustcan't believe you did that for me. Thank you. Really.”
He quickly closed his eyes when the antiseptic touched his cut lips, and hissed in a breath. You let out a soft apology and take it off your lip. “It’s alright. I swear. It just stung.” You put the pad to the side to bandage his cut with a butterfly stitch and pull it away from his face. “Your lip is a gonna take, maybe a week to heal. Just be careful okay?” You tell him before getting up to throw away all your pads and put the antiseptic away. He nods yat ou and smiles.
Once you put everything away, you returned to the room. He stares at you before asking, “How did you know how to do all of that?” You sit down next to him and fall into your bed and huff. “One of my family members is a nurse. They taught me after one of my cousins got hurt real bad. They wanted us to be all safe so we were taught how to stitch things up.” You explained that he had watched your face. “Oh wow, Ma’ usually cleans me up. She would get mad if she saw what I looked like right now. Speaking of her, I should call her.” He speaks.
You point him to your telephone that sits on your side table, and he punches in his house phone number, and it begins to ring. He sits on the call with his mom, explaining how he is staying the night at a friend's house, he will go to school with such a friend tomorrow morning. He mumbles her about how he loves her. You hear a thick accent telling him to speak up, and he does, finally saying “I love you Ma. Goodnight.” You smiled at him, domestically, making your body tingle.
You're in love. With your best friend. The beautiful, handsome, strong, and hilarious Daniel Larusso. You cannot blame yourself, and many girls begin their affection for him. You were definitely not the only one.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” He states Before you realize that you have been zoned out on him. Thinking about him. You catch yourself and look away, going to stare at the many romance movie posters you have staples on your wall. Olivia Newton-John staring back at you. “Nothing. I just blanked out and didn't realize where I was looking.” He turned around on your bed, kicked his conversation off the floor, and began lying on your bed.
You begin and turn your head to look at him and he turns as well; staring into your eyes, “Why did you do that for me? Truly. Like, why did you get your ass kicked for me?” You question him before he blows out air.
“Well, I mean, I felt like I had to. You are my best friend, and I think it is my duty to make sure you are safe. And, gosh, watching that dick try and grab you made me angry. I'll always protect you.” He turned to look up at the ceiling and his hands on his chest as you continued staring at him.
He looks at you and you gain eye contact. You put your hand on his face gently and pull your lips together. You can feel that your hand touches your waist softly. You pull away and let out your breath. “I think.. I think I love you anniously. And I do not know what to do. You're my best friend.” You admitted. All of your feelings began to pool in your chest, threatening to come out if they were not let out. “You’re so kind to me. How could I not love you? You are the best guy ever. So many people would agree.” It comes pouring out your hold onto him and feels so close to you.
“If it helps, I've loved you too. I remember seeing you and thinking you were the prettiest girl I've ever seen.” The patient mumbled into your shoulder. You laid him further into him. “Does this mean we're dating now?” Daniel always tries to make light of things, which is what he is doing now. You take your head out of his chest and place your lips once again. “Yes. Definitely yes.” You told him to lie down after going back.
You woke up the next morning, sunlight pouring through your window and laying on Daniel's warm skin. You admired him for some time as he slept. You were so lucky. Maybe you can now officially understand Mrs. Olivia Newton-John when she sings about being hopelessly devoted. Now, you have your boy to be devoted to. Hopelessly, devoted.

The funeral was what you would expect it to be like. It was beautiful. It was on a gloomy day and it was full of sadness. The day had finally come to all mourn the death of your mother. You gave the eulogy and were so close to not crying. It was the end that made you break. Your voice cracking as you cried in front of everyone.
It was hard but you finally finished your speech, hot tears slipping down your cheeks as you delivered it.
The pogues were there to support you and be there for you which you appreciated. The death of your mother has come as quite a shock. Your grieving process has been a mess. You weren't eating and you were sleeping too much. It was hard even getting out of bed. The loss was taking a toll on you.
The reception was held at your house and by the end of it you were exhausted. People offered you their condolences and you herd enough "sorry for your loss" to last a lifetime. It was hard socializing. You just wanted to crawl into your bed and grieve.
When the reception was over you felt a weight lifted off your shoulders. It was all over. The pogues stayed after all the guests left to make sure you were ok.
"Are you alright?" Kie asked as she took a seat at your kitchen table.
You released a breath you didn't know you were holding and than spoke, "fine, just tired."
All of your friends were looking at you as if you might break. You hated it.
"We're all here for you y/n" John B mentioned.
You nodded and gave a reassuring smile.
"Thank you."
You lifted your head and caught a glance at JJ and his expression looked worried. You just about wanted to burst into tears and have him hold you with the way he was looking at you.
But you didn't. Instead you steadied yourself and spoke, "I really appreciate all you guys being here for me. It means so much."
With that you excused yourself and JJ followed you upstairs leaving the rest of the crew to clean up. They understood you had a hard day and you needed a moment to breathe.
When you reached your room you leaned against your door and exhaled.
You knew JJ was right behind you so you weren't surprised when you herd a knock.
You picked yourself up from leaning against the wall and faced the door. "Come in" you added.
JJ came in and shut the door behind him. He was quick to scoop you up in his arms. He held you tight and feeling the safety and comfort of the hug you practically fell apart.
JJ could feel your tears wetting himself and he felt so bad. He wished he could take your pain away. He hated seeing and hearing you cry.
"Sh sh sh" JJ whispered. He started rubbing your back and you pushed your face deeper into his neck.
JJ would hold you as long as you needed. If you needed him he was there. You took yourself from resting on his chest to facing him. JJ immediately cupped your face and used his thumb to swipe away still falling tears.
"JJ" you said voice breaking.
"What baby."
"She's really gone. I don't know what to do."
"Hey hey it's gonna be ok. I'm here for you ok? I'm right here." JJ soothed.
You only nodded face contorting back into a cry. You hugged JJ as you cried hard, sobbing into his shoulder.
JJ walked you over to the bed and got you to lay down with him. You laid your head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat. The sound soothing you.
You sniffled and JJ started stroking your hair.
"I think she's looking down on you and she's so proud of you." JJ muttered.
"She will always be with you, in here." JJ said pointing to your heart.
"And she's always watching over you. She's your guardian angel." JJ spoke trying to take away your hurt.
You simply nodded appreciating his efforts.
The day was a lot on you. Lots of emotions. Your puffy eyes were closing and your body was telling you it was tired.
You were almost on your way to dreamland when you herd a knock on the door.
"I'll get it" JJ suggested. He slowly lifted you off him and headed towards the door.
When JJ opened the door he was met with John B.
"What's up man" JJ grumbled.
"Well we were wondering if we could spend the night. We don't want y/n to feel alone tonight." John B voiced.
"That's really sweet of you" JJ announced.
"Of course you guys can." You said who herd the conversation from your bed.
You rolled yourself out of bed and walked over to the doorway.
"I'll help you guys with your beds" you responded.
You JJ and John B made your way back downstairs. You went to the hall closet and got out two air mattresses and a bunch of blankets.
You rearranged the living room so the air mattresses could fit. Then you handed John B the blankets for himself, Kiara, Pope, and Sarah.
"Let me know if you guys need anything else. Please don't be shy" You assured them.
"Alright thanks y/n" John B mentioned.
"Thanks for staying" you responded.
Another series of thank you's and goodnight's echoed from the living room directed at you.
You gave everyone a wave and said goodnight and proceeded up the stairs with JJ.
"It's nice of them to stay" you spoke to JJ once you reached the safety of your room.
"Yeah we're here to look out for you. We got a good group of friends. They'd do anything for us. For you" JJ reasoned.
"Yeah they're the best."
The two of you went back to your position on the bed. Both of you snuggled together. JJ combing his fingers through your hair and whispering words of praise.
"I love you JJ."
"I love you too baby" JJ responded.
With that you were ready for sleep to take you after your exhausting day you had.
———
The next morning you could tell your eyes were swollen. You shifted in your spot and rolled over.
JJ let out a grunt at your movements. His arms came up and he wrapped around you from behind. He inhaled your scent and nuzzled his nose in the back of your hair.
"Stop moving" he whispered.
You began to shift around to face him.
"No stay here" JJ suggested.
"JJ i have guests I should go check on them."
"Fine."
You stumbled out of bed and JJ was quick to follow you wanting to be by your body heat.
When you descended the stairs you were met with a table full of food and a bouquet of nice fresh flowers.
JJ bumped into your back and when he saw the table all set up he uttered “woah.”
“You guys did all this?” You asked.
“Yeah just for you.” John B mentioned.
The group of pogues gathered around the table with small smiles on their faces. And even with your mom gone you knew that you would be ok eventually as long as you had the pogues and JJ.

everyone finding out - a jj maybank teen pregnancy headcanon series
pt 1 of a little headcanon three parter inspired by all the tiktoks i keep seeing of friendgroups raising a surprise baby lol
second part - how everyone is with pregnant!reader (out soon)
You and JJ were always safe
well
maybe not always, but drunk hookups with your boyfriend were typically lazy and sloppy anyway
there's obviously no way you could've expected this outcome
Yet, here you were, sitting anxiously on Kie's bathroom floor both her and Sarah sitting beside you
with a test in your hands
a test that proved that yeah this outcome was very possible
"oh, babe" Sarah was the first to see the two little pink lines, pulling you into her side.
Kiara took the test from your hands, replacing it with her own and squeezing just slightly as if to ground you
"we're gonna be okay, we'll figure it out, no matter what you end up deciding" Kie said softly, Sarah nodded in agreement, rubbing your shoulder.
John B was the next person to find out, he had walked in on you and Sarah talking about it the next day.
"If you tell JJ, I'll kill you" Sarah threatened, before John B could even react to the information at hand
"Holy shit, you're really pregnant"
JB was mostly just shocked, matching your energy of "how did this even happen?" when knowing full well how it happened.
Seeing John B's reaction just made you more worried about JJ's not even trying to hide the tears that immediately started pouring.
"shit, y/n, hey" John B came closer putting his hands on your arms.
"You're going to be a wonderful mom, okay?"
That only made you cry harder, getting a hug in response.
"I don't want him to be upset" you cried into his shoulder.
"I know, It's gonna be okay, we'll figure it out" he mirrored the girls' words.
Pope was the last to find out
besides JJ of course
"you're kidding"
but of course the look on your face has Pope quickly coming to terms with the fact that you weren't kidding
"Oh my god, you're not kidding"
Pope stared at you for what felt like forever, mouth just slightly open.
"Pope, please say something, your catching flies" you sighed
He shut his mouth, "does JJ know?"
"Not yet, I'm too freaked out to tell him still"
"Are you keeping it?"
"I think so" you whispered, earning a sigh
"Alright, Uncle Pope, reporting for duty, right?" He gave you a small smile, getting you to finally return one.
"You're gonna have to tell JJ next though,"
"I know"
This one you had to do alone, no Kie and Sarah, no John B, no Pope.
just You, and JJ.
you wiped the sweat off your palms onto your shorts as JJ pulled up to your house on his motorbike
"Hey, mama, what'd you wanna talk about?" He got off with ease
Mama now had a whole new meaning and he was clueless
"It's really important, JJ" the waterworks started up almost immediately
JJ wasted no time in doing a little sprint up to you, hands landing on your cheeks to swipe away any tears
"What's goin on?"
Now or never
"I'm pregnant"
he paused his hand movements, eyebrows furrowing
"oh shit"
oh shit is right
"I don't know if we're keep it or-" "We're keeping it, i mean, do you wanna keep it? if you wanna keep it, I wanna keep it" he rambled, his decision clear as day
"How the hell are we gonna make that work, J?"
"I'll get a second job and-" he cut himself off, realizing what the hell was going on
"Holy shit, you're pregnant"
He ran a hand through his hair
"You'd be a great mom, Y/n, you know that?"
You almost laughed at his words
"c'mere" he pulled you into a hug, arms going over your shoulders and yours finding their way around his waist
"we'll figure it out" you mumbled into him
"yeah, we will"

Baby's first Thanksgiving with rip wheeler! please and thank you <333
Rachel.....dahling.....why must you make me an offer I can't refuse??!!!! (lol).
Tumblr media
Neither you nor Rip were awoken by the alarm on his phone that usually awoke the two of you during the work week, but rather, the cries of your four month old daughter, Evelyn.
"Relax sugar bear, I've got her," Rip groaned, leaning over to kiss your cheek.
You awoke again, maybe a few minutes or even a half hour, to the snow falling heavily outside and Rip re-entering your room with Baby Evie who had finally calmed down.
"You know young lady," he said, pretending to be stern with her. "Your momma needs her sleep too. We've got a big day ahead of us with all your aunts and uncles, your cousins and everybody coming over for dinner tonight."
You laughed and held out your arms to take Evelyn from your husband. "Did Rhett and the others call?" you asked him.
"Said they'd all be up from Wabang in the next hour if the snow doesn't get worse," Rip explained. "Gettin the house done's gonna be a pain in the royal ass."
You laughed as you sat back and let Evie feed for a little bit, knowing she was probably hungry. A savory smell coming from the kitchen caught you off guard. "Rip is somebody in the kitchen?"
Rip shook his head and shrugged. As soon as you could get out of bed and Evelyn had her fill, you took her right down to the kitchen to find Mo, Thomas Rainwater's right hand man, in your kitchen, peeling a rather large bag of potatoes Rip had gathered from the garden in the backyard.
"Well good morning sleepyheads," Mo greeted.
"Morning Mo," you chuckled. "How long have you been at those potatoes?"
"Been at'em for a good half hour," Mo answered. "Birds's all gutted and brining in the fridge. Don't know what the hell you want done with the corn though."
"Woah wait a sec, ya'll brought corn?" Rip asked him.
"And you mean to tell me you don't remember?" Mo questioned. "I got that shit from my neighbor."
"Wait, the old lady on the rez that owns the corn stand?"
"Of course it's the old lady you brain dead deer turd," Mo laughed. "She's the only owner of a roadside corn stand in the whole of Bozeman!"
Rip went down to the cellar pantry and came back up a few minutes later with the basket of corn, setting it beside the island counter in the kitchen. "Here's hopin we have enough."
"That shit'll feed a whole village for weeks," Mo told Rip as he peeled the potatoes. "Here, you take over the potatoes."
"Yes chef, anything you say chef," Rip chuckled.
"(Y/n) you want anything while I'm in here?" Mo asked you.
"Um just a coffee if you don't mind," you answered. It wasn't long before the coffee was brewed and Evelyn began making grabby hands for her uncle.
"Alright, alright sweetpea you come with me," Mo said, lifting Evelyn from your arms.
You slipped into the kitchen to help your husband peel the potatoes, shuck the corn and get everything ready for when the family arrived. "Well," Rip said as he began chopping the onions. "Not as chaotic as I thought her first Thanksgiving would be."
"Just you wait," you warned him. "John, Thomas, Kayce and Monica will all come traipsing through that door with something freshly dead and throw it on the counter."
Rip laughed before he kissed you. "Happy Thanksgiving sweet thing."
"Happy Thanksgiving you big weirdo," you answered.

Reunion: A Flash Fiction
Summary: October 17, 1963. Mrs. Kennedy finally returns from her trip to Greece, and her husband is waiting for her and ready to welcome her home.
Tags/Notes + Pairing: jfk x jackie kennedy, mentions of past infidelity, improved relationship, loss of child mention, caroline and john jr. are in it too lol.
Word Count: 897 words
A/N: this one is shorter and a bit messier than my last fic :,( i’ve been having quite a bit of brain fog so unfortunately some things may be a little off. sorry guys!! i hope you enjoy it <3 divider was made by @/ aquazero. hope you guys caught the jackie 2016 reference ;)
Tumblr media
Jack sits in the backseat of the car, nervously playing with his hands in the darkness. Every so often, he looks out onto the empty runway only illuminated by blinking lights. Jackie will be here any minute now, but why do those minutes have to pass so slowly?
The past few weeks had been awfully rough without Jackie; The depression and headaches he acquired from his withdrawals after finally being able to stay abstinent and cut himself away from the rest of his ‘women’ was rough. He’d been so used to that lifestyle, he never realized how addicted he was until he found himself desperately writing a letter at midnight to a woman he had ended his affair with over a year prior. When he read the letter the next morning, he embarrassingly shoved it in the bottom of his desk with the intention of discarding it.
Having to continue to mourn the loss of Patrick on his own after Jackie left was even worse. Sure, he had dealt with plenty of things on his own before, and Jackie had been there for him up until the day she left; but there were times at work where he felt so alone. He didn’t dare bother his wife about it when she was recuperating from the loss. So when he got off the phone with Jackie, there was no one to call, no one to talk to, and no one to see. Just cabinet members and paperwork. When he cried in his wife’s arms that day, he felt as if his eyes were opened to a new world. To be comforted by someone he loved dearly and not shunned for crying made him feel…loved… Though this was an incredible realization for him, he didn’t feel comfortable opening himself up like that with anyone else; at least not yet. Joan was there for him when he secluded himself in his room and didn’t come out, and he’d gotten a few sympathy calls here and there; but it just wasn’t the same as that morning when he felt Jackie lovingly wrap her arms around him as he let his emotions run like a river.
“Daddy, look!” Caroline exclaims, pointing out the window with that innocent smile she shares with her father. “I think I see mommy!” She continues, climbing over her dad and brother to see the plane landing in the once empty runway. Jack can’t help but smile at her excitement and
“I think you’re right, Buttons! Lets go out there and meet her. But stay close to me okay? Don’t run out in front of the plane before they put the stairs down.” He instructs, opening the car door and stepping out before taking Caroline and John’s hands into his.
“I wanna go on the plane!!” John shouts, pulling against his fathers hand as they approach the runway. Jack does his best to hide his own excitement as the stairs are placed in front of the door. And as soon as the door opens, Jack bends down as best he can.
“Go on, go give mommy a hug.” He tells them before rising and letting them rush off ahead of him and climb the stairs.
As Jack follows his children, he finally comes face to face with the woman he missed so dearly.
Jackie looks just as beautiful as she did when she left, and as she rises from greeting Caroline and John to look him in the eyes, she looks just as happy to see him as he does for her.
Without a word, Jack leans over and takes Jackie in his arms. His back issues and lack of experience in physical contact makes his hugs quite stiff, but Jackie doesn’t mind one bit.
Jackie pulls back slightly and wraps her arm around her husbands neck, pulling him in for a kiss.
“I missed you, Jack.” She sighs, shuffling the two of them away from the open door so that they can’t be photographed by the swarm of paparazzi outside and holding him close.
“I missed you too, Jackie…” Jack smiles, letting go of his wife and glancing at the open door leading out the crowds of photographers awaiting the First Lady’s return.
“You’ve got quite an audience out there…Are you ready?” He asks teasingly, brushing a lock of hair out of Jackie’s eyes.
“Of course, I love crowds.” She replies, her voice laced with sarcasm. She pulls away from her husband and reveals herself to the sea of cameras. They run their films and snap their flashbulbs at the family as they descend the stairs and make their way to the car waiting for them. Jackie is the first to enter the car, then the children, and finally Jack.
“It’s good to have you home, Mrs. Kennedy. Now, why don’t you tell me about Greece. I take it that you had a good time?” Jack teases, reaching his arm over their children clinging to their mother so that he can put his arm over her shoulder.
“You’ll know when we get home….” Jackie smiles back, giving her husband a discreet wink before looking down at Caroline and John, who had managed to fall asleep in their mothers lap. “But first, I think it’s time for bed.” She finishes quietly just as the car comes to a stop in front of the White House…

Revisiting a distant memory but its ex lovers with Price. Maybe some yearning? And incorporating "for the old times sake"? Thanks and happy writing!
1k game here - no more please!
GOD this one is hard!! i lovelovelovelove second chance romances (it's my favorite romance trope lol) but i really have absolutely no idea if i'm any good at writing them :')
2k of price x reader ft. reader mourning her marriage at a friend's wedding and price trying to be a good future ex-ex-husband. (btw this is laswell's wedding so we're all pretending that she says "girlfriend" instead of "wife" in game to make this work) no smut!
It's difficult not to drown your glass of wine in one long swallow, the déjà vu an almost overwhelming feeling.
You know it's not fair to Kate, but God did she have to have her wedding in the same venue as yours? Everywhere you look you're reminded of the best day of your life, and the subsequent worst months.
You take a deep breath, and try to shove all thoughts of the past out of your head.
It isn't easy these days. Even though you were the one to ask for the divorce, you've never stopped loving - stopped wanting - John. You feel the loss of him everyday, just like you had the endless weeks and months he spent deployed.
It wasn't the time away that did you in - it was the secrecy of it all. You maintain that you could've made the relationship work had you at least known where he was, or even been afforded texting rights. But it's hard to pretend you're living a normal life when you haven't heard from your husband in six weeks and you have no idea whether he's even alive.
The day Kyle came to the door instead of John, you knew you couldn't stay married to him.
He was lucky - John had been injured and sent Kyle to bring you to the hospital since he was already back on base, but you'd seen the man and broken down into sobs before he'd even managed to get a word out. The poor soldier had tried his best to tell you that your husband was alive and would be fine, but you were inconsolable.
Once you'd realized what was going on you realized the truth of your situation. John's death would break you, and you'd never recover from it.
That moment where you'd thought he was gone... it was like a part of you had died, like grief had swallowed you whole and refused to let go.
You were scared when Gaz finally explained to you what was really going on. And all at once, all the pieces of your life started to click together.
When you served John with divorce papers you told him that you couldn't handle so much time apart anymore, that you wanted more stability in your life than he could give you. But the truth is you were scared, and a growing part of you thought that maybe if you distanced yourself before he got himself killed, the inevitable grief would be easier to swallow.
You think he saw through your bravado and straight to your fear. You've never known John Price to be anything but a fighter, but he hardly hesitated when you gave him the papers with shaking hands. He raised an eyebrow, said are you sure this what you want, love? and hugged you after he signed.
You'd cried more than he had, had sobbed into his chest and clung to him to hold you together. Looking back you're embarrassed of your reaction, but at the time it truly felt like you were cutting off half of your soul.
It still feels like that most days. Sometimes you lie awake at night, haunted by the idea that you've only caused yourself more grief, that you're going to feel hurt and terrible until something or someone kills John, and then you'll have to experience that grief you fear anyways.
But you've made your bed, and now you're laying in it, cold and lonely and missing your husband.
You take a deep breath and a small sip of your wine, try to center yourself. It's difficult not to dwell on your own mistakes - perceived or real - but you're determined not to cry at Kate's wedding. You are not going to be that divorced woman. You simply refuse.
Still, it's a close call. You close your eyes and drain the glass before your fingers stop shaking, and you hate that you've got nothing to do with your hands, nothing to distract yourself with. The deep breaths don't help, and the idea of getting a bit wine-drunk looks more and more appealing.
When you open your eyes again, John stands in front of you, holding a fresh glass out in offering.
He looks good, but you already knew that. It was difficult to look anywhere but him during the service, and he caught you enough times for it to become almost humiliating. You've been telling yourself all night that you could pass the flush in your cheeks off as the heat of an outdoor ceremony, but you know he noticed.
Still, he doesn't look smug about your obvious discomfort. Silver lingings, and all.
You take the offered glass after just a moment, deciding that it might be better to bite the bullet and invite John back into your space rather than keep trying to avoid him all night. It's not like your divorce is a secret - every person in this room saw you two attend countless events together, the tension between you two is probably painfully obvious.
John steps to your side as you take a small sip, heart skipping a beat at the taste of your favorite wine.
"Where did you get this?" It's not what they're serving, or you'd probably already be well on your way to wine drunk.
He smiles softly at you, dimples covered by his beard. "I can't give away all my tricks. Then what would you keep me around for?"
You laugh a little sadly at that, and his smile grows.
Honestly, you've missed John enough that you don't even really mind if he keeps your wine hostage for the rest of the night. You're willing to keep up the facade if he is.
You take another sip and stand a bit straighter, try to prepare yourself for another conversation with your ex-husband. None of them have been easy, but it gets less and less painful to see him every time. You know he goes out of his way to make this easier on you, never once showing any hint of animosity. Besides the lack of PDA, he's hardly changed his behavior from when you were actually married.
"Are you enjoying yourself?"
He shoots you a look, one that says he remembers exactly how much you always hated small talk, but he indulges you. "It's a beautiful ceremony."
"It is."
He cocks an eyebrow. "But...?"
You sigh, gesturing with your glass as the wine loosens your tongue just enough for you to be a little too honest with your ex-husband. "It's all a little too familiar, isn't it? I mean, I haven't been back here since our... well, you know."
He snorts. "Yes, I do remember our wedding day."
You flush, elbowing him playfully. "Don't tease."
His smile is familiar, everything you've missed from him, when he looks down at you. "Can't help it, love." He lifts a hand, one big palm cupping your cheek and running a thumb over the apple of it. "You're just too pretty when you blush."
You can't help but close your eyes, leaning into his rough palm a bit. God, you miss him so much. Having him here, feeling his touch, and knowing that you'll go home tonight to an empty bed...
It's almost too much. The tears come entirely against your will.
"Oh, sweetheart," he coos, other hand cupping your cheek and thumbing away your tears. You blink up at him, free hand wrapping loosely around his wrist.
His eyes bore deeply into yours, and you see everything you feel reflected there. The memories, the pain, the yearning, the love that just refuses to dissipate.
"John," you whisper, voice shaky.
His head dips forward just enough to rest your foreheads together, breaths mingling. Despite the music still playing and the sound of conversations all around you, you can't help but feel like the world begins and ends with the man in front of you.
That's always what John has been for you - everything. Even now, months after your separation, you haven't figured out how to live in a world that isn't defined by John Price. You're not sure you really want to.
"Oh, love," he sighs, grip just firm enough to make you feel held. "When are you coming home?"
You bite your lip to hold back a sob, face crumpling. John coos a little, pressing forward just enough to kiss the tip of your nose and using his thumb to coax your lip from between your teeth.
"It's alright," he soothes, rubbing soft circles into the indention your teeth left in your lipstick. "We don't have to talk about it now, alright? You can take all the time you need. I'm a patient man."
You nod a little, taking in another deep breath. His patience was always something you'd admired, considering your own patience is horribly short. You can't stand to wait, and despite the many times he'd try to help you see the beauty in delay (both in and out of the bedroom), you'd only become frustrated.
Like now. Here John stands, poised and put together and nowhere near tears, and you're the exact opposite. It would be embarrassing if it wasn't one of the main reasons you fell for him in the first place - he's always balanced you out where you need it most.
You take another gulp of your wine, the glass half gone already. John chuckles a little as he stands up, hands shifting to rest on your upper arms and giving you a comforting squeeze. "Might have to get you another glass sooner than I expected."
You consider him for a moment, thoughts slow but a bit erratic, and then drain the rest of the glass in one go.
His eyes widen a bit as you nearly slam the glass onto a table, looking up at him with determination.
"No more wine - for now - but how about a dance?"
You wouldn't be asking if you hadn't had three glasses of wine already. But you have, and you're just inebriated enough to say screw it. As long as you don't wake up next to John tomorrow, nothing you do at the reception can really hurt your progress in getting over him too much.
But God when he smiles at you like that, soft and loving and just sweet, you want to forget completely about the divorce and go back to the life you'd had.
Stress and fear and separation pains regardless, you want John Price with every bone in your body. But you can't help that your mind convinces you otherwise, whispers all the reasons being with him can only lead to pain.
He shakes you out of your musings by offering a hand, stepping away just enough to make you reach for him.
"For old time's sake?" He asks when you take his hand, letting him pull you onto the dance floor with the other couples happily dancing together.
You nearly giggle at the poor excuse, knowing you can both see right through it. Still, you agree with him.
"For old time's sake."
You both know it's a lie, know that there's something more to a slow dance at a wedding, but you're not ready to say it yet. For now you'll hide behind the mask of nostalgia for better days.
Someday you'll be able to move forward. But that's a mission for post-wedding you to figure out, a plan for future-you to construct. Wedding-you, almost-wine-drunk-you is more than happy to let your ex-husband tug you close and trail his hands almost inappropriately low on your waist.
You tell yourself that you can worry about John's words, about his tone and his touchiness, in the morning.
For now, you bask in the presence of the love of your life, and try not to think about how much it will hurt when you leave him all over again at the end of the night.

The Last Goodbye
When they are Kia
Cod characters x f! reader
Inspired by MW3 and the tragic events that occurred this will be a three-part series if I do not get writers block lol.
So sorry for the not posting as much! It’s been a really crazy month and a lot of things had happened and caused me to have a bit of a depressive episode so thank you all for being super patient!
Warnings: mentions of death
John Price
You saw it on the news first before you got the visit. Your breath hitched when you saw the news of the air strike that had hit the base where your husband of 12 years was stationed at everything was decimated. And you couldn’t call or check to make sure that he was all right as he would not have his personal cell phone with him. It wasn’t until two days after the attack did two uniformed military officers showed up at your door holding prices old hat and SAS badge and dog tags. How they got them so quickly, you weren’t sure, but the news came like a sudden wave of cold water. “ we are so sorry for your loss.” One of the officers told you. The body would be arriving shortly within a week or so for proper burial you two had purchased side-by-side grave plots. And the will was already drawn up well before all of this had happened. John was a very precise man and always make sure to think 12 steps ahead. He knew his job was rough and he knew that at any moment he could drop dead. He made sure that his life insurance would be going to you, which was some relief sense the army didn’t pay much.
How to tell your daughter, that her father was not going to be coming back. What is the worst thing you could ever do to her young heart. She was only eight years old. She adored her father practically worship the ground. He walked on. She was always his little girl, and now the war stripped her of him. Stripped you of him..
When she came home from school, you had to sit her down. You held her hands, and with tears, you told the heartbreaking news. The young girl did not understand at first on why her father wasn’t coming back, and once again, you explained that he had died in action, and he would never be able to come home you’re a little girl started to cry, and when he tried to comfort her, she bolted from your arms and ran to her room, slamming the door, and she could hear her wails. You yourself cried yourself to sleep for the first few weeks all the way up until the funeral your friends and family members gathered around you doing everything that they could to comfort you and your daughter people were calling in every single day talking with you for hours on end, while other people stopped by to bring you food.
Every day it felt like a horrifying nightmare. The one that reoccurs every single time slightly more horrifying than the last. As you were going through your stuff and trying to decide what if his you wanted to keep and what of his you wanted to donate you noticed on your phone you had gotten an email from Kate Lasswell. She had sent a video to you actually several saying in the email that he wanted you to have this and gave her explicit instructions in case if he was to ever die.
Pressing the play button, you watched as his face appeared in the camera as he sat down and smiled at you. The way, his eyes twinkled and the crows feet around them creased. “ hello dove” he started at first and you had to pause the video because you were overwhelmed with the emotions. When you stabilized yourself again, you continued. “ I know it’s been a long time since I’ve talked to you and I know that if you’re seeing this, it means that I have passed….. mission was going to be botched no matter what I just didn’t want to tell you the statistics at first…” he paused himself, as he seem to be collecting his words in his own voice was shaking “ I really wish I could come back home to you. I told you that this would be the last mission that I would do before retiring… I promise to take you out on that date that you wanted to go to that fancy restaurant.” he paused again, closing his eyes, and releasing out a large sigh.
“ I’m sorry I never got to take you…. I had so many plans to do with you and Alice… it doesn’t seem fair that I didn’t get a chance to do that” once again, you had a pause the video so that you could take a minute to cry. The plans that you had with each other right now by the wayside. You unpause did it again, and continued on listening. “ I know right now you’re depressed.” he stated, folding folding his hands, and leaning on the desk in a slightly business fashion way. “ in the email that Kate sent you there is several groups that you can join that are for the spouses of the deceased militant partner. Please join one as well as make sure our daughter also goes to one for kids. She’s going to need that support… you both are.” he smiled again, but it was a Sad smile. “ I also made sure to have a college fund started for her. You don’t have to worry about it until she’s ready. There should be plenty of money for her to attend all the way up until graduate year as long as she goes to a decent university. Make sure it’s only used for that if she chooses not to go to university or to go to a less expensive one, you can use the money to buy her a car or whatever she needs to get her life started…. I’m sorry this had all come to this…. As you know I have set aside a life insurance, and the beneficiary goes to you. I also saved up a lot of my savings as well. Feel free to use it as necessary.” he knew that you were going to be smart with the money. “ He paused and looked at you “you are my beloved…. I’m so sorry my dove that you have to face this alone. Please take care of yourself. Find a husband that loves you like I did and a good father figure for our daughter.” This made him tear up. “I will wait for you in heaven and I will watch over you both. You mean so much love. No one or nothing can separate this love. The email that is sent to you also has several videos for Alice. For her birthdays, graduation, moving out to university, marriage and their child. I made sure to make a video for all of that… I also left many for you. Please don’t hesitate to just let me listen to you… I love you.”
The video ended and you sat in the chair, Thinking things though. He set life up for you and your daughter. He was still looking after both of you. You cried for a bit before getting up and knocking on your daughters door. Your little girl opened up with tears on her face. “Hey baby… daddy sent you something.” She sniffed as you picked her up and took her to your old husband’s office. After sitting down with her in his old chair, you turned on the next video. “Hey Angel!” John’s face lit up when the camera started you could see he had been crying. “Angel, im not coming home, it’s not that I don’t want to but it’s because I got called up to heaven. I want you to do something for me my sweet, I want you to watch over momma ok? She is going to need you and you are going to need her. He glanced up as if looking at you then looked back down at his daughter. “You are such a special little girl. I love you so much. Momma has the other videos for you to watch when you grow up. I’m so so sorry to leave you like this. I did not
I did not want to go. I know you were looking forward to see me and so was I… you are my sunshine. My only sunshine.” He stated singing the song he sang when she was down or sad. “You make me happy, when sky’s are grey. You never know dear, how much I love you, so please don’t take my sunshine away…. I love you my angel.” The video ended. Your daughter looked at you. “What now?” She asked. “Well… now we do what daddy said… we do our best to move on, but not to forget him. We will be OK.” You held her as you too watched the sunset fade beneath the horizon, a beautiful white dove landed on he window, cooed and looked at you before flying off into the golden rays of the pink sky.
Simon Riley
You were cleaning in the kitchen when you heard a knock at the door. Putting the sponge back in the soapy hot water. You wiped your hands and made your way to the door. Two military officers took at the door, Solum faces as they greeted you. “Hello can I help you?” You asked
“Mrs (y/n) Riley?” One of them asked.
“Yes that is me.” You looked at them worried.
“I’m sorry, Lieutenant Simon Riley was killed in action.” The officer said gravely as he handed you a box of his things.
You took the box with tears in your eyes. The men told you that his body was found and would be returning soon. You thanked them and closed the door as you held the box tightly in your arms and sunk to the floor sobbing. Your sweet Simon. He was gone, never to come home to you and your son. You knew it was a dangerous job, but it never really hit you till now. Your husband, the man that always let you take off his mask, the man that would cuddle with you at night and rub your back after a long day, the father of your 3 month old son who he would stay up late to let you sleep. He was gone, ripped apart from you. How were you going to tell your son about his father, the man who loved his son from the moment he was born. You cried on the cold floor till you fell asleep, still holding onto the box. You woke up to the sound of your son crying in his room. Getting up, you walked and a dead sonter to his room. Tomas your son named after your husbands brother, was crying in his cradle. Carfully you picked him up and held him close. He looked so much like his daddy, blonde hair, dark blue eyes, fair skin. “Shhhhh my love” you rocked your son with tears in your eyes. “Daddy isn’t coming back.” You stated as a hiccup got you. “He loved you so much…. He loved me.” You knew your son wouldn’t remember this but it was still so sad to hold your little boy and know he would never have a father and son bonding.
You sobbed as you held onto him. Tomas sensing his mothers destress, he quieted down and cooed. After a while you fed him and put him down to bed once more. You opened the box after sitting down with a hot cup of tea, ready to take on what you needed to. With a sniffle, you opened the lid to reveal his skull mask, the dog tags that he wore, his SAS badge, and a few other things. “Oh Simon” new murmured as you carefully picked up the mask and set the box down as he traced over the lines to his skeletal features on his balaclava. It smelled like him. That rich, earthy smell, that he always seems to have with a hint of gunpowder and bourbon. It was a lingering sent, but it was a good one at that. You held the mass close as you leaned back on the couch and close your eyes. You already missed him more than you did before maybe it was because you knew that you would never see him again, to have him be in the house and be present with you and your son. You would go on with your life fine you are a tough woman, one of the many reasons to why Simon married you, but it was your son that you were worried about. You wanted your son to have a father figure. A dad that he would learn to grow up and love. Simon never had that sort of dad, and had always wanted to be that way for his own children.
Now Simon was never going to live out his dream, and Thomas, your son, was never going to have that sort of special bond. I thought made you incredibly sad once more but no tears fell, your eyes were all dried from the previous crying. The weeks came and the funeral happened, your husband looked peaceful in his casket. You wanted some alone time with him first and held his stiff, cold hand. “ Thomas will miss you… I will miss you. You were my rock and shield. It’s going to be hard without you Si… I will always love you and miss you.” The funeral took place and it was a sad time. The team of 141, your family and friends helped with whatever you needed. Now, you were cleaning out things from your late husband. As you were cleaning out his bedside table drawer, you saw a note, folded up neatly. Curious, you unfolded the lined paper and read the words on the paper.
“My dear (y/n), Birdie if you are digging in my drawer then that means I have passed, the mission was botched… I’m sorry… I know Thomas is in good hands with you. Please don’t worry about money. My account will be given to you. As I am writing this, it’s late, you’re sleeping next to me. It’s the night before we leave… I am looking at you for the last time, taking in all your beautiful details. Your face is so soft in sleep, you look so angelic. I am going to miss you… I know you will miss me too… I’m sorry I haven’t said ‘I love you’ that much. I hope you know I cherished and deeply loved you. I still do. I know you are a strong woman, that is what drew me to you. I know you will move on. If you wish, find someone who can love you and our son just as much as I loved you. I will be waiting for you when you come. I will always be watching out for you. Please don’t let our son forget me. I want him to know how much I loved him and you. I love you my Birdie, my beautiful wife. ~Simon.”
You held onto the paper and cried. This was going to be ruff. You were going to be ok. A sense of comfort filled your mind and warmth flooded your body. “I love you my Simon” you smiled and the familiar sent of him wafted and you felt his warmth envelop you.
Gaz
when the news reached you, it hurt like 1000 tiny little daggers. You had just gotten married to Gaz, your Relationship was just beginning. The two of you had been high school sweethearts. Times had gotten tough for both of you and you broke off your relationship before time being until you rekindled it once again, realizing that he was the only person for you. You had only gotten married a few months prior and just had your honeymoon before he was shipped off. Four months he was gone. And he was supposed to come back in two, however, the letter that you received told a different story. He would never be coming home. His body was blown up so badly that they couldn’t find all the pieces to him. We would do everything that they could to get the majority of him back home so that there could be some proper burial. This broke your heart. He would never get to share the life with you that you too so desperately dreamed about, a small home, somewhere on the suburbs of London with a dog, and maybe a child somewhere down the line. That was your plan at least but now things have changed, and now your beloved was gone.
It had been a few weeks since the death, and the burial of what was left at him. You had moved back in with your parents for the time being. As you were cleaning up your room, doing the best to get over your grieving you noticed a note on your bed they have been delivered by your mother earlier. Carefully you walked up to the letter and looked at it. It was addressed to you by Gaz. A sense of panic swelled in your chest. Did he really survive? Or was this some cool trick that somebody was playing? Quickly opened the envelope, and you looked at the letter the date showing that it was a month ago that he had sent this; before his death. With shaky hands, you begin to read the chicken, scratch lettering, tracing over every word, and taking to heart as if it was the gospel.
“Hey Love!
Things are crazy right now! We’re going to be going into a city not too far from here. I’ll make sure to pick up some stuff for you. I know you’ve been wanting to decorate the house for a while and I’m so excited to see what sort of projects you’ve been working on? How’s the art piece coming? I remember you telling me that you wanted to start up painting again. We always had such a pretty drawings. I have no doubt that they’re not going to be beautiful. I hope you hang them on the wall for us to see. I miss you. A part of me wishes that you were here at least the part that isn’t the most violent. Unfortunately, we’re not in the best area we are being attacked left and right. Don’t worry sweetheart. I’ll be home soon! I promise I’ll fix the leaky faucet. I know it’s been driving you crazy. I I sent a letter to my folks, but could you tell them that I miss them as well? I want them to know how much I miss them, but I think I miss you the most. When I get back can we get a dog? Also, can we have like a full day of playing video games just with you and me? I know I sound like I’m rambling, but it’s just what’s on my mind recently. Late night cuddles with you while playing Mario kart. It just sounds so relaxing right now. I’m really tired. Well sweetheart, I better get to bed. I love you and I hope that you have an amazing day tomorrow and the next and the next after that.
Your Husband,
Gaz”
Hugging the letter, you cried your eyes out. Tears streaming down your face as you laid on the bed, holding onto the last remnant of what your husband left you. It sounded as if he was somewhere in a safer, better place. You hoped that he died quickly that he didn’t suffer and his last thoughts were good thoughts. A breeze drifted into the room from your open window and a warm bit of sunshine hit your cheek as the breeze drifted passed it felt like a stroke on your soft face. He was there sitting beside you, even though you couldn’t see it, you could feel his presence. He was safe and he was watching over you.
Johnny McTavish
The news has gotten to you quickly. It was actually delivered by Price himself. You couldn’t believe it. Your Scottish highland your man was no longer going to come home to you. He was shot through the head. Taking a bullet to save a life. Your young son, John, named after his father, was going to be home from school soon the devastating news hurt you more than anything else out there. How are you going to tell your six-year-old son that he was not gonna have his daddy near anymore? Who was going to play football with him in the yard? Who is going to read bedtime stories? Who is going to play in the rain with him? Your son needed his father that boy looked up to his dad, like he was the sun, its self. The news hurt you hard calling his parents and his family was going to be hard as well if they had an already heard the news. He was close with everybody and his family and he had quite a large family.
The upcoming days to the Memorial as you wish to have been cremated, were hard and brutal. Everybody that you knew, and your friends and his family all gave their condolences to you and to each other he was loved and well liked by everyone your son took it hard he didn’t understand why his dad wasn’t coming home and cried and cried and cried it was like that for almost a whole week, he was doing so bad that you had to pull him out of school for the time being because he was unable to function properly. You did everything you could you hold him tight in your arms until he cried himself to sleep at night in which you also cried your own silent tears. You would go walk on the open, Highlands that overlooked the beautiful scenery where your husband, his father’s ashes, cast out upon the open landscape. A small memorial was placed there in memory. You would have picnics out there are frequently, simply listening to the birds call from high above and feel the warm sun cast It’s beautiful rays. They felt cold and dull to you, but you did your best to hold out for your son.
Cleaning out the closet with all of his stuff. What is your next task as you were taking some of his old stuff down you noticed a hard drive they had fallen out of one of his pockets with your name on it. Curious, you took the hard drive and you plugged it into your laptop. It open the file which had a video and it. You clicked play.
The video with your husband sitting on the couch in your living room, smiling at you “Hello my bonne Lass. if yer seeing this then ye know what happened and I don’t think I need ta say anymore abou tha’. I am so sorry that I cannot be with Yer. I love ye so much. I love our son John so much. Please remind hem’ every day how much I love him. Please play football with hem as much as ye can. Please read to hem every night fer me. I know it’s a lot ta ask with what’s going on but I think it might be good fer both of ya ta share tha’ quality time. I’m gonna miss ye both, but I’m always going te be with yer. I’m always going to be watching over mo little family. Don’t worry Lass, life insurance should cover a huge portion of everything. Hopefully it can help provide some security fer you and fer John. I also have tha’ university fund ye wanted me ta set up fer him. Let the money grow and add te it. If ye want by the time he turns 18 he can open that account. The files are actually in my cabinet on the right side of the desk. It has all the important paperwork and documentaries yer gonna need. I really wish I was there with ya Lass. I’m going to miss holding you at night and whispering I love yous.” His beautiful eyes stared right back at you with his stupid little mohawk and broad shoulders facing the camera. “ I know you got this, please don’t ferget about me, but I do want you moving on. Find a man that makes yer heart is happy to be with as it was with meh. I know it’s a lot ta ask for, and I’m not expecting ye ta get married right this instant… I want ta see ye happy I want to see you taken care of. I love ye, my princess.” he reached over to turn off the device that he was using, and the video ended abruptly. A new wave of tears hit your face as you laid your head on the desk and cried for the fifth or sixth time in the past few days. Your son came in the room and gently touched your shoulder. “It’s OK mama! Daddy’s going to be with us. He’s just going to be invisible.” he was quoting some thing that you had told him. When you had to break the news to John, you had told him that the angels up in heaven needed his daddy to help fight the battle up there because he was so good at his job. One day he would be able to meet his daddy up there as well. Now John had taken this to heart and there’s now quoting this in hopes to make you feel better. You carefully picked up your son and held him close to you. “ you know you’re the best against your father had ever giving me? When you were born, he had tears in his eyes and he was hugging you and kissing all over your face and just absolutely doting on you 24 seven. He told me how proud he was of you. He told me how proud he was of me. Those were good times.” Your son gently hold you tight in his own little arms. “ it’s OK mama will make it out together.” You could almost feel a kiss on your forehead as if…. As if your husband was leaning over to comfort you.
