Welcome to Letters2fiction!
The concept here is to send in a question or a letter request, and you’ll get a response from your fictional character of choice, from the list below. Please stick to the list I’ve made, but of course, you can ask if there’s some other characters I write for, I don’t always remember all the shows, movies or books I’ve consumed over the years and I’m sure I’m missing a lot 😅

Book Review: “Lanegan” by Greg Prato
It’s a weird thing to put in a biography. But in this case, the following is true.
“When it comes to Mark Lanegan, there are many things that you are better off not knowing,” music journalist Charles R. Cross says of the former Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age singer and solo artist.
Fortunately for “Lanegan” author Greg Prato, Lanegan wrote all that stuff in his harrowing memoir, “Sing Backwards and Weep,” freeing Prato to focus on other stuff in his oral biography.
Like Lanegan the man, “Lanegan” the book is non-traditional. Generous at 319 pages and including a passel of black-and-white photos from throughout Lanegan’s career, it’s self-published - released Feb. 22 on the one-year anniversary of Lanegan’s death from undisclosed causes - but professional in content and layout.
“I look at (Nirvana’s) Kurt (Cobain), (Alice in Chains’) Layne (Staley) or even more Andy Wood - Mark was darker than them all,” Cross says. “I don’t know that Mark’s death is darker, but Mark’s life was darker than any of those people.”
In addition to Cross, Prato spoke with Lanegan’s Screaming Trees bandmate Gary Lee Conner; QOTS bassist Nick Oliveri; collaborators Chris Goss (Masters of Reality), Mike Johnson (Dinosaur Jr.), guitarist Jeff Fielder and bassist Aldo Struyf; Sub Pop Records CDO Megan Jasper; original Nirvana drummer Chad Channing; former Red Hot Chili Pepper Josh Klinghoffer; former Soundgarden bassist Kim Thayil; Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death Metal; and friends including Sally Berry, Clay Decker - who makes the dangerous assertion that Lanegan died because he was vaccinated against the coronavirus - and others. The result is an often-surprising portrait of a singular musician that paints Lanegan as an even more enigmatic figure than he seems in life and art.
“Like, we liked Lindsey Buckingham,” Hughes says in discussing Lanegan’s musical influences.
“How the fuck are you going to tell me you can see that? Point to a Mark Lanegan song and go, ‘Oh, Lindsey Buckingham.’ I couldn’t do it. So, the fact that I can’t do it tells me … Mark was in full possession the knowledge that he was unique.”
Rather than unfolding like a typical oral biography, Prato’s book is organized in 16 chapters built mostly around a single question such as “What made Mark so unique as a singer?,” “What was it like to work - in various capacities and on various projects - with Mark?” and “How would you like Mark to be remembered?” This makes “Langegan” as unusual and singular as Lanegan.
Though Lanegan left a ton of damage - to himself and his friends and collaborators - in his wake, the man who emerges from “Lanegan” is a musical omnivore (as his unlikely partnerships with Isobel Campbell and Soulsavers demonstrate) with a wicked sense of humor and a fierce sense of loyalty to the people he held closest.
“His heart was wonderful,” producer John Agnello says. “I know he was tough, I know he could be a cocksucker to people, but man, I saw things about him that I don’t think enough people saw.”
These are the things about Lanegan you are better off knowing. And they’re there for the learning in “Lanegan.”

DECEMBER 2020 RELEASES - Coming soon to Warner Archive!
TEX AVERY SCREWBALL CLASSICS - VOLUME 2 New 2020 1080p HD Masters from 4k Scans of Preservation Elements Run Time: 149:00 Subtitles: English SDH Audio Specs: DTS HD-Master Audio 2.0 - English Aspect Ratio:  4x3, 1.37:1 Full Frame Product Color: COLOR Disc Configuration: BD 50 Special Feature: Documentary "Tex Avery: King of Cartoons"
Welcome back for another three-ring circus of animated comedy from the legendary leader of cartoon fun – director Tex Avery. In the first ring, Avery serves up some of his finest one-shot creations: cartoons featuring cats who hate people, wacky cuckoo clocks, kooky cavemen and lovelorn French fleas. We also meet up again with Avery's attractive Red Riding Hood, a pair of amorous wolves and his durable all-around fall guy, Spike. The second ring is a showcase for Avery's ironically deadpan "Happy Hound": Droopy. This time, Droopy appears in a number of guises – each one funnier than the last. As bandleader "John Pettybone," he leads his jazz-playing fleas to the heights of canine stardom. Out West, as a homesteader and a sheepherder, he has his final showdowns with the Wolf. The third ring offers a whimsical glimpse into the future – or at least a future from the POV of the mid-20th century – with a plethora of zany postwar inventions. While none of the cartoons "of tomorrow" foresaw smartphones or Blu-ray players, these far-fetched contraptions, gadgets, houses and farms, televisions, and various modes of transportation could only come from the madcap mind of Avery and his MGM crew. Uncut, restored and remastered in High Definition for the first time, Tex Avery Screwball Classics Collection Volume 2 is another must-own collection from the master of hand-drawn mayhem.
This 21 cartoon collection includes:
1 LITTLE RURAL RIDING HOOD 2 THE CUCKOO CLOCK 3 MAGICAL MAESTRO 4 ONE CAB'S FAMILY 5 CAT THAT HATED PEOPLE 6 DOGGONE TIRED 7 THE FLEA CIRCUS 8 FIELD AND SCREAM 9 THE FIRST BAD MAN 10 OUT FOXED 11 DROOPY'S DOUBLE TROUBLE 12 THREE LITTLE PUPS 13 DRAGALONG DROOPY 14 HOMESTEADER DROOPY 15 DIXIELAND DROOPY 16 COUNTERFEIT CAT 17 VENTRILOQUIST CAT 18 HOUSE OF TOMORROW 19 CAR OF TOMORROW 20 TV OF TOMORROW 21 FARM OF TOMORROW
THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1957) - 2 DISC SPECIAL EDITION New 2020 1080p HD Restoration Masters from 4K Scans of Preservation Separation Elements Run Time: 83:00 Subtitles: English SDH Audio Specs: DTS HD-Master Audio 2.0 - English Aspect Ratio: Disc One-1.85:1-16x9 Widescreen and 1.66:1-16x9 Widescreen Product Color: COLOR Disc Configuration: 2-BD 50 Special Features: New feature commentary by Screenwriter/Film Historian Steve Haberman and Filmmaker/Film Historian Constantine Nasr, Newly Remastered 1.37:1 Open Matte version of feature. New Featurettes include: The Resurrection Men: Hammer, Frankenstein and the Rebirth of the Horror Film, Hideous Progeny: The Curse of Frankenstein and the English Gothic Tradition, Torrents of Light: The Art of Jack Asher, Diabolus in Musica: James Bernard and the Sound of Hammer Horror, Original Theatrical Trailer (HD)
The first, and perhaps the best of the long-running series of horror films from the house of Hammer, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee star in this landmark interpretation based on the famous Mary Shelley story. Baron Victor Frankenstein becomes friends with one of his teachers, Paul Krempe. At first, both men are fascinated by the potential of their re-animating experiments. Eventually, though, Krempe refuses to help with Frankenstein's human experiments. However, he is drawn back into the plot when Frankenstein's creature kills a member of the house staff. For its U.S. Blu-ray debut, Warner Archive is proud to present this deluxe 2 Disc Special Edition, featuring two theatrical aspect ratio presentations, meticulously remastered and restored from preservation separations, as well as bonus disc with the restoration presented in "open-matte" format, as was seen for years on television, plus four exciting new retrospective featurettes, an expert commentary, and the original theatrical trailer.
THE HARVEY GIRLS (1946) New 2020 1080p HD Restoration from 4K Scan of the Original Nitrate Technicolor Negatives Run Time: 102:00 Subtitles: English SDH Audio Specs: DTS HD-Master Audio 2.0 - English Aspect Ratio: 1.37:1 4x3 Full Frame Product Color: COLOR Disc Configuration: BD 50 Special Features: Feature-length audio commentary by Director George Sidney, Three Deleted Musical sequences: March of the Doagies, March of the Doagies (reprise), and My Intuition. Scoring stage sessions (audio only) featuring pre-recordings made for the film including the unused "Hayride".  "On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe" Remixed in Stereo (HD), Original Theatrical Trailer (HD).
Judy Garland headlines The Harvey Girls, a joyous slice of Americana celebrating the "Harvey House" restaurants that brought extra helpings of civilization to the Old West. Famed M-G-M musical producer Arthur Freed brought together an impressive cast of talents for this box-office hit which features a delightful original score by composer Harry Warren and lyricist Johnny Mercer, who earned an Oscar for their On the Atchison, Topeka, and the Santa Fe as the Best Song of 1946. Garland once again shares the screen with her "Oz" co-star Ray Bolger, clowns with Virginia O'Brien, falls in love with leading man John Hodiak, and faces off against wicked saloon gal Angela Lansbury in one of the most entertaining and enduring musical classics to come from Metro's golden age, now fully restored to its original Technicolor luster for its Blu-ray debut.
HOLIDAY AFFAIR (1949) New 2020 1080p HD Master Run Time: 87:00 Subtitles: English SDH Audio Specs: DTS HD-Master Audio 2.0 - English Aspect Ratio: 1.37:1, 4x3 Full Frame Product Color: B&W Disc Configuration BD 25 Special Feature: Lux Radio Theater broadcast (12/18/50) with Robert Mitchum and Laraine Day, Original Theatrical Trailer
RKO's resident "bad boy" Robert Mitchum (Out of the Past) surprised audiences with his softer side in this classic Yule-themed romantic comedy. Mitchum portrays Steve Mason, a department-store clerk who loses his job, yet buys an electric train set for a child he scarcely knows. It must be Christmastime. Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh are warmly matched in Holiday Affair, a seasonal favorite scripted by Isobel Lennart (later to adapt Mitchum's The Sundowners) and directed by Hope/Crosby "road movies" veteran Don Hartman.
MISTER ROBERTS (1955) New 2020 1080p HD Remaster from 4K Scan of Original Negative Run Time: 121:00 Subtitles: English SDH Audio Specs: DTS HD-Master Audio 5.1 – English Aspect Ratio: 2.55:1-16x9 LETTERBOX Product Color: COLOR Disc Configuration: BD 50 Special Features: Commentary by Jack Lemmon, Original Theatrical Trailer (HD)
The USS Reluctant carries cargo along World War II's forgotten Pacific seaways. Beyond the horizon, the real war passes its stir-crazy crew by. Mister Roberts, directed by John Ford and Mervyn LeRoy, is the classic story of men fighting to survive – not war's dangers, but its indignities. Henry Fonda's reprise of his Tony®-winning Broadway role returned him to movies after seven years away. Jack Lemmon won his first Academy Award® as hapless, lecherous Ensign Pulver. James Cagney's petty, scrappy Captain makes a fierce adversary. In his final film, William Powell makes world-weary Doc a sage for the ages. Mister Roberts has moments of unforgettable humor. But sadness tempers the comedy. No shot is fired. No blood is spilled. Yet Mister Roberts endures as one of our most truthful war sagas.
YOUNG MAN WITH A HORN (1950) New 2020 1080p HD Remaster from 4K Scan of Original Nitrate Elements Run Time: 112:00 Subtitles: English SDH Audio Specs: DTS HD-Master Audio 2.0 – English Aspect Ratio: 1.37:1 4x3 Full Frame Product Color: B&W Disc Configuration: BD 50 Special Features: Lux Radio Theater broadcast (3/3/52) with Kirk Douglas and Jo Stafford; Vintage WB Cartoons: HILLBLLY HARE (HD); HOMELESS HARE (HD) and HURDY GURDY HARE (HD); Original Theatrical Trailer (HD)
With a secondhand trumpet and the loving guidance of a brilliant bluesman, a lonely boy grows into manhood as a superb musician whose talent carries him from honky-tonks to posh supper clubs. But his desperate search for an elusive high note – trapped in his mind but impossible to play – starts him on a boozy downward slide. Charged with dynamic performances by Kirk Douglas (the title role), Doris Day, Lauren Bacall and Hoagy Carmichael, and pitch-perfect direction by Michael Curtiz (Casablanca), the film is a feast of hot, cool, moody jazz. Legendary Harry James dubbed Douglas' hornwork. Day brings another fine instrument – her voice – to four standards. Movie and music lovers will be glad to meet this Man.
THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER (1940) New 2020 1080p HD Remaster Run Time: 99:00 Subtitles: English SDH Audio Specs: DTS HD-Master Audio 2.0 – English Aspect Ratio: 1.37:1. 4x3 Full Frame Product Color: B&W Disc Configuration: BD 50 Special Features: Vintage MGM promotional film: "The Miracle Of Sound"; Screen Guild Theater radio broadcast (9/29/40) with Margaret Sullavan, James Stewart and Frank Morgan; Lux Radio Theater broadcast (6/23/41) with Claudette Colbert and Don Ameche.
Ernst Lubitsch adds his unique style of directorial aplomb to this timeless love story that marked the third of Margaret Sullavan and James Stewart's four film appearances together. A 1936 play by Nikolaus Laszlo called "Perfumerie" was the basis for this timeless love story set in a Budapest shop. With a witty screenplay adaptation by Samson Raphaelson, Stewart and Sullavan play bickering gift-shop workers Alfred and Klara, unaware that they have fallen in love with each other as secret pen pals who only know their respective correspondents as "Dear Friend". The charm of the stars ably supported by a sterling supporting cast headed by Frank Morgan make this timeless classic one to enjoy over and over again. The story was later filmed as "In The Good Old Summertime" with Judy Garland and Van Johnson in 1949, and as "You've Got Mail" in 1998. It was also the basis of the 1963 Broadway musical favorite "She Loves Me". Beautifully remastered from protection film elements made right from the original nitrate negative, this new Blu-ray presentation of the original 1940 classic is a joy to behold
IT HAPPENED ON 5TH AVENUE (1947) New 2020 1080p HD Remaster from 4K Scan of Best Surviving Nitrate Elements Run Time: 115:00 Subtitles: English SDH Audio Specs: DTS HD-Master Audio 2.0 – English Aspect Ratio: 1.37:1. 4x3 Full Frame Product Color: B&W Disc Configuration: BD 50 Special Feature: Lux Radio Theater Broadcast (5/19/1947)
As he does every winter, hobo Aloysius T. McKeever (Victor Moore) moves in to a mansion on New York City's 5th Avenue while its owners are away for the winter and invites all his hobo friends in from the cold. But this Christmas, Mary O'Connor (Ann Harding) comes home unexpectedly after a quarrel with her boyfriend to find her house occupied by jovial street dwellers. To make matters even worse, her father (Charles Ruggles) disguises himself as a hobo to get an invitation to stay in his own home -- and keeps his identity secret in this perennial Christmas favorite about rediscovering family and the joy of being together. Don DeFore (Romance on the High Seas) and Gale Storm (My Little Margie) co-star as the young love interests in this first release from Allied Artists Productions.
THE 100: THE SEVENTH AND FINAL SEASON (2020) Run Time: 672 Minutes Subtitles: English SDH Audio Specs: TS HD-Master Audio 5.1 – English Aspect Ratio: 1.78:1. 16x9 Widescreen Product Color: COLOR Disc Configuration: 3 BD 50
The seventh and final season opens with our heroes picking up the pieces of the society they destroyed on Sanctum. Still reeling from her mother's death, Clarke (series star Eliza Taylor), perhaps more than anyone, feels the toll of years upon years of fighting and loss. The group soon finds that maintaining order among the competing factions is no easy feat, and one that has them questioning whether their commitment to doing better was worth the price. At the same time, our heroes must contend with new obstacles on a scale beyond any that they previously experienced as they unravel the mysteries of the Anomaly. What they encounter on this epic journey pushes them to their limits both physically and emotionally, challenging their long-held conceptions of family, love, and sacrifice. Ultimately, our heroes must answer for themselves what it means to truly live, and not just survive.

Ok I’m so happy someone taking requests. It’s take place season two where Bonnie and Damon hate each other but there daughter comes from the future to help them fight Klaus but no one knows she’s there daughter. Thank you 😊
Hey! So glad too! I’m always up for some Bamon so it’s come at just the right time. Ok, so I’ve definitely done as requested, but I’m really enjoying this and would love to maybe turn it multi-chaptered so if there’s demand I might add onto this story, it was soo much fun.
Anyways, @barkingbullfrog here you go! Hope you enjoy. Sadly the Bamon is not too romanc-y what with the setting though I went with later season two so they are at least reluctantly working together.
Tumblr media
Damon propped his feet up on the arm of the loveseat he found himself laying down on, an air of nonchalance mere facade to the turmoil he was feeling inside. Elena and Stefan sat opposite him, poetic really, he thought, talking about what there was to do now that uncle John decided to fuck up again. He couldn’t understand how some people could be this stupid. Why would anyone trust Isobel was beyond him, the bitch had tricked him into turning her, had tricked Elena just a few months ago, had fucked up Alaric good and proper and had been working with Katherine. He listened to Stefan try to propose they use their house as a safe-house and Elena shoot it down immediately. Figures. Was there no one around who used their brain?
There’s Bonnie, his mind helpfully supplied as he heard Elena wrack up another complaint. He answered this one, thoughts of the little witch in his head. He didn’t like having to revisit one of his greatest failures. Because he knows allowing Emily Bennett to burn could only be catalogued as nothing other than failure. And now Bonnie wanted to absorb all that power. Hence, she was definitely the intelligent one here. More power was exactly what they needed, not drama with bio-mom from hell.
“To the Lockwood luncheon.” he heard Elena finish her sentence, followed closely by his brother’s knight in armour agreement.
“Not me, I’ve witch stuff to attend to with Bonnie” he quipped, watching Elena’s warm gaze shifting to him again. He also paid enough attention to Katherine lurking about just then. He knew she’d been listening to the whole conversation, she wasn’t subtle about it, which only served to annoy and baffle him. Why wasn’t Mistress of Bitchdom pretending to hide anymore? Oh well, question for another day perhaps, bigger fish to fry.
“Does that mean you’re taking her to the -” he shushed Elena before she could give them away, a stray thought of Bonnie would’ve known not to say anything worming its way into his mind, and he almost scoffed at himself. Since when was the witch at the front of his thoughts? But before he could dwell on that particular annoyance, Katherine saunters her way over and he hears footsteps outside in the walkway. He’s about to answer the she-demon when the front door’s lock turns and the door swings open suddenly. He’s up on his feet and with his hand around the uninvited visitor’s neck before Stefan even has the chance to get up and plant himself in front of Elena. Katherine of course does nothing, simply turns to stare at him and the young woman he’s holding against the wall, a mild shock flitting over her features almost too quick to see. He doesn’t get more than a few seconds before he finds himself doubled over in sudden pain, clutching his head as stars burst behind his eyelids. He almost thinks he’s misstepped and Bonnie herself was standing there, the wave of magic bringing him to his knees and the smell of blood so very similar to hers. Bennett blood for sure.
“Ack!” He cries out and waits for the ringing in his ears to subside, then he casts a customary glance around at his brother and his ex, surprised to see Katherine herself on her knees, still in apparently a lot of pain. Whoever the Bennett witch that just stepped inside their house like she owned it was, she didn’t stop until Katherine was unconscious on the ground.
“Sorry for the aggression, but I don’t respond to threats well and I really don’t like her.” a soft, but confident voice has Damon turning back to inspect the newcomer. She’s petite, in all senses of the word with her barely up to his shoulders height and lithe physique, but her own shoulders are squared and there’s an air of knowing all around her. He almost sees the Bennett witch they’re all too familiar with in her stead again. It’s disconcerting to say the least, especially with the very bright, and very blue, eyes staring at him with a small smirk. She’s cocky too, he realizes, and she’s certainly powerful enough to back it up if Katherine’s unconscious form on the ground like a sack of potatoes is anything to go by.
“And who exactly are you?” he readies himself for another aneurysm as he speaks, but to his surprise, her whole demeanor shifts suddenly upon looking back at him, if he didn’t know better he’d say she’s just… seen her favourite person. But it snaps back in place so quick he blinks to make sure he didn’t imagine it all.
“I’m Sheila-Rose Bennett.” She begins and he nods slowly, he’d already figured she’d be a Bennett, but how was it possible he didn’t know of her he couldn’t explain, it was strange. He might’ve not known how Lucy looked like when she showed up at the Masquerade a few weeks back, but he had remembered her father and her being born. He happened to have been near the hospital at the time, like he tried to be whenever a new Bennett was born. Hell, he still remembered Rudy, Bonnie’s dad, pacing in the small hospital hallway with Sheila there telling him to sit down and not wear the floor out when Abby was giving birth. He made good on his promises he thought, unlike Emily. “I’m here to help you with Klaus.” she continued.
He straightened out, pushing to his feet as soon as the words were out of her mouth. “And what exactly do you know of Klaus?” And how don’t I know you? His mind screamed at him.
“I’ve had some … experience dealing with him” there was a smile on her lips, wry, as though laughing at an inside joke that only she was in on. The witch was odd.
“Ok, Sheila-Rose-” he began, but was cut off just as fast.
“It’s just Rose, only mom calls me Sheila-Rose, and that’s usually when I’m in trouble.” another one of those wry smiles. It was slowly making him lose his mind. There was something so very familiar to her that was frustrating him beyond reason.
“Sure, whatever. What can you tell us about Klaus?” He noted that Elena was shifting her weight from on foot to the other, impatient, when he remembered she needed to go. “Brother, why don’t you and Elena get to that luncheon, I’ve got Baby Blues here covered. Plus our very own Wicked Witch of the East is bound to show up in, oh, five minutes or so? I’ve got this.” Stefan and he shared a quick look and then baby brother was walking past him and the new Bennett, briefly breaking their staring contest, to pick up his coat and then he and Elena were out the door and driving away. Damon turned and poured himself some bourbon, taking a sip and letting it sooth the nagging pounding that always remained behind after that particular witch’s spell. The witch came fully inside the house now, bypassing Katherine’s body and laying herself in the same loveseat he’d previously occupied, swinging her legs up and over the arm of it, and lacing her fingers around her knees to keep herself upright, looking at him expectedly.
“Should I wait for … whoever you said was joining? Or should I just spill the beans right now?” she certainly had attitude, he thought, matching his tone to a T and he wasn’t sure whether he was impressed or annoyed by it.
“How do I not know you?” he couldn’t let that question go, and he also didn’t want Bonnie to know just how much he cared about her bloodline. She might actually burn him again if she did, he had a feeling.
“You don’t know every one of us, we scattered too much to keep track, so let’s not poke through generations. I’m here for something else, not the past.” she smiled again, that same damn smile that was slowly making his skin itch. There was something there, she knew something she was hiding, something that was about him or regarded him at least. It was driving him insane, and still she wasn’t saying anything.
“Fine, keep your secrets. How old are you anyways, Witch-y?”
“I just turned 19. Why does it matter?” defensive. Fun! He can poke at that.
“Kinda on the young side to be dealing with Big Bad Klaus, aren’t you?” he began and saw her wince. Double fun, he could really dig here. “How come mommy and daddy let you come here? Or do they not know?” he saw her shift in her seat and knew he’d hit the nail on the head. “Oh, so they don’t know then?”
“Not any of your business old man. I’m here and I’ve got info you guys will want, trust me on that.”
“Old man? One, don’t nickname, two, so you’ve said but I’m not convinced. See, if you’re 19 then how come you know anything about Klaus?”
“I know about him from my parents, they’ve fought him before. But haven’t been able to stop him. But they didn’t have the knowledge they do now, I have that and then some and I have you trying to fight him. I can help, that I promise.” She certainly was convincing, but Damon hadn’t survived so long and gone through the shit he had to just believe any nutso that strolled into his house. Just as he was about to answer her, Bonnie burst through the front door, Jeremy a few steps behind her, a flurry of righteous annoyance around her. He barely listened to her begin to berate him being late when he saw her gaze turning to their guest.
Speaking of, the littlest witch suddenly swung her feet back to the floor, sitting up properly and a grin growing on her lips as she stood up, hand outstretched and introduced herself as though to her celebrity crush. God, why was everyone coo-coo in this town?
“Sheila-Rose Bennett! Very nice to meet you, know a lot about you, Bonnie.” She rushed through suddenly. To say that Bonnie was overwhelmed was an understatement. So he did the nice thing for once and patted the place next to him on the couch for Bonnie to take a seat. She did so in shock and even took a sip of his bourbon when he extended it to her, only to chock and sputter once the taste hit her. Small mercies seemed to exist after all, he figured when she didn’t do so much as glare at him, though with how she kept staring at the other Bennett he figured it had less to do with him and more to do with her.
“Now now, Rosie-Posie, let’s not overload Bon-bon here.” He was smirking as he spoke, looking from Bonnie to the newcomer when confusion hit him again at the genuine shock and delight on her face seemingly at his words. He was dying to know what could he have possibly said to warrant that look, but before he could, the woman began speaking in earnest. She hadn’t been lying, he realised quickly. She definitely had information they needed and power they could use, if Katherine’s still unconscious form on the ground was anything to go by.
Quick note, my head-canons about this are that:
- Sheila-Rose went behind her parents backs cuz she just wanted to help since she’s heard all about how Klaus hurt them, though she and Hope happen to get along pretty well and even Klaus and Bonnie and Damon are alright now.
- Her dad calls her Rosie Posie.
- While I see her as a daddy’s girl, she adores her mom with everything in her, like aspired to be her
- The wry smile is her thinking about the future and amusing herself with the references. like the “dealt with klaus” thing or the “not here for the past” being very ironic to say the least.

Something I did - self para
Who: Elena Salvatore Where: Harrington Residence Mentions: Katherine Pierce, Klaus Mikaelson, Miranda Gilbert, Greyson Gilbert, Jenna Sommers, John GIlbert, Isobel Flemming, Damon Salvatore, Stefan Salvatore, Jeremy Gilbert, Sonia Desai. Trigger Warnings: Death
Like everyone else in the party, Elena was caught by surprise with the green gas. At first, she thought it was just one of Victoria’s lack of taste jokes, but when she inhaled it, she realized something was off. She covered her nose and mouth, and coughed lightly, the gas burning all the way where it passed. Her eyes closed for a moment, and she couldn’t believe them when she opened them and saw the person in front of her.
“Mom?”, she gasped and started to walk towards her. Elena stopped at the moment her mother took a step back, and she noticed the look upon her gaze. “W-what’s wrong?”, Elena almost cried, her heart broken in pieces as her mother rejected her. “My poor child”, Miranda started, looking more like the loving mother Elena remembered, “Didn’t you see yet? You were supposed to be dead, with us”, her father approached, placing a hand upon her mother’s shoulder.
“Elena, my sweet daughter... We didn’t want any of this for you. The vampires, the violence... Katherine, Klaus... Damon and Stefan... None of them would have sticked around if you followed us at that accident” Elena shook her head, she didn’t want to believe this, she wished her parents weren’t right about it. “No...”, she gasped, holding her stomach as she bent over, overwhelmed.
“I would still be alive, and Logan... Sure, Jeremy would had taken longer to heal, but he wouldn’t be wrapped with this hunter shit. This is all your fault”, Elena heard Jenna’s voice, tears formed in her eyes, “Aunt Jenna...”, her voice was weak. “And let’s not forget, I wouldn’t have died a humanless vampire if wasn’t for you”, Elena couldn’t take it anymore, the wicked and cold smile upon her aunt’s face twisting the memory she had of her.
Elena walked outside, and almost bumped into John Gilbert, and Isobel Flemming. “Your parents were right though... If you were dead, we’d still be alive. We wouldn’t have died to protect you”, Isobel walked towards her, and Elena used her vampire strenght to push her out. “No!!”, she shouted, no seeing that in fact, she had thrown a guest from Victoria’s party.
She walked, not sure where she was heading. Even though she couldn’t see them anymore, Elena could still hear them clearly in her head, You were supposed to be dead... This is all your fault. Elena felt weak, the voices in her head only confirmed what she feared the most. It was all her fault... All their deaths were in her hands. “Hello, cupcake”
Elena’s fire lightened up when she heard her doppelganger’s voice. Not now, it was all she could think of. She turned around and saw Katherine with Damon and Stefan. Katherine retrieved her hands from their backs, holding two hearts. She felt nauseous at the sound their bodies made when they dropped on the grass, “NO!!”, she cried loudly, her soul breaking in several pieces, as she held Damon’s lifeless body in her life.
“Sonia is at the hospital right now, chopping Jeremy’s limb by limb. I could have done it myself, but I know better than being caught with the hunter’s curse”, Elena could hear the smile and satisfaction in Katherine’s voice. She couldn’t say anything. The love of her life was dead, her brother, her only family was dead too, and she couldn’t do anything to save them. Katherine grabbed her by the neck, and Elena had a hard time looking down at her, the tears blurring her sight, “You know why this happened, right?? This was because of you. If you hadn’t stolen the white oak stake from me... Your friends and family would all be safe”, Katherine looked at her, hatred and gloating filling her gaze, “I could kill you right now, and end your pathetic existence, but I think it’s a more fitting punishment to kill everyone you ever loved or care instead, and leave you alone in this world... Knowing they are all dead because of you”, her smile was cruel when she dropped Elena, and flew away.
Elena crawled and stayed by Damon’s side, wishing she could feel his warmth one last time. It didn’t take too long before she heard her friends screaming... And then, there was only silence.

NADIA ROSE - BIG WOMAN [8.00] She's a big woman, so she knows how to ride it...
Joshua Copperman: The most fun part about "Big Woman" that as complicated as the beat is, with strings and bouncy steel drums, there are still dub-inspired vocal effects and pitch shifting that is hard to catch the first few times around. It probably would make for sensory-overload if DJ Bamz and Nadia Rose didn't seem to know exactly what they were doing, Nadia especially - whether she's flirting with a girl (don't ask me if I'm into girls, are we gonna kiss or not?) or begging a lover to touch her like Braille, she commands the song. She's assertive, sensitive, bombastic, and unwavering, all at once. [10]
Claire Biddles: "Big Woman" is as fun and sexy as we've come to expect from Nadia Rose, and I'm just waiting for the opportunity to use "Don't ask me if I'm into girls/are we gonna kiss or not?" as an Insta selfie caption. [8]
Ashley John: "Big Woman" is incredibly good for many serious, musical reasons. Nadia Rose gives us a killer grime track, excellent on a technical level, but more importantly she reminds us what it means to be peacefully confident in ourselves. At a time where women everywhere must grapple with a choice between ripping their hearts out, bloodied and gasping, as proof that we are humans deserving of basic rights or fester quietly with decaying memories kept silent, Nadia Rose is confident and cool and assertive without being heavy handed. "Big Woman" is a sprawling, shimmering moment of freedom, delivered in a way I didn't know I needed.  [9]
Alfred Soto: As assured as last year's "Skwod" at half the speed, "Big Woman" swells to meet the string arrangement. Someone give Nadia Rose some American promotion, please. [7]
Jessica Doyle: Complaining that this sounds a lot like "Skwod" is like complaining that "Ah Yeah" sounds like "Up and Down." In both cases you've got two songs with similar tricks, and you may prefer one to the other--I think I actually prefer the open spaces in the "Skwod" chorus now, having heard the more packed version in this one--but in both cases the tricks are very well deployed. [7]
Leah Isobel: The beat is pounding and Nadia Rose fits right in the middle of it, not so much centering the track as encircling it; she sets the rhythmic boundaries that the rest of the production follows. Her momentum breaks slightly in the second verse but her wicked glee works wonders in the final minute as she layers her voice on top of itself. [7]

▼ SOMETHING WICKED
Damon Salvatore was born and raised in Mystic Falls with his younger brother Stefan Salvatore. Growing up, Damon was a kind guy and very protective of Stefan, doing everything he could to protect his sibling like a big brother should. While Damon’s mother Lilian Salvatore was always very kind, his father tended to be strict and often commanded his two sons. It was very rare for the man to genuinely want to spend time with his children since he was always busy working for the town council as well as keeping his bed warm with women. The only person who knew about his dad’s infidelity was Damon, having witnessed his dad with a variety of females ever since he was sixteen years old. He didn’t want to hurt his mother and Stefan, so he kept his father’s sex life a secret, even though he really didn’t want to protect the man. More often than not, Damon caught his father with women that he worked with, but he also ended up in bed with random females that lived in Mystic Falls. Damon didn’t want his family to fall apart, he wanted them to be happy and together, yet part of him knew that would never happen because his dad was anything but kind and caring. Giuseppe Salvatore rarely showed emotions to anyone, so deep down, Damon knew it would never work out with his family. He kept trying however, never losing hope as the years went on. He hoped that maybe his father would grow tired of his promiscuous behavior and return to his wife and two sons. However, Damon’s mother died of consumption when he was twenty five years old, prompting his father to become even busier when he started to make plans with the town council so that they could rid Mystic Falls of the supernaturals that had showed up there. They wanted to keep their hometown safe and supernatural beings were a threat and not welcome. Damon’s father wanted his two sons to help out since they were both grown men now, with Damon being thirty two and Stefan twenty nine. One night, when Stefan was hunting one of the vampires, he was caught by surprise when said vampire subdued him. That vampire was none other than Alexia Branson, but she wasn’t the bad kind of vampire. When Damon found his brother with Lexi, he begged her to spare Stefan because he couldn’t lose his sibling. Just as Lexi was about to let the two go, Damon’s father made an appearance and misunderstood the situation in front of him. He was convinced that his sons were conspiring with supernaturals, trying to help them escape town. His anger prompted him to shoot all three of them, fatally wounding both his sons while Lexi managed to escape. Giuseppe left both Damon and Stefan to die, even telling them that they deserved to die since they were helping the enemy.
Luckily, Lexi stayed close and fed both brothers her blood in hopes of healing them. Unfortunately, Damon and Stefan died, but they died together, which was a bit of a relief to both of them. After completing his transition, Damon met a young girl who he found himself falling in love with, not knowing that Stefan harbored the very same feelings towards her. Both boys were competing for her affections and wanted her to decide between the two after discovering the truth. Of course, just like Stefan, Damon hoped that her choice would fall on him and he was prepared to do anything to make that happen. One day, Stefan took her to the woods so he could court the girl, trying to increase his chances with the woman of his dreams. It didn’t take long for Damon to stumble upon the two and naturally, the older sibling was upset at what was happening in front of him. Angry about what he had seen and heard, Damon attacked his brother, with the two siblings nearly killing one another. The girl wanted the brothers to stop and interfered, trying to separate them and getting involved in the fight. It was then that Damon accidentally pushed her into a tree branch that had broken off halfway, perforating her right in the chest. Both him and Stefan watched her take her last breath as she died, but before Stefan could launch himself at his brother, Damon fled the scene. Stefan was left to pick up the pieces and bury her since his brother had left and with much pain in his heart, he did so. After that, Damon didn’t see Stefan again and instead, he became the one person that he now despised - his father. Turning into a vampire had changed him and he became the bad parts of his own species. He stopped caring about things, especially about love because that was ruined for him and he preferred sexual relationships instead. Damon never forgave Stefan for what he did to the girl that they both loved, but both brothers ended up in Mystic Falls after years. Just like Stefan, Damon had heard about a cure for vampirism, one that was locked inside a tomb beneath Fell’s church. He wasn’t sure if his brother knew, but he did know that he wanted to beat Stefan to it and returned to Mystic Falls. There, he demanded that Bonnie Bennett used her magic to open the tomb up so he could obtain the cure and shove it down his brother’s throat. Damon still had a lot of resentment towards Stefan, but deep down, the majority of resentment was towards himself since he was the one who had killed the girl they loved. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Damon also ended up killing Lexi, which was another thing that damaged Stefan’s relationship with his brother after their return. Damon’s been in town for years now and has made the place his home again, but he swears that someone’s playing games with him when he sees Elena Gilbert back alive, not knowing it’s really Katherine Pierce.
Stefan Salvatore
Damon used to be very close to Stefan, until they both fell in love with the same girl and Damon accidentally killed her. Stefan’s never forgiven Damon for that and Damon’s never forgiven Stefan for pursuing the same girl. To this day, Damon hasn’t told Stefan that he’s seen their father cheat on their mother more times than he could count, but Stefan did always wonder why Damon became the bad parts of their species. When both brothers returned to town, they wanted the same thing - to obtain the cure for vampirism. Stefan wanted it for Damon, hoping it would make him kind again while Damon wanted to shove it down Stefan’s throat out of spite. They’ve been in town for years now, but their relationship remains on and off - being good on some days while bad on others.
Alaric Saltzman
Damon was the one who killed Isobel, which Alaric attacked him for. Since Damon actually liked Alaric, he didn’t kill the guy. Weirdly enough, the two guys ended up becoming best friends and often have drinks together at Mystic Grill. They have a usual spot at the bar and even though Alaric is human, he does help Damon when needed. Damon helps Alaric in return and has grown rather protective of the guy that’s one of the few friends he has in town.
Logan Steele
Damon met Logan in 1907 in Las Vegas. The two vampires had both been traveling the world and happened to end up in the same place. Both guys spent the entire night in Las Vegas together at various casinos, playing games, having fun, but also feeding. Damon was never told about Logan’s blood lust problem and he himself doesn’t really like blood bags all too much. He’s always been about fresh blood and made sure that his companion also had some during their time in Las Vegas.
Caroline Forbes
Damon has a playful relationship with Caroline, with him enjoying the moments when he gets to tease the girl. Over the years, Damon has grown pretty fond of Caroline and even saved her life at her own birthday party when a group of hunters invaded her home, trying to kill all supernaturals. Luckily, Damon fed Caroline his blood just in time, making sure she came back as a vampire.
Katherine Pierce
Damon has never met Katherine before, so when he sees her in town, he thinks she’s Elena. He’s met Elena once before, back when she had relationship problems with Matt and he knows she died in the Wickery bridge car crash. Maybe she was brought back to life though, right? Or is someone trying to play games with him? Katherine wouldn’t mind playing some games, so she’s all for toying with Damon, letting him believe she’s Elena. She’s studied her doppelganger for a long time and she knows just how to imitate the girl.
Lorenzo St. John
Damon left Enzo to die in the fire back when they had made plans to escape together. He hasn’t seen his former cellmate in years, but now that he’s come to Mystic Falls, Enzo plans to pay Damon a visit sometime soon. Damon still thinks that Enzo died in that fire, so he has no idea that the guy is still alive, or that he was turned by Damon’s very own mother.
Wesley Thompson
Wes thought that Damon had something to do with his parents dying, so he attacked the vampire. However, Damon was a lot stronger than Wes, meaning that it didn’t take long for him to overpower the werewolf. Luckily, Bonnie showed up just in time to save Wes from Damon, saving his life.

Oooo Prompt!!! Can I please have a John X Isobel fic with prompt #15 “I want to hold you close/Skin pressed against me tight.”
Ahhh, it’s so amazing, because John x Isobel was my first paring ever and they had a special place in my heart 💕💕💕 Here we go (also I’ll probably use it in one of the chapters later on, because of plot reasons):
Tumblr media
“I want to hold you close…” John mumbled out, his hands gently caressing hers, then sliding over to her thighs, where he ran them upwards, slightly moving in the seat, so he could press his body to her.
“John please” Isobel cupped his face in her hands, leaning closer to him, almost crawling onto his lap.
“Yes you’re right… I should have pleased you more often” he pressed his face further to her, their lips so close together they were almost touching, but he flinched backwards and looked her in the eye, his features scrunched, his own dark eyes wide.
“That wasn’t the issue… you never failed to please me” her fingers moved to the collar of his shirt and undid the first button.
“Then why you left? Without even saying a word? Without leaving a note?”
“Can we talk about it while being sober?” she undid another few buttons on his shirt and let her hand slide down his chest. John purred a little, when she scratched him a little, “I want to feel your skin pressed against me tight” Isobel mumbled into his mouth, pulling him closer by his shirt, making him fall atop of her and she straddled him a little, wrapping her legs around his waist.
“Isa…” he breathed out, the sound of her nickname she hasn’t heard in ages falling from his lips send shivers down her spine.
“I know John… I missed you too” he was like an open book to her and he didn’t even have to finish his sentence, she knew him too damn well.
There was something in the look of his chocolate eyes, in the stare he held on her face, in the way he couldn’t look away from her; it seemed like he was enchanted by her and the spell, she put on him back in their military days, never fade away.
John was under her charm, it was true, he never fell out of love with her. Even when he married Helen, Isobel was still in the back of his mind, in his heart in the that hotel suite where she lived for so long, it’d be too strange if he suddenly forgot her.
Isobel was his true love and he couldn’t be able to deny it. As well as he couldn’t be able to deny the fact that he was still madly in love with her. The feeling never changed, nor would with her gun pressed to his forehead.

Well it's certainly been a long time between updates but it's tennis season here at the moment and I'm so excited! Heading to the Australian Open and can't wait : ) So enough about me, onto chapter 8!
This is dedicated to the lovely @iart1992 who is an avid follower of this fic : ) and to @romanoffsbite for the awesome cover!
Game. Set. Match
Chapter 8: Every 1's a Winner
Arbory Bar: Southbank, Melbourne, Australia - 25 January
"Forbes and Mikaelson have surprised everyone with a quarter finals finish at the first major tournament of the year," John McEnroe commented. "We saw glimpses of their potential when they reached the third round in Qatar but after their undisciplined performance in Sydney I had my doubts."
"You weren't the only one," former tennis champion Jim Courier concurred. "It looks like they've rallied and even though it's early days in the season I think we are going to be seeing a lot more from this dynamic, mixed doubles pairing as they storm their way up the international rankings."
"I never thought I'd be this excited by a quarter finals placing but it's like music to my ears," Enzo grinned turning away from the big screen television they'd erected over the bar. They'd assembled at one of the most popular places in town which also happened to be the longest in the southern hemisphere and overlooking the famed Yarra River.
"Watch out Rotterdam Open next month," Matt celebrated, popping the bottle of champagne open with a loud bang.
Klaus and Caroline gazed at each other wearily across the table. Although they'd decided their pairing was ending after the Australian Open they hadn't broken it to their enthusiastic coaches just yet who were too busy celebrating their success. They hadn't expected to do so well and Klaus figured the relief at breaking up the partnership was responsible for it. It also didn't hurt that their dinner the other night had gone surprisingly well with no arguments. He actually thought they were making progress, pity about the poor timing.
"Why so glum, gorgeous?" Enzo asked, passing Caroline a glass of the golden bubbly. "Look, I know you're planning on ways to torment Mikaelson and I for one am excited to see what you come up with but could you at least wait until we properly celebrate your joint success?" Klaus chose to ignore the insult, he was getting used to Enzo's supposed humour after all this time together.
If he was being honest Klaus was regretting letting her go so easily, it was obvious they were a good tennis pairing and all they needed to do was stop fighting and focus on their game. He'd genuinely felt bad about the way he acted with Tyler but he was only looking out for her best interests. He'd never forgive that bastard for what he did to Rebekah. There was also a small, niggling part of him that cared about Caroline's wellbeing. Klaus decided to blame that on the stressful situation they'd been thrown into.
He considered trying to change her mind but she had been fairly insistent and Klaus was worried she'd think he was being self serving because of the precarious situation with his Nike contract. For once Klaus hadn't even thought about that consideration.
"Stop encouraging her, Enzo," Rebekah chided joining them at the table with Kol in her stride.
"Oh if it isn't the Brady Bunch!" Enzo exclaimed. "That fierce protective side makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, gorgeous."
"I just don't want to clean up his mess, I already do enough of that already," she scowled at Enzo, taking a seat by Klaus.
"I'm not that bad," Klaus argued noticing Kol trying to stifle his laughter. "Anyway, what's got into you?"
"It's all of this gorgeous Australian sunshine and women," Kol sighed.
"Last time I checked you were complaining about your sunburn courtside and the only woman you seem to be shamelessly throwing yourself at currently is Bonnie," Rebekah groaned.
"Rebekah!" He hissed.
"It's okay Kol, we all know about your thing for our little Bon Bon," Enzo laughed. "In fact it's become quite entertaining watching you make a fool of yourself. We even have bets on how long it will take for her to slap you."
"I'm surprised by her willpower to be honest," Matt joked. "I had money on last week."
"You're all bloody hilarious, I should have stayed at the hotel with Elijah and Izzy, I probably would have had more fun," he growled, heading to the bar. "I'm going to get myself a much needed drink."
"Where is Bonnie anyway?" Enzo asked Caroline.
"Bonnie said she was going to take a rest at the hotel but that she'd meet us later."
"Yeah a rest from Kol's pestering," Matt replied. "Maybe if she'd slapped him last week she'd be Kol free by now and I'd have an extra $100 in my pocket."
"You guys seriously made a bet?" She baulked looking between Matt and Enzo.
"Well, why not?"
"I don't know because it's childish," Caroline bit out. "I can't wait until Katherine hears about this."
"Who do you think came up with the idea?" Enzo chuckled. "Where is the annoying, feisty brunette anyway?"
"I'm not sure to be honest but when Katherine doesn't share her plans it's usually for the best, if you know what I mean," Caroline mumured. "There's only so much detail I can take."
"As much as I love talking about Katherine's sex life, I'd really prefer we outline our plans for the Netherlands next month, we need to keep up the momentum," Rebekah ordered, back to business as usual.
"Well, the plan is to go and play some tennis. I mean that's just a hunch," Enzo answered, a wicked grin etched on his face.
"If someone needs a damn good slapping it's you, Lorenzo," she drawled.
"Someone obviously likes it a bit rough but I'd be more than willing to entertain you, gorgeous," Enzo purred. Klaus noticed his sister's cheeks flush, something that wasn't a very common occurrence. He could have sworn there was something more than a begrudging working relationship going on between them. If it was, his sister certainly worked fast. He shook his head deciding that he didn't really want to entertain those untoward thoughts.
"Okay, time out," Caroline interrupted, almost like she was reading his mind. "Klaus and I actually have an announcement to make." For once the table was quiet and they had everyone's undivided attention. "We are calling it quits."
"I'm sorry, what?"
"Well since you asked so nicely Rebekah, we decided it was best that we part ways professionally," Klaus murmured, backing her up even though he didn't agree.
"But you just made the quarter finals in only your third tournament," Matt said, his bewildered expression not lost on Klaus. "And it wasn't just any tournament it was the Australian Open, only the best of the best qualify to compete here."
"I think they know all of that, Matt," Enzo replied knowingly. "What is really going on here? Did you call her names again or did you hit him with more projectiles? It's just a bit of endearing fun even if your coaches don't think so at the time."
"That's exactly it, Enzo," Caroline argued. "We don't get along, infact all we do is fight and you've just proven that."
"Well, call me crazy but this tournament was the first time I actually saw you getting along, that's why you did so well, Caroline." Klaus knew it was true but he didn't want to put any added pressure on her especially given the current interrogation they were being subjected to.
"Yes because we decided beforehand we were going to end things for good," she insisted.
"Oh, so you didn't think about telling us about this little arrangement?"
"Calm down, little sister," Klaus warned. "At the end of the day this decision is for us to make, no one else."
"Well it's a stupid decision," Rebekah huffed.
"For once I agree with Rebekah and that doesn't happen often," Enzo agreed. "All we ask is that you think about it and don't make a rash decision. What I saw today was bloody good teamwork and it would be a waste to lose that."
"And I don't usually agree with Enzo but he's right," Matt added. Klaus looked across at Caroline, it was obvious by her pensive expression that she was deeply torn about what to do.
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Melbourne
"When I told you about Izzy's fever I didn't expect a personal house call," Elijah said as he opened the door to the brunette, her arms laden with snacks and toys. Katherine had to hide her excitement at finding the eldest Mikaelson in his usual suit but surprisingly casual with his shirt sleeves rolled up to the elbows and his tie loosened around his neck. Why did this gorgeous, married guy continue to get even more handsome?
After their surprise flight together to Australia, Katherine and Isobel had really bonded over Frozen and surprisingly she'd found that her and Elijah had quite a bit in common, well except for their relationship status of course.
"Well, I was at a loose end."
"You didn't want to join the tennis stars at their celebration?"
"I can only take so much of their banter and don't get me started on Kol's obvious attraction to Bonnie," she quipped. "Anyway, I thought this was too good an opportunity to miss watching Finding Dory, I mean we are in Australia after all."
"You realise the majority of that movie takes place in California, right?"
"I didn't know you were the authority on children's movie locations?"
"I do my research before letting my daughter watch anything, I'm kind of..."
"I would have said anal but have a feeling you were going to go with thorough?" She replied finishing his sentence. "Does that mean we can't watch it because I was really looking forward to it if I'm being really honest?"
"Well, I'd hate to deprive you of that opportunity Miss Pierce."
"Hey, you have a child which gives you an excuse to indulge in animated movies, I have no such excuse," she said, pushing past him and into their suite. "So, where is the sick, little girl? I also have games and toys she might enjoy. Oh and it's Katherine by the way, how many times do I have to tell you that?"
"I never took you for the child type," he murmured.
"Well, you obviously don't know me very well yet," she scoffed. "My twin sister Elena has two children and I'm their favourite aunt, granted I'm their only aunt but that doesn't matter."
"I should have known given your ability to recite the entire script of Frozen unprompted," he chuckled.
"Don't think I didn't see you joining in on a few of those lines," she grinned.
When she'd convinced Elijah to let her sit with Isobel, Katherine hadn't imagined he'd end up next to her after another passenger offered to trade seats. Once the little girls had fallen asleep a few hours into the flight the two of them had discussed just about everything, except the obvious elephant in the room which was his wife. He didn't raise Tatia and Katherine felt weird bringing it up herself given they were practically strangers. Elijah seemed like an honourable kind of guy but why would this woman still call him her husband when it was clear he didn't wear a wedding ring?
"That's what happens when you are forced to endure the same movie a hundred times."
"You secretly liked it, I could tell," she smiled, placing her goodies on the couch. Katherine was a smart woman and she always did the proper thing but when it came to Elijah she couldn't retain some space given his situation, although the fact he had messaged to let her know she was unwell seemed to illustrate he was doing the same thing.
"Katherine," the little girl in question sang. She was wrapped in a light blue dressing gown her brown hair unkempt and a telling pale complextion. Katherine's heart immediately went out to the sick, little girl. "You're here."
"I am Izzy and I brought you a few things, you know if you're well enough to play with them," her sudden, happy expression told Elijah he only had one thing to say and that was yes. She'd been so weak and tired the past few days and it was wonderful to see some enthusiasm back in his little girl's brown eyes and it was all because of Katherine Pierce.
Arbory Bar, Melbourne
"I come in peace and in need of alcohol," Bonnie said, approaching Kol tentatively at the bar who was nursing a glass of scotch.
"It's okay, if you want to slap me I understand," he muttered, thinking back to Enzo's words. "If anything someone might win a bet out of it."
"A bet?" She asked in confusion. Kol inwardly sighed with relief, at least she didn't know about their stupid arrangement.
"It's nothing," he replied. "Can I get you a drink?"
"I'd love a vodka," she shared. "I'm still trying to get over the surprise quarter finals result to be honest."
"We all were until they decided to announce that they are ending their tennis partnership," Kol scoffed, gesturing to the barman for another drink.
"I'm sorry? I've been absent for what a few hours and this happens?" She squeaked. "Tell me this is a joke?"
"Apparently not," he responded. "They were unconvinced until they left here a half hour ago, Enzo and Matt are hoping it was temporary insanity and they'll come to their senses sooner rather than later."
"But why?"
"I wasn't there but apparently it has something to do with their inability to get along."
"Okay, now you've said it that wasn't difficult to guess," she drawled, taking the glass gratefully. "But after that win? They seemed so in sync on court for once."
"That was already covered, trust me," he explained. "It's probably best we just wait and see what happens, those two can be sensible every now and again."
"How do you do that?"
"Do what?" He asked, his brown eyes boring into hers deeply.
"Make everything sound like it's all going to be okay."
"You haven't grown up as the youngest of the Mikaelson siblings. Given all the dramatics you had to hope everything was going to right itself, even if it didn't feel that way at the time," he offered. "We could sit here and worry about it until morning or make better use of our time."
"What did you have in mind?" Bonnie asked, cocking her left eyebrow.
"Does that mean you might be interested?"
"Possibly," she answered, sending him her best smile. "Just as long as you don't try and hit on me again."
Southbank Bridge, Melbourne
"Why do I suddenly feel like it's the French Open again and I'm at the Pont des Arts in Paris?" Caroline asked noticing the stray locks attached to the bridge over the Yarra as they walked across it towards their hotel. They'd left the bar desperate to get away from the judgmental looks from their coaches and his sister in particular about their decision.
"Because they've obviously tried to recreate it here," he said. "Not that it's my kind of thing of course, Forbes."
"Well, that I'm not surprised about it Mikaelson," she teased. "Romance isn't really your thing."
"It might be," he spluttered, "You know if I'm in the mood and really tried."
"You realise being in the mood for possible romance doesn't mean sex, right?" His face softened in realisation at her inferrence. "That takes a lot more effort."
"Why?"
"You're hilarious, has anyone ever told you that?"
"Numerous times actually, love," he promised. Klaus was trying to ignore just how cute she looked in her blue dress that perfectly matched her eyes.
"Why do you insist on calling me that?"
"It's habit I guess and before you say it, it has nothing to do with its tennis score," he said. "You seemed torn before about our decision, if you don't mind me saying."
"Oh, because it would help your situation, right?"
"I never said that," he implored, placing his arms on her shoulders so that she stood still on the middle of the bridge as the city lights twinkled in the distance. "I'm onboard with whatever you decide." They held each other's gaze for what seemed like ages, completely oblivious to the passing foot traffic, some of whom recognised the celebrities in their travels.
"We did play extremely well," she shared. "Well, I certainly did anyway."
"It seems like someone has made an impression on you."
"Yeah an arrogant someone," she shot back, her bright, blue eyes blazing as she said it. "I just won't take his crap anymore so if he's willing to cooperate and not act like a five year-old then I'm willing to reconsider my decision." Klaus laughed, she always had that effect on him. "And to take this seriously."
"I agree," he replied solemnly, finally removing his arms from her shoulders even though every shred of his being was screaming at Klaus to stay in that very position for some reason. "So, how about we celebrate?"
"What do you mean?"
"Do something to cement our partnership."
"I am not getting a tattoo, Mikaelson, even if your face looks pretty on my skin."
"I had something else in mind, if you're game of course?"

Redemption: Chapter Four
Tumblr media
one - two - three - four - five - six - seven
I know it took me 84 years to get back to updating my chaptered fics, but that’s how life works folks 🤷‍♀️ I can’t promise I’ll do it more regularly, ‘cause I’m at weird point of my life right now (both personal and work related) and I’m trying my best to keep it all going. Well writing is one of the few things that keep me going, so don’t worry about that, recently I’m more of a ‘no schedule’ type of gal.
Words: 2624; Warnings: few smutty bits; Summary: London’s Continental is still Isobel’s and John’s safe haven, but the current danger is the old feeling between them that still burst in flames.

“There’s nothing wrong with you wanting to kiss me” John breath out and she finds herself wrapped in his arms. She missed that, feeling him close, feeling the heat of his body, but somehow it felt wrong this time. Perhaps because of all the things she never told him about.
“For me, Jonathan… there’s nothing right with it either.”
Heavy rain was pouring right behind Continental's window, droplets of it cutting through the air like sharp knives. The building itself was wrapped in scaffolds all around - it was the renovation after all.
They were still sitting at the empty bar. Another bottle of bourbon just got emptied. John decided to take a walk on the empty hallways, leaving the two women alone for a moment. He desperately needed to clear his mind from all of the annoying thoughts that were running through it after the last conversation he had with the two ladies.
For a brief moment, when he was looking at her for a tad bit longer than he should, admiring the view of her sitting in front of him, one leg atop of the other, ankles crossed, smile on her rouged lips as she pressed them closer to the drink she held in her hand, he thought that maybe… that maybe Isobel still loves him. But the thought itself was too unreal to be true.
“Did he at least said ‘thank you’?” Sybil broke the silence between them. Her dulcet tone mixed with the sounds of glass clinking and liquid pouring. The alcohol induced haze was slowly wearing off and it seemed like Sybil fancied to keep the intoxication on a steady level.
“He should be thanking me for what?” Isobel was really surprised by her friend’s question, she kept drawing circles with her wrist, the ice in her drink rolling from one side to another, before she lifted it up to her mouth, barely dipping her lips in the liquor.
“For saving his life in that shithole bar?” the black haired woman was pouring more vodka into her tall glass.
“Didn't you had enough of that?” Isa tried to grab the bottle her friend was holding in her hand and take it away from her, but Sybil was faster and she moved away from her reach.
“Hun, if we all going to be dead by tomorrow evening I'd rather die drunk and happy” she said and after mixing her liquor with a blue syrup, she drank it all in one big swig.
The blonde just rolled her eyes and took off her black sweater throwing it across the room onto one of the leathered settees. She fixed the strap of her lacy black corset she had underneath the sweater. The rest of her outfit was composed from matching black jeans and a pair of old not-so-surprisingly black work boots tied all the way up to half of her calf.
“Bullshit. They can't kills us here, you know the rules better than we do. You're the Manager after all” Isobel lit her cigarette and took a deep breath inhaling the smoke from it.
John was smoking his cigarette in the hallway, while looking through the window, staring at the people walking on the streets. He was thinking about all of the things she never told him about. What Isobel never spoke about? What was she hiding deep inside?
He trusted her with his whole life, he knew she would die just to save him, but he also knew that she had secrets just like anyone in the world did.
What is she whispering to Sybil when he's not around? About what things she really wants to talk about, but she's still too afraid to do so?
There are many things she wanted to tell him. But she's too afraid of how he will react to them. It was bad idea that they decided to split. She needed him so much back then, he had no idea. He was too focused on his work, never noticed that there was something bad going on with her. Few years passed, he married Helen and Isobel’s heart was broken once again.
“Just have another” Sybil said, putting new glass filled with alcohol next to the one her friend hasn’t really emptied yet.
“For fuck’s sake…”
“Cut the bullshit, just drink. You can't say “no” to me, I'm your host! We have a renovation going on, I'm hiding a man worth 14 millions at my place-” Sybil was cut off by the ringing sound of their phones.
“15 millions now” Isobel corrected her friend, while looking at her phone’s bright screen.
“...15 millions, perfect… and a woman who’s mad about the man. Hun, if you weren't my friend I'd shoot your Jonathan and right now I would be taking a bath with some handsome men in the Caribbean.”
“Who wants to shoot me?” John walked into the lounge area, holding another cigarette between his cut lips. His face was still swollen in some places, few bruises visible here and there, but overall he looked as handsome as always.
“The same set of people as usual,” Isobel said and finally managed to took away the bottle of vodka her friend was holding and threw it across the bar, “I know about your Russian roots, but for fuck’s sake stop fucking drinking right now!” she shouted at Sybil, making her jump up in her bar stool, “you can't shoot straight when you're too drunk!”
When Wick approached them, the blonde pulled a pack of cigarettes from his jacket pocket, took one from it, placed the pack onto the counter, then stuck the cig between her lips and lit it with the matte black lighter that was laid right next to her glass.
“I ran out of mine,” she spoke to him, her hazel eyes sparkling with something he wasn’t able to name. It was probably the alcohol, but he’d rather think that she’s just happy to see him, “and I really needed another one” she pulled him closer by his suit jacket, then unbuttoned it, slid it from his arms taking her time touching them, feeling how his muscles tensed under the her warm hands, and threw it into the same direction she had thrown her sweater earlier.
“Wow, are we getting into the nudity right now?” he asked surprised by her movement.
“It’s hot in here and you’re sweating. Don’t annoy me, please” Isobel took a gulp from her glass. She looked at him, taking another drag from her cigarette and laid back in her chair. John grabbed the drink she was holding in her hand and took a big sip from it. She didn’t objected. They used to drink like that, because it was faster. Two fast drinks before any assignment and they were ready to roll.
“You probably had enough of that” he said before downing the contents of the glass.
“But I’ve never had enough of you” leaning towards him she exhaled the smoke to the side and crushed the cigarette butt in the ashtray that was on the counter placed between every other thing, “and trust me John, it was fucking hard living that way” the fierce tone of her slightly tipsy voice made him giggle inside a bit.
His eyes glued to her face begin to slide down her scarred neck and onto her exposed collarbones. The tiny lavender branches she got tattooed ages ago were still in the same places he discovered them back in their days.
Wick felt the urge to touch her, to lay his hands on her body and feel the warmth she always radiated. He wanted to kiss her lips, to press his mouth atop of her and see if she tastes the same. The beard on his face would scratch the soft, but slightly scarred skin on her cheeks and she would giggle like she did back in the moments they shared together.
She was looking right in his eyes, her gaze strong, unavoidable. His face was looking better, maybe because of her skills and hotel’s first aid kit or maybe because the light was different now. Isobel’s face was inches away from his and all it took was to lean forward just one bit and she could finally kiss him, press her lips close to his.
The truth was that she knew it all was wrong, especially the thoughts she had in her mind now were terribly wrong, but she couldn’t help it. The feelings she hid ages ago wanted to burst out and onto the surface.
She moved from the high bar stool, sauntering further into the lounges area, disappearing between them from John’s sight. He was torn inside, didn’t know if he should follow her or just leave her alone. Perhaps she just needed some time on her own, so many things happened in the recent hours that it was unreal just to believe all of them.
Sybil was the one that sent his doubts back to where they belong: she poured another two glasses of bourbon and handed them to him, pointing with her head that he should run after her, “I’ll leave you two alone, don’t worry” she breathed, her voice just a mere whisper, so only John could hear her. “Just… be easy on her Wick, remember you’re the reason of a rumble in her chest. Don’t fuck it up this time, alright? She’s determined to save you… let her do it.”
He just nodded his head to her and without saying a word, still holding firmly those two drinks in his hand, turned around on his heel and moved into the lounge area, determined to find Isobel.
There she was, curled on one of the sofas, her head pressed into the headrest, eyes closed, lips slightly apart. Her chest was slowly moving up and down, as if she was in a light state of dreaming and John couldn’t fight the urge to stare, his eyes flickering between her soft facial features, the exposed skin of her collarbones, the cleavage of the corset she had on…
“It’s not polite to stare like that, John…” her hazel eyes were piercing right through him and when he looked up and their gazes met she smiled. His face was flustered, cheeks rosy with the memory of every night or morning they had the chance to spend together. She quickly discarded her boots and moved to the other end of the sofa, grabbing John by his tie and pulling him closer.
John placed the two glasses he held in his hands on the table and sat right next to her, their thighs pressed together.
“I want to hold you close…” John mumbled out, his hands gently caressing hers, then sliding over to her thighs, where he ran them upwards, slightly moving in the seat, so he could press his body to hers.
“That wasn’t the issue… you never failed to please me” her fingers moved to the collar of his shirt and undid the first button, slowly fiddling with his black tie.
“Then why you left? Without even saying a word? Without leaving a note?”
“Can we talk about it while being sober?” she undid another few buttons on his shirt, unwrapping his tie from around his neck and let her hand slide down his chest.
John purred a little, when she scratched his skin, “I want to feel your skin pressed against me tight” Isobel mumbled into his mouth, pulling him closer by his shirt, making him fall atop of her and she straddled him a little, wrapping her legs around his waist.
Even when he married Helen, Isobel was still in the back of his mind, in his heart in that hotel suite where she lived for so long, it’d be too strange if he suddenly forgot her.
Isobel was his true love and he couldn’t be able to deny it. As well as he couldn’t be able to deny the fact that he was still madly in love with her. The feeling never changed, nor would with her gun pressed against his forehead.
“John…” she breathed against his mouth making it curl into a smile. His large hand cupped the back of her neck, keeping her securely in place.
You tugged very lightly on his hair and he looked right back up at you, only to press his lips to yours in a soft kiss. He pulled your body closer against his again with his hand flat against your back, needily moving his lips with yours.
“I missed that” he mumbled against the skin of your neck, leaving a path of wet, open mouthed kisses all the way down to her arm.
“And I missed that…” her voice is like a soft music to him, the familiar tune he hadn’t heard in ages.
“I want to touch you…” his voice is deeper, more lustful and he dips his head to press a searing kiss between her breasts.
“J-John… you’re already doing that” he slid downwards, until he stopped at her hip level and she lifted them so he could pull down her pants, discarding them to the side before crawling over her again.
Isobel let her hands run over his chest and he sighed, leaning into her touch and closing his eyes. She quickly undid the rest of the buttons and slid the shirt off his arms, letting it fell to the floor. Wrapping her arms around his neck and pulled him down to press her lips against his she kissed him passionately like they were young again.
Feeling him smile into the kiss, she wanted to pull him closer but he teasingly bit her lip before sitting back up and unbuttoning his trousers, making her watch his every move intently as if she was afraid she’d miss something. Isobel watched him stand up and take off his trousers and she used the moment as an opportunity to sit up and undo her corset, just in time before he crawled back over her again, picking up the kiss where he’d left off as if he’d never left her lips and without warning let his hand run down into her underwear, making Isobel gasp against his lips and hold on to his arm when he began to rub his thumb over her most sensitive spot, his fingers teasing her entrance.
She stared at his bruised hand that slowly disappeared between her legs and there was something different about it now. The lack of the cold feeling that should’ve been caused by his wedding ring that was previously wrapped around his finger, or rather the view of it simply not being there was burning her eyes.
