Since I'm writing a/b/o fic(s) with Santino and John, how do you see omega Santino and alpha John? Like, for example when the heat hits Santino, how does he act? Is he really needy and wants John to take care of him (by take care of him I mean both freaky time and actual comfort 😋)? Or he's moody and snaps at John for literally anything? Ofc, how does John act, too, in that situation :P

So many possibilities AGAIN lmaoo I'm having lots of fun with this. I have my versions of this but I'm curious on yours :3

Oh boy...I have never written a/b/o before but tbh I do like it >_< so here we go haha!! There's a first time for everything ✨

I really love the way their dynamic is written in your fics!! There's a lot of nuance and tension. Santino is clingy and needy, but also angry and irritable. Santino is the one seducing John, even though he is the omega (who we might expect to have less control). So I would keep a lot of that.

But here, I tried to imagine starting a fic from scratch and coming up with their dynamic on my own. I think I'd write something with these main points:

John has always been uncomfortable with being an alpha. It's something that the High Table used to their advantage when treating him as a weapon. It allowed him to fight harder by going into a kind of berserk state, so they encouraged it and he was sometimes even given access to the scent of omegas before battle to send him into a frenzy. At the same time, he was never given access to an actual omega, because his employers didn't want him to form attachments. So he initially associates his alpha with a lot of past trauma and both sexual and emotional frustration. He wishes he was just a normal beta.

Meanwhile, Santino has a similar backstory to the one you wrote - the Camorra forced him to hide his omega status with scent blockers and he was heavily shamed for it by his father. So he has shame attached to this too. But deep down, he likes his omega and wants to express that part of himself very much.

They are overwhelmed by each other's scents, obviously. Both of them are powerful examples of the type, and well suited to each other. I think Santino smells a bit like the ocean - something beautifully fresh yet full of salt to the point that it's almost unbearably delicious and it makes John want to drink him in (John is thirsty LMAO). John smells very animal. Musk and leather.

When I think about Santino's heat, I try to think about what's actually happening in his body and how he's experiencing that. Firstly, he's experiencing a lot of discomfort. He's in physical distress, almost as if he had the flu and a fever, and he gets deep, visceral loneliness and craving for affection as if he had been touch starved for weeks. So he's going to respond to that the same way he would respond to an illness or an emotional upset - by initially pretending he's fine and snapping at everyone at the slightest provocation until it's abundantly clear that he's not fine. He deeply fears to appear weak or to be a burden. But, once John realizes what's happening and proves that he's going to be there for Santino anyway, there's no more reason to hide his feelings. At that point, Santino breaks down and becomes incredibly clingy.

What Santino needs, and what John provides, when he's in heat: LOTS of physical touch (he can't stand to not be cuddling John, or at least holding his hand, even for a second), massage for all the aches in his body, a place where he feels safe and not threatened, a warm nest to curl up in so that he is surrounded by soft things on all sides, having his requests provided for (food and water brought to him, tasks done for him if he asks, etc.), and of course SEX.

As for John's experience of Santino's heats (and his own resulting heat), he's initially afraid of himself. He feels out of control so he tries to resist his desires, which he is pretty good at doing. Only when he realizes that he genuinely cares for Santino and wants to protect him, both as an omega and as a person, does he let himself go fully into alpha mode. At that point, he is absolutely scary to everyone around him who is not Santino. His pupils are so swollen that his eyes look black, he feels an intense bloodlust that makes his fighting significantly better, he is almost completely incapable of speaking (just grunts and body language), and he will do anything to get to Santino and protect him. If a door is locked and it takes too long to unlock it, he'll just tear it off the hinges. He is feral.

The relationship is very healing for both of them. For John, his alpha is finally being given a positive outlet for its protectiveness, not just being used as a weapon. For Santino, he can finally express who he truly is without shame. They are inseparable and their bond runs deep.

John would actually not be too scared of becoming a parent - he feels like he was made for that and has always wanted a family. He has so much love to give and that would extend to having a child. He'd read fairy tales to the baby while Santino is still pregnant and talk to them about the wonderful they'll have. But he would be scared of what could happen to that kid and what kind of life they'll lead under the High Table. He'd get paranoid over the baby's safety and how they could be used against him in the future, just like Caine's daughter was used against him. I think he'd try to keep the pregnancy a secret as long as possible. And he would worry a lot about how to ensure that this child grows up to have a normal life.

Meanwhile, Santino is the one who'd be very scared of becoming a parent. He'd think about how his own parents treated him and realize that he didn't really have a good role model for parenting. He'd be especially worried that he might lose his temper with the kid, which he doesn't want at all. He would feel so unprepared and have major anxiety about that. Of course, John would constantly reassure him that he'll be a good dad and remind him how sweet he is to Dog already.

Santino would also struggle a lot with how his body would change during the pregnancy. Being more tired, being sore and unable to walk well, feeling sick and having cravings - all of it would make him feel so stressed and out of control. It would take him away from his work, and at first, he'd ignore all of it and try to push through to keep working. But for once, he couldn't ignore his own health without putting the baby at risk too. Normally, he takes out a lot of his anger on himself and he can't do that anymore, which is beautiful in a way but also completely confusing. He'd definitely have a breakdown over that at some point. But after that, he'd start accepting help from John, and would switch from pushing him away to clinging to his side at all times, not even wanting him to leave the room.

John would try to make things easier for him by explaining that this is a time when he needs to focus on staying healthy and relaxing, and that everything will be waiting for him when he comes back. He'd tell him that it's okay to be frustrated and angry with the situation, and would listen any time Santino needs to rant about everything he's missing out on and how scared he feels. And John would be doing everything possible for him - bringing him any food he wants, making sure he doesn't have to walk long distances, making sure he gets to see the best doctors in the world, all of that. He'd give him massages every day and wouldn't want to spend even a second away from him. John would also be insanely physically protective of Santino during this time.

Santino would also try to help John by considering long term changes to make John feel better about whether their lives are headed. He'd pull back from his work with the Camorra and maybe even consider running away or retiring. But that isn't what he wants to do. It makes him question what it means to be successful and whether he can work and have a child at the same time (I might be slightly enjoying the thought of a man having this dilemma, which isn't so common...). It's a lot to think about, and it weighs heavily on both of them. But at least it comes from the fact that they're making a whole new life together!

It's hard to say what they would decide to do. I guess we'll find out in your fic!! I'm very excited!!!

Chapter 1 - Youth

The D'Antonio family has been among the most known and powerful families for years, every representative in the High Table was an alpha. Only a handful of omegas have been born in the families over the years.

Now, Gianna being the first born and an alpha was the best choice for the next representative of the High Table.

And then Santino, born as an omega.

Being the only omega in the family, he was mostly kept away from his father's meetings with others. They were mostly alphas and betas. However, Gianna was allowed to those meetings.

From the young age, he was always compared to his sister, whatever he had done was never good enough for his father as well as his interests.

He was more close with his mother. His father was rough with him, but his mother was gentle. She had patience, love and she always told him that it's okay to show emotions.

Sadness, anger. Any emotions he was feeling. It wasn't good to suppress it. That's just how it is. Suppressing your emotions can be harmful, right?

His father tried to make his both children more like him. But it didn't really work. Not with Santino, neither with Gianna. She was just better at hiding all that in front of their father while Santino went with their mother's words.

After their mother died, Santino took that the hardest. Gianna would spent hours trying to comfort her younger brother, trying to calm him down and kept promising him that everything's going to be okay. Just like their mother kept telling them both.

"You two are going to be okay. I promise you both will do your best in life, do what you want and be happy. And I'm hopefully going to be there to watch you two grow."

Except she, unfortunately, wasn't there to watch them. To protect them both from the toxicity of their father. Not anymore.

It broke him. He thought he wouldn't be able to continue living normally. And he was only 10 when it happened.

Over the years, Santino kept being humiliated by his father and it got worse when Santino's nature started doing its job. His first heat, his first symptoms. That day, his father locked him into his room and told him that he can't get out until it passes.

Gianna only managed to sneak in to give him food and water and to comfort him. "Father has a meeting with some alphas, he wants to keep you away from them for your own safety." She told him. It wasn't entirely a lie, it's just that his father didn't want others questioning him about his omega son. If they smelled him they would know instantly. And that would just be embarrassing.

Yet his first heat was one of the worsts since he didn't know what to do. Going through cramps, breathing heavily and sweating while feeling dazed.

Gianna read about omega heats and genuinely tried her best to make him comfortable. He refused to eat and she had to keep reminding him to drink water. He was restless, felt like he had a fever. She brought him some of his favorite clothes to help him get more comfortable, to maybe try and make a nest.

He did surround himself on the bed with his favorite clothes and a blanket that his mother gifted him when he was little. All that calmed him down a little. Gianna gently went through his hair with her fingers and kept telling him in a soothing way that the heat will go away soon and if he needs privacy she can leave.

Surprisingly, he let her stay for some time. He felt like he needed someone to be with him, to help him get through this.

With other heats, his father started to get him pills as a heat suppressant as well as scent blockers. When Santino refused to take them he was almost kicked out, so he got beaten and yelled at.

Forced to take the pills, he could've stayed and actually sometimes be included in the meetings.

He actually learned how to ignore the nasty looks of the alphas that were in the same room with him. It made him feel sick.

He wasn't looking for a mate. Wasn't interested into any of them. He just wanted to do what he wants.

And he got that. Freedom.

His father got sick, soon after that he died. What a tragedy.

The seat was left to Gianna and she stayed in Rome. However, Santino didn't want to stay. He moved away to New York. Far away from everyone.

Maybe he didn't know what he was doing, maybe he should've stayed until he got a proper security with him. But, he has Ares and a few other. None of them alphas, just betas. Good enough for him but his sister thought he needed an alpha to protect him.

"I don't need an alpha, I have everything under control without a horny bastard to breath down my neck."

That didn't stop Gianna to find him the best of the best bodyguard/assassin, John Wick.

I noticed it especially in tik tok edits but in general I think you can say that while the male audience sees John as the ruthless alpha male killer (I hate his alpha sigma bs), the female audience sees him as the broken, grieving, loving husband

*This dosn’t mean that females don’t enjoy him as an badass killer

It also reminds me of the thought that men will never know what it is to watch xy movie from a female perspective

Currently thinking of certain factions of fandom who tend to demonize Laura Hale. What exactly did she do that was so awful?

Leaving her injured and catatonic uncle in a care facility? Do they think he would've miraculously healed in New York if she brought him along (if that was even an option)? They seem to think she abandoned him or should've done more. What exactly, dear fandom?

Laura was a young woman who suffered a devastating loss and had to be the leader and look out for her younger brother and injured uncle. Cora was assumed dead too. Similar to Scott, she didn't ask to be alpha.

What did they expect her to do? Wage war against the perpetrators? She didn't know who was involved but she did return when Peter lured her. Fandom thinks she was unfit for the role of alpha because she wasn't ripping throats out and hunting down culprits, that she ~abandoned~ her uncle in a vulnerable state, blah blah.

The way they get angry at Scott disobeying Peter and Derek, you'd think they'd be livid over Peter killing his alpha who was also his niece who was the ~heir~ to Talia. Sacrilege!

Scott didn't ~trust~ Stiles? Well, Petey didn't trust his alpha! Why the secrecy? Why not report in immediately upon gaining consciousness?

*dons the stylish hat of Fandom Logic* Oh, oh Peter was involved in the Hale Fire! He always craved the mantle of alpha and needed Talia out of the way. But he got betrayed by Kate in the end and locked in with the rest of the family. That's why he insisted he's always been the alpha, he was promised the power if he helped destroy the pack. It's why he lured Laura back and killed her instead of communicating, he just wanted the power.

Your question puts me in mind of an argument both This Discontented Winter and Athena Dark have made to counter my indictments of fandoms worship of Peter Hale. To paraphrase TDW, "does all entertainment have to be a morality play?"

The simplistic answer to their bad faith riposte, is "No, it doesn't." You can watch two people sit in a room and not talk to each other. You can watch art hang motionless on a wall or paint dry, but these wouldn't be particularly popular forms of visual entertainment. What excites an audience is how the actors, the characters, the players treat each other, which is governed by principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behavior. In other words, morality.

People watch the Real Housewives franchise because they want to watch rich women behaving badly. People watch John Wick movies because they want to watch ultra violence performed without regard for human life and instead operate on a different code of behavior. Telenovelas, true crime documentaries, space operas, super hero movies -- all the pleasure their audiences gain from it revolve around decisions people make about how to treat each other. They watch it FOR the morality -- or the LACK of it.

The only forms of modern entertainment I can think of that don't focus on morality are professional sports and talent shows, and both of these take it as a given that neither side is cheating. Even Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom proposed to show us the behavior of animals so we can recognize their beauty and right to exist. My apologies to the BNF, but that's morality, too.

When This Discontented Winter bemoans the idea of all entertainment as morality play and Athena Dark that storytelling doesn't have to have a message, what they are in fact arguing for is the ability to celebrate evil. To freely indulge in the type of moral equivocation that allows them to take pleasure in the triumph of a man murdering his niece for power. You know how I know this, because if they truly wanted to enjoy something without the moral dimension, they wouldn't go to such great lengths to protect their blorbos from any moral condemnation.

Thus, we get the idea that Laura deserved death because she abandoned Peter in the long-term care facility, in which he rested safely for six years without the Argents even being aware of his location. We get the idea that Laura deserved death because she didn't seek vengeance for her family, even though she was absolutely looking for the person responsible for the death of her family -- we saw actual physical evidence of it. Thus we get the idea that Peter had no idea what he was doing, that he was out of his mind, only to find out later -- when none of the other characters believe that anymore -- that he was aware of what he was doing all along.

Remember Master Plan (2x12):

Peter: No. It's a laptop. What century are you living in? A few days after I got out of the coma, I transferred everything that we had. Fortunately, the Argents aren't the only ones that keep records.

Wow, that's a remarkable amount of foresight for a person who was supposedly so out of his mind that he shouldn't be held responsible for what he did.

The true problem with BNF trying to argue that we don't have to approach the show with an eye toward morality is because the show absolutely did. It was baked into the substance of the show from the get go. The characters are formed to make choices about how they treat other people. To use their own words, we have to treat the entertainment that is called Teen Wolf as a morality play because it IS a morality play. Every story is.

And this is the problem with fandom, which I've noted again and again and again in regards to Star Wars, Shadow and Bone, and now Loki. They want to extract the characters from the moral schema in which they were situated and put them in a new situation, yet pretend that there isn't a moral dimension to this act. And there is, because this new situation is one where only certain considerations are treated as valid, mostly exploitation of the baser instincts of human nature for the benefit of a very small class of stand-ins, defined by race, class, and gender.
