Thinking about an alternate universe gemini coven (don't know if they would even be called that) where the merge is between the Coven leader and the heir. I don't know I was just thinking of greek mythology style of the Kronos overthrowing Ouranos and then Zeus overthrowing Kronos and then Zeus's kids plotting to overthrow him.

Hi ! It's going to sound weird but....

How do you think Kai would have influenced Luke's personality if Luke actually won during the merge ?

I know Kai was stronger, but let's say Luke wins.

He was already pretty strong since he was able to break Liv out of the spell she was trying to do. He was stronger than his sister. He would have won if they were to do the merge. I don't exactly remember how powerful he was but I suppose he was fairly quite good with magic.

And magical powers aside, he has quite a strong personality. He's fed up with the Mystic Falls gang bullshit. He was not even that scared of Kai. I mean, he knew his brother was a freaking threat, but he did not hesitate to go on his own and do the merge with Kai. Even when Kai didn't want to do it Luke was like "Hey bitch, you scared I could win ?"

I don't think Luke really thought he could win or maybe he did, anyway he just wanted it to end. He wanted to project his sisters.

So, with Kai's personality inside of him, what would he be like ? I think that guy would at least find a way to end that Gemini tradition crap about the merge, and the lives of the whole coven linked to the leader.

Apart from that I don't know.

That would not be as fun as seeing Kai struggle with new emotions 🤣 but I want to see Luke being even more badass you know.

This is a very interesting question! Tho I have wondered what Jo would be like if she merged w Kai & won, I've never wondered about Luke until now... I think it could be a very compelling arc for him & the gemini coven. Here's what I think would happen! (I wrote a whole ass mini-fanfic in my answer lmfao):

Fresh after the merge: Luke would initially act & feel almost exactly like same old Luke, except maybe he'd rightfully be a bit more grim, traumatized and world-weary after defeating Kai. Liv & Jo would be concerned but he'd tell them not to worry bc he just needs some time to recover & leading the coven rn is more important than his mental health anyway (aka the FIRST Red Flag). Liv & Jo would disagree but let it go for now to avoid stressing him out.

First few months as leader: I think Luke's first order of business would be to undo the damage Joshua did as a terrible coven leader. That might mean overturning fucked up coven laws, etc. but Joshua doesn't like this, so he gets his supporters in the coven to back him & veto Luke's changes. Meanwhile, Luke's own coven support is growing bc I do believe he'd be a MUCH better leader than Joshua, so old man's resentment grows more. Eventually, it reaches a point where Luke feels boxed in like he can't make any real GOOD change bc of Joshua's puppets & THAT is when... the whispers of Kai's voice begin to awaken in Luke's mind. Uh-oh...

Conflict resolution 101: The part of Luke that's in control tries to be diplomatic about getting rid of Joshua's supporters but it just. doesn't. work. The assholes are FLUENT in gemini bureaucracy bc they've been around longer so they outmaneuver Luke constantly. That's when Kai begins suggesting some... less diplomatic solutions, including the idea that Joshua's supporters wouldn't be such a problem if JOSHUA was gone. Luke spends a long time rejecting this & literally warring with himself, so Liv & Jo are like "dude are u ok" and in a moment of weakness he admits his idea about taking joshua out. They're shocked, but after a sec, they're like "wait this is the same man who tried to off his own kids more than once. Uk what? yes lets do it." And suddenly all 3 (ahem, 4) Parker kids are plotting to put dad in a magical coma (hmm does that sound familiar? I wonder which sibling's idea this was...) so he can't influence his supporters anymore. And the siblings succeed! Joshua's out! but it becomes their lil secret, hidden from the coven...

A Good Ol' Frame Job: Lo and behold, Joshua's supporters still stay loyal to the man in a coma instead of Luke! Liv & Jo are like "it's fine luke, dad isn't gonna wake up so eventually they'll have no choice but to listen to you" but KAI isn't convinced... and neither is Luke. Diplomacy didn't work, sleeping beauty-ing joshua didn't work, so now he needs to play dirty. He doesn't jump to violence or anything - he simply frames a few of them for crimes they didn't commit. Snakey, but simple. Only problem is... Luke can't recall if this idea was his own, or Kai's...... bc they're both equally likely to have thought of it. Kai's influence is growing... So when Jo & Liv come to him like "wow crazy how those supporters got revealed as criminals right? That worked out conveniently," Luke goes w the safest option & says "haaa yea what a coincidence! no idea how that happened" ......and now he's lying to his sisters (Big Red Flag #2)

Calm before the storm: Now that joshua's remaining supporters (who haven't been framed) are very few, Luke doesn't face much resistance anymore & he actually succeeds at reforming a lot of fucked up gemini practices & making positive change. Maybe he even succeeds at eliminating the merge altogether! Luke's flying high, believing he's a true protector of the geminis & the best leader and savior (which, to be fair, he rly is better than the shitty leaders before him)! Kai's influence here is very sneaky bc some of Luke's old sense of humor comes back to him, with some new hints of cockiness that weren't there before. Luke's golden boy charm & Kai's cockiness creates the perfect politician cocktail & liv and jo appreciate the good he's done for geminis but also lowkey resent the big-headed self-important persona he's growing.

But THEN there's trouble in paradise: joshua's leftover supporters find a piece of evidence that proves Luke framed the others & they threaten Luke w it, deducing that he also had smthg to do w Joshua's coma. They order him to step down but he can't do that. Not now, when he's finally *this* close to changing the coven for good! These pricks will wake joshua & bring the old laws back! No, he can't let that happen, he can't let it- ....Luke snaps. He blacks out, then wakes up in horror to realize he violently killed. them. all. He panics, calling Jo & Liv for help BUT to cover his ass, he lies & says he had to kill them bc they found out about "all 3 of them" cursing Joshua... while choosing not to mention how they also discovered his frame jobs. Liv & Jo are horrified yet they help him cover this up bc he's falsely led them to believe their asses are also on the line for cursing joshua... but then Jo notices some of them were killed in very "Kai" ways (bled to death from their spleens getting cut out, etc.) & Liv finds the piece of evidence they had that links Luke to the frame jobs...... the 2 of them realize Luke is not in control anymore.

The Climax: Liv & Jo confront Luke, asking him to step down but warning him that they'll MAKE him if he doesn't agree. He doesn't agree. A fight ensues & Luke is pretty OP despite the 2 v. 1. Luke gets *this* close to killing them (while Kai cheers him on), but then says SIKE and kills JOSHUA's comatose body instead, shocking everyone. Jo, Liv AND Kai are like "wha- why?!" & Luke the politician diabolically reveals that he can't bring himself to kill them - but he can frame them for Joshua's death & turn the coven against them.... OR he can frame the dead supporters for Joshua's death & save his sisters, IF Liv & Jo stay loyal to his cause. At this ultimatum, Jo & Liv finally give up, saying they'd rather get framed or killed than let him rule the coven like this. The Kai in Luke gets triggered by their abandonment bc he's a gOoD LEADER can't u SEE?! Kai's increased presence & Luke's increased lack of control make his SIPHONING manifest for the first time & he unintentionally starts siphoning the sisters. And Luke gets triggered by them trying to overthrow him bc he's the OnLy one who can PROTECT the coven!! Just like he protected Jo & Liv from Kai!! At this point the sisters' resentment RLY comes out like "WE DIDNT ASK YOU TO!! YOU chose to merge to protect us WITHOUT ASKING what WE wanted!! U literally knocked out Jo when she was ABOUT to merge! You protected us bc that's what U wanted, not US. And now the coven doesn't need to be protected BY you anymore, it needs to be protected FROM you!!" Like a bucket of ice water, Luke realizes he's siphoning his sisters rn. He has become Kai. They're right. He is not in control anymore. He steps away & realizes the whole coven itself is broken. The best way to save it is to take the ruling family nonsense out of it & free everyone. He agrees to step down & Jo & Liv help him break the coven link altogether and they free the coven! For a moment, it seems like Kai is going to stop them, but then even the Kai in his mind realizes the coven fucked him over his whole life & he'd much rather see it gone. So all 4 kids unite in Sibling Solidarity and liberate the coven!

Epilogue: Luke gets therapy & that means Kai begrudgingly gets it too bc he's stuck in luke's head. They both start healing & finding a medium ground of how to share space in luke's head. Kai even uses Luke to apologize to Liv & Jo for his own crimes. I'd like to think he'd even get Luke to go to Bonnie and apologize on his behalf & maybe help her out whenever he can, tho i don't think it would be sexual, bc in canon the merge didn't change kai's sexuality so i doubt it would change luke's. But yea I think bonnie would still at least have a new ally in luke thanks to the Kai in him xD

no one asked but here's what I would do if I could rewrite the Parkers arc on TVD:

starting out Kai would leave after taking Jo's magic. I don't even care where he goes or if his final line in season six is "have a good life, sissy" but my boy would disappear and go run free for a while and leave mystic falls behind. So no second stent in a prison world or being a blood-bag for a bunch of heretics (like y'all wonder why he came back to the wedding swinging).

But we'd need to figure out how to avoid killing Jo and Liv in the process, so we'd be relying on some silly TVD loophole. As coven leader his ass should be able to sever the ties binding them.

(or maybe jo gets given vampire blood at the hospital pre wedding and when he stabs her she wakes up too but as a vampire i don't KNOW and i don't care but we keep the three of them alive end of discussion. the Red Wedding is so deliciously evil of him part of me wants to keep it but maybe we focus on making it about killing their awful dad/the abusive family and leave the siblings out of it).

so yes, Jo would somehow make it through the wedding unscathed, leaving Caroline out of the horrible gemini baby incubator plot line.

Liv and Tyler get back together post wedding gate, and in season 7 they're hopefully enjoying college and making plans for the future. She's still broken up about Luke, obviously, but she's finding ways to heal. He's helping her, she's helping him, they're healthy and adorable and 100% on track for marriage.

In season 7 we'd see Jo and Ric adjusting to pregnancy/parenthood, with the mystic falls gang rallying around them to help.

We'd get an occasional check in on Kai: i want him off being ridiculous on islands and in europe and just vibing being a menace wherever he'd like; maybe the MFG call him for magical advice since he's wicked smart where the witch histories are involved or maybe hes still hung up on bonnie and calling every few months to see if she misses him yet (she'll never admit she does).

In Season 8, the saltzman girls start to get their powers. The gang hasn't heard from Kai in a while, maybe we haven't even seen him in town since he left in season 6. But he shows up unannounced one afternoon on Jo and Ric's porch (they've upped to a family house) asking if he's missed dinner. It's a holiday: my boys got an awful sweater on, a baked good in one hand and a sack of presents for the girls in the other. I'd also like a santa hat with a little bell if it's christmas.

The loophole about Jo saying she'd kill him if he ever came back is that now she's a mom, and the girls are confirmed witches (which makes them official members of the coven) so if he dies they die, and he doesn't think Jo will kill her own kids.

Obviously he's right, so a super weird and uncomfortable "family" dinner ensues. The girls have no idea who he is at first, but they're thrilled to meet a new Uncle. They have questions about their mom growing up, and questions about Kai now and where he lives, and Josie, especially, has questions about what's wrong with them.

Lizzy is nervous around new people, but Josie isn't even the tiniest bit afraid of him. She peppers him with question after question, hardly letting him catch his breath:

If he's a siphon like her, how come he has magic of his own now? Can she ever have that, too? Does letting her magic drain out ever stop hurting? Will she ever be as good a witch as Lizzy? Why were they born like this?

And Kai can't help but fall for her. No one answered his questions when he was a kid, so he takes his time telling her the truth now. He still doesn't know why the spirits did this to them and not their sisters - but there's nothing stopping Josie from being as powerful as she wants to be.

(Except him, of course, but she doesn't need to know that.)

At dinner, Jo and Ric sit at either end of the table, and Kai sits in the middle across from the girls. Lizzy's warmed up to him now and keeps asking him for special tricks. They haven't seen a real witch except for Aunt Bonnie, and having one so close for the evening - let alone someone they're actually related to, is a novelty they can't pass up.

Suddenly Kai flicks his wrist, and the girls freeze in their seats. "They're cuter than I thought they'd be," he admits.

"What did you do to them?" Ric growls, starting to stand. But Kai keeps him in his seat with another wave of his hand, smiling at both of them.

"We need to have a little chat," he tells them, "grown ups only."

"So send them to their rooms," Jo snaps, "we don't use magic on our children-,"

"Oh nice," Kai nods, "good on you for breaking the family traditions. But this will only take a moment, sissy, and they won't remember a thing. Pinky promise."

"Fine," Jo says, "what is it?"

"Simple question," Kai sighs. "I know which one of them is my favorite, but how about you two?"

Jo and Ric can only stare at him.

"You probably like Lizzy best, right?" Kai asks, rolling his eyes at Jo. "But what about you, Ric? Does Josie being a little freak bother you? Or does it not really matter, since you've never been a witch anyway?"

"Kai-," Jo tries to stop him, but he brushes her off.

"Don't pretend you don't have a secret favorite," he says. "You and I both know every parent does. Now tell me which one it is, and I'll unfreeze them."

"Why would I ever do that?" Jo asks. "I don't HAVE a favorite, I love them both."

"Well," Kai hums. "I suppose I could kill them both, if it's what you want. But between us it only really needs to be one of them. I thought you'd at least want to pick which one you got to keep."

He flicks his wrist, and the girls go back to peppering him with questions. Jo and Ric exchange panicked, horrified glances.

"Why are you two looking at me like that?" Kai asks, making sparks dance on his fingers for the girls. "I'm being nice, or did you miss the part where I said you could keep one of them?"

Later, after Ric and Jo have had a heated debate on what they should or shouldn't do, Jo takes the girls into the living room where Kai's waiting.

"Oof, bit harsh, sissy," he says, standing, "making one of them watch?"

Jo doesn't say anything, she just stops before him, the girls standing between them.

"Who's it going to be?" He asks, cracking his knuckles.

"I don't know," Jo says, "because I can't decide, and I'm not going to."

Kai tips his head back, groaning. "Come on, that wasn't the deal-,"

"I didn't agree to any deal," she reminds him, keeping a tight grip on each of her daughters. "I love them both, Kai, equally. If you want me to pick Lizzy because she's the easier option, I'm not going to do it. Josie is just as much a witch as any of us, and I'm not going to give up on her just because we might have hard days. I'm their mother, I can't make this choice."

Kai glares at her, knowing where she's headed.

"So if this is really what you want to do, then you look at your nieces right now," she orders, "and pick."

Kai rolls his eyes. This is her big plan?

Fine, easy.

He drops down to his knees before the girls, looking at each of them. Josie shuffles a bit closer, tugging the edge of his sleeve.

"Uncle Kai," she whispers, "did we do something wrong?"

Kai's expression falters. "No," he says, "you - you haven't done anything."

"Then why are you and mommy fighting?" Lizzy asks, tilting her head.

"Because your mom is being difficult," Kai pinches the bridge of his nose, "can you two just be quiet for a minute?"

"Sorry, Uncle Kai," Josie shrinks in on herself, drawing her little hand away from his arm.

He stares at them, and they stare right back at him. It should be easy - but it isn't. Josie has his eyes, his hair, his curse. And Lizzy can't shut up to save her life, she's twitching now with the need to ask him something else.

"You're both so - small," he says, one hand on each of their cheeks. "You're kids," his eyes flick up to where Jo still stands above them, "they're just kids."

"I know," Jo agrees, "so were we."

and just like that, we've got an immortal coven leader and no need to ever do a merge again

Damon slammed down the bourbon in his glass quickly hearing what Klaus referred to as the save Elena gang coming into the house. Caroline flipped her hair, stomping down the stairs. “Damon, what was so important that you had to send almost twenty phone calls?”

He threw his head back grumbling. “Oh I’m sorry blondie but I thought it was important to tell everyone that there is a new witch in town that straight up threw me off the hybrid's front porch when I had asked her name.”

“Did she say what type of witch she was?” Bonnie asked to come into the room with Elena.

Damon glared at her. “Were you not listening when I said she launched me off the porch before I could find anything else out!”

Stefan got up from the couch slumping his shoulders. “Alright Damon calm down. Why exactly are you worried about. I mean you don’t usually have a good track record with them. But what exactly is so important about this one?”

Damon held one his mouth not actually knowing what to say next and to everyone’s surprise it was Caroline who spoke up for him. “Because she can take away your strength and turn it into magic somehow.”

“You know something about her, blondie. Don’t you dare stop talking about everyone’s lives now.” The raven haired vampire spat in her direction.

She crossed her arms over her chest rolling her eyes at him. “I don’t know anything else but she came out of the Grill with Klaus and he looked like he wanted to rip her heart out of her chest. She grabbed my shoulder and I saw her hand turn red. Next thing we knew she was gone and had completely disappeared. I went home a little weak so I assumed it was her doing.”

“Bonnie, do you know any type of witches that can do that?” Stefan asked the witch of their group.

She shrugged her shoulders eyeing him. “I can look through the family grimoires but as far as I know the only way a witch wouldn’t have their own power is if she was turned into a vampire.”

“Do you think Klaus would use her to come after me?” Elena asks knowing that they hybrid wanted to make his own army but he needed her blood to do so.

Damon poured some more bourbon sitting the glass down on the table beside the large fireplace. “It’s Klaus, Elena. He doesn’t care about anything except getting what he wants. We need to find a way to put down a witch that can take away our strengths.”

“Wait a second. Do we really have to view her as an enemy?” The blonde questioned, raising her hand slightly in the air.

Elena turned to her friend. “What do you mean?”

“I mean she’s clearly scared in a new place and we have assumed she is an enemy. We haven’t even given her a chance to defend herself. Don’t you think we should get to know her first?” She explains simply.

Damon grumbled. “And then we will all skip down the street singing zippy dada right before she murders us all!”

“Caroline’s right.” Stefan declared moments after. “Since she has met you once you should try and get close to her.” She nodded hoping that it was the right thing to do.

Klaus’s Mansion

Staring out the window I was completely bored just sitting in my bedroom in this large house. Rebekakh was roaming the town and Klaus was off in another state for who knew how long. I didn’t feel like leaving the house even though I had put a hidden spell around myself so my family couldn’t find me. “You seem to be doing pretty well for yourself, Raelyn.”

“Who the hell is there? Show yourself now!” Whipping my head around, I gasped not seeing anyone in the bedroom. But I could swear that I could hear a voice that I recognized. Blinking my eyes there was a figure with black hair and familiar eyes forming to stand in front of me.

The woman paused in front of me when she flashed me a kind smile. “Hi Raelyn.”

“Jo! I’m so happy to see you -“ I rushed forward to hug my cousin until I realized that she wasn’t physically here in front of me. “Wait, how are you here right now?”

She shrugged her shoulders responding back. “Astral projection. I can see that you did the spell I taught you quite well. It was almost impossible for me to find you.”

“Have they started looking for me at all. I am trying to not make friends here but there’s my brother’s outgoing personality to talk with everyone that is fighting against me every day.” I grumbled used to being a little shy until I got to really know someone. Jacob on the other hand wasn’t afraid of going up and talking with everyone.

She walked across towards the bed sitting down on it. "I can't stay for long. I need to place my magic back inside the knife I placed it in. But as far as I know they haven't come looking. I am just here to say I am sorry about Jacob and if you need anything you can call me."

"Thanks Jo. I'd hug you if I could right now. You're basically the only family member who talks to me at the moment…I'm too terrified to face my mom and dad." Sitting down beside her on the bed I slumped my shoulders until I heard the front door closed and by that point my cousin quickly disappeared from my sight.

"There you are, little witch. I was afraid that my brother Niklaus had swept you off your feet and got you to tag along with him wherever he was going." The blonde original vampire responded back, dragging some outfits behind her that were hanging off her arm. "Now let's talk about getting you some new wardrobe because frankly I think you need to change into some different clothes. You've had the same ones on for two days."

Watching her lay the outfits down I rose to my feet eyeing her quietly for a few seconds. "Why do you think I would run off with your brother…I barely know anything about him except he has a lot of siblings, is a hybrid and that he enjoys painting."

"I'll tell you some other things about him. He has a temper and thinks that he is alone. But he does anything to protect his family and he respects a vow that we made a thousand years ago." She declares handing me some ripped blue jeans and a white tank top. She had paired it with some black combat boots and a black jacket to match.

Shrugging on the jacket I looked myself over and had to admit that she had picked well. Brushing my hair over my shoulders I pulled the blue crystal necklace out from underneath my tank top. My father may have given me the necklace but I knew it really belonged to my brother. "Thanks Bex. So what exactly did you have in mind?"

“I felt like showing you this town. I might even get you a date to the dance coming up if you want.” She beamed, taking my hand in hers dragging me downstairs and we needed up at the Grill seeing the boy named Matt that had offered me a ride into town on my first night here.

Sitting down at the bar I pushed hair behind my ear and we both got two shots of alcohol. She downed it quickly before I heard someone walking over to us. “Hey Raelyn, I was hoping I would find you here. I was thinking you could use a friend since you're new here.”

“Caroline right, I thought you would be afraid of me after what I did to you.” I pointed out to the other blonde standing in front of me.

Rebekah rolled her eyes at her drifting towards the human boy who was a football player at the high school from what I had heard. “She already has a friend, Caroline. Now if you don’t mind I am trying to find her a date to the dance.”

“Well I am not going anywhere. If Raelyn wants me to leave she can tell herself not you.” Caroline responded sitting down on the other side of me where I was in between the two blonde vampires. “So what exactly was it that you did to me the other night? I am just curious and I don’t want to offend you or anything.”

Tapping my fingers on the glass in my hands I shrugged my shoulders. “My mother called it siphoning. I was born a witch but I don’t have my own powers. I have to take the magic from any supernatural object or creature….I’m sorry for siphoning you. I was just afraid of Klaus that night.”

“It’s okay. I get it that it was for self defense.” She nodded watching me take a sip of my drink.

The original vampire entered the conversation between us once more. “Well I can tell you that my brother and the rest of my family are a pain in the behind. Now where did you get that necklace? I must say it is gorgeous.”

“Oh it used to be my brothers…my twin brother until I was forced to kill him without my mother telling me the truth." I sucked in a breath feeling some tears slipping down my face. Raising my hand up I wiped them away until I felt Caroline place a hand on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry, Raelyn. That's horrible." She muttered.

Rebekah sent me a weak smile. "No one should ever make siblings hurt one another."

Gripping the necklace in my hands I shook past the emotions that it would bring me. "So are we going shopping sometime soon?” I changed the conversation, making both of them smile at me. I haven’t had any friends until this point so I am hopefully letting them into my life. Maybe this one pony town as Klaus called wouldn’t be so bad.

I’m relatively new to the Bonkai world and you write really well about Bonnie and how deprioritized she was and how racist the writing was on the show. I wanted to ask your thoughts about if Jo’s kids had been placed in Bonnie instead by the Gemini coven. I have mixed feelings about the idea cause the whole womb transfer thing reeks of lack of consent and that’s while the character is a white woman (I seriously can’t believe Caroline never considered an abortion? And like how the fuck is she meant to be giving birth to the girls as vampire? Sorry, I digress) Obviously on the show if they had actually written that storyline for Bonnie, they would not have given that the sensitive writing that it required. But like the whole Gemini storyline was wrapped in Bennetts, I know the rl reason was Candice’s pregnancy but in-universe it makes zero sense for it to be Caroline. Like negative sense. Even if she weren’t a vampire. Whereas with Bonnie’s whole relationship with Kai and Liv and Luke, I feel like the drama could play out so interesting if the next gen of Parkers are sort of Bonnie’s babies also. And I do like the idea of Bonnie being a mother and having a family. But then again I want her to have more of a choice in choosing that. So say you were writing the storyline, how would you have it go?

For Caroline to be the writers favorite woman-lead (in terms of TVD) the constant lack of autonomy is loud. My friends and I discussed this quite often but Caroline doesn’t have much importance on her own post season 2. It’s often being shoehorned into other storylines to fill up the gaps if not being a mouthpiece to echo the fandoms thoughts least as it aired to me that is lol. {an example with this is how the Gemini plotline was initially Bonnie’s, Care gets pregnant boom Forbes/Saltzman/Gemini thing. Tyler’s arc in season 2… Stefan’s grief (S6)is turned into Caroline’s emotions…} to name a few things.

I personally would’ve crossed out the middle situation because you’re right Caroline doesn’t make sense there. How is this vampire nurturing and feeding these babies? Tbh, once Hope was created (yeah yeah vampire show yadda yadda) tvd didn’t have to bind by rules anymore. ANYWAY.

Two ways to go with this. If someone did have to die in the finale I would’ve went with Alaric. Kept Jo and Liv, build-up BonKai and focus on Bonnie and Liv’s relationship. Work on Bonnie/Jo and JoKai. Give Kai a chance with his siblings. If Klaus can treat his siblings like garbage and be constantly forgiven then I don’t see why Kai can’t be given another chance.

The other option I’d go with is building BonKai post 6-8, make Bonnie and Kai start off their sexual relationship with hate sex and then build their relationship. Keep the enemies to lovers dynamic. Expand on how the Gemini Coven/Bennetts got connected. Then create Jo/Kai/Liv and Bonnie dynamics! Let BonKai have their little twins around season 8. Close it off in a perfect world with marriage.

BonKai is no different than Delena/Klaroline/Freelin etc (or any TVDU pairing) so there is no reason why they couldn’t have worked lol. The thing is with Bonnie’s pairing x said evil man or woman she can actually fight back in ways that the other women leads never can.

Klaus/Caroline or Tyler/Liv?

For Tyler and Liv oh boyy my ship deserved better.

I’d have Tyler and Caroline break up between season 4-5 the whole Klaus thing coming between them plus most of their relationship being long distance. Tyler is absent for the beginning of season 5 due to being predisposed mentoring a pack or something.

He and Liv cross paths the same way as for in that bar with Damon and Matt where Tyler’s interest is piqued. Then I’d have pretty much everything the same right up to where Liv dies.

Liv would almost die but Tyler would end up saving her and it would make them both realise that life is too short and that their argument was stupid. Then they’d get back together.

Because I’d end TVD in season 6, in the fast forward scene for Tyler and Liv I’d have them both reapply for College and then I’d cut to a graduation scene where they’re both graduating together and they’d be all proud of each other and kiss. Luke, Jo and Alaric would be there with their kids snapping pics. 

And just for the hilarity of it I’d have Kai lurking in the background behind a tree or something (because I wouldn’t kill Kai either) then he’d ironically mumble ‘congratulations sis’. I’d have Tyler look up at the last minute and frown but by the time he looks in Kai’s direction he’d be gone and Liv would be pulling Tyler into another one of Luke’s pictures which he is snapping by the dozen.

Elena’s voice over implies that they live nice little human(ish) lives together undisturbed by Liv’s family (because they learnt their lesson with Kai) and they pretty much live happily ever after.

Jo wouldn't have handled the twins being siphoners well I think she would have had issues with it showing through in small doses throughout their childhood if she lived she might even in a Misguided attempt to help them/deal with the issue encourage them to not siphon at all which would bring on all kinds of other problems not to mention the Gemini coven Prejudice mindset against siphoners wouldn't do them any favors and her history with siphoners with kai wouldn't help either I actually can see her getting angry whenever the twins siphoned even by accident with a overreaction after that she would start to separate herself somewhat from them and possibly even being neglectful at times withholding affection alaric of all people probably would be the better parent because he doesn't have the covens Influence on hating siphoners nor would he trust any opinions or ideas they had when it came to his children I honestly think in a messed up way if twins showed signs of issues with withholding siphoning jo would go to the coven to have a prison world set up if she didn't go to kai for advice at all
