last reblog just brings up all the unbridled rage i felt as a high schooler watching spn for the first time. not about bela, but the same treatment was given to anna. she was one of my favorite characters to get introduced she was so cool and interesting and unique. SHE was supposed to be their angel side-kick, NOT castiel, but he got soooo popular w/ the fans that they changed their plans. cas was a fucking snitch bro he reported her ass to heaven or whatever for being free and liberated from their order and then she got mind-warped or something stupid & was suddenly so ooc & sent on a suicide mission to kill john & mary to prevent sam being born only to get nuked by micheal like GOD bro can eric kripke just say he hates women please

i think About how much better supernatural would be if they let women live and pass Bechdel tests. It's one of the few shows that managed to write some women so well I'd watch an episode on them alone. Cassie, bela, charlie, Rowena, meg, jo and Ellen, jody, Donna, ruby... It's really ironic that a show so mysoginistic managed to write such compelling characters that weren't sexy redhead girlboss no3. Even becky had really great comedic potential if they weren't so sexist.

I mean they wrote at least three red headed girlbosses but they were interesting red headed girlbosses. No but it’s genuinely so interesting to me because like some of the female characters really ARE good. Ruby conning everyone and getting one of the best villain reveal speeches?? Fun as hell!! Jody is allowed to be cool and strong and a good hunter and also she almost starts crying at least once in all of her episodes!! Mary is one of my favourite supernatural characters and I think bringing her back and allowing her to be fucked up and complicated was so smart and actually made for a lot of really good writing! Rowena, Charlie, Claire, Donna, LINDA FUCKING TRAN. Like I don’t think supernatural is Good At Women but there are a lot of genuinely compelling female characters who just got treated SO badly and it drives me crazy.
